In still moments by the sea life seems large-drawn and simple. It is there we can see into ourselves. ~ Rolf Edberg
Sea Life quotes by Rolf Edberg
Revolutions are nipped in the bud or else succeed too quickly. Passion is quickly exhausted. Men fall back on ideas, comme d'habitude. Nothing is proposed that can last more than twenty-four hours. We are living a million lives in the space of a generation. In the study of entomology, or of deep sea life, or cellular activity, we derive more ... ~ Henry Miller
Sea Life quotes by Henry Miller
Then like a bird, he gingerly landed on a protruding rock inside the monstrous cavern. I looked up at the wet walls teaming with sea life and reeled back feeling like I was going to lose my balance when I felt him reach around and carefully lift me off. He placed me so I could stand on the rock in front of him. His strong arms wrapped tightly around me so I wouldn't fall. We stood in astonishment deafened by the noise of the waves hitting the reef all around us. The warmth of his chest radiated against me. I molded my body up against his, my heart erupting in a flutter that caused my legs to weaken.
"What do you think?" he whispered into my ear. I felt his hot breath against the side of my neck, which caused me to be light-headed as my heart raced even harder.
"Awesome," I whispered, which was all I could get out as I slinked into his chest a little bit more. ~ Brenda Pandos
Sea Life quotes by Brenda Pandos
Swirling around my ears, the wind and I whooping at the sea, picking up speed, breathing it all in. An act of loving life. ~ Laurie Nadel
Sea Life quotes by Laurie Nadel
The setting of the sun is a difficult time for all fish. ~ Ernest Hemingway,
Sea Life quotes by Ernest Hemingway,
The loves and hours of the life of a man,
They are swift and sad, being born of the sea. ~ Algernon Charles Swinburne
Sea Life quotes by Algernon Charles Swinburne
Out here on the water, it's a fine line between feeling in control and losing it altogether. ~ Laurie Nadel
Sea Life quotes by Laurie Nadel
I went to sea from the most tender age and have continued in a sea life to this day. Whoever gives himself up to this art wants to know the secrets of Nature here below. It is more than forty years that I have been thus engaged. Wherever any one has sailed, there I have sailed. ~ Christopher Columbus
Sea Life quotes by Christopher Columbus
Life isn't a lazy cruise on some endless, calm, and temperate sea. Life is a raging ocean with swells and tidal waves that wreck and sink your boat. Life is a series of storms―overcast skies, fierce winds, and pelting rain. You were meant to be immersed in it all―first to float, then swim, and eventually to walk on water. ~ Richelle E. Goodrich
Sea Life quotes by Richelle E. Goodrich
Beyond all things is the sea ~ Seneca.
Sea Life quotes by Seneca.
Doc was collecting marine animals in the Great Tide Pool on the tip of the Peninsula. It is a fabulous place: when the tide is in, a wave-churned basin, creamy with foam, whipped by the combers that roll in from the whistling buoy on the reef. But when the tide goes out the little water world becomes quiet and lovely. The sea is very clear and the bottom becomes fantastic with hurrying, fighting, feeding, breeding animals. Crabs rush from frond to frond of the waving algae. Starfish squat over mussels and limpets, attach their million little suckers and then slowly lift with incredible power until the prey is broken from the rock. And then the starfish stomach comes out and envelops its food. Orange and speckled and fluted nudibranchs slide gracefully over the rocks, their skirts waving like the dresses of Spanish dancers. And black eels poke their heads out of crevices and wait for prey. The snapping shrimps with their trigger claws pop loudly. The lovely, colored world is glassed over. Hermit crabs like frantic children scamper on the bottom sand. And now one, finding an empty snail shell he likes better than his own, creeps out, exposing his soft body to the enemy for a moment, and then pops into the new shell. A wave breaks over the barrier, and churns the glassy water for a moment and mixes bubbles into the pool, and then it clears and is tranquil and lovely and murderous again. Here a crab tears a leg from his brother. The anemones expand like soft and brilliant flowers ~ John Steinbeck
Sea Life quotes by John Steinbeck
Oceans need more attention because climate change IS an ocean issue. Our oceans will be the first victim, and sea life will suffer dramatically. Detailed proof is hard in ocean science, but I think we're already seeing big ocean changes caused by climate change, such as starvation of whales, seabirds, and other animals off the coast US west coast. ~ Mark Powell
Sea Life quotes by Mark Powell
Those who look at the surface of the sea must behold the birth and death of the waves, but those who seek the depths of the ocean behold one indivisible mass of water. Similarly, those who acknowledge "life" and "death" are tossed by sorrow, while those who live in the illimitable superconsciousness behold and feel the One Ineffable Bliss. ~ Paramahansa Yogananda
Sea Life quotes by Paramahansa Yogananda
I lived in New York my whole life. Like every New Yorker, I have stories about spending summers on the Jersey shore, riding the roller coaster in Seaside that is now famous for that sickening photo of it being washed out to sea. ~ Marissa Jaret Winokur
Sea Life quotes by Marissa Jaret Winokur
Melancholy is at the bottom of everything, just as at the end of all rivers is the sea. Can it be otherwise in a world where nothing lasts, where all that we have loved or shall love must die? Is death, then, the secret of life? The gloom of an eternal mourning enwraps, more or less closely, every serious and thoughtful soul, as night enwraps the universe. ~ Henri Frederic Amiel
Sea Life quotes by Henri Frederic Amiel
Always remember that the ocean delights in feeling your feet in her eternal bath ... ~ Robert Wyland
Sea Life quotes by Robert Wyland
There is a silence where hath been no sound. There is a silence where no sound may be in the cold grave under the deep deep sea. ~ Thomas Hood
Sea Life quotes by Thomas Hood
The world's finest wilderness lies beneath the waves ... ~ Robert Wyland
Sea Life quotes by Robert Wyland
Oh, but to reach silence, what a huge effort of voice. My voice is the way I go seek reality; reality prior to my language exists as an unthinkable thought, but I was and am fatefully impelled to have to know what thought thinks. Reality precedes the voice that seeks it, but like the earth precedes the tree, but like the world precedes the man, but like the sea precedes the view of the sea, life precedes love, bodily matter precedes the body, and one day in its turn language shall have preceded possession of silence. - Clarice Lispector, The Passion According to G.H. ~ Clarice Lispector
Sea Life quotes by Clarice Lispector
This self now as I leant over the gate looking down over fields rolling in waves of colour beneath me made no answer. He threw up no opposition. He attempted no phrase. His fist did not form. I waited. I listened. Nothing came, nothing. I cried then with a sudden conviction of complete desertion. Now there is nothing. No fin breaks the waste of this immeasurable sea. Life has destroyed me. No echo comes when I speak, no varied words. This is more truly death than the death of friends, than the death of youth. ~ Virginia Woolf
Sea Life quotes by Virginia Woolf
When men come to like a sea-life, they are not fit to live on land. ~ Samuel Johnson
Sea Life quotes by Samuel Johnson
Waves are the voices of tides. Tides are life," murmured Niko. "They bring new food for shore creatures, and take ships out to sea. They are the ocean's pulse, and our own heartbeat. ~ Tamora Pierce
Sea Life quotes by Tamora Pierce
That was the river, this is the sea. ~ Mike Scott
Sea Life quotes by Mike Scott
If mother kept a list of the reasons she confined me to the house on the hill, she'd have a length of paper that could stretch all the way down Pinnacle Lane and trail into the waters of the Puget Sound. It could choke passing sea life. It could flap in the wind like a giant white flag of surrender atop our house's widow's walk. ~ Leslye Walton
Sea Life quotes by Leslye Walton
While the flowers, pale and unreal in the moonlight, floated away upon the river; and thus do greater things that once were in our breasts, and near our hearts, flow from us to the eternal sea. ~ Charles Dickens
Sea Life quotes by Charles Dickens
The darkest period of my life, so far, arrived the summer I was pregnant with my eldest son. The future was growing in me with all of its terrifying unpredictability, and I found myself anxious, unable to work and woefully at sea. ~ Lauren Groff
Sea Life quotes by Lauren Groff
Build thee more stately mansions, O my soul,
As the swift seasons roll!
Leave thy low-vaulted past!
Let each new temple, nobler than the last,
Shut thee from heaven with a dome more vast,
Till thou at length art free,
Leaving thine outgrown shell by life's unresting sea! ~ Oliver Wendell Holmes, Sr.
Sea Life quotes by Oliver Wendell Holmes, Sr.
A wide-angle view of sails sparkling white against a cobalt sky as light dances, silver on the water. Like art, it soothes the edge, allowing you to see something simple from a different perspective. ~ Laurie Nadel
Sea Life quotes by Laurie Nadel
The car rolled slowly along the deserted corniche, headlights cleaving its way through Beirut by night. In gentle swerves to avoid potholes, the Mercedes waltzed along a straight road in a dance of death. Sick palm trees and parched grass divided the tarred road of civilization. The sea alone was testimony to God's beautiful creation. But in its belly, corpses, limbs, garbage, and ordnance mingled with a sea life on the verge of extinction. ~ Dana K. Haffar
Sea Life quotes by Dana K. Haffar
[Director] Peter Wallerstein does great work rescuing sea life along the shores of LA, and I helped raise money for sanctuaries such as Chimp Haven, who are now taking in over two hundred medical lab chimps released from government-funded medical testing labs. ~ Alison Eastwood
Sea Life quotes by Alison Eastwood
A natural example of this is the two seas in the Holy Land. The Sea of Galilee freely receives and gives out water. It has an abundance of life, nurturing many different kinds of fish and plant life. The water of the Sea of Galilee is carried by way of the Jordan River to the Dead Sea. But the Dead Sea only takes water in and does not give it out. There are no living plants or fish in it. The living waters from the Sea of Galilee become dead when mixed with the hoarded waters of the Dead Sea. Life cannot be sustained if held on to: It must be given freely. ~ John Bevere
Sea Life quotes by John Bevere
When ... we realize the possibilities of deep sea life still unknown to us, every haul of the dredge should be welcomed by an expectant enthusiasm equaled in other fields only by the possible hope of communication with our sister planets. ~ William Beebe
Sea Life quotes by William Beebe
History will never change because of politics or conquests or theories or wars; that's mere repitition, it's been going on since the beginning of time. History will only change when we are able to use the energy of love, just as we use energy of the wind, the seas, the atom. ~ Paulo Coelho
Sea Life quotes by Paulo Coelho
No aquarium, no tank in a marine land, however spacious it may be, can begin to duplicate the conditions of the sea. And no dolphin who inhabits one of those aquariums or one of those marine lands can be considered normal. ~ Jacques-Yves Cousteau
Sea Life quotes by Jacques-Yves Cousteau
The sea! The sea! The open sea!, The blue, the fresh, the ever free! ~ Bryan Procter
Sea Life quotes by Bryan Procter
For a woman knows the face of the man she loves like a sailor knows the open sea ~ Honore De Balzac
Sea Life quotes by Honore De Balzac
Once she started awake to a sound like the low roll of drums, and to the south she saw an endless congregation of antelope that moved across the nighted plain, raising a cloud of dust behind them that swallowed the stars and turned the moon rusty brown as a scrape of ruined iron. Near dawn, in that darkest hour, she raised her head again and saw to the north the passage of sails. They hovered across the deep like a parade of phantom cavaliers tilted upon hellish steeds. They passed in waves, ranks upon ranks of ghostly warlords bent toward the coming dawn as if to impale the sun itself and set it atop a spike in the blackened sky. ~ A.S. Peterson
Sea Life quotes by A.S. Peterson
Though Fin couldn't see it, she felt the closeness of land around her. From beyond the grey veil she could sense the oppressive weight of two great continents crowding down to the sea, each to kneel and contemplate the nearness of an ancient earthen brother. ~ A.S. Peterson
Sea Life quotes by A.S. Peterson
Think of life as a voyage. The truest liver of the truest life is like a voyager who, as he sails, is not indifferent to all the beauty of the sea around him. ~ Phillips Brooks
Sea Life quotes by Phillips Brooks
Something, most certainly, happens to a diver's emotions underwater. It is not merely a side effect of the pleasing, vaguely erotic sensation of water pressure on the body. Nor is it alone the peculiar sense of weightlessness, which permits a diver to hang motionless in open water, observing sea life large as whales around him; not the ability of a diver, descending in that condition, to slowly tumble and rotate in all three spatial planes. It is not the exhilaration from disorientation that comes when one's point of view starts to lose its "lefts" and "down" and gains instead something else, a unique perception that grows out of the ease of movement in three dimensions. It is not from the diminishment of gravity to a force little more emphatic than a suggestion. It is not solely exposure to an unfamiliar intensity of life. It is not a state of rapture with the bottomless blue world beneath one's feet…it is some complicated mix of these emotions, together with the constant proximity of real terror. ~ Barry Lopez
Sea Life quotes by Barry Lopez
The sea is not a bargain basement. ~ Jacques-Yves Cousteau
Sea Life quotes by Jacques-Yves Cousteau
No love is Like an ocean with the dizzy procession of the waves' boundaries ... ~ Jack Spicer
Sea Life quotes by Jack Spicer
There is nothing more enticing, disenchanting, and enslaving than the life at sea. ~ Joseph Conrad
Sea Life quotes by Joseph Conrad
A painter, who finds no satisfaction in mere representation, however artistic, in his longing to express his inner life, cannot but envy the ease with which music, the most non-material of the arts today, achieves this end. He naturally seeks to apply the methods of music to his own art. ~ Wassily Kandinsky
Sea Life quotes by Wassily Kandinsky
Living your problems and loving them like locked rooms is much different from denying them or capitulating to them. It is believing that God is with you in the imperfect, even disappointing circumstances of your life. It is saying to Him with faith in your heart. ~ Steven Furtick
Sea Life quotes by Steven Furtick
Surprise yourself everyday with the power of your love. Love endlessly and care profoundly to feel the joy of life deeply. ~ Debasish Mridha
Sea Life quotes by Debasish Mridha
Perhaps it was Lord Darion," Rolfe said at last, and Emma sagged with relief.
"Lord Darion?" Blake stared at him in confusion. "I have not heard of him. Does he have a keep around here?"
Emma glanced over her shoulder to see her cousin shake his head. There was a sparkle of mischief in his eyes as he met hers. "Nay.Darion is a spirit of the woods. And a defender of the weak. He has been known to protect unwary travelers who are set upon ... always with a bow and arrow."
"Have you seen this Darion?"
"Oh,aye.Lord Darion saved my life a time or two.The first time I was a mere boy. ~ Lynsay Sands
Sea Life quotes by Lynsay Sands
Mercy is stronger than your sword. ~ P.C. Cast
Sea Life quotes by P.C. Cast
The fact is, I diet every day of my life. I have to work at it. But I diet so I can pig out. ~ Jack Nicklaus
Sea Life quotes by Jack Nicklaus
Or renounce life altogether! Accept fate obediently as it is, once and for all, and stifle everything in myself, renouncing any right to act, to live, to love. ~ Fyodor Dostoyevsky
Sea Life quotes by Fyodor Dostoyevsky
If your life does not worship God, your lips do not worship God either. ~ Aiden Wilson Tozer
Sea Life quotes by Aiden Wilson Tozer
Get Off The Scale!

You are beautiful. Your beauty, just like your capacity for life, happiness, and success, is immeasurable. Day after day, countless people across the globe get on a scale in search of validation of beauty and social acceptance.

Get off the scale! I have yet to see a scale that can tell you how enchanting your eyes are. I have yet to see a scale that can show you how wonderful your hair looks when the sun shines its glorious rays on it. I have yet to see a scale that can thank you for your compassion, sense of humor, and contagious smile. Get off the scale because I have yet to see one that can admire you for your perseverance when challenged in life.

It's true, the scale can only give you a numerical reflection of your relationship with gravity. That's it. It cannot measure beauty, talent, purpose, life force, possibility, strength, or love. Don't give the scale more power than it has earned. Take note of the number, then get off the scale and live your life. You are beautiful! ~ Steve Maraboli
Sea Life quotes by Steve Maraboli
Like a christening, a wedding, a graduation ceremony, a holy war, a revolutioneven?a fireworksdisplay, agaudy promise of what life ought to be, not life itself. ~ Alistair Cooke
Sea Life quotes by Alistair Cooke
In life, stress happens when you resist ... No matter what comes your way, if you take a rigid position, you experience pain. Never oppose force with force. Instead, absorb it and use it ... Yielding can overcome even a superior force. ~ Dan Millman
Sea Life quotes by Dan Millman
Today you are lifted higher. Understand that you can go further and be better than you ever thought possible. Start by saying yes to all good things. Doors will open for you filled with unlimited opportunities. ~ Amaka Imani Nkosazana
Sea Life quotes by Amaka Imani Nkosazana
I hadn't been out to the hives before, so to start off she gave me a lesson in what she called 'bee yard etiquette'. She reminded me that the world was really one bee yard, and the same rules work fine in both places. Don't be afraid, as no life-loving bee wants to sting you. Still, don't be an idiot; wear long sleeves and pants. Don't swat. Don't even think about swatting. If you feel angry, whistle. Anger agitates while whistling melts a bee's temper. Act like you know what you're doing, even if you don't. Above all, send the bees love. Every little thing wants to be loved. ~ Sue Monk Kidd
Sea Life quotes by Sue Monk Kidd
The accident was a horrible thing - but that horrible thing made Chris, at the end of his life, Superman. It's a happy irony if there is such a thing. I'm proud to have known him. ~ Morgan Freeman
Sea Life quotes by Morgan Freeman
My dad almost died as a child from water-borne diseases in Ethiopia, and he had talked to me about digging a well in Ethiopia and I thought, I have too many friends and great people in my life that would be concerned with this subject of clean water. ~ Kenna
Sea Life quotes by Kenna
There's a line in the picture where he (Johnny - The Wild One) snarls, 'Nobody tells me what to do.' That's exactly how I've felt all my life. ~ Marlon Brando
Sea Life quotes by Marlon Brando
All the rarest hues of human life take radiance and are rainbowed out in tears. ~ Gerald Massey
Sea Life quotes by Gerald Massey
We know that defence work results in more than great defence hardware - it can drive innovation and advances in all areas of our life. ~ Jay Weatherill
Sea Life quotes by Jay Weatherill
Unsure where she was to find a purpose or meaning to her life, she passed one formless day after another. ~ Haruki Murakami
Sea Life quotes by Haruki Murakami
Those who would administer [charity] wisely must, indeed, be wise, for one of the serious obstacles to the improvement of our race is indiscriminate charity. It were better for mankind that the millions of the rich were thrown into the sea than spent to encourage the slothful, the drunken, the unworthy. Of every thousand dollars spent in so-called charity today, it is probable that nine hundred and fifty dollars is unwisely spent - so spent, indeed, as to produce the very evils which it hopes to mitigate or cure. ~ Andrew Carnegie
Sea Life quotes by Andrew Carnegie
I want morning and noon and nightfall with you. I want your tears, your smiles, your kisses ... the smell of your hair, the taste of your skin, the touch of your breath on my face. I want to see you in the final hour of my life ... to lie in your arms as I take my last breath. ~ Lisa Kleypas
Sea Life quotes by Lisa Kleypas
When it comes to cooking and eating, I always try to preach that life is about moderation. Even if I'm having beef for dinner, it's probably going to be a 3-4 ounce portion with heaps and heaps of vegetables. ~ Michael Symon
Sea Life quotes by Michael Symon
People need books for a better life. Books are a way of self-nurturing. ~ Love The Stacks Bookstore
Sea Life quotes by Love The Stacks Bookstore
We all get one life to live here. It's 2012, and for gay and lesbian couples who are in love, not to be able to be married is so absurd. ~ Howard Stern
Sea Life quotes by Howard Stern
Life is a journey without plan or destination.
On the way we are preparing to plan and planning to return. ~ Debasish Mridha
Sea Life quotes by Debasish Mridha
There is no better application of the Golden Rule than to help a homeless pet. In doing this, you are giving the gift of life itself. And since there is no greater gift, there can be no greater reward ~ Samantha Glen
Sea Life quotes by Samantha Glen
We have to remove clutters from our life and prioritize our life with those things we need, this is the way to become Ekantik. ~ N.a.
Sea Life quotes by N.a.
As from the 1970's onward, digital code started to drive the global economy, now life code is beginning to be the fundamental driver of the global economy over the next 10, 20, 30 years. ~ Juan Enriquez
Sea Life quotes by Juan Enriquez
Above all, we cannot afford not to live in the present. He is blessed over all mortals who loses no moment of the passing life in remembering the past. ~ Henry David Thoreau
Sea Life quotes by Henry David Thoreau
I firmly believe that when you die you will enter immediately into another life. They who have gone before us are alive in one form of life and we in another. ~ Norman Vincent Peale
Sea Life quotes by Norman Vincent Peale
[My] pillar of support through life ... I can say conscientiously that I do not know in the world a man of purer integrity, more dispassionate, disinterested, and devoted to genuine Republicanism; nor could I in the whole scope of America and Europe point out an abler head. ~ Thomas Jefferson
Sea Life quotes by Thomas Jefferson
So many of the dissertations and books I've read about revitalizing the American church fetishize the new life, without fully grappling with the death. ~ Lyz Lenz
Sea Life quotes by Lyz Lenz
It is not easy to recognize, the talent of the individual who contributes to the lives of others by sharing a natural gift in everyday life. ~ Lydia Clar
Sea Life quotes by Lydia Clar
One might say my life has been tragic. Yet, as I sat in pain in the hospital I raised my tired hands toward the sky, palms facing in, fingers spread, and I gave thanks. ~ Abeba Habtu
Sea Life quotes by Abeba Habtu
Leave the dark places in the sea for fools and explorers. ~ Mira Grant
Sea Life quotes by Mira Grant
If an American is to amount to anything he must rely upon himself, and not upon the State; he must take pride in his own work, instead of sitting idle to envy the luck of others. He must face life with resolute courage, win victory if he can, and accept defeat if he must, without seeking to place on his fellow man a responsibility which is not theirs. ~ Theodore Roosevelt
Sea Life quotes by Theodore Roosevelt
