I'm going to make you feel so good," I swore to her, "that you're going to not just scream my name, but forget yours. ~ Shay Savage
Nick Wolfe quotes by Shay Savage
I didn't marry the mob; I was born into it. ~ Shay Savage
Nick Wolfe quotes by Shay Savage
My companions for the afternoon were affable, welcoming middle-aged men in their late thirties and early forties who simply had no conception of the import of the afternoon for the rest of us. To them it was an afternoon out, a fun thing to do on a Saturday afternoon; if I were to meet them again, they would, I think, be unable to recall the score that afternoon, or the scorer (at half-time they talked office politics), and in a way I envied them their indifference. Perhaps there is an argument that says Cup Final tickets are wasted on the fans, in the way that youth is wasted on the young; these men, who knew just enough about football to get them through the afternoon, actively enjoyed the occasion, its drama and its noise and its momentum, whereas I hated every minute of it, as I hated every Cup Final involving Arsenal. ~ Nick Hornby
Nick Wolfe quotes by Nick Hornby
Wolfe let out a full-blooded hiss, as though he were thinking about coming across the desk at Janus. Wolfe is not to be trifled with. Wolfe is not to be threatened - ~ Anonymous

No, I don't take soup. You can't build a meal on a lake. ~ Elsie De Wolfe
Nick Wolfe quotes by Elsie De Wolfe
I eat a bunch of spinach, but only to clean out my pipes to make room for more ribs, fool! I will submit to fruit and zucchini, yes, with gusto, so that my steak-eating machine will continue to masticate delicious charred flesh at an optimal running speed. By consuming kale, I am buying myself bonus years of life, during which I can eat a shit-ton more delicious meat. You don't put oil in your truck because it tastes good. You do it so your truck can continue burning sweet gasoline and hauling a manly payload. ~ Nick Offerman
Nick Wolfe quotes by Nick Offerman
Good, evil, these are human concepts, ways people have for understanding what it means to be alive," Nick said. "Before people came along, this planet was teeming with life, fighting to survive, to live long enough to reproduce, completing the circle of life."

"I'm with you so far," Elphaba said. "The circle of life is an essential Wiccan principle, in spite of The Lion King."

Nick ignored Elphaba's bit of humor as his mood became more serious. "Precisely so. And in this circle of life, you have predators and prey. The predators must kill to eat. If they don't, they starve. Are the predators evil?"

"No, of course not. They're simply acting on their nature."

"What is human nature, then? Are we a species that builds societies of trust and cooperation, or are we a species that seeks power over our fellow man, even if that means fighting wars or otherwise killing him?"

Elphaba frowned, carefully considering her answer. "I'd like to think we are a species of trust and cooperation."

"Our entire history is a story of war, of murder and mayhem, of blood running in the streets," Nick said quietly.

"Yes, yes it is." Elphaba leaned back, grimacing.

"We are both," Nick said. "A species of cooperation, and a species of strife. We fight wars, and we also establish the rule of law to mete out justice to the criminals in our midst. Humans are both good and evil. ~ Abramelin Keldor
Nick Wolfe quotes by Abramelin Keldor
...those places are reserved for the kind of humiliations are heartbreaks that you're just not capable of delivering. That probably sounds crueler than it is meant to, but the fact is that we're too old to make each other miserable, and that's a good thing, not a bad thing... ~ Nick Hornby
Nick Wolfe quotes by Nick Hornby
Do you want to die, or do you want to die trying? Give up or give it a shot. ~ Nick Trout
Nick Wolfe quotes by Nick Trout
You can have your own language. You can have your own dialect; you can have your own way of saying things, but if you don't actually understand the way the language fits together, it's chaos. ~ Nick Earls
Nick Wolfe quotes by Nick Earls
It could be a technology that would erase a feeling that an entire generation felt while staring into their computer screens. ~ Nick Bilton
Nick Wolfe quotes by Nick Bilton
Love is pain. Real love – the one not spewed in poetry – is agony. It tears at your soul, strips you bare, drives you mad and demands the veracity of our existence. Love is madness. ~ Trisha Wolfe
Nick Wolfe quotes by Trisha Wolfe
It's the cavalry," Digger said.
"Thank Christ," Kelly grumbled. He raised his hands, rubbing at one wrist and dropping his handcuffs to the floor.
"What the hell, man?" Nick whispered.
"What? They were too tight."
Digger dropped his cuffs to the floor with a clank that echoed through the station. "If he's not wearing his, neither am I. ~ Abigail Roux
Nick Wolfe quotes by Abigail Roux
Mae, he made me go out for a run," Jamie called out. "Tell him I don't run!"
"Jamie and I are lilies of the field. We toil not, neither do we jog," Mae informed Nick. ~ Sarah Rees Brennan
Nick Wolfe quotes by Sarah Rees Brennan
This isn't a church social, Sweetheart. You aren't going to be able to save me this time. ~ Katherine Allred
Nick Wolfe quotes by Katherine Allred
The newspaper is, in fact, very bad for one's prose style. That's why I gravitated towards feature stories where you get a little more leeway in the writing style. ~ Tom Wolfe
Nick Wolfe quotes by Tom Wolfe
We have books here bound in the hides of echidnes, krakens, and beasts so long extinct that those whose studies they are, are for the most part of the opinion that no trace of them survives unfossilized. ~ Gene Wolfe
Nick Wolfe quotes by Gene Wolfe
The human eye can detect more shades of green than any other species." ~ Lorne Malvo - Fargo, Season 1 ~ Nick Younker
Nick Wolfe quotes by Nick Younker
Be a military flier or be in a band; those were the two hippest things I could imagine. ~ Nick Lowe
Nick Wolfe quotes by Nick Lowe
The Marie bit is easy enough to understand, then. The Laura thing takes a bit more explaining, but what it is, I think, is this: sentimental music has this great way of taking you back somewhere at the same time that it takes you forward, so you feel nostalgic and hopeful all at the same time. Marie's the hopeful, forward part of it – maybe not her, necessarily, but somebody like her, somebody who can turn things around for me. (Exactly that: I always think that women are going to save me, lead me through to a better life, that they can change and redeem me.) And Laura's the backward part, the last person I loved, and when I hear those sweet, sticky acoustic guitar chords I reinvent our time together, and, before I know it, we're in the car trying to sing the harmonies on "Sloop John B" and getting it wrong and laughing. We never did that in real life. We never sang in the car, and we certainly never laughed when we got something wrong. This is why I shouldn't be listening to pop music at the moment. ~ Nick Hornby
Nick Wolfe quotes by Nick Hornby
Developing the ability to set forth into the world knowing I am ENOUGH, is all I need to live a Healthy, Happy and FREE Lifestyle that I love, because I am enough. ~ Nick Catricala
Nick Wolfe quotes by Nick Catricala
Our work to provide equal opportunities for all Americans should be a year-round mission. ~ Nick Rahall
Nick Wolfe quotes by Nick Rahall

Nick Wolfe quotes by David Wolfe
This is my chance to get out there and appease the fans of my music as well as show people that I do do standup comedy because a lot of people don't know that's where I started. ~ Nick Cannon
Nick Wolfe quotes by Nick Cannon
As Australians, we see the law as inherently bad. We have a real inherent distaste for authority in our makeup. ~ Nick Cave
Nick Wolfe quotes by Nick Cave
It didn't help, reminding herself that if she were back in Blackpool she'd spend the afternoon aching to be in London. It just made her feel that she'd never be happy anywhere. ~ Nick Hornby
Nick Wolfe quotes by Nick Hornby
Art is not eternal. ~ Tom Wolfe
Nick Wolfe quotes by Tom Wolfe
Who we had become was who we were meant to be, two people who would hold onto one another until the end. Who would savor every moment together. Nick had my heart completely and I had his. ~ Devney Perry
Nick Wolfe quotes by Devney Perry
Being you is the only thing worth spotlighting. ~ Nick Jonas
Nick Wolfe quotes by Nick Jonas
Woman to man Is either a God or a wolfe. ~ John Webster
Nick Wolfe quotes by John Webster
I've never been able to sky-dive, and I've always wanted to. I've probably done everything else, but for some reason the insurance company won't let me do it. ~ Nick Cannon
Nick Wolfe quotes by Nick Cannon
You may not have a clue of what lies ahead, but it's better to act on life than simply let life act on you. ~ Nick Vujicic
Nick Wolfe quotes by Nick Vujicic
Each moment is the fruit of forty thousand years. The minute-winning days, like flies, buzz home to death, and every moment is a window on all time. ~ Thomas Wolfe
Nick Wolfe quotes by Thomas Wolfe
I wanted to write rather than do anything else. But 'cause I left school at 15, I didn't know what a noun was, still don't. ~ Nick Frost
Nick Wolfe quotes by Nick Frost
Sometimes I shut up cause I'm afraid I don't have anything interesting to tell anyway ~ Nick Carter
Nick Wolfe quotes by Nick Carter
Nick grinned, swooping in for another kiss and then leaning back and scruffing his hair up. "Harriet Manners, I'm about to give you six stamps. Then I'm going to write something on a piece of paper and put it in an envelope with your address on it."
"OK …" "Then I'm going to put the envelope on the floor and spin us as fast as I can. As soon as either of us manage to stick a stamp on it, I'm going to race to the postbox and post it unless you can catch me first. If you win, you can read it."
Nick was obviously faster than me, but he didn't know where the nearest postbox was. "Deal," I agreed, yawning and rubbing my eyes.
"But why six stamps?"
"Just wait and see."
A few seconds later, I understood.
As we spun in circles with our hands stretched out, one of my stamps got stuck to the ground at least a metre away from the envelope. Another ended up on a daisy. A third somehow got stuck to the roundabout.
One of Nick's ended up on his nose.
And every time we both missed, we laughed harder and harder and our kisses got dizzier and dizzier until the whole world was a giggling, kissing, spinning blur.
Finally, when we both had one stamp left, I stopped giggling. I had to win this.
So I swallowed, wiped my eyes and took a few deep breaths.
Then I reached out my hand.
"Too late!" Nick yelled as I opened my eyes again. "Got it, Manners!" And he jumped off the still-spinning roundabout with the envelope held high over ~ Holly Smale
Nick Wolfe quotes by Holly Smale
South African history did not start in 1652. ~ Nick Wood
Nick Wolfe quotes by Nick Wood
I was always pretty broad. I've had a couple bad experiences. One time, I showed up late for a gig in Brooklyn at an Italian restaurant. I ran on stage, did my show, and then some guy in the audience threatened to kill me because he didn't like my joke. Instead of talking to him, I just ran off stage. And then, because I was late, the owner of the restaurant threatened to kill me. And I was 19 years old and so scared that I almost started crying. But, I've done every gig you can imagine, in every state. ~ Nick Swardson
Nick Wolfe quotes by Nick Swardson
You see, I needed to go to Hell. ~ Nick Tosches
Nick Wolfe quotes by Nick Tosches
The effect of climate change is not simply to reduce rain during the summer months, but also to increase the number of torrential storms. When the rain falls that hard and fast, it cannot sink into the ground and go down to the aquifers. ~ Nick Davies
Nick Wolfe quotes by Nick Davies
Everybody that I meet inspires me. You can learn so much from any person that you meet any day on the side of the street. ~ Nick Carter
Nick Wolfe quotes by Nick Carter
Grieving is like being set afire. Except when you try to put out the flames they disappear; when you try to salve your wounds you find your skin unblemished. You take a breath, thinking the worst has passed, and then grief bursts into flame anew. It rages, it roars, it smolders, all at its own unfathomable whim. You can't shake it; you have no choice but to burn. ~ Marshall Thornton
Nick Wolfe quotes by Marshall Thornton
I'm going to go and leave my blood all over the track. ~ Nick Rogers
Nick Wolfe quotes by Nick Rogers
Organs crawl like aphids upon the immobile motor of becoming ~ Nick Land
Nick Wolfe quotes by Nick Land
I kind of date my musical discovery back to when I was 13 years old, getting my iTunes account and using that as a major tool to discover new music. ~ Nick Jonas
Nick Wolfe quotes by Nick Jonas
Keeping people fired up starts with having a really clear vision for what the company is aiming to do. ~ Nick Woodman
