Many of the seminal social issues of our time - poverty, lack of education, human trafficking, war and torture, domestic abuse - can track their way to our theology of, or beliefs about, women, which has its roots in what we believe about the nature, purposes, and character of God. ~ Sarah Bessey
Human Trafficking quotes by Sarah Bessey
when you speak about feminism
they like to hit you with things
i call 'what about's–
what about women in the middle east
what about women in third world countries
what about focusing on them and not the problems here

and this all sounds good in theory
yes
we need to help them
yes
we need to help young girls
trapped in child marriages
yes
we need to help women
marred by acid attacks
yes
we need to help victims
of human trafficking
yes
we need to help women
who wil be imprisioned
beaten
killed
for speaking out about their sexual assault
for getting an abortion
for leaving an abusive husband

yes
we need to help them
of couse we do
it is our job as decent humans
to help them

but we can help them
and help ourselves at the same time

we can help young girls
in child marriages

and we can fight to end
the objectification of young girls
here

we can help women
marred by acid attacks

and we can work harder
to arrest abusers and assailants
here

we can help victims
of human trafficking

and we can stop stigma and violence
against sex workers
here

we can help women
who will be
imprisioned for speaking out about their sexual assault
beaten for getting an abortion
killed for lea ~ Catarine Hancock
Human Trafficking quotes by Catarine Hancock
Unfortunately, what is thrown away is not only food and dispensable objects, but often human beings themselves, who are discarded as 'unnecessary.' For example, it is frightful even to think there are children, victims of abortion, who will never see the light of day; children being used as soldiers, abused and killed in armed conflicts; and children being bought and sold in that terrible form of modern slavery which is human trafficking, which is a crime against humanity. ~ Pope Francis
Human Trafficking quotes by Pope Francis
But he couldn't feel self-pity in the face of the memorial. He hadn't lost nearly enough as these children, who'd lost their homeland and, in many cases, their whole families. Perhaps they had gained something, too, though. They had at least escaped the concentration camps, been taken in by good, caring families, and had grown up to live their lives in relative freedom. ~ Peter Robinson
Human Trafficking quotes by Peter Robinson
Children are the most vulnerable and susceptible to become victims of human trafficking. ~ Asa Don Brown
Human Trafficking quotes by Asa Don Brown
Where do people get off telling people what to do? It's their bodies. If you legalized sex work and legally protected the sex workers, you wouldn't see anything like human trafficking. All of that would be obliterated. ~ Margaret Cho
Human Trafficking quotes by Margaret Cho
Her heart is no longer hers, it belongs to him, in all its brokenness and vulnerability. She prays that he protects it and doesn't finish the job, completely destroying it. ~ Karen-Anne Stewart
Human Trafficking quotes by Karen-Anne Stewart
Ah, my dear friend Hassim, seems our paths cross once again, how fortunate for this humble Sheik." As Abdullah spoke in his usual self deprecating manner I realized that a favor was on the tip of his tongue and that I was about to be offered a quid-pro-quo.

We were sitting crossed legged on large fat pillows with gold fringe. The tent was large with partitions dividing living, sleeping and cooking space. It was made from heavy cotton canvas erected on thick poles in the center giving the structure a peaked circus tent appearance. The women serving us were young, wearing harem pants low on their hips with cropped gauze tops made from sheer silk. Their exposed midriffs were flat and toned, their belly buttons were decorated in precious stones that glittered in the torch light as they moved. They were bare footed with stacks of gold ankle bracelets making the only sound we heard as they kept our glasses filled with fresh sweet tea and our communal serving trays piled high with dates and sugar incrusted sweets of undetermined origin.

Abdullah took no notice of these women, his nonchalance intrigued me as I was obviously having trouble keeping my mind focused on the discussion at hand, this was all part of the Arab way, when it came to negotiation they had no peers.

"So my dear friend, tell me, the region is on fire is there a solution?"

I spoke in a deliberate and flat tone, little emotion just concern, one friend to another.

Nick Hahn
Human Trafficking quotes by Nick Hahn
When you walked into my life, I knew at that moment who I am, everything inside of me was no longer mine. One touch from your hand is all it took, from that second on, I knew that I will always belong to you. ~ Karen-Anne Stewart
Human Trafficking quotes by Karen-Anne Stewart
The menace of human trafficking continues to endure only because, there are some heartless men who are taking advantage of the lives and bodies the gullible victims get trapped into. ~ Sunday Adelaja
Human Trafficking quotes by Sunday Adelaja
A drone is often preferred for missions that are too "dull, dirty, or dangerous" for manned aircraft."

PROLOGUE

The graffiti was in Spanish, neon colors highlighting the varicose cracks in the wall. It smelled of urine and pot. The front door was metal with four bolt locks and the windows were frosted glass, embedded with chicken wire. They swung out and up like big fake eye-lashes held up with a notched adjustment bar.

This was a factory building on the near west side of Cleveland in an industrial area on the Cuyahoga River known in Ohio as The Flats.

First a sweatshop garment factory, then a warehouse for imported cheeses then a crack den for teenage potheads. It was now headquarters for Magic Slim, the only pimp in Cleveland with his own film studio and training facility.

Her name was Cosita, she was eighteen looking like fourteen. One of nine children from El Chorillo. a dangerous poverty stricken barrio on the outskirts of Panama City. Her brother, Javier, had been snatched from the streets six months ago, he was thirteen and beautiful.

Cosita had a high school education but earned here degree on the streets of Panama.

Interpol, the world's largest international police organization, had recruited Cosita at seventeen. She was smart, street savvy, motivated and very pretty. Just what Interpol was looking for.

Cosita would become a Drone! ~ Nick Hahn
Human Trafficking quotes by Nick Hahn
You're never too old or too damaged to make a difference. Nancy Walker ~ Nancy Jean Walker
Human Trafficking quotes by Nancy Jean Walker
Don't let those wicked men win, don't let them destroy you! ~ Gladys Lawson
Human Trafficking quotes by Gladys Lawson
The good news is that a victim of human trafficking does not have to remain a victim. ~ Asa Don Brown
Human Trafficking quotes by Asa Don Brown
Human trafficking is a human tragedy. It's an outrage against any decent people. ~ Mark Shields
Human Trafficking quotes by Mark Shields
Slavery has not been abolished, it has been sanitized ~ Bangambiki Habyarimana
Human Trafficking quotes by Bangambiki Habyarimana
Summer turns and marches away, fed up with being handled like a child. Like she's a glass doll that might break at any minute. She hasn't been a child since the day she was whipped into muteness. Anxiety might strangle her sometimes, but she's not some baby needing to be coddled. ~ Laura Kreitzer
Human Trafficking quotes by Laura Kreitzer
I want a society free of human trafficking ~ Anuradha Koirala
Human Trafficking quotes by Anuradha Koirala
The Proverbs 31 woman is a star not because of what she does but how she does it - with valor. So do your thing. If it's refurbishing old furniture - do it with valor. If it's keeping up with your two-year-old - do it with valor. If it's fighting against human trafficking ... leading a company ... or getting other people to do your work for you - do it with valor. Take risks. Work hard. Make mistakes. Get up the next morning. And surround yourself with people who will cheer you on. ~ Rachel Held Evans
Human Trafficking quotes by Rachel Held Evans
None these organizations [terrorists] could continue operating without the narcotics networks, human-trafficking and oil smuggling. Addressing it requires a truly creative global response similar to that used to stand up against Germany's aggression in World War II. ~ Ashraf Ghani
Human Trafficking quotes by Ashraf Ghani
To hell with the way the modern world thinks, she won't even try to pretend that he doesn't own her. Every touch, every move, proves his ownership, her love for him alone enslaves her in the most benevolent way. She knows that he is just as much hers as she is his, and the purest satisfaction simmers through her at that absolute truth. ~ Karen-Anne Stewart
Human Trafficking quotes by Karen-Anne Stewart
I cannot fail these girls by diverting my eyes from the invisible residue of slavery that clings to them like a shadow. ~ Marquita Burke-DeJesus
Human Trafficking quotes by Marquita Burke-DeJesus
On the question of comfort women, when my thought goes to these people, who have been victimized by human trafficking and gone through immeasurable pain and suffering beyond description, my heart aches. And on this point, my thought has not changed at all from previous prime ministers. ~ Shinzo Abe
Human Trafficking quotes by Shinzo Abe
There are people that smuggle drugs, human trafficking, and terrorism but there are throngs and throngs of people that come through that aren't seeking to hurt anyone. They just want to feed their family. ~ Myka 9
Human Trafficking quotes by Myka 9
It's so weird to live in this world. What a bizarre tension to care deeply about the refugee crisis in Syria and also about Gilmore Girls. It is so disorienting to fret over aged-out foster kids while saving money for a beach vacation. Is it even okay to have fun when there is so much suffering in our communities and churches and world? What does it say about us when we love things like sports, food, travel, and fashion in a world plagued with hunger and human trafficking? ~ Jen Hatmaker
Human Trafficking quotes by Jen Hatmaker
Human trafficking is an open wound on the body of contemporary society, a scourge upon the body of Christ ... It is a crime against humanity. ~ Pope Francis
Human Trafficking quotes by Pope Francis
I've been held down like a piece of meat while monsters disguised as men violated me again & again. ~ Gladys Lawson
Human Trafficking quotes by Gladys Lawson
I hate all men associated with stealing children, selling & sleeping with children. ~ Gladys Lawson
Human Trafficking quotes by Gladys Lawson
CATHERINE'S INTRIGUE
"Paige Edwards is a writer readers will want more of. Her exciting debut novel is destined to lead the way to more enjoyable books."
Jennie Hansen, Meridian Magazine ~ Paige Edwards
Human Trafficking quotes by Paige Edwards
No wonder prostitution is so rampant in China, I mused as I watched the four girls watch us: why stand on your feet all day for slave wages when you can get rich on your back? ~ Tom Carter
Human Trafficking quotes by Tom Carter
Let it not be said that I was silent when they needed me. ~ William Wilberforce
Human Trafficking quotes by William Wilberforce
In this great land of the free we call it human trafficking. And so long as we don't partake in the luxury, ignoring slavery is of no consequence. It is much easier to look away and ignore the victims. The person who ignores slavery justifies it by quickly deducting the victim is a willing participant hampered by misfortune. ~ D'Andre Lampkin
Human Trafficking quotes by D'Andre Lampkin
Where was the lecture on how slavery alone catapulted the whole country from agriculture into the industrial age in two decades? White folks' hatred, their violence, was the gasoline that kept the profit motors running. ~ Toni Morrison
Human Trafficking quotes by Toni Morrison
Josephine Butler (1828-1907) writes in her journals, pamphlets and diaries of the second half of the nineteenth century about seeing thousands (yes, thousands) of little girls, some as young as four or five, in the illegal brothels of London, Paris, Brussels, and Geneva ... The children had a life expectancy of two years, yet the brothel owners, frquently women, seemed to have an unlimited supply ... 'Clean' children, who were free from venereal disease, commanded a high price. All this is well documented, but strangely Mrs [sic] Butler never mentions little boys, though this branch of the trade must have been going on. ~ Jennifer Worth
Human Trafficking quotes by Jennifer Worth
I know what kind of man it takes to get involved with something as barbarous as human trafficking."
"I get it, Swopes. He's not the kind of man you take home to meet your
stepmom." I rethought that. "Wait a minute. Maybe my stepmom would like to meet him. Do you think he ships to Istanbul? ~ Darynda Jones
Human Trafficking quotes by Darynda Jones
Unfortunately, what anti-human trafficking NGOs [non-governmental organizations] really do is instead quite damaging: they normalize existent labor opportunities for women, no matter how low the pay, dangerous the conditions, or abusive an environment they foster. And they shame women who reject such jobs. ~ Anne Elizabeth Moore
Human Trafficking quotes by Anne Elizabeth Moore
Do we run from money in fear of being a slave to it? I know I did that for a while.

I don't think that's the answer, though.

I think the answer is our mission.

Are you on a mission?

Not only with your money, but with your life – are you on a mission?

I have a feeling that if we were on a mission, if we were working towards something - whether it be the end of human trafficking or abortion or poverty - if we were on a mission, we would do what ever it took. We would sell everything if it meant furthering the mission.

Money's not the problem. The problem is our heart. Money only reveals it.

Money reveals what our mission really is.

Money reveals if we care for ourselves more than we care for our neighbors. ~ Cole Ryan
Human Trafficking quotes by Cole Ryan
Rape is a vicious thing. It's not gentle or considerate. To the recipient it's violent & painful. ~ Gladys Lawson
Human Trafficking quotes by Gladys Lawson
So I was sold at last! A human being sold in the free city of New York! The bill of sale is on record, and future generations will learn from it that women were articles of traffic in New York, late in the nineteenth century of the Christian religion. ~ Harriet Ann Jacobs
Human Trafficking quotes by Harriet Ann Jacobs
Millions of our fellow human beings continue to live as contemporary slaves, victims of abominable practices like human trafficking, forced labour and sexual exploitation. Countless children are forced to become soldiers, work in sweat shops or are sold by desperate families. Women are brutalized and traded like commodities. Entire households and villages labour under debt bondage. ~ Ban Ki-moon
Human Trafficking quotes by Ban Ki-moon
Just imagine what would happen if your daughter was standing there. What would you do, how would you fight? So you have to join hands, you have to take each child as your daughter. Soon you will feel their sorrow and then you will feel the strength that comes out of you to protect them. ~ Anuradha Koirala
Human Trafficking quotes by Anuradha Koirala
American diplomats had been slow to understand the scope of the change being driven by Chinese migration to Africa. The phenomenon had been flagged in State Department cables as early as 2005, with diplomats identifying the budding, large-scale movement of people from China to Africa as part of a campaign to expand Beijing's political influence and simultaneously advance China's business interests and overall clout. These early, classified warnings also spoke of the spread, via emigration, of Chinese organized crime, particularly in smuggling and human trafficking. For the most part, however, it seemed that American diplomats were still in search of the right voice, the right message. All too often, Washington struck a paternalistic tone that came across as: Listen up children, you must be careful about these tricky Chinese. ~ Howard W. French
Human Trafficking quotes by Howard W. French
When bad things happen to men we say it's terrible, but when bad things happen to women we say that's just a cultural practice, says Lou de Baca, U.S. Ambassador at Large, Office to Combat and Monitor Human Trafficking. ~ Nita Belles
Human Trafficking quotes by Nita Belles
Did you ask to have sex with all those men? "Did you ask to be sold as a sex slave? ~ Gladys Lawson
Human Trafficking quotes by Gladys Lawson
No matter what chains are broken, slavery is a condition of the heart. ~ Marquita Burke-DeJesus
Human Trafficking quotes by Marquita Burke-DeJesus
The people of the city of Savannah within their collective conscience could follow previous examples in history and forgive the atrocities of actual slavery committed against slaves themselves. But what was it [the city] to do with the knowledge that children completely unaware of the greater ramifications of slavery were led to the Civil War slaughter in its name? How does one acknowledge with forgiveness such an unforgiving mutilation of one's own mind, body, soul, and legacy? ~ Aberjhani
Human Trafficking quotes by Aberjhani
Wicked men have done dirty things to u but never ever think that u are dirty! ~ Gladys Lawson
Human Trafficking quotes by Gladys Lawson
As I learned more about choice, and looked over the extensive evidence in all of the cases I had testified in, I realized that what was happening in the FLDS was human trafficking-both for labor and for sex. In mainstream society, money and lust are the currency. In the FLDS, salvation and position are the currency, but the forced acts of labor and sex are the same-the very definition of slavery. And whether greed or God is the currency, it is not right to own another's free agency. ~ Rebecca Musser
Human Trafficking quotes by Rebecca Musser
You sound off," he said. "Why are you whispering? I thought you and Ana were having dinner together." I bit my lip.
"It's kind of a funny story, but you have to promise not to yell."
"Why would a funny story make me yell?" he asked warily. "Well," I drawled. "I was on my way to meet up with Ana, and there was this truck parked in an alley that didn't look right. So, I left my bike on the street and went to check it out." "Jordan." I didn't need to see him to know he was pinching the bridge of his nose, something he'd been doing a lot in the last few months.
"Don't worry. They didn't see me."
His tone sharpened. "Who didn't see you?"
"The Gulaks. They were too busy loading the girls into the back." I paused as the truck slowed going around a curve. "I slipped on without them having a clue I was there."
He swore. "Do not tell me you climbed into a truck with a bunch of Gulak slavers." I scoffed softly. "Of course not. Give me some credit. I'm on the roof of the truck." He growled something, and I heard another male laughing. It sounded like Mario, one of the warriors we were working with on this job, along with his mate, Ana. We'd been in Panama for two weeks, at the request of the government, to locate and shut down a human trafficking ring. But this one was a lot more sophisticated than any other Gulak operation we'd encountered, and they'd managed to evade us completely. Until now.
"This is not a funny story," he said in an exasperated ~ Karen Lynch
Human Trafficking quotes by Karen Lynch
It's funny, because we all read history and we think, 'Oh, I would … have risen up, I would have fought, I would have been an abolitionist,' And I tell them, 'No, you wouldn't have. If you would have, you'd be doing that right now. You know trafficking exists, you've heard of it, but you don't want to look. ~ Tim Ballard (Operation Underground Railroad)
Human Trafficking quotes by Tim Ballard (Operation Underground Railroad)
Maybe slavery has been with us for centuries because of the inclination to maintain economic systems geared more toward commodifying human existence than developing its spiritual, creative, or scientific potentials. Such commodification instantly erases any recognition of humanity as a priceless value unto itself and reduces individuals as well as entire races, or a specific gender, to a bargain-priced 'other. ~ Aberjhani
Human Trafficking quotes by Aberjhani
We cannot rely upon the silenced to tell us they are suffering. ~ Hanan Ashrawi
Human Trafficking quotes by Hanan Ashrawi
Our guns were still strapped onto our backs, because a gun meant life. Without it there was no life in the LRA. After crossing the water and walking for a long time, there was a whisper in my heart, telling me that if we kept the guns we would get killed.

I was learning to listen to this gentle voice that spoke to my heart. This time what was said was hard to accept. I didn't know how I would convince my friends to throw away what seemed to be their last hope. The voice would not leave me alone. It continued to whisper in my ears to drop the guns. ~ Grace Akallo
Human Trafficking quotes by Grace Akallo
Sloan & Dex...

"You skipped puberty didn't you?"

Dex let out a wistful sigh. "It wasn't for me."

Sloane laughed as he carried Dex out of the room. "You're hopeless."

"I'm also nonrefundable."

"Surely there's a return policy."

"Forget it. You're way past the thirty-day refund period. You're stuck with me now. And before you ask, I'm also nontransferable and nonexchangeable. If you donate me to charity there's no tax write-off because technically that would be considered Human trafficking."

"Wow. You've got your bases covered."

"You bet. Should have paid more attention to the Dexter J. Daley boyfriend agreement."

Sloane dropped him onto the counter and stepped between his legs to pull him close. "I don't recall this boyfriend agreement."

"You might have been sleeping at the time, but sleep during the reading of the DJDBA is covered in the fine print. As long as you have a pulse, you're considered present and accounted for."

"Duly noted. ~ Charlie Cochet
Human Trafficking quotes by Charlie Cochet
The mental leaps from "I've got a daughter" to "she's dead" and then to "she's been murdered" could span the Grand Canyon. ~ Bob Mueller
Human Trafficking quotes by Bob Mueller
If there is money to be made, those who have no moral backbone will surely take advantage of another. ~ Asa Don Brown
Human Trafficking quotes by Asa Don Brown
The doors will be opened to those who are bold enough to knock. ~ Tony Gaskins
Human Trafficking quotes by Tony Gaskins
It is by standing up for the rights of girls and women that we truly measure up as men. ~ Desmond Tutu
Human Trafficking quotes by Desmond Tutu
Ben Skinner's brains and courage take us into the belly of the beast and expose the ugly truth of modern slavery. Instead of sensation, A Crime So Monstrous gives us desperately needed insight and analysis. This is an important book, the first deep look into America's confused relationship with human trafficking and slavery today. Skinner's balanced dissection of our government's haphazard policies will be controversial, but it can also be the foundation for a new anti-slavery agenda, one that ends the political games being played with the lives of slaves. ~ Kevin Bales
Human Trafficking quotes by Kevin Bales
help victims of human trafficking before her boss voted on it, but failed ~ Anonymous
Human Trafficking quotes by Anonymous
It's very fashionable to talk about human trafficking in this fantastic AC hall. It's very nice for discussion, discourse, making films and everything. But it is not nice to bring them to our homes. It's not nice to give them employment in our factories, our companies. It's not nice for our children to study with their children ... That's my biggest challenge. ~ Sunitha Krishnan
Human Trafficking quotes by Sunitha Krishnan
The serious crimes committed in the process of trafficking include assault and battery, rape, torture, abduction, sale of human beings, unlawful detention, murder, deprivation of labor rights, and fraud. Yet trafficking is a crime that normally goes unpunished. In the US, for example, around 17,000 people are trafficked into the country and enslaved each year. The country also has 17,000 murders annually. But the national success rate in the US for solving murder cases is about seventy percent. Compare that to the rate for human trafficking. According to the US government's own numbers, the annual percentage of trafficking and slavery cases solved is less than one percent. ~ Zoe Trodd Kevin Bales
Human Trafficking quotes by Zoe Trodd Kevin Bales
All too often, the victims of smuggling and trafficking are encouraged to engage in the use of illegal substances. ~ Asa Don Brown
Human Trafficking quotes by Asa Don Brown
I was reading voraciously about global issues such as clean water, community development, war, human trafficking, economics, disaster relief, the AIDS crisis, unjust systemic evil. Meanwhile, church budgets made room for a brand-new light show and a kickin' sound system or a trip to Disneyland or a video venue in a saturated upscale neighborhood - all in an effort to practice creative-experience marketing. ~ Sarah Bessey
Human Trafficking quotes by Sarah Bessey
In his fierce, bold determination to see the lives of modern-day slaves up close, Benjamin Skinner reminds me of the British abolitionist of two hundred years ago, Zachary Macaulay, who once traveled on a slave ship across the Atlantic, taking notes. Skinner goes everywhere, from border crossings to brothels to bargaining sessions with dealers in human beings, to bring us this vivid, searing account of the wide network of human trafficking and servitude which spans today's globe. ~ Adam Hochschild
Human Trafficking quotes by Adam Hochschild
Drug and human traffic are getting a lot more attention than illicit wildlife trafficking. And just as we need to intensify our efforts to combat drug trade and human trafficking, we also need to intensify our efforts to combat illicit wildlife trafficking ... They all need to be addressed through bold and consistent actions by the international community. ~ Robert Hormats
Human Trafficking quotes by Robert Hormats
They may use my body but my mind is free. In my mind I escape. ~ Gladys Lawson
Human Trafficking quotes by Gladys Lawson
But whenever tragedy strikes, one is left either to die or with a plethora of ifs and buts to ponder over. ~ Kudrat Dutta Chaudhary
Human Trafficking quotes by Kudrat Dutta Chaudhary
Your character will always go ahead of you and speak words - good or bad - words will be spoken. ~ Blood Borne Connections - Gladys Lawson.
Human Trafficking quotes by Blood Borne Connections - Gladys Lawson.
The Democrats are using the human trafficking bill's language that's been there for 40 years, regarding the use of federal funds for abortion. ~ Barack Obama
Human Trafficking quotes by Barack Obama
If we truly want to have world peace, we have to end human trafficking, ~ Jason Mraz
Human Trafficking quotes by Jason Mraz
One of the more fascinating things about human behavior is the degree to which we conceive of countless boundaries that constrain and inhibit us in extraordinary ways, even though they are nothing but mental constructs that, in reality, do not exist. ~ Dee Hock
Human Trafficking quotes by Dee Hock
It is almost as if the human brain were specifically designed to misunderstand Darwinism, and to find it hard to believe ~ Richard Dawkins
Human Trafficking quotes by Richard Dawkins
Who speaks of liberty while the human mind is in chains? ~ Francis Wright
Human Trafficking quotes by Francis Wright
The idea of God implies the abdication of human reason and justice; it is the most decisive negation of human liberty and necessarily ends in the enslavement of mankind both in theory and practice. ~ Mikhail Bakunin
Human Trafficking quotes by Mikhail Bakunin
The genes hold culture on a leash. The leash is very long, but inevitably values will be constrained in accordance with their effects on the human gene pool. The brain is a product of evolution. Human behavior-like the deepest capacities for emotional respone which drive and guide it-is the circuitous technique by which human genetic material has been and will be kept intact. ~ E. O. Wilson
Human Trafficking quotes by E. O. Wilson
But then the pastors and men of God can only be human,
cannot altogether be men of God; and so they have oppressed us, and burned us, and tortured us, and hence come to love palaces, and fine linen, and purple, and, alas, sometimes, mere luxury and idleness. ~ Anthony Trollope
Human Trafficking quotes by Anthony Trollope
There is no human being on earth who does not have the capacity to offer the message of peace to the world at large. But what is needed now is the soulful willingness. ~ Sri Chinmoy
Human Trafficking quotes by Sri Chinmoy
I believe our way of life is infinitely superior for every human being than any which the Communist creed can offer. ~ Margaret Thatcher
Human Trafficking quotes by Margaret Thatcher
Divine love, agape, is self-sacrificing love, which sounds difficult, as it is, and not very attractive. If the best image we have of love is of a man who's been tortured and hung upon a cross to die an excruciating death, this is something that human beings find very, very hard to understand as love. But it is the highest Christian image of love. ~ Kevin Hart
Human Trafficking quotes by Kevin Hart
For the entirety of human history, weak men have been afraid of powerful women. ~ Bree Barton
Human Trafficking quotes by Bree Barton
It occurred to me ... that aberrance is a wholly human construct. There were no such things as monsters outside the human mind. We are vain and arrogant, evolution's highest achievement and most dismal failure, prisoners of our self-awareness and the illusion that we stand in the center, that there is us and then there is everything else but us. But we do not stand apart from or above or in the middle of anything. There is nothing apart, nothing above, and the middle is everywhere - and nowhere. We are no more beautiful and essential or magnificent than an earthworm. In fact - and dare we go there, you and I? - you could say the worm is more beautiful, because it is innocent and we are not. The worm has no motive but to survive long enough to make baby worms. There is no betrayal, no cruelty, no envy, no lust, and no hatred in the worm's heart, and so who are the monsters and which species shall we call aberrant? ~ Rick Yancey
Human Trafficking quotes by Rick Yancey
American special relationships with Israel and Saudi Arabia blind us to their dreadful encroachments on human rights, as well as confer impunity on their leaders with respect to accountability for crimes against humanity. ~ Richard A. Falk
Human Trafficking quotes by Richard A. Falk
We seek in Central America not peace alone, not peace to be followed someday by political progress, but peace and democracy, together, indivisible, an end to the shedding of human blood, which is inseparable from an end to the suppression of human rights. ~ Oscar Arias
Human Trafficking quotes by Oscar Arias
Alas, we are what we are, and we need the stories, we need the public transportation, the anxiety meds, the television shows by the dozens, the music in bars and restaurants saving us from the terror of silence, the everlasting promise of brown liquor, the bathrooms in national parks, and the political catchphrases we can all shout and stick to our bumpers. ~ Jaroslav Kalfar
Human Trafficking quotes by Jaroslav Kalfar
Human beings, from a mathematical perspective, are fairly limited. Two and three dimensions, maybe five, and we're OK. ~ Usama Fayyad
Human Trafficking quotes by Usama Fayyad
Are you taking human growth hormones or something?" I snatch my hand back, fighting another rush of nervousness. "There's no way that huge man monster is fitting inside me! ~ Elle Kennedy
Human Trafficking quotes by Elle Kennedy
There is no more honorable thing any of us can do with our lives than to work to put part of the world off-limits to the activities of human beings. ~ David Foreman
Human Trafficking quotes by David Foreman
Just as nothing is more foolish than misplaced wisdom, so too, nothing is more imprudent than perverse prudence. And surely it is perverse not to adapt yourself to the prevailing circumstances, to refuse 'to do as the Romans do,' to ignore the party-goer's maxium 'take a drink or take your leave,' to insist that the play should not be a play. True prudence, on the other hand, recognizes human limitations and does not strive to leap beyond them; it is willing to run with the herd, to overlook faults tolerantly or to share them in a friendly spirit. But, they say, that is exactly what we mean by folly. (I will hardly deny it
as long as they will reciprocate by admitting that this is exactly what is means to perform the play of life.) ~ Desiderius Erasmus
Human Trafficking quotes by Desiderius Erasmus
Up from Earth's Centre through the Seventh Gate rose, and on the Throne of Saturn sate; And many a Knot unravel'd by the Road; But not the Master-knot of Human Fate. ~ Omar Khayyam
Human Trafficking quotes by Omar Khayyam
Some scholars compare human biochemistry to an air-conditioning system that keeps the temperature constant, come heatwave or snowstorm. Events might momentarily change the temperature, but the air-conditioning system always returns the temperature to the same set point. Some air-conditioning systems are set at 70 degrees Fahrenheit. Others are set at twenty degrees. Human happiness conditioning systems also differ from person to person. On a scale from one to ten, some people are born with a cheerful biochemical system that allows their mood to swing between levels six and ten, stabilising with time at eight. Such a person is quite happy even if she lives in an alienating big city, loses all her money in a stock-exchange crash and is diagnosed with diabetes. Other people are cursed with a gloomy biochemistry that swings between three and seven and stabilises at five. Such an unhappy person remains depressed even if she enjoys the support of a tight-knit community, wins millions in the lottery and is as healthy as an Olympic athlete. Indeed, even if our gloomy friend wins $50,000,000 in the morning, discovers the cure for both AIDS and cancer by noon, makes peace between Israelis and Palestinians that afternoon, and then in the evening reunites with her long-lost child who disappeared years ago - she would still be incapable of experiencing anything beyond level seven happiness. Her brain is simply not built for exhilaration, come what may. ~ Yuval Noah Harari
Human Trafficking quotes by Yuval Noah Harari
Love is the divinest attribute of the human soul. ~ David O. McKay
Human Trafficking quotes by David O. McKay
I believe, that creating is a joyful activity as well as a meaningful suffer, and thus, it is an integral part of the human nature. ~ Gabor Gürtler
Human Trafficking quotes by Gabor Gürtler
