Those who turn the instruments of science upon Nature will always be in danger of seeing more than they looked for. There is such a disaster as that of knowing too much, and at some time or another it may overtake each of us. ~ E.G. Swain
Knowing Too Much quotes by E.G. Swain
We are still focussing too much on gender. If we all just gave ourselves a break, knowing that we could all be everything, we'd feel relieved and more equal. ~ Gemma Cairney
Knowing Too Much quotes by Gemma Cairney
I totally agree. I hate knowing too much when I'm going to the cinema and watching as a viewer. I don't want to know that the actor has just gone through a divorce. I don't want to know that the person is an alcoholic. It just gets in the way of my pleasure of watching the character on the screen. ~ Keira Knightley
Knowing Too Much quotes by Keira Knightley
When we were growing up and saw a Ray Harryhausen movie, we were interested in how it was done. But thank God we got to go through the magic of seeing it before we knew how it was done. You were able to get this beautiful, pure, visceral response to something without knowing too much about it. ~ Tim Burton
Knowing Too Much quotes by Tim Burton
I always worry that knowing too much about a novel or a story early on in writing will close it down - it feels fatalistic in some way. ~ Dan Chaon
Knowing Too Much quotes by Dan Chaon
Isn't that wonderful? That feeling of not knowing too much about something ... Incomplete information ... Endless possibilities ... When you don't know much about something, it's the most exciting sensation.
-Kutsnetz in TALUS ~ Erol Ozan
Knowing Too Much quotes by Erol Ozan
Knowing too much about other people puts you in their power, they have a claim on you, you are forced to understand their reasons for doing things and then you are weakened. ~ Margaret Atwood
Knowing Too Much quotes by Margaret Atwood
I'm not a big fan of people knowing too much about me. ~ Matthew Lewis
Knowing Too Much quotes by Matthew Lewis
The struggle in attaining our highest success and happiness is not beheld in "not knowing enough" ... but in knowing too much... yet at the same time, applying very little... still! ~ Sean Azimov
Knowing Too Much quotes by Sean Azimov
You were the only one
who understood
the futility of the
arrangement of
life;
all the others were only
displeased with
trivial segments,
carped
nonsensically about
nonsense;
Jane, you were
killed by
knowing too much. ~ Charles Bukowski
Knowing Too Much quotes by Charles Bukowski
Weary of knowing too much and understanding too little. ~ Kate Morton
Knowing Too Much quotes by Kate Morton
But you know me-I'm an information magpie, always interested in shiny bits of intel. I've never gotten in trouble because of knowing too much. ~ Tim Pratt
Knowing Too Much quotes by Tim Pratt
I firmly believe that knowing too much too soon can color your performance in a not good way. I just don't want to know until I need to know. ~ Joshua Morrow
Knowing Too Much quotes by Joshua Morrow
Knowledge is a rope, and you're weaving a noose out of it. Leave some slack for the enemy. ~ Nenia Campbell
Knowing Too Much quotes by Nenia Campbell
There is not the slightest danger of women becoming too intellectual or knowing too much. Neither is there any danger of men knowing too much. At least, I know of no men who are in immediate peril from that source. ~ Robert G. Ingersoll
Knowing Too Much quotes by Robert G. Ingersoll
If there's anything worse than knowing too little, it's knowing too much. Education will broaden a narrow mind, but there's no known cure for a big head. The best you can hope is that it will swell up and bust. ~ George Horace Lorimer
Knowing Too Much quotes by George Horace Lorimer
I enjoy the research and love actually creating the words. There's not too much I find a drudge when it comes to writing. ~ Tracie Peterson
Knowing Too Much quotes by Tracie Peterson
The two most common lies in our world are 'I'm fine' and 'You'll be okay'. They are said without harmful intent, and often said in an attempt to placate worries, but still they tell us it is not our place to make another person uncomfortable or to draw too much attention to ourselves. Over and over, we mindlessly repeat variations of the same two phrases as we hide within our lies and attempt to spare others from the miserable truth. I'm fine. I'm okay. You're fine. You'll be okay. Everything will be all right. We become our lies, but only on the surface. Underneath, we are not fine and they will not be okay. We all know this but we're afraid to speak it. ~ Courtney M. Privett
Knowing Too Much quotes by Courtney M. Privett
Sometimes, when someone keeps forgiving someone else, it becomes too much. ~ Brodi Ashton
Knowing Too Much quotes by Brodi Ashton
Seeing too much to deny and too little to be sure, I am in a state to be pitied. ~ Blaise Pascal
Knowing Too Much quotes by Blaise Pascal
He that, when he should not, spends too much, shall, when he would not, have too little to spend. ~ Owen Feltham
Knowing Too Much quotes by Owen Feltham
The trouble with wedlock is that there's not enough wed and too much lock. ~ Christopher Morley
Knowing Too Much quotes by Christopher Morley
I didn't want to save art - I respected the older artists too much to think art needed saving. But I knew it was finished, even though, at that time, I didn't know what I would do. ~ Sol LeWitt
Knowing Too Much quotes by Sol LeWitt
His sculpture would have joy in it, try to capture the sense of fertility of Dionysus, the nature god, the power of the intoxicating drink that enabled a man to laugh and sing and forget for a while the sorrow of his earthly miseries. And then, perhaps, at the same time he could portray the decay that came with too much forgetfulness, that he saw all around him, when man surrendered his moral and spiritual values for the pleasures of the
flesh. The Bacchus would be the central figure of his theme, a human being rather than a demigod; then there would be a child of about seven, sweet-
faced, lovable, nibbling from a bunch of grapes. His composition would have death in it too; the tiger, who liked wine and was loved by Bacchus, with the deadest, dead skin and head conceivable ~ Irving Stone
Knowing Too Much quotes by Irving Stone
I am a very good cook." When she did cook.
"Good. I like to eat." He lightly bit her palm.
The too-much-air feeling in Lucy's stomach pressed upward into her heart. "What?" she asked past the constriction in her chest.
"What do I like to eat?"
"Yeah."
"Blondes with blue eyes."
Oh God. She pulled her hand from his. "Are you hungry?"
His gaze lowered to her mouth. "I could eat. ~ Rachel Gibson
Knowing Too Much quotes by Rachel Gibson
Don't give up all your romance Anne, a little of it is a good thing - not too much of course-but keep a little of it - Matthew Cuthbert ~ L.M. Montgomery
Knowing Too Much quotes by L.M. Montgomery
I love baseball, I really do. I always told my Dad, I'm not gonna make it working ... I like to play ball too much. Which I did. I played hard. You gotta work at this game. You really do. And its fun doing it if you do it the right way. ~ Yogi Berra
Knowing Too Much quotes by Yogi Berra
I would love to design my own shoe line. Women suffer too much in heels. I want to design a line of sexy platform heels that don't hurt. ~ Wynter Gordon
Knowing Too Much quotes by Wynter Gordon
Okay, if this is what falling in love feels like, someone please kill me now. (Not literally, overzealous
readers.) But it was all too much - too much emotion, too much happiness, too much longing, perhaps
too much ice cream ... ~ James Patterson
Knowing Too Much quotes by James Patterson
It had been a wake-up call and now all she wanted was to keep her dad in sight and make sure he didn't eat too many Mars Bars or drink too much beer. ~ Vicky Pattison
Knowing Too Much quotes by Vicky Pattison
We currently have a government planning to go to Mars, heal broken marriages, and build bridges to nowhere - and also one that cannot wage a war competently, cannot respond to a hurricane adequately, and cannot enforce borders. Is it too much to ask that it get the basic things right before embarking on grandiose schemes? ~ Andrew Sullivan
Knowing Too Much quotes by Andrew Sullivan
I smiled, leaning over the desk and used the sweetest tone I could muster. "In my spare time I flay open bodies of the deceased. Two of whom were victims of Leather Apron. The scent that hung in the room would drop a man to his knees, and I aided my uncle during the postmortems while standing in gelled blood." I sat back in my chair, the leather squeaking its own disapproval. "Whatever you have to show us won't be too much for my stomach to handle, I assure you. ~ Kerri Maniscalco
Knowing Too Much quotes by Kerri Maniscalco
I think when you're acting, you usually don't have to know too much beyond how to pronounce the words you're saying. ~ Alan Alda
Knowing Too Much quotes by Alan Alda
But now I was tired of having desired too much. I suddenly felt old. I should never recover from the wound in my breast. The dream of peace that I had had a moment before attracted and tempted me only because it was far away. Had I realised it, I should simply have dreamed another dream. ~ Henri Barbusse
Knowing Too Much quotes by Henri Barbusse
I don't always have to be on what is the newest in music is. I'm slowly educating myself in music. For me, I feel more free in not knowing everything in what I'm doing. You can start making up too many rules for yourself. It should just be love and fun and feeling good. ~ Erik Hassle
Knowing Too Much quotes by Erik Hassle
Most children are given far too much praise for their early drawings, so much so that they rarely learn the ability to refine their first crude efforts the way their early attempts at language are corrected. ~ Charles De Lint
Knowing Too Much quotes by Charles De Lint
Get involved in an issue that you're passionate about. It almost doesn't matter what it is ... We give too much of our power away, to the professional politicians, to the lobbyists, to cynicism. And our democracy suffers as a result. ~ Barack Obama
Knowing Too Much quotes by Barack Obama
I don't think the rating system places too much pressure on chefs. I prefer to put the pressure on my chefs to perform to the top standards. ~ Alain Ducasse
Knowing Too Much quotes by Alain Ducasse
I drink too much. I smoke too much. I eat like a college student, and I don't exercise enough. I do drugs and I give my love to boys who hate me a little bit and I don't always wash my hands after I clean the litterbox. But I'm absolutely certain the thing that will one day stop my heart for good is the inchoate rage I feel when I read over something I've published and discover a typo. ~ Julio Alexi Genao
Knowing Too Much quotes by Julio Alexi Genao
The easiest way to write a book is to use the Table of Contents as an outline. People get stuck when they think in terms of writing a book. Do not let this delay you. There are a lot of book outline writing software's available today, but I personally believe they have the potential to cause more distraction then assistance.
The best possible outlines have come from pure "flow". I advise my clients to do a simple process of setting the timer for 2 minutes and just writing. I ask that they write everything that pops into their heads without thought or judgment on the subject. The questions I ask are: What is most important to you? What do you know a lot about? Tell me 12 things that fall under that subject that are valuable to know. Under each of the 12 things, give me 3 things that are a "must" in that category. Using index cards to write your answers on is a useful way to arrange chapters and sections of your book. Believe it or not, my students have come up with a Table of Contents/outline in less than 10 minutes using this method. Our greatest block is that we tend to over think things too much. We over analyze and what happens is that we get into analysis paralysis. Our creativity and 'flow' freezes up and all spontaneity and creativity just exits out of the thought process. When we stall the creative flow by trying to be correct, proper and appropriate, we end up talking ourselves out of what we intuitively know that we know and into a space of doubt, or what we th ~ Kytka Hilmar-Jezek
Knowing Too Much quotes by Kytka Hilmar-Jezek
Anyway, it was Oscar who called me to remind me that our nephew, Lydia's son Garnett, was turning eleven years old. Fuck my life. I hated that kid. He smelled like asparagus, and he sweated way too much for a healthy child; but then Garnett, given his propensity for biting teachers and catching chipmunks in the backyard only to bury them alive, was no normal kid. He was a case study for sociopathic behavior in the making. A walking, talking, farting, sweaty, odorous, chipmunk-burying cry for help. ~ Richard J. O'Brien
Knowing Too Much quotes by Richard J. O'Brien
It seems perverse to focus too much on the casualties or hardship in Afghanistan ... [Showing the misery of Afghanistan ran the risk of] promoting enemy propaganda ... we must talk about how the Taliban are using civilian shields and how the Taliban have harboured the terrorists responsible for killing close up to 5,000 innocent people. ~ Walter Isaacson
Knowing Too Much quotes by Walter Isaacson
Your generation is so cynical. You should try to help every individual person you meet, Ari, as a reflex, without thinking." Ari put his head on the steering wheel. "Here we find a fundamental weakness of the Christ doctrine," the Minister declared, making that wise and relatable face that had always been such a success in his television lectures. "It troubles itself too much with conscience, rationale, and so on. Now, I myself am a student of human nature. I observe all faiths, and draw my own conclusions. For example, a Christian sees a tramp in the street, he begins agonizing. Should I give him the money in my pocket? What if he uses it for drink? What if he wastes it? What if there's someone else who needs it more? What if I need it more? And so on. The Jews, the Muslims - they see a tramp, they give him money, they walk on. The action is its own justification. ~ Zadie Smith
Knowing Too Much quotes by Zadie Smith
The beloved may be treacherous, greasy-headed and given to evil habits, or else it can be a man in his late forties who works too much, or it can be an alarm clock. ~ Kelly Link
Knowing Too Much quotes by Kelly Link
Not the first time. I didn't think my heart could stand it. But the airplane is a wonderful thing. You are still in one place when you arrive at the other. The airplane is faster than the heart. You arrive quickly and you leave quickly. You don't grieve too much. And there is something else about the airplane. You can go back many times to the same place. And something strange happens if you go back often enough. You stop grieving for the past. You see that the past is something in your mind alone, that it doesn't exist in real life. You trample on the past, you crush it. In the beginning it is like trampling on a garden. In the end you are just walking on ground. That is the way we have to learn to live now. The past is here." He touched his heart. "It isn't there." And he pointed at the dusty road. I ~ V.S. Naipaul
Knowing Too Much quotes by V.S. Naipaul
Thank you, Morrigan. This is very helpful," I said, already feeling myself warming up. "And delivered to me entirely without pain."
The Morrigan sucker-punched me hard in the face, sending me sprawling in the snow and breaking my nose.
"You spoke too soon and with entirely too much sarcasm," she said. "We could have parted with a kiss. Remember that ... ~ Kevin Hearne
Knowing Too Much quotes by Kevin Hearne
Maybe you could call me a little controlling or I like things to be my way, but since I was a little girl, I've known what I wanted. I'm very rootsy, but it really hadn't ever caused me too much strife. I really know when to say when. I'm not too outward but I'm very honest. ~ Ashton Shepherd
Knowing Too Much quotes by Ashton Shepherd
No one talks about money more than people who have too much of it ... ~ Francoise Sagan
Knowing Too Much quotes by Francoise Sagan
I work too much to be an appropriate parent. I feel like a bad mom to my dog some days because I'm just not here enough. I just feel like I would do a bad job if I took the time to literally give birth to a kid right now and try and juggle everything I'm doing. ~ Rachael Ray
Knowing Too Much quotes by Rachael Ray
Perhaps it's a honey-ache. That's the result of eating too much of what isn't yours."

"But your friend offered it. So she might not have explicitly said, 'Derrick, please eat all of the honey in my kitchen,' but it was implied by the mere fact that she has a kitchen. ~ Elizabeth May
Knowing Too Much quotes by Elizabeth May
Ever since I was a little girl, I've worried too much. It always bothers me because sometimes you end up worrying more about the worry and you are not resolving things that are right there in front of you. I have been like that all my life, and it's hard to change. ~ Penelope Cruz
