Out the corner of my eye I see Packard fly at Marty, pin him against the wall. "You do not do that! You do not!" He jerks Marty with every *not*. "You do *not* disrespect that woman, you understand me?" Packard speaks through his teeth, as if to bite back his fury. "It was your goddamn *lucky* day she decided to come in here. And you would spit at her? You were *privileged* she came in here! ~ Carolyn Crane
Lucky Day quotes by Carolyn Crane
The best luck of all is the luck you make for yourself. ~ Douglas MacArthur

I brought us all Big Macs," he said happily. "I know you dig 'em, remember?" "What the ... " Tohr tightened his grip on his shellan, just in case ... well, shit, with the way things were going lately, anything could happen. "What are you doing here?" "It's your lucky day, motherfucker. ~ J.R. Ward

Have you ever been spanked?' he asked me. 'No,' I replied. 'Well, this is your lucky day. ~ Chloe Thurlow
Lucky Day quotes by Chloe Thurlow
January 8 has been a lucky day for me. I have started all my books on that day, and all of them have been well received by the readers. I write eight to ten hours a day until I have a first draft, then I can relax a little. I am very disciplined. I write in silence and solitude. I light a candle to call inspiration and the muses, and I surround myself with pictures of the people I love, dead and alive. ~ Isabel Allende
Lucky Day quotes by Isabel Allende
The highest kind of writing - which must not be confused with
the most ambitious kind ... belongs to the realm of grace. Talent is
part of it, certainly; a thorough understanding of the secret laws,
absolutely. But finding the subject and theme which is in perfect
harmony with your deepest nature, your forgotten selves, your hidden
dreams, and the full unresonated essence of your life - now that
cannot be reached through searching, nor can it be stumbled upon
through ambition. That sort of serendipity comes upon you on a
lucky day. It may emerge even out of misfortune or defeat. You may
happen upon it without realising that this is the work through
which your whole life will sing. We should always be ready. We
should always be humble. Creativity should always be a form of
prayer. ~ Ben Okri
Lucky Day quotes by Ben Okri
I paid you five thousand instead and promised the balance only if you made the match. As it turns out, this is your lucky day because I've decided to write you the full check, whether the match comes from you or from Portia. As long as I have a wife and you've been part of the process, you'll get your money." He toasted her with his beer mug. "Congratulations."

She put down her fork. "Why would you do that?"

"Because it's efficient."

"Not as efficient as having Powers handle her own introductions. You're paying her a fortune to do exactly that."

"I'd rather have you."

Her pulse kicked. "Why?"

He gave her the melty smile he must have been practicing since the cradle, one that made her feel as though she was the only woman in the world. "Because you're easier to bully. Do we have a deal or not?"

"You don't want a matchmaker. You want a lackey."

"Semantics. My hours are erratic, and my schedule changes without warning. It'll be your job to cope with all that. You'll soothe ruffled feathers when I need to cancel at the last minute. You'll keep my dates company when I'm going to be late, entertain them if I have to take a call. If things are going well, you'll disappear. If not, you'll make the woman disappear. I told you before. I work hard at my job. I don't want to have to work hard at this, too."

"Basically, you expect me to find your bride, court her, and hand her over at the al ~ Susan Elizabeth Phillips
Lucky Day quotes by Susan Elizabeth Phillips
Boy, this is your lucky day!" She clapped her hands. "You found yourself a librarian! I can help wit the figuring-out thing and point you toward some good poetry while I'm at it. It's what I do. ~ Joe Hill
Lucky Day quotes by Joe Hill
Let's play double or nothing... you beat me... fair... now let's play again, let's see was that your lucky day or not!? ~ Deyth Banger
Lucky Day quotes by Deyth Banger

Lucky Day quotes by Ovid
Fools wait for a lucky day, but everyday is a lucky day for an industrious man. ~ Gautama Buddha
Lucky Day quotes by Gautama Buddha
Never put your money against Cassius Clay, for you will never have a lucky day. ~ Muhammad Ali
Lucky Day quotes by Muhammad Ali
After absorbing the news of today, one expects to face a world consisting entirely of strikes, crimes, power failures, broken water mains, stalled trains, school shutdowns, muggers, drug addicts, neo-Nazis, and rapists. The fact is that one can come home in the evening, on a lucky day, without having encountered more than one or two of these phenomena. ~ Barbara Tuchman
Lucky Day quotes by Barbara Tuchman
Nice for Freddie," she said. "Whoever he is. I'm Sophie, Lulu's sister." "Nice for you," he said. "Are you the sister who's getting married?" "No, I'm the one who is still available." She perched herself on the counter and swung her legs. "So, it's your lucky day, isn't it?" "Do you know," he said slowly, "I'm beginning to think it is." It was the sort of thing that men were always saying to Sophie, but not, thought Lulu crossly, the sort that generally made her gape and goggle at Lulu like a demented hen who had just won the lottery ticket, It was a couple of moments before she realized that Liam was looking, not at Sophie, but at her. ~ Gabrielle Donnelly
Lucky Day quotes by Gabrielle Donnelly
I may be wearing the world's ugliest khaki shorts, and I may have just had a total mental breakdown in front of a really hot guy, but at least I don't have to humiliate myself in front of tourists. It's my lucky day. ~ Jessica Pennington
Lucky Day quotes by Jessica Pennington
No-one likes being told it's their lucky day. That sort of thing does not bode well. When someone tells you it's your lucky day, something bad is about to happen. ~ Terry Pratchett
Lucky Day quotes by Terry Pratchett
I love fortune readings! because when I get in troubles, if the reading says that I am in a lucky day, I can think my troubles are just some kind of mistakes, and if the reading says that I am in the unlucky day, I can think that my troubles are just because of my bad luck. Either ways, I can know the reason of my troubles. ~ Hiroko Sakai
Lucky Day quotes by Hiroko Sakai
It might not feel like it," the cop says, "but, Cooper, today is your lucky day. ~ David Levithan
Lucky Day quotes by David Levithan
You make your Own luck. ~ Neale Donald Walsch
Lucky Day quotes by Neale Donald Walsch
Half our family does seem to owe you their lives, now I stop and think about it," Mr. Weasley said in a constricted voice. "Well, all I can say is that it was a lucky day for the Weasleys when Ron decided to sit in your compartment on the Hogwarts Express, Harry. ~ J.K. Rowling
Lucky Day quotes by J.K. Rowling
Disaster is rarely as pervasive as it seems from recorded accounts. The fact of being on the record makes it appear continuous and ubiquitous whereas it is more likely to have been sporadic both in time and place. Besides, persistence of the normal is usually greater than the effect of the disturbance, as we know from our own times. After absorbing the news of today, one expects to face a world consisting entirely of strikes, crimes, power failures, broken water mains, stalled trains, school shutdowns, muggers, drug addicts, neo-Nazis, and rapists. The fact is that one can come home in the evening
on a lucky day
without having encountered more than one or two of these phenomena. This has led me to formulate Tuchman's Law, as follows: "The fact of being reported multiplies the apparent extent of any deplorable development by five- to tenfold" (or any figure the reader would care to supply). ~ Barbara W. Tuchman
Lucky Day quotes by Barbara W. Tuchman
A lot of times I wind up playing songs like (Alice in Chains') "Down in a Hole" that make me scream at the top of my lungs if I want to get frustration out from a bad day. ~ Bronson Arroyo
Lucky Day quotes by Bronson Arroyo
I was still an avid reader of Mills & Boon romances - on publication day, I used to rush out of work to get to the local book store to grab my favourites before they all disappeared. ~ Penny Jordan
Lucky Day quotes by Penny Jordan
I try to manage my day by my circadian rhythms because the creativity is such an elusive thing, and I could easily just stomp over it doing my administrative stuff. ~ Scott Adams
Lucky Day quotes by Scott Adams
Hear how the birds, on ev'ry blooming spray, With joyous musick wake the dawning day. ~ Alexander Pope
Lucky Day quotes by Alexander Pope
On a good day, my style is librarian chic. On a bad day, it's frumpy mother. ~ Cassandra Page
Lucky Day quotes by Cassandra Page
When I pick up the ball and it feels nice and light and small I know I'm going to have a good day. But if I picked it up and it's big and heavy, I know I'm liable to get into a little trouble. ~ Bob Feller
Lucky Day quotes by Bob Feller
Battles are fought in our minds every day. When we begin to feel the battle is just too difficult and want to give up, we must choose to resist negative thoughts and be determined to rise above our problems. We must decide that we're not going to quit. When we're bombarded with doubts and fears, we must take a stand and say: "I'll never give up! God's on my side. He loves me, and He's helping me! I'm going to make it!" ~ Joyce Meyer
Lucky Day quotes by Joyce Meyer
During the sole argument we had when [Chelsea] was in high school, the subject of which I don't even remember, I looked at her and said, 'As long as you're in this house, being president is my second most important job'. ~ William J. Clinton
Lucky Day quotes by William J. Clinton
It was the possibility of darkness that made the day seem so bright. ~ Stephen King
Lucky Day quotes by Stephen King
The lonesome dark.
That's what Jack called a night like this. When you were distanced from everything and everybody. Out on your own and there was nobody to care if you were happy or sad. If you lived or died.
The lonesome dark hadn't existed in the old days. That was something people invented. Like time. Parcel up the days, parcel up the seasons. Add a minute here, a day there when it doesn't quite fit. Trim the square peg so that you could slide it into the round hole. In the old days the night was as open as the day. It wasn't a better place to hide because there was nothing to hide from. You weren't outside because there was no in. ~ Charles De Lint
Lucky Day quotes by Charles De Lint
Forgiveness is that subtle thread that binds both love and friendship. Without forgiveness, you may not even have a child one day. ~ George Foreman
Lucky Day quotes by George Foreman
It's what I'll do now. It's what I'll do tomorrow and the next day. For however long this fight goes on. Just stand up. And I rise slowly to my feet. Heavy and shackled with weight. I still move. ~ Krista Ritchie
Lucky Day quotes by Krista Ritchie
For the Vanderbilts lived in a day when flaunting one's money was not only accepted but celebrated. What may have started as playacting, as dressing up as dukes and princesses for fancy dress balls in fairytale palaces, soon developed into a firm conviction that they were indeed the new American nobility. ~ Arthur T. Vanderbilt II
Lucky Day quotes by Arthur T. Vanderbilt II
The politics of partisanship and the resulting inaction and excuses have paralyzed decision-making, primarily at the federal level, and the big issues of the day are not being addressed, leaving our future in jeopardy. ~ Michael Bloomberg
Lucky Day quotes by Michael Bloomberg
Knowing Chris was getting married, his fellow Team members decided that they had to send him off with a proper SEAL bachelor party. That meant getting him drunk, of course. It also meant writing all over him with permanent markers-an indelible celebration, to be sure.
Fortunately, they liked him, so his face wasn't marked up-not by them, at least; he'd torn his eyebrow and scratched his lip during training. Under his clothes, he looked quite the sight. And the words wouldn't come off no matter how he, or I scrubbed.
I pretended to be horrified, but honestly, that didn't bother me much. I was just happy to have him with me, and very excited to be spending the rest of my life with the man I loved.
It's funny, the things you get obsessed about. Days before the wedding, I spent forty-five minutes picking out exactly the right shape of lipstick, splurging on expensive cosmetics-then forgot to take it with me the morning of the wedding. My poor sister and mom had to run to Walgreens for a substitute; they came back with five different shades, not one of which matched the one I'd picked out.
Did it matter? Not at all, although I still remember the vivid marks the lipstick made when I kissed him on the cheek-marking my man.
Lipstick, location, time of day-none of that mattered in the end. What did matter were our families and friends, who came in for the ceremony. Chris liked my parents, and vice versa. I truly loved his mom and dad.
I have a photo from ~ Taya Kyle
Lucky Day quotes by Taya Kyle
I'm not stronger than anybody. I mean, physically, I can do three pull-ups, so I'm stronger than some people, but emotionally, I'm the same as anyone else. This strength isn't superhuman. It's the most human thing of all, a muscle we're all born with but need to exercise rarely at best. And lucky for us, it's a tenacious little thing that bounces back from atrophy as soon as you need to flex it. ~ Nora McInerny Purmort
Lucky Day quotes by Nora McInerny Purmort
And then one day, one of my daughters sat me down and told me that even though he was gone, I wasn't. That it was time to find a new life for myself. ~ Brenda Rothert
Lucky Day quotes by Brenda Rothert
David Cameron was a good-looking chap in his day! ~ Douglas Booth
Lucky Day quotes by Douglas Booth
What is it about being married you miss?' Alan asked.

'Well, I miss my wife, you know," I said. 'But I also miss the feeling of, I don't know, comfort. The sense you're where you're supposed to be, with someone you're supposed to be with. I sure as hell don't feel that out here. We go places that we have to fight for, with people who might be dead the next day or the day after that. No offense.'

'None taken,' Keyes said.

'There's no stable ground out here,' I said. 'There's nothing out here I feel really safe about. My marriage had its ups and downs like anyone's, but when it came down to it, I knew it was solid. I miss that sort of security, and that sort of connection with someone. Part of what makes us human is what we mean to other people, and what people mean to us. I miss meaning something to someone, having that part of being human. That's what I miss about marriage. ~ John Scalzi
Lucky Day quotes by John Scalzi
Time, since that day has remained still. And I've dreamt of you and the sky, since that day... ~ CLAMP
Lucky Day quotes by CLAMP
Usually, Marilyn Norton loved the hot weather, but she was having a tough time with it, nine months pregnant, with her due date in two days. She was expecting her second child, another boy, and he was going to be a big one. She could hardly move in the heat, and her ankles and feet were so swollen that all she had been able to get her feet into were rubber flip-flops. She was wearing huge white shorts that were too tight on her now, and a white T-shirt of her husband's that outlined her belly. She had nothing left to wear that still fit, but the baby would arrive soon. She was just glad that she had made it to the first day of school with Billy. He had been nervous about his new school, and she wanted to be there with him. ~ Danielle Steel
Lucky Day quotes by Danielle Steel
In tribal times, there were the medicine men. In the Middle Ages, there were the priests. Today, there are the lawyers. For every age, a group of bright boys, learned in their trades and jealous of their learning, who blend technical competence with plain and fancy hocus-pocus to make themselves masters of their fellow men. For every age, a pseudo-intellectual autocracy, guarding the tricks of the trade from the uninitiated, and running, after its own pattern, the civilization of its day. ~ Fred Rodell
Lucky Day quotes by Fred Rodell
A day without someone to hold you or a day without someone to share, is a day easily forgotten.' - Vera Richardson in Mr Alhourani's Dead Man's Spots ~ D.M. Lee
Lucky Day quotes by D.M. Lee
Children are the only people who accept a mood of wonderment, who are ready to welcome a perfect miracle at any hour of the day or night. Only a child can entertain an angel unawares, or to meet Sir Launcelot in shining armor on a moonlit road. ~ Kenneth Grahame
Lucky Day quotes by Kenneth Grahame
I had two passions when I was a child. First was to learn about Einstein's theory and help to complete his dream of a unified theory of everything. That's my day job. I work in something called string theory. I'm one of the founders of the subject. We hope to complete Einstein's dream of a theory of everything. ~ Michio Kaku
Lucky Day quotes by Michio Kaku
I cannot go through all my thoughts, so as to make them clear to you, nor have I ever dwelt on things, to shape a story of them. I know not where the beginning was, nor where the middle ought to be, nor even how at the present time I feel, or think, or ought to think. If I look for help to those around me, who should tell me right and wrong (being older and much wiser), I meet sometimes with laughter, and at other times with anger...
...I think; and nothing ever comes of it. Nothing, I mean, which I can grasp, and have with any surety; nothing but faint images, and wonderment, and wandering...
...Often too I wonder at the odds of fortune, which made me (helpless as I am, and fond of peace, and reading), the heiress of this mad domain...
...You must be tired of this story, and the time I take to think, and the weariness of my telling; but my life from day to day shows so little variance. Among the riders there is none whose safe return I watch for- I mean none more than any other- and indeed there seems no risk... ~ R.D. Blackmore
Lucky Day quotes by R.D. Blackmore
Maybe, if I were very, very, very lucky, I would somehow be able to save Edward. But I wasn't so stupid as to think that saving him would mean that I could stay with him. I was no different, no more special than I'd been before. There would be no new reason for him to want me now. Seeing him and losing him again ...
I fought back against the pain. This was the price I had to pay to save his life. I would pay it. ~ Stephenie Meyer
Lucky Day quotes by Stephenie Meyer
I still have a dream today that one day war will come to an end, that men will beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks, that nations will no longer rise up against nations, neither will they study war any more. ~ Martin Luther King, Jr.
Lucky Day quotes by Martin Luther King, Jr.
The most frustrating thing for me as a singer is that people have pinpointed me as an actress who suddenly woke up one day and decided that I wanted to sing. ~ Marla Sokoloff
Lucky Day quotes by Marla Sokoloff
I had this perfect situation where my studio was a three-minute walk away, and every day I would go to the studio. If I had an idea, I could work on it at the highest level possible. ~ St. Lucia
Lucky Day quotes by St. Lucia
I think my work is optimistic - as much as it is pathetic and funny and sad and ridiculous, at the end of the day it's about the hope that something will go right, and the constant wishing for a world where things might start to make sense. ~ Laurel Nakadate
Lucky Day quotes by Laurel Nakadate
There's an appreciation of the whole picture of life as opposed to just ambition and circumstance and all the stuff that happens in this business. You find yourself lucky enough to be working with somebody really talented who you know and who you trust. ~ Wayne Knight
Lucky Day quotes by Wayne Knight
The Islamic State's leaders proclaimed the establishment of God's kingdom on earth, called the caliphate. Prophecy was fulfilled, they said, and Judgment Day approached. ~ William McCants
Lucky Day quotes by William McCants
Late in the day, she found a folded piece of paper in her pocket. She recognized August's handwriting. A fragment for my friend - If your soul left this earth I would follow and find you Silent, my starship suspended in night She'd never seen his poetry before and was impossibly moved by it. "Thank you," she said when she saw him next. He nodded. ~ Emily St. John Mandel
Lucky Day quotes by Emily St. John Mandel
I mean, the Constitution of this country was written 200 years ago. The house I was living in in Madrid is 350 years old! America is still a project, and you guys are working on it and bringing new things to it every day. That is beautiful to watch. ~ Antonio Banderas
