Like families, competitors can bring out the worst as well as the best in each other. Like romance, competition has many faces, some of them ugly. In addition to showing me my grace and graciousness, the mirror of sports has reflected back to me my jealousy, pettiness, and arrogance. ~ Mariah Nelson
Many Faces quotes by Mariah Nelson
This was the only door she ever opened, the door into herself. And her taciturnity was such that in a mirror, where every woman smiles at her reflection, she struck at herself over and over again, hammering her own effigy at her dumb forge. No flame, no air. Clad in red velvet, adorned in white, in black or pearl, her face heavily made up beneath the large pale forehead. In the heart of her room, encircled by candelabras, nothing but herself; a self always unseizable, and whose many faces she was forever unable to assemble in a single look. ~ Valentine Penrose
Many Faces quotes by Valentine Penrose
A city isn't so unlike a person. They both have the marks to show they have many stories to tell. They see many faces. They tear things down and make new again. ~ Rasmenia Massoud
Many Faces quotes by Rasmenia Massoud
As the Wheel of Time turns, places wear many names. Men wear many names, many faces. Different faces, but always the same man. Yet no one knows the Great Pattern the Wheel weaves, or even the Pattern of an Age. We can only watch, and study, and hope. ~ Robert Jordan
Many Faces quotes by Robert Jordan
Some things you cannot see or explain, but they are there, lurking.
Some things dwell in the dark: waiting ... watching ... haunting.
Sometimes evil takes on many forms, many faces.
And silence is the last thing you hear, when it's already too late.
THE SILENCE ~ Barry Brickey
Many Faces quotes by Barry Brickey
That's God," he said. "He goes by many names, many faces, but God is simply that - love. I find God in this church, in the faces of my parishioners. One man may find it in nature, in the majesty of a tree or a river," he said and then looked directly at Simon. "Or another man may find it in a woman's smile. Wherever it's to be found, it's to be cherished. When you find it, you hold onto it and nothing, no force, no evil can take it from you. It's yours forever. And that, my dear, is something very powerful. ~ Monique Martin
Many Faces quotes by Monique Martin
Immortal existence..

Sometimes Living is not such an easy task..
Being here or there..
The spirit is the same.. Only changes the place where shows..
Here, the make-up is of meat.. There is infinite LIGHT..
In the flesh, or out of it , what does order is what thinks and what creates..
Each thought, a vibration..
Each action, a reaction..
That doesn't change with the death of the body.. Because actually nobody dies..
We are immortal divine existences.. Believing or not..
So many lives.. So many experiences..
So many faces.. So many dreams..
To each life new opportunities.. New learnings..
The soul Request.. Thirsty to experiment, feels, develop, evolve, grow and so it goes..
The spirit Obeys.. Enters and exit the perishable bodies..
Gets right and misses.. rehearses, Conquers and proceeds..
The spirit is a gift of the architect of the universe for the benefit of all..
It's light.. it's love.. it's eternal..
In the Astral or in the Earth.. There is to educate the thought and to clean the energies around yourself..
Gives some work to do that spiritual maintenance, but it is worthwhile.
It is Light that cleans the Light!
So never forget you are imperishable consciousness..
May a light circle involves and illuminate each soul..
Much light and love in each heart that pulses in the heart of the whole..
Namaste,
Dave ~ Dave Zebian
Many Faces quotes by Dave Zebian
Spirit-Filled One,
Your Grandma is God and so are your favorite star and rock.
God has many names and many faces.
God is Mother, Daughter, and Wise Old Crone.
She is found in your mothers, in your daughters, and in you.
God is the God of Sarah, and Hagar, of Leah and Rachel.
She is Mother of all Living, and blessed are Her daughters.
You are girl-woman made in Her image.
You can run fast, play hard, and climb trees.
You are Batwoman, firewoman, and Goddess.
The spirit of the universe pulsates through you.
Be full of yourself. You are good. You are very good. ~ Patricia Lynn Reilly
Many Faces quotes by Patricia Lynn Reilly
(Tuesday, 21 April 1964)
They needn't talk to me about loneliness. I've walked too many miles of pavement. I've scanned so many faces - I've looked with so much furtive hope, but it's never right. Only in my imagination. There, I have marvellous conversations with someone attractive, slow, charmingly phlegmatic & naturally reticent, and with me, he becomes articulate. But in fact, I take a sleeping pill & tell myself to shut up. ~ Kenneth Williams
Many Faces quotes by Kenneth Williams
Passers-by

Passers-by,
Out of your many faces
Flash memories to me
Now at the day end
Away from the sidewalks
Where your shoe soles traveled
And your voices rose and blent
To form the city's afternoon roar
Hindering an old silence.

Passers-by,
I remember lean ones among you,
Throats in the clutch of a hope,
Lips written over with strivings,
Mouths that kiss only for love,
Records of great wishes slept with,
Held long
And prayed and toiled for:

Yes,
Written on
Your mouths
And your throats
I read them
When you passed by. ~ Carl Sandburg
Many Faces quotes by Carl Sandburg
Fear has many faces. ~ Nicolas Roeg
Many Faces quotes by Nicolas Roeg
I think that it [the Church] stands for everything most hostile to the mental emancipation and stimulation of mankind. It is the completest, most highly organized system of prejudices and antagonisms in existence. Everywhere in the world there are ignorance and prejudice, but the greatest complex of these, with the most extensive prestige and the most intimate entanglement with traditional institutions, is the Roman Catholic Church. It presents many faces towards the world, but everywhere it is systematic in its fight against freedom. ~ H.G.Wells
Many Faces quotes by H.G.Wells
The battle has many faces and most of them we can see in the mirror! ~ Vlad Zachary
Many Faces quotes by Vlad Zachary
The wine was red wine, and had stained the ground of the narrow street in the suburb of Saint Antoine, in Paris, where it was spilled. It had stained many hands, too, and many faces, and many naked feet, and many wooden shoes. The hands of the man who sawed the wood, left red marks on the billets; and the forehead of the woman who nursed her baby, was stained with the stain of the old rag she wound about her head again. Those who had been greedy with the staves of the cask, had acquired a tigerish smear about the mouth; and one tall joker so besmirched, his head more out of a long squalid bag of a nightcap than in it, scrawled upon a wall with his finger dipped in muddy wine-lees - BLOOD. ~ Charles Dickens
Many Faces quotes by Charles Dickens
There are quantities of human beings, but there are many more faces, for each person has several. ~ Rainer Maria Rilke
Many Faces quotes by Rainer Maria Rilke
Pain has many faces ... the unseen part of man is often the victim of the most debilitating of pains ... a man can endure excruciating physical pain, and yet he can be felled by one unkind word. ~ Billy Graham
Many Faces quotes by Billy Graham
Dissociation is the ultimate form of human response to chronic developmental stress, because patients with dissociative disorders report the highest frequency of childhood abuse and/or neglect among all psychiatric disorders. The cardinal feature of dissociation is a disruption in one or more mental functions. Dissociative amnesia, depersonalization, derealization, identity confusion, and identity alterations are core phenomena of dissociative psychopathology which constitute a single dimension characterized by a spectrum of severity.
Clinical Psychopharmacology and Neuroscience 2014 Dec; 12(3): 171-179
The Many Faces of Dissociation: Opportunities for Innovative Research in Psychiatry ~ Verdat Sar
Many Faces quotes by Verdat Sar
Although the Singularity has many faces, its most important implication is this: our technology will match and then vastly exceed the refinement and suppleness of what we regard as the best of human traits. ~ Ray Kurzweil
Many Faces quotes by Ray Kurzweil
It had been some time since Magnus was last in love, and he was beginning to feel the effects. He remembered the glow of love as brighter and the pain of loss as gentler than they had actually been. He found himself looking into many faces for potential love, and seeing many people as shining vessels of possibility. Perhaps this time there would be that indefinable something that sent hungry hearts roving, longing and searching for something, they knew not what, and yet could not give up the quest. Every time a face or a look or a gesture caught Magnus's eye these days, it woke to life a refrain in Magnus's breast, a song in persistent rhythm with his heartbeat. Perhaps this time, perhaps this one. ~ Cassandra Clare
Many Faces quotes by Cassandra Clare
It is the mainspring of life, courage. And courage has many faces. ~ Oriana Fallaci
Many Faces quotes by Oriana Fallaci
As for my looks, if I didn't look the way I do, I would probably be one of those many faces doing a romcom, which I detest. The way I look has somewhere defined the characters I played. My weakness has become my strength. ~ Emraan Hashmi
Many Faces quotes by Emraan Hashmi
the scarred face of a clone, the features an echo of so many faces from Vader's past. Rex. Cody. Fives. Echo. The roster of names moved through Vader's mind, each of them a trigger for a memory, each of them a ghost from his past. ~ Paul S. Kemp
Many Faces quotes by Paul S. Kemp
And truth and trust are the means by which civilization holds off barbarism. When those in power intend to abuse that power, they look to an outside enemy in order to trick their people into pressing the means to their own abuse into the hands of the abusers. If an enemy does not exist, it will be manufactured, and all manner of horrors attributed to it, so that anyone who demands truth and accountability is set upon as being unpatriotic. And so that, when someone said to be an enemy is found, there will be few questions asked about guilt or innocence, and many faces averted when he is taken away. ~ Mercedes Lackey
Many Faces quotes by Mercedes Lackey
Talking nonsense, I called your name like a chant, over and over. I wont forget you, your voice or your many faces; they're spun into my heart. ~ Plastic Tree
Many Faces quotes by Plastic Tree
But which was the real me? Let me be perfectly honest: I was a man of many faces. (p.33) ~ Milan Kundera
Many Faces quotes by Milan Kundera
A circle drawn on a blackboard, a right triangle, a rhombus
all these are forms we can fully intuit; Ireneo could do the same with the stormy mane of a young colt, a small herd of cattle on a mountainside, a flickering fire and its uncountable ashes, and the many faces of a dead man at a wake. I have no idea how many stars he saw in the sky. ~ Jorge Luis Borges
Many Faces quotes by Jorge Luis Borges
Sure it is that They have many faces. All the shapes the Divine shows us are true; and none are all the Truth. ~ S.M. Stirling
Many Faces quotes by S.M. Stirling
Those whose eyes are open cannot see for they are blinded by the lust of all that is around them, and it is only when your eyes are closed that you may see that which is not visible ~ Judy Azar LeBlanc
Many Faces quotes by Judy Azar LeBlanc
You grow. You don't want to stay the same. The thing that was great for you before isn't going to be great for you now. A woman should have many faces through her life, not just one face, not just one hairdo, not just one way. You want to keep rediscovering what's fun for you. ~ Sharon Stone
Many Faces quotes by Sharon Stone
When we look outside of that on which we depend we ignore our unity; looking outward we see many faces; look inward and all is one head. If a man could but be turned about, he would see at once God and himself and the All. ~ Plotinus
Many Faces quotes by Plotinus
The harassed look is that of a desperately tired swimmer or runner; yet there is no question of stopping. The creature we are watching will struggle on and on until it drops. Not because it is heroic. It can imagine no alternative.
Staring and staring into the mirror, it sees many faces within its face - the face of the child, the boy, the young man, the not-so-young-man - all present still, preserved as fossils, dead. Their message to this live dying creature is: Look at us - we have died -what is there to be afraid of?
It answers them: But it happened so gradually, so easily. I am afraid of being rushed. ~ Christopher Isherwood
Many Faces quotes by Christopher Isherwood
It seems to me that I have always wanted to say the same thing in my books: that life is one, that mystery is all around us, that yeterday, today and tomorrow are all spread out in the pattern of eternity, together, and that although love may wear many faces in the incomprehensible panorama of time, in the heart that loves, it is always the same. ~ Robert Nathan
Many Faces quotes by Robert Nathan
The trickster, the riddler, the keeper of balance, he of the many faces who finds life in death and who fears no evil; he who walks through doors. ~ Christopher Paolini
Many Faces quotes by Christopher Paolini
Who was the real me? I can only repeat: I was a man of many faces.

At meetings I was earnest, enthusiastic, and committed; among friends, unconstrained and given to teasing; with Marketa, cynical and fitfully witty; and alone (and thinking of Marketa), unsure of myself and as agitated as a schoolboy.

Was the last face the real one?

No. They were all real: I was not a hypocrite, with one real face and several false ones. I had several faces because I was young and didn't know who I was or wanted to be. (I was frightened by the differences between one face and the next; none of them seemed to fit me properly, and I groped my way clumsily among them.) ~ Milan Kundera
Many Faces quotes by Milan Kundera
The truth is schizophrenic and has as many faces as there are people. ~ Roel Hollander
Many Faces quotes by Roel Hollander
Be selfish, be unreasonable, and don't worry about it. We're girls, so we are allowed. Being a girl is a privilege, and we should take full advantage of that fact. We have the right and the duty to act as we please. But a boy who makes a girl cry is worthless and he brings shame into the romance and makes it untrue. ~ CLAMP
Many Faces quotes by CLAMP
So many faces in and out of my life Some will last Some will be just now and then. Life is a series of hellos and goodbyes I'm afraid it's time for goodbye again. Say goodbye to Hollywood Say goodbye my baby Say goodbye to Hollywood Say goodbye my baby. ~ Billy Joel
Many Faces quotes by Billy Joel
Many have served Him of Many Faces through the centuries, but only a few of His servants have been women. Women bring life into the world. We bring the gift of death. No one can do both. ~ George R R Martin
Many Faces quotes by George R R Martin
It is the common wonder of all men, how, among so many million faces, there should be none alike. ~ Thomas Browne
Many Faces quotes by Thomas Browne
They lie in all the pools, pale faces, deep deep under the dark water. I saw them: grim faces and evil, and noble faces and sad. Many faces proud and fair, and weeds in their silver hair. But all foul, all rotting, all dead. ~ J.R.R. Tolkien
Many Faces quotes by J.R.R. Tolkien
I believe we have a double in every country. There's something about that that is probably a commonness that we don't make note of. That maybe there's only a cast for so many faces, and we live everywhere. ~ Richie Havens
Many Faces quotes by Richie Havens
It is in unity that we find strength, in unity we find hope, and in unity we can stand firm as the darkness approaches. Let us stand together – and stand firm – against the many faces of hate. ~ Nick Lowles
Many Faces quotes by Nick Lowles
I really admire artists who take the time to recharge their batteries and not continually call on it. I think you can spot tired and jaded artists quite quickly. ~ Rupert Friend
Many Faces quotes by Rupert Friend
Fatigue is an excellent gauge of well-being because it is a very hard symptom to mask. The only way to get rid of fatigue is to treat the underlying causes. Fatigue has many faces, but they all say the same thing - the mental and physical load are too great. ~ Kathleen A. Kendall-Tackett
Many Faces quotes by Kathleen A. Kendall-Tackett
He found himself looking into many faces for potentional love, and seeing many people as shining vessels of possibility. Perhaps this time there would be that indefinable something that sent hungry hearts roving, longing and searching for something, they knew not what, and yet could not give up the quest. ~ Cassandra Clare
Many Faces quotes by Cassandra Clare
I am a shadow. I walk the wet roads under the dim light of the pale lamps, in the darkest hour of the cold dull nights.
I walk past the silent graveyard of the dead memories, towards the city of chaos plagued with gloom.
I do not exist, but in the eyes of the shattered souls. In the chapter of an old book. In the poem. In the smile of a wrecked and in the tear of a broken spirit.
Listen me in the songs told in the times long forgotten.
Search for me in the churchs and temples, bars and brothels, pitch black nights and the colorless days.
Dive down in your deepest part of your soul. And you will find my home.
I have many faces but I have no face of my own. I am a shadow. ~ Foaad Ahmad
Many Faces quotes by Foaad Ahmad
It is well-known that there are many faces in the world over the finishing of which nature did not take much trouble, did not employ any fine tools such as files, gimlets, and so on, but simply hacked them out with round strokes: one chop-a nose appears; another chop-lips appear; eyes are scooped out with a big drill; and she lets it go into the world rough-hewn, saing: ALIVE! ~ Nikolai Gogol
Many Faces quotes by Nikolai Gogol
So far it has been assumed that the only pregnancies which are aborted are accidental ones and the only foetuses destroyed those whose mothers could not bear the thought of their becoming children. In a just world this would be the case, but the world is far from just. Too many women are forced to abort by poverty, by their menfolk, by their parents. Poverty has many faces; it may be the poverty of the young, the unmarried, the student, the unemployed, the female or a combination of these. ~ Germaine Greer
Many Faces quotes by Germaine Greer
Let's say that the God the Christians pray to is real. He actually exists. But this God is the same as the one that the Jews pray to and the same as the one that the Muslims pray to and whatever other religions are praying to a God, He is the one. One God with many faces. Most of these religions contain the myth of the Anti-Christ, a being who will come one day and lead the world astray, lead the world to a place of sin and evil. Who could this Anti-Christ be ... Consider the God with many faces. How many wars have been fought in His Name? How many people have been beaten, jailed, and maimed to prove His points. Think of the Inquisition, the Holocaust, Salem, and the Sudan. All of these tragedies carried out in His name. Why is it accepted that He is a force for good? If we were to look for the Anti-Christ just by his accomplishments, wouldn't we clearly suspect the being who is the cause of so much woe? ~ S.T. Rogers
Many Faces quotes by S.T. Rogers
Many of you doubt that a three-year-old could speak like that. Some of you are probably worried that your doubt is racist and classist. After all, how could a poor reservation Indian kid be that self-possessed and radical? Well that was me. I was the UnChild.
I said, "I will spell my name the way I want to spell my name."
I vividly remember the expression on the ex-holy man's face. I have seen that expression on many faces. I have often caused that expression. That expression means "I might win this one fight with Junior, a.k.a. Sherman Two, the son of Lillian the Cruel, but he will immediately start another fight. And another. And another. ~ Sherman Alexie
Many Faces quotes by Sherman Alexie
Being is always becoming; people change and stay the same. What is true for bodies is also true for selves: even the most honest person has many faces, none of which are false. ~ Dexter Palmer
Many Faces quotes by Dexter Palmer
Darkness had so many faces. ~ George Moser
Many Faces quotes by George Moser
There is no such thing as Good: virtue is simply one of the many faces of terror ... terror of God's judgement, of what other people would say, of the law punishing any mistake ~ Paulo Coelho
Many Faces quotes by Paulo Coelho
Negative thinking is subtle and deceptive. It wears many faces and hides behind the mask of excuses. It is important to strip away the mask and discover the real, root emotion. ~ Robert H. Schuller
Many Faces quotes by Robert H. Schuller
Because anger has too many faces, too many masks. This type of anger is the kind you don't recognize until it's too late ~ Rachel Van Dyken
Many Faces quotes by Rachel Van Dyken
Gods have many faces. ~ Subhash Kak

Stigma against mental illness is a scourge with many faces, and the medical community wears a number of those faces. ~ Elyn R. Saks

Their dad said, "Heaven is beautiful like your mother was beautiful, but like it beauty is fleeting and once beheld for years, for decades, gold that seemed precious and unique no longer holds the significance it once held to the one who has possessed it and been possessed by it. And heaven resides in God's breast, not the true god, for there is no true god, only many faces and many incarnations of want, of structure, of meaning. And his heart-tent is vast drawing to it those who swear allegiance to beauty and partial truth. Partial," their father said, stroking Maggie's arm, "because truth is independent of religion or creed or upbringing. It is a matter of the heart, separate from fact, without the limitations of doctrine. And what would heaven feel like? More of the same corrupt single-mindedness of a deity who abhors independence, who truly and fiercely fights the accumulation of knowledge in its worshipers. So the weak run to it, the road-weary, the undecided. Because God makes things easy, they do not have to make choices for themselves, they do not have to study the greater mysteries that echo like a clarion call in their souls and resonate in their hearts, seeds planted in the dark soil of their youth that are burned to chaff in the commonplace, never tilled or watered, hopeless due to acquiescence. ~ Lee Thompson
Many Faces quotes by Lee Thompson
The murmuring of many voices, the upturning of many faces, the pressing on of many footsteps in the outskirts of the ~ Charles Dickens
Many Faces quotes by Charles Dickens
There are many faces to war. There is the face of courage, of bravery, of fellowship. There is the face of fear. Above all, there is love of country. ~ Barbara Boxer
Many Faces quotes by Barbara Boxer
The witch is at once female divinity, female ferocity, and female transgression. She is all and she is one. The witch has as many moods and as many faces as the moon. ~ Kristen J. Sollee
Many Faces quotes by Kristen J. Sollee
To those you care for, a nurse is a person of many faces: You are a warrior against death and suffering, a technician of the highest degree; you are a mother, a sister, a best friend, a psychiatrist; you are a teacher, a magician, a sounding board, a secretary, a fortuneteller, a politician, but most of all, you are a loving human being who has chosen to give that love in one of the best ways you can. ~ Echo Heron
Many Faces quotes by Echo Heron
No ... I'll stay," said Eragon shakily, wiping his mouth. He avoided looking at the gruesome sight before them. "Who could have done ... " He could not force out the words.
Brom bowed his head. "Those who love the pain and suffering of others. They wear many faces and go by many disguises, but there is only one name for them : evil. There is no understanding it. All we can do is pity and honor the victims. ~ Christopher Paolini
Many Faces quotes by Christopher Paolini
Art is a form of play rejoicing before the face of God. ~ Hans Rookmaaker
Many Faces quotes by Hans Rookmaaker
And love does not mean to be nice to their faces and judge them behind their backs or point out how we think they are evil and dangerous. It means to love them unconditionally. To accept them how they are and treat them no differently than we'd treat our own children." Eliza wrinkled her nose. "It's not so easy to love people who hate you." "No, I guess not. But we're supposed to do it anyway. ~ Jill Williamson
Many Faces quotes by Jill Williamson
Percy's thoughts: I don't recommend shadow travel if your scared of:
A) The dark
B) Cold shivers up your spine
C) Strange noises
D) Going so fast you feel like your is peeling off
In other words I thought it was awesome ~ Rick Riordan
Many Faces quotes by Rick Riordan
My parents are highly evolved worriers ... If worrying were an Olympic sport, my parents' faces would have graced the Wheaties box a long time ago. ~ Firoozeh Dumas
Many Faces quotes by Firoozeh Dumas
From the exterior face of the wall towers must be projected, from which an approaching enemy may be annoyed by weapons, from the embrasures of those towers, right and left. ~ Vitruvius
Many Faces quotes by Vitruvius
If you trace the history of Islamist terrorism, you see that its founders were great admirers of European fascism. They read the texts of European fascism, they quoted them in speeches and letters. This is not from the Koran - the Koran doesn't teach you how to repress people; there's nothing in there about women having to cover their faces, there's certainly nothing about suicide bombing. ~ Bernard-Henri Levy
Many Faces quotes by Bernard-Henri Levy
Pure, spiritual, intellectual love shot from their faces like barbed lightning. It was so unlike the love we experience that its expression could easily be mistaken for ferocity. ~ C.S. Lewis
Many Faces quotes by C.S. Lewis
Beyond our physical touch, the breasts of these screen actresses incite our imaginations to explore and reshape them. The bodies of these extraordinary women form a kit of spare parts, a set of mental mannequins that resemble Bellmer's obscene dolls. As they tease us, so we begin to dismantle them, removing sections of a smile, a leg stance, an enticing cleavage. The parts are interchangeable, like the operations we imagine performing on these untouchable women, as endlessly variable as the colours silkscreened on to the faces of Warhol's Liz and Marilyn. ~ J.G. Ballard
Many Faces quotes by J.G. Ballard
The airport in Sofia was a tiny place; I'd expected a palace of modern communism, but we descended to a modest area of tarmac and strolled across it with the other travelers. Nearly all of them were Bulgarian,
I decided, trying to catch something of their conversations. They were
handsome people, some of them strikingly so, and their faces varied
from the dark-eyed pale Slav to a Middle-Eastern bronze, a kaleidoscope
of rich hues and shaggy black eyebrows, noses long and flaring, or
aquiline, or deeply hooked, young women with curly black hair and noble
foreheads, and energetic old men with few teeth. They smiled or laughed and talked eagerly with one another; one tall man gesticulated to his companion with a folded newspaper. Their clothes were distinctly not Western, although I would have been hard put to say what it was about the cuts of suits and skirts, the heavy shoes and dark hats, that was unfamiliar to me. ~ Elizabeth Kostova
Many Faces quotes by Elizabeth Kostova
The guys were totally skuzzy, grinning horribly, showing holes where teeth should be.
"Boys, God doesn't like you," Fang intoned behind them.
Whaaat? I thought, dumbfounded.
"Wha!" they said, whirling.
At that moment, Fang snapped out his huge wings and shone the penlight under his chin so it raked his cheekbones and eyes. My mouth dropped open. He looked like the angel of death.
His dark wings filled the hallway almost to the ceiling, and he moved them up and down. "God doesn't like bad people," he said, using a really weird, deep voice.
"What the heck?" one of the squatters murmured shallowly, his mouth slack, his eyes bugging out of his head.
I whipped my own wings open. Fun, anyway.
"This was a test," I said, using my best spooky voice. "And guess what? You both failed."
The bums stopped dead, looks of horror and amazement on their faces.
Then Fang growled, "Rowr!" He stepped forward, sweeping his wings up and down: the avenging demon. I almost cracked up.
"Rowr!" I said myself, shaking my wings out.
"Ahhhhh!" the guys yelled, backpedaling fast. Unfortunately, they were standing at the top of the staircase. They fell awkwardly, trying to grab each other, and rolled down two flights like lumpy bags of potatoes, shrieking the whole way.
Fang and I slapped each other a quick high five - and we were out of there, jack. ~ James Patterson
Many Faces quotes by James Patterson
Aw you'd never hurt me. My face is too pretty. -Adrian Ivashkov ~ Richelle Mead
Many Faces quotes by Richelle Mead
We have dedicated our lives, our blood, to the freedom and liberation of our people, and nothing, no force can stop us from achieving our goal. If it is necessary to destroy the United States of America, then let us destroy it with a smile on our faces. ~ Eldridge Cleaver
Many Faces quotes by Eldridge Cleaver
Why do we love the idea that people might be secretly working together to control and organise the world? Because we don't like to face the fact that our world runs on a combination of chaos, incompetence and confusion. ~ Jonathan Cainer
Many Faces quotes by Jonathan Cainer
To experience conflicts knowingly, though it may be distressing, can be an invaluable asset. The more we face our own conflicts and seek out our own solutions, the more inner freedom and strength we will gain. Only when we are willing to bear the brunt can we approximate the ideal of being the captain of our ship. Spurious tranquillity rooted in inner dullness is anything but enviable. It is bound to make us weak and an easy prey to any kind of influence. ~ Karen Horney
Many Faces quotes by Karen Horney
I'm very comfortable with my sexuality, my body, my face - well, sometimes I'm not comfortable with my face, but it's stuck there and there's nothing I can do about it. ~ Scarlett Johansson
Many Faces quotes by Scarlett Johansson
He [the golfer] must have the courage to keep trying in the face of ill luck or disappointment, and timidity to appreciate and appraise the dangers of each stroke, and to curb the desire to take chances beyond reasonable hope of success. ~ Bobby Jones
Many Faces quotes by Bobby Jones
We must face the fact that the United States is neither omnipotent nor omniscient, that we cannot impose our will upon the other 94 percent of mankind, that we cannot right every wrong or reverse every adversity, and that therefore there cannot be an American solution to every world problem. ~ John F. Kennedy
Many Faces quotes by John F. Kennedy
The Earl and Countess of Langford!"

That announcement caused an immediate reaction among the inhabitants of the ballroom, who began looking at one another in surprise and then turned to the balcony, but it was nothing compared to the reaction among the small group of seven people who'd been keeping a vigil of hope. A jolt went through the entire group; hands reached out blindly and were clasped tightly by other hands; faces lifted to the balcony, while joyous smiles dawned brightly and eyes misted with tears.

Attired in formal black evening clothes with white waistcoat and frilled white shirt, Stephen Westmoreland, Earl of Langford, was walking across the balcony. On his arm was a medieval princess clad in a pearl-encrusted ivory satin gown with a low, square bodice that tapered to a deep V at the waist. A gold chain with clusters of diamonds and pearls in each link rode low on her hips, sawying with each step, and her hair tumbled in flaming waves and heavy curls over her shoulders and back. ~ Judith McNaught
Many Faces quotes by Judith McNaught
When you're feeling terrific, notify your face. ~ H. Jackson Brown, Jr.
Many Faces quotes by H. Jackson Brown, Jr.
It's always great to be involved in something that's not in an in-your-face fashion, but has a message that goes out guised as entertainment. ~ Scott Bakula
Many Faces quotes by Scott Bakula
We gotta show up tomorrow ready to eat somebody's face. ~ Jayson Werth
Many Faces quotes by Jayson Werth
Don't judge a man's conscience by looking at his face cause he may have a bad heart. ~ William Shakespeare
Many Faces quotes by William Shakespeare
Faith Poem

I don't know how to do anytthing
I am trying to move mountains with words
But I am an ant
I scribble
I drool
I move like a worm
whose world
(words)
encompassed a mile
How do I rise above?
Where will this worm
find wings?
I look in the mirror
and I see filth
Who is that?
Where did The Angel go?
Why is there dirt
staring back at me?
Why is the soil of
incompetence beneath my nails
Why does doubt paint
blue rings
beneath my eyes and
stain my skin
Why does my spine assume failure
Why do my lips
flirt with they sky;
why do I try to lasso
Beauty with such a
pitiful rope?
Where is the hair of Rapunzel
or Samson?
Where is my sling
Where is my stone,
My gun?
Where is the weapon with which
I may fight this apathy
that feels like sleep
in my limbs
that loosens my brother's smile
That kills my neighbor's daughter
This pen is scrawny and hardly
seems able to ink out
or erase this plague that
infests my
Generation
This Giant, This Ogre
This Beast, This Death
that assumes a million faces,
that borrows my own. ~ Jewel
Many Faces quotes by Jewel
I wanna smash the faces of those beautiful boys, those Christian boys. ~ Tori Amos
Many Faces quotes by Tori Amos
It doesn't matter what you all think, what you all say about me, because when I go home at night, the same people that I look in the face, my family that I love, that's all that really matters to me. ~ Marshawn Lynch
Many Faces quotes by Marshawn Lynch
It is hope
with regard to our careers, our love lives, our children, our politicians, and our planet
that is primarily to blame for angering and embittering us. The incompatibility between the grandeur of our aspirations and the mean reality of our condition generates the violent disappointments which rack our days and etch themselves in lines of acrimony across our faces. ~ Alain De Botton
Many Faces quotes by Alain De Botton
Our eyes and brains pretty consistently like some human forms better than others. Shown photos of strangers, even babies look longer at the faces adults rank the best-looking. ~ Virginia Postrel
Many Faces quotes by Virginia Postrel
As Nietzsche says about Christians, you can tell from their faces that they don't enjoy doing what they do. Fiction writers cluster in the unlit corners of the room, silently observing everybody, including the poets, who are usually having a fine time in the center spotlight, making a spectacle of themselves as they eat the popcorn and drink the beer and gossip about other poets. ~ Charles Baxter
Many Faces quotes by Charles Baxter
The assembly of warriors stands, faces now smeared with blood, and together we recite the names of our chief enemies. "Karnus au Bellona, Aja au Grimmus, Imperator Tiberius au Bellona, Scipia au Falthe, Octavia au Lune, Agrippina au Julii, and Cassius au Bellona. These are wanted lives." In ~ Pierce Brown
Many Faces quotes by Pierce Brown
I love you, i love your smile your snarl your grin, your face when your sleeping.I love your hair streaming behind you as we fly, with the sunlight making it shine, if it doesn't have too much mud or blood in it, I love seeing your wings spreading out, white and brown and tan and speckled, and the tiny downy feathers right at the top of your shoulders. I love your eyes, whether they're cold or calculating or suspicious or laughing or warm, like when you look at me. ~ James Patterson
Many Faces quotes by James Patterson
Most people draw from the mind, not the eye. They draw the idea of a table or a face, not what's in front of them. We don't actually see the line of the jaw as a line and we don't see an eye as a perfectly outlined almond shape. ~ Caio Fonseca
Many Faces quotes by Caio Fonseca
The only thing I can see in Jasper Dale's face is helpless and utter confusion. ~ Hetty King
Many Faces quotes by Hetty King
Some people make stuff; other people have to buy it. And when we gave up making stuff, starting in the 1980s, we were left with the unique role of buying ... we shopped till we dropped, all right, face down on the floor. ~ Barbara Ehrenreich
