A good laughter is as uplifting as a good teaching, for it is simply meditation. ~ Abhijit Naskar
Laughter Thought quotes by Abhijit Naskar
She stopped and looked at him when she heard a low growl.
"You've kissed someone?"
Sally tried to hold back the snort of laughter that bubble out. "Of course. I'm eighteen, Costin. Only having kissed one guy by eighteen is pretty darn conservative."
"I don't want to know about this guy," Costin frowned. "He won't hold a candle to my kisses anyway. ~ Quinn Loftis
Laughter Thought quotes by Quinn Loftis
Wolves shall succeed for teachers, grievous wolves,
Who all the sacred mysteries of Heaven
To their own vile advantages shall turn
Of lucre and ambition, and the truth
With superstitions and traditions taint,
Left only in those written records pure,
Thought not but by the spirit understood. ~ John Milton
Laughter Thought quotes by John Milton
A film goes through so many hands, that by the time it's done, it might not resemble what you thought you were making. ~ Ryan Phillippe
Laughter Thought quotes by Ryan Phillippe
The thought of [our] destruction is like a light in the middle of the night that spreads its flames on the objects it will soon consume. We must get used to contemplating this light, since it announces nothing that has not been prepared by all that comes before; and since death is as natural as life, why should be so afraid of it? ~ Denis Diderot
Laughter Thought quotes by Denis Diderot
his crying turned to quick, stabbing sobs. I must look for my family. I must search until I find them, wherever they are, he thought. ~ Arnold Ytreeide
Laughter Thought quotes by Arnold Ytreeide
Poetry invades loneliness in a way that nothing else can. I thought that if I changed that people, beautiful people, arrogant people, narcissists, intellectuals, readers, teachers, spiritual gurus would come into my life but they did not. I am still rowing my boat ashore. It still feels like Hiroshima out there. ~ Abigail George
Laughter Thought quotes by Abigail George
If I have to sacrifice to give you everything you want, if I have to change who I am, whatever I have to do - tell me. It's done. I can't believe I thought I could live without you. ~ Kendall Ryan
Laughter Thought quotes by Kendall Ryan
I've got to find a compromise where I don't feel compromised. I've got to find something equally good that they don't feel uncomfortable with. At a certain point, it's no longer about what I thought was right, but it's about this new discovery that happens with the actors. It's nice when the actor is also a writer. ~ Harold Ramis
Laughter Thought quotes by Harold Ramis
Many of my colleagues operate from a mistaken notion that rational thought can come from only objective discourse, devoid of emotions. To me, speaking from the heart and with passion is not antagonistic to reason. ~ David Sue
Laughter Thought quotes by David Sue
I might attempt Zumba. I haven't yet, but I thought it would be a lot of fun and different. ~ Jackie Joyner-Kersee
Laughter Thought quotes by Jackie Joyner-Kersee
One simple thing to do and destroy the spirit of self-sabotage is to admire the beauty hidden in ugly circumstances. ~ Israelmore Ayivor
Laughter Thought quotes by Israelmore Ayivor
I jammed my hand in my jacket pocket, bracing myself fo the next hit, and fel something. Something grainy and samll, sticking to the tips of my fingers: the sand from Commons Park.
Oh Cass, I thought. I miss you so, so much. ~ Sarah Dessen
Laughter Thought quotes by Sarah Dessen
You would have thought that I had left 11 corpses on the steps of a funeral home. ~ Alex Ferguson
Laughter Thought quotes by Alex Ferguson
He has come to be the great man he thought he wanted to be. If this is true, then he is not a man. He is still a little boy and wants the moon. ~ John Steinbeck
Laughter Thought quotes by John Steinbeck
For I dance
And drink and sing,
Till some blind hand Shall brush my wing.
If thought is life
And strength and breath
And the want
Of thought is death
Then am I
A happy fly
If I live
Or if I die ~ William Blake
Laughter Thought quotes by William Blake
Had it been published by a voice from heaven, that twelve poor men, taken out of boats and creeks, without any help of learning, should conquer the world to the cross, it might have been thought an illusion against all reason of men; yet we know it was undertaken and accomplished by them. ~ Stephen Charnock
Laughter Thought quotes by Stephen Charnock
I perceived or thought of the Light of God and in it suspended one small mote (or millions of motes to only one of which was my small mind directed), glittering white because of the individual ray from the Light which both held and lit it ... And the ray was the Guardian Angel of the mote: not a thing interposed between God and the creature, but God's very attention itself, personalized ... This is a finite parallel to the Infinite. As the love of the Father and Son (who are infinite and equal) is a Person, so the love and attention of the Light to the Mote is a person (that is both with us and in Heaven): finite but divine, i.e. angelic. ~ J.R.R. Tolkien
Laughter Thought quotes by J.R.R. Tolkien
I've never had a yard sale, ever, in my life. I don't know if I ever thought about stuff I would get rid of. ~ Will Ferrell
Laughter Thought quotes by Will Ferrell
When the leader grows, the organization grows. ~ Israelmore Ayivor
Laughter Thought quotes by Israelmore Ayivor
Let every thought come and hug you, but you don't hug anything. Then, gradually, the noise will start to back off. ~ Mooji
Laughter Thought quotes by Mooji
STEALING THE CAR, I WOULDN'T HAVE BEEN SURPRISED IF THEY'D EXPELLED YOU, YOU WAIT TILL I GET HOLD OF YOU, I DON'T SUPPOSE YOU STOPPED TO THINK WHAT YOUR FATHER AND I WENT THROUGH
WHEN WE SAW IT WAS GONE - "
Mrs. Weasley's yells, a hundred times louder than usual, made the plates and spoons rattle on the table, and echoed deafeningly off the stone walls. People throughout the hall were swiveling around to see who had received the Howler, and Ron sank so low in his chair that only his crimson forehead could be seen.
" - LETTER FROM DUMBLEDORE LAST NIGHT, I THOUGHT YOUR FATHER WOULD DIE OF SHAME, WE DIDN'T BRING YOU UP TO BEHAVE LIKE THIS, YOU AND HARRY COULD BOTH HAVE DIED - "
Harry had been wondering when his name was going to crop up. He tried very hard to look as though he couldn't hear the voice that was making his eardrums throb.
" - ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTED - YOUR FATHER'S FACING AN INQUIRY AT WORK, IT'S ENTIRELY YOUR FAULT AND IF YOU PUT ANOTHER TOE OUT OF LINE WE'LL BRING YOU STRAIGHT BACK HOME."
A ringing silence fell. ~ J.K. Rowling
Laughter Thought quotes by J.K. Rowling
As an example of just how useless these philosophers are for any practice in life there is Socrates himself, the one and only wise man, according to the Delphic Oracle. Whenever he tried to do anything in public he had to break off amid general laughter. While he was philosophizing about clouds and ideas, measuring a flea's foot and marveling at a midge's humming, he learned nothing about the affairs of ordinary life. ~ Desiderius Erasmus
Laughter Thought quotes by Desiderius Erasmus
Sometimes I have thought that human misery goes far beyond human imagination, - imagination has its limits, and misery, like the vast seas, appears to be without end. ~ Henryk Sienkiewicz
Laughter Thought quotes by Henryk Sienkiewicz
Science is empirical, all about physical senses that tell us about the world. But physical senses are not the only senses we have. Nobody has ever seen a thought. Nobody has ever seen a feeling. And yet thoughts and feelings are where we live our lives most immediately, and science cannot connect with that. ~ Huston Smith
Laughter Thought quotes by Huston Smith
I was a big Mickey Rourke fan in his first incarnation. I thought that at the time he was America's greatest screen actor. ~ Jamie Sives
Laughter Thought quotes by Jamie Sives
Be comforted with this divine thought that your spiritual and physical pains are the test of the Divine Will. ~ Pio Of Pietrelcina
Laughter Thought quotes by Pio Of Pietrelcina
Moments like that, I thought maybe there was a God, a fickle puppet-master who decided it was time to remind us that life isn't just an echo of the Big Bang - that we're here, with beating hearts. ~ Vikki Wakefield
Laughter Thought quotes by Vikki Wakefield
Throw the word "bargain" around a few times, and people will swarm the tiredest old dreck like bees in search of a new hive. Or maybe locusts, ready to strip the place bare. They even buzzed like swarming insects. Voices raised in conversation and laughter, plus the occasional shrieks of a tired child, formed a background roar that still failed to drown out the tired tinkle of Christmas music piped over the top. I'd only been here ten minutes and already I'd heard White Christmas twice. Two times too many in my book. ~ Marina Finlayson
Laughter Thought quotes by Marina Finlayson
But oh, how wonderful, he thought, if everything you talked about could come true! ~ Betty Smith
Laughter Thought quotes by Betty Smith
I do feel immigration will probably be dealt with as long as [the solution] doesn't provide amnesty ... Five years ago, all hell broke loose ... This year, I thought phones would ring off the hook again. They really haven't. I think everybody realizes we have a problem. ~ Johnny Isakson
Laughter Thought quotes by Johnny Isakson
I thought I knew what love meant to me
About decency, care and honesty
It is my lesson, you see
That true love doesn't only feel good physically ~ Elise Icten
Laughter Thought quotes by Elise Icten
I have missed you so much I could kiss you," he whispered.
September's face fell. "Oh, but Saturday! I've had my First Kiss and I didn't mean to, I didn't want to, but your shadow is very rude and impulsive, and he took it before I could say two words! And I've had my second and third and maybe fifth, too. Come to think of it, this has all involved rather a lot of kissing."
Saturday furrowed his brow. "Why should I care about your First Kiss?" he said. "You can kiss anyone you like. But if you sometimes wanted to kiss me, that would be all right, too." His blush was so deep September could feel the heat of it.
She leaned in, and kissed her Marid gently, sweetly. She tried to kiss him the way she'd always thought kisses would be. His lips tasted like the sea. ~ Catherynne M Valente
Laughter Thought quotes by Catherynne M Valente
Heraclitus, Empedocles, and Parmenides all state or suggest that thinking the right kinds of thoughts positively transforms our relationship to our environment. If thoughts are the right kind, it is presumably because they build on the particular receptivity of human nature to true knowledge about the nature of things, knowledge that, in turn, brings the person into greater harmony with the world around him. Thought is thus a uniquely transformative encounter with reality. ~ Brooke Holmes
Laughter Thought quotes by Brooke Holmes
The country was at war, but for most people the war was more an idea than an experience, and I felt something between anger and shame that Americans - that I - could sometimes ignore its impact for days at a time. In Croatia, life in wartime had meant a loss of control, war holding sway over every thought and movement, even while you slept. ~ Sara Novic
Laughter Thought quotes by Sara Novic
Jake and Hunter will make you forget all other book boyfriends you thought you loved! ~ Scarlett Avery
Laughter Thought quotes by Scarlett Avery
I thought you lot brought a buildin' down on 'is 'ead."
"We did," Sam replied before she could. "I don't think it took. ~ Kady Cross
Laughter Thought quotes by Kady Cross
She had been a friend and companion such as few possessed: intelligent, well-informed, useful, gentle, knowing all the ways of the family, interested in all its concerns, and peculiarly interested in herself, in every pleasure, every scheme of hers
one to whom she could speak every thought as it arose, and who had such an affection for her as could never find fault. ~ Jane Austen
Laughter Thought quotes by Jane Austen
As for the danger of alienating people with good intentions - well, one of the things that I learned from RaceFail (and also from general experience) was that people with good intentions are the ones to fear most. The overt racists are easy to deal with. You can spot them coming a mile away. But the well-intentioned people are scarier. They might not intend harm, but in most cases they haven't thought about all the racist (and other "-ist") messages they've absorbed from society. They haven't done the basic groundwork necessary to purge themselves of that passively-absorbed "-ism". So they say the most incredibly hurtful, self-absorbed, and utterly useless things, then compound the problem by getting upset when they're called on it. I liken these people to sleeper agents - they seem OK at first, but then they suddenly "activate" and stab you in the back, and then they come out of their fugue and freak because there's blood on their hands and they don't know how it got there and they refuse to accept that they're the ones who put it there, OMG, OMG. Meanwhile, you're on the floor bleeding out, unnoticed because of their histrionics.

The rage of RaceFail made many of these well-intentioned sleeper agents wake up. So while yes, I think the anger risked alienating some of them, I'm fine with that. They were always dangerous; I haven't lost anything by their alienation. The ones who wake up are a gain (or they will be, once they shift from "not causing harm" anymore ~ N.K. Jemisin
Laughter Thought quotes by N.K. Jemisin
The loss of something that is never thought of, felt, or sought for when lost is not a loss at all. ~ Ravi Zacharias
Laughter Thought quotes by Ravi Zacharias
Words never fail. We hear them, we read them; they enter into the mind and become part of us for as long as we shall live. Who speaks reason to his fellowmen bestows it upon them. Who mouths inanity disorders thought for all who listen. There must be some minimum allowable dose of inanity beyond which the mind cannot remain reasonable. Irrationality, like buried chemical waste, sooner or later must seep into all the tissues of thought. ~ Richard Mitchell
Laughter Thought quotes by Richard Mitchell
I knew that Clara kept Carax's book in a glass cabinet by the arch of the balcony. I crept up to it. My plan, or my lack of it, was to lay my hands on the book, take it out of there, give it to that lunatic, and lose sight of him forever after. Nobody would notice the book's absence, except me. Carax's book was waiting for me, as it always did, its spine just visible at the end of a shelf. I took it in my hands and pressed it against my chest, as if embracing an old friend whom I was about to betray. Judas, I thought. I decided to leave the place without making Clara aware of my presence. I would take the book and disappear from Clara's life forever. Quietly, I stepped out of the library. The door of her bedroom was just visible at the end of the corridor ... I walked slowly up to the door. I put my fingers on the doorknob. My fingers trembled. I had arrived too late. I swallowed hard and opened the door. ~ Carlos Ruiz Zafon
Laughter Thought quotes by Carlos Ruiz Zafon
When you're in the middle of a nightmare, something ordinary is the only hope. Anyway, ordinary things are the best. I've always thought so. ~ Agatha Christie
Laughter Thought quotes by Agatha Christie
Self-determination has to mean that the leader is your individual gut, and heart, and mind or we're talking about power, again, and its rather well-known impurities. Who is really going to care whether you live or die and who is going to know the most intimate motivation for your laughter and your tears is the only person to be trusted to speak for you and to decide what you will or will not do. ~ June Jordan
Laughter Thought quotes by June Jordan
I thought how sadly beauty of inscape was unknown and buried away from simple people and yet how near at hand it was if they had eyes to see it and it could be called out everywhere again. ~ Gerard Manley Hopkins
Laughter Thought quotes by Gerard Manley Hopkins
I have always said the French team is the most important thing that has happened to me. I thought deeply about it and I want to play for France again. ~ Zinedine Zidane
Laughter Thought quotes by Zinedine Zidane
Regardless of others' reactions, do your best to stay true to yourself. Make the choices that allow you to look in the mirror and feel good about the person gazing back at you. ~ Steve Pavlina
