Never did he once consider directing his hatred toward the hunters. Such an emotion would have destroyed him ... Hate Politics quotes by Toni Morrison
I read all these stories that I don't know anything about politics. But I must know something. I've had some good victories in Congress, and I've survived this town for four years. ~ Donald T. Regan
Hate Politics quotes by Donald T. Regan
If I was to direct a movie about a super-confident guy, first of all I would hate that character. I can do a super-confident guy who crashes and burns and has to rebuild himself as somebody humble. But a super-confident guy that just gets more confident and gets the girl and the money and more success? That's not interesting. ~ Louis Leterrier
Hate Politics quotes by Louis Leterrier
Rather than standing or speaking for children, we need to stand with children speaking for themselves. We don't need a political movement for children ... [we need to] build environments and policies for our collective future. ~ Sandra Meucci
Hate Politics quotes by Sandra Meucci
Once we were outside, I was so excited I could hardly stand it. "Grandmère!" I yelled.

LEADING LESSONS
Excuses hold you back.

Excuses they keep you from doing what needs to be done and from living your truth. When I was making all those lame excuses for why my performance was going to suck, I was refusing to own it. And when you don't commit wholeheartedly to a situation, you're always somewhere floating in the middle, never really operating at your full potential. We tend to make excuses when things don't go according to our original plans. Or we blame something or someone else for our mistakes. You can also make excuses for the things you don't do--why you haven't left a job you hate, followed your dream, or taken a risk. In the end, all those excuses add up to the same thing: a smoke screen. When you make an excuse, you're rejecting the truth and trying to buffer yourself from the consequences of your actions. Leaders own what they do. This was something I had to learn through experience. I saw how pawning off responsibility (like blaming a bad back for a bad performance) was not helping me improve or grow. People who constantly make excuses are often afraid they're not good enough or can't live up to others' expectations. Maybe in the beginning it makes you feel better: "If I just explain it this way, I won't look so bad." But the end result is always self-defeating. Excuses will always get in the way of a responsible life. ~ Derek Hough
Hate Politics quotes by Derek Hough
I became convinced that the advanced industrial countries, through international organizations like the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the World Trade Organization (WTO), and the World Bank, were not only not doing all that they could to help these [developing] countries but were sometimes making their life more difficult. IMF programs had clearly worsened the East Asian crisis, and the "shock therapy" they had pushed in the former Soviet Union and its satellites played an important role in the failure of the transition. ~ Joseph E. Stiglitz
Hate Politics quotes by Joseph E. Stiglitz
Yeah, this country's founding fathers are a bunch of dead rich white men, but they did set things up so you could come and sit at the table, so don't piss in the finger bowls, all right? Thank you. In return for unfettered economic opportunity and no government death squads, try to get along with your new stepmotherland, and don't be resentful if there's a set of house rules already in place. ~ Dennis Miller
Hate Politics quotes by Dennis Miller
I wouldn't say hate, exactly. You're kind of like fungus, Gwen. After a while, you just start growing on people. ~ Jennifer Estep
Hate Politics quotes by Jennifer Estep
The flag of radicalism which has been hoisted in Wolverhampton is beginning to look like the one that fluttered 25 years ago over Dachau and Belsen ~ Tony Benn
Hate Politics quotes by Tony Benn
Here is something that the psychologists have so far neglected: the love of ugliness for its own sake, the lust to make the world intolerable. Its habitat is the United States. Out of the melting pot emerges a race which hates beauty as it hates truth. ~ H.L. Mencken
Hate Politics quotes by H.L. Mencken
Rich people don't have to have a life-and-death relationship with the truth and its questions; they can ignore the truth and still thrive materially. I am not surprised many of them understand literature only as an ornament. Life is an ornament to them, relationships are ornaments, their "work" is but a flimsy, pretty ornament meant to momentarily thrill and capture attention. Why didn't I reread my F. Scott Fitzgerald sooner? I might have saved myself some time. ~ Sergio Troncoso
Hate Politics quotes by Sergio Troncoso
Dear Government ... I'm going to have a serious talk with you if I ever find anyone to talk to. ~ Stieg Larsson
Hate Politics quotes by Stieg Larsson
People hate. That's our reality. ~ Jennifer Brown
Hate Politics quotes by Jennifer Brown
Let us declare that we are a nation of interdependence, and that in America love always trumps hate. Let us declare, so that generations yet unborn can hear us. We are the United States of America; our best days are ahead of us. And together, with Hillary Clinton as our President, America, we will rise. ~ Cory Booker
Hate Politics quotes by Cory Booker
If we conceive that anyone loves, desires, or hates anything which we ourselves love, desire, or hate, we shall thereupon regard the thing in question with more steadfast love, etc. On the contrary, if we think that anyone shrinks from something that we love, we shall undergo vacillation of the soul. ~ Baruch Spinoza
Hate Politics quotes by Baruch Spinoza
It's not the cruel criticism from folks who hate us that scares us away from our Knowing; it's the quiet concern of those who love us. ~ Glennon Doyle
Hate Politics quotes by Glennon Doyle
Words got me into trouble. They are the deadliest weapons of all, so that now the gun seems almost innocent by comparison. I fired the shot to stop the words; they were so busy eating everything up. You have no idea how I hate words, how i see them winding out of people's mouths like sticky strands of a web, infinitely elastic, linking the speaker to the listener forever, and finally weaving an impermeable cocoon around the mind and then the poor, fast-beating heart itself. ~ Susan Fromberg Schaeffer
Hate Politics quotes by Susan Fromberg Schaeffer
