It can be proven that wounded people wound others. Walk circumspectly among wounded people, their injuries are deeply submerged in their brain's amygdala, and without the time-tested practice of emotional intelligence, you might find yourself scarred by association. Give your associations time to reveal their emotional intelligence or lack thereof; employers measure their associates seasonally, quarterly, and or annually; but ask yourself the question: (Q) WHY haven't you? ~ Tracey Bond
Measure Relationships quotes by Tracey Bond
If manifestations of her love are overwhelming and sometimes seem imprudent, it's because the intensity of such caring doesn't exist in other areas of life. Ma does not love from behind a protective shield. I'm incapable of opening up to people in the way she does. Ma isn't afraid of being vulnerable and doesn't measure relationships in terms of what she can gain. If her feelings are hurt, she doesn't hide the pain or seek revenge. She stumbles over the setback as though it's one of life's quirky tests of fortitude and moves on without storing any resentment. ~ Adib Khan
Measure Relationships quotes by Adib Khan
In our relationships we need to uphold that aspect of the person which is the real person and the soul beyond their own self-doubt. ~ Vilayat Inayat Khan
Measure Relationships quotes by Vilayat Inayat Khan
They call this love, she said to herself. I know what it is now. I never thought I would know, but I do now.

But she failed to add: if you can step back and identify it, is it really there? Shouldn't you be unable to know what the whole thing's about? Just blindly clutch and hold and fear that it will get away. But unable to stop, to think, to give it any name.

Just two more people sharing a common human experience. Infinite in its complexity, tricky at times, but almost always successfully surmounted in one of two ways: either blandly content with the results as they are, or else vaguely discontent but chained by habit. Most women don't marry a man, they marry a habit. Even when a habit is good, it can become monotonous; most do. When it is bad in just the average degree it usually becomes no more than a nuisance and an irritant; and most do.

But when it is darkly, starkly evil in the deepest sense of the word, then it can truly become a hell on earth.

Theirs seemed to fall midway between the first two, for just a little while. Then it started veering over slowly toward the last. Very slowly, at the start, but very steadily...

("For The Rest Of Her Life") ~ Cornell Woolrich
Measure Relationships quotes by Cornell Woolrich
Still, she knows one thing for certain: never judge a relationship unless you are the one wrapped up in its arms. ~ Alice Hoffman
Measure Relationships quotes by Alice Hoffman
Consider, too, the matter of display, the claims of "specialness" implicit in attack by witchcraft. Such claims were most vividly dramatized in full-blown "fits," but, in a lesser measure, they may be imputed to all self-described victims: "The forces of evil have chosen me as their target. And you - the standers-by - must attend to me in my hour of affliction." This ~ John Putnam Demos
Measure Relationships quotes by John Putnam Demos
And yes, I say, I do like girls. I don't pursue them, though, and there are a lot of reasons for that. It's gotten me in trouble before, but I also think I have ridiculously high standards because the whole dating, fooling around thing seems so complicated. And not in a good way. I hate obligations, and if you want to be with a girl, it's like you're expected to do certain things. And do them a certain way. ~ Stephanie Kuehn
Measure Relationships quotes by Stephanie Kuehn
Launching a turnaround takes courage. I cannot measure that and so it is not going to be included in my analysis, but behind the moments of change there are always a few people within these societies who have decided to try to make a difference. ~ Paul Collier
Measure Relationships quotes by Paul Collier
Amount of search is not a measure of the amount of intelligence being exhibited. What makes a problem a problem is not that a large amount of search is required for its solution, but that a large amount would be required if a requisite level of intelligence were not applied. ~ Allen Newell
Measure Relationships quotes by Allen Newell
We [Americans] have a historical trauma when it comes to the past relationships when it comes to Native Americans and the history of how America was created. With this film, it's nice to see that the trauma is presented from a white male that was in the Civil War and that trauma affects him in a way that still exists. ~ Adam Beach
Measure Relationships quotes by Adam Beach
She's over the top rebellious,
but damn her heart
overflowing with insane love.
She shakes thing up.
Doesn't play by rules and certainly fits
in nobody's pretty perfect box. ~ Melody Lee
Measure Relationships quotes by Melody Lee
That economics has a considerable conceptual apparatus with an appropriate terminology can not be a serious ground for complaint. Economic phenomena, ideas, instruments of analysis exist. They require names. Education in economics is, in considerable measure, an introduction to this terminology and to the ideas that it denotes. Anyone who has difficulties with the ideas should complete his education or, following an exceedingly well-beaten path, leave the subject alone. It is sometimes said that the economist has a special obligation to make himself understood because his subject is of such great and popular importance. By this rule the nuclear physicist would have to speak in monosyllables. ~ John Kenneth Galbraith
Measure Relationships quotes by John Kenneth Galbraith
Science begins with counting. To understand a phenomenon, a scientist must first describe it; to describe it objectively, he must first measure it. ~ Siddhartha Mukherjee
Measure Relationships quotes by Siddhartha Mukherjee
I think us gals need to stay in and just change the way it works, so men aren't being workaholics and avoiding life and relationships, and they can make films in a reasonable amount of time, so you can have a family and a life outside of work. And have more balanced, content-driven, enjoyable movies. ~ Joan Cusack
Measure Relationships quotes by Joan Cusack
People use you and what do you do? You use them too.. We all are mean! ~ Honeya
Measure Relationships quotes by Honeya
The is no master in love, WE are all learners. ~ Rudzani Ralph
Measure Relationships quotes by Rudzani Ralph
I hold a strict policy of automatic grudges against people everyone likes. ~ Kate Hattemer
Measure Relationships quotes by Kate Hattemer
Eventually,we would mean nothing to each other and become strangers again. What I want you to do, either become someone to me or stay nothing at all because when we go strangers to each other, I don't wanna see another me by your side waiting to be nothing.. ~ Himmilicious
Measure Relationships quotes by Himmilicious
I am an anti-capitalist because I believe we can improve on it. I believe that we can create the vision I have for a totalized system, a unified system, that can effectively do things. Stop global warming. Feed everybody. Settle disputes diplomatically, and when necessary, quash disputes militarily with proportional measure. This may sound unnecessarily harsh, but it needs to be said, because it is part and parcel of any type of system, if it is to be successful. This is what I think can save us. ~ Slavoj Zizek
Measure Relationships quotes by Slavoj Zizek
Chasing your tale? Sometimes we relive past accomplishments, failures and or past relationships to the point of exhaustion. When we do this, I liken it to a dog chasing its tail, just spinning round and round and going nowhere fast. Constantly chasing our own tales has the same effect on us. It leaves us in a state of dizzying immobility. When we wrap our arms so firmly around our past we leave little room to embrace our present future and that, my friends, is a sad tale to tell. ~Jason Versey ~ Jason Versey
Measure Relationships quotes by Jason Versey
I have not seen that standardised tests make the profession less attractive, though some principals respond to them in a way that drives the best teachers out of their schools (by over-emphasising test prep in the school curriculum for example). On the other hand, great teachers want benchmarks to measure progress and tests can help with that. ~ Wendy Kopp
Measure Relationships quotes by Wendy Kopp
Liberated relationships are one of the ways we actually create abundant justice, the understand that there is enough attention, care, resource, and connection for all of us to access belonging, to be in our dignity, and to be safe in community ~ Adrienne Maree Brown
Measure Relationships quotes by Adrienne Maree Brown
The measure of your holiness is proportionate to the goodness of your will. ~ John Of Ruysbroeck
Measure Relationships quotes by John Of Ruysbroeck
It's important to remember that having a conversation about us (LGBT) without us will usually be a recycling or preconceived ideas and misconceptions.
Can you imagine a group of male church leaders discussing the role of women in the church without females present. We would call that misogyny. Or church leadership discussing indigenous issues without ever consulting with indigenous people themselves to get insight into what their life experience is really all about. We would call that white supremacy/racism/elitism. The church has done a great deal of talking about us but rarely has spoken with us. So when church leaders discuss LGBT people, relationships and the community without speaking with or spending time getting to know LGBT people it does beg the question why. What is there to fear? Why the exclusion? Is this another evidence of homophobia?
It's time for the church to invite LGBT people into the conversation. For some this is a conversation about their thoughts and beliefs but for us it is about who we are. You can ask questions. What was it like to sit in church and hear the word abomination to describe your orientation. What was it like to get to the point of coming out knowing you might be rejected by those you've loved and a church you've served.? How did you find resolution of your Christian beliefs and your sexuality? In listening you will learn.
That's why it's so important to remember. No conversation about us, without us. ~ Anthony Venn-Brown OAM
Measure Relationships quotes by Anthony Venn-Brown OAM
Something is definitely wrong with my feelings about marriage and procreation. I worry that not only am I missing the chromosome that allows me to dance respectably, but that I am also lacking a conventional vagina. ~ Chelsea Handler
Measure Relationships quotes by Chelsea Handler
The best you can hope for in a relationship is to find
someone whose flaws are the sort you don't mind. It is
futile to look for someone who has no flaws, or someone
who is capable of significant change; that sort of person
exists only in our imaginations. ~ Scott Adams
Measure Relationships quotes by Scott Adams
I used to measure the skies, now I measure the shadows of Earth.
Although my mind was sky-bound, the shadow of my body lies here.
[Epitaph he composed for himself a few months before he died] ~ Johannes Kepler
Measure Relationships quotes by Johannes Kepler
Informal relationships are not mere minor interstitial supplements to the major institutions of society. These informal relationships not only include important decision-making processes, such as the family, but also produce much of the background social capital without which the other major institutions of society could not function nearly as effectively as they do. ~ Thomas Sowell
Measure Relationships quotes by Thomas Sowell
One of the strangest things about being an actor is that people you don't know feel that they are allowed to comment on your hair, body, clothes, relationships. ~ Courtney Thorne-Smith
Measure Relationships quotes by Courtney Thorne-Smith
The test scores used in admissions are a measure of what colleges take in, not what they produce. The fact that an Ivy League school has freshmen with high SAT scores tells us that it is a good magnet for talent but nothing else. What should matter is how students, including those with low SAT scores, improve over the course of their time in school. ~ Fareed Zakaria
Measure Relationships quotes by Fareed Zakaria
It looks like the age of the mass is behind us and the age of the individual is upon us. The chasm that now exists between new people and old organizations is destroying economic value and inhibiting the emergence of a new chapter of capitalism aligned with the needs of this new society. The new purpose of commerce is to provide the tools, platforms, and relationships, digital or human, that enable individuals to live the lives they choose. ~ Shoshana Zuboff
Measure Relationships quotes by Shoshana Zuboff
I wish there wasn't such a division between people who believe certain things and people who don't. It seems vastly hypocritical on both ends, these two groups of people both claiming to believe in good things and yet willing to do bad things to each other for disagreeing. ~ Kevin Breel
Measure Relationships quotes by Kevin Breel
She used to test his commitment by hurting him. She threatened to leave him, or cheat on him, then watched his face and measured the depth of his feelings for her by the extent to which it crumbled. He was insecure; prone to worry. If he ever became confident, she thought, it would mean that he no longer loved her, since to love someone is to worry; to need someone is to fear the inevitability of their absence. Without fear, she thought, without drama, there was only the grey blankness of late-middle-age relationships, where, as far as she could make out, concepts like love and passion were replaced by what she saw as the wretched terminology of codependent ennui: companionship, contentment, compromise; where one person's love for another was no longer stated simply because it was no longer questioned; where the key indicator not only of love but also of solidity would simply be the mere fact of the solidity and love that had gone before. No, no, she thought. Better the sense of odds, of struggle; the ongoing and repeated relief of trauma endured and survived. Without it, there was only the security of the unimaginative: an unspokenly dwindling sex life; roiling resentment; his-and-hers facial hair. ~ Sam Byers
Measure Relationships quotes by Sam Byers
If you always say no, you will never say yes ~ Dat Guy
Measure Relationships quotes by Dat Guy
Pigeons are gentle and smart and have complex social relationships. Their hearing and vision are both excellent. ~ Ingrid Newkirk
Measure Relationships quotes by Ingrid Newkirk
Good Things Happen to Big-Thinking People A tourist walked down a pier and watched a fisherman pull in a large fish, measure it, and throw it back. He caught a second fish, smaller this time, he measured it, and put it in his basket. Oddly, all fish over 10 inches, he discarded. The smaller ones, he kept. Someone asked him, "why?" The fisherman said, "Because my frying pan only measures 10 inches." Is that foolish? Of course it is, but it's no more so than when we throw away the biggest ideas and most beautiful dreams that come into your mind simply because your experience is too limited. Start growing now. Start thinking. Big things happen to big-thinking people. You can become the team you want to be. It's possible. Every man must make his contribution. ~ Peter G. Tormey
Measure Relationships quotes by Peter G. Tormey
In reality, Jesus' vision for intergenerational relationships was anything but cute. It was and is both radical and revolutionary. ~ Kara E. Powell
