There is no other occupation in the world that so closely resembled enslavement as the career of a film star. ~ Louise Brooks
Rashay Brooks quotes by Louise Brooks
The cognitive sciences have replaced literature as the way many people attempt to understand their own minds. ~ David Brooks
Rashay Brooks quotes by David Brooks
Love is a publicity stunt, and making love, after the first curious raptures, is only another petulant way to pass the time waiting for the studio to call. ~ Louise Brooks
Rashay Brooks quotes by Louise Brooks
When I believe in my ability to do something, there is no such word as no. ~ Max Brooks
Rashay Brooks quotes by Max Brooks
The thing that most attracts me to historical fiction is taking the factual record as far as it is known, using that as scaffolding, and then letting imagination build the structure that fills in those things we can never find out for sure. ~ Geraldine Brooks
Rashay Brooks quotes by Geraldine Brooks
Comedy is serious - deadly serious. Never, never try to be funny! The actors must be serious. Only the situation must be absurd. Funny is in the writing, not in the performing. If the situation isn't absurd, no amount of joke will help. ~ Mel Brooks
Rashay Brooks quotes by Mel Brooks
It's wonderful to work for a company that gives so much back to its communities, especially to our children. Donations are only one way we support our communities. Our team members also volunteer their time and energies to a number of different local groups, including this aquarium. We form partnerships with these organizations because we feel we can accomplish more together than if we were each working on our own. ~ Patricia Brooks
Rashay Brooks quotes by Patricia Brooks
If you do not love what you do, if you are not appropriately grateful for the chance to create something magical each time you sit down at the computer or with a pencil and paper in hand, somewhere along the way your writing will betray you. ~ Terry Brooks
Rashay Brooks quotes by Terry Brooks
Albert Brooks is definitely one of my biggest influences, for sure. ~ Jonah Hill
Rashay Brooks quotes by Jonah Hill
The Wampanoag, in ways which are not plain to me, in concert decided upon their own observance of father's passing. They marked it in a most singular manner. As soon as father's loss became known to them, each one, when traveling up or down the island, would fetch from the shore a smooth white stone such as can oft be found there. These they carried until they passed the place where father had taken farewell of them. There they deposited them. Within days, there was a cairn. In the weeks that followed, you could say, a monument, each stone of it placed with the care of an artisan. The last I saw, it had grown higher than a man, and still the Wampanoag came, one by one, placing a stone upon a stone. ~ Geraldine Brooks
Rashay Brooks quotes by Geraldine Brooks
that the wars of the past were slowly being forgotten. Shea believed that one could turn his back on the past and build a new world with the future, never understanding that the future was inextricably tied to the past, an interwoven tapestry of events and ideas that would never be entirely severed. ~ Terry Brooks
Rashay Brooks quotes by Terry Brooks
Just keep taking chances and having fun. ~ Garth Brooks
Rashay Brooks quotes by Garth Brooks
It went on from there. One last, god-awful, no-holds-barred blue; one of those fights where you pour out every poisonous thought you've ever had, the dregs of every grievance, and you set the cup in front of the other person and force them to drink it. ~ Geraldine Brooks
Rashay Brooks quotes by Geraldine Brooks
How is having a super orgasm going to increase the knowledge of Jesus Christ? ~ Mary D. Brooks
Rashay Brooks quotes by Mary D. Brooks
The Graces was a great experience; it's great working with women, but we weren't put together in an organic way, and I think that's why we didn't stay together. There wasn't that natural friendship. ~ Meredith Brooks
Rashay Brooks quotes by Meredith Brooks
Highly educated young people are tutored, taught and monitored in all aspects of their lives, except the most important, which is character building. When it comes to this, most universities leave them alone. ~ David Brooks
Rashay Brooks quotes by David Brooks
But words spoken can never be taken back. They can only be measured for and judged on the strength of their sincerity and need. ~ Terry Brooks
Rashay Brooks quotes by Terry Brooks
Passion is something you'd easily die for. It's something you'd be honored to die for. It's something that's stronger than any machine man can create. It actually gives a mortal person wings. ~ Garth Brooks
Rashay Brooks quotes by Garth Brooks
MASS INCREASES

The final paradox of relativity is the increase in mass due to motion. Mass increase has been observed experimentally in particle accelerators, with increases as great as 3000% for particles traveling at over 99.9% the speed of light. How can the mass of an object get bigger just because it's moving?

Intuitive explanation. As we saw in Chapter 2, mass means inertia - i.e., resistance to acceleration. If you push something and it doesn't respond much, then by definition it has a large mass or inertia. Now we just saw that pushing on something that is traveling at close to the speed of light has little effect on its speed because the underlying fields are already moving almost as fast as they can. Thus its resistance to acceleration has become greater and this means its mass has increased. Mass increase is just another way of saying that fields can't propagate faster than c. ~ Rodney A. Brooks
Rashay Brooks quotes by Rodney A. Brooks
People do not connect with what happened last week, let alone what happened 20 years ago. ~ Avery Brooks
Rashay Brooks quotes by Avery Brooks
Angela Duckworth has shown how important grit and perseverance are to lifetime outcomes. College students who report that they finish whatever they begin have higher grades than their peers, even ones with higher SATs. ~ David Brooks
Rashay Brooks quotes by David Brooks
There is no little sin, because no little God to sin against. ~ Thomas Brooks
Rashay Brooks quotes by Thomas Brooks
The rich don't exploit the poor. They just out-compete them. ~ David Brooks
Rashay Brooks quotes by David Brooks
Doing a lot of reading is not the prerequisite to writing. ~ Larry Brooks

Brooks Robinson is not a fast man, but his arms and legs move very quickly. ~ Curt Gowdy
Rashay Brooks quotes by Curt Gowdy
Moral certainty can deafen people to any truth other than their own. ~ Geraldine Brooks
Rashay Brooks quotes by Geraldine Brooks
I'd love to play a villain in a movie, the kind of bad guy you would never think of me being able to play. Like most people, I have a darker side I'd like to explore onscreen. ~ Garth Brooks
Rashay Brooks quotes by Garth Brooks
Sometimes you have to deal / Devilishly with drowning men in order to swim them to shore. ~ Gwendolyn Brooks
Rashay Brooks quotes by Gwendolyn Brooks
Woody Allen stayed so good because he never left New York. Howard Stern stayed so good because he never left New York - Mel Brooks when he just got out of New York was doing 'Blazing Saddles;' when he left New York he started doing stuff like 'Robin Hood Men In Tights' - he was in L.A. too long. He lost the edge. ~ Artie Lange
Rashay Brooks quotes by Artie Lange
Design work doesn't just satisfy requirements, it elicits them. ~ Fred Brooks
Rashay Brooks quotes by Fred Brooks
And maybe I'm a little smarter now than I was before for all the stupid things I've done. ~ Herb Brooks
Rashay Brooks quotes by Herb Brooks
Years ago, the rats held this very house, and we attacked it and defeated them. But at that time the house was standing. Today only the cellar is left; the rats have certainly dug themselves in, and an attack would merely drive them into their holes - holes so narrow that it would be impossible to pursue and capture them. So has anybody a plan? Charles ~ Walter R. Brooks
