I seriously hope all the things i talk about are erroneous and false ~ Peter Joseph
Peter Joseph quotes by Peter Joseph
Make no mistake. The greatest destroyer of ecology. The greatest source of waste, depletion and pollution. The greatest purveyor of violence, war, crime, poverty, animal abuse and inhumanity. The greatest generator of personal and social neurosis, mental disorders, depression, anxiety. Not to mention the greatest source of social paralysis, stopping us from moving into new methodologies for personal health, global sustainability and progress on this planet, is not some corrupt government or legislation.
Not some rogue corporation or banking cartel.
Not some flaw of human nature and not some secret cabal that controls the world.
It is the socioeconomic system itself at its very foundation. ~ Peter Joseph
Peter Joseph quotes by Peter Joseph
The real revolution is the revolution of values ~ Peter Joseph
Peter Joseph quotes by Peter Joseph
Hey Pete. So why the leave from social media? You are an activist, right? It seems like this decision is counterproductive to your message and work."

A: The short answer is I'm tired of the endless narcissism inherent to the medium. In the commercial society we have, coupled with the consequential sense of insecurity people feel, as they impulsively "package themselves" for public consumption, the expression most dominant in all of this - is vanity. And I find that disheartening, annoying and dangerous. It is a form of cultural violence in many respects. However, please note the difference - that I work to promote just that – a message/idea – not myself… and I honestly loath people who today just promote themselves for the sake of themselves. A sea of humans who have been conditioned into viewing who they are – as how they are seen online. Think about that for a moment. Social identity theory run amok.

People have been conditioned to think "they are" how "others see them". We live in an increasing fictional reality where people are now not only people – they are digital symbols. And those symbols become more important as a matter of "marketing" than people's true personality. Now, one could argue that social perception has always had a communicative symbolism, even before the computer age. But nooooooothing like today. Social media has become a social prison and a strong means of social control, in fact.
Beyond that, as most know, social media is li ~ Peter Joseph
Peter Joseph quotes by Peter Joseph
Our entire system, in an economic sense, is based on restriction. Scarcity and inefficiency are the movers of money; the more there is of any resource the less you can charge for it. The more problems there are, the more opportunities there are to make money.

This reality is a social disease, for people can actually gain off the misery of others and the destruction of the environment. Efficiency, abundance and sustainability are enemies of our economic structure, for they are inverse to the mechanics required to perpetuate consumption.

This is profoundly critical to understand, for once you put this together you begin to see that the one billion people currently starving on this planet, the endless slums of the poor and all the horrors of a culture due to poverty and pravity are not natural phenomenon due to some natural human order or lack of earthly resources. They are products of the creation, perpetuation and preservation of artificial scarcity and inefficiency. ~ Peter Joseph
Peter Joseph quotes by Peter Joseph
The most dominant cultural attributes maintained are the ones that are reinforced by your environment. ~ Peter Joseph
Peter Joseph quotes by Peter Joseph
Imposed philosophical morality (laws/rules) will not save the world. Only a calculated tangible plan to alter our circumstances so such actions pose no merit will stop immoral behaviour. ~ Peter Joseph
Peter Joseph quotes by Peter Joseph
I spent the beginning of my focus on activism by doing what most everyone else was doing; blaming other people and institutions. Don't like the war? Let's blame the president, congress, or lobbyists. Don't like ecological disregard? Let's blame this or that corrupt corporation or some regulatory body for poor performance. Don't like being poor and socially immobile? Let's blame government coercion and interference in this free market utopia everyone keeps talking about.

The sobering truth of the matter is that the only thing to blame is the dynamic, causal unfolding of system expression itself on the cultural level. In other words, none of us create or do anything in isolation – it's impossible. We are system-bound both physically and psychologically; a continuum. Therefore our view of causality with respect to societal change can only be truly productive if we seek and source the most relevant sociological influences we can and begin to alter those effects from the root causes. ~ Peter Joseph
Peter Joseph quotes by Peter Joseph
The true terrorists of our world do not meet at the docks at midnight, or scream "Allahu Akbar" before some violent action. The true terrorists of our world wear 5000 dollar suits and work in the highest positions of finance, government and business. ~ Peter Joseph
Peter Joseph quotes by Peter Joseph
On the morning I was scheduled to die, a large barefoot man with a bushy red beard waddled past my house. ~ Peter Lerangis
Peter Joseph quotes by Peter Lerangis
I think the most extraordinary thing about fans is the level of excellence that they show in the work that they do. I mean, if you go onto the internet and see some of the fan videos that have been put together, they're just extraordinary; they could be programmes in their own right. ~ Peter Capaldi
Peter Joseph quotes by Peter Capaldi
Dolphins are social mammals, capable of enjoying their lives. They form close bonds with other members of their group. ~ Peter Singer
Peter Joseph quotes by Peter Singer
When we reach the point where things simply make no sense, when our thinking about God and life no longer line up, when any sense of certainty is gone, and when we can find no reason to trust God but we still do, well that is what trust looks like at its brightest – when all else is dark. ~ Peter Enns
Peter Joseph quotes by Peter Enns
The success and ultimately the survival of every business, large or small, depends in the last analysis on its ability to develop people. This ability is not measured by any of our conventional yardsticks of economic success; yet, is the final measurement. ~ Peter Drucker
Peter Joseph quotes by Peter Drucker
A writer struggles against himself. He is his own worst adversary. He is driven half-wild by his own imperfections and is tortured by the thought that every second, something imperishable is eluding him. He is a fool because he deliberately hunts the uncapturable with a net of words but he is a sublime and lucky fool because the forest in which he hunts is enchanted. ~ Joseph William Meagher
Peter Joseph quotes by Joseph William Meagher
Had not enough gone wrong? ~ Brom
Peter Joseph quotes by Brom
You can only write what you know if you've lived, otherwise, you'll just be writing words. ~ Joseph Eastwood
Peter Joseph quotes by Joseph Eastwood
We have traveled.
Now you will be the path
I will walk I will walk
Over you. ~ Peter Heller
Peter Joseph quotes by Peter Heller
We're at a stoplight when Peter suddenly sits up straight and says, "Oh, shit! The Epsteins!" I was halfway asleep. My eyes fly open and I yell, "Where? Where?" "Red SUV! Two cars ahead on the right." I crane my neck to look. They are a gray-haired couple, maybe in their sixties or seventies. It's hard to tell from this far
away. As soon as the light turns green, Peter guns it and drives up on the shoulder. I scream out, "Go go go!" and then we're flying past the Epsteins. My heart is racing out of control, I can't help but lean my head out the
window and scream because it's such a thrill. My hair whips in the wind and I know it's going to be a tangled mess, but I couldn't care less. "Yahhh!" I scream. "You're crazy," Peter says, pulling me back in by the hem of my shirt. ~ Jenny Han
Peter Joseph quotes by Jenny Han
Don't worry. Don't worry. All is as it was meant to be. It was meant to be lonely and terrifying and unfair and fleeting. Don't worry. ~ Joseph Fink
Peter Joseph quotes by Joseph Fink
There are so many things that poetry is about, one of which is memory. ~ Peter Davison
Peter Joseph quotes by Peter Davison
One of the reasons I think people are increasingly nervous about U.S. debt is because they think that we are not actually digging ourselves out of the hole, but instead are digging ourselves into a deeper and deeper hole and will not be able to pay it back because we're not actually creating the new technologies that will enable us to pay back and the money somehow is not really being invested in the future or in progress. ~ Peter Thiel
Peter Joseph quotes by Peter Thiel
Theologians could not even agree about the nature of their gods. These personages ranged from "blue touch-paper gods" who started everything and never interfered again, to "infinitely meddlesome gods who, as well as starting it off, police every elementary particle. ~ Peter Atkins
Peter Joseph quotes by Peter Atkins
The amount of sophistication varies according to the quality of the medium, and to the state of the same medium at different times; it must be attributed in the best cases physiologically to the medium, intellectually to the control. ~ Oliver Joseph Lodge
Peter Joseph quotes by Oliver Joseph Lodge
Being able to play a role where you're there almost every day and you're just in it ... I remember it was a whirlwind, but it was a lot of fun. ~ Peter Jacobson
Peter Joseph quotes by Peter Jacobson
The lively phraseology of Montesquieu was the result of long meditation. His words, as light as wings, bear on them grave reflections. ~ Joseph Joubert
Peter Joseph quotes by Joseph Joubert
To refuse awards is another way of accepting them with more noise than is normal. ~ Peter Ustinov
Peter Joseph quotes by Peter Ustinov
My duty as a member of the Council of the Twelve is to protect what is most unique about the LDS church, namely the authority of priesthood, testimony regarding the restoration of the gospel, and the divine mission of the Savior. Everything may be sacrificed in order to maintain the integrity of those essential facts. Thus, if Mormon Enigma reveals information that is detrimental to the reputation of Joseph Smith, then it is necessary to try to limit its influence and that of its authors. ~ Dallin H. Oaks
Peter Joseph quotes by Dallin H. Oaks
We are the people birthed from this land. For the first time I can seem something I've not fully understood before, not until now as these pale creatures from somewhere far away stare down at us in wonder, trying to makes sense of what they see. We are this place. This place is us. ~ Joseph Boyden
Peter Joseph quotes by Joseph Boyden
You and I are made of the same grain, and we've got one thing that most people don't have: sparkle. it's 50% of us. So, if someone takes away our sparkle -- there's only 50% left of us, and that's not much. If Peter takes away your sparkle, as I'm afraid he may be doing, then you're not my Izabell anymore. You're someone else. ~ Cavanaugh Lee
Peter Joseph quotes by Cavanaugh Lee
I feel ghostly unreal until I become somebody else again on the screen. ~ Peter Sellers
Peter Joseph quotes by Peter Sellers
In it {a film Peter saw} a sadistic sergeant broke the spirit of soldier in a military prison by beating him up at systematically random intervals, from more than a day down to a quarter of an hour, so that the victim never knew when the next attack was coming, never felt safe. Life with Muriel, it seemed to Peter, had over the last seven or eight years turned into a decreasingly bearable version of that. ~ Kingsley Amis
Peter Joseph quotes by Kingsley Amis
We know from accounts of Rilke's life that his stay in Rodin's workshops taught him how modern sculpture had advanced to the genre of the autonomous torso. The poet's view of the mutilated body thus has nothing to do with the previous century's Romanticism of fragments and ruins; it is part of the breakthrough in modern art to the concept of the object that states itself with authority and the body that publicizes itself with authorization. ~ Peter Sloterdijk
Peter Joseph quotes by Peter Sloterdijk
All that really matters to me is that there are critics. ~ Peter Davis
Peter Joseph quotes by Peter Davis
On his refusal to deal with Keith Primeau: We refuse to pay a prima donna, a petulant, pouting player who had 30 goals last year the same money as Toronto is paying Mats Sundin or Pittsburgh is paying Jaromir Jagr. ~ Peter Karmanos, Jr.
Peter Joseph quotes by Peter Karmanos, Jr.
There's something really appealing about the simplicity of black-and-white images. ~ Joseph Gordon-Levitt
Peter Joseph quotes by Joseph Gordon-Levitt
When diamonds' role in fuelling violent conflict in Africa gained worldwide attention, the diamond industry established the Kimberley process in order to keep "blood diamonds" out of international trade. ~ Peter Singer
Peter Joseph quotes by Peter Singer
Your only real competition will always be the person in the mirror. ~ Peter Voogd
Peter Joseph quotes by Peter Voogd
The banker, therefore, is not so much primarily a middleman in the commodity "purchasing power" as a producer of this commodity. However, since all reserve funds and savings today usually flow to him, and the total demand for free purchasing power, whether existing or to be created, concentrates on him, he has either replaced private capitalists or become their agent; he has himself become the capitalist par excellence. ~ Joseph A. Schumpeter
Peter Joseph quotes by Joseph A. Schumpeter
Edmund, give a special goodbye to Trumpkin for me. He's been a brick. ~ C.S. Lewis
Peter Joseph quotes by C.S. Lewis
The fastest way to know God is to serve the God in someone else. ~ Peter Reinhart
Peter Joseph quotes by Peter Reinhart
It made him proud that 29 months in the service had not blunted his genius for ineptitude. ~ Joseph Heller
Peter Joseph quotes by Joseph Heller
Often? That's a relative concept when you're in here." He licked his lips. They were chapped, startlingly red against the snow white of his Methuselah beard. ~ Joseph Finder
Peter Joseph quotes by Joseph Finder
I strongly support European sanctions against Mugabe and his ruling clique. We must do all in our power to help the people of Zimbabwe achieve their freedom and prosperity once again. ~ Peter Hain
Peter Joseph quotes by Peter Hain
Friendships that have stood the test of time and change are surely best. ~ Joseph Parry
Peter Joseph quotes by Joseph Parry
Resignation, not mystic, not detached, but resignation open-eyed, conscious, and informed by love, is the only one of our feelings for which it is impossible to become a sham. ~ Joseph Conrad
Peter Joseph quotes by Joseph Conrad
Writing a screen play with a group of collaborators is like the Lennon McCartney collaboration ... sometimes one or two people do more than others on certain parts of the process and vice versa. ~ Peter Jackson
Peter Joseph quotes by Peter Jackson
Time and persistence has shown me that I can succeed at sharing my art with others as a musician while running my own music business. And that kind of success is as good as I could have ever wished for. ~ Bradley Joseph
