I honestly think there are two kinds of quiet people. There's the kind like me, who are full of storms and spinning gears. Quiet People quotes by Claire Tomalin
I cannot understand why we idle discussing religion. If we are honest - and scientists have to be - we must admit that religion is a jumble of false assertions, with no basis in reality. The very idea of God is a product of the human imagination. It is quite understandable why primitive people, who were so much more exposed to the overpowering forces of nature than we are today, should have personified these forces in fear and trembling. But nowadays, when we understand so many natural processes, we have no need for such solutions. I can't for the life of me see how the postulate of an Almighty God helps us in any way. What I do see is that this assumption leads to such unproductive questions as why God allows so much misery and injustice, the exploitation of the poor by the rich and all the other horrors He might have prevented. If religion is still being taught, it is by no means because its ideas still convince us, but simply because some of us want to keep the lower classes quiet. Quiet people are much easier to govern than clamorous and dissatisfied ones. They are also much easier to exploit. Religion is a kind of opium that allows a nation to lull itself into wishful dreams and so forget the injustices that are being perpetrated against the people. Hence the close alliance between those two great political forces, the State and the Church. Both need the illusion that a kindly God rewards - in heaven if not on earth - all those who have not risen up against injustice, wh ~ Paul A.M. Dirac
Quiet People quotes by Paul A.M. Dirac
Woe to him who offends a patient man who has just reached his limit. ~ Joyce Rachelle
Quiet People quotes by Joyce Rachelle

Quiet People quotes by Debasish Mridha
Around the world–even in some of the countries most troubled by poverty or civil war or pollution–many thoughtful people are making a deep, concerted search for a way to live in harmony with each other and the earth. Their efforts, which rarely reach the headlines, are among the most important events occurring today. Sometimes these people call themselves peace workers, at other times environmentalists, but most of the time they work in humble anonymity. They are simply quiet people changing the world by changing themselves. ~ Eknath Easwaran
Quiet People quotes by Eknath Easwaran

Quiet People quotes by V.C. Andrews
Maybe it's true that shared trauma brings people closer together-a common hardship, a battle to survive-because when times are quiet people relax and go their own separate ways. They're lulled into believing they've got everything under control and don't need what they did before. ~ Laura Wiess

I thought I was inventing my own lot of imaginary aliens, and I was only describing the Senoi. It is not only th Captain Davidsons who can be found in the unconscious, if one looks. The quiet people who do not kill each other are there, too. It seems that a great deal is there, the things we most fear (and therefore deny), the things we most need (and therefore deny). I remember a time in a class on a cold winter morning a Japanese girl came with a surgical mask & I thought "wow people would go to extremes NOT to get sick in Japan" afterwards on a break I approached her & asked in a cynical manner: why the mask? It's rather hard to decide just when people are grown up,' laughed Anne.
'That's a true word, dearie. Some are grown up when they're born, and others ain't grown up when they're eighty, believe me. That same Mrs. Roderick I was speaking of never grew up. She was as foolish when she was hundred as when she was ten.'
'Perhaps that was why she lived so long,' suggested Anne. ~ L.M. Montgomery
Quiet People quotes by L.M. Montgomery
The problem with revolution, with the wave of violence it carries with it, is that it's like a flash flood - it sweeps everything away, and nothing looks the same as it once dd. And you think this is good, change was what you wanted in the first place, change was what you needed. But suddenly you have a country you must govern, people whose basic needs must be met. You must stabilize a currency... reform a constitution. Those are not the things young men dream of. They dream of dying for their country; dream of honor in battle. No one dreams about sitting at a desk and arguing over phrases. ~ Chanel Cleeton
Quiet People quotes by Chanel Cleeton
I love to hang out and talk to people on set, especially when I start a new job to get to know them. I like to learn things from the crew so I sit around and ask them technical questions, when I think of them. ~ Claudia Black
Quiet People quotes by Claudia Black

Quiet People quotes by Rob Bell
You're Chris Kyle?" said the man.
"Uh, yeah?" answered Chris.
The man handed Chris a piece of paper. "You've been served," he intoned in an overly dramatic voice.
Jesse Ventura had decided to sue Chris, claiming he had been defamed by his statements. According to Jesse, the incident never happened.
One of the unique aspects of the lawsuit was that it charged Chris with "unjust enrichment." In layman's terms, as I understood it, this meant that Jesse claimed people bought the book because he talked about decking him.
So all that information about Chris's childhood, his days as a cowboy, his time in Iraq, his medals, the people he saved, the people he couldn't save, his difficulty transitioning home, all the things I said in the book about raising the kids, how hard it was to get on without him…all of those things weren't the reason people bought the book? They were interested in the four hundred or so words tucked toward the back about a fight that didn't even name the principal-details that anyone could find for free on the Internet?
Awesome.
Chris wasn't worried about the lawsuit. He believed what he said and had witnesses who remembered the incident as he did.
It was an issue that would smolder for more than two years, and cause a great deal of pain. ~ Taya Kyle
Quiet People quotes by Taya Kyle
I particularly value conversations which are meetings on the borderline of what I understand and what I don't, with people who are different from myself. ~ Theodore Zeldin
Quiet People quotes by Theodore Zeldin
Find your own Calcutta. Find the sick, the suffering and the lonely right there where you are. ~ Mother Teresa
Quiet People quotes by Mother Teresa
Libertarians have always battled the age-old scourge of war. They understood that war brought death and destruction on a grand scale, disrupted family and economic life, and put more power in the hands of the ruling class - which might explain why the rulers did not always share the popular sentiment for peace. Free men and women, of course, have often had to defend their own societies against foreign threats; but throughout history, war has usually been the common enemy of peaceful, productive people on all sides of the conflict. ~ David Boaz
Quiet People quotes by David Boaz
I think people are people and, if their feelings are truthful, they can connect. It doesn't matter if you're an aging, 50-something wrestler at the end of his career, or an ambitious, 20-something ballet dancer. ~ Darren Aronofsky
Quiet People quotes by Darren Aronofsky
Mosquitoes remind us that we are not as high up on the food chain as we think. ~ Tom Wilson
Quiet People quotes by Tom Wilson
Not all smart people work at Sun Microsystems. ~ Bill Joy
Quiet People quotes by Bill Joy
You know, an idea is just an idea. There seems to ... the kind of epiphanies that you have, like the little sudden bursts of light, they're very small and they're very short and it's the pursuit of the idea that's the important thing ... I know a lot of people who have way better ideas than I do that-much more frequently than I do that just can't sit down and actually do it. Ideas are such are a little overrated really; it's the work behind the idea that's the important thing. ~ Nick Cave
Quiet People quotes by Nick Cave
What the soul is to the body, so is the artist to his people, ~ Gabriela Mistral
Quiet People quotes by Gabriela Mistral
I, for one, struggle a little bit with a $250,000 education for a philosophy degree. They are a wonderful people, but we can't employ philosophers in manufacturing in the United States. We need a one- or two-year technical add-on for a high school. ~ Douglas R. Oberhelman
Quiet People quotes by Douglas R. Oberhelman

'Frozen' definitely isn't about a man, but about the relationship between two sisters. At different times in our lives we find ourselves either more connected to or disconnected from the people in our family, and I think audiences will really be able to relate to that. ~ Idina Menzel
Quiet People quotes by Idina Menzel
I just miss it. Reading. I miss reading." Stiles' face is turned in the other direction now. Away from Derek. Derek, who has never contemplated that reading isn't a given for everyone in this country. Up until now, he has assumed that some people love to read and those who don't like it deserve longer jail sentences if they ever commit a crime. ~ Vendelin
Quiet People quotes by Vendelin

You were able to sing something they related to instantly, because it was part of what you felt. It was part of what you had already traveled through. It's part of the people you were associating with daily. It was all of that. ~ Ben E. King
Quiet People quotes by Ben E. King
That first shrink I saw when I got back to Clayton Falls told me no one is a lost cause, but I think that's bullshit. I think people can be so crushed, so broken, that they'll never be anything more than a fragment of a whole person. ~ Chevy Stevens
Quiet People quotes by Chevy Stevens
It takes brains not to make money," Colonel Cargill wrote in one of the homiletic memoranda he regularly prepared for circulation over General Peckem's signature. "Any fool can make money these days and most of them do. But what about people with talent and brains? Name, for example, one poet who makes money. ~ Joseph Heller
Quiet People quotes by Joseph Heller
Oh, the terrible struggle that I have had against sleep so often of late; the pain of the sleeplessness, or the pain of the fear of sleep, and with such unknown horror as it has for me! How blessed are some people, whose lives have no fears, no dreads; to whom sleep is a blessing that comes nightly, and brings nothing but sweet dreams. ~ Bram Stoker
