Cultivating quietness is a missing discipline today ... the quietness needed to nurture an inner life hid in Christ. ~ Aiden Wilson Tozer
Nurture quotes by Aiden Wilson Tozer
Clearly our current form of medicine will bankrupt us and simultaneously keep the chemical industry the number one money-maker as physicians nurture a nation of drugged zombies. ~ Sherry Rogers
Nurture quotes by Sherry Rogers
She preferred to nurture healthy relationships with a few women, like Shelby, a genuinely loyal friend, and weed out weak and petty imposters who passed through her life. ~ Sarah Jo Smith
Nurture quotes by Sarah Jo Smith
The idea of taking a song, envisioning the overall sound in my head and then bringing the arrangement to life in the studio ... well, that gives me satisfaction like nothing else ... My state of being has been elevated, because I've been exercising, writing songs ... No masterpiece ever came overnight. A person's masterpiece is something that you nurture along. ~ Brian Wilson
Nurture quotes by Brian Wilson
Foreign Cash is not the answers to our problems, my friend. Africa needs the hearts and minds of its sons and daughters to nurture it. You were our pride, Mukoma Bryon. When you did not return, a whole village lost its investment. Africa is all that we have. If we do not build it, no one else will. ~ J. Nozipo Maraire
Nurture quotes by J. Nozipo Maraire
We are children of a large family, and must learn, as such children do, not to expect that our little hurts will be made much of - to be content with little nurture and caressing, and help each other the more. ~ George Eliot
Nurture quotes by George Eliot
Slowly I began to understand that the plans God has for us don't just include "good" things, but the whole array of human events … I remember my mom saying that many people look for miracles - things that in their human minds "fix" a difficult situation. Many miracles, however, are not a change to the normal course of human events; they're found in God's ability and desire to sustain and nurture people through even the worst situations. Somewhere along the way, I stopped demanding that God fix the problems in my life and started to be thankful for his presence as I endured them. ~ Lisa Beamer
Nurture quotes by Lisa Beamer
Create boundaries. Honor your limits. Say no. Take a break. Let go. Stay grounded. Nurture your body. Love your vulnerability. And if all else fails, breathe deeply. ~ Aletheia Luna
Nurture quotes by Aletheia Luna
With all the efforts made by modern society to nurture and educate the young, how stupid it is to permit the mothers of young children to spend themselves in the coarser work of the world! ~ Jane Addams
Nurture quotes by Jane Addams
Fear grid-irons your broken, suffering heart with strength, encasing it with a protective, tough shell. One that soon becomes a prison that will emaciate the unused, enclosed heart inside if left to its own accord. But renewed hope gently unwraps the hard cast, and replaces it with a more resilient, pliable layer, protective, strong, but permeable so as to let love soak in and nurture the malnourished, dying heart inside. ~ Connie Kerbs
Nurture quotes by Connie Kerbs
The trees reminded me of unity, all lined up peacefully. I thought about who we all are as people, how we come together in moments we need hope. I thought about how we draw inspiration from each other, how we long to be in love with another. I wondered how many of us have someone else to rely on, what happens when we don't. The nightmares that play over and over again when the days seem like they are running out of hope. And I wanted to stretch my arms out wide, welcome the hopes and dreams of others, nurture them, support them, remind you that things keep moving no matter how strange and difficult the world seems. The trees will continue to line the roads; the sun will shine through the clouds; and despite a very real feeling of doubt, just know that of you, I'll always be proud. ~ Courtney Peppernell
Nurture quotes by Courtney Peppernell
Nurturing words show that you believe in the other party's capacity to learn, change and grow. One's mind is like a computer. Every message you send goes into one of two files: discounting or nurturing. The file with the most data will direct how one sees and feels about himself or herself. Messages that nurture are based on unconditional love which must be worked at, especially if you come from a discounting family. You will need to rely on Jesus to fill the void in your life with His presence and help you learn how to love unconditionall like He loves us. ~ H. Norman Wright
Nurture quotes by H. Norman Wright
We must nurture and love, if life is to have any real meaning. But First we must find a way to survive against the things that prevent us from doing so. ~ Terry Brooks
Nurture quotes by Terry Brooks
Your dreams are the blueprints of your soul. They should take you by the hand and lead you toward your life's purpose and passion. They are one of, if not the greatest, source of self-motivation that you have. So nurture them and feed them inspiration whenever you can. ~ Mac Anderson
Nurture quotes by Mac Anderson
One brain's blueprint may promote joy more readily than most; in another, pessimism reigns. Whether happiness infuses or eludes a person depends, in part, on the DNA he has chanced to receive. (152) ~ Thomas Lewis
Nurture quotes by Thomas Lewis
The phrase 'nature and nurture' is a convenient jingle of words, for it separates under two distinct heads the innumerable elements of which personality is composed. Nature is all that a man brings with himself into the world; nurture is every influence without that affects him after his birth. ~ Francis Galton
Nurture quotes by Francis Galton
I believe that peace is not merely an absence of war but the nurture of human life, and that in time this nurture would do away with war as a natural process. ~ Jane Addams
Nurture quotes by Jane Addams
To be whole and harmonious, man must also know the music of the beaches and the woods. He must find the thing of which he is only an infinitesimal part and nurture it and love it, if he is to live. ~ William O. Douglas
Nurture quotes by William O. Douglas
We nurture kind souls with kind deeds. ~ Lailah Gifty Akita
Nurture quotes by Lailah Gifty Akita
Why do farmers farm, given their economic adversities on top of the many frustrations and difficulties normal to farming? And always the answer is: "Love. They must do it for love." Farmers farm for the love of farming. They love to watch and nurture the growth of plants. They love to live in the presence of animals. They love to work outdoors. They love the weather, maybe even when it is making them miserable. They love to live where they work and to work where they live. If the scale of their farming is small enough, they like to work in the company of their children and with the help of their children. They love the measure of independence that farm life can still provide. I have an idea that a lot of farmers have gone to a lot of trouble merely to be self-employed to live at least a part of their lives without a boss. ~ Wendell Berry
Nurture quotes by Wendell Berry
In India, the sapling was planted by the nation's founders, who lived long enough (and worked hard enough) to nurture it to adulthood. Those who came afterwards could disturb and degrade the tree of democracy but, try as they might, could not uproot or destroy it. ~ Ramachandra Guha
Nurture quotes by Ramachandra Guha
Narrative and metaphysics alike become flimsy and frivolous if they venture too far from the home base of all humanism - the single, simple human life that we all more or less lead, with its crude elementals of nurture and appetite, love and competition, the sunshine of well-being and the inevitable night of death. We each live this tale. Fiction has no reason to be embarrassed about telling the same story again and again, since we all, with infinite variations, experience the same story. ~ John Updike
Nurture quotes by John Updike
Children should always feel like the adults are living in this world to nurture them, to take care of them, to protect them from any bad thing that might come. ~ Chris Cornell
Nurture quotes by Chris Cornell
Turn off your phone, and your computer and your mind. Find your heart center and send it compassion. See the holiness in everyone you meet. Honor it.
Know your worth. Know your worth. Know your worth.
Accept no less. Become familiar with the space where compromise is unkind. Nurture your exquisite loneliness. Let it teach you. Light candles at every opportunity. Always wear perfume, it helps you remember yourself. Touch your inked ribs lightly when you forget who you are. ~ Jeanette LeBlanc
Nurture quotes by Jeanette LeBlanc
Whether or not these ideas alone would solve any of the problems discussed, I look forward to the day when SLA is more widely recognized as the serious and socially responsive discipline I believe it can be. Chapters like this one (unpleasant for writer and assuredly some readers alike) would no longer be needed. One could instead concentrate on the genuine controversies and excitement in SLA and L3A: the roles of nature and nurture; special and general nativism; child-adult differences and the possibility of maturational constraints; cross-linguistic influence; acquisition and socialization; cognitive and social factors; resilience; stabilization; fossilization, and other putative mechanisms and processes in interlanguage change; the feasibility of pedagogical intervention; and, most of all, the development of viable theories. ~ Michael H. Long
Nurture quotes by Michael H. Long
We are life. We are the result of life's power, and we are the channels through which that power courses. We want truth, but we reach for more knowledge instead - and then we must defend what we believe. Knowledge makes a small impression on the world compared to the power of truth - even when it serves life, elevating awareness and creating dreams of impeccability. How can knowledge serve better? How can we stop it from doing harm and creating conflict? First, we can see knowledge for what it is - all the agreements we make about reality - and get some perspective. Then we can listen to ourselves. We can modify both our thinking and our emotional attachment to thought. We can win the war in our heads, one that has gone on long enough. We can nurture a belief in ourselves and drift away from the crowd. ~ Miguel Ruiz
Nurture quotes by Miguel Ruiz
God uses people not only to nurture us, but also to open our eyes to sins, selfishness, and denial in us. Love also means saying, "I hold this against you," as Jesus did when he confronted the churches (Rev. 2:4, 14, 20). Being confronted on character issues isn't pleasant. It hurts our self-image. It humbles us. But it doesn't harm us. Loving confrontations protect us from our blindness and self-destructiveness. ~ Henry Cloud
Nurture quotes by Henry Cloud
Further, we have to ask if community is possible when, as noted earlier, social media is so based on self. 'For all the rhetoric about cyber-community, the internet is less a forum for shared public life than an area for individuals to express their egos and find information in tune with their personal needs and desires.'

Further, 'Instead of renewing community, these ever expanding cybernetic systems tend to band people together in like-minded or similarly interested groups. They equip us with new means of pursuing our own interests more than they nurture communities of diverse people who nevertheless seek shared lives and common ends.'

Schultze, Habits ~ Kyle Tennant
Nurture quotes by Kyle Tennant
Find out what it is that touches you most deeply. Pursue it, learn about it, explore it, expand on it. Live with it and nurture it. ~ Leonard Nimoy
Nurture quotes by Leonard Nimoy
But with evil the roots are as deep and branched as the oldest tree. The motivations are such a spiderweb of nature and nurture and choice and anger and greed and hatred all woven into a sticky mess. ~ Sonali Dev
Nurture quotes by Sonali Dev
In a sane world, love and sex would not divide by gender. We could love like and unlike beings, love them for a variety of reasons. The battered adjectives for homosexuality
queer, lesbian, gay
would disappear and we would only have people making love in different ways, with different body parts. We are too far gone with overpopulation to insist that procreation be an immutable part of desire. Desire needs only itself, not the proof of a baby. We would do well to baby each other instead of making all these unwanted babies that no one has time to nurture or to love.
At this point in my life, I am blessed by my friendships with women. I make no distinction between my gay and straight women friends. I hat the very terms, feeling that any of us could be anything
if we were to unlock the full range of possibilities within. ~ Erica Jong
Nurture quotes by Erica Jong
As a child, one of my defense mechanisms was to try to be funny. My mom tried to nurture that by putting me in acting class. But I got bored when we stopped pretending to be trees and actually had to work. ~ Ian Gomez
Nurture quotes by Ian Gomez
[We need] to nurture the entrepreneurial spirit and the tremendous untapped potential in our prisons. ~ Jeff Smith
Nurture quotes by Jeff Smith
There are times to cultivate and create, when you nurture your world and give birth to new ideas and ventures. There are times of flourishing and abundance, when life feels in full bloom, energized and expanding. And there are times of fruition, when things come to an end. They have reached their climax and must be harvested before they begin to fade. And finally of course, there are times that are cold, and cutting and empty, times when the spring of new beginnings seems like a distant dream. Those rhythms in life are natural events. They weave into one another as day follows night, bringing, not messages of hope and fear, but messages of how things are. ~ Chogyam Trungpa
Nurture quotes by Chogyam Trungpa
We think of English as a fortress to be defended, but a better analogy is to think of English as a child. We love and nurture it into being, and once it gains gross motor skills, it starts going exactly where we don't want it to go: it heads right for the goddamned electrical sockets. We dress it in fancy clothes and tell it to behave, and it comes home with its underwear on its head and wearing someone else's socks. As English grows, it lives its own live, and this is right and healthy. ~ Kory Stamper
Nurture quotes by Kory Stamper
Proof had this ability to not only nurture my talent, but to see that diamond in the rough when a million people could be looking at the same thing... and just not see it. ~ Eminem
Nurture quotes by Eminem
The civil rights movement, legislation, and milestone court decisions of the 1950s and '60s produced remarkable changes and ended or ramped down centuries of explicit, statutory discrimination. But real integration was not one of the accomplishments.
The civil rights movement ended in a kind of negotiated compromise. Black Americans were granted legal equality, while white America was allowed to nurture and maintain an illusion of innocence, even as it continued to live in almost complete separation.
Black America always saw the continuing schism. But white America has traditionally been free to ignore and be untroubled by it and to believe it had reached the "postracial" stage of its otherwise proud history. That was until cellphones and the Internet came along. ~ Matt Taibbi
Nurture quotes by Matt Taibbi
When you nurture and prioritize relationship for the volunteers, the volunteers become the ministry's greatest recruiting tools, because they tell others. ~ Amy Fenton Lee
Nurture quotes by Amy Fenton Lee
Your True Self is who you are, and always have been in God ... The great surprise and irony is that "you," or who you think you are, have nothing to do with its original creation or its demise. It's sort of disempowering and utterly empowering at the same time, isn't it? All you can do is nurture it. ~ Richard Rohr
Nurture quotes by Richard Rohr
I'm not sure what gave me empathy for animals, but I do know that I have always loved animals since I was a very young child. I always felt a need to nurture and protect them. Perhaps I could see they needed that, and caring for them made me happy. ~ Alison Eastwood
Nurture quotes by Alison Eastwood
Turn off your computer and go out of doors. Dig a large enough hole to transplant a mature apple tree. Nurture the tree, feed it, coddle it so that its fruit will be ample, bright and firm. Practice open-hand strikes against the rough bark of the trunk until it's time to harvest. Choose the champion of your apple crop, pluck it from the tree, and beat yourself about the face and tits with it until your mettle will suffice. ~ Nick Offerman
Nurture quotes by Nick Offerman
Sex is the strongest force in the universe. Forget about the Grand Unifying Theory, Stephen Hawking, I'll tell you what it is: women. Aren't women the strongest sex? What force is more magnetic than that? It's not just pussy. We're attracted to women for their energy. We're attracted to their fluidness, their ability to nurture a baby without even knowing how, to be able to put up with screaming and crying and colic and shitty diapers where men would go, "I'm fucking outta here! I'm gonna go kill me a saber-toothed woolly mammoth an'bring it on home to eat tonight. Wa-haaaaaa!" We don't have tits; we couldn't nourish a gnat. ~ Steven Tyler
Nurture quotes by Steven Tyler
Any man who bears the ability of a polymath shall not be interfered by specialty, he needs discipline to manage his behaviors and nurture his creativity. ~ Shawn Lukas
Nurture quotes by Shawn Lukas
Pray for God's grace to nurture on the inside what He calls us to live out on the outside. ~ Elizabeth George
Nurture quotes by Elizabeth George
If I had to name the single characteristic shared by all truly successful individuals, I'd say it's the ability to create and nurture a network of contacts. ~ Harvey MacKay
Nurture quotes by Harvey MacKay
You gotta chill and relax, and release, meditate, and breathe and walk, and ski and surf, and bask and sunbathe and relax and sing and love and laugh and nurture yourself, and eat good stuff. And find better and better feeling thoughts and practice them until they become the norm. And then everything that life has caused you to become must manifest into your experience. ~ Esther Hicks
Nurture quotes by Esther Hicks
Make time daily to nurture your physical, mental and emotional health. ~ Lailah Gifty Akita
Nurture quotes by Lailah Gifty Akita
My body wasn't made to look good in a string bikini. It was made to feed and nurture a child. ~ Alyssa Milano
Nurture quotes by Alyssa Milano
By cultivating the beautiful we scatter the seeds of heavenly flowers, as by doing good we cultivate those that belong to humanity. ~ Vernon Howard
Nurture quotes by Vernon Howard
Listening is a gift of spiritual significance that you can learn to give to others. When you listen, you give one a sense of importance, hope and love that he or she may not receive any other way. Through listening, we nurture and validate the feelings one has, especially when he or she experiences difficulties in life. ~ H. Norman Wright
Nurture quotes by H. Norman Wright
So you don't think that God created the brain?' I asked.
'No, I don't think that,' Dr. Enderby replied. 'I think that the brain created God. Because the human brain, however wonderful, is still quite fallible - as both you and I know. It's always searching for answers, but even when it's working as it should, its explanations are rarely perfect - especially when it comes to very big, complicated questions. That's why we have to nurture it. We have to give it plenty of space to develop. ~ Gavin Extence
Nurture quotes by Gavin Extence
So many times when we get into emergencies and the situation seems totally hopeless - it's actually a setup. God wants to do something great. He wants to demonstrate his power, so that his name will be praised in a new and greater way. The next generation will hear all about it. After all, their spiritual nurture is far more important than material things. ~ Jim Cymbala
Nurture quotes by Jim Cymbala
Do you want to be successful? Nurture your talent. ~ Tennessee Ernie Ford
Nurture quotes by Tennessee Ernie Ford
I want someone who is my partner in life. Who supports me, and I support her. I can share all my experiences in life with her, and she can share hers back with me. Not only do we love each other, but we accept, embrace, nurture, and care for each other. ~ Tucker Max
Nurture quotes by Tucker Max
Our soul is like a soft and gentle flower, it needs to be nurtured, cared for, tended to, with sufficient sunlight, fresh air and freedom to bloom into its most precious and beautiful form. This, my friend, is self-love. ~ Miya Yamanouchi
Nurture quotes by Miya Yamanouchi
Our bodies are made to nurture and cuddle and all of those amazing things that come along with being a mom. ~ Alyssa Milano
Nurture quotes by Alyssa Milano
Since the choice of what we curl up with is often crucial for our solace and sanity, we need to learn how to nurture the talent of selection. Book browsing is a meditative art ... Books are as essential as breathing. ~ Sarah Ban Breathnach
Nurture quotes by Sarah Ban Breathnach
My affair with Trudy isn't going well. I thought I could take her love for granted. But I've heard biologists debating at dawn. Pregnant mothers must fight the tenants of their wombs. Nature, a mother herself, ordains a struggle for resources that may be needed to nurture my future sibling rivals. My health derives from Trudy, but she must preserve herself against me. So why would she worry about my feelings? If it's in her interests and those of some unconceived squit that I should be undernourished, why trouble herself if a tryst with my uncle upsets me? ~ Ian McEwan
Nurture quotes by Ian McEwan
You must nurture a close walk with God through prayer, because humility's strength is grounded in God. ~ Jim George
Nurture quotes by Jim George
And so you carried
life for the world, Mary,
as you fled,
to protect that very life
from threats of death.
Joining the world's mass of displaced people
you became
Refugee,
Alien,
Immigrant,
Homeless,
and settled in a foreign land--
the only place
to safely nurture
your fragile dream.
Like so many other women
who flee violence,
clutching their babies,
you crossed the border defining you
a stranger,
dependent on foreign aid, welfare
and hand-outs--
the charity of others--
to feed the Son of God. ~ Edwina Gateley
Nurture quotes by Edwina Gateley
Every creative act, however small, enriches our species and the world around us. To find and nurture talent, is to be truly wealthy. ~ Stewart Stafford
Nurture quotes by Stewart Stafford
No body wishes more than I do to see such proofs as you exhibit, that nature has given to our black brethren, talents equal to those of the other colors of men, and that the appearance of a want of them is owing merely to the degraded condition of their existence, both in Africa & America. ~ Thomas Jefferson
Nurture quotes by Thomas Jefferson
I don't really like to work with actors that work a lot and are very well established already. In a way, I like to nurture talent and have it burst on the scene. ~ Maiwenn
Nurture quotes by Maiwenn
Nurture the vision God has put in you ~ Sunday Adelaja
Nurture quotes by Sunday Adelaja
What humanity should realize is that peace, joy, love and abundance cannot exist without the other. To bring one of these qualities into your life is to bring them all. Choose the one you want the most and grow it in your heart, nurture it until it blossoms into a beautiful flower ~ Monica Dumont
Nurture quotes by Monica Dumont
Capable, generous men do not create victims, they nurture victims. ~ Julian Assange
Nurture quotes by Julian Assange
People of all races generally prefer the company of people like themselves. Racial diversity is a source of conflict, not strength. Non-whites, especially blacks and Hispanics, nurture a strong sense of racial pride and solidarity. Whites have little sense of racial solidarity, and most whites strongly condemn any signs of it. Immigration from non-European countries is changing the United States in profound ways, many of which whites find disagreeable. To the extent that these statements are true, they have serious implications both for the country as a whole and for whites as a group. ~ Jared Taylor
Nurture quotes by Jared Taylor
The Writer's Oath
I promise solemnly:
1. to write as often and as much as I can,
2. to respect my writing self, and
3. to nurture the writing of others.
I accept these responsibilities and shall honor them always. ~ Gail Carson Levine
Nurture quotes by Gail Carson Levine
After forty years of working on prevention of a wide range of common and costly psychological and behavioral problems, I am convinced we have the knowledge to achieve a healthier, happier, and more prosperous society than has ever been seen in human history. ~ Anthony Biglan
Nurture quotes by Anthony Biglan
Stories nurture our connection to place and to each other. They show us where we have been and where we can go. They remind us of how to be human, how to live alongside the other lives that animate this planet ... When we lose stories, our understanding of the world is less rich, less true. ~ Susan J. Tweit
Nurture quotes by Susan J. Tweit
Berners-Lee was supremely lucky in the work environment he had settled into, the Swiss particle physics lab CERN. It took him ten years to nurture his slow hunch about a hypertext information platform. ~ Steven Johnson
Nurture quotes by Steven Johnson
Self-mentoring, thus, is advisable for individuals who love the idea of growing, nurturing and building their life without any outside influence. ~ Prem Jagyasi
Nurture quotes by Prem Jagyasi
True biblical love is sacrificing, purifying, nurturing, and enduring. ~ Elizabeth George
Nurture quotes by Elizabeth George
For us to feel good emotionally, we have to look after ourselves. ~ Sam Owen
Nurture quotes by Sam Owen
When I was working on my first novel, 'The Quilter's Apprentice,' I knew I wanted to write about friendship, especially women's friendship and how women use friendship to sustain themselves and nurture each other. ~ Jennifer Chiaverini
Nurture quotes by Jennifer Chiaverini
For integrity to flourish in society, we have to nurture it - within ourselves, in our children, in our education systems. ~ Jaggi Vasudev
Nurture quotes by Jaggi Vasudev
Isn't a person who can live on nothing much stronger? I try to nurture that transformation in myself. ~ Wojciech Kurtyka
Nurture quotes by Wojciech Kurtyka
A real man knows how to nurture nature and nurture himself from nature. ~ Marcus L. Lukusa
Nurture quotes by Marcus L. Lukusa
It was one thing to have your own kind of hope, an ember you could nurture inside, something to inspire you when things got dark. If it died, it was on you; no one else even had to know about it, and you were free to reignite it, or to give up and walk away. But when you were carrying it with another person, for another person, it was a dangerous dream. Treacherous as the sea, yet fragile as a bubble. ~ Sarah Ockler
Nurture quotes by Sarah Ockler
Women are the ones that bear the greatest burden. We are also the ones who nurture societies. ~ Leymah Gbowee
Nurture quotes by Leymah Gbowee
When we soak our soul in the grace of the Gospel, we'll find our desire to spend time with Him in prayer changing. We'll begin to carry on a nonstop conversation with Him in our heart because we know that He loves to hear our voice. Then, when we are faced with a difficult decision, we will be comfortable running to Him. "Lord, I need wisdom." "Lord, I know You're here. Help me to see You. Give me grace!" That'll be our heart's frequent cry. Because the Holy Spirit loves to make Jesus grand in our eyes, He'll nurture, train, and remind us of His gracious condescension. ~ Elyse M. Fitzpatrick
Nurture quotes by Elyse M. Fitzpatrick
For thousands of years it has been understood that, just as civilizations have to come to an end, there can even be times of global extinctions. But always there are people who know how to gather the essence of life and hold it safely, protect it and nurture it until the next seeding. ~ Peter Kingsley
Nurture quotes by Peter Kingsley
Regrets were strange things. The women you lost, the friendships you failed to nurture when only a little effort would have made the difference; the fights you walked away from - good fights, fighting for justice, for wilderness, for peace, all because it would have been a little inconvenient at the time.

Yes, regrets were, indeed, strange things.
Regrets, seasoned with age were the things that denied you the peace of slumber - - that deep sleep that nourishes your soul, not the restive, disquieting sleep of the disappointed and the damned. ~ Wayne D. King
Nurture quotes by Wayne D. King
When we feel deeply drawn to someone, we cathect them; that is, we invest feelings or emotion in them. That process of investment wherein a loved one becomes important to us is called "cathexis". I his book Peck rightly emphasizes that most of us "confuse cathecting with loving." We all know how often individuals of cathecting insist that they love the other person even if they are hurting of neglecting them. Since their feiling is that of cathexis, they insist that what they feel is love.
When we understand love as the will to nurture our own and another's spiritual growth, it becomes clear that we cannot claim to love if we are hurtful and abusive. ~ Bell Hooks
Nurture quotes by Bell Hooks
if I am the longest relationship
of my life
isn't it time to
nurture intimacy
and love
with the person
I lie in bed with each night ~ Rupi Kaur
Nurture quotes by Rupi Kaur
Even Mary had to let her child go…You have to wonder, as Mary watched Jesus on the cross, did she look back and ask herself if she had made a mistake? God had told her she would be the mother of the Savior. You can't get more devastated than Mary, watching her Son - the Savior - die…But Jesus' path wasn't for Mary to determine. Her greatest ability as a mother was to be His mother. To love Him, nurture Him, care for Him. She embraced her destiny, then let Him go to embrace His. You have to let your children embrace theirs. ~ Susan May Warren
Nurture quotes by Susan May Warren
The problem with us is, if we are growing a garden, we are always trying to focus on the flower and the fruit. It is not the flower and the fruit that you should focus on; it is the root that you need to focus on. Rather than nurturing the roots, you are constantly seeking the flower and fruit. You do not have to sit there and pray for flowers and fruits. If you nurture the root, the flowers will anyway fall on your head, even if you do not look for them.
The flower and fruit will not come if you do not nurture the roots. You can only dream about it. But if you nurture the root, flowers and fruits will anyway happen. That is so with the garden, and that is so with your life. ~ Sadhguru
Nurture quotes by Sadhguru
The science of epigenetics has also made it clear that there are two mechanisms by which organisms pass on hereditary information. Those two mechanisms provide a way for scientists to study both the contribution of nature (genes) and the contribution of nurture (epigenetic mechanisms) in human behavior. If you only focus on the blueprints, as scientists have been doing for decades, the influence of the environment is impossible to fathom. (Dennis 2003; Chakravarti and Little 2003) ~ Bruce H. Lipton
Nurture quotes by Bruce H. Lipton
Lost love is still love, Eddie. It takes a different form, that's all. You can't see their smile or bring them food or tousle their hair or move them around a dance floor. But when those senses weaken, another heightens. Memory. Memory becomes your partner. You nurture it. You hold it. You dance with it. "Life has to end," she said. "Love doesn't. ~ Mitch Albom
Nurture quotes by Mitch Albom
Have people in your life who feed your dream, and nurture reality. ~ Tony Curl
Nurture quotes by Tony Curl
We are product of neither nature nor nurture; we are a product of choice, because there is always a space between stimulus and response. As we wisely exercise our power to choose based on principles, the space will become larger. ~ Stephen Covey
Nurture quotes by Stephen Covey
Amazing, how hope lives. Without air or water, with hardly anything at all to nurture it. ~ Lauren Oliver
Nurture quotes by Lauren Oliver
leadership is more than hard work; it is habitual work. It is worked out every day in the tasks we complete, the ways we approach our work, and the rhythms we nurture in our lives. It hangs on the hooks of the patterns we create, not just the success we may stumble upon. ~ Brad Lomenick
Nurture quotes by Brad Lomenick
She should be grateful. Without Vivian she'd be sliding down a dark path toward nowhere good . But it kind of feels nice to nurture her resentment, to foster it. It's something she can savor and control, this feeling of having been wronged by the world. That she has fulfilled her role as a thieving member of the underclass, now indentured to this genteel midwestern white lady, is too perfect for words. ~ Christina Baker Kline
Nurture quotes by Christina Baker Kline
Don't judge me unfriendly, I'm not arrogant, I'm not shy i just like quietness, cause i can nurture my own world and it's make me back as my original as introverted ~ Abhiyanda B.
Nurture quotes by Abhiyanda B.
We cannot, of course, expect every leader to possess the wisdom of Lincoln or Mandela's largeness of soul. But when we think about what questions might be most useful to ask, perhaps we should begin by discerning what our prospective leaders believe it worthwhile for us to hear.

Do they cater to our prejudices by suggesting that we treat people outside our ethnicity, race, creed or party as unworthy of dignity and respect?

Do they want us to nurture our anger toward those who we believe have done us wrong, rub raw our grievances and set our sights on revenge?

Do they encourage us to have contempt for our governing institutions and the electoral process?

Do they seek to destroy our faith in essential contributors to democracy, such as an independent press, and a professional judiciary?

Do they exploit the symbols of patriotism, the flag, the pledge in a conscious effort to turn us against one another?

If defeated at the polls, will they accept the verdict, or insist without evidence they have won?

Do they go beyond asking about our votes to brag about their ability to solve all problems put to rest all anxieties and satisfy every desire?

Do they solicit our cheers by speaking casually and with pumped up machismo about using violence to blow enemies away?

Do they echo the attitude of Musolini: "The crowd doesn't have to know, all they have to do is believe and submit to being shap ~ Madeleine K. Albright
Nurture quotes by Madeleine K. Albright
If you put something fragrant on to burning coals, you motivate those who approach to come back again and to stay near, but if instead you put on something with an unpleasant, oppressive smell, you repel them and drive them away. It is the same with the mind. If your attention is occupied with what is holy, you make yourself worthy of being visited by God, since this is the sweet savour which God catches scent of. On the other hand, if you nurture evil, foul and earthly thoughts within you, you remove yourself from God's supervision and unfortunately make yourself worthy of His aversion. ~ Gregory Palamas
Nurture quotes by Gregory Palamas
If a father does not altogether embrace a life of uncompromised sacrifice as the core of all principles by which he nurtures his children, he is a father by birth only and no power on earth can ever or will ever make that sufficient. ~ Craig D. Lounsbrough
Nurture quotes by Craig D. Lounsbrough
Life may be defined to be the power of self-augmentation or assimilation, not of self-nurture; for then a steam-engine over a coal-pit might be made to live. ~ Augustus William Hare
Nurture quotes by Augustus William Hare
