Life is an opportunity; it is a chance that is given to a man only once. ~ Sunday Adelaja
Man S Life quotes by Sunday Adelaja
One of the few times in a man's life when he is not full of shit!!
The morning of a colonoscopy. Enough said! ~ Jim Lawrence
Man S Life quotes by Jim Lawrence
Few black men can look at the data about black male lives and not see clearly the dangers they face and the extent to which those dangers are in place because of their blind allegiance to dominator culture. Black male-on-black male homicide would not exist if it were not encouraged and reinforced by notions of patriarchal manhood and white supremacy. For if it was just about manhood shootouts, black males would be killing white men at the same rates that they kill one another. They buy into the racist/sexist assumption that the black male is valueless and therefore when you take a black man 's life you are just taking nothing from nothing, ~ Bell Hooks
Man S Life quotes by Bell Hooks
A man can't be always defending the truth; there must be a time to feed on it. ~ C.S. Lewis
Man S Life quotes by C.S. Lewis
Eight Bells: Robert J. Kane '55D died June 3, 2017, in Palm Harbor, Florida. He came to MMA by way of Boston College. Bob or "Killer," as he was affectionately known, was an independent and eccentric soul, enjoying the freedom of life. After a career at sea as an Officer in the U.S. Navy and in the Merchant Marine he retired to an adventurous single life living with his two dogs in a mobile home, which had originally been a "Yellow School Bus." He loved watching the races at Daytona, Florida, telling stories about his interesting deeds about flying groceries to exotic Caribbean Islands, and misdeeds with mysterious ladies he had known. For years he spent his summers touring Canada and his winters appreciating the more temperate weather at Fort De Soto in St. Petersburg, Florida…. Enjoying life in the shadow of the Sunshine Bridge, Bob had an artistic flare, a positive attitude and a quick sense of humor. Not having a family, few people were aware that he became crippled by a hip replacement operation gone bad at the Bay Pines VA Hospital. His condition became so bad that he could hardly get around, but he remained in good spirits until he suffered a totally debilitating stroke. For the past 6 years Bob spent his time at various Florida Assisted Living Facilities, Nursing Homes and Palliative Care Hospitals. His end came when he finally wound up as a terminal patient at the Hospice Facility in Palm Harbor, Florida. Bob was 86 years old when he passed. He will be missed…. ~ Hank Bracker
Man S Life quotes by Hank Bracker
You have been my friend. That in itself is a tremendous thing. I wove my webs for you because I liked you. After all, what's a life, anyway? We're born, we live a little while, we die. A spider's life can't help being something of a mess, with all this trapping and eating flies. By helping you, perhaps I was trying to lift up my life a trifle. Heaven knows anyone's life can stand a little of that. ~ E.B. White
Man S Life quotes by E.B. White
Religion, as distinguished from modern paganism, implies a life in conformity with nature. It may be observed that the natural life and the supernatural life have a conformity to each other which neither has with the mechanistic life ... A wrong attitude towards nature implies, somewhere, a wrong attitude towards God ... [We should] struggle to recover the sense of relation to nature and to God. ~ T. S. Eliot
Man S Life quotes by T. S. Eliot
I love to read.
That doesn't mean a life.
It doesn't mean I'm a nerd.
I only love that feeling...
even when you're back in reality,
you still feel like you're in a different world. ~ Tumblr Quotes ME S.A
Man S Life quotes by Tumblr Quotes ME S.A
If a thing is free to be good it is also free to be bad. And free will is what has made evil possible. Why, then, did God give them free will? Because free will, though it makes evil possible, is also the only thing that makes possible any love or goodness or joy worth having. A world of automata
of creatures that worked like machines
would hardly be worth creating. The happiness which God designs for His higher creatures is the happiness of being freely, voluntarily united to Him and to each other in an ecstasy of love and delight compared with which the most rapturous love between a man and a woman on this earth is mere milk and water. And for that they must be free. ~ C.S. Lewis
Man S Life quotes by C.S. Lewis
The object of facing up squarely to the fact of the climacteric is to acquire serenity and power. If women on the youthful side of the climacteric could glimpse what this state of peaceful potency might be, the difficulties of making the transition would be less. It is the nature of the case that life beyond the menopause is as invisible to the woman who has yet to struggle through the change as to the top of any mountain is invisible from the valley below. Calm and poise do not simply happen to the post menopausal woman, she has to fight for them. ~ Germain Greer
Man S Life quotes by Germain Greer
. . . you should always kick a man when he's down. It's much easier then. ~ S.M. Stirling
Man S Life quotes by S.M. Stirling
One of the best books I've read was George S. Clason's The Richest Man in Babylon, which offers financial advice in a collection of parables. ~ Sophia Amoruso
Man S Life quotes by Sophia Amoruso
We grow up hearing so often that a straight line is the shortest distance between two points that we end up thinking it is also the best way to get there. A river knows better-:it has to do with how it dissipates the energy of its flow most efficiently; and how, in its bends, the sediment deposited soon turns into marshes and swampy islands, harboring all manner of interesting life, imparting charm and character to the whole waterway. I would defy you to find a river on this planet that prefers to run straight, unless it has been taught so by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. ~ Thomas W. Horton
Man S Life quotes by Thomas W. Horton
There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old's life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.
[Kung Fu Monkey
Ephemera, blog post, March 19, 2009] ~ John Rogers
Man S Life quotes by John Rogers
A joke is a very serious thing. ~ Winston S. Churchill
Man S Life quotes by Winston S. Churchill
There comes a moment when the image of our life parts company with the life itself, stands free, and, little by little, begins to rule us. Already in The Joke: "I came to realize that there was no power capable of changing the image of my person lodged somewhere in the supreme court of human destinies; that this image (even though it bore no resemblance to me) was much more real than my actual self; that I was its shadow and not it mine; that I had no right to accuse it of bearing no resemblance to me, but rather that it was I who was guilty of the nonresemblance; and that the nonresemblance was my cross, which I could not unload on anyone else, which was mine alone to bear."

And in The Book of Laughter and Forgetting: "Destiny has no intention of lifting a finger for Mirek (for his happiness, his security, his good spirits, his health), whereas Mirek is ready to do everything for his destiny (for its grandeur, its clarity, its beauty, its style, its intelligible meaning). He felt responsible for his destiny, but his destiny did not feel responsible for him. ~ Milan Kundera
Man S Life quotes by Milan Kundera
A man can see a hundred women, lust for a thousand more, but it is one scent that will open his eyes and turn him to love. ~ C.S. Richardson
Man S Life quotes by C.S. Richardson
You entered like a spark and lightened my candle called life. You will continue to burn until I melt don't completely. ~ Vignesh S.V
Man S Life quotes by Vignesh S.V
A hundred years ago, this City[...]'s energy production, its food and fuel, came from all over the world, often traveling thousands of miles. People used energy just to ship more energy to the places that needed it. When you're high on fossil fuel fumes, I guess almost anything can make sense. ~ Annalee Newitz
Man S Life quotes by Annalee Newitz
That life was full of rules. Too many rules; it was a prepacked kind of life. ~ V.S. Naipaul
Man S Life quotes by V.S. Naipaul
Single parents, I testify that as you do your very best in the most difficult of human challenges, heaven will smile upon you. Truly you are not alone. Let the redemptive, loving power of Jesus Christ brighten your life now and fill you with the hope of eternal promise. Take courage. Have faith and hope. Consider the present with fortitude and look to the future with confidence. ~ David S. Baxter
Man S Life quotes by David S. Baxter
Life just seems too huge and too fascinating for me to begin thinking about curing my restlessness at this stage of the game. Maybe later. ~ Hunter S. Thompson
Man S Life quotes by Hunter S. Thompson
Live Life as if You Can SEE God Watching You- ~ Shamaira S. McMillon
Man S Life quotes by Shamaira S. McMillon
Settling for less is just like putting diamonds on the clearance rack. Know your worth because just what you accept in your life will be exactly what you get.

~S. Turner~ ~ Shatika Turner
Man S Life quotes by Shatika Turner
Of course, we often think we have to get sick literally in order to get the rest or pleasure we need in our lives. Bobbie and I therefore taught our children when they were younger that if they needed a day off from school, they should just say that and take a health day, not a sick day. That made them look at life differently. I think all of us need to rethink our attitudes toward health and sickness. ~ Bernie S. Siegel
Man S Life quotes by Bernie S. Siegel
Seeing all life
in perfect symmetry.
Perceiving each day
with righteous clarity.
Living each moment
in purposed reality.
Believing each day
is the start of eternity. ~ S. Tarr
Man S Life quotes by S. Tarr
A man has to BE something; he has to matter. ~ Hunter S. Thompson
Man S Life quotes by Hunter S. Thompson
Mistakes Are Life's Lectures You Didn't Plan To Attend But Situations Or People Made You Attend Them ... Pay Attention And Learn From Them ~ Jaachynma N.E. Agu
Man S Life quotes by Jaachynma N.E. Agu
Because a king maker would always choose the weaker man. The weaker the man, the easier he is to control.' Damen ~ C.S. Pacat
Man S Life quotes by C.S. Pacat
May you one day find the place where your dreams and reality collide. ~ R.S. Novelle
Man S Life quotes by R.S. Novelle
Swag is my ethic, s/o to my bitches ~ Joe Prophet
Man S Life quotes by Joe Prophet
When a man is getting better he understands more and more clearly the evil that is still left in him. When a man is getting worse he understands his own badness less and less. ~ C.S. Lewis
Man S Life quotes by C.S. Lewis
You got three choices in life: be good, get good or give up. ~ U.S. House Of Representatives
Man S Life quotes by U.S. House Of Representatives
The very man who has argued you down, will sometimes be found, years later, to have been influenced by what you said ~ C.S. Lewis
Man S Life quotes by C.S. Lewis
Splendid . . . a novel for anyone who has a sharp eye and ear for life. ~ NPR S All Things Considered
Man S Life quotes by NPR S All Things Considered
I know exactly how you feel," Schmendrick said eagerly. The unicorn looked at him out of dark, endless eyes, and he smiled nervously and looked at his hands. "It's a rare man who is taken for what he truly is," he said. "There is much misjudgment in the world. Now I knew you for a unicorn when I first saw you, and I know that I am your friend. Yet you take me for a clown, or a clod, or a betrayer, and so must I be if you see me so. The magic on you is only magic and will vanish as soon as you are free, but the enchantment of error that you put on me I must wear forever in your eyes. We are not always what we seem, and hardly ever what we dream. Still I have read, or heard it sung, that unicorns when time was young, could tell the difference 'twixt the two - the false shining and the true, the lips' laugh and the heart's rue. ~ Peter S. Beagle
Man S Life quotes by Peter S. Beagle
They'll try to make you forget who you are or try to make you ashamed. But you mustn't forget and you mustn't be ashamed. ~ Stephanie Dray
Man S Life quotes by Stephanie Dray
We find a model for learning how to live in stories about heroism. The heroic quest is about saying yes to yourself and, in so doing, becoming more fully alive and more effective in the world. For the hero's journey is first about taking a journey to find the treasure of your true self, and then about returning home to give your gift to help transform the kingdom- and, in the process, your own life. The quest itself is replete with dangers and pitfalls, but if offers great rewards: the capacity to be successful in the world, knowledge of the mysteries of the human soul, the opportunity to find and express your unique gifts in the world, and to live in loving community with other people. ~ Carol S. Pearson
Man S Life quotes by Carol S. Pearson
We must learn to live with danger, " he now said to Kino.
"Do you mean the ocean and the volcano cannot hurt us if we are not afraid?" Kino asked.
"No," his father replied. "I did not say that. Ocean is there and volcano is there. It is true that on any day ocean may rise into storm and volcano may burst into flame. We must accept this fact, but without fear. We must say, 'Someday I shall die, and does it matter whether it is by ocean or volcano, or whether I grow old and weak?' "
"I don't want to think about such things," Kino said.
"it is right for you not to think about them," his father said. "Then do not be afraid. When you are afraid, you are thinking about them all the time. Enjoy life and don not fear death - that is the way of a good Japanese. ~ Pearl S. Buck
Man S Life quotes by Pearl S. Buck
If God is Love, He is, by definition, something more than mere kindness. And it appears, from all the records, that though He has often rebuked us and condemned us, He has never regarded us with contempt. He has paid us the intolerable compliment of loving us, in the deepest, most tragic, most inexorable sense. ~ C.S. Lewis
Man S Life quotes by C.S. Lewis
Life when it ends is still alive, memories are the celebration of what it meant. Grieving is that part, our soul, that can't easily say goodbye ~ S.L. Northey
Man S Life quotes by S.L. Northey
I teach in my life-coaching programs, when you bear a grudge against someone, it is almost as if you carry that person around on your back with you. He drains you of your energy, enthusiasm and peace of mind. But the moment you forgive him, you get him off your back and you can move on with the rest of your life. ~ Robin S. Sharma
Man S Life quotes by Robin S. Sharma
For your life to be great, your faith must be bigger than your fear. ~ Robin S. Sharma
Man S Life quotes by Robin S. Sharma
Approach the world with sympathy and compassion, just don't take any of it very seriously. ~ Kate Baggott
Man S Life quotes by Kate Baggott
During [Erté]'s childhood St. Petersburg was an elegant centre of theatrical and artistic life. At the same time, under its cultivated sophistication, ominous rumbles could be distinguished. The reign of the tough Alexander III ended in 1894 and his more gentle successor Nicholas was to be the last of the Tsars … St. Petersburg was a very French city. The Franco-Russian Pact of 1892 consolidated military and cultural ties, and later brought Russia into the First World war. Two activities that deeply influenced [Erté], fashion and art, were particularly dominated by France. The brilliant couturier Paul Poiret, for whom Erté was later to work in Paris, visited the city to display his creations. Modern art from abroad, principally French, was beginning to be show in Russia in the early years of the century …

In St. Petersburg there were three Imperial theatres―the Maryinsky, devoted to opera and ballet, the Alexandrinsky, with its lovely classical façade, performing Russian and foreign classical drama, and the Michaelovsky with a French repertoire and company …

It is not surprising that an artistic youth in St. Petersburg in the first decade of this century should have seen his future in the theatre. The theatre, especially opera and ballet, attracted the leading young painters of the day, including Mikhail Vrubel, possibly the greatest Russian painter of the pre-modernistic period. The father of modern theatrical design in Russia was Alexandre Benois, an o ~ Charles Spencer
Man S Life quotes by Charles Spencer
I don't have two lives. This is one life, and the personal pictures and the assignment work are all part of it. ~ Annie Leibovitz
Man S Life quotes by Annie Leibovitz
•Zuzu Bailey: Look, Daddy. Teacher says, every time a bell rings an angel gets his wings.
•George Bailey: That's right, that's right.
•George Bailey: Attaboy, Clarence. ~ It's A Wonderful Life
Man S Life quotes by It's A Wonderful Life
We take life so seriously. But at the end, the billionaire gets buried next to the street sweeper. ~ Robin S. Sharma
Man S Life quotes by Robin S. Sharma
Yesterday you told me that life is a growth school, Father Mike. Every person and every experience comes to us to teach us the lesson we most need to learn at that particular point of our journey. We can either awaken to this act of nature, or we can turn a blind eye to it and, in doing so, keep repeating the mistakes of the past until the pain becomes so great that we have no choice but to change. ~ Robin S. Sharma
