Let's not put our lust of life on the back burner of a distant future, but let's share and walk up to others, listening to the sound of their words, and taking part in the vibrant carrousel of their pursuits. ("Waiting for the smoke signals") ~ Erik Pevernagie
Lust Of Life quotes by Erik Pevernagie
There is one quality that characterizes all of us who deal with the sciences of the earth and its life - we are never bored. ~ Rachel Carson
Lust Of Life quotes by Rachel Carson
And there was the moon. A warm and visible greeting, a beacon of relief. Full, unshrouded, its edges crisp. It looked like an airy wafer- what were those crackers that came in the big green tin? She stared at the moon and thought about the fact that she was breathing. Fact of breathing, fact of life. This she could control: slow down and speed up her breathing, despite the pain in her throat. She'd never really looked at the moon, never really seen how intricate the etchings on its yellowy silver surface. Bowl of a spoon in candlelight. When she'd looked a long time- I see the moon, and the moon sees me- a glimmering ring like a rainbow materialized at the rim. In the memory she still retained, as clear as a framed snapshot, a portrait worn in a locket, Saga stared at the moon that way for hours, and it kept her company, it kept her sane, it kept her in one piece, it kept her alive. It was proof, fact, patience, faith. ~ Julia Glass
Lust Of Life quotes by Julia Glass
But the touch or company of any man whatsoever stirreth up their heat, which in their solitude was hushed and quiet, and lay as cinders raked up in ashes. ~ Michel De Montaigne
Lust Of Life quotes by Michel De Montaigne
I roll my eyes. "Oh, the woe of being adored."
Beta Sinta grins. "It's a hard life. ~ Amanda Bouchet
Lust Of Life quotes by Amanda Bouchet
Besides, he overcame the world when no one else had overcome it. It was as it were a young lion which had never been defeated in a fight: it roared upon him out of the thicket and leaped upon him in the fulness of its strength. Now if our greater Samson tore this young lion as though it were a kid and flung it down as a vanquished thing, you may depend upon it that now it is an old lion, and grey and covered with the wounds which he gave it of old, we, having the Lord's life and power in us, will overcome it too. Blessed be his name! What good cheer there is in his victory. He as good as says to us, I have overcome the world, and you in whom I dwell, who are clothed with my Spirit, must overcome it too. ~ Charles Haddon Spurgeon
Lust Of Life quotes by Charles Haddon Spurgeon
To be brutally honest, for much of that time, I was the only person in the world with Parkinson's. Of course, I mean that in the abstract. I had become acutely aware of people around me who appears to have the symptoms of Parkinson's disease, but as long as they didn't identify with me, I was in no rush to identify with them. My situation allowed, if not complete denial, at least a thick padding of insulation. ~ Michael J. Fox
Lust Of Life quotes by Michael J. Fox
I'm tired of watching children perish. I'm tired of watching the world grind up gentle people. I'm tired of outliving those I shouldn't be outliving. I've made books my life because they let me escape this world of cruelty and savagery. I needed to say that out loud to somebody other than my cats. Please take care of yourselves, my young friends. ~ Jeff Zentner
Lust Of Life quotes by Jeff Zentner
How the fuck did I get here? I thought. If I was going to be completely sober for the rest of my life, if I couldn't even have one drink at the end of a long and brittle day, then the life I lived needed to be a life from which I did not seek escape. ~ Augusten Burroughs
Lust Of Life quotes by Augusten Burroughs
The human attitude of which classical music is the expression is always the same; it is always based on the same kind of insight into life and strives for the same kind of victory over blind chance. Classical music as gesture signifies knowledge of the tragedy of the human condition, affirmation of human destiny, courage, cheerful serenity. ~ Hermann Hesse
Lust Of Life quotes by Hermann Hesse
The Paradox of Sustenance: For an organism's life to be continued; another organism's life has to be discontinued. ~ Mokokoma Mokhonoana
Lust Of Life quotes by Mokokoma Mokhonoana
The termination; final chapter of endless road. ~ Usha Cosmico
Lust Of Life quotes by Usha Cosmico
Every one of us is a mystic. We may or may not realize it, we may not even like it. But whether we know it or not, whether we accept it or not, mystical experience is always there, inviting us on a journey of ultimate discovery. We have been given the gift of life in this perplexing world to become who we ultimately are: creatures of boundless love, caring compassion, and wisdom. Existence is a summons to the eternal journey of the sage - the sage we all are, if only we could see. ~ Wayne Teasdale
Lust Of Life quotes by Wayne Teasdale
You've been in my life for so long that I stopped thinking about you as someone who existed separately from me. You were just part of me. And then all these changes happened, and you decided to leave me, and I've been going crazy ever since. ~ Susan Elizabeth Phillips
Lust Of Life quotes by Susan Elizabeth Phillips
No matter how I feel, I get up, dress up, and show up for life. When I do, the day always serves up more than I could have hoped for. Each day truly is a slice of heaven. Some days the slices are just smaller than others. ~ Regina Brett
Lust Of Life quotes by Regina Brett
My books promised me that life wasn't just made up of workday tasks and prosaic things. The world is bigger and more colorful and more important than that. ~ Laura Amy Schlitz
Lust Of Life quotes by Laura Amy Schlitz
It was cold. Space, the air we breathed, the yellow rocks, were deadly cold. There was something ultimate, passionless, and eternal in this cold. It came to us as a single constant note from the depths of space. We stood on the very boundary of life and death. ~ Frank Smythe
Lust Of Life quotes by Frank Smythe
There comes a time in the life of a sailor when he no longer belongs ashore. It's then that he surrenders to the Pacific, where no land blocks the eye, where sky and ocean mirror each other until above and below have lost their meaning, and the Milky Way looks like the spume of a breaking wave and the globe itself rolls like a boat in the midst of the sinking and heaving surf of that starry sky, and even the sun is nothing but a tiny glowing dot of phosphorescence on the sea of the night. ~ Carsten Jensen
Lust Of Life quotes by Carsten Jensen
If you want to become enlightened, you've got to get all the bullshit out of your life. You have to clear up your mind completely. ~ Frederick Lenz
Lust Of Life quotes by Frederick Lenz
In every aspect of life, I consider myself incredibly fortunate. ~ Matt Mullenweg
Lust Of Life quotes by Matt Mullenweg
There is good reason to make our decision now to serve the Lord. On this Sunday morning, when the complications and temptations of life are somewhat removed, and when we have the time and more of an inclination to take an eternal perspective, we can more clearly evaluate what will bring us the greatest happiness in life. We should decide now, in the light of the morning, how we will act when the darkness of night and when the storms of temptation arrive. ~ Howard W. Hunter
Lust Of Life quotes by Howard W. Hunter
Who you are when you have no power to say anything, and who you become when you have power to say everything will determine whether you are a leader or not. ~ Israelmore Ayivor
Lust Of Life quotes by Israelmore Ayivor
I am deeply in love with the world and its contents. My heartaches when I see any suffering so kindness and altruism is my ultimate way of life. ~ Debasish Mridha
Lust Of Life quotes by Debasish Mridha
Long ago, there'd been choices he could have made that would have sent him on a different path. But those days were dead, and the future held only nights, a stretch of darkness that led down to the eternal dark. He would meet Vorcan, eventually, and he'd swear his life to the Guild Master, and that would be that, the closing of the final door. And his sense of outrage at the injustices around him, the corruptions of the world, would wither in the unlit tunnels beneath Darujhistan. In the exactness of the methods of assassination, his final victim would be himself. ~ Steven Erikson
Lust Of Life quotes by Steven Erikson
But Anne, do you love him?" I asked curiously.
The curve of her hood hid all but the corner of her smile. "I am a fool to own it, but I am in a fever for his touch. ~ Philippa Gregory
Lust Of Life quotes by Philippa Gregory
The past is bound to be fragmentary, bound to be reconstructed, bound to be reinvented. It serves only to collect the truths of today. If our present is the child of the past, our past is the child of the present. And the future will be the harvester of our bastard offspring. ~ Amin Maalouf
Lust Of Life quotes by Amin Maalouf
Jesus said if you want to be great in the kingdom, if you want to live a blessed life, there's a simple key: You have to serve other people. He wasn't talking about an event that happens every once in a while. He was talking about a lifestyle in which you live to help others, and you're always looking for ways to serve.
When you live a "serve others" lifestyle, you help friends, volunteer in your community, and take care of loved ones. It's not something you have to force yourself to do. It becomes a part of who you are. You develop an attitude of giving to everyone you meet. That's when you'll have true happiness and true fulfillment. You live not to receive, but to give.
Many people are not happy, because they are focused only on themselves. It's all about "my dreams, my goals, and my problems." That self-centered focus will limit you. You have to get your mind off of yourself.
You were created to give. God has put people in your life on purpose so you can be a blessing to them. Every morning you should ask, "God, what is my assignment today? Help me to see the people you want me to be good to. ~ Joel Osteen
Lust Of Life quotes by Joel Osteen
I like to help others and count it as my greatest pleasure in life to see a person free himself of the shadows which darken his days. ~ L. Ron Hubbard
Lust Of Life quotes by L. Ron Hubbard
18"And when he sits on the throne of his kingdom, he shall write for himself in a book a copy of this law, approved by [40] the Levitical priests. 19And it shall be with him, and he shall read in it all the days of his life, that he may learn to fear the LORD his God by keeping all the words of this law and these statutes, and doing them, 20that his heart may not be lifted up above his brothers, ~ Anonymous
Lust Of Life quotes by Anonymous
Life had this way of sneaking up on you. You'd just be sitting there, lost in a moment, when all of a sudden, a cold feeling swept across your belly and you asked yourself if you ever lived a day in your life. ~ Belle Aurora
Lust Of Life quotes by Belle Aurora
It is such a simple formula: The more senses we bring to the moment, the more time slows, the more a catalogue of joyful vivid memories grows in our minds, the more life is filled with gratitude, and the more nourished our soul. ~ Brendon Burchard
Lust Of Life quotes by Brendon Burchard
Death changes us, the living. In the presence of death, we become more aware of life.... It can inspire us to decide what really matters in life--and then to seek it. (Founder of M.A.D.D.) ~ Candy Lightner
Lust Of Life quotes by Candy Lightner
I haven't been disingenuous in what I've said describing my perception of "truth" and "reality." Certainly, I understand what is generally meant to be the "truth," I understand this notion, but it's not something I trust in, OK?

The only answer that feels true (I said feels, not is) is that yes, the character Minnie is me, but she is not me. She is a projection of some tumult which originates within me, but she is not me. I use elements of myself, including my likeness, for the character, perhaps as Cindy Sherman uses herself in her work, but like Sherman's photographs, the work itself is not any more about the creator than it is about everyone. I won't deny that Minnie does things I have done, and that things happen to her that have happened to me, but she, unlike me, having been created, is who she is and will remain so, unchanged now. I make no attempt to create "documentary." There is a process of dissociation that takes place when I make a story, I make creative decisions in a fugue state that I could hardly describe to you, but the end result is, I hope, a story with some meaning or resonance, something created, with a beginning, a middle and an end, an encapsulation of feeling and impression, but in no way a documentary of anything other than an "emotional truth."

If I told most interviewers that my work is "true" and that it is based on real events that occurred in my life, they would more readily accept this than they do the explanation I try to ~ Phoebe Gloeckner
Lust Of Life quotes by Phoebe Gloeckner
Great God of wonders, the Creator of all dreams. ~ Lailah Gifty Akita
Lust Of Life quotes by Lailah Gifty Akita
It is okay to date and experience all the excitement, thrills, and passion that romance offers, but let the love of your life be yourself. ~ Jenna Alatari
Lust Of Life quotes by Jenna Alatari
I cannot imagine the type of sinister fiend who would be against the library. A library essentially says, 'Look, here is some free information that will enrich your life. Read it on your own time. I trust that you will bring it back when you are finished.' It might be the most civilized, forward-thinking institution in America. Perhaps the only one, in fact. ~ Chuck Klosterman
Lust Of Life quotes by Chuck Klosterman
Whenever we need to make a very important decision it is best to trust our instincts, because reason usually tries to remove us from our dream, saying that the time is not yet right. Reason is afraid of defeat, but intuition enjoys life and its challenges. ~ Paulo Coelho
Lust Of Life quotes by Paulo Coelho
Every house on the street had some sort of decorations, including one house with a life-sized Santa on the roof being led by blow-up dragons instead of reindeer. ~ Katie Reus
Lust Of Life quotes by Katie Reus
...this life is a fist
of fast wishes caught by nothing
but the fishhook of tomorrow's tug. ~ Ada Limon
Lust Of Life quotes by Ada Limon
He could seek no object in life now, because now he had faith - not faith in any sort of principles, or words, or ideas, but faith in a living, ever-palpable God. In old days he had sought Him in the aims he set before himself. That search for an object in life had been only a seeking after God; and all at once in his captivity he had come to know, not through words or arguments, but by his own immediate feeling, what his old nurse had told him long before; that God is here, and everywhere. In his captivity he had come to see that the God in Karataev was grander, more infinite, and more unfathomable than the Architect of the Universe recognised by the masons. He felt like a man who finds what he has sought at his feet, when he has been straining his eyes to seek it in the distance. All his life he had been looking far away over the heads of all around him, while he need not have strained his eyes, but had only to look in front of him.

In old days he had been unable to see the great, the unfathomable, and the infinite in anything. He had only felt that it must be somewhere, and had been seeking it. In everything near and comprehensible, he had seen only what was limited, petty, everyday, and meaningless. He had armed himself with the telescope of intellect, and gazed far away into the distance, where that petty, everyday world, hidden in the mists of distance, had seemed to him great and infinite, simply because it was not clearly seen. Such had been European life, ~ Leo Tolstoy
Lust Of Life quotes by Leo Tolstoy
Circe, he says, it will be all right.

It is not the saying of an oracle or a prophet. ... He does not mean that it does not hurt. He does not mean that we are not frightened. Only that: we are here. This is what it means to swim in the tide, to walk the earth and feel it touch your feet. This is what is means to be alive. ~ Madeline Miller
