All the present bureaucracies of political governments, great religious organizations, and all big businesses find that physical success for all humanity would be devastating to the perpetuation of their ongoing activities. This is because all of them are founded on the premise of ameliorating individual cases while generally exploiting on behalf of their respective political, religious, or business organizations the condition of no-where-nearly-enough-life-support-for-all and its resultant great human suffering and discontent. ~ R. Buckminster Fuller
Political Governments quotes by R. Buckminster Fuller
America truly is the best idea for a country that anyone has ever come up with so far. Not only because we value democracy and the rights of the individual, but because we are always our own most effective voice of descent ... We must never mistake disagreement between Americans on political or moral issues to be an indication of their level of patriotism. If you don't like what I say or don't agree with where I stand on certain issues, then good. I'm glad we're in America, and don't have to oppress each other over it. We're not just a nation, we're not an ethnicity. We are a dream of justice that people have had for a thousand years. ~ Craig Ferguson
Political Governments quotes by Craig Ferguson
Yes, and you should question your government. ~ Jessica Lange
Political Governments quotes by Jessica Lange
People that had the guts to put their loyalty to the Constitution ahead of their loyalty to their political party were citizen legislators. ~ Tom Coburn
Political Governments quotes by Tom Coburn
I'm also honored to be here with the speaker of the House - just happens to be from the state of Illinois. I'd like to describe the speaker as a trustworthy man. He's the kind of fellow who says when he gives you his word he means it. Sometimes that doesn't happen all the time in the political process. ~ George W. Bush
Political Governments quotes by George W. Bush
If the private sectors are about markets and the public sectors are about governments, then the plural sector is about communities. ~ Henry Mintzberg
Political Governments quotes by Henry Mintzberg
As a black woman, my politics and political affiliation are bound up with and flow from participation in my people's struggle for liberation, and with the fight of oppressed people all over the world against American imperialism. ~ Angela Davis
Political Governments quotes by Angela Davis
My mother was addicted to being rich, to servants and unlimited charge accounts, to giving lavish dinner parties, to taking frequent first-class trips to Europe. So one might say she was tormented by withdrawal symptoms all through the Great Depression. She was acculturated! Acculturated persons are those who find that they are no longer treated as the sort of people they thought they were, because the outside world has changed. An economic misfortune or a new technology, or being conquered by another country or political faction, can do that to people quicker than you can say "Jack Robinson." As Trout wrote in his "An American Family Marooned on the Planet Pluto": "Nothing wrecks any kind of love more effectively than the discovery that your previously acceptable behavior has become ridiculous." He said in conversation at the 2001 clambake: "If I hadn't learned how to live without a culture and a society, acculturation would have broken my heart a thousand times." *** ~ Kurt Vonnegut Jr.
Political Governments quotes by Kurt Vonnegut Jr.
Rainforest land is mistakenly valued solely for the worth of its timber, mining and oil resources by short-sighted corporations and governments. ~ Chris Kilham
Political Governments quotes by Chris Kilham
If the political will is there, we can solve anything. ~ Martti Ahtisaari
Political Governments quotes by Martti Ahtisaari
Political Economy means that everybody except politicians must be economical. ~ G.K. Chesterton
Political Governments quotes by G.K. Chesterton
A guy named Adolf Hitler won an election in 1932 ... and 50 million people died as a result ... what I learned as a little kid is that politics is, in fact, very important. ~ Bernie Sanders
Political Governments quotes by Bernie Sanders
In his book Politics, which is the foundation of the study of political systems, and very interesting, Aristotle talked mainly about Athens. But he studied various political systems - oligarchy, monarchy - and didn't like any of the particularly. He said democracy is probably the best system, but it has problems, and he was concerned with the problems. One problem that he was concerned with is quite striking because it runs right up to the present. He pointed out that in a democracy, if the people - people didn't mean people, it meant freemen, not slaves, not women - had the right to vote, the poor would be the majority, and they would use their voting power to take away property from the rich, which wouldn't be fair, so we have to prevent this.

James Madison made the same pint, but his model was England. He said if freemen had democracy, then the poor farmers would insist on taking property from the rich. They would carry out what we these days call land reform. and that's unacceptable. Aristotle and Madison faced the same problem but made the opposite decisions. Aristotle concluded that we should reduce ineqality so the poor wouldn't take property from the rich. And he actually propsed a visin for a city that would put in pace what we today call welfare-state programs, common meals, other support systems. That would reduce inequality, and with it the problem of the poor taking property from the rich. Madison's decision was the opposite. We should reduce democracy ~ Noam Chomsky
Political Governments quotes by Noam Chomsky
It's become unfashionable to celebrate political achievement, and Labour achievement even less so. And it's positively uncouth to be proud of something that this Labour government is doing. So, slam me for saying so, but I'm really proud of the NHS. ~ Lucy Powell
Political Governments quotes by Lucy Powell
The Republicans have put together serious detailed counter-proposals when we have objected to this administration's agenda. And so, I want to tell the President and remind him again, we're not voting no for political expediency. We've got our principles, and we're going to stand up and defend those. ~ Eric Cantor
Political Governments quotes by Eric Cantor
Political democracy cannot flourish under all economic conditions. Democracy requires an economic system which supports the political ideals of liberty and equality for all. Men cannot exercise freedom in the political sphere when they are deprived of it in the economic sphere. ~ Mortimer Adler
Political Governments quotes by Mortimer Adler
They are an American Delegation who are doing a tour of the region to apologize for the crusades', said Arafat. Then he, and his guest, burst out laughing. They both knew that America had little or no involvement in the wars of the eleventh to thirteenth centuries. But Arafat, at any rate, was happy to indulge the affliction of anyone who believed they had and use it to his own political advantage. ~ Douglas Murray
Political Governments quotes by Douglas Murray
Capitalism is the exploitation of man by man. Yes? Well socialism is exactly the reverse. ~ Len Deighton
Political Governments quotes by Len Deighton
The United States cannot reshape other countries in its own image and that, with a few exceptions, its efforts to police the world are neither in its interests nor within the scope of its resources. This whole tendency to see ourselves as the center of political enlightenment and as teachers to a great part of the rest of the world strikes me as unthought-through, vainglorious and undesirable. ~ George F. Kennan
Political Governments quotes by George F. Kennan
I am an old, old friend of Aaron Sorkin's, who is the executive producer and writer. He had been talking about doing a political show for a long time and I had been interested in it for a long time. The moment I became available, he called me last year and asked me if I wanted to do it and then I just had to audition for the powers that be, and I got it. ~ Bradley Whitford
Political Governments quotes by Bradley Whitford
We shall learn the qualities of governments in the same way as we learn the qualities of individuals, since they are revealed in their deliberate acts of choice; and these are determined by the end that inspires them. ~ Aristotle.
Political Governments quotes by Aristotle.
We are here to let in the light of Liberty upon political superstition. ~ Benjamin Tucker
Political Governments quotes by Benjamin Tucker
To a degree that can scarcely be imagined today, the bomb became a common mode of American political expression. In 1972, there were 1,962 actual and attempted bombings in the United States, with twenty-five people killed; in 1973, 1,955 bombings, with twenty-two killed; in 1974, 2,044 bombings, with twenty-four killed. The ~ Jeffrey Toobin
Political Governments quotes by Jeffrey Toobin
I care nothing for all the political parties in the world except as they stand for justice. ~ Anna Howard Shaw
Political Governments quotes by Anna Howard Shaw
Every choice we make is a testament to our autonomy, to our sense of self-determination. Almost every social, moral, or political philosopher in the Western tradition since Plato has placed a premium on such autonomy. And each new expansion of choice gives us another opportunity to assert our autonomy, and this display our character. ~ Barry Schwartz
Political Governments quotes by Barry Schwartz
When, thirty-five years ago, I tried to give a summary of the ideas and principles of that social philosophy that was once known under the name of liberalism, I did not indulge in the vain hope that my account would prevent the impending catastrophes to which the policies adopted by the European nations were manifestly leading. All I wanted to achieve was to offer to the small minority of thoughtful people an opportunity to learn something about the aims of classical liberalism and its achievements and thus to pave the way for a resurrection of the spirit of freedom after the coming debacle. ~ Ludwig Von Mises
Political Governments quotes by Ludwig Von Mises
Governments have persistently tried their best to promote, encourage, and expand the circulation of bank and government paper, and to discourage the people's use of gold itself. ~ Murray Rothbard
Political Governments quotes by Murray Rothbard
Collective violence has flowed regularly out of the central political processes of western countries... The oppressed have struck in the name of justice, the privileged in the name of order, the in-between in the name of fear. ~ Charles Tilly
Political Governments quotes by Charles Tilly
Innate censors and motivators exist in the brain that deeply and unconsciously affect our ethical premises; from these roots, morality evolved as instinct. If that perception is correct, science may soon be in a position to investigate the very origin and meaning of human values, from which all ethical pronouncements and much of political practice flow. ~ Edward O. Wilson
Political Governments quotes by Edward O. Wilson
There is no suggestion of regime change; quite the contrary, this is an initiative to help people and to help governments who are inclined toward change. ~ Colin Powell
Political Governments quotes by Colin Powell
However [political parties] may now and then answer popular ends, they are likely in the course of time and things, to become potent engines, by which cunning, ambitious, and unprincipled men will be enabled to subvert the power of the people and to usurp for themselves the reins of government, destroying afterwards the very engines which have lifted them to unjust dominion. ~ George Washington
Political Governments quotes by George Washington
Philanthropists today want input into how their monies are being deployed. The big question is, can governments use this insight to sell the rich the idea of paying more tax rather than spend more on charitable giving? ~ Noreena Hertz
Political Governments quotes by Noreena Hertz
A stable and prosperous DRC is the victory of the World. Congo is a deciding factor for Africa's development whether we like it or not. ~ Ahmed Padia Binkatabana
Political Governments quotes by Ahmed Padia Binkatabana
I know thy works, that thou are neither cold nor hot; I would that thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spew thee out of my mouth. ~ Rosa Luxemburg
Political Governments quotes by Rosa Luxemburg
I do miss the excitement of seeing history up close, of having intimate knowledge, through direct experience, of what happens when people and governments clash, but I do not miss the danger or the constant displacement. ~ Deborah Copaken Kogan
Political Governments quotes by Deborah Copaken Kogan
I was born on a farm. My strength has nothing to do with political apparatus. I get my strength from nature, from flowers. ~ Ariel Sharon
Political Governments quotes by Ariel Sharon
There seem to me to be very few facts, at least ascertainable facts, in politics. ~ Robert Peel
Political Governments quotes by Robert Peel
We wanted to describe society from our Left point of view. Per had written political books, but they'd only sold 300 copies. We realised that people read crime and through the stories we could show the reader that under the official image of welfare-state Sweden there was another layer of poverty, criminality and brutality. ~ Maj Sjowall
Political Governments quotes by Maj Sjowall
Donald Trump telling Jimmy Fallon to be a "man", is like a turtle telling a cheetah to "run faster".

Being a "man" means having compassion for children, not cheating on all of your wives, and being strong enough to admit your mistakes, rather than lying to cover them up! ~ Ed Krassenstein
Political Governments quotes by Ed Krassenstein
The central miscalculation of the Religious Right has been its failure to recognize the real nature of the battle, how long it's been waged, and the high price we've been willing to pay for entry into the political theater. I write as an evangelical Christian who once believed that America is a Christian nation that lost its way. I'm still an evangelical Christian, but I no longer believe that this nation, or any nation in this fallen world, can truly be 'under God. ~ Michael Babcock
Political Governments quotes by Michael Babcock
No country can police corruption in other countries when it itself is not free from corruption. You cannot clean a dirty wall with dirty hands. ~ Suzy Kassem
Political Governments quotes by Suzy Kassem
To sum up: politically speaking, it is insufficient to say that power and violence are not the same. Power and violence are opposites; where the one rules absolutely, the other is absent. ~ Hannah Arendt
Political Governments quotes by Hannah Arendt
I think I developed a culture of healthy skepticism of claims of certainty on any side of the aisle. A sort of boldness in using economics no matter where it leads you in political circles, you know, rather than worrying about being left-wing or right-wing or biased or this or that. ~ David Plotz
