In August 1961, I visited President Kennedy at Hyannis Port. The Berlin Wall was going up, and he was about to begin a huge military buildup - reluctantly, or so he said, as he puffed on a cigar liberated by a friend from Castro's Cuba. ~ Gore Vidal
President Kennedy quotes by Gore Vidal
While the question of who killed President Kennedy is important, the question 'what killed him' is more important. ~ Martin Luther King, Jr.
President Kennedy quotes by Martin Luther King, Jr.
When you tax capital gains income, you don't help the economy, you hurt the economy, which is why President Kennedy, President Reagan, President Clinton and President Bush all believed we should have a lower rate for capital gains. ~ Rob Portman
President Kennedy quotes by Rob Portman
As we think about the next 50 years, I remember a story President Kennedy told a week before he was killed. The story was about French Marshal Louis-Hubert-Gonzalve Lyautey, who walked one morning through his garden with his gardener. He stopped at a certain point and asked the gardener to plant a tree there the next morning. The gardener said, "But the tree will not bloom for 100 years." The marshal replied, "In that case, you had better plant it this afternoon. ~ Newton N. Minnow
President Kennedy quotes by Newton N. Minnow
President Kennedy stocked up on Cuban Cigars just before signing the embargo. ~ Hank Bracker
President Kennedy quotes by Hank Bracker
I am against the planned political assassinations by our intelligence and defense agents. The CIA-FBI-DIA and DISC (Defense Industry Security Command) were set up originally to protect citizens of the USA. They became their own judges and juries, private servants of corporations with investments at home and abroad. I am against the constant destruction of evidence in criminal matters and political assassinations. Prime witnesses are murdered before or after testifying. Diaries are forged and planted in obvious places. Doubles are created to confuse. The Police Departments manipulate facts in cooperation with conspirators. I am outraged that our judicial system since 1947 has been patterned after Nazi Germany. Patsies are dead or locked away. The assassins walk the streets or leave the country - "home free". I am against using the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, Earl Warren, to cover up the assassination of President Kennedy. When the highest court is corrupt, there is no hope at local levels. ~ Mae Brussell
President Kennedy quotes by Mae Brussell
Whatever my party affiliation, I will continue to be guided by President Kennedy's statement that sometimes party asks too much. ~ Arlen Specter
President Kennedy quotes by Arlen Specter
Whether we are Christians or Muslims or nationalists or agnostics or atheists, we must first learn to forget our differences. If we have differences, let us differ in the closet; when we come out in front, let us not have anything to argue about until we get finished arguing with the man. If the late President Kennedy could get together with Khrushchev and exchange some wheat, we certainly have more in common with each other than Kennedy and Khrushchev had with each other. ~ Malcolm X
President Kennedy quotes by Malcolm X
When I mentioned about Adlai Stevenson, if he was vice president there would never have been an assassination of our beloved President Kennedy ~ Jack Ruby
President Kennedy quotes by Jack Ruby
The one appearance that I made for President Kennedy, he, as I understand, had his choice or was asked to make a list of the people he would like to have perform, and I was fortunate enough to be one of them. ~ Julie London
President Kennedy quotes by Julie London
Had (President) Kennedy turned to his advisers and wailed, "What can we beat the Russians at?" and if someone had cried "Backgammon!" at that point, Apollo would never have happened. ~ Andrew Smith
President Kennedy quotes by Andrew Smith
I covered Kennedy when she was three years old and the darling daughter of President Kennedy who doted on her and whose mother did everything to protect her from the prying press. ~ Helen Thomas
President Kennedy quotes by Helen Thomas
Many people remember that spirit that President Kennedy summoned forth. Many people look to me as somebody who embodies that sense of possibility. ~ Caroline Kennedy
President Kennedy quotes by Caroline Kennedy
President John F. Kennedy's Cigars
On February 7, 1962, President Kennedy announced to his staff that he needed some help finding as many of the prestigious Cuban Petit Upmann cigars as possible. He let it be known that he would like to have 1,000 of these cigars by the next morning. Being the President of the United States, his wish was granted when, on the morning of February 8th, his Press Secretary Pierre Salinger came in and deposited 1,200 cigars on Kennedy's desk. Smiling, Kennedy opened his desk, took out a document and signed it, banning importation of all Cuban-made products into the United States. Some years later when asked about that moment, Salinger said that there were actually 1,201 cigars. ~ Hank Bracker
President Kennedy quotes by Hank Bracker
The decision to go to the moon is now appreciated and associated with President Kennedy's speech, but somebody else had told him it was a good idea. It turned out to be a good commitment, but it was a unique situation. ~ Buzz Aldrin
President Kennedy quotes by Buzz Aldrin
President Kennedy was the greatest man I ever met, and the best friend I ever had. ~ David Powers
President Kennedy quotes by David Powers
When President Kennedy took office, I was in the midst of my education. ~ Buzz Aldrin
President Kennedy quotes by Buzz Aldrin
Fortunately, President Kennedy and Robert Kennedy disagreed with the estimate and chose a course of action less ambitious and aggressive than recommended by their advisers. ~ David Kay
President Kennedy quotes by David Kay
Regan blamed President Kennedy for not saving Cuba when he had the chance: 'We have seen an American President walk all the way to the barricade in the Cuban Missile Crisis and lack the will to take the final step to make it successful.' Presumably, the 'final step' would have been an invasion to remove Fidel Castro. ~ Robert Pastor
President Kennedy quotes by Robert Pastor
In 1962, President Kennedy expanded an earlier trade embargo put in place by a predecessor, President Eisenhower, to a total economic blockade, which pushed the Cubans further in Moscow's direction. ~ Tariq Ali
President Kennedy quotes by Tariq Ali
President Kennedy understood the importance of equal pay for equal work and signed historic legislation that gave women around the country hope that one day their wages would be on par with that of their male counterparts. ~ Rosa DeLauro
President Kennedy quotes by Rosa DeLauro
Political issues were interlinked more closely than he had previously imagined. He had always thought that problems such as Berlin and Cuba were separate from each other and had little connection with such issues as civil rights and health care. But President Kennedy had been unable to deal with the Cuban missile crisis without thinking of the repercussions in Germany. And if he had failed to deal with Cuba, the imminent midterm elections would have crippled his domestic program, and made it impossible for him to pass a civil rights bill. Everything was connected. ~ Ken Follett
President Kennedy quotes by Ken Follett
Lydon Johnson realized he really was President, that his identity had changed by President Kennedy's shocking death, when aides who had been like family to him minutes before, stood in his presence on Air Force One. ~ Nancy Gibbs
President Kennedy quotes by Nancy Gibbs
President Kennedy didn't negotiate out of the Cuban missile crisis simply because he and Khrushchev got along well. Khrushchev didn't have the cards. ~ Colin Powell
President Kennedy quotes by Colin Powell
Strength with which President Kennedy dispatched his enemies" - a tribute couched in rather remarkable words: Johnson described Kennedy "when he looks you straight in the eye and puts that knife into you without flinching. ~ Robert A. Caro
President Kennedy quotes by Robert A. Caro
It's amazing to me that, in the 42 years since President Kennedy signed the Equal Pay Act into law, women today still receive fewer wages than men for the same work. ~ Mike Honda
President Kennedy quotes by Mike Honda
Had I been allowed to testify, I would have told them that there is absolutely no doubt in my mind that the bullet that killed President Kennedy was shot from the grassy knoll area. I would have also informed the Warren Commission about the call I received from Lyndon Johnson while we were operating on Lee Harvey Oswald. President Johnson told me that a man in the operating room would get a deathbed confession from Oswald. ~ Charles A. Crenshaw
President Kennedy quotes by Charles A. Crenshaw
President Kennedy was willing to go to war. He was not a coward. The man had been in war and so had Ken O'Donnell. He was ready to protect this nation, but he was not ready for a military solution just because it was being rammed down his throat. ~ Kevin Costner
President Kennedy quotes by Kevin Costner
President Kennedy was a voracious reader and was forever coming up with fascinating bits of information. ~ Pierre Salinger
President Kennedy quotes by Pierre Salinger
On a visit to the space program, President Kennedy asked me about the satellite. I told him that it would be more important than sending a man into space. "Why?" he asked. "Because," I said, "this satellite will send ideas into space, and ideas last longer than men. ~ Newton N. Minnow
President Kennedy quotes by Newton N. Minnow
In April 1962, McGeorge Bundy - the former Harvard dean and now national security adviser to President Kennedy - had Oppenheimer invited to a White House dinner honoring forty-nine Nobel laureates. At this gala affair, Oppie rubbed elbows with such other luminaries as the poet Robert Frost, the astronaut John Glenn and the writer Norman Cousins. Everyone laughed when Kennedy quipped, "I think this is the most extraordinary collection of talent, of human knowledge, that has ever been gathered together at the White House, with the possible exception of when Thomas Jefferson dined alone." Afterwards, ~ Kai Bird
President Kennedy quotes by Kai Bird
The Chinese say that you should never, ever buy a used desk unless you know the history of it. They claim that if it belonged to a bad businessman, his karma will befall you. This one here belonged to President Kennedy. So what do you think that means? (Randy)
I don't know, but if I were you, I wouldn't ride through Dallas in a convertible in November. Bad feng shui. (Steele) ~ Sherrilyn Kenyon
President Kennedy quotes by Sherrilyn Kenyon
When President Kennedy challenged Americans to go to the moon, the question wasn't whether we'd get there, it was only when we'd get there. ~ Mitt Romney
President Kennedy quotes by Mitt Romney
Historians will come to their own judgments about President Kennedy. Here is how I choose to remember him. He was an heir to wealth who felt the anguish of the poor. He was an orator of excellence who spoke for the voiceless. He was a son of Harvard who reached out to the sons and daughters of Appalachia. He was a man of special grace who had a special care for the retarded and handicapped. He was a hero of war who fought hardest for peace. He said and proved in word and deed that one man can make a difference. ~ Edward Kennedy
President Kennedy quotes by Edward Kennedy
Perhaps the book's greatest weakness is its romantic depiction of President Kennedy as a kind of knight in shining armor. ~ Theodore H. White
President Kennedy quotes by Theodore H. White
In the twenty-seven years since the killing of President Kennedy, there has been a good deal of disturbance in the American dream. The cult of individualism, of a man's (nos so often a woman's ) ability and right to pull himself up by his own bootstraps and wit, which lies at the heart of that dream, has produced more Oswalds, more Sirhans, more Mansons and Jim Joneses, than Lincolns, of late. The representative figure of American individualism is no longer that log-cabin-to-White-House President, but rather a lone man with a gun, seeking vengeance against a world that will not conform to his own sense of what has worth. ~ Salman Rushdie
President Kennedy quotes by Salman Rushdie
I believe history will come to view 9/11 as an event on par with November 22, 1963, the date on which John F. Kennedy was murdered, cutting short a presidency that was growing ever more promising. Dreams died that day in Dallas; it is easy to imagine the 1960s turning out rather differently had President Kennedy lived. ~ Jon Meacham
President Kennedy quotes by Jon Meacham
President Kennedy said that those who make peaceful revolution impossible make violent revolution inevitable. I would say that the converse is true. ~ Jacqueline Novogratz
President Kennedy quotes by Jacqueline Novogratz
I am going to build the kind of nation that President Roosevelt hoped for, President Truman worked for, and President Kennedy died for. ~ Lyndon B. Johnson
President Kennedy quotes by Lyndon B. Johnson
Since President Kennedy signed the Equal Pay Act in 1963, the gap between men and women's earnings has narrowed by less than a half-cent per year. At this rate, American women will have to wait until 2062 to bring home the same salary as their male counterparts. ~ Jackie Speier
President Kennedy quotes by Jackie Speier
Others felt that their question had already been answered in the minds of other group members, and if they asked the question, it would be considered a dumb question, and they would be put down as being stupid or not going along with the group. Because people did not ask questions, people lost lives when the Titanic sank, when the Challenger crashed, when President Kennedy authorized a covert attack on the Bay of Pigs in Cuba. ~ Michael J. Marquardt
President Kennedy quotes by Michael J. Marquardt
On several occasions President Kennedy encouraged me to take a lover, an obvious sign he also had some himself. ~ Pierre Salinger
President Kennedy quotes by Pierre Salinger
The Jackal was perfectly aware that in 1963 General de Gaulle was not only the President of France; he was also the most closely and skilfully guarded figure in the Western world. To assassinate him, as was later proved, was considerably more difficult than to kill President John F. Kennedy of the United States. Although the English killer did not know it, French security experts who had through American courtesy been given an opportunity to study the precautions taken to guard the life of President Kennedy had returned somewhat disdainful of those precautions as exercised by the American Secret Service. The French experts rejection of the American methods was later justified when in November 1963 John Kennedy was killed in Dallas by a half-crazed and security-slack amateur while Charles de Gaulle lived on, to retire in peace and eventually to die in his own home. ~ Frederick Forsyth
President Kennedy quotes by Frederick Forsyth
We need the kind of leadership exemplified by President Kennedy to just do it! But we must do it as good stewards, aggressively exerting control over the moon. We can best do this by going there. ~ Wilson Greatbatch
President Kennedy quotes by Wilson Greatbatch
When President Kennedy was elected, many black Americans, like so many Americans, were captivated by his youth and energy and promise and were especially hopeful that he might move the country in a new direction on civil rights. ~ Marian Wright Edelman
President Kennedy quotes by Marian Wright Edelman
Nixon had some large achievements in foreign affairs. They will be remembered. But a president probably gets remembered for one thing, and Watergate will head the Nixon list, I suspect. ~ Bob Woodward
President Kennedy quotes by Bob Woodward
Imagine if we didn't have a President traveling the world bad mouthing America ... that's the UN's job. ~ Marco Rubio
President Kennedy quotes by Marco Rubio
From Bill Clinton speech-
People are more impressed by the power of our example rather than the example of our power ... ~ Bill Clinton
President Kennedy quotes by Bill Clinton
Judy's friend that she has known the longest has just broken up with her boyfriend and is depressed. Judy likes her more now that she is depressed and feels unmotivated in life. Judy feels unmotivated in life. ~ Ellen Kennedy
President Kennedy quotes by Ellen Kennedy
I was delighted to hear that a number of people returned to see Orphée (as much as five or six times), to the amazement of the managements. This is significant, for the cinema is usually regarded as a place where one drops in for a little entertainment as one would for a glass of beer.
This is why film societies, those Courts of Appeal, have so important a part to play, and why they deserve all the support we can give them. This is why I accepted nomination as President of the fédération des Cinéclubs. But, alas, even film societies are sometimes unable to retrieve old films, which the industrial squall sweeps away in order to clear a space for new ones. We had imagined that great actresses like Greta Garbo would be granted the privilege which was denied to a Rachel or a Sarah Bernhardt. But we were wrong. Today it is impossible to show Garbo in The lady of the Camelias for instance, to the young people who could not see the film when it came out, for all the copies have been meticulously destroyed. The lady of the Camelias is to be remade with new stars and new methods, using all the latest technical inventions, colour, three dimensions, and what not. It is a real disaster. Mrs B., the head of the new York Film Library, finds herself confronted with the same difficulties as Langlois of the Cinémathèque française whenever she endeavours to save a film from oblivion. She finds that she cannot obtain a single copy. Chaplin alone escapes that terrible destruction, because h ~ Jean Cocteau
President Kennedy quotes by Jean Cocteau
When you have bacon in your mouth, it doesn't matter who's president. ~ Louis C.K.
President Kennedy quotes by Louis C.K.
I dream of things that are not and ask why not. ~ Robert Kennedy
President Kennedy quotes by Robert Kennedy
There isn't a political price to be paid yet for doing nothing. People need to get upset with President Bush. People need to get upset with their Congressmen. ~ Nicholas D. Kristof
President Kennedy quotes by Nicholas D. Kristof
It's no longer a question of if the American President is a Traitor, but rather if Republican voters are still Americans. ~ Ed Krassenstein
President Kennedy quotes by Ed Krassenstein
I wish President Obama had succeeded because I want America to succeed. But his promises gave way to disappointment and division. This isn't something we have to accept. Now is the moment when we can do something. With your help we will do something. ~ Mitt Romney
President Kennedy quotes by Mitt Romney
The president of Goodwill Industries made $800,000 a year. ~ Larry Brooks
President Kennedy quotes by Larry Brooks
Obama is a clown. You don't have to be a scientist to know that the President doesn't know what he's talking about when he says fossil fuels are the energy of the past. We have more oil than we need. We'll never run out of it. It's all we've got. ~ Rush Limbaugh
President Kennedy quotes by Rush Limbaugh
Barack Obama became president, and he abandoned Iraq. He left, and when he left Al Qaida was done for. ISIS was created because of the void that we left, and that void now exists as a caliphate the size of Indiana. ~ Jeb Bush
President Kennedy quotes by Jeb Bush
We saw the president of the United States engage American troops in a fourth conflict in a foreign land. This is historic. ~ Michele Bachmann
President Kennedy quotes by Michele Bachmann
The Girl Guides kept up their activities as well, giving Elizabeth an unexpectedly democratic experience when refugees from London's bomb-ravaged East End were taken in by families on the Windsor estate and joined the troop. The girls earned their cooking badges, with instruction from a castle housekeeper, by baking cakes and scones (a talent Elizabeth would later display for a U.S. president) and making stew and soup. With their Cockney accents and rough ways, the refugees gave the future Queen no deference, calling her Lilibet, the nickname even daughters of aristocrats were forbidden to use, and compelling her to wash dishes in an oily tub of water ~ Sally Bedell Smith
President Kennedy quotes by Sally Bedell Smith
Perhaps I should have been a Negro. I suspect I would have been a rather large and terrifying one, continually pressing my ample thigh against the withered thighs of old white ladies in public conveyances a great deal and eliciting more than one shriek of panic. Then, too, if I were a Negro, I would not be pressured by my mother to find a good job, for no good jobs would be available. My mother herself, a worn old Negress, would be too broken by years of underpaid labor as a domestic to go out bowling at night. She and I could live most pleasantly in some moldy shack in the slums in a state of ambitionless peace, realizing contentedly that we were unwanted, that striving was meaningless. ~ John Kennedy Toole
President Kennedy quotes by John Kennedy Toole
You know, I just had a thought," he drawled.

"Is that a new occurence for you? Is your brain tingling?"

Cash and Jen ~ Elle Kennedy
President Kennedy quotes by Elle Kennedy
I like thieves. Some of my best friends are thieves. Why, just last week we had the president of the bank over for dinner. ~ W.C. Fields
President Kennedy quotes by W.C. Fields
1990 was a totally political time. George Bush was president, people were dying of AIDS, a lot of our friends, and there was no money being spent by the government either on AIDS or art. So a lot of extreme sexual and political work was made at that time. It was in response to the situation. But that kind of "edgy" political work wasn't exactly what I was doing. I felt a little like my mother. I just wasn't surprised that the government wouldn't support this work. What would you expect. I had personally grown up in a world of total censorship so I wasn't surprised to see politicians wanting to take money away from the art that was explicitly talking about this entire reality of ours. It seemed like the real desire from them (the politicians) was to have no description. That's what they would have paid for. ...Doing their business, wars or whatever, behind the scenes and meanwhile propagating a giant nothing which has become a something the government and the media have only perfected since. To a very large extent people don't even know. I mean it's kind of the great product of this country. The American Way. A big nothing. A cataclysmic unawareness in the face of evil. ~ Eileen Myles
President Kennedy quotes by Eileen Myles
No one who works for a living should live in poverty. ~ Edward Kennedy
President Kennedy quotes by Edward Kennedy
Clearly while the president is overseas, he's at a conference and while the president is overseas I think it's appropriate that people not be critical of him or our country. ~ John Boehner
President Kennedy quotes by John Boehner
President Obama has called for economic and political empowerment of women globally. The Equal Futures Partnership promotes removal of policy, legal, and regulatory barriers that hold women back at local, state and national levels. ~ Lael Brainard
President Kennedy quotes by Lael Brainard
Kennedy snorted at that..."Sorry. I just...I don't spend a lot of time with people who let rules get in the way of doing the right thing." She grimaced. Maybe she shouldn't be admitting that. ~ Erin Nicholas
President Kennedy quotes by Erin Nicholas
The President looked out of his window. He was not very happy. I worry about Bill, Hubert, Henry, Kevin, Edward, Clem, Dan and their lover, Snow White. I sense that all is not well with them. Now, looking out over this green lawn, and these fine rosebushes, and into the night and the yellow buildings, and the falling Dow Jones Index and the screams of the poor, I am concerned. I have many important things to worry about, but I worry about Bill and the boys too. Because I am the President. Finally. the President of the whole fucking country. And they are Americans, Bill, Hubert, Henry, Kevin, Edward, Clem, Dan and Snow White. They are Americans. My Americans. ~ Donald Barthelme
President Kennedy quotes by Donald Barthelme
President Bush says he is looking forward to the testimony of Condoleezza Rice. Yes, he is very excited about Condoleezza Rice's testimony before Congress. Well, it makes perfect sense - he wants to know what was going on, too. ~ David Letterman
President Kennedy quotes by David Letterman
Take the life issue. This issue requires a president and an administration leading our nation to understand the importance of life. This whole faith-based initiative really ties into a larger cultural issue that we're working on. It begins to affect the life issue, as well as the human dignity issue, because when you're talking about welcoming people of faith to help people who are disadvantaged and are unable to defend themselves, the logical step is also those babies. ~ George W. Bush
President Kennedy quotes by George W. Bush
President Hinckley is not only a living prophet but also a living seer. He sees things that others do not see. He has the gift of discernment; he is an optimist and a realist ... Through President Hinckley's divine guidance, the Church has received many far-reaching blessings, many that are not obvious. I strongly encourage each of you to more closely follow his counsel and guidance, for truly 'a seer hath the Lord raised up unto his people' (Moses 6:36). ~ David E. Sorensen
President Kennedy quotes by David E. Sorensen
The people I really most admire are Robert Kennedy and Franklin Roosevelt. If you know someone, it is very hard to revere them. ~ Ken Livingstone
President Kennedy quotes by Ken Livingstone
President Bush should be indicted and should be driven out of office. He should be sent back home in Texas. ~ Bianca Jagger
President Kennedy quotes by Bianca Jagger
I mention Jackie mostly because I want to be assured that I inhabit the same universe as other people; that I am not alone on a distant shore. Jackie glues me to this world - most effectively when I can find a way to mention her name or her attributes, when I can find a pretext, however frail, to introduce her into a conversation, even at the risk of non sequitur, bathos, or incoherence. ~ Wayne Koestenbaum
President Kennedy quotes by Wayne Koestenbaum
When you're putting together a campaign for president, like I've been, that entails a lot of time. It's not like I've been at the beach sipping a pina colada. ~ Ted Cruz
President Kennedy quotes by Ted Cruz
Unfortunately, these past few years, you can work hard, try to be as successful as possible, follow the rules, and President Barack Obama will do everything he can to stand in your way. ~ Nikki Haley
President Kennedy quotes by Nikki Haley
There is not a single person in the national defense apparatus of this country that can guarantee you are going to be 100 percent right. And that's why as president, I'll take this very seriously. ~ Marco Rubio
President Kennedy quotes by Marco Rubio
I think [President George W. Bush] contributed very directly to the fact that the status of America as the world's only superpower lasted for 20 years at most. ~ Zbigniew Brzezinski
President Kennedy quotes by Zbigniew Brzezinski
But history will judge you, and as the years pass, you will ultimately judge yourself, in the extent to which you have used your gifts and talents to lighten and enrich the lives of your fellow men. In your hands lies the future of your world and the fulfillment of the best qualities of your own spirit. ~ Robert Kennedy
President Kennedy quotes by Robert Kennedy
Raising taxes is the last thing we should do amid the weakest economic recovery since World War II. Unfortunately, even if we avoid the full 'Taxmageddon' scenario, President Obama's health care law also contains a new surtax on investment that will take effect in 2013. ~ John Cornyn
President Kennedy quotes by John Cornyn
"Hail to the Chief" was played, and the President got up and made a gracious opening remark. "I've been in this office for six years, and yet every time I hear that music, I turn around wondering who they're playing it for." ~ Kirk Douglas
President Kennedy quotes by Kirk Douglas
Tanzania is standing by the people of Zimbabwe including President Mugabe ... Mugabe is there, he is president, he has been elected. If Tanzania had simply said, stupid, you're hopeless, a murderer, a violator of basic human rights; does that remove Mugabe from office? It doesn't. ~ Jakaya Kikwete
President Kennedy quotes by Jakaya Kikwete
We are still waiting for the president to introduce a concrete plan. He has just hinted at what he is thinking about doing, but no one has seen a proposal. ~ Grace Napolitano
President Kennedy quotes by Grace Napolitano
Should I say it again?" He looked confused for a beat, but then it turned to wariness. "I've never said that to anyone before. Am I supposed to give a longer speech or something?" A laugh flew out. Oh God. This man was priceless. Sofia finally found her voice. "You love me?" "Yeah, I do. I probably should have led with that, but the state of your fucking house really pisses me off and I got sidetracked. ~ Elle Kennedy
President Kennedy quotes by Elle Kennedy
Barack Obama has brought glamour back to American politics - not the faux glamour-by-association of campaigning with movie stars or sailing with the Kennedys, but the real thing. The candidate himself is glamorous. Audiences project onto him the personal qualities and political positions they want in a president. ~ Virginia Postrel
President Kennedy quotes by Virginia Postrel
A Ted Kennedy, John Kerry, John Edwards, Howard Dean, George Soros, or Al Gore looks - no, acts - like he either came out of a hairstylist's salon or got off a Gulfstream. ~ Victor Davis Hanson
President Kennedy quotes by Victor Davis Hanson
I don't remember a single day during the time I was minister of gender, foreign minister, vice-president and president when I saw anything on the part of the men that indicated they were undermining me. ~ Joyce Banda
President Kennedy quotes by Joyce Banda
When, in 2012, Newt Gingrich was asked about how his religious beliefs would affect his conduct should he become president, the Republican nominee hopeful answered, "One of the reasons I am running is there has been an increasingly aggressive war against religion and in particular against Christianity" in the United States. For a potential president to state that he sees himself as a wartime candidate who will defend his party against other citizens is astonishing. There is not even a pretense here of "united states". ~ Candida R. Moss
President Kennedy quotes by Candida R. Moss
The easiest way to make something cool is to get cool people to do it. Part of this might mean the president has to forget tensions with opponents, or people like Arnold Schwarzenegger who has actually been decent with oil issues. Maybe he needs to pull some of the cool people in and make them model the right behaviors. ~ Denis Hayes
President Kennedy quotes by Denis Hayes
I spent a lot of time with President Mandela supporting his efforts in the peace process in Burundi. The thing that impressed me the most was his humility. ~ John Prendergast
President Kennedy quotes by John Prendergast
As President, I will end once and for all the use of taxpayer funds to promote the National Endowment for the Arts and other programs that subsidize amoral and degrading activities. ~ Gary Bauer
President Kennedy quotes by Gary Bauer
