I've always wondered why European politicians as a group seemed brighter than American politicians as a group. Maybe it's becausemany American politicians have the race issue to fall back on. They become lazy, suspicious of innovative ideas, and as a result American institutions atrophy. ~ Ishmael Reed
Innovative Ideas quotes by Ishmael Reed
Innovative ideas aren't generated in structured, authoritarian environments but in an adaptive culture based on the principles of self-organization and self-discipline. ~ Jim Highsmith
Innovative Ideas quotes by Jim Highsmith
Great people are those who make great effort to achieve innovative ideas against great opposition and great forces, and succeed in the shaping of history. ~ Raphael Cohen-Almagor
Innovative Ideas quotes by Raphael Cohen-Almagor
When people lack true culture or are devoid of innovative ideas, they speak about wine, various brands of alcoholic beverages, or the quality of soap. ~ Dimitris Mita
Innovative Ideas quotes by Dimitris Mita
Innovative ideas are rarely rejected on their merits; they're rejected because of how they make people feel. If you forget people's concerns and feelings when you present an innovation, or neglect to understand their perspectives in your design, you're setting yourself up to fail. ~ Scott Berkun
Innovative Ideas quotes by Scott Berkun
Those that regularly come into contact with people having diverse interests and viewpoints are more likely to come up with innovative ideas. ~ Steven Johnson
Innovative Ideas quotes by Steven Johnson
Curiosity is the seedling for innovation, and if you can recognize it and react positively to it among your people, you can multiply innovative ideas ~ David Goldsmith
Innovative Ideas quotes by David Goldsmith
The way to get good ideas is to get lots of ideas, and throw the bad ones away. ~ Linus Pauling
Innovative Ideas quotes by Linus Pauling
The attackers are the people with bold, innovative ideas, who are trying to disrupt the status quo, and usher in a better way. We need to think out of the box, and be curious, and be willing to take risks. ~ Steve Case
Innovative Ideas quotes by Steve Case
The trouble with innovation is that truly innovative ideas often look like bad ideas at the time. ~ Ben Horowitz
Innovative Ideas quotes by Ben Horowitz
These results have some interesting implications for our views on creativity. Regardless of how open-minded people are or claim to be, they experience a subtle bias against creativity in uncertain situations. This isn't merely a preference for the familiar or a desire to maintain the status quo. It's an outright rejection of new, innovative ideas. ~ David Burkus
Innovative Ideas quotes by David Burkus
Smaller companies are often more homogenous. Don't simply increase your diversity because of the social pressure to do so. Instead, realize that hiring a more diverse team will give you a whole new repertoires of innovative ideas. And then develop a strategy for effectively using the diversity of your team. ~ David Livermore
Innovative Ideas quotes by David Livermore
It was not easy victory in the America Cup. Our boys spent years experimenting with different designs for their boat before they came up with the innovative idea of having a submerged nuclear submarine tow it. ~ Dave Barry
Innovative Ideas quotes by Dave Barry
In 1857, Bizet departed for Rome and spent three years there. He studied the landscape, the culture, Italian literature and art. Musically he studied the scores of the great masters. At the end of the first year he was asked to submit a religious work as his required composition. As a self-described atheist, Bizet felt uneasy and hypocritical writing a religious piece. Instead, he submitted a comic opera. Publicly, the committee accepted, acknowledging his musical talent. Privately, the committee conveyed their displeasure. Thus, early in his career, Bizet displayed an independent spirit that would be reflected in innovative ideas in his opera composition.
[The Pearl Fishers - Georges Bizet, Virginia Opera] ~ Georges Bizet
Innovative Ideas quotes by Georges Bizet
We all know, however, that the enormous weight of tradition, habit, and custom that occupies the greater part of our brain bears down pitilessly on the more brilliant and innovative ideas of which the remaining part is capable, and although it is true that, in some cases, this weight can balance the excesses and extravagances of the imagination that would lead us God knows where were they given free rein, it is equally true that it often has a way of subtly submitting what we believed to be our free will to unconscious tropisms, like a plant that does not know why it will always have to lean toward the side from which the light comes. ~ Jose Saramago
Innovative Ideas quotes by Jose Saramago
Risk taking and the drive to pursue innovative ideas are the fuel that stokes the entrepreneurial spirit. ~ Daniel Goleman
Innovative Ideas quotes by Daniel Goleman
It is a matter of fact; I approached without a preconceived idea, too ready to declare, if the experiment had imposed upon me the confession, that there was a spontaneous generation, of
which I am convinced today that those who assure it are blindfolded. ~ Louis Pasteur
Innovative Ideas quotes by Louis Pasteur
The idea of spontaneous generation of life in its present form is therefore highly improbable even to the scale of the billions of years during which prebotic evolution occurred. ~ Ilya Prigogine
Innovative Ideas quotes by Ilya Prigogine
Even today we raise our hand against our brother ... We have perfected our weapons, our conscience has fallen asleep, and we have sharpened our ideas to justify ourselves as if it were normal we continue to sow destruction, pain, death. Violence and war lead only to death. ~ Pope Francis
Innovative Ideas quotes by Pope Francis
But in science the credit goes to the man who convinces the world, not to the man to whom the idea first occurs. Not the man who finds a grain of new and precious quality but to him who sows it, reaps it, grinds it and feeds the world on it. ~ Francis Darwin
Innovative Ideas quotes by Francis Darwin
Technology is a bit of a double-edged sword. Used right, it's a wonderful tool, but unfortunately, it makes it easier for a lot of mediocre people to get really crappy ideas out. ~ Martin Gore
Innovative Ideas quotes by Martin Gore
Self-education through play and exploration requires enormous amounts of unscheduled time - time to do whatever one wants to do, without pressure, judgment, or intrusion from authority figures. That time is needed to make friends, play with ideas and materials, experience and overcome boredom, learn from one's own mistakes, and develop passions. ~ Peter Gray
Innovative Ideas quotes by Peter Gray
If, then, you wish to insure the interest of your pupils, there is only one way to do it; and that is to make certain that they have something in their minds to attend with, when you begin to talk. That something can consist in nothing but a previous lot of ideas already interesting in themselves, and of such a nature that the incoming novel objects which you present can dovetail into them and form with them some kind of a logically associated or systematic whole. ~ William James
Innovative Ideas quotes by William James
I have never had a shortage of ideas for shows. I always just do them and the gallerists don't - they stopped long ago trying to tell me what I should show in their gallery. They just don't even do it. I show whatever I want to show. They are very happy and as far as I know, they have always been very pleased with whatever I have shown, even if it is nothing to sell. ~ Robert Barry
Innovative Ideas quotes by Robert Barry
ideas are more powerful than guns.we should not let our enemies have guns,we should let them have ideas ~ Joseph Staten
Innovative Ideas quotes by Joseph Staten
Anthropological theory assumes that exposure in a treeless situation where all escape upwards was cut off led to the invention of myths. Kafka's ape, dragged into human society, expresses very similar ideas in his 'Report for an Academy'. It is the absence of any way of escape that has forced him to become human himself. ~ W.G. Sebald
Innovative Ideas quotes by W.G. Sebald
The most profound voice of any musician I have ever heard. Joe (Strummer) took his message to the world, and the world listened. He managed to influence more than one generation with his innovative and determined manner, and I am not alone in repeatedly turning to his thoughts and lyrics when searching for inspiration. The Clash was the greatest rock band. They wrote the rule book for U2. ~ Bono
Innovative Ideas quotes by Bono
Philosophy has been a masked ball in which a religious image of humankind is renewed in the guise humanist ideas of progress and enlightenment. Even philosophy's greatest unmaskers have ended up as figures in the masquerade. Removing the masks from our animal faces is a task that has hardly begun. ~ John N. Gray
Innovative Ideas quotes by John N. Gray
rationalist believes in reason as the primary source of knowledge, and he may also believe that man has certain innate ideas that exist in the mind prior to all experience. And the clearer such ideas may be, the more certain it is that they correspond to reality. You ~ Jostein Gaarder
Innovative Ideas quotes by Jostein Gaarder
Babel led to an explosion in the number of languages. That was part of Enki's plan. Monocultures, like a field of corn, are susceptible to infections, but genetically diverse cultures, like a prairie, are extremely robust. After a few thousand years, one new language developed - Hebrew - that possessed exceptional flexibility and power. The deuteronomists, a group of radical monotheists in the sixth and seventh centuries B.C., were the first to take advantage of it. They lived in a time of extreme nationalism and xenophobia, which made it easier for them to reject foreign ideas like Asherah worship. They formalized their old stories into the Torah and implanted within it a law that insured its propagation throughout history - a law that said, in effect, 'make an exact copy of me and read it every day.' And they encouraged a sort of
informational hygiene, a belief in copying things strictly and taking great care with information, which as they understood, is potentially dangerous. They made data a controlled substance... [and] gone beyond that. There is evidence of carefully planned biological warfare against the army of Sennacherib when he tried to conquer Jerusalem. So the deuteronomists may have had an en of their very own. Or maybe they just understood viruses well enough that they knew how to take
advantage of naturally occurring strains. The skills cultivated by these people were passed down in secret from one generation to the next and manifested themselves tw ~ Neal Stephenson
Innovative Ideas quotes by Neal Stephenson
It seems to me to be important to distinguish a good idea from poor implementations of it ~ Ron Jeffries
Innovative Ideas quotes by Ron Jeffries
To be human and to be adult means constantly to be in the grip of opposing emotions, to have daily to reconcile apparently conflicting tensions. I want this, but need that. I cherish this, but I adore its opposite too. ~ Stephen Fry
Innovative Ideas quotes by Stephen Fry
I found out when I did the Oprah Winfrey show that there was a cookie jar of me. So she gave it to me. I had no idea prior to that that it even existed. ~ Carrie Fisher
Innovative Ideas quotes by Carrie Fisher
I definitely write about a lot of dreamy, surreal stuff. I do end up going to a surreal world with my music, but I also like the idea of there being really real stuff as well. ~ Ellie Goulding
Innovative Ideas quotes by Ellie Goulding
There are a couple hard things. One, getting a funny idea that people can relate to; a funny idea or a funny script; there's a million pitches. ~ David Spade
Innovative Ideas quotes by David Spade
The biggest mistake you can make in trying to talk convincingly is to put your highest priority on expressing your ideas and feelings. What most people really want is to be listened to, respected, and understood. The moment people see that they are being understood, they become more motivated to understand your point of view. ~ David D. Burns
Innovative Ideas quotes by David D. Burns
Fiction is a set of observable manifestations, as represented and frozen in language, that triggers a profoundly subjective and individual experience.

Ultimately, this is the kind of productive dilemma that can allow fiction to get to places that other media does not. Fiction is exceptionally good at providing models for consciousness, and at putting readers in a position to take upon themselves the structure of another consciousness for a short while. It is better at this than any other genre or media, and can do it in any number of modes (realistic or metafictional, reliably or unreliably, representationally or metafictionally, etc.). But for it to be able to do this as well as it possibly can, it must clear a space. This is where, for me, doing without becomes most crucial.

The subtractions that we find in innovative fictions (even when those subtractions, as in Joyce's work, are followed by further ornamentations and encrustations) are there to facilitate the simulation of consciousness. What is subtracted is the significance and meaning designed to let us classify an experience without entering into it. Doing without such things opens the door wider for experience, putting the reader in a position where they are experiencing fiction in lieu of understanding it.

By paying more attention to what we leave out than to how readers are going to interpret or work after the fact, we refuse to let fiction be assimilable, digestible, and safe. We k ~ Brian Evenson
Innovative Ideas quotes by Brian Evenson
I'm just glad it'll be Clark Gable who's falling on his face and not Gary Cooper. ~ Gary Cooper
Innovative Ideas quotes by Gary Cooper
The people of England well know that the idea of inheritance furnishes a sure principle of conservation and a sure principle of transmission, without at all excluding a principle of improvement. ~ Edmund Burke
Innovative Ideas quotes by Edmund Burke
It's all the same. It's the same face. We always look for an idea, for the same face, for the same position. There is no such thing as a European or an African photography. It's all the same thing. ~ Malick Sidibe
Innovative Ideas quotes by Malick Sidibe
Momo would have been delighted, except that most of the newcomers had no idea how to play. All they did was sit around looking bored and sullen and watching Momo and her friends. Sometimes they deliberately broke up the other children's games and spoiled everything. Squabbles and scuffles were frequent, though these never lasted long because Momo's presence had its usual effect on the newcomers, too, so they soon started having bright ideas themselves and joining in with a will. The trouble was, new children turned up nearly every day, some of them from distant parts of the city, and one spoilsport was enough to ruin the game for everyone else. But there was another thing that Momo couldn't quite understand - a thing that hadn't happened until very recently. More and more often these days, children turned up with all kind of toys you couldn't really play with: remote-controlled tanks that trundled to and fro but did little else, or space rockets that whizzed around on strings but got nowhere, or model robots that waddled along with eyes flashing and heads swiveling but that was all. They were highly expensive toys such as Momo's friends had never owned, still less than Momo herself. Most noticeable of all, they were so complete, down to the tiniest detail, that they left nothing at all to the imagination. Their owners would spend hours watching them, mesmerized but bored, as they trundled, whizzed, and waddled along. Finally, when that palled, they would go back to the famili ~ Michael Ende, Momo
Innovative Ideas quotes by Michael Ende, Momo
I think, perhaps, we have very mistaken ideas about heaven
what it is and what it holds for us. I don't think it can be so very different from life here as most people seem to think. I believe we'll just go on living, a good deal as we live here
and be OURSELVES just the same
only it will be easier to be good and to
follow the highest. All the hindrances and perplexities will be taken away, and we shall see clearly. ~ L.M. Montgomery
Innovative Ideas quotes by L.M. Montgomery
Your mind controls your actions and that means when your mind gives you designed thoughts, your actions too are going to be designed actions! ~ Israelmore Ayivor
Innovative Ideas quotes by Israelmore Ayivor
Nothing is ever actually invented by the mind. The mind puts things together and constructs false ideas ~ Jostein Gaarder
Innovative Ideas quotes by Jostein Gaarder
I really hate bureaucracy and the idea that I'm not a free person. ~ Paloma Faith
Innovative Ideas quotes by Paloma Faith
A lot of times Mick will play me different things, or I'll listen to a cassette, and out of twenty ideas or whatever, I'll find two or three that are just blowing me away, and we'll start working on them right away. ~ Lou Gramm
Innovative Ideas quotes by Lou Gramm
I've always been interested in an idea of boundless love - an impersonal, big love. ~ Cass McCombs
Innovative Ideas quotes by Cass McCombs
The very idea that you can pursue happiness, that you can deserve it, that you can demand it, that you have the right to be happy, is foolish. Nobody has the right to be happy. You can be happy, but there is nothing like a right about it. And if you think that it is your right you will go on missing, because you have started to look in the wrong direction from the very beginning. ~ Rajneesh
Innovative Ideas quotes by Rajneesh
What? No defense? Any student of mine must be able to defend his ideas against an attack. No matter how you spend your life, your wit will defend you more often than a sword. Keep it sharp! I ~ Patrick Rothfuss
Innovative Ideas quotes by Patrick Rothfuss
I take in a lot of stuff from real life, movies, television, news and it all gets mixed in my head and somehow turns into a story idea. ~ Janet Evanovich
Innovative Ideas quotes by Janet Evanovich
Design is the term we use to describe both the process and the result of giving tangible form to human ideas. Design doesn't just contribute to the quality of life; design, in many ways, now constitutes the quality of life. ~ Peter Lawrence
Innovative Ideas quotes by Peter Lawrence
Co-dependency essentially revolves around the sentence: "I am not enough." A co-dependent person will always need another person to validate their worth, their feelings, their ideas and even their existence. This either shows itself as a need to manipulate and control surroundings; or as a need to bend over backwards to make other people feel good, the reason being that "I can't feel good if you don't feel good. ~ Gudjon Bergmann
Innovative Ideas quotes by Gudjon Bergmann
It's important to discuss ideas but it's more important to surrender control and preconceptions. ~ Judith Schaechter
Innovative Ideas quotes by Judith Schaechter
Some people have a handful of ideas, but not enough time to realize them. ~ Eraldo Banovac
Innovative Ideas quotes by Eraldo Banovac
Where can we take no the product, but the idea? ~ Kevin Plank
Innovative Ideas quotes by Kevin Plank
One has to be a lowbrow, a bit of a murderer, to be a politician, ready and willing to see people sacrificed, slaughtered, for the sake of an idea, whether a good one or a bad one. ~ Henry Miller
Innovative Ideas quotes by Henry Miller
Actually, writers have no business writing about their own works. They either wax conceited, saying things like: 'My brilliance is possibly most apparent in my dazzling short story, "The Cookiepants Hypotenuse."' Or else they get unbearably cutesy: 'My cat Ootsywootums has given me all my best ideas, hasn't oo, squeezums? ~ Connie Willis
Innovative Ideas quotes by Connie Willis
I played a couple of ideas and then had this unusual texture underneath which was like this little granulated kind of pipe organ almost like a scratchy record which he started [inaudible] brilliantly. "Oh I love that song." And when things go fine, it's good. So he started loving that song and that song was used quite a lot in the movie which is very granulated stuff on the guitar. ~ A.R. Rahman
