I'm a just a mom when I walk down the street. ~ Alice Barrett
Just A Mom quotes by Alice Barrett
We should no longer allow a mother to be defined as "just a mom". It is on her back that great nations are built. We should no longer allow any woman's voice to be drowned out or disregarded. As we affirm other women, and as we teach our sons, husbands and friends to hold them in the highest regard, we honor both the mothers whose shoulders we've stood on and the daughters who will one day stand tall on ours. ~ Oprah Winfrey
Just A Mom quotes by Oprah Winfrey
No one in the world can take the place of your mother. Right or wrong, from her viewpoint you are always right. She may scold you for little things, but never for the big ones. ~ Harry S. Truman
Just A Mom quotes by Harry S. Truman
You're just a mom, You feel useless and essential at the same time. You feel like everyone is doing a better job than you and that nobody understands what you're going through. ~ Bunmi Laditan
Just A Mom quotes by Bunmi Laditan
The changes I saw in my body as a result of being pregnant now seem to pale in comparison to the changes I've seen in my personality as I have embraced motherhood. The ability to truly understand the pressures of motherhood cannot be understood unless you are a mother. You're not alone in this, Mom! Your value as a mother is unsurpassed. You haven't lost yourself; you've found who you were destined to become. You've been given lives to mold and an opportunity to prepare your children for the future. There is nothing "just a mom" about you. ~ Tracey Lanter Eyster
Just A Mom quotes by Tracey Lanter Eyster
Motherhood is given the brush-off in our society. 'Oh, I'm just a mom,' you hear women say. 'Just' a mom? Please! Being a mom is everything. It's mentorship, it's inspirational, it's our hope for the future. ~ Sally Field
Just A Mom quotes by Sally Field
I used to enjoy the spotlight. If I had a day off from filming, I didn't know what to do. Now I enjoy my family time so much, there is this sense of, if it all went away, and I was just a mom, I would love my life. ~ Kim Kardashian
Just A Mom quotes by Kim Kardashian
Max is a marvel to us. He will never have to come out because he will never have been kept in. Even though he has a mom and a dad, they made sure from the beginning to tell him that it didn't have to be a mom and a dad. It could be a mom and a mom, a dad and a dad, just a mom, or just a dad. When Max's early affections became clear, he didn't think twice about them. He doesn't see it as defining him. It is just a part of his definition. ~ David Levithan
Just A Mom quotes by David Levithan
With what price we pay for the glory of motherhood. ~ Isadora Duncan
Just A Mom quotes by Isadora Duncan
Our whole image of wolf packs and alphas is completely wrong. Instead, wolves live the way people do:7 in families made up of a mom, a dad, and their children. Sometimes an unrelated wolf can be adopted into a pack, or one of the mom's or dad's relatives is part of the pack (the "maiden aunt"), or a mom or dad who has died could be replaced by a new wolf. But mostly wolf packs are just a mom, a dad, and their pups. ~ Temple Grandin
Just A Mom quotes by Temple Grandin
I stomp toward her and point. I've SO had it with her. "That is SO not nice."
You don't even talk like a queen." She glares at me.
Nick raises an eyebrow at me. "You're a QUEEN?"
I walk to the edge of the bed, stand just a few inches away from her. Power rolls off of her. "Okay, please refrain from your insidious comments, which are obviously geared to inflict harm upon my psyche. I do not appreciate it."
Nick cracks up. "Well, you ARE the same Zara. ~ Carrie Jones
Just A Mom quotes by Carrie Jones
Democracy is just a filler for textbooks! Do you actually believe that public opinion influences the government? ~ Voltaire
Just A Mom quotes by Voltaire
My mom's a secret Rastafarian. ~ Jenna Bush
Just A Mom quotes by Jenna Bush
If I were in the government I would have a brigade of policemen assigned to keeping an eye on people who paint landscapes outdoors. Oh, I wouldn't want anyone killed. I'd be satisfied with just a little buckshot to begin with. ~ Edgar Degas
Just A Mom quotes by Edgar Degas
Having occupied both sides of the podium, I greatly prefer no podium at all. Just a conversation between reader and author. ~ Oran Kangas
Just A Mom quotes by Oran Kangas
Youths write me and tell me that their band will go nowhere because of all the bad bands in the world. I tell them there has always been awful music and that no great band ever wasted any time complaining, they just got it done. Their ropey ranting is just a way to get out of the hard work of making music that will do some lasting damage. ~ Henry Rollins
Just A Mom quotes by Henry Rollins
Jay's mom was a lot of great things that Violet admired, technologically savvy was definitely not one of them. She was one of those people who were loath to move into the twenty-first century and embrace all things modern. She was the only adult woman that Violet knew of who didn't own a cell phone, and she refused to buckle beneath the pressure to pay good money for high-speed internet, so Jay was forced to plug his secondhand laptop into the phone line and use dial-up. Not because they couldn't afford such luxuries, but because Ann Heaton wasn't going down without a fight. ~ Kimberly Derting
Just A Mom quotes by Kimberly Derting
My dad's all I've ever had. When I was 3 and 4, my mom used to take me to bars. I understand why now - babysitters cost beer, beer and-a-half an hour. ~ Christopher Titus
Just A Mom quotes by Christopher Titus
I'm just a black hole for stuff. No one should ever hand me anything, because I get so easily distracted. I'll be like, 'Oh, look, something shiny!' I'm glad I never learned how to drive. I would be really dangerous. ~ Florence Welch
Just A Mom quotes by Florence Welch
A day is a day. It's just a measurement of time. Whether it's a good day or a bad day is up to you. It's all a matter of perception. ~ Donald L. Hicks
Just A Mom quotes by Donald L. Hicks
The second sort was waking up alone. That was characterised by an awareness that he was alone in bed, alone in life, alone in the world, and it could sometimes fill him with a sweet sensation of freedom, and at other times with a melancholy that could perhaps be called loneliness, but which was perhaps just a glimpse of what anyone's life really is: a journey from the attachment of the umbilical cord to a death where we are finally separated from everything and everyone. A brief glimpse at the moment of awakening before all our defence mechanisms and comforting illusions slot into place again and we can face life in all its unreal glory. Then ~ Jo Nesbo
Just A Mom quotes by Jo Nesbo
If there is any kernel of truth in the religions we so deplore, and they are just a carnival of errors, the truth is that it's possible to sink into the present moment in such a way as to find it sacred and to cease to have a problem. ~ Sam Harris
Just A Mom quotes by Sam Harris
I've never really considered myself just a street artist. I consider myself a populist. ~ Shepard Fairey
Just A Mom quotes by Shepard Fairey
Awaken people's curiosity. It is enough to open minds, do not overload them. Put there just a spark. ~ Anatole France
Just A Mom quotes by Anatole France
If you remember one thing from talking to me, remember this: I am just a girl who makes noises - and I'm incredibly lucky that people happen to like those noises. ~ Joss Stone
Just A Mom quotes by Joss Stone
In Judaism, the way you learn to love someone is by giving to them," she said. "The more you give to a person, the more you end up loving them. If love is just a feeling, and that feeling changes, then what? Love has to be something you choose to build. ~ Kristin Newman
Just A Mom quotes by Kristin Newman
I came from nothing out in the woods near Tallahassee, Florida. My mom was a single mom raising five of us. It wasn't easy but she found a way to raise us to adulthood. We made it somehow. ~ Tavoris Cloud
Just A Mom quotes by Tavoris Cloud
Well, that's just a little hard, since I can't even talk her into sparing your life, huh? You haven't exactly endeared yourself to her. (Kat)
Oh, excuse my utter lack of manners there. Should we call Mommy dearest and invite her over for tea? I promise to be on my best manners when I choke the life out of her. (Sin) ~ Sherrilyn Kenyon
Just A Mom quotes by Sherrilyn Kenyon
All the visitors do make an effort to look their best and it's very tender, it's sweet as hell, the way the women wear their prettiest everything, I mean the old ones and the really poor ones too, they make the dearest effort to look nice and smell nice too, and I love them for it. I love the kids too, especially the colored ones. I mean the kids the wives bring. It should be sad, seeing the kids there, but it isn't, they have ribbons in their hair and lots of shine on their shoes, you'd think there was going to be ice cream; and sometimes that's what it's like in the visitors' room, a party. Anyway, it's not like the movies: you know, grim whisperings through a grille. There isn't any grille, just a counter between you and them, and the kids can stand on it to be hugged; all you have to do to kiss somebody is lean across. What I like most, they're so happy to see each other, they've saved up so much to talk about, it isn't possible to be dull, they keep laughing and holding hands. It's different afterwards," she said. "I see them on the train. They sit so quiet watching the river go by. ~ Truman Capote
Just A Mom quotes by Truman Capote
The mind is constantly talking. If the inner talk can drop even for a single moment you will be able to have a glimpse of no-mind. That's what meditation is all about. The state of no-mind is the right state. It is your state. ~ Rajneesh
Just A Mom quotes by Rajneesh
What does the world know? Nothing! You simply get used to something, you accept it and acknowledge it, because your teacher has acknowledged it before you; everything is just a supposition - indeed, even time, space, motion, matter are suppositions. The world knows nothing, it merely accepts things ... ~ Knut Hamsun
Just A Mom quotes by Knut Hamsun
The Catholic Church wasn't just a part of his parents' live, and his grandparents', it ruled their lives. The priests told them what to eat, what to do, who to vote for, what to think. What to believe.
Told them to have more and more babies. Kept them pregnant and poor and ignorant.
They'd been beaten in school, scolded in church, abused in the back rooms.
And when, after generations of this, they'd finally walked away, the Church had accused them of being unfaithful. And threatened them with eternal damnation. ~ Louise Penny
Just A Mom quotes by Louise Penny
The old-fashioned idea that the simple piling up of experiences, one on top of another, can make you an artist, is, of course, so much rubbish. If acting were just a matter of experience, then any busy harlot could make Garbo's Camille pale. ~ Helen Hayes
Just A Mom quotes by Helen Hayes
Her religious poetry was surprisingly slender, and as I was eager to know more about her religion, I asked her about this aspect of her poetry. She replied with these lines from Keats' Ode to a Grecian Urn: 'Beauty is truth, truth beauty'
that is all Ye know on eath, and all ye need to know'. Do not ask me to immortalise the great Mystery of Life. I am just a humble worker. For beauty, look to the Pslams, to Isaiah, to St. John of the Cross. How could my poor pen scan such verse? For truth, look to the Gospels
four short accounts of God made Man. There is nothing more to say. ~ Jennifer Worth
Just A Mom quotes by Jennifer Worth
Miracles don't have to be big, and they can happen in the unlikeliest places. Sometimes they are so small people don't notice. Sometimes miracles are shy. They brush against your sleeve, they settle on your eyelashes. They wait for you to notice, then melt away. Lots of things start by being small. It's a good way to begin, because no one takes any notice of you. You're just a little thing beetling along, minding your own business. Then you grow. ~ Grace McCleen
Just A Mom quotes by Grace McCleen
Dear Miss Hummingbird,

The leaves are turning green now, but not with envy. But they should be envious, because I, Jarod Ora Kintz, son of a thousand question marks, now have what every unemployed American most covets: a cat. Oh, and I've also got a new job. Almost forgot to mention it.

"What will you be doing?" you may be wondering, and "Is it legal?" Those answers, as you can imagine, are gray. But so are elephants. Gray, I mean. Elephants are gray, not illegal, even though a certain political party in this country that's represented by an elephant mascot certainly does things that to the normal citizen would be considered illegal. But I digress.

Turns out that right under "Mayor of Orafouraville" on my resume, I can now add "Concierge at the Five-Star Hotel." Concierge is just a fancy term that means something similar in Latin, I'm sure.

My job will be to arrange activities for hotel guests for everything from opera tickets to dinner reservations to even organizing the burial of a loved one - though not if the disposal of the body is to be kept secret because a murder has occurred. Murder is such a ghastly (and ghostly) way to spoil dinner reservations for two, wouldn't you agree? Or, rather, wouldn't you not disagree?

This job will allow me to meet interesting people from all over the planet, and possibly even other planets (like Pluto, if that's still even a planet).

It's a full-time job, at least par ~ Jarod Kintz
Just A Mom quotes by Jarod Kintz
There's a difference between unspoken and unsaid," Jaycee says. "Just because chimpanzees cannot speak doesn't mean they have nothing to say; the ability to vocalize thoughts is not the same as the ability to acquire and use language ... Language is really just a systematic means of communication through symbols or sounds. Almost all animals use language. The problem is that when it comes to the issue of language, humans are incredibly narcissistic. Since we literally hold the key to their cages, our language is the only one that counts. ~ Neil Abramson
Just A Mom quotes by Neil Abramson
It's really funny, I think to myself ... I've got my same guitar and amp, it's just a bigger room now! Some things don't change. ~ Brian Setzer
Just A Mom quotes by Brian Setzer
Today I: smoke/am overweight/have a shitty attitude/am depressed because: my mom died of cancer/my uncle put his thumb up my butt/my dad hit me with a razor strop" seems kind of overly deterministic to Randy; it seems to reflect a kind of lazy or half-witted surrender to bald teleology. Basically, if everyone has a vested interest in believing that they understand everything, or even that people are capable in principle of understanding it (either because believing this dampens their insecurities about the unpredictable world, or makes them feel more intelligent than others, or both) then you have an environment in which dopey, reductionist, simple-minded, pat, glib-thinking can circulate, like wheelbarrows filled with inflated currency in the marketplaces of Jakarta. ~ Neal Stephenson
Just A Mom quotes by Neal Stephenson
I'm not just a model who plays volleyball, or a volleyball player who supports herself modeling. I'm a female athlete personality. ~ Gabrielle Reece
