Allow me to close my eyes so I can see you again, ~ J. AnnRey
Poems On Love quotes by J. AnnRey
Something in you
cannot bear something in me.
The storm we're in,
so far from stillness.
Maybe, one day, I'll understand you better,
in a tiny space
between two thoughts. ~ Tatjana Ostojic
Poems On Love quotes by Tatjana Ostojic
I will always remember the way you spill your smile all over me like the rain. ~ Nichomachus
Poems On Love quotes by Nichomachus
In my heart is a space
that is so sacred
and none can enter in
but you.

And I shall wait for you
though it takes forever,
though my heart bleeds
and my all consumed.

I wait because I love you
And love waits
for the only one
that it loves. ~ Jocelyn Soriano
Poems On Love quotes by Jocelyn Soriano
Helplessly
I am consumed
Into the darkness of your soul
Wanton eyes lured me
Dangerously to your abyss
Where I needed to lose myself
Just to find your world
Helplessly
I am consumed
- Into the Darkness - ~ Mystqx Skye
Poems On Love quotes by Mystqx Skye
In each thrust, I pray... that I may be able to fill that longing she has in her soul. Giving her body if even only a few seconds of respite - as she forgets the void from embracing everything in my beastly world... ~ Mystqx Skye
Poems On Love quotes by Mystqx Skye
Just as the leaves know they belong to the trees, so do I to you. ~ Gin Love Thompson
Poems On Love quotes by Gin Love Thompson
To retreat in my aloneness,
my beautifully peaceful garden,
to find shade under my heart,
in the solitude of abundance,
without you in sight. ~ Tatjana Ostojic
Poems On Love quotes by Tatjana Ostojic
Like A Hanged Pitcher
Like a hanged pitcher,
No drink is pouring off me
It's natural to get numbed gradually.

Pig-headed seashells!
This boasting sky,
Is an anchor
which has fallen on my lap
This dizzy sky!
The moon's been cleared
A shadow's coming after me
Barefooted on my dreams
You used to run!

Enjoyed?!
Numb!

All my veins are connected to this land...

Like a hanged pitcher
Joyful of this sky
One day a huge whale swallowed it as a whole.

And it was over!
The Gulf was over!
You waved hands.

Like a hanged pitcher,
It's simple!
I lost the game
And gambled away...

(TRANSLATED FROM ORIGINAL PERSIAN TO ENGLISH BY ROSA JAMALI) ~ Rosa Jamali
Poems On Love quotes by Rosa Jamali
it's easy to look back and romanticize the bits of time when you were first getting to know someone. both of you were looking at each other the same way you have to look at the sun when it's in the middle of the sky; squinting because it's so bright. ~ Madisen Kuhn
Poems On Love quotes by Madisen Kuhn
And as the Moon eclipsed,
sulking in envy, he wailed to the Earth
"I wonder how you could never see,
My deep Love for you - illuminating, beautifying your world when the
Sun leaves you hurled...

But despite it all,
you still revolve around the Sun,
who shuns you here in the dark,
half the run."

The Earth confessed with teary eyes
still retaining a smile
"It is not the Sun that leaves me,
It is me who turns away, blocking his light.
But yet his love for me is far more magnanimous,
for he lights you up to render me luminous."

Cosmic Love ~ Drishti Bablani
Poems On Love quotes by Drishti Bablani
I have not known who I were
until you introduced me to my heart. ~ Tatjana Ostojic
Poems On Love quotes by Tatjana Ostojic
You shouldn't lose sleep over somebody any more than they should lose sleep over you. But you do, we all do.

And we call this love. ~ Courtney Peppernell
Poems On Love quotes by Courtney Peppernell
The world crashed on me. I smiled like an idiot as I stood up and rushed away hoping he'd forget we had ever spoken. I walked away from the Company and Sonia, but mostly from Giovanni. I had finally met an awesome guy who did not look like a thug and he was four years older than me? ~ Gaia B. Amman
Poems On Love quotes by Gaia B. Amman
And yet the king and his people did not love McAllister. In truth, they hated him horribly, and, to my knowledge, the whole population, with the priests at the head, tried vainly for three months to pray him to death. The devil-devils they sent after him were awe-inspiring, but since McAllister did not believe in devil-devils, they were without power over him. With drunken Scotchmen all signs fail. They gathered up scraps of food which had touched his lips, an empty whiskey bottle, a cocoanut from which he had drunk, and even his spittle, and performed all kinds of deviltries over them. But McAllister lived on. His health was superb. He never caught fever; nor coughs nor colds; dysentery passed him by; and the malignant ulcers and vile skin diseases that attack blacks and whites alike in that climate never fastened upon him. He must have been so saturated with alcohol as to defy the lodgment of germs. I used to imagine them falling to the ground in showers of microscopic cinders as fast as they entered his whiskey-sodden aura. No one loved him, not even germs, while he loved only whiskey, and still he lived. ~ Jack London
Poems On Love quotes by Jack London
History will never change because of politics or conquests or theories or wars; that's mere repitition, it's been going on since the beginning of time. History will only change when we are able to use the energy of love, just as we use energy of the wind, the seas, the atom. ~ Paulo Coelho
Poems On Love quotes by Paulo Coelho
Most of the books and films I love walk a knife edge between romance and cynicism, and I wanted 'One Day' to stay on that line. I wanted it to be moving, but without being manipulative. ~ David Nicholls
Poems On Love quotes by David Nicholls
Love, my dear, is the opium of the masses, and once people get high on it, they will trample you like wild horses. ~ Yanko Tsvetkov
Poems On Love quotes by Yanko Tsvetkov
Insofar as craft and poetics in a poem have a politics, I wanted to avoid that brittle enjambed-prose-sentence-lyric verse, where you have standard sentences snapped off and scattered decoratively across the page (which I might go out on a limb and say was characteristic of some leftist poets, Beat poets, street poets and populist poets of the 70s and 80s - all of whom I basically view as comrades, I should probably say, to this day) and on the other hand I also wanted my poetics to operate differently than those more right-wing academics - in practice - even if in their poems or statements they proclaim public leftist views or ideas - they remain academic poets, operating in elite university-supported circles, institutionalized and reading before institutional audiences, awarding grants and awards to each other, sitting on each other's grants panels, awards and tenure committees, as Philip Levine admitted in an interview in Don't Ask, 'giving prizes to friends. ~ Sesshu Foster
Poems On Love quotes by Sesshu Foster
All I know is that it'll never be safe for me to rely on someone else again, to need constant reassurance of who I am and who I might someday be. I can love him, but I can't depend on him to be my backbone. I can't be my own person if I constantly require someone else to hold me together. ~ Tahereh Mafi
Poems On Love quotes by Tahereh Mafi
Oh, don't get me started! I love fantasy, I read it for pleasure, even after all these years. Pat McKillip, Ursula Le Guin and John Crowley are probably my favorite writers in the field, in addition to all the writers in the Endicott Studio group - but there are many others I also admire. In children's fantasy, I'm particularly keen on Philip Pullman, Donna Jo Napoli, David Almond and Jane Yolen - though my favorite novels recently were Midori Snyder's Hannah's Garden, Holly Black's Tithe, and Neil Gaiman's Coraline.

I read a lot of mainstream fiction as well - I particularly love Alice Hoffman, A.S. Byatt, Sara Maitland, Sarah Waters, Sebastian Faulks, and Elizabeth Knox. There's also a great deal of magical fiction by Native American authors being published these days - Louise Erdrich's Antelope Wife, Alfredo Vea Jr.'s Maravilla, Linda Hogan's Power, and Susan Power's Grass Dancer are a few recent favorites.

I'm a big fan of Jane Austen, Charlotte Bronte, Charles Dickens, and Anthony Trollope - I re-read Jane Austen's novels in particular every year.Other fantasists say they read Tolkien every year, but for me it's Austen. I adore biographies, particularly biographies of artists and writers (and particularly those written by Michael Holroyd). And I love books that explore the philosophical side of art, such as Lewis Hyde's The Gift, Carolyn Heilbrun's Writing a Woman's Life, or David Abram's Spell of the Sensuous.

(from a 2002 interview) ~ Terri Windling
Poems On Love quotes by Terri Windling
I'm proud of myself
So it's okay if you're ashamed of me.
I'm happy with what I've accomplished
So it's okay if you're not impressed by me.
I've done what many can't
So it's okay if you don't believe in me.
I love the things I compile
So it's okay if you think I cramp your style.
I've done it by myself
But I'll help you should you ever call on me. ~ Neha Yazmin
Poems On Love quotes by Neha Yazmin
I love winning and any team I'm on, I expect to win. ~ Landon Donovan
Poems On Love quotes by Landon Donovan
Go ahead. Ask me who the father is."
He only smiled. "Do I look that stupid to you?"
She pushed back her short hair with a sigh. "He doesn't know, and you're not to tell him. In English, Apache or Lakota," she emphasized, covering all her bases.
He nodded. "What are you going to do?"
"I haven't the slightest idea," she confessed. "I only used the home-pregnancy test this morning, but I was pretty sure before then. I've got to find a place to live where Leta won't see me for a while. I can't risk having her tell Tate." She glanced at him. "Where were you all this time?" she wanted to know.
"Sitting calmly in a wing chair sipping coffee and trying to look invisible." He lifted his eyebrows at her disbelieving expression. "Somebody had to keep his head."
"There's an old saying that, if you can keep your head when everyone around you is losing theirs, you don't have a clue what's going on," she misquoted.
"Could be. But I'm not sporting a bruised face, like some I could name." He leaned forward. "Want to marry me?"
"Thanks, Colby," she said softly. "I really mean it. But it wouldn't be fair to any of us. Especially you."
He folded his arms and leaned back. "The offer doesn't have a time limit. I really do love children. ~ Diana Palmer
Poems On Love quotes by Diana Palmer
Portland was a dream both in the literal sense and the metaphorical sense, both tangible and not - a fleeting affair you want to hold on to but can't, so you try memorizing her every detail only to fail to do so in the consumption, in the savoring, in the absorbing of yourself into her. When she's gone, she comes to you in snippets, replaying in your mind like a fragmented picture show. ~ Jackie Haze, Borderless
Poems On Love quotes by Jackie Haze, Borderless
But you cannot deny, that man and woman are mortal enemies, in your serene sunlit world as well as in our foggy one. In love there is union into a single being for a short time only, capable of only one thought, one sensation, one will, in order to be then further disunited. And you know this better than I; whichever of the two fails to subjugate will soon feel the feet of the other on his neck - ~ Leopold Von Sacher-Masoch
Poems On Love quotes by Leopold Von Sacher-Masoch
I still couldn't accept that Trevor was a loser and a moron. I didn't want to believe that I could have degraded myself for someone who didn't deserve it. I was still stuck on that bit of vanity. But I was determined to sleep it away. ~ Ottessa Moshfegh
Poems On Love quotes by Ottessa Moshfegh
To deny the existence of God would be to close your eyes to the beauty around you, to close your ears to the symphony of nature, to close your nostrils to the scents wafting on the breeze, to close your mouth to the delicacies of nourishment, to close your hands to the feel of luxury, to close your mind to the ability to think, and to close your heart to the only love that can penetrate the depths of the soul. For in Him all things consist, in Him we live, and move, and have our being, and without Him we cannot help but be fools. ~ J.E.B. Spredemann
Poems On Love quotes by J.E.B. Spredemann
Elizabeth Bennett needs to chill" . . "Love is just a transaction. We're all hardwired to desire. We present the correct set of desirable traits and boom! We can turn it on or we can turn it off."
- Hardin ~ Anna Todd (Author Of After)
Poems On Love quotes by Anna Todd (Author Of After)
When you're on the street, and, as you're walking along, a woman turns the corner going away from you, and for an instant you have a glimpse of the side of her face, of the gesture of her shoulder, the shape of her body, and you are committed ... You are in love for an instant, or your senses are rocked for an instant. That person then disappears and is lost to you forever ... ~ Joel Meyerowitz
Poems On Love quotes by Joel Meyerowitz
TV actors are doing great in Bollywood. We have our own market, our own fans, who love to see us on the big screen. ~ Mona Singh
Poems On Love quotes by Mona Singh
If you are a reader, you are already halfway to being a writer," she says. "For you have a love of words and pleasure from seeing them on a page. And if you are a writer, then you will find that you are driven to write. It is a gift that demands to be shared. You cannot be a silent singer. ~ Philippa Gregory
Poems On Love quotes by Philippa Gregory
Reading LOVE JUNKIE is like watching a sleepwalker taking a stroll on a freeway. All you can do is pray. Gorgeously written, piercingly honest. ~ Janet Fitch
Poems On Love quotes by Janet Fitch
Don't wait for some miracle to be performed on you from without, lifting you above your fears and doubts and self-centeredness. You help God from within by turning in outgoing love to others, and miraculously your fears and doubts and self-centeredness will vanish. The miracle starts within, not from without. ~ E. Stanley Jones
Poems On Love quotes by E. Stanley Jones
God, you're so sweet." He holds my face in his hands and kisses me deeply. I slowly unzip his hoodie and touch a hand to his bare chest. I relish in the feel of it. Barely an hour ago I was admiring it from afar, and now it's no longer just a tease. When I slide my hand down to his stomach, he groans and his hands slip just under my shirt. "So that's why you didn't want to change." I can feel his smile against my lips. "You just wanted me to take your clothes off for you."

"Guilty." I lift my arms for him to pull it off. Instead of returning to kissing me, his eyes roam down my body. I fight the urge to cover myself; even though my bra is still on, I feel exposed. His hands lightly touch each side along the seam. My breath catches in my throat.

Meeting my eyes, he says, "You're so damn beautiful." He leans forward, pressing a soft kiss in between my breasts. I shiver at the light touch of his lips to my sensitive skin. If this is how he makes me feel with such little contact, then how will the rest of this feel? The need is building inside like a spark starting a fire. ~ Lilly Avalon
Poems On Love quotes by Lilly Avalon
It occured to her that pleasure, no matter how deep, was a ghostly, ephemeral thing. Love might make the world go round, but she was convinced it ws the cries of the badly wounded andf deeply afflicted which spun the universe on the great glass pole of it's axis. ~ Stephen King
Poems On Love quotes by Stephen King
From time to time our national history has been marred by forgetfulness of the Jeffersonian principle that restraint is at the heart of liberty. In 1789 the Federalists adopted Alien and Sedition Acts in a shabby political effort to isolate the Republic from the world and to punish political criticism as seditious libel. In 1865 the Radical Republicans sought to snare private conscience in a web of oaths and affirmations of loyalty. Spokesmen for the South did service for the Nation in resisting the petty tyranny of distrustful vengeance. In the 1920's the Attorney General of the United States degraded his office by hunting political radicals as if they were Salem witches. The Nation's only gain from his efforts were the classic dissents of Holmes and Brandeis.

In our own times, the old blunt instruments have again been put to work. The States have followed in the footsteps of the Federalists and have put Alien and Sedition Acts upon their statute books. An epidemic of loyalty oaths has spread across the Nation until no town or village seems to feel secure until its servants have purged themselves of all suspicion of non-conformity by swearing to their political cleanliness.

Those who love the twilight speak as if public education must be training in conformity, and government support of science be public aid of caution.

We have also seen a sharpening and refinement of abusive power. The legislative investigation, designed and often exercised ~ John F. Kennedy
Poems On Love quotes by John F. Kennedy
Dad. I love that you aren't afraid to carry around romance novels with almost-naked men on the cover and hand them out as "tips" to waitresses, hairdressers, and anyone else you come across. Thanks for being one of my biggest fans. ~ Susan Stoker
Poems On Love quotes by Susan Stoker
And all love that had overtaken her would have to be a memory, a truck on the interstate roaring up from the left, a thing she must let pass. ~ Lorrie Moore
Poems On Love quotes by Lorrie Moore
Fallon and I were a lot like them. Only I didn't love her, and she didn't love me. I was infatuated with her once - and loved that she let me take my pubescent urges out on her - but we weren't in love. ~ Penelope Douglas
Poems On Love quotes by Penelope Douglas
As for describing the smell of a spaniel mixed with the smell of torches, laurels, incense, banners, wax candles and a garland of rose leaves crushed by a satin heel that has been laid up in camphor, perhaps Shakespeare, had he paused in the middle of writing Antony and Cleopatra - But Shakespeare did not pause. Confessing our inadequacy, then, we can but note that to Flush Italy, in these the fullest, the freest, the happiest years of his life, meant mainly a succession of smells. Love, it must be supposed, was gradually losing its appeal. Smell remained. Now that they were established in Casa Guidi again, all had their avocations. Mr. Browning wrote regularly in one room; Mrs. Browning wrote regularly in another. The baby played in the nursery. But Flush wandered off into the streets of Florence to enjoy the rapture of smell. He threaded his path through main streets and back streets, through squares and alleys, by smell. He nosed his way from smell to smell; the rough, the smooth, the dark, the golden. He went in and out, up and down, where they beat brass, where they bake bread, where the women sit combing their hair, where the bird-cages are piled high on the causeway, where the wine spills itself in dark red stains on the pavement, where leather smells and harness and garlic, where cloth is beaten, where vine leaves tremble, where men sit and drink and spit and dice - he ran in and out, always with his nose to the ground, drinking in the essence; or with his nose in ~ Virginia Woolf
Poems On Love quotes by Virginia Woolf
Every girls' night needs a funny movie and a good conversation about guys! My friends and I also love picking outfits out for each other to try on at slumber parties. It's so fun. ~ Jennette McCurdy
Poems On Love quotes by Jennette McCurdy
Quit making shade while I'm trying to make noon. Go put on a blindfold and act like midnight. There's leftover love in the freezer if you get cold. ~ Jarod Kintz
