How careless of me!" By which she meant that she had deduced that he had found [them] in his pocket and pitied him for needing to be forever in the right. ~ Tom Holt
Pitychological Problem quotes by Tom Holt
Global warming is real - it is man-made and it is an important problem. But it is not the end of the world. ~ Bjorn Lomborg
Pitychological Problem quotes by Bjorn Lomborg
The creative act always requires a stepping back. It's called the incubation period. The incubation period - one of the four phases of creativity - is when you're not consciously thinking of a problem, and you're letting it marinate. So this is why you hear time and again, people saying they had that "Eureka" moment in the bath, like Archimedes, or in the shower, or while going for a walk or in a coffeehouse. ~ Eric Weiner
Pitychological Problem quotes by Eric Weiner
Work is when you confront the problems you might otherwise be tempted to run away from ~ Rolf Potts
Pitychological Problem quotes by Rolf Potts
The problem is that we've got a sense of humor and (Republicans have) got guns. Will we die laughing? ~ Thomas M. Disch
Pitychological Problem quotes by Thomas M. Disch
When you see the Escalades and the Hummers driving down the street, at least in Los Angeles, this dry, flat desert with shopping malls, when you see someone driving one of those through this you're like, 'You are definitely part of the problem.' ~ Henry Rollins
Pitychological Problem quotes by Henry Rollins
I was just trying to demonstrate to the students of Rowland University that Rowland University was not infinite. It had taken me a long time to figure out what the problem was, but one day I realized that the students at Rowland University thought that Rowland University was infinite. Infinite bookstore. Infinite fraternities and sororities. Infinite sports teams. Infinite snack shop. Infinite Homecoming. Infinite graduation. Infinite prospects. ~ Jon Woodson
Pitychological Problem quotes by Jon Woodson
Want a Coke?" Abra asked. "Sugar solves lots of problems, that's what I think. ~ Stephen King
Pitychological Problem quotes by Stephen King
When the basic problem is your ignorance, clever strategies for bypassing your ignorance lead to shooting yourself in the foot. ~ Eliezer Yudkowsky
Pitychological Problem quotes by Eliezer Yudkowsky
One of our biggest problems in terms of effectiveness is that we have hopes, but our opposition has interests. We measure everything against our hopes, including politicians that we are voting for or choosing amongst. We don't measure up to our hopes ourselves. ~ Gloria Steinem
Pitychological Problem quotes by Gloria Steinem
Overpopulation is the problem of the third and fourth World; over-consumption is the problem of the West. The average American child this year will consume as much of the world's resources as twenty children born in India. Deliberate and calculated waste is the central aspect of the American economy. We over-eat, over-buy, and over-built, spewing out our toxic wastes upon the earth and into the air. ~ Richard J. Foster
Pitychological Problem quotes by Richard J. Foster
My problem is that people get intimidated by someone big and beautiful like me. They hate to think I can be smart as well. ~ Dolph Lundgren
Pitychological Problem quotes by Dolph Lundgren
The problem is that people have tried to look away from space and from the meaning of the moon landing. I remember seeing a picture of an astronaut standing on the moon. It was up at Yale and someone has scrawled on it, 'So what?' That is the arrogance of the kind of academic narrowness one too often sees; it is trapped in its own predictable prejudices, its own stale categories. It is the mind dulled to the poetry of existence. It's fashionable now to demand some economic payoff from space, some reward to prove it was all worthwhile. Those who say this resemble the apelike creatures in 2001. They are fighting for food among themselves, while one separates himself from them and moves to the slab, motivated by awe. That is the point they are missing. He is the one who evolves into a human being; he is the one who understands the future. ~ Joseph Campbell
Pitychological Problem quotes by Joseph Campbell
LOVE is measured in GAUGE TWENTY- specifically, love pressure in the surrounding area. If it drops below four percent, though, you may have trouble-the VW might get sad, slow down, or even stop altogether. If this occurs, you have to immediately find/write a story that somehow convinces him that there is more love, caring or compassion in the area than he thinks there is. I can't tell you how many times this has been a problem for us- how many trips were interrupted because I had to head into the nearest populated town to see if we could find examples of kindness. ~ Christopher Boucher
Pitychological Problem quotes by Christopher Boucher
The chief problem is, of course, whether the marching of the general spirit of things is heading consciously or sub- consciously toward an idea of extension of boundaries. ~ Franklin D. Roosevelt
Pitychological Problem quotes by Franklin D. Roosevelt
Management don't really have any problem at all with firing people. It's a powerful idea that, If I'm not happy, I'll quit. I'll try something else! ~ Ron Livingston
Pitychological Problem quotes by Ron Livingston
God promises that no matter how dismal the picture, He will take our problem and turn it into an opportunity for our growth. ~ Suzanne Elizabeth Anderson
Pitychological Problem quotes by Suzanne Elizabeth Anderson
The fundamental problem with banks is what it's always been: they're in the business of banking, and banking, whether plain vanilla or incredibly sophisticated, is inherently risky. ~ James Surowiecki
Pitychological Problem quotes by James Surowiecki
If I could give advice to anyone, it would be that sometimes the best way you can fight a problem - and this is going to be a little bit controversial - is to not address it. ~ Lilly Singh
Pitychological Problem quotes by Lilly Singh
We're told, often enough, that as a species we are poised on the edge of the abyss. It's possible that our puffed-up, prideful intelligence has outstripped our instinct for survival and the road back to safety has already been washed away. In which case there's nothing much to be done. If there is something to be done, then one thing is for sure: those who created the problem will not be the ones who come up with a solution. ~ Arundhati Roy
Pitychological Problem quotes by Arundhati Roy
The problem with self righteousness is that it seems almost impossible to recognize in ourselves. We will own up to almost any other sin. but not the sin of self-righteousness. When we have this attitude, though, we deprive ourselves of the joy of living in the grace of God. Because you see, grace is only for sinners. ~ Jerry Bridges
Pitychological Problem quotes by Jerry Bridges
There is no problem this universe can hand you that you aren't innately designed to solve. If it has been handed to you, it can be handled by you. This is the brilliant effectiveness of our design. ~ Steve Maraboli
Pitychological Problem quotes by Steve Maraboli
He opened his eyes again, raking his gaze up and down my body before coming to rest on my crotch. "Quite simply," he said, "I'd like to lick your cunt. I'd like to hear you scream my name."

The world seemed to sway. "Don't... don't you have groupies for that sort of thing?" I asked breathlessly.

"I'd rather have you."

I swallowed. "I don't know what to say."

"You can start by saying yes, please, Kent. Eat my pussy."

My skin tingled with his words. I wondered why he wasn't the one singing, front and center. That voice could carry me away, anywhere he wanted me to go...

Oh, this was a problem. This was a huge problem, and I wasn't about to make it any better. My mouth was dry, but the words came out clear enough:

"Yes, please, Kent. Eat my pussy."

"I thought you'd never ask," he said. ~ Ava Lore
Pitychological Problem quotes by Ava Lore
Al Gore had no problem taking hundreds of millions of dollars from the government of Qatar to sell his Current TV to Al Jazeera America. ~ Ben Shapiro
Pitychological Problem quotes by Ben Shapiro
Some say that I should settle down, go slower and not push so hard, so quickly for such transformational change. To them, I say that you misunderstand the size of the problems we face, the strength of the status quo and the urgency of the people's desire for change. ~ Eliot Spitzer
Pitychological Problem quotes by Eliot Spitzer
Child labor, not a problem. Censorship, not a problem. Torture, not a problem. Chewing gum in China - oh, my God! You better not be over here chewing gum. ~ David Letterman
Pitychological Problem quotes by David Letterman
If you did not face problems you would just drift through life. It is through solving problems in accordance with the highest light we have that inner growth is attained. ~ Peace Pilgrim
Pitychological Problem quotes by Peace Pilgrim
Avoiding setting too strong rules is the best way not to have problems with your own rules. ~ Eraldo Banovac
Pitychological Problem quotes by Eraldo Banovac
Our problem is that we don't pay attention to what we actually know. We give our attention to what we think - to what we have ideas or beliefs about - and we discard what we actually see. ~ Steve Hagen
Pitychological Problem quotes by Steve Hagen
The problem of physics is how the actual phenomena, as observed with the help of our sense organs aided by instruments, can be reduced to simple notions which are suited for precise measurement and used of the formulation of quantitative laws.
Experiment and Theory in Physics ~ Max Born
Pitychological Problem quotes by Max Born
I think it's harder for people than it should be. But as more and more of us become carbon neutral and change the patterns in our lives to be part of the solution instead of part of the problem, we are now beginning to see the changes in policy that are needed. ~ Al Gore
Pitychological Problem quotes by Al Gore
Often a successful problem-solver is one who creates a new context in which to view the problem. This can often be done by directing one's attention away from the distracting details of the difficulty. From a detached perspective, we may examine the situation in a new or different light and, after exploring information and options, choose an appropriate course of action. ~ John Templeton
Pitychological Problem quotes by John Templeton
The real reason French women don't get fat is not genetic, but cultural, and if the French subjected themselves to the American extremes of eating and dieting, the obesity problem in France would be much worse than what has struck America. ~ Mireille Guiliano
Pitychological Problem quotes by Mireille Guiliano
First, opportunites are abundant. At any place and time you can look around and identify problems that need solving....regardless of the size of the problem, there are ususally creative ways to use the resources already at your disposal. ~ Tina Seelig
Pitychological Problem quotes by Tina Seelig
The problem with American democracy is the American corporation, which is a slave holder construct, pure and simple. It's totally invasive, and people are as tightly controlled within the walls of a corporation as they are in a totalitarian society. ~ Richard Grossman
Pitychological Problem quotes by Richard Grossman
The problem of culture is seldom grasped correctly. The goal of a culture is not the greatest possible happiness of a people, noris it the unhindered development of all their talents; instead, culture shows itself in the correct proportion of these developments. Its aim points beyond earthly happiness: the production of great works is the aim of culture. ~ Friedrich Nietzsche
Pitychological Problem quotes by Friedrich Nietzsche
I nearly had a cakegasm at the table. My eyes rolled back in my head, and I moaned.
"Sweet Christ." I opened my eyes to find Hunter watching me with the strangest expression on his face.
"What? It's really good; you should try some," I said, pushing the plate at him. It was a testament of how embarrassed I was about the cakegasm that I was even sharing at all.
"I swear, if there weren't a table between us, I would be kissing you right now. And none too gently."
I put my form down and swallowed so I wouldn't choke. "You didn't seem to mind about the recliner," I said.
"True. But there wan't an audience, and that's a very ugly recliner. This is a very nice table. Also there is glass and sharp things I wouldn't want hurting you."
"Good point. Please, have some."
"If you're going to make that noise and that face again, I don't know if I can let you have any more."
"I'll be good. I swear."
"You're not good. That's the problem."
"You're right. I'm not," I said, giving him my own smirk. "I do try, though."
"Cruel. That's the word to describe you right now."
"Just have some cake. ~ Chelsea M. Cameron
Pitychological Problem quotes by Chelsea M. Cameron
The key to creating health is figuring out the cause of the problem and then providing the right conditions for the body and soul to thrive. It isn't taking another medication. ~ Mark Hyman, M.D.
Pitychological Problem quotes by Mark Hyman, M.D.
Middlemarch is a novel that is diminished by being put on the screen. It can't help but be, because so much of what we enjoy in Middlemarch is the interplay between what the characters do and what we know about them because of the telling voice.

It's less of a problem for the cinema when it deals with novels that are purely concerned with action and what people do. I haven't thought this through, and I'm just trying it now to see what it sounds like. But maybe it would be less a problem with novels that are told in the first person. The interesting thing to me about Middlemarch, and Thackeray's Vanity Fair, and several other great novels, is precisely this omniscient, as we call it, third person, which naive readers mistake for the author. It isn't George Eliot who is saying this; it's a voice that George Eliot adopts to tell this story.

There can be something very interesting in a novel like Bleak House, which was also done very well on the television by the same adapter, Andrew Davis. Now, Bleak House is told in two voices, as you remember. One is the somewhat trying Esther Summerson, who is a paradigm of every kind of virtue, and the other is a different sort of voice entirely, a voice that tells the story in the present tense, which was unusual for the time, a voice that doesn't seem to have a main character attached to it.

But I think that Dickens is playing a very subtle game here. I've noticed a couple of things about that second narrat ~ Philip Pullman
Pitychological Problem quotes by Philip Pullman
Deprived of bread or the equal benefits of the commonwealth, the person shrivels. Obviously. And that is a clear line to fight on. But when the transcendent energies waste away, then too the person shrivels
though far less obviously. Their loss is suffered in privacy and bewildered silence; it is easily submerged in affluence, entertaining diversions, and adjustive therapy. Well fed and fashionably dressed, surrounded by every manner of mechanical convenience and with our credit rating in good order, we may even be ashamed to feel we have any problem at all. ~ Theodore Roszak
Pitychological Problem quotes by Theodore Roszak
One country ... one ideology, one system is not sufficient. It is helpful to have a variety of different approaches ... We can then make a joint effort to solve the problems of the whole of humankind. ~ Dalai Lama
Pitychological Problem quotes by Dalai Lama
He [Donald Trump] said in the debate - he said, gosh, I'm being audited for two years. Then he said three years. Then he said maybe five years.Listen, if there's a problem in his taxes, the voters have a right to know, because come September, October, the general election, folks in the media are going to make a heyday about any problems in his taxes. ~ Ted Cruz
Pitychological Problem quotes by Ted Cruz
No pill can help me deal with the problem of not wanting to take pills; likewise, no amount of psychotherapy alone can prevent my manias and depressions. I need both. It is an odd thing, owing life to pills, one's own quirks and tenacities, and this unique, strange, and ultimately profound relationship called psychotherapy ~ Kay Redfield Jamison
Pitychological Problem quotes by Kay Redfield Jamison
I suppose the problem ... is that we have an inside and an outside. We've got problems both places, but it's so hard to tell where the one stops and the other takes up. ~ Samuel R. Delany
Pitychological Problem quotes by Samuel R. Delany
I don't have a problem with my temper. ~ Tommy Lee
Pitychological Problem quotes by Tommy Lee
Any kind of problem you have in your life, you come to Bikram. Your life becomes the best in the world. ~ Bikram Choudhury
Pitychological Problem quotes by Bikram Choudhury
The difficult notes are when they say, "And this is how we want you to fix it ... " Just tell me what the problem is. Just tell me what the issue is, and I'll go off an fix it. It's usually when executives get to a place where they're trying to fix the problem for you that you have issues ~ Ronald D. Moore
Pitychological Problem quotes by Ronald D. Moore
Some say it appears that painting has come to an end. I say the problem is that the painters' curiosity has come to an end, and this is more observable in the West and not in the East, since in the East there are plenty of untouched and unexplored spaces that could still inspire an artist as sources of creativity. ~ Guity Novin
