It was in the fishbowl of the meeting room that everything went completely insane, and this was coming from someone who'd just been visited in a dream by Konstantin Black. ~ Amanda Hocking
Meeting Room quotes by Amanda Hocking
War buddies don't exist in the meeting room. It's a battle between a lot of different officers. Some continue fighting when they don't realize that they have been shot. ~ Hideo Kojima
Meeting Room quotes by Hideo Kojima
Gathered in the folding chairs of the meeting room, they made a diverse group with the drug-addicted, a perfect democracy of collapse. ~ Jeffrey Eugenides
Meeting Room quotes by Jeffrey Eugenides
That somehow dreams are a blurred line between here and there, like a meeting room in a prison. You're both in the same room, yet on different sides and really, in different worlds. ~ Cecelia Ahern

Meeting Room quotes by Virtual Office
When I was research head of General Motors and wanted a problem solved, I'd place a table outside the meeting room with a sign: "Leave slide rules here." If I didn't do that, I'd find someone reaching for his slide rule. Then he'd be on his feet saying, "Boss, you can't do it." ~ Charles Kettering
Meeting Room quotes by Charles Kettering

Meeting Room quotes by Meeting Room
So you get two good hours on the field about every day, you get about an hour and a half in the meeting room and that's pretty much all you need to thoroughly coach your team. ~ Steve Spurrier
Meeting Room quotes by Steve Spurrier
At any Maroon 5 concert, you'll see a room backstage marked 'yoga.' ~ Adam Levine
Meeting Room quotes by Adam Levine
There is, it must be confessed, a curious fascination in hearing deep things talked about, even tho neither we nor the disputants understand them. We get the problematic thrill, we feel the presence of the vastness. Let a controversy begin in a smoking-room anywhere, about free-will or God's omniscience, or good and evil, and see how everyone in the place pricks up his ears. Philosophy's results concern us all most vitally, and philosophy's queerest arguments tickle agreeably our sense of subtlety and ingenuity. ~ William James
Meeting Room quotes by William James
His ex is a nightmare's nightmare. You know, the kind where you wake up and you think you're safe but then you realize you're still asleep and you're still in the nightmare but this one is way worse and finally you wake up with a jolt and your skin is all tingly and you know, you just know someone is in the room and you're going to be brutally attacked and killed." I leaned back. "That's Tate's ex. ~ Kristen Ashley
Meeting Room quotes by Kristen Ashley
Soon the cottage was filled with the familiar, homely smell of frying onions. It escaped from the stove, crept through the kitchen, sniffed along the bottom of the closed front room door and wound its way stealthily up the crooked staircase, even under the door of Anna's bedroom. But even this, the most delicious, hungry-making smell in the world, was unable to rouse her. ~ Joan G. Robinson
Meeting Room quotes by Joan G. Robinson
Maybe ... Maybe this was one of those moments in life, one of those karmic incidents you had to embrace. Maybe the universe had put this man in my path for a reason. Maybe it wasn't coincidence that he'd been there to unlock the dressing room door. ~ Annabel Joseph
Meeting Room quotes by Annabel Joseph
Me? What am I? Nothing. The legs on which dinner comes to the table, the arms by which cocktails enter the living room, the hands that drive cars. I am the eyes that see nothing, the ears that don't hear. I'm invisible too. They look and don't see me. When they move, I have to guess their direction and get myself out of the way. ~ Shirley Ann Grau
Meeting Room quotes by Shirley Ann Grau
although the mission seemed doomed to fail, the four angels might succeed. He prayed also for Dallas Garner, the baby whose life hung in the balance. And for a generation who might never find redemption otherwise. FOUR EMPTY CHAIRS faced each other at the center of the adjacent room. Jag took the lead as they entered the space and shut the door behind them. Windows lined the walls, flooding the place with light and peace. When they were seated, Jag studied his peers. "Are you surprised?" Beck leaned back. Rays of sunshine streamed through the windows and flashed in his green eyes. He breathed deep, clearly bewildered. "Shocked." "It's true, we know the humans better." Ember ran her hand over her long, golden-red hair. Concern knit itself into her expression. "But if they suspect us, it could alter their choices. We must be so very discreet." Jag nodded. "Discretion will be key." He planted his elbows on his knees, leaning closer to the others. ~ Karen Kingsbury
Meeting Room quotes by Karen Kingsbury
I used to spend a lot of time cutting out film posters from papers and putting them up on the wall in my room. ~ Anurag Kashyap
Meeting Room quotes by Anurag Kashyap
The demon's eyes flicked to mine, his smile widening. "This is Nicholas Gregory Sparagmos's room," he said, and my breath caught. "Delightful, just delightful! What are you doing in Nicky's room, Rachel? Ooooh, he summoned you to the West Coast, didn't he? Did you kill him? Good for you for taking care of that little problem! I should give you a bunny. Where is he? Stuffed in a closet?" ~ Algaliarept, Black Magic Sanction, Kim Harrison ~ Kim Harrison
Meeting Room quotes by Kim Harrison
Those whose conduct gives room for talk are always the first to attack their neighbors. ~ Moliere
Meeting Room quotes by Moliere
EVERY WEDNESDAY, I teach an introductory fiction workshop at Harvard University, and on the first day of class I pass out a bullet-pointed list of things the students should try hard to avoid. Don't start a story with an alarm clock going off. Don't end a story with the whole shebang having been a suicide note. Don't use flashy dialogue tags like intoned or queried or, God forbid, ejaculated. Twelve unbearably gifted students are sitting around the table, and they appreciate having such perimeters established. With each variable the list isolates, their imaginations soar higher. They smile and nod. The mood in the room is congenial, almost festive with learning. I feel like a very effective teacher; I can practically hear my course-evaluation scores hitting the roof. Then, when the students reach the last point on the list, the mood shifts. Some of them squint at the words as if their vision has gone blurry; others ask their neighbors for clarification. The neighbor will shake her head, looking pale and dejected, as if the last point confirms that she should have opted for that aseptic-surgery class where you operate on a fetal pig. The last point is: Don't Write What You Know.

The idea panics them for two reasons. First, like all writers, the students have been encouraged, explicitly or implicitly, for as long as they can remember, to write what they know, so the prospect of abandoning that approach now is disorienting. Second, they know an awful lot. In recent wo ~ Bret Anthony Johnston
Meeting Room quotes by Bret Anthony Johnston
the room, that I, this day, declare with the utmost sincerity, I do not think ~ Jack E. Levin
Meeting Room quotes by Jack E. Levin
You can't actually hire us. Check out the room you're in. We don't need your money... That cat's lunch costs more than most government salaries... We can't even spend all the money we have. In fact, it should be us offering you money, just to get rid of some of it. Want some money? - Dan ~ C. Alexander London
Meeting Room quotes by C. Alexander London
They'd both learned that a memory is a fact that has been dyed and trimmed and rinsed so many times that it comes out looking almost unrecognizable to anyone else who was in that room or anyone who was standing on the grass beneath that telephone pole. ~ Mary Beth Keane
Meeting Room quotes by Mary Beth Keane
Meeting a stranger can be totally fleeting and meaningless, for example, unless you enter the individual's world by finding out at least one thing that is meaningful to his or her life and exchange at lest one genuine feeling. Tuning in to others is a circular flow: you send yourself out toward people; you receive them as they respond to you. ~ Deepak Chopra
Meeting Room quotes by Deepak Chopra
We must stop the Tea Party before the United States Senate falls into the hands of extremists and ideologues who leave no room for reason or compromise, who don't recognize common ground even when they're standing on it. ~ Harry Reid
Meeting Room quotes by Harry Reid
My room was made up of strange, random things, but then, so was I. ~ Jamie McGuire
Meeting Room quotes by Jamie McGuire
You should not only have attention to everything, but a quickness of attention, so as to observe at once all the people in the room
their motions, their looks and their words
and yet without staring at them and seeming to be an observer. ~ Lord Chesterfield
Meeting Room quotes by Lord Chesterfield
You are in front of your brother, but your mind is on many other things, so you don't really see your brother. Maybe he is having some trouble, but you don't see it, not even when you share the same room. But mindfulness brings you there, to the present, and then you see. Train yourself all day long to bring your mind to your body and to be present with your food, your friends, your work, everything, because the more you concentrate, the deeper you will see. ~ Chan Khong
Meeting Room quotes by Chan Khong
The real you. I've seen her."
"What does she look like?"
Kingsley sighed and smiled. "She's beautiful. Dangerous. All eyes are on her when she walks into a room. Men fear her but not because she's the enemy. They fear her because she alone can show them who they really are. They fear this knowledge but will pay any price for it."
"Is she happy?" Elle asked.
"She's powerful. She can make her own happiness when she wants it. ~ Tiffany Reisz
Meeting Room quotes by Tiffany Reisz
Would I be more comfortable in a business meeting wearing my pajamas?
No! It would feel, honestly, very weird. I would think, Where's my IV? When do I take my next meds? ~ Tim Gunn
Meeting Room quotes by Tim Gunn
Self-love is essential. Until you can learn how to feel loved in an empty room, you will not feel loved for very long in any other room. ~ Vironika Tugaleva
Meeting Room quotes by Vironika Tugaleva
In the room the women come and go talking of Michelangelo. ~ T. S. Eliot
Meeting Room quotes by T. S. Eliot
The day the library was shut down, he thought, some maiden librarian had moved down the room, pushing each chair against its table. Carefully, with a plodding precision that was the cachet of herself. ~ Richard Matheson
Meeting Room quotes by Richard Matheson
Anyway, lots of warrior tribes think that when they die, they go to a heavenly land somewhere," said the toad. "You know, where they can drink and fight and feast forever? So maybe this is theirs."
"But this is a real place!"
"So? That's what they believe. Besides, they're only small. Maybe the universe is a bit crowded and they have to put heavens anywhere there's room? I'm a toad, so you'll appreciate that I'm having to guess a lot here. ~ Terry Pratchett
Meeting Room quotes by Terry Pratchett
After each dream, Frankie woke with a start, soaked in tears. But she found no relief in the peaceful silence of her room, because there everything was real. And the guilt was too immense to bear. Each time she opened her eyes, she'd quickly shut them. And wish that she had woken up for the very last time. ~ Lisi Harrison
Meeting Room quotes by Lisi Harrison
I could spell it," I say. "Write it down." He hesitates at this novel idea. Possibly he doesn't remember I can. I've never held a pen or a pencil, in this room, not even to add up the scores. Women can't add, he once said, jokingly. When I asked him what he meant, he said, For them, one and one and one and one don't make four. What ~ Margaret Atwood
Meeting Room quotes by Margaret Atwood
It's exciting when kids look up to you or kids come up to you and ask for your autograph. When grown ups come up to you, that's really not exciting. Why would a grown man be excited for meeting another grown man? ~ Clinton Portis
Meeting Room quotes by Clinton Portis
I went to the guest room and pretended to write. I hit the space bar again and again and again. My life story was spaces. ~ Jonathan Safran Foer
Meeting Room quotes by Jonathan Safran Foer
But: all journeys were return journeys. The farther one traveled, the nakeder one got, until, towards the end, ceasing to be animated by any scene, one was most oneself, a man in a bed surrounded by empty bottles. The man who says, "I've got a wife and kids" is far from home; at home he speaks of Japan. But he does not know - how could he? - that the scenes changing in the train window from Victoria Station to Tokyo Central are nothing compared to the change in himself; and travel writing, which cannot but be droll at the outset, moves from journalism to fiction, arriving promptly as the Kodama Echo at autobiography. From there any further travel makes a beeline to confession, the embarrassed monologue in a deserted bazaar. The anonymous hotel room in a strange city ... ~ Paul Theroux
Meeting Room quotes by Paul Theroux
Full moons, skunk weed all up in the room;
You got the munchies, baby? Ice cold milk and Lorna Doones. ~ Ghostface Killah
Meeting Room quotes by Ghostface Killah
I don't have room in my life for folks that large and demanding. ~ Dr. Dre
Meeting Room quotes by Dr. Dre
The thing about life is that life is an infinite subject matter. At any one moment you can say only what' before your mind just then. You have some control over what comes before your mind - you can influence the influx by reading, or by looking through your old notes, or by going to movies, or by talking to people, and you can choose what room of the house or what corner of the yard to sit in, and you can choose to write before or after you've masturbated - this is crucial - and you can choose to tell the truth or not to. And the difficult is that sometimes it's hard to tell the truth because you think that the truth is too personal, or too boring, to tell. Or both. And sometimes it's hard to tell the truth because the truth is hard to see, because it exists in a misty, gray non-space between two strongly charged falsehoods that sound true but aren't. ~ Nicholson Baker
Meeting Room quotes by Nicholson Baker
The FSB's invisible presence continued; the agency became an intangible part of my Moscow life - sometimes loudly, sometimes quietly, with someone in a back room clearly turning the volume of minor persecution up and down. ~ Luke Harding
Meeting Room quotes by Luke Harding
His eyes ran over her hungrily. "I couldn't get it out of my mind," he said, almost to himself, "the way it felt, back at my mother's house. I was never so hungry for anyone, but it wasn't completely physical, even then." He frowned. "I want you, Cecily, and I hate myself for it."
"What else is new?" She gestured toward the door. "Go home. And I hope you don't sleep a wink."
"I probably won't," he said ruefully. He moved toward the door, hesitating.
"Good night," she said firmly, not moving.
He stood with his back to her, his spine very straight. "I can trace my ancestors back before the Mexican War in the early 1800s, pure Lakota blood, undiluted even by white settlement. There are so few of us left…"
She could have wept for what she knew, and he didn't know. "You don't have to explain it to me," she said solemnly. "I know how you feel."
"You don't," he bit off. He straightened again. "I'd die to have you, just once." He turned, and the fire was in his eyes as they met hers, glittering across the room. "It's like that for you, too."
"It's a corruption of the senses. You don't love me," she said quietly. "Without love, it's just sex."
He breathed deliberately, slowly. He didn't want to ask. He couldn't help it. "Something you know?"
"Yes. Something I know," she said, lying with a straight face and a smile that she hoped was worldly. She was not going to settle for crumbs from him, stolen hours in his bed. Men were devious when desi ~ Diana Palmer
Meeting Room quotes by Diana Palmer
Kessell tried to goad the sweat out of him. The wizard swayed the deadly candle tantalizingly about, causing the rays to shift back and forth. When he finally realized that he would not hear any whimpering or begging out of the proud ranger, Kessell grew tired of the game. "Farewell, fool," he growled and puckered his lips to puff on the flame. Regis blew out the candle. Everything seemed to come to a complete halt for several seconds. The wizard looked down at the halfling, whom he thought to be his slave, in horrified amazement. Regis merely shrugged his shoulders, as if he was as surprised by his uncharacteristically brave act as Kessell. Relying on instinct, the wizard threw the silver plate that held the candle through the glass of the mirror and ran screaming toward the back corner of the room to a small ladder hidden in the shadows. ~ R.A. Salvatore
Meeting Room quotes by R.A. Salvatore
Mushy food is a form of sensory deprivation. In the same way that a dark, silent room will eventually drive you to hallucinate, the mind rebels against bland, single-texture foods, edibles that do not engage the oral device. ~ Mary Roach
Meeting Room quotes by Mary Roach
He seemed grown-up, compared to the boys at school, and although he was not handsome, or even particularly good-looking - there were still some scars on his face from the skin trouble he had when he was younger - his face was agreeable because it was so ... What was the word? Kind, perhaps. Or gentle. But strong, too. He was genuinely glad to see all of Sue's family, and when Sue entered the room and he helped her on with her coat, Jean thought he acted as if her sister was someone precious to him. ~ Beverly Cleary
Meeting Room quotes by Beverly Cleary
An intruder broke into Mike Tyson's hotel room in Las Vegas while he was sleeping but got out before Tyson could get to him. I don't know what's scarier. Having someone breaking into your room while you're sleeping or breaking into someone else's room and finding out the guy is Mike Tyson. ~ Jay Leno
