Love is spelt T.I.M.E. ~ Dieter F. Uchtdorf
M E quotes by Dieter F. Uchtdorf
It's ok, man," I said with amusement. "You know what they say, it's not the size of the wave, it's the motion of the ocean." He stood up and started re-racking the weights for the next person. "Oh, but when you have a giant wave that moves just right . . . it's the best feeling your woman can ever have," he said, his eyebrows waggling up and down. ~ M.E. Carter
M E quotes by M.E. Carter
Sometimes when you experience something wonderful, everything else loses its shine. ~ M.E. Vaughan
M E quotes by M.E. Vaughan
While I don't think sociopaths have any sort of moral urge to do good things, I think they can and do act morally in the context of pursuing their own advantage. A good analogy would be a corporation. There are a lot of corporations that do things that you like, maybe even good things, like produce vaccines or electric cars, although the primary motivation is to make a profit. But just because you are trying to make a profit doesn't mean you can't do it by doing things you like, or that you are good at, or that comport with the way you see the world, or want the world to see you. ~ M.E. Thomas
M E quotes by M.E. Thomas
Taki

As a prolific author and journalist, Taki has written for many top-rated publications, including the Spectator, the London Sunday Times, Vanity Fair, National Review, and many others. Greek-born and American-educated, Taki is a well-known international personality and a respected social critic all over the world.

In June 1987, I was an usher at the wedding of Harry Somerset, Marquis of Worcester, to Tracy Ward. The wedding and ensuing ball took place in the grand Ward country house, attended by a large portion of British society, including the Prince and Princess of Wales. Late in the evening, while I was in my cups, a friend, Nicky Haslam, grabbed my arm and introduced me to Diana, who was coming off the dance floor. We exchanged pleasantries, me slurring my words to the extent that she suddenly took my hand, looked at me straight in the face, and articulated, "T-a-k-e y-o-u-r t-i-m-e." She mistook my drunken state for a severe speech impediment and went into her queen-of-hearts routine. Nicky, of course, ruined it all by pulling her away and saying, "Oh, let him be, ma'am; he's drunk as usual. ~ Larry King
M E quotes by Larry King
I am no longer knocking at death's door but the path is still familiar. ~ M.E. Aster
M E quotes by M.E. Aster
After something bad happens, don't stand there and stare at something, stand there and do something ~ E.M.
M E quotes by E.M.
For me N.M.E. was a very big thing. When I first came to the United Kingdom I started taking pictures for them and I became their main photographer for five years, and that's really been the basis of everything I've been doing since. ~ Anton Corbijn
M E quotes by Anton Corbijn
If the monkey really wanted to get the weasel, he would've stopped wasting time and burned down the mulberry bush. ~ M.E. Castle
M E quotes by M.E. Castle
It is better to pay court to a queen ... than to worship, as we too often do, some unworthy person whose wealth is his sole passport into society. I believe that a habit of respect is good for the human race. ~ M. E. W. Sherwood
M E quotes by M. E. W. Sherwood
You know, mind allows us to portray in different sensory modalities, visual, auditory, olfactory, you name it, what we are like and what the world is like. But this very, very important quality of subjectivity, this quality that allows us to take a distant view and say, "I am here, I exist, I have a life and there are things around me that refer to me." That me-ness, M-E-hyphen, that is what really constitutes consciousness. ~ Antonio Damasio
M E quotes by Antonio Damasio
It doubtless seems highly paradoxical to assert that Time is unreal, and that all statements which involve its reality are erroneous. Such an assertion involves a far greater departure from the natural position of mankind than is involved in the assertion of the unreality of Space or of the unreality of Matter. So decisive a breach with that natural position is not to be lightly accepted. And yet in all ages the belief in the unreality of time has proved singularly attractive. ~ J.M.E. McTaggart
M E quotes by J.M.E. McTaggart
If the hat fits wear it... ~ M.E.Lewis
M E quotes by M.E.Lewis
My understanding of racial discrimination as a child was highly distorted because the most prominent man in Archery was an African-American bishop. When he came home from up north, where he was in charge of A.M.E. churches in five states, it was front-page news. He was the most successful man in my life. ~ Jimmy Carter
M E quotes by Jimmy Carter
For this equality belongs to the post-Renaissance world of ideology-of political magic and the alchemical science" of politics. Envy is the basis of its broad appeal. And rampant envy, the besetting virus of modern society, is the most predictable result of insistence upon its realization. Furthermore, hue and cry over equality of opportunity and equal rights leads, a fortiori, to a final demand for equality of condition. Under its pressure self respect gives way in the large majority of men who have not reached the level of their expectation, who have no support from an inclusive identity, and who hunger for "revenge" on those who occupy a higher station and will (they expect) continue to enjoy that advantage. The end result is visible in the spiritual proletarians of the "lonely crowd." Bertrand de Jouvenel has described the process which produces such non-persons in his memorable study, On Power. They are the natural pawns of an impersonal and omnicompetent Leviathan. And to insure their docility such a state is certain to recruit a large "new class" of men, persons superior in "ability" and authority, both to their ostensible "masters" among the people and to such anachronisms as stand in their progressive way. Such is the evidence of the recent past and particularly of American history. Arrant individualism, fracturing and then destroying the hope of amity and confederation, the communal bond and the ancient vision of the good society as an extrapolation from family, is ~ M.E. Bradford
M E quotes by M.E. Bradford
At a point, there is nothing you can do to make someone love you, nothing you can do to make your love better or lasting, but you want it, search for it, and make every effort to sustain it regardless. ~ M.E. Thomas
M E quotes by M.E. Thomas
The gothic vampire is the sociopath writ large, charismatic and sophisticated, a predator walking among us undetected ~ M. E. Thomas
M E quotes by M. E. Thomas
Failure to conform to social norms. I prefer to define my sociopathy as a set of traits that inform my personality but don't define me: I am generally free of entangling and irrational emotions, I am strategic and canny, I am intelligent and confident and charming, but I also struggle to react appropriately to other people's confusing and emotion-driven social cues. ~ M.E. Thomas
M E quotes by M.E. Thomas
My mom's like me and she doesn't want to look weak in front of other people. And she's like Colby in the way that she has to take hits at other people whenever she feels threatened. That used to make me want to cave and do what she wants. But it doesn't anymore. ~ M-E Girard
M E quotes by M-E Girard
ME/CFS has a greater negative impact on functional status and well-being than other chronic diseases, e.g., cancer or lung diseases[8], and is associated with a drastic decrement in physical functioning[9]. In a comparison study[10] ME/CFS patients scored significantly lower than patients with hypertension, congestive heart failure, acute myocardial infarction, and multiple sclerosis (MS), on all of the eight Short Form Health Survey (SF-36)[11] subscales. As compared to patients with depression, ME/CFS patients scored significantly lower on all the scales, except for scales measuring mental health and role disability due to emotional problems, on which they scored significantly higher. ~ Frank Twisk
M E quotes by Frank Twisk
To what saint do you pray?" the boy asked. The boy detected a faint smile on the big man's face in the dim light. "I pray to my God and Jesus Christ himself. ~ M.E. Hubbs
M E quotes by M.E. Hubbs
Children spell love with four letters: T-I-M-E.. ~ Max Lucado
M E quotes by Max Lucado
God is A.W.E.S.O.M.E! HE is Always Working Extraordinary Supernatural On-time Miracles Everyday ~ Sommer Ellison
M E quotes by Sommer Ellison
Rome, like Washington, is small enough, quiet enough, for strong personal intimacies; Rome, like Washington, has its democratic court and its entourage of diplomatic circle; Rome, like Washington, gives you plenty of time and plenty of sunlight. In New York we have annihilated both. ~ M. E. W. Sherwood
M E quotes by M. E. W. Sherwood
She understands that she is just human, that we are all just human, and that people will fail no matter what sort of code they set for themselves. ~ M.E. Thomas
M E quotes by M.E. Thomas
I often wish I could just passively watch people without being expected to participate myself, like television. ~ M.E. Thomas
M E quotes by M.E. Thomas
I have learned more about people from books, television, and movies than I ever have in real life. I have enjoyed people more that way, too ~ M. E. Thomas
M E quotes by M. E. Thomas
The ant is the best creature on earth. It knows its virtues. ~ J.M.E
M E quotes by J.M.E
If we can trust God for our eternal salvation, how can we not trust Him to provide for the "little" things of life? ~M.E.Howard ~ M.E. Howard
M E quotes by M.E. Howard
English people ... are very kind, very friendly, interested in a general way, and consider us a great, wonderful, unknown sort of Australia, and that is all. ~ M. E. W. Sherwood
M E quotes by M. E. W. Sherwood
Time is your most precious gift because you only have a set amount of it. You can make more money, but you can't make more time. When you give someone your time, you are giving them a portion of your life that you'll never get back. Your time is your life. That is why the greatest gift you can give someone is your time.
It is not enough to just say relationships are important; we must prove it by investing time in them. Words alone are worthless. "My children, our love should not be just words and talk; it must be true love, which shows itself in action." Relationships take time and effort, and the best way to spell love is "T-I-M-E. ~ Rick Warren
M E quotes by Rick Warren
How often the Presidency has simply meant that a man shall be abused, distrusted, and worked to death while he is filling the great office, and that he should drop into unmerited oblivion when he has left the White House ... ~ M. E. W. Sherwood
M E quotes by M. E. W. Sherwood
Everyone has their different tastes in regards to power, just like everyone has their different tastes for food or sex. My bread and butter is feeling like my mind and my ideas are shaping the world around me, which is of course why I bother writing the blog. ~ M.E. Thomas
M E quotes by M.E. Thomas
The threat of punishment at home or school only served as a challenge to figure out how to circumvent the consequences when I did what I wanted to do anyway. I didn't fear the punishment, I just saw it as an inconvenience to work around. ~ M.E. Thomas
M E quotes by M.E. Thomas
Another way to point out the true differences in men and women is that wives spell 'LOVE' 'H-O-L-D M-E'; husbands spell 'LOVE' 'S-E-X. ~ ScissorMan
M E quotes by ScissorMan
This - us kissing - is making me have mini heart attacks over and over. She makes little noises, which make me have to hold on to bigger noises that try to force their way out of my throat. I don't know how late it is, but it feels like time stopped and sped up all at the same time. I just want to be next to her, to have her be super close to me all the time. ~ M-E Girard
M E quotes by M-E Girard
When you grow up as a girl, it is like there are faint chalk lines traced approximately three inches around your entire body at all times, drawn by society and often religion and family and particularly other women, who somehow feel invested in how you behave, as if your actions reflect directly on all womanhood. ~ M.E. Thomas
M E quotes by M.E. Thomas
I'm an 'intelligent' sociopath. I don't have problems with drugs, I don't commit crimes, I don't take pleasure in hurting people, and I don't typically have relationship problems. I do have a complete lack of empathy. But I consider that an advantage, most of the time. Do I know the difference between right and wrong, and do I want to be good? Sure ... A peaceful and orderly world is a more comfortable world for me to live in. So do I avoid breaking the law because it's 'right'? No, I avoid breaking the law because it makes sense. ~ M.E. Thomas
M E quotes by M.E. Thomas
To look at and properly appreciate the British Museum is the work of a lifetime. ~ M. E. W. Sherwood
M E quotes by M. E. W. Sherwood
I saw that a tender feeling was blossoming in her heart, like a rose in spring and I could not help recalling Petrarch's saying, "Innocence is often but a hair's breadth from ruin. ~ M.E. Kerr
M E quotes by M.E. Kerr
Everybody slips up becaues we're not perfect; that's what mercy is for. ~ M.E. Thomas
M E quotes by M.E. Thomas
Washington society has always demanded less and given more than any society in this country
demanded less of applause, deference, etiquette, and has accepted as current coin quick wit, appreciative tact, and a talent for talking. ~ M. E. W. Sherwood
M E quotes by M. E. W. Sherwood
Some might call it manipulation, but I like to consider it simply using what God gave me. And the word manipulation is so ugly. It's what people say to disavow their own choices. If they end up never regretting their decision, does that mean that no one has manipulated them? ~ M.E. Thomas
M E quotes by M.E. Thomas
What I really crave is to be able to act in whatever way I want without having to
worry about the consequences. I typically fight that craving. ~ M.E. Thomas
M E quotes by M.E. Thomas
There are so many things that are incompatible with a single life. No one can learn fully in one life the lessons of unbroken health and of bodily sickness, of riches and of poverty, of study and action, of comradeship and isolation, of defiance and of obedience, of virtue and of vice. ~ J.M.E. McTaggart
M E quotes by J.M.E. McTaggart
One nurse thought I was "brave." I think she was talking about my steely-eyed, grin-and-bear-it kind of attitude. There were no tears, no complaints from me - a total lack of affect. In a victim, it is courage and thus admirable; in a predator, it is a lack of humanity and instills fear. ~ M.E. Thomas
M E quotes by M.E. Thomas
There are so many things I want to say. All a waste because we don't speak the damn launguage, and she doesn't know how to listen anyway. ~ M-E Girard
M E quotes by M-E Girard
Outwardly I was all confidence and openness; inwardly I was spiteful and lonely and unaware of how to relate to the world. I wanted so much to be good but only knew how to appear that way by being bad. ~ M.E. Thomas
M E quotes by M.E. Thomas
Surely death acquires a new and deeper significance when we regard it no longer as a single and unexplained break in an unending life, but as a part of the continuously recurring rhythm of progress-as inevitable, as natural and benevolent as sleep. ~ J.M.E. McTaggart
M E quotes by J.M.E. McTaggart
Spies have years of training and experience. I had half an hour of panic and a pig. ~ M.E. Castle
M E quotes by M.E. Castle
A uniform cordoned off the area with crime scene tape. The M.E. pulled in and parked. There were two EMT trucks idling at the edge of the lot. I'd stayed close to the back door, and one of the Rangeman guys had taken a position two feet from me, standing at parade rest. No doubt in my mind he'd take a bullet for me rather than face Ranger over a dead Stephanie. ~ Janet Evanovich
M E quotes by Janet Evanovich
I think the Americans are the only people who have good beds. I consider the American bedroom unparalleled for freshness, comfort, and cleanliness. It is worth going all over Europe in order to come home to one's own bed. ~ M. E. W. Sherwood
M E quotes by M. E. W. Sherwood
Things look different in the morning. Sometimes they're better, but other times they feel wrong. Sometimes you regret doing something so much because it made you realize things about yourself - like that you never wanted to do that thing in the first place. ~ M-E Girard
M E quotes by M-E Girard
You never answered," he said. "You got the hots for me, or not?" His dark eyes lit up with a smile.
Squaring her shoulders, Holiday started talking. "Della assumed I might have the hots for you. And you know what they say about assuming, right?"
"It makes an ass out of you and me," Della answered, and gave Kylie the elbow. "Get it. A.S.S.U.M.E."
Holiday cut her eyes to Della in visual reprimand, then started walking away. She got three steps and swung back around. "Are you coming?" she snapped at Burnett.
"You didn't ask me to," He answered.
"Well, I assumed you would know I needed to discuss what happened."
He arched one dark brow upward. "And what did you just about assuming? ~ C.C. Hunter
M E quotes by C.C. Hunter
I did not find Liverpool ugly. Her stately public buildings, broad streets, public squares, and noble statues redeem her from the charge. ~ M. E. W. Sherwood
M E quotes by M. E. W. Sherwood
Success is like reaching for heaven; you have to work to get there ~ E.M.
M E quotes by E.M.
It isn't enough that the bad guy is prevented from doing his bad deeds; he must suffer as much as possible. It is as if the existence of evil - or something that can be designated as evil - provides a safe haven for the good to engage in evil. It's a safe space to indulge in inflicting harm, to experience the sublime of suffering. ~ M.E. Thomas
M E quotes by M.E. Thomas
I regularly comment on my desire to exploit my admirers or to kill babies and cute animals, and I don't even need to laugh or smile for people to think I am joking. ~ M.E. Thomas
M E quotes by M.E. Thomas
In the early forties and fifties almost everybody "had about enough to live on," and young ladies dressed well on a hundred dollars a year. The daughters of the richest man in Boston were dressed with scrupulous plainness, and the wife and mother owned one brocade, which did service for several years. Display was considered vulgar. Now, alas! only Queen Victoria dares to go shabby. ~ M. E. W. Sherwood
M E quotes by M. E. W. Sherwood
Perhaps the most noticeable aspect of my confidence is the way I sustain eye contact. Some people have called it a "predator stare," and it appears that most sociopaths have it. Sustained eye contact can seem hostile, and so zoo visitors are frequently advised not to stare at gorillas, lest it be taken as a sign of aggression. Most humans seem to think so, too; ~ M.E. Thomas
M E quotes by M.E. Thomas
There's no "I" in team, but there is an M.E. ~ M.E. Brines
M E quotes by M.E. Brines
It is called middle school and it's the most fiendish, torturous, and horrible place ever conceived in the darkest corner of man's mind. ~ M.E. Castle
M E quotes by M.E. Castle
Some people balk at saying that "normal" people might actually be in the minority: "How could the psychological world label half or more of us with a diagnosis?!" But so what if the majority of people qualify for a psychological label? Doesn't that seem equally if not more probable than assuming that half of the people in the world are pretty much interchangeable in terms of brain and emotional functioning? ~ M. E. Thomas
M E quotes by M. E. Thomas
Yoga is about balance, both mind and body, as well as increasing self-awareness, with by-products of better strength and flexibility. ~ M.E. Dahkid
M E quotes by M.E. Dahkid
Of course everything comes at a price - we wouldn't be doing it if we weren't getting something from you, often money or power or simply even the enjoyment of your admiration and desire, ~ M.E. Thomas

M E quotes by Amanda Lovelace
It's better to talk to yourself than ignore yourself ~ E.M.
M E quotes by E.M.
This habit of free speaking at ladies' lunches has impaired society; it has doubtless led to many of the tragedies of divorce and marital unhappiness. Could society be deaf and dumb and Congress abolished for a season, what a happy and peaceful life one could lead! ~ M. E. W. Sherwood
M E quotes by M. E. W. Sherwood
Tucker, to make anything work, from meat loaf to a marriage, there are two things you have to do. Forgive and continue. ~ M.E. Kerr
M E quotes by M.E. Kerr
If you should put a knife into a French girl's learning it would explode and blow away like an omelette soufflee ... ~ M. E. W. Sherwood
M E quotes by M. E. W. Sherwood
I work with Kick G.A.M.E., the grassroots artist movement. Not to tell people we have the best union plan in the world, but to show people that if some activists, if some revolutionaries, if some street organizers from the hood can come together and put together a preliminary program to give health care to independent artists. ~ Immortal Technique
M E quotes by Immortal Technique
The pages were yellowing a tad but sometimes it was best to go old school for reliable facts. The internet was a flaky and unreliable tool sometimes. ~ M.E. Harmon
M E quotes by M.E. Harmon
Why is my voice so high-pitched when I cry? I run at my leaky nose.... "When everyone was licking on me at school when I was little, it was Johnny who came with his buddies to check on me. Johnny bought me my Turtles. Johnny took me to the movies. Johnny gave me his clothes. Johnny let me play hockey outside with him. Johnny cut my hair. Johnny - "
Now I have the hiccups. ~ M-E Girard
M E quotes by M-E Girard
War is a most uneconomical, foolish, poor arrangement, a bloody enrichment of that soil which bears the sweet flower of peace. ~ M. E. W. Sherwood
M E quotes by M. E. W. Sherwood
When I told my teachers I wanted to be a writer, alot of them encouraged me to lower my expectations and to be more realistic. So I rode away on my magical, winged horse, spraying faerie dust behind me, and laughing manically as I went. ~ M.E. Vaughan
M E quotes by M.E. Vaughan
fear. 'Don't go inside.' He placed his hands on her shoulders. 'We've called an ambulance and the police. There's nothing more we can do.' Claire shrugged his hands from her and pushed past him. 'I am the police,' she said over her shoulder, and stepped through the front door. She looked around and heard commotion coming from above. Her eyes travelled towards the stairs as she heard a woman screaming. Then came the sound of other people running around the landing overhead. Claire closed her eyes and took a deep breath. She didn't have to see upstairs to know what had been discovered. She was about to ascend the stairs when she heard the sirens in the background, drawing closer. Just then two more people came running down ~ T.M.E. Walsh
M E quotes by T.M.E. Walsh
The truth is that the market doesn't really reflect some magical perfect valuation of a stock under the efficient market hypothesis. It reflects the mass consensus of how actual individual investors value the stock. It is the sum total of everyone's hopes and fears about what a company is capable of doing. ~ M.E. Thomas
M E quotes by M.E. Thomas
Luckily, we are seeing less and less post-exertional malaise, the symptom that stops Danny's body and brain recovering properly after expending any energy, even just watching TV. ~ Sonya Chowdhury
M E quotes by Sonya Chowdhury
Joel Bakan, author of The Corporation: The Pathological Pursuit of Profit and Power argues that if corporations have 'person hood' under the law, then it makes sense to question what kind of people they are. He posits that corporations behave with all the classical signs of sociopathy: they are inherently amoral, they elevate their own interests above all others', and they disregard moral and sometimes legal limits on their behavior in pursuit of their own advancement. Organizations of this type would thrive under the leadership of people who have the same traits: sociopaths. ~ M.E. Thomas
M E quotes by M.E. Thomas
Dr. Robert Hare, one of the foremost researchers on sociopathy, believes that a sociopath is four times more likely to be at the top of the corporate ladder than in the janitor's closet, due to the close match between the personality traits of sociopaths and the unusual demands of high-powered jobs. ~ M.E. Thomas
M E quotes by M.E. Thomas
Westminster Abbey is nature crystallized into a conventional form by man, with his sorrows, his joys, his failures, and his seeking for the Great Spirit. It is a frozen requiem, with a nation's prayer ever in dumb music ascending. ~ M. E. W. Sherwood
M E quotes by M. E. W. Sherwood
Obstacles are challenges for winners and excuses for losers ~ M.E. Kerr
M E quotes by M.E. Kerr
It's okay to feel bad about how things went down, but it's not okay to drown in guilt and regret every day for having made decisions other people don't agree with. At some point, we all have to man up and decide to do what we have to do, despite the people around us who try to get in the way. ~ M-E Girard
M E quotes by M-E Girard
Easter was around long before Christianity. It was called Estrus and was a fertility celebration in the spring in Northern lands. The rabbit was a symbol of fertility because of its ability to breed and produce many young. Out of that tradition came our Easter Bunny. In Australia we celebrate Easter but it occurs in autumn, not spring. We inherited the Easter Bunny but in the past few years, there has been a movement to change to an Easter Bilby in order ~ M.E. Skeel
M E quotes by M.E. Skeel
Ruining people. I love the way the phrase rolls around on my tongue and inside my mouth. Ruining people is delicious. We're all hungry, empaths and sociopaths. We want to consume. ~ M.E. Thomas
M E quotes by M.E. Thomas
The best part of re-working a story is falling in love with the characters all over again. ~ M.E. Tudor
M E quotes by M.E. Tudor
I should say tact was worth much more than wealth as a road to leadership ... I mean that subtle apprehension which teaches a person how to do and say the right thing at the right time. It coexists with very ordinary qualities, and yet many great geniuses are without it. Of all human qualities I consider it the most convenient
not always the highest; yet I would rather have it than many more shining qualities. ~ M. E. W. Sherwood
M E quotes by M. E. W. Sherwood
Holland is a land of intense paradox. It is quite impossible, but it is there. ~ M. E. W. Sherwood
M E quotes by M. E. W. Sherwood
I can read every word of your soul, become deeply engrossed in the study of it until I've comprehended every nuance and detail. But then when I'm done, I'll discard it as easily as if it were a newspaper, shaking my head at how the ink has stained my fingers gray. My desire to know every layer of you isn't feigned, but interest isn't love, and I make no promises of forever. Perhaps I do every so often, but you have no business believing me. ~ M.E. Thomas
M E quotes by M.E. Thomas
The whole idea that you can take a disease like this and exercise your way to health is foolishness. It is insane. ~ Paul Cheney
M E quotes by Paul Cheney
THE COLONIES OF AMERICA C L O U D . M E D I T E C H . D E S C O N . E V E R G R E E N A FREE STATE IS A CORPORATE STATE Abruptly ~ Marie Lu
M E quotes by Marie Lu
When I get nervous, I go to the library and hang around. The libraries are filled with people who are nervous. You can blend in with them there. You're bound to see someone more nervous than you are in a library. Sometimes the librarians themselves are more nervous than you are. I'll probably be a librarian for that reason. Then if I'm nervous on the job, it won't show. I'll just stamp books and look things up for people and run back and forth to the staff room sneaking smokes until I get hold of myself. A library is a great place to hid. ~ M.E. Kerr
M E quotes by M.E. Kerr
Knowledge wouldn't be found without imagination ~ M.E.R
M E quotes by M.E.R
People who live in quiet, remote places are apt to give good dinners. They are the oft-recurring excitement of an otherwise unemotional, dull existence. They linger, each of these dinners, in our palimpsest memories, each recorded clearly, so that it does not blot out the others. ~ M. E. W. Sherwood
M E quotes by M. E. W. Sherwood
Too many young painters of the day work for the crowd, and not for art. But, then, should not the painters of the day work for the education of the crowd? ~ M. E. W. Sherwood
M E quotes by M. E. W. Sherwood
The English are very fond of being entertained, and ... they regard the French and the American people as destined by Heaven to amuse them. ~ M. E. W. Sherwood
M E quotes by M. E. W. Sherwood
It seemed to him that anyone with any trouble at all eventually found his way to a city library, and the really troubled ones became regulars. ~ M.E. Kerr
M E quotes by M.E. Kerr
Although life is filled with twists and turns, only you have the ability to make positive changes to your life. You can do it. One day at a time! ~ Taken from "Words of Wisdom for Warriors" by EM.EM.Genesis ~ E.M. E.M. Genesis
M E quotes by E.M. E.M. Genesis
Don't itch the itch feel the itch ~ E.M.
M E quotes by E.M.
Having a gut instinct that told me how to be a moral person might be evolutionarily handy. On the other hand, emotional moral judgment also enables people to do really horrible things to each other, like lynching or "honor" killings, and justify them by calling them "moral." Because sociopaths don't experience morality emotionally, I would argue that we are freed to be more rational and more tolerant. There is something to be said for the impartiality of pure reason - religion-created mass hysteria among the supposedly mentally healthy populace has resulted in much worse damage and carnage in the world than anything sociopaths have caused. (Although I imagine that there may sometimes be sociopaths at the head of it all, whipping up the masses to do their bidding.) ~ M.E. Thomas
