Social media is not rocket science. This, however, does not make it easy either. ~ David Amerland
Rockets quotes by David Amerland
Speaking personally, I want my films to make money, but money is just fuel for the rocket. What I really want to do is to go somewhere. I don't want to just collect more fuel ~ Brad Bird
Rockets quotes by Brad Bird
Large solid rockets have never been a very good way to build launchers that might have crews on top, especially because of the problems in getting the crew away from a failing launcher. ~ Henry Spencer
Rockets quotes by Henry Spencer
Reusable rockets promise much easier testing because you should usually get them back, and you can debug as you go rather than having to get everything perfect the first time. ~ Henry Spencer
Rockets quotes by Henry Spencer
If someday rockets should open the gates to space, then we must be oriented as to its environmental conditions and their possible biological effects. To study this, and to find means of protection, is one of the tasks of space medicine. ~ Hubertus Strughold
Rockets quotes by Hubertus Strughold
What is pride? A rocket that emulates the stars. ~ William Wordsworth
Rockets quotes by William Wordsworth
There's a reason why stars can only exist in the sky
they're just rockets of light traveling through space, so it feels right to admire their form from a distance. People, solid and living and breathing together in the same world, are not meant to be surround by that much darkness. ~ Katie Kacvinsky
Rockets quotes by Katie Kacvinsky
Cycling is not rocket science. ~ Jens Voigt
Rockets quotes by Jens Voigt
Konstantin Tsiolkovsky in Russia, Hermann Olberth in Germany, and Robert Goddard in the United States all came up with an eerily similar concept for using liquid fuel to power rockets for human spaceflight. I've seen this pointed out as an odd coincidence, one of those moments when an idea inexplicably emerges in multiple places at once. But when I read through each of these three men's biographies I discovered why they all had the same idea: all three of them were obsessed with Jules Verne's 1865 novel "De la terre a la lune (From the Earth to the Moon)." The novel details the strange adventures of three space explorers who travel to the moon together. What sets Verne's book apart from the other speculative fiction of the time was his careful attention to the physics involved in space travel -- his characters take pains to explain to each other exactly how and why each concept would work. All three real-life scientists -- the Russian, the German, and the American -- were following what they had learned from a French science fiction writer. ~ Margaret Lazarus Dean
Rockets quotes by Margaret Lazarus Dean
A.F. WS-315A medium-range missile system), Douglas acquired access to several German V-2 Rockets. These were the wonder weapons of the day, notable for their sizable documentation packages. They ~ William Mills Tompkins
Rockets quotes by William Mills Tompkins
When you ask a girl out and she suggest a bar, you're answer shouldn't be great, I like that bar and they'll have the Rockets game on too. ~ Iliza Shlesinger
Rockets quotes by Iliza Shlesinger
But we did see the process develop. I remember going to the Rocket Pictures base and they had something like 40 people there, drawing. They didn't know what the characters looked like yet and I remember on the walls seeing 30 or 40 different versions of Juliet. So, it was then that I realised that someone's got to come in and make some really executive decisions. ~ Matt Lucas
Rockets quotes by Matt Lucas
Across the gulf of centuries, the blind smile of Homer is turned upon our age. Along the echoing corridors of time, the roar of the rockets merges now with the creak of the wind-taut rigging. For somewhere in the world today, still unconscious of his destiny, walks the boy who will be the first Odysseus of the Age of Space. ~ Arthur C. Clarke
Rockets quotes by Arthur C. Clarke
You can just reload, propel it and fly again. This is extremely important for revolutionizing access to space because as long as we continue to throw away rockets and space crafts, we will never truly have access to space. ~ Elon Musk
Rockets quotes by Elon Musk
Rocket science has been mythologized all out of proportion to its true difficulty. ~ John Carmack
Rockets quotes by John Carmack
The revolutionary breakthrough will come with rockets that are fully and rapidly reusable. We will never conquer Mars unless we do that. It'll be too expensive. The American colonies would never have been pioneered if the ships that crossed the ocean hadn't been reusable. ~ Elon Musk
Rockets quotes by Elon Musk
I have a problem,' said Nikolai Nikolaivitch Asterinov, getting to his feet. 'I have a problem, that I wish to share with this, our science fiction writers' collective. We are to concoct a race of aliens against which humanity can unite. Spacefaring aliens, no?' 'Yes, of course.' 'Then this is my problem. We know the party line. The philosophy of the party has always been that capitalistic Western fantasies of launching rockets to other planets will always be doomed by the internal contradictions of the competitive inefficiency of capitalism itself. Only the combined and unified effort of a whole people would be able to achieve so monumental an achievement as interstellar flight. No capitalist race could ever achieve something as sophisticated as interstellar flight; only communists could do this. Now, how can it be that these evil aliens are able to build spaceships and fly across the void? Surely they are not communists? ~ Adam Roberts
Rockets quotes by Adam Roberts
Bush had expertise in one thing: How to run a Presidential campaign. He understands campaigns and Presidential politics. He has no interest or disposition or I think probably - he's not stupid, but he's not bright, he's not a rocket scientist - he isn't interested in policy. ~ John Dean
Rockets quotes by John Dean
Pyramids, cathedrals, and rockets exist not because of geometry, theories of structures, or thermodynamics, but because they were first a picture- literally a vision-in the minds of those who built them. Society is where it is today because people had the perception; the images and the imagination; the creativity that the Arts provide, to make the world the place we live in today. ~ Eugene S. Ferguson
Rockets quotes by Eugene S. Ferguson
I would not be able to change a sparking plug and I would not be able to fly a spaceship or build a rocket or whatever. But what I am good at doing is finding brilliant people and surrounding myself with brilliant people. ~ Richard Branson
Rockets quotes by Richard Branson
The rockets set the bony meadows afire, turned rock to lava, turned wood to charcoal, transmuted water to steam, made sand and silica into green glass which lay like shattered mirrors reflecting the invasion, all about. The rockets came like drums, beating in the night. The rockets came like locusts, swarming and settling in blooms of rosy smoke. ~ Ray Bradbury
Rockets quotes by Ray Bradbury
I love Groot so much I get teary eyed when I think of him sometimes. Essentially, all the Guardians start out the movie as bastards - except Groot. He's an innocent. He's a hundred percent deadly and a hundred percent sweet. He's caught up in Rocket's life, really. ~ James Gunn
Rockets quotes by James Gunn
Arboreal, a fine word. Our arboreal ancestors, Crake used to say. Used to shit on their enemies from above while perched in trees. All planes and rockets and bombs are simply elaborations on that primate instinct. ~ Margaret Atwood
Rockets quotes by Margaret Atwood
Rockets, in general, had come on in leaps and bounds since the market had become competitive in the early twenty-first century. Initially, Spacex and Virgin grabbed the headlines, but when Amazon and Trader Joe's joined in, the prices plummeted. So ~ Ian Thompson
Rockets quotes by Ian Thompson
This was the fundamental problem with rockets - and no one had ever discovered any alternative for deep-space propulsion. It was just as difficult to lose speed as to acquire it, and carrying the necessary propellant for deceleration did not merely double the difficulty of a mission; it squared it. ~ Arthur C. Clarke
Rockets quotes by Arthur C. Clarke
I say all this to note the paradox of that generation of Americans that spent childhood in the Depression, fought in World War II as teenagers, and as adults built the country as we know it today, for better or worse, richer or polluted, in plutonium and in health. That paradox is one of excess and selflessness. It was a generation that acted first, thought later. Ours, on the other hand, thinks almost everything into oblivion. Ours projects all, yet seems at a loss to do anything that will substantially alter what we so brilliantly project, most of which is payment for fifty years of excess since the war - chemical water, dying forests, soaring deficits, clogged arteries, rockets and bombs like hardened foam from a million panting mouths. ~ Gregory Orfalea
Rockets quotes by Gregory Orfalea
It's absolutely stupid that we live without an ozone layer. We have men, we've got rockets, we've got saran wrap - fix it! ~ Lewis Black
Rockets quotes by Lewis Black
And then I wondered if as soon as he came to like me he would sink into
ordinariness, and if as soon as he came to love me I would find fault after fault, the way I did with Buddy Willard and the boys before him.
The same thing happened over and over:
I would catch sight of some flawless man off in the distance, but as soon as he moved closer I immediately saw he wouldn't do at all.
That's one of the reasons I never wanted to get married. The last thing I wanted was infinite security and to be the place an arrow shoots off from. I wanted change and excitement and to shoot off in all directions myself, like the colored arrows from a Fourth
of July rocket. ~ Sylvia Plath
Rockets quotes by Sylvia Plath
Instead of giving the effort the level of attention needed, the Air Force has wasted a year doing very little to end our reliance on Russian rocket engines, if the Air Force is unwilling to do what is necessary to meet the 2019 deadline, they are going to have to figure out how to meet our space launch needs without the RD-180 (Russian engine). ~ John McCain
Rockets quotes by John McCain
Two thousand Sufi poets assembled in Baghdad last night
Bullets, rockets and granades flying
Allah heard only their wine voices
Bursting in a fireball straight to Paradise
Bombs and explosives
Illuminated the shame for an instant
Before sinking suddenly to earth

Echoes of their words seep through wounds ~ Gabriel Rosenstock
Rockets quotes by Gabriel Rosenstock
To miss one year is a long time. I've never been in this situation before, and I'm getting as much information as I can about my foot, to see what's the best for me and best for the Rockets. ~ Yao Ming
Rockets quotes by Yao Ming
No wonder that Churchill described this effort [the British codebreakers working at Bletchley Park] as "Britian"s secret weapon," a weapon far more effective than the buzz bombs and the rockets that Werner von Braun designed for a German victory, a weapon absolutely decisive, in the judgement of many, in winning the war for the Allies. ~ Peter Hilton
Rockets quotes by Peter Hilton
I wonder why no one called the police about the rocket launcher? God knows my neighbors usually report it if I so much as fart in my backyard. (Bubba) ~ Sherrilyn Kenyon
Rockets quotes by Sherrilyn Kenyon
Athletics is a great sport with many different events and athletes come in all shapes and sizes. I'm one of the smallest athletes on the track. They call me the 'pocket rocket'. ~ Jenny Meadows
Rockets quotes by Jenny Meadows
The rockets ... can be built so powerfully that they could be capable of carrying a man aloft. ~ Hermann Oberth
Rockets quotes by Hermann Oberth
Careers, like rockets, don't always take off on time. The trick is to always keep the engine running. ~ Gary Sinise
Rockets quotes by Gary Sinise
College feminists made fun of skyscrapers, saying they were phallic symbols. They said the same thing about space rockets, even though, if you stopped to think about it, rockets were shaped the way they were not because of phallocentrism but because of aerodynamics. Would a vagina-shaped Apollo 11 have made it to the moon? Evolution had created the penis. It was a useful structure for getting certain things done. And if it worked for the pistils of flowers as well as the inseminatory organs of Homo sapiens, whose fault was that but Biology's? But no
anything large or grand in design, any long novel, big sculpture, or towering building, became, in the opinion of the "women" Mitchell knew at college, manifestations of male insecurity about the size of their penises. ~ Jeffrey Eugenides
Rockets quotes by Jeffrey Eugenides
Astronomy may be revolutionized more than any other field of science by observations from above the atmosphere. Study of the planets, the Sun, the stars, and the rarified matter in space should all be profoundly influenced by measurements from balloons, rockets, probes and satellites ... In a new adventure of discovery no one can foretell what will be found, and it is probably safe to predict that the most important new discovery that will be made with flying telescopes will be quite unexpected and unforeseen. (1961) ~ Lyman Spitzer
Rockets quotes by Lyman Spitzer
Ashton Ford will come as something of a surprise to those of you who have been with me over the years. This is not the same type of fiction that established my success as a novelist; Ford is not a gutbuster and he is not trying to save the world from anything but its own confusion. There are no grenade launchers or rockets to solve his problems and he is more of a lover than a fighter. I have grown, I hope, both as a person and as a writer, and I needed another vehicle to carry the creative quest. Ashton Ford is that vehicle. ~ Don Pendleton
Rockets quotes by Don Pendleton
I'm so uncoordinated, I can't really do that much, so my specialty is standing in one spot or holding on to something, like an exploding rocket or a jetski. ~ Johnny Knoxville
Rockets quotes by Johnny Knoxville
The one thing in life you can control is your effort. Are there any shortcuts in the beauty business? No. That was the first lesson I learned. You can't just rocket to the top. ~ Mark Cuban
Rockets quotes by Mark Cuban
I'm burning a way of life, just like that way of life is being burned clean of Earth right now. Forgive me if I talk like a politician. I am, after all, a former state governor, and I was honest and they hated me for it. Life on Earth never settled down to doing anything very good. Science ran too far ahead of us too quickly, and the people got lost in a mechanical wilderness like children making over pretty things, gadgets, helicopters, rockets; emphasizing the wrong items, emphasizing machines instead of how to run the machines. Wars got bigger and bigger and finally killed Earth. That's what the silent radio means. That's what we ran away from. ~ Ray Bradbury
Rockets quotes by Ray Bradbury
It is this breathtaking image [of] success that motivates us and motivates kids to follow and understand rocket science: to understand the importance of physics and math and, in many ways, to have that awe at exploration of the frontiers of the unknown. ~ Steve Jurvetson
Rockets quotes by Steve Jurvetson
The thing I have discovered about working with personal finance is that the good news is that it is not rocket science. Personal finance is about 80 percent behavior. It is only about 20 percent head knowledge. ~ Dave Ramsey
Rockets quotes by Dave Ramsey
Wolf took a step closer so that he towered over Scarlet, creating what could have been a moment of intimacy if the room hadn't been so crowded. "So? Will you marry me?"
Scarlet started to smile.
"Wait. Before you answer that," said Thorne, gesturing around the room, "you should know that the store where we got all this stuff doesn't take returns."
Casting her gaze skyward, Scarlet said, "Well, in that case. Yes. Yes, of course I will." Her eyes glimmered as she draped her arms over Wolf's shoulders. His hands spread out across the sash at her waist and he bent toward her -
But just before their lips touched, Thorne thrust his hands in between them, receiving dual kisses on his fingers. Wolf and Scarlet jerked back.
"Slow those rockets," said Thorne. "I'm no expert, but I'm pretty sure we're not to the kissing part yet." He pried Scarlet away from Wolf, who growled low in his throat, and ordered, "Places, everyone! ~ Marissa Meyer
Rockets quotes by Marissa Meyer
Come on, Rory! It isn't rocket science, it's just quantum physics!
-The Doctor (Matt Smith) ~ Steven Moffat
Rockets quotes by Steven Moffat
I would say we want to stop the firing of rockets, for sure. But we also want to dismantle the terror - the tunnel - the terror tunnel networks that we have uncovered. ~ Benjamin Netanyahu
Rockets quotes by Benjamin Netanyahu
That's our job - to strap rockets onto everything. ~ Adam Savage
Rockets quotes by Adam Savage
When he reached the last hole he saw, far to the west, a series of rockets bloom in the sky. He watched their green and yellow and red petals arch across the horizon, and fade into the gloom of the earth. It was very beautiful, but he recognized them for Chinese rockets. ~ Pat Frank
Rockets quotes by Pat Frank
Solid-fuel rockets can't easily be shut down on command. ~ Henry Spencer
Rockets quotes by Henry Spencer
If it is finally accepted that the personality in whole or part survives death - and I believe that it will be - then such a belief will be considered as modern as a belief in spaceships and rockets. ~ Jane Roberts
Rockets quotes by Jane Roberts
Perhaps there will be a slight streak of green, a patch that will deepen and then grow. Then another patch on the horizon, like a green searchlight. And then shivering curtains of light can fill the sky, or looping spirals, or flickering flames of green and purple, and candy-apple red. It feels as if they should be accompanied by dramatic sounds, the bangs of fireworks or the roars of rockets. But these are utterly silent, almost solemn in their dancing. And yet they can be comforting in their own way; as if in this remote and frozen wilderness there's something else out there that is alive. ~ Gabrielle Walker
Rockets quotes by Gabrielle Walker
Regimes planted by bayonets do not take root ... Our military strength is a prerequisite to peace, but let it be clear we maintain this strength in the hope it will never be used, for the ultimate determinant in the struggle that's now going on in the world will not be bombs and rockets but a test of wills and ideas, a trial of spiritual resolve, the values we hold, the beliefs we cherish, the ideals to which we are dedicated. ~ Ronald Reagan
Rockets quotes by Ronald Reagan
Using material ferried up by rockets, it would be possible to construct a "space station" in ... orbit. The station could be provided with living quarters, laboratories and everything needed for the comfort of its crew, who would be relieved and provisioned by a regular rocket service. (1945) ~ Arthur C. Clarke
Rockets quotes by Arthur C. Clarke
Wind surged across the frozen wastes. Our bodies moved restlessly, we could not feed them enough. Dusk upon us, we crept across the ghetto of boulders, our headlamps sometimes eerie, then like rockets in the fog. Total darkness ambushed us short of our destination. The hours wore on. The moraine wore us down. My eyes were riveted to the rising scythe of a moon. In that instant I figured out what was killing me. It wasn't the quick blow of an ax, but the slow torment of the rack: each day I was weaker, each hour a little more sick. With every night that passed I shuffled a bit nearer to death. I made life-and-death decisions like I was choosing between two brands ~ Mark Twight
Rockets quotes by Mark Twight
I was quiet, a loner. I was one of those children where, if you put me in a room and gave me some crayons and a pencils, you wouldn't hear from me for nine straight hours. And I was always drawing racing cars and rockets and spaceships and planes, things that were very fast that would take me away. ~ Gary Oldman
Rockets quotes by Gary Oldman
If we had these rockets in 1939, we should never have had this war. ~ Adolf Hitler
Rockets quotes by Adolf Hitler
What patients want is not rocket science, which is really unfortunate because if it were rocket science, we would be doing it. We are great at rocket science. We love rocket science. What we're not good at are the things that are so simple and basic that we overlook them. ~ Laura Gilpin
Rockets quotes by Laura Gilpin
Imagine urself waking up & finding urself inside that roar of rockets, bombardment & death symphony played by the howling of weepings. ~ Bela Anĝelo
Rockets quotes by Bela Anĝelo
If they don't learn about launching rockets at home, then they'll just learn about it on the streets." I glowered at him. "That sounds like something Hitler would say. ~ Penny Reid
Rockets quotes by Penny Reid
If you're a leader, your whole reason for living is to help human beings develop - to really develop people and make work a place that's energetic and exciting and a growth opportunity, whether you're running a Housekeeping Department or Google. I mean, this is not rocket science. ~ Tom Peters
Rockets quotes by Tom Peters
A rocket won't fly unless somebody lights the fuse! ~ Homer Hickam
Rockets quotes by Homer Hickam
Rockets fired by the Taliban generally aren't guided. ~ Richard Engel
Rockets quotes by Richard Engel
Hamas hides its rockets and bombs in schools and mosques, builds tunnels under United Nations facilities, and often surrounds its fighters with children and other civilians, using them as human shields. It hopes that Israel will either refrain from firing on known terrorists or that, if Israel does fire, enough children will die for the world to express outrage against Israel. In other words, this organization launches rockets hoping to kill children, and when Israel responds, it does all it can to make sure that only Palestinian children die. ~ Jay Sekulow
Rockets quotes by Jay Sekulow
Israel attacked Gaza solely in response to hundreds of rockets sent by Hamas to kill as many Israelis as possible. ~ Dennis Prager
Rockets quotes by Dennis Prager
We possess several hundred atomic warheads and rockets and can launch them at targets in all directions, perhaps even at Rome. Most European capitals are targets of our air force. ~ Martin Van Creveld
Rockets quotes by Martin Van Creveld
When I was a boy in the midwest I used to go out and look at the stars at night and wonder about them.

I guess every boy does that.

When I wasn't looking at the stars, I was running in the my old or my brand-new tennis shoes, on my way to swing in a tree, swim in a lake, or delve in the town library to read about dinosaurs or time machines.

I guess every boy has done that, too.

This is a book about those stars and those tennis shoes. Mainly about the stars, beacuse that is the way I grew up, getting more and more involved with rockets and space as I moved toward my twelfth, thirteenth, and fourteenth years.

Not that I have forgotten the tennis shoes and their powerful magic, as you will see in the last story here, which I have included not because it concerns the future, but because it gives you some sort of idea of the kind of boy I was when I was looking at the stars and thinking of the years ahead.

Nor have I forgetten the dinosaurs that all boys love; they are here, too, along with a machine that travels back in time to step on a butterfly.

This is a book then by a boy who grew up in a small illinois town and lived to see the space age arrive, as he hoped and dreamt it would.

I dedicate these stories to all boys who wonder about the past, run swiftly in the present, and have high hopes for our future.

The stars are yours, if you have the head, the hands, and the heart for th ~ Ray Bradbury
Rockets quotes by Ray Bradbury
Most women would rather have someone whisper their name at optimum moments than rocket with contractions to the moon. ~ Merle Shain
Rockets quotes by Merle Shain
We can build rockets to explore outer space and enhance the quality of life on Earth, or we can use them to destroy other nations. ~ Jacque Fresco
Rockets quotes by Jacque Fresco
I always see what's ... wrong. Would you want that? When I see a car or a rocket or spacecraft, I only see what's wrong. I never see what's right. It's not a recipe for happiness. ~ Elon Musk
Rockets quotes by Elon Musk
Resentments are the rocket fuel that lives in the tip of my saber. ~ Charlie Sheen
Rockets quotes by Charlie Sheen
Did you know that the Russians sent dogs into space? My mother told me this when I was a boy. Nobody knew the effects of space on a body, you see, so they sent dogs first. They found two little mongrels on the streets of Moscow. Pchelka, which means Little Bee, and Mushka, which means Little Fly. They went up in Sputnik 6. They were supposed to get into orbit and come right back. But the rockets misfired and shot them into space.

Whenever I look at the night sky, I think about those dogs. Wearing these hand-stitched spacesuits, bright orange, with their paws sticking out. Big fishbowl helmets. How… crazy. Floating out and out into space. How bewildered they must have been, dying from oxygen deprivation. For what? They would have happily spent their days rummaging through trashcans.

For all anyone knows these dogs are still out there. Two dead mongrels in a satellite. Two dog skeletons in silly spacesuits. Gleaming dog skulls inside fishbowl helmets. They'll spin through the universe until they burn up in the atmosphere of an uncharted planet. Or get sucked into a black hole to be crushed into a ball of black matter no bigger than an ant turd. ~ Craig Davidson
Rockets quotes by Craig Davidson
Writers haven't got any rockets to blast off. We don't even trundle the most insignificant auxiliary vehicle. We haven't got any military might. So what can literature do in the face of the merciless onslaught of open violence? One word of truth outweighs the whole world. ~ Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn
Rockets quotes by Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn
I would so much rather put up with mortars and rockets than headquarters. Mortars and rockets are exciting and can only kill you, but those guys can frustrate and bore you to death, which is a damned sight worse. The home of the useless regulations!!!'[6] ~ Christopher Robbins
Rockets quotes by Christopher Robbins
Just watching Israel bombarding Palestine and Palestine sending one or two little rockets over to Israel - it's just too sad for words. ~ Richard Branson
Rockets quotes by Richard Branson
What I do is not rocket science, but I sure do love it. ~ Kyle Chandler
Rockets quotes by Kyle Chandler
Do we really need these big, gigantic, heavy rockets? What if we launch a rocket that's empty, and its sole purpose is to act as a source of fuel on the Moon? Who should build that? Well, I think the U.S. should build that. ~ Buzz Aldrin
Rockets quotes by Buzz Aldrin
It's really not rocket science. If animals are not mere things; if they have moral value, we cannot justify eating, wearing, or using them particularly when we have no better reason than palate pleasure or fashion. If you are eating, wearing, or using animals, then your actions say that you regard them as mere things, despite what your words say. ~ Gary L. Francione
Rockets quotes by Gary L. Francione
I always say when you see that old black-and-white footage of the rocket on the launch pad and it falls over and explodes, that's because people had slide rules. Not having the decimal point is a real drawback. You want the decimal point, take it from me. ~ Bill Nye
Rockets quotes by Bill Nye
Ben Says: Set your rockets for the stars and go beyond ... everything is possible in life!
Timothy Pina
Bullying Ben ~ Timothy Pina
Rockets quotes by Timothy Pina
The Retrofire rockets seem to be responding well ~ Gherman Titov
Rockets quotes by Gherman Titov
But there was another thing Momo couldn't quite understand - a thing that hadn't happened until very recently. More and more often these days, children turned up with all kinds of toys you couldn't really play with: remote-controlled tanks that trundled to and fro but did little else, or space rockets that whizzed around on strings but go nowhere, or model robots that waddled along with eyes flashing and heads swiveling but that was all. ~ Michael Ende
Rockets quotes by Michael Ende
The couple had lunch the next day and then went to the White Cube, a modern art gallery, and then back to Musk's hotel room. Musk told Riley, a virgin, that he wanted to show her his rockets. "I was skeptical, but he did actually show me rocket videos, ~ Ashlee Vance
Rockets quotes by Ashlee Vance
It ain't always rocket science, sometimes a door is just a door. ~ James Rollins
Rockets quotes by James Rollins
Most recently, terrorist forces have captured Israeli soldiers and fired rockets into Israeli cities - both unprovoked. These acts of aggression deserve the rapid and decisive response they received. ~ John Boehner
Rockets quotes by John Boehner
One of our neighbors is a salami distributor, and they pretty well - I mean, we used their salami to make a rocket engine out of. They just look at us and they're amused, they're fine with it. ~ Jamie Hyneman
Rockets quotes by Jamie Hyneman
A great deal of my battle, as an actor, is to whittle away the things that make me self-conscious and try to trick myself into not being self-conscious. So, it's always a challenge, whether I'm lying in a hospital bed or flying around with a rocket pack on my back, or what have you. On the best of days, it's a challenge for me. ~ Billy Campbell
Rockets quotes by Billy Campbell
Supplying fuel for a Mars expedition from the lunar surface is often suggested, but it's hard to make it pay off - Moon bases are expensive, and just buying more rockets to launch fuel from Earth is relatively cheap. ~ Henry Spencer
Rockets quotes by Henry Spencer
The carillon is, after all, the music of the people. Elsewhere, in the glittering capitals, public festivals are celebrated with fireworks, that magical offering that can thrill the very soul. Here, in the meditative land of Flanders, among the damp mists so antagonistic to the brilliance of fire, the carillon takes their place. It is a display of fireworks that one hears: flares, rockets, showers, a thousand sparks of sound which colour the air for visionary eyes alerted by hearing. ~ Georges Rodenbach
Rockets quotes by Georges Rodenbach
Dad turned to Kurt. "You must be the boy I keep hearing about."
"I guess so," Kurt said.
"Well, Kurt," Dad said, "just remember that I specialize in tying things to rockets and sending them into space. And sometimes they accidentally blow up."
"Dad."
"You'll have no reason to kill me, sir."
"Kurt. You make sure she doesn't cry, okay?"
Dad smiled happily at Kurt and then sagely at me. ~ Robison Wells
Rockets quotes by Robison Wells
Suddenly he was amazed to see a lifeboat floating near the starboard side. He phoned the bridge - did they know there was a boat afloat? An incredulous voice asked who he was. Rowe explained, and the bridge then realized he had been overlooked. They told him to come to the bridge right away and bring some rockets with him. ~ Walter Lord
Rockets quotes by Walter Lord
The Thirties dreamed white marble and slip-stream chrome, immortal crystal and burnished bronze, but the rockets on the covers of the Gernsback pulps had fallen on London in the dead of night, screaming. ~ William Gibson
Rockets quotes by William Gibson
I came out of school one day, and there was this pulp magazine. It was a rainy day, and it was floating toward the sewer in the gutter. So I pick up this pulp magazine, and it's Wonder Stories, and it's got a rocket-ship on the cover, and I'd never seen a rocket-ship. ~ Jack Kirby
Rockets quotes by Jack Kirby
Hezbollah's contempt for human suffering is total, as it showed once again this morning when its rockets murdered two Israeli Arab children in Nazareth. ~ Tom Lantos
Rockets quotes by Tom Lantos
[Science] works! Planes fly. Cars drive. Computers compute. If you base medicine on science, you cure people. If you base the design of planes on science, they fly. If you base the design of rockets on science, they reach the moon. It works ... bitches. ~ Richard Dawkins
Rockets quotes by Richard Dawkins
As when astronaut Mike Mulhane was asked by a NASA psychiatrist what epitaph he'd like to have on his gravestone, Mulhane answered, "A loving husband and devoted father," though in reality, he jokes in "Riding Rockets," "I would have sold my wife and children into slavery for a ride into space. ~ Mary Roach
Rockets quotes by Mary Roach
War contributes greatly to global warming, which shouldn't surprise us. All those bombs going off, all those rockets, all those planes and helicopters. All that fuel of various kinds being used. It pollutes the air and water of this very fragile and interconnected planet. ~ Alice Walker
Rockets quotes by Alice Walker
It is here that we see the dawn of hope: for no matter how formidably Communism bristles with tanks and rockets, no matter what successes it attains in seizing the planet, it is doomed never to vanquish Christianity. ~ Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn
Rockets quotes by Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn
Human relationships are not rocket science
the are far, far more complicated ~ James W. Pennebaker
Rockets quotes by James W. Pennebaker
As a kid, I was obsessed with space. Well, I was obsessed with nuclear science too, to a point, but before that, I was obsessed with space, and I was really excited about, you know, being an astronaut and designing rockets, which was something that was always exciting to me. ~ Taylor Wilson
