The biggest public health challenge is rebuilding health systems. In other words, if you look at cholera or maternal mortality or tuberculosis in Haiti, they're major problems in Haiti, but the biggest problem is rebuilding systems. ~ Paul Farmer
Major Problems quotes by Paul Farmer
My personal convictions drive me to join those like-minded, in the recruitment of a growing army without guns, no hatred or prejudice, but with a leadership voice of influence and harnessing resources to create the change they desire. The major problems facing the world, particularly our beloved African continent, will not be won by sanctions, cruelty, ethnic cleansing, revenge, guns or bullets. The challenges are not largely externally motivated, so the platform to change them must shift. Shift from selfish to selfless, from external to internal, from behaviours to beliefs. Some of them are externally sponsored but self-inflicted, whilst most of them are due to greed, short-sightedness, abuse and selfishness. ~ Archibald Marwizi
Major Problems quotes by Archibald Marwizi
I have great hope and faith, but it's a humanistic faith based in facts; you have to believe that facts exist. We can all arrive at the same facts if we engage in the process of experimentation, observation, and verification, which can solve more of the world's major problems than a debate over whether God does or doesn't exist. ~ Greg Graffin
Major Problems quotes by Greg Graffin
Often men believe women are the same, and once they figure what works for one woman they apply that same method to all the other women they are intimate with, and that's one of the major problems. ~ Gail Saltz
Major Problems quotes by Gail Saltz
One of the major problems with long-term deep space human flight is the requirement for radiation shielding. ~ Buzz Aldrin
Major Problems quotes by Buzz Aldrin
People who are diagnosed as having "generalized anxiety disorder" are afflicted by three major problems that many of us experience to a lesser extent from time to time. First and foremost, says Rapgay, the natural human inclination to focus on threats and bad news is strongly amplified in them, so that even significant positive events get suppressed. An inflexible mentality and tendency toward excessive verbalizing make therapeutic intervention a further challenge. ~ Winifred Gallagher
Major Problems quotes by Winifred Gallagher
We already know enough to begin to cope with all the major problems that are now threatening human life and much of the rest of life on earth. Our crisis is not a crisis of information; it is a crisis of decision of policy and action. ~ George Wald
Major Problems quotes by George Wald
I'll say this for the man: He never had any problems thinking big. Thinking rationally and responsibly, yes, major problems there ... ~ Simon R. Green
Major Problems quotes by Simon R. Green
The major problems facing the development of products that are safer, less prone to error, and easier to use and understand are not technological: they are social and organizational. ~ Donald A. Norman
Major Problems quotes by Donald A. Norman
These three rules of analytical reading - about terms, propositions, and arguments - can be brought to a head in an eighth rule, which governs the last step in the interpretation of a book's content. More than that, it ties together the first stage of analytical reading (outlining the structure) and the second stage (interpreting the contents). The last step in your attempt to discover what a book is about was the discovery of the major problems that the author tried to solve in the course of his book. (As ~ Mortimer J. Adler
Major Problems quotes by Mortimer J. Adler
It is a mistake to think you can solve any major problems just with potatoes. ~ Douglas Adams
Major Problems quotes by Douglas Adams
I regularly tell our seminary students that if I happen to visit the church in which one of them serves, I will not ask first, "Is this man a good preacher?" Rather, first of all I will ask the secretaries, office staff, janitors, and cleaners what it is like to work for this pastor. I will ask, "What kind of man is he? Is he a servant? Is he demanding and harsh, or his he patient, kind, and forbearing as a man in authority?" One of our graduates may preach great sermons, but if he is a pain to work for, then you know he will cause major problems in any congregation. Leaders in the church are required by Scripture to set an example in the areas of love, kindness, gentleness, patience, and forbearance before they are appointed to preach, teach, and rule. If we obediently require these attitudes and character traits of our leaders, what will our "new community" look like ~ Jerram Barrs
Major Problems quotes by Jerram Barrs
The lack of ability of those in charge to get a grip on a situation, and to take immediate, decisive action rather than simply debate everything endlessly, is one of the major problems in the State education system. ~ Frank Chalk
Major Problems quotes by Frank Chalk
The idea that the United States of American might shut down its government over abortion and funding to an organization that is 0.01% of the U.S. budget seems completely insane. Anyone looking at this debate around the world is thinking 'What is this country doing? They have three wars going on, they're trying to manage major problems and they're thinking of shutting down their government over abortion?' ~ Katty Kay
Major Problems quotes by Katty Kay
I have one major problem with the Internet: It's full of liars. ~ John Lydon
Major Problems quotes by John Lydon
What he found impossible was to shut off his brain, to detach himself from the intriguing problems with which (he) was involved, or to leave alone the major problems of war and peace, race and poverty, man's inhumanity to man and the persistence of stupidity. ~ Zelda Popkin
Major Problems quotes by Zelda Popkin
The major problems in the world are the result of the difference between how nature works and the way people think ~ Gregory Bateson
Major Problems quotes by Gregory Bateson
The major problem of life is learning how to handle the costly interruptions. The door that slams shut, the plan that got sidetracked, the marriage that failed. Or that lovely poem that didn't get written because someone knocked on the door. ~ Martin Luther King, Jr.
Major Problems quotes by Martin Luther King, Jr.
By properly deploying both incentives and nudges, we can improve our ability to improve people's lives, and help solve many of society's major problems. And we can do so while still insisting on everyone's freedom to choose. ~ Richard H. Thaler
Major Problems quotes by Richard H. Thaler
There are solutions to the major problems of our time; some of them even simple. But they require a radical shift in our perceptions, our thinking, our values. And, indeed, we are now at the beginning of such a fundamental change of worldview in science and society, a change of paradigms as radical as the Copernican revolution. Unfortunately, this realization has not yet dawned on most of our political leaders, who are unable to "connect the dots," to use a popular phrase. ~ Fritjof Capra
Major Problems quotes by Fritjof Capra
When I ask entrepreneurs their major problems, many just quickly say; LACK OF FINANCIAL CAPITAL. Yes, this is a problem for some but not a problem for many who think it is a problem.

What most ENTREPRENEURS need are business MENTORS, COACHES AND COUNSELORS. ~ Marilyn Oma Anona
Major Problems quotes by Marilyn Oma Anona
Science remains the author of our major problem, in its gift of tremendous power that has been terribly abused; but for the wise use of this power we need more, not less, of the objective dispassionate scientific spirit. For our philosophical purposes we need more of its integrity and its basic humility, its respect at once for the fact and the mystery. ~ Herbert J. Muller
Major Problems quotes by Herbert J. Muller
I can identify one of my major problems in life as follow-through, or lack of follow-through. ~ Halle Butler
Major Problems quotes by Halle Butler
This was a golden age, in which we solved most of the major problems in black hole theory even before there was any observational evidence for black holes. In fact, we were so successful with the classical general theory of relativity that I was at a bit of a loose end in 1973 after the publication with George Ellis of our book The Large Scale Structure of Space–Time. My work with Penrose had shown that general relativity broke down at singularities, so the obvious next step would be to combine general relativity - the theory of the very large - with quantum theory - the theory of the very small. In particular, I wondered, can one have atoms in which the nucleus is a tiny primordial black hole, formed in the early universe? My investigations revealed a deep and previously unsuspected relationship between gravity and thermodynamics, the science of heat, and resolved a paradox that had been argued over for thirty years without much progress: how could the radiation left over from a shrinking black hole carry all of the information about what made the black hole? I discovered that information is not lost, but it is not returned in a useful way - like burning an encyclopedia but retaining the smoke and ashes.
To answer this, I studied how quantum fields or particles would scatter off a black hole. I was expecting that part of an incident wave would be absorbed, and the remainder scattered. But to my great surprise I found there seemed to be emission from the black hole itsel ~ Stephen Hawking
Major Problems quotes by Stephen Hawking
You don't know. You've never been married and divorced. Everything is insurmountable when you're married. The fact that you want to talk at the breakfast table and he insists on reading his paper is insurmountable. Leaving the seat up on the toilet is insurmountable. Getting peanut butter in the jelly jar is insurmountable. People don't change just because they're married. All those little habits and personality quirks that you previously thought were trivial become the bane of your existence. And the major problems, like different outlooks on life, are crushing. ~ Janet Evanovich
Major Problems quotes by Janet Evanovich
The major problem for America is we're losing two wars. We're losing in Afghanistan, we're losing in Iraq. And there seems very little likelihood that we're going to increase the number of troops we have in either place to the point that we can prevail. ~ Michael Scheuer
Major Problems quotes by Michael Scheuer
Think of it as the Doorway of No Return. The feeling must be that your lead character, once she passes through, cannot go home again until the major problem of the plot is solved. ~ James Scott Bell
Major Problems quotes by James Scott Bell
If I am to believe everything that I see in the media, happiness is to be six foot tall or more and to have bleached teeth and a firm abdomen, all the latest clothes, accessories, and electronics, a picture-perfect partner of the opposite sex who is both a great lover and a terrific friend, an assortment of healthy and happy children, a pet that is neither a stray nor a mongrel, a large house in the right sort of postcode, a second property in an idyllic holiday location, a top-of-the-range car to shuttle back and forth from the one to the other, a clique of 'friends' with whom to have fabulous dinner parties, three or four foreign holidays a year, and a high-impact job that does not distract from any of the above. There are at least three major problems that I can see with this ideal of happiness. (1) It represents a state of affairs that is impossible to attain to and that is in itself an important source of unhappiness. (2) It is situated in an idealised and hypothetical future rather than in an imperfect but actual present in which true happiness is much more likely to be found, albeit with great difficulty. (3) It has largely been defined by commercial interests that have absolutely nothing to do with true happiness, which has far more to do with the practice of reason and the peace of mind that this eventually brings. In short, it is not only that the bar for happiness is set too high, but also that it is set in the wrong place, and that it is, in fact, the wrong bar. J ~ Neel Burton
Major Problems quotes by Neel Burton
I don't think it's ok to judge others and put people down. However, it should be ok to be concerned about the health of someone which could leader to major problems in their future. ~ Scott Herman
Major Problems quotes by Scott Herman
Universal or quantum consciousness emphasizes that we are all interrelated, interconnected and interdependent. ~ Gian Kumar
Major Problems quotes by Gian Kumar
At the very best there are two major problems with ideology. The first is that it does not represent or conform to or even address reality. It is a straight-edge ruler in a fractal universe. And the second is that it inspires in its believers the notion that the fault here lies with miscreant fact, which should therefore be conformed to the requirements of theory by all means necessary. ~ Marilynne Robinson
Major Problems quotes by Marilynne Robinson
The U.S. healthcare system is probably the most interesting large group of companies that are heading for major problems that we've seen in a long, long time. ~ James Chanos
Major Problems quotes by James Chanos
If you buy a man who is half dead, everybody may be happy off the field, but on the field you'll have major problems ~ Arsene Wenger
Major Problems quotes by Arsene Wenger
I can no longer hear my voices, so I am a little lost. My suspicion is they would know far better how to tell this story. At least they would have opinions and suggestions and definite ideas as to what should go first and what should go last and what should go in the middle. They would inform me when to add detail, when to omit extraneous information, what was important and what was trivial. After so much time slipping past, I am not particularly good at remembering these things myself and could certainly use their help. A great many events took place, and it is hard for me to know precisely where to put what. And sometimes I'm unsure that incidents I clearly remember actually did happen. A memory that seems one instant to be as solid as stone, the next seems as vaporous as a mist above the river. That's one of the major problems with being crazy: you're just naturally uncertain about things. (9) ~ John Katzenbach
Major Problems quotes by John Katzenbach
One major problem with any science is that people who don't know the conceptual history of their field go round re-inventing the elliptical wheel. ~ Walter M. Fitch
Major Problems quotes by Walter M. Fitch
The major problem - one of the major problems, for there are several - one of the many major problems with governing people is that of whom you get to do it; or rather of who manages to get people to let them do it to them.
To summarize: it is a well-known fact that those people who must want to rule people are, ipso facto, those least suited to do it.
To summarize the summary: anyone who is capable of getting themselves made President should on no account be allowed to do the job. ~ Douglas Adams
Major Problems quotes by Douglas Adams
While your character flaws may have created mild problems for other people, they will create major problems for your spouse and your marriage. ~ Timothy Keller
Major Problems quotes by Timothy Keller
The more we focus on the major problems of our time, the more we come to realize that they cannot be understood in isolation. They are problems that are interconnected and interdependent and must be addressed as such. For example, stabilizing the world population will only be possible when poverty is reduced worldwide. As long as there are people starving and struggling to feed their families, laws will continue to be broken and people will continue to fight each other for resources. ~ Joseph P. Kauffman
Major Problems quotes by Joseph P. Kauffman
It seems to me that a Christian like myself is presented with major problems, but they're nothing like the problems of the atheist. ~ John Lennox
Major Problems quotes by John Lennox
All chronic and degenerative diseases are caused by two and only two major problems, toxicity and deficiency. ~ Charlotte Gerson
Major Problems quotes by Charlotte Gerson
I teach something called The Law of Probabilities, which says the more things you try, the more likely one of them will work. The more books you read, the more likely one of them will have an answer to a question that could solve the major problems of your life.. make you wealthier, solve a health problem, whatever it might be. ~ Jack Canfield
Major Problems quotes by Jack Canfield
My major problem with the world is a problem of scarcity in the midst of plenty ... of people starving while there are unused resources ... people having skills which are not being used. ~ Milton Friedman
Major Problems quotes by Milton Friedman
One of the major problems with China is that its innovation is largely borrowed technology. ~ Alan Greenspan
Major Problems quotes by Alan Greenspan
It's true that America can't solve every problem, but I don't know of any major problem in the world that can be solved without us. ~ Hillary Clinton
Major Problems quotes by Hillary Clinton
Never ever depend on governments or institutions to solve any major problems. All social change comes from the passion of individuals. ~ Margaret Mead
Major Problems quotes by Margaret Mead
There is a major problem of unsustainability of our environment, and we're seeing it in our natural resources, peak oil is probably upon us, and it can't be sustained. We're on an unsustainable path, and at this point in history we are responsible for that. We're going to have to change our ways. We're going to have to think through this problem. ~ Edgar Mitchell
Major Problems quotes by Edgar Mitchell
All our anxieties relate to time ... The major problems of psychiatry revolve around an analysis of the despair, pessimism, melancholy, and complexes that are the inheritances of what has been or with the fears, anxieties, worries, that are the imaginings of what will be. ~ Fulton J. Sheen
Major Problems quotes by Fulton J. Sheen
The highly respected macroeconomist Jeffrey Sachs has recently made an impassioned and well-argued case in his book The Price of Civilization that mindfulness needs to be at the heart of any attempt to resolve the major problems we face as a country and, by implication, as a world. ~ Jon Kabat-Zinn
Major Problems quotes by Jon Kabat-Zinn
This is one of the major problems we have. By the way, it was endorsed by leadership on both sides of the aisle and both ends of the Capitol, by the NRA and also by the gun control groups. ~ John Dingell
Major Problems quotes by John Dingell
Of the many major problems with governing people is that of whom you get to do it; or rather of who manages to get people to let them do it to them. To ~ Douglas Adams
Major Problems quotes by Douglas Adams
I'm going bald. I'm having a major problem with it. ~ Gedde Watanabe
Major Problems quotes by Gedde Watanabe
Adults appreciate the flavor of wine, its nuances and such. And we have major problems and stress. ~ Kaui Hart Hemmings
Major Problems quotes by Kaui Hart Hemmings
One of the major problems is what we do to the soil, the air, the water and everything, we take in our food. ~ Charlotte Gerson
Major Problems quotes by Charlotte Gerson
From the earliest days of Unitarianism and Universalism, these traditions have advocated for the compatibility of science and religion. Both traditions encourage the use of reason, the search for truth, and the improvement of human nature and society through learning and the discoveries of science. Some, especially those called humanists, eschew Biblical revelation and supernaturalism and believe that science and technology will eventually solve all the major problems facing humankind. ~ Mark W. Harris
Major Problems quotes by Mark W. Harris
The clever use of media (i.e., TV political ads, image creations and management) kept us from raising or even addressing major problems we face as a nation - our identity, our values, our role as a resource for peace rather than war, for justice rather than its miscarriages, for people rather than corporations, for decency rather than humiliation, and for democracy rather than "hypocracy." Martin Luther King, Jr., stated it well: A true revolution of values will soon look uneasily on the glaring contrast of poverty and wealth. With righteous indignation, it will look across the seas and see individual capitalists of the West investing huge sums of money in Asia, Africa and South America, only to take the profits out with no concern for the social betterment of the countries, and say: "This is not just. . . . ~ Anthony J. Marsella
Major Problems quotes by Anthony J. Marsella
By now, I hope you recognize this as one more example of the reductionist paradigm at work, even when it's couched in natural and alternative terms. As we saw in chapter ten, one of the major problems with modern medicine is its reliance on isolated, unnatural chemical pharmaceuticals as the primary tool in the war against disease. But the medical profession isn't the only player in the health-care system that has embraced this element of reductionism. The natural health community has also fallen prey to the ideology that chemicals ripped from their natural context are as good as or better than whole foods. Instead of synthesizing the presumed "active ingredients" from medicinal herbs, as done for prescription drugs, supplement manufacturers seek to extract and bottle the active ingredients from foods known or believed to promote good health and healing. And just like prescription drugs, the active agents function imperfectly, incompletely, and unpredictably when divorced from the whole plant food from which they're derived or synthesized. ~ T. Colin Campbell
Major Problems quotes by T. Colin Campbell
Can nine billion people be fed? Can we cope with the demands in the future on water? Can we provide enough energy? Can we do it, all that, while mitigating and adapting to climate change? And can we do all that in 21 years time? That's when these things are going to start hitting in a really big way. We need to act now. We need investment in science and technology, and all the other ways of treating very seriously these major problems. 2030 is not very far away ~ John Beddington
Major Problems quotes by John Beddington
Neil Kinnock's speeches go on for so long because he has nothing to say and so he has no way of knowing when he's finished saying it. ~ John Major
Major Problems quotes by John Major
All problems with writing and performing come from fear. Fear of exposure, fear of weakness, fear of lack of talent, fear of looking like a fool for trying, for even thinking you could write in the first place. It's all fear. If we didn't have fear, imagine the creativity in the world. Fear holds us back every step of the way. A lot of studies say that despite all our fears in this country - death, war, guns, illness - our biggest fear is public speaking. What I am doing right now. And when people are asked to identify which kind of public speaking they are most afraid of, they check the improvisation box. So improvisation is the number-one fear in America. Forget a nuclear winter or an eight-point nine earthquake or another Hitler. It's improv. Which is funny, because aren't we just improvising all day long? Isn't our whole life just one long improvisation? What are we so scared of? ~ Lily King
Major Problems quotes by Lily King
The regular division of the plane into congruent figures evoking an association in the observer with a familiar natural object is one of these hobbies or problems ... I have embarked on this geometric problem again and again over the years, trying to throw light on different aspects each time. I cannot imagine what my life would be like if this problem had never occurred to me; one might say that I am head over heels in love with it, and I still don't know why. ~ M.C. Escher
Major Problems quotes by M.C. Escher
The starting point of all individual achievement is the adoption of a definite major purpose and a specific plan for its attainment. 22. ~ Napoleon Hill
Major Problems quotes by Napoleon Hill
whether or not you are already there, you will probably agree that a Stage Six default is worthy of your aspirations in just about any area of life. Life is a wonderful occasion. Rising to that occasion means becoming far bigger than your roles. That is the breakthrough to Stage Six. I also see this stage as the major part of a new and apt definition of positive mental health. Stage Six is the first of the two Target Stages. A Default Stage here breaks you out of the pack ~ Michael S. Broder
Major Problems quotes by Michael S. Broder
The major problem with the notion of transformation is that it forever hangs on to some form of self and never lets it go. It perpetuates the notion that self gets better and better, more and more divine, when in truth, the divine increases in proportion as the self decreases or falls away. The notion of a divinized self only increases or inflates the self; for those who buy into this notion, the journey may well end in total disillusionment. Offhand ~ Bernadette Roberts
Major Problems quotes by Bernadette Roberts
Change Won't Happen Immediately, as Nigeria's Problems Didn't Start Overnight ~ Mo Abudu
Major Problems quotes by Mo Abudu
I began to parse the sentence. This is what English majors do. It's what we're trained to do. We don't know how to do anything else, except drive cabs. ~ Gary Reilly
Major Problems quotes by Gary Reilly
To reach him you have to back up and back up, and the further back you go, the further back you see you have to go, until what looked like a small problem of communication turns into a major philosophic inquiry. ~ Robert M. Pirsig
Major Problems quotes by Robert M. Pirsig
Human Nature is not a problem that can be fixed by rules and regulations. All solutions to the existing problems must be based on how people behave, not on how we think they should behave. ~ Kirk Chisholm
Major Problems quotes by Kirk Chisholm
RAIN IN MEASURED AMOUNTS

Another item of information provided in the Qur'an about rain is
that it is sent down to Earth in "due measure." This is mentioned in
Surat az-Zukhruf as follows:
It is He Who sends down water in measured amounts from the sky by
which We bring a dead land back to life. That is how you too will be
raised [from the dead]. (Qur'an, 43:11)
This measured quantity in rain has again been discovered by modern
research. It is estimated that in one second, approximately 16 million
tons of water evaporates from the Earth. This figure amounts to
513 trillion tons of water in one year. This number is equal to the
amount of rain that falls on the Earth in a year. Therefore, water continuously
circulates in a balanced cycle, according to a "measure." Life
on Earth depends on this water cycle. Even if all the available technology
in the world were to be employed for this purpose, this cycle could
not be reproduced artificially.
Even a minor deviation in this equilibrium would soon give rise to
a major ecological imbalance that would bring about the end of life on
Earth. Yet, it never happens, and rain continues to fall every year in
exactly the same measure, just as revealed in the Qur'an.
The proportion of rain does not merely apply to its quantity, but
also to the speed of the falling raindrops. The speed of raindrops,
regardless of their size, does n ~ Harun Yahya
Major Problems quotes by Harun Yahya
I believe we must resolve the problem at our southern border with full regard to the problems and needs of Mexico. I have suggested legalizing the entry of Mexican labor into this country on much the same basis you proposed, although I have not put it into the sense of restoring the bracero program. ~ Ronald Reagan
Major Problems quotes by Ronald Reagan
To a degree, the West is reaping what it sowed from a major strategic blunder in the aftermath of 9/11 - the entire concept of a war on technique, that is, terrorism. Defining the enemy when fighting a concept was impossible. ~ Kurt Eichenwald
Major Problems quotes by Kurt Eichenwald
I have no doubt that Russia will and should remain a major source of energy supplies for Europe and the world. ~ Joe Biden
Major Problems quotes by Joe Biden
Relationships survive on trust, and if that is broken at any point, it's pretty much the end of the relationship. Besides, inability to communicate leads to problems. ~ Yuvraj Singh
Major Problems quotes by Yuvraj Singh
The man who has no problems is out of the game. ~ Elbert Hubbard
Major Problems quotes by Elbert Hubbard
A woman sacrifices more than she is given, and nobody is willing to take any of the pain that they have caused. Yet she is running at full speed without a break, and her world is crumbling from carrying everyone else's problems. Where are the extended hands? They are nowhere to be found. ~ Charlena E. Jackson
Major Problems quotes by Charlena E. Jackson
Sorcha took the elevator down to the basement of the fashion house. She glanced at her stunningly beautiful reflection in the mirror and smiled to herself. How fortunate she was to be a vampire - no gray hairs, no wrinkles, no broken nails, no weight problems, and no PMT. What bliss! And how fortunate it was that all the legends about vampires were not true. She could not imagine an existence where she could not see and admire her own likeness - such a life to her would be intolerable and tedious. How could any female, even a vampire, survive without being able to see their own reflection? How could they do their hair and makeup? The very idea was totally preposterous. ~ Alan Kinross
Major Problems quotes by Alan Kinross
The more intelligent you become the more problems you'll have, Charlie. ~ Daniel Keyes
Major Problems quotes by Daniel Keyes
There were many echoes of Johnson in Lewis. Both were formidable in their learning and in the range of their conversation, both had the same delight in argument, and in spite of their regard for truth, would argue for victory. Lewis had Johnson's handiness with the butt end of a pistol if an argument misfired. Like Johnson, he was a largish, unathletic-looking man, heavy but not tall, with a roundish, florid face that perspired easily and showed networks of tiny blood-vessels on close inspection; he had a dark flop of hair and rather heavily pouched eyes; these eyes gave life to the face, they were large and brown and unusually expressive. The main effects were of a mild, plain powerfulness, and over all there was a sense of simple masculinity, of a virility absorbed into intellectual life. He differed in his youth from most others of his age by seeming to have no sexual problems or preoccupations, or need to talk about them if he had them ~ Jocelyn Gibb
Major Problems quotes by Jocelyn Gibb
There are people who think I'm a Bolshevik, and this is all a major distraction at best and heresy at worst. But I really don't care. ~ William Clay Ford, Jr.
Major Problems quotes by William Clay Ford, Jr.
Intelligence uses knowledge to solve problems. More people can be proud of knowledge they have - fewer with intelligence. Everyone can get knowledge by holding one's attention for three seconds to gather it. Intelligence may require more than three seconds. ~ Thomas Vato
Major Problems quotes by Thomas Vato
Arnold Harberger, Milton Friedman & Co. Inc., your modest proposal of partial equilibrium for the general good is not without its own internal contradictions. Moreover, you cannot take complete credit for this program of equilibriation. Although you and your colleagues and disciples at the Department of Economics of the University of Chicago may have dedicated two decades to the design of the program and the technical training of its executors, it took the approach of another major economic and political crisis of capitalism, analogous to that of the 1930's, to mobilize the political support and the military force to instal a government prepared to put your program of equilibration and your equilibrating experts to work in Chile - and you, Milton Friedman, are still waiting to put your part of the same program, complete with Brazilian style indexing, into practice at home for the glory and benefit of the bourgeoisie in the USA, whom you so faithfully serve as paid executors and executioners. ~ Andre Gunder Frank
Major Problems quotes by Andre Gunder Frank
Male circumcision has been practiced for thousands of years and is a deeply important ceremony for two major religions. ~ Brad Sherman
Major Problems quotes by Brad Sherman
Allied air forces flying from England lost twenty bombers a day in March; another three thousand Eighth Air Force bombers were damaged that month. Morale problems could be seen in the decision of nearly ninety U.S. crews in March and April to fly to neutral countries, usually Sweden or Switzerland, to be interned for the duration. The ~ Rick Atkinson
Major Problems quotes by Rick Atkinson
Our biggest problems cannot be resolved. They must be outgrown. ~ C.G. Jung
Major Problems quotes by C.G. Jung
When men and women fail to form stable marriages, the result is a vast
expansion of government attempts to cope with the terrible social needs that result.
There is scarcely a dollar that the state and federal government spends on social
programs that is not driven, in large part, by family fragmentation: crime, poverty,
drug abuse, teen pregnancy, school failure, mental and physical health problems. ~ Maggie Gallagher
Major Problems quotes by Maggie Gallagher
I'm against solutions that are worse than the problem. Like old women who want their hair dyed the color of shoe polish to hide the gray. ~ Neal Shusterman
Major Problems quotes by Neal Shusterman
Inevitably, if we are to grow and change as adults, we must gradually learn to confront the challenges, paradoxes, problems and painful reality of an insecure world. ~ James P. Krehbiel
Major Problems quotes by James P. Krehbiel
Many outcomes were greatly improved by things that delayed them. ~ Mokokoma Mokhonoana
Major Problems quotes by Mokokoma Mokhonoana
For the average person, all problems date to World War II; for the more informed, to World War I; for the genuine historian, to the French Revolution. ~ Erik Von Kuehnelt-Leddihn
Major Problems quotes by Erik Von Kuehnelt-Leddihn
People look at black pride in America and sport's impact on it. In the major cities it took off the first time Jackie Robinson stole home. In the deep South, it started with Eddie Robinson, who took a small college in northern Louisiana with little or no funds and sent the first black to the pros and made everyone look at him and Grambling. ~ Jerry Izenberg
Major Problems quotes by Jerry Izenberg
I write in complete silence using only two fingers so I can't type faster than I edit at the same time, saving me from having to go back. Although it does create a lot of capitalization issues. And punctuation problems. I didn't say it was a good routine. ~ Dan Alatorre
Major Problems quotes by Dan Alatorre
Because the eternal principle of agency gives us the freedom to choose and think for ourselves, we should become increasingly able to solve problems. We may make the occasional mistake, but as long as we are following gospel principles and guidelines, we can learn from those mistakes and become more understanding of others and more effective in serving them. ~ M. Russell Ballard
