Get Smart or Die Trying ~ Trizzmatic
Rap Culture quotes by Trizzmatic
Hopeful dreams - even where crack kings' and dope fiends feast. Dust from the ash and rubble; they shine like bright stars once the mic is gripped and the bars are spit. ~ T.F. Hodge
Rap Culture quotes by T.F. Hodge
Jay-Z and Kanye West are to authentic rap culture what diseased rates were to 14th century Europeans ~ Dean Cavanagh
Rap Culture quotes by Dean Cavanagh
Since the 1960s, mainstream media has searched out and co-opted the most authentic things it could find in youth culture, whether that was psychedelic culture, anti-war culture, blue jeans culture. Eventually heavy metal culture, rap culture, electronica - they'll look for it and then market it back to kids at the mall. ~ Douglas Rushkoff
Rap Culture quotes by Douglas Rushkoff
Rap culture is interesting and different and has purpose but it has a non-romantic view of life and of social feelings. There may be a void in that. ~ Hal David
Rap Culture quotes by Hal David
The deaf culture is portrayed very accurately on 'Switched at Birth' because the writers did the opposite of the norm. They did their homework before portraying anything on television. ~ Sean Berdy
Rap Culture quotes by Sean Berdy
Breastfeeding does not have to be hard. Breastfeeding is natural. With rare exceptions, it becomes hard only because of all the interference caused by the medicalization of birth and unsupportive culture. Animals breastfeed instinctively with no need for supplementation, classes, or support. We as humans also have these instincts. We have become so disconnected. Breastfeeding my children has been one of my greatest joys in life, and I am filled with sorrow when I imagine how many mothers and infants haven't been able to experience this because of misinformation. ~ Adrienne Carmack
Rap Culture quotes by Adrienne Carmack
I jumped up in the bubble, yo kid where are you? (114 between Manhattan and Morningside Avenue) This happened just right out the blue ~ Big Noyd
Rap Culture quotes by Big Noyd
I'm conscious of race whenever I'm writing, just as I'm conscious of class, religion, human psychology, politics - everything that makes up the human experience. I don't think I can do a good job if I'm not paying attention to what's meaningful to people, and in American culture, there isn't anything that informs human interaction more than the idea of race. ~ Dwayne McDuffie
Rap Culture quotes by Dwayne McDuffie
The world of technology has made it easier for people to get in touch with their modern muses regardless of the genres that they are trying to utilize and even if they create a new genre based on a mixing of others. The potential for modern-day muses is as vast as individual creativity. ~ Kytka Hilmar-Jezek
Rap Culture quotes by Kytka Hilmar-Jezek
I'm not rapping, I'm conversing. It's just a conversation between me and you. ~ Snoop Dogg
Rap Culture quotes by Snoop Dogg
soon after we arrived in the U.S., Baba started grumbling about American flies. He'd sit at the kitchen table with his flyswatter, watch the flies darting from wall to wall, buzzing here, buzzing there, harried and rushed. "In this country, even flies are pressed for time," he'd groan. ~ Khaled Hosseini
Rap Culture quotes by Khaled Hosseini
The principles underlying propaganda are extremely simple. Find some common desire, some widespread unconscious fear or anxiety; think out some way to relate this wish or fear to the product you have to sell; then build a bridge of verbal or pictorial symbols over which your customer can pass from fact to compensatory dream, and from the dream to the illusion that your product, when purchased, will make the dream come true. They are selling hope.

We no longer buy oranges, we buy vitality. We do not just buy an auto, we buy prestige. And so with all the rest. In toothpaste, for example, we buy not a mere cleanser and antiseptic, but release from the fear of being sexually repulsive. In vodka and whisky we are not buying a protoplasmic poison which in small doses, may depress the nervous system in a psychologically valuable way; we are buying friendliness and good fellowship, the warmth of Dingley Dell and the brilliance of the Mermaid Tavern. With our laxatives we buy the health of a Greek god. With the monthly best seller we acquire culture, the envy of our less literate neighbors and the respect of the sophisticated. In every case the motivation analyst has found some deep-seated wish or fear, whose energy can be used to move the customer to part with cash and so, indirectly, to turn the wheels of industry. ~ Aldous Huxley
Rap Culture quotes by Aldous Huxley
The type of fig leaf which each culture employs to cover its social taboos offers a twofold description of its morality. It reveals that certain unacknowledged behavior exists and it suggests the form that such behavior takes. ~ Freda Adler
Rap Culture quotes by Freda Adler
In 2009 i was nominated for the 'best dutch poetry debute' called 'the buddingh award'. It's supposed to be the most important debut price. However the event proved rather hallucinogenic. It started with my publisher expressing 'great surprise' that 'I still managed to get nominated'. The surprise was out of place, since my book simply got the best reviews of all books that year. I went to Poetry International and noticed only 2 of the 3 jury members where present, and the female one kept looking at me in sort of a guilty fashion. Then the award was granted to Misscha Andriessen, which was sort of weird since his book was not seen as universally the best by critics. 'Too lightweight' one review of an important critic read. Later on I read that jurymember Wim Brands one year prior to the price already made clear that 'he is a big fan of Mischa Andriessen'. I always assumed that they were friends somehow but this morning I solved the mystery: they are from the same little village, so it had nothing to do with poetry, just tribal culture at its best. Kind of a relief to know that. ~ Martijn Benders
Rap Culture quotes by Martijn Benders
Celebrity is more than a culture today; it is an industry, complete with fame factories. ~ Mal Fletcher
Rap Culture quotes by Mal Fletcher
Theater in America is a kind of weed sprouting up in the weirdest places. It's deeply democratic and deeply human, and I think it's one of the best things our culture does. ~ Mac Wellman
Rap Culture quotes by Mac Wellman
The widespread inability to understand technological artifacts as fabricated entities, as social and cultural phenomena, derives from the fact that in retrospect only those technologies that prove functional for a culture and can be integrated into everyday life are 'left over.' However, the perception of what is functional, successful and useful is itself the product of social and cultural
and last but not least
political and economic processes. Selection processes and abandoned products and product forms are usually not discussed. ~ Johannes Grenzfurthner
Rap Culture quotes by Johannes Grenzfurthner
Culture is a window reflecting the history, culture and spiritual world of a nation, .. Cultural exchange is a bridge to enhance the mutual understanding and friendship between the people of different nations. ~ Hu Jintao
Rap Culture quotes by Hu Jintao
There's still a tremendous amount of homophobia in our culture. It's regrettable, it's stupid, it's heartless, and it's immoral, but there it is. ~ Rupert Everett
Rap Culture quotes by Rupert Everett
'Dare to Discipline' was published in 1970 in the midst of the Vietnam War and a culture of rebellion. The book was written in that context, but the principles of child rearing have not changed. ~ James Dobson
Rap Culture quotes by James Dobson
It is a sure sign that a culture has reached a dead end when it is no longer intrigued by its myths. ~ Greil Marcus
Rap Culture quotes by Greil Marcus
The culture is about moving to a place where tobacco and smoking isn't part of normal life: people don't encounter it normally, they don't see it in their big supermarkets, they don't see people smoking in public places, they don't see tobacco vending machines. ~ Andrew Lansley
Rap Culture quotes by Andrew Lansley
In each of the following chapters, dealing in turn with policing and repression, culture and propaganda, religion and education, the economy, society and everyday life, racial policy and antisemitism, and foreign policy, the overriding imperative of preparing Germany and its people for a major war emerges clearly as the common thread. But that imperative was neither rational in itself, nor followed in a coherent way. In one area after another, the contradictions and inner irrationalities of the regime emerge; the Nazi's headlong rush to war contained the seeds of the Third Reich's eventual destruction. How and why this should be so is one of the major questions that run through this book and binds its separate parts together. So do many further questions: about the extent to which the Third Reich won over the German people; the manner in which it worked; the degree to which Hitler, rather than broader systematic factors inherent in the structure of the Third Reich as a whole, drove policy onward; the possibilities of opposition, resistence, and dissent or even non-conformity to the dictates of National Socialism under a dictatorship that claimed the total allegiance of all its citizens; the nature of the Third Reich's relationship with modernity; the ways in which its policies in different areas resembled, or differed from, those pursued elsewhere in Europe and beyond during the 1930s; and much more besides. ~ Richard J. Evans
Rap Culture quotes by Richard J. Evans
Tend your own garden: savor the blossoms, trim the weeds. ~ Ron Kaufman
Rap Culture quotes by Ron Kaufman
We're building a culture of accountability, trust, and togetherness. Entitlement will not be tolerated ~ Brad Stevens
Rap Culture quotes by Brad Stevens
There are few things that's forever, my lady.
We can make war or make babies. ~ Method Man
Rap Culture quotes by Method Man
The escape from industrialism is not in socialism or in Sovietism. The answer lies in a return to a society where agriculture is practiced by most of the people. It is in fact impossible for any culture to be sound and healthy without a proper regard for the soil, no matter how many urban dwellers think that their food comes from grocers and delicatessens, or their milk from tin cans. This ignorance does not release them from a final dependence upon the farm and that most incorrigible of beings, the farmer. ~ Andrew Lytle
Rap Culture quotes by Andrew Lytle
The plants that produce visions can function- for those of us who have inherited the New World Order of barren materialism, cut off from our spiritual heritage by a spiteful culture that gives us nothing but ashes- as the talismans of recognition that awaken our minds to reality. ~ Daniel Pinchbeck
Rap Culture quotes by Daniel Pinchbeck
Time is real, we can't rewind it ...
Out of everybody I met, who told the truth?
Time did. ~ Common
Rap Culture quotes by Common
When culture is created in boardrooms with a panel of six or seven strategists for the masses to follow, to me that is no different than an aristocracy. It's not created from the people in the middle of the streets, so to speak. It is created from a petri dish for the sake of making money, and it is undermining the longevity of the culture. ~ Chuck D
Rap Culture quotes by Chuck D
Notice that your everyday, not-so-dire experience and behavior, what we can think of as your mental and physical worldline, unwinds smoothly from one moment to the next. Whatever it is that you're thinking and doing and feeling right now will of course change, but it evolves into each successive moment according to transitions that, even though they might not realize your hopes, are nonetheless causally perfect. Although you don't always get what you want, or even what you need, what you always get is an unobstructed, unhindered unfolding of experience and behavior into the next moment. What is this? It's nature doing what it does, effortlessly: being the many-leveled, interlocked and evolving patterns, conforming to what we call laws of nature, that constitute you. You, in your compulsory struggle to control, achieve, persist and enjoy, are exactly what fits and gets expressed in this bit of space-time. You, a person, are in fact a process that's perfectly entailed from moment to moment by the local configuration of impersonal factors cooked up by evolution and culture, genes and memes. We can trace the you-process historically and we can see it concurrently – what the organism and its mind do in transaction with immediate surroundings. Either way, what we see is an unhindered expression of cause and effect, the patterning of natural laws as they constitute you the person, whether in agony or ecstasy, joy or regret. ~ Thomas W. Clark
Rap Culture quotes by Thomas W. Clark
In borrowing from a food culture, pay attention to how a culture eats as well as to what it eats. ~ Michael Pollan
Rap Culture quotes by Michael Pollan
Glee is more then just a show now. It's become a wonderful culture celebrating the underdog and glorifying individuality. ~ Darren Criss
Rap Culture quotes by Darren Criss
There's a huge raft of roles that actors in our culture perform, and you can see any one of about three Hamlets in a year. It's not something to be completely daunted by. ~ Benedict Cumberbatch
Rap Culture quotes by Benedict Cumberbatch
The messages a woman receives from modern North American culture are contradictory; she needs a job for fulfillment but should be home with her children; she is more than her looks, but she had better wear makeup and stay thin; she has every opportunity men have but only on men's terms. ~ Janell L. Carroll
Rap Culture quotes by Janell L. Carroll
Cultures aren't so much planned as they evolve from that early set of people. ~ Jeff Bezos
Rap Culture quotes by Jeff Bezos
I think there's beauty in repetition. And that's part of my culture and African culture as well: repeated things, mantra. It's spiritual, it's meditation, it's Buddhism, it's praying, it's all these things. ~ Robert Glasper
Rap Culture quotes by Robert Glasper
We'll build new ties of trade and of commerce, culture and education that unleash the potential of the Iraqi people. ~ Barack Obama
Rap Culture quotes by Barack Obama
Never we sleep, a thug doesn't rest,
Cause a wise man said: it was a cousin of death. ~ Big Pun
Rap Culture quotes by Big Pun
There is no "true Islam," just different interpretations. ~ Shirin Ebadi
Rap Culture quotes by Shirin Ebadi
People are so confused about race and hip-hop that people didn't even consider the Beastie Boys one of the greatest rap groups of all time because they were white. ~ Chuck D
Rap Culture quotes by Chuck D
I find that with some girls, the words 'work' and 'education' have gotten a bad rap. ~ Sandra Bullock
