Poetry in any language old or new is the voice us all. A reflection of humanity. Even perhaps a note, a prayer, a mantra or a sign to future generations telling them tomorrow holds what today has lost. Through these voices find yourself ~ R.M. Engelhardt
R M Engelhardt quotes by R.M. Engelhardt
The man is in his work, read it if you want to know about him. ~ R.M. Engelhardt
R M Engelhardt quotes by R.M. Engelhardt
If death is like a sonnet then life would be a haiku. The sonnet, a lyrical poem, the beauty and magic with the last breath~ love, words fading and floating off into the abyss that is space whilst our everyday lives or days more important than normal become just a mere whisper in only a few short syllables through which we convey with our hearts the truth of the universe in a single moment briefly. ~ R.M. Engelhardt
R M Engelhardt quotes by R.M. Engelhardt
Poetry Is The Language Of Mysticism &
Discourse. It Is The Whisper In The Dark,
The Shadow In The Light. Poetry Is An Incantation From The Depths Of Your Very Soul. ~ R.M. Engelhardt
R M Engelhardt quotes by R.M. Engelhardt
Words are powerful. Words make a difference. They can create and destroy. They can open doors and close doors. Words can create illusion or magic, love or destruction. ... All those things. ~ R.M. Engelhardt
R M Engelhardt quotes by R.M. Engelhardt
In the end we're all on a journey of sorts.
We wait for a sign or something that attracts our attention. Look for a deeper meaning to it all. That's what poetry is for.

Searching. ~ R.M. Engelhardt
R M Engelhardt quotes by R.M. Engelhardt
When someone steals your original ideas? Feel sorry for them.
When someone steals your thunder or applause? Feel sorry for them.
When someone doesn't support your dreams or work ?

Feel sorry for them.

But when someone steals your truth, your voice, your heart or your words?

Feel truly sorry for them

And then kick their ass.
It's yours.

Because you've been way too fucking polite. ~ R.M. Engelhardt
R M Engelhardt quotes by R.M. Engelhardt
Everything is still everything.

The Poem Remains. ~ R.M. Engelhardt
R M Engelhardt quotes by R.M. Engelhardt
Intent and dreaming is nice but its not, will never be enough. If you want something bad enough in life then you must fight for it or go after it. Life doesn't just come to you. ~ R.M. Engelhardt
R M Engelhardt quotes by R.M. Engelhardt
In The End The Words Are The All And The Nothing. ~ R.M. Engelhardt
R M Engelhardt quotes by R.M. Engelhardt
Be Visionary ... ~ R.M. Engelhardt
R M Engelhardt quotes by R.M. Engelhardt
We write because the blank piece of paper and the pen are there. We write because this is our addiction and we are proud of it. Our habit, our drug, our crutch. Whatever you wish to call it. We write because since an early age we felt it deep in our souls and in our bones. The poem must be written, the story must be told and the new myths and Gods are waiting for you to bring them forth from out of the darkness and to bring them into the light of being. You are a creator, so create. You are the writer. So write. ~ R.M. Engelhardt
R M Engelhardt quotes by R.M. Engelhardt
What exactly is the new verse movement? The New Verse Movement of the 1910's was to make poetry relevant again by immersing it into the spaces, technologies, and social dynamics of the modern city.
And Now In The Present And Future ?
The New Verse Movement of the 21st Century follows these same beliefs. To somehow ignite the spark and to help make poetry relevant again in a new age of technologies (The Internet) and to support new & experimental as well as older poetic forms. The New Verse Movement of the 21st Century is all about change and free expression of the creative mind. ~ R.M. Engelhardt
R M Engelhardt quotes by R.M. Engelhardt
Remember The Poem ... ~ R.M. Engelhardt
R M Engelhardt quotes by R.M. Engelhardt
Books measure time in both moments and years.
We all grow old but the stories never will. ~ R.M. Engelhardt
R M Engelhardt quotes by R.M. Engelhardt
For me the poem and the poetry open mic isn't about competition and it never will be. Honestly? It's wrong. The open mic is about 1 poet, one fellow human being up on a stage or behind a podium sharing their work regardless of what form or style they bring to it. In other words? The guy with the low slam score is more than likely a far better poet-writer than the guy who actually won. But who are you? I ? Or really anyone else to judge them? The Poetry Slam has become an overgrown, over used monopoly on American literature and poetry and is now over utilized by the academic & public school establishments. And over the years has sadly become the "McDonalds Of Poetry". We can only hope that the same old stale atmosphere of it all eventually becomes or evolves into something new that translates to and from the written page and that gives new poets with different styles & authentic voices a chance to share their work too. ~ R.M. Engelhardt
R M Engelhardt quotes by R.M. Engelhardt
Sometimes it's great, and sometimes it's shit.

These are the things all the great philosophers

just won't tell you flat out about life.

You keep moving, keep living, keep breathing

And you keep writing-creating because that's what you do

And that's who you are. There are no magical voices to guide

You except your own. Make it count.

R M Engelhardt quotes by R.M. Engelhardt
Remember. Materialism is just another bullshit faith. Poetry is fucking alchemy. ~ R.M. Engelhardt
R M Engelhardt quotes by R.M. Engelhardt
Write from truth, write from self.
Writing theory or conceptual writing may be
A way to create new forms or styles but in the end?
The Words Must Be Your Own. ~ R.M. Engelhardt
R M Engelhardt quotes by R.M. Engelhardt
If love strikes you,
let it rattle your bones.
If it kills you,

Blue Planet Phenomenon.

she's from the pink planet called Constellation
he's from the dark planet beyond
under a constant monitor
no love a interplanetary phenomenon

he's an interstellar
she's studying astronomy
what they have seen sets in motion their biology
they will meet on the blue planet
they should know better
it's death if they get together

interplanetary love is forbidden
their passion keep it hidden
they should know better
but they must be together
to the blue planet
love velocity interstellar

crossing Earth's longitudes
hiding their love in the new years eve multitudes
they should know better
their love still not allowed
under another planets blanketing cloud

Planet Earth in unified love
new years eve blue planet phenomenon
she will fall pregnant
their baby conceived at a time of human unity
their unborn baby and united humanity
become one in harmony

interstellar before they're discovered
too late their love uncovered
they should know better
it's death for forbidden love together

trial on dark planet
they will all die today
"kill them now"
judgment say

they plea for their unborn baby's mercy
a reprieve
child leniency
only for their baby clemency

R M Engelhardt quotes by R.M. Romarney
No. I don't want to set the speed. I don't like being in control. I want him to set the pace. I'm not good at this kind of stuff. I'm stunned. I think I'm just staring at him with my mouth hanging open. How could he be so perfect in so many ways and then do something like this to me? Can't he see that I'm about as aggressive as a water lily?

R M Engelhardt quotes by R. M. Drake
Make your own path, your own rules. Be your own king or queen. Don't let anyone tell you how to live, when to breathe or what to love. Believe in something. Hold on to it and try not to let it go. Take care of yourself, trust a handful of people and always follow your heart. Find the good word, the good food and the good music, live by them. Make sure every moment counts and above all, be kind, for kindness is the greatest perk in life. It can take you anywhere. It can send you to the moon without ever leaving the ground, and it can save lives in the blink of an eye. ~ R. M. Drake
R M Engelhardt quotes by R. M. Drake

R M Engelhardt quotes by R.M. Romarney
What all Christians should appreciate is that the more they can grasp about migration and the experiences of immigrants, the more they will understand their faith - that is, the truths of such convictions as the reality of having another (heavenly) citizenship and the rejection that can come from being different, as well as the vulnerability that surfaces with needing to be dependent on God. Sadly, it is not uncommon for Christians to not feel like "strangers in a strange land"; their place of residence has lost its strangeness, and now they join others in wanting to keep strangers out. R M Engelhardt quotes by M. Daniel Carroll R.
It is of no use mincing the matter; Dr John Marsh, after being regarded by his friends at home as hopelessly unimpressible - in short, an absolute woman-hater - had found his fate on a desolate isle of the Southern seas, he had fallen - nay, let us be just - had jumped over head and ears in love with Pauline Rigonda! Dr Marsh was no sentimental die-away noodle who, half-ashamed, half-proud of his condition, displays it to the semi-contemptuous world. No; after disbelieving for many years in the power of woman to subdue him, he suddenly and manfully gave in - sprang up high into the air, spiritually, and so to speak, turning a sharp somersault, went headlong down deep into the flood, without the slightest intention of ever again returning to the surface. ~ R.M. Ballantyne
R M Engelhardt quotes by R.M. Ballantyne
and there were times when i felt lost,
but that did not stop me,
for the further i went ,
the more i collected myself
as i walked away
and the more i walked away
the closer i got it to all,,,
and in the end, i became the journey,
and like all journeys,
i did not end, i just
changed my directions. ~ R.m Drake
R M Engelhardt quotes by R.m Drake

R M Engelhardt quotes by R.M. ArceJaeger
To part is the lot of all mankind. The world is a scene of constant leave-taking, and the hands that grasp in cordial greeting today, are doomed ere long to unite for the the last time, when the quivering lips pronounce the word - 'Farewell ~ R.M. Ballantyne
R M Engelhardt quotes by R.M. Ballantyne
The ordinary man so very rarely questions the principles in which he has been brought up, that he is usually willing, whenever he has a feeling that he ought to do 'x', to say on this ground that he ought to do 'x'. ~ R.M. Hare
