On the one hand, there is no reason that a black person needs to live a portion of his or her life being concerned about the people of color around him. On the other hand, if you don't you're crazy. ~ Henry Hampton
Hampton quotes by Henry Hampton
By the age of nine or ten, I knew that I loved history and writing. It got hold of me and never turned loose. ~ Hampton Sides
Hampton quotes by Hampton Sides
Design is a matter of balancing different needs and outlooks-practical and aesthetic, masculine and feminine, designer and client, dream and reality. ~ Alexa Hampton
Hampton quotes by Alexa Hampton
Always believe in yourself and never give up because you don't know what success could be right around the corner. ~ Jamie Hampton
Hampton quotes by Jamie Hampton
Working with Benny was important for me and for black musicians in general. ~ Lionel Hampton
Hampton quotes by Lionel Hampton
We ain't gonna fight no reactionary pigs who run up and down the street being reactionary; we're gonna organize and dedicate ourselves to revolutionary political power and teach ourselves the specific needs of resisting the power structure, arm ourselves, and we're gonna fight reactionary pigs with international proletarian revolution. That's what it has to be. The people have to have the power: it belongs to the people. ~ Fred Hampton
Hampton quotes by Fred Hampton
I like L.A., but I think what's changed is that the kinds of films I do, the mid-range dramatic film, has become an endangered species. ~ Christopher Hampton
Hampton quotes by Christopher Hampton
If you walk through life and don't help anybody, you haven't had much of a life ~ Fred Hampton
Hampton quotes by Fred Hampton
As he saw it, the central issue had shifted from the purely racial to the economic. King likened the situation to a lifelong prisoner who is released from jail after the warden discovers that the man was falsely accused all along. "Go ahead, you're free now," the jailer says. But the prisoner has no job skills, no prospects, and the jailer doesn't think to give him money for the bus fare into town. ~ Hampton Sides
Hampton quotes by Hampton Sides
If you take a really good book, then the potential is for a really good film. But you've got to get it right. ~ Christopher Hampton
Hampton quotes by Christopher Hampton
10 ways to raise a wild child. Not everyone wants to raise wild, free thinking children. But for those of you who do, here's my tips:

1. Create safe space for them to be outside for a least an hour a day. Preferable barefoot & muddy.

2. Provide them with toys made of natural materials. Silks, wood, wool, etc...Toys that encourage them to use their imagination. If you're looking for ideas, Google: 'Waldorf Toys'. Avoid noisy plastic toys. Yea, maybe they'll learn their alphabet from the talking toys, but at the expense of their own unique thoughts. Plastic toys that talk and iPads in cribs should be illegal. Seriously!

3. Limit screen time. If you think you can manage video game time and your kids will be the rare ones that don't get addicted, then go for it. I'm not that good so we just avoid them completely. There's no cable in our house and no video games. The result is that my kids like being outside cause it's boring inside...hah! Best plan ever! No kid is going to remember that great day of video games or TV. Send them outside!

4. Feed them foods that support life. Fluoride free water, GMO free organic foods, snacks free of harsh preservatives and refined sugars. Good oils that support healthy brain development. Eat to live!

5. Don't helicopter parent. Stay connected and tuned into their needs and safety, but don't hover. Kids like adults need space to roam and explore without the constant voice of an adult ~ Brooke Hampton
Hampton quotes by Brooke Hampton
For poverty is miserable. It is ugly, disorganized, rowdy, sick, uneducated, violent, afflicted with crime. Poverty demeans human dignity. The demanding tone, the inarticulateness, the implied violence deeply offended us. We didn't want to see it on our sacred monumental grounds. We wanted it out of sight and out of mind. ~ Hampton Sides
Hampton quotes by Hampton Sides
The Navajos were another matter. Theirs was a sprawling nation, wealthy in stock, obdurate in its ways, open to change but only on its terms. ~ Hampton Sides
Hampton quotes by Hampton Sides
I don't eat & drink good clean food because I want my body to look more like Taylor Swift's. Actually, I am among a rare breed of humans that knows my worth is not determined by the size of my ass. That said, I eat and drink clean food because I love myself. Besides, when I eat shitty food, I feel like shit. Period. When I eat refined sugar and a bunch of processed foods, my mind gets all foggy and my body feels lethargic.
No thanks! I mean, how am I supposed to change the world for the better feeling like that? ~ Brooke Hampton
Hampton quotes by Brooke Hampton
When De Long arrived in California with Emma that May, he went straight down to the yard and feasted his eyes upon his new ship. He was smitten by the transformation that had taken place during his absence. "I am perfectly satisfied with her," he wrote. "She is everything I want. ~ Hampton Sides
Hampton quotes by Hampton Sides
Give me the discipline to get rid of the stuff that's not important, the freedom to savor the stuff that gives me joy, and the patience not to worry about the stuff that's messy but not hurting anybody. ~ Vinita Hampton Wright
Hampton quotes by Vinita Hampton Wright
I'm sorry, I will not change what I am or pretend to be something else just so that you will like me. Why? Because I don't want to wake up one day and realize that everyone likes me...except me! ~ Brooke Hampton
Hampton quotes by Brooke Hampton
I'm a romanticist in many ways. I never get behind the wheel of my boat and dropping the anchor without saying to myself, secretly giving my orders to the crew "All right, lift the anchor, we're on our way to South Hampton. We're gonna beat them there with this load of tea!" ~ Walter Cronkite
Hampton quotes by Walter Cronkite
You might make people uncomfortable,
even those you love them most and it will hurt.
The masses will likely misunderstand you and as a result they will judge you and even lash out at you and you may have to walk alone sometimes.
Your joy, your freedom and your magic will infuriate those who feel trapped in a life they secretly hate.
When your truth threatens someones belief system, they will come at you like a storm and you will have to stand and let them roar all around you.
If you're creating change, the people benefiting from the current system will likely try to stop you. Be brave. Stand. Hold space for change.
Keep writing. Keep dancing. Keep singing. Keep shining your light on the world.
We need your beauty and your truth.
We need you- the real you! ~ Brooke Hampton
Hampton quotes by Brooke Hampton
The privilege isn't given to everyone. ... You must have suffered first, have suffered greatly, have gained some miserable knowledge. In that way your eyes are opened to it. - Henry James, 1881 ~ Hampton Sides
Hampton quotes by Hampton Sides
Have you somewhere else to be, George?" "Hmm?" His friend snapped to attention and grinned. "Anywhere but here. No offense intended, old man, but I tire of watching you glower at them. If you don't intend to relinquish Lady Oh to Fairchild, why did you invite him?" "Because he looked so woebegone when I had coffee with him the other day. Mrs. Hampton has not let her granddaughter see anyone but my family these weeks, and apparently the colonel felt her withdrawal acutely." Ben, on the other hand, had been allowed to watch her bruise change color under the rouge. Each shade proved a twist to the knife in his gut. Yes, it would be better for all if Fairchild were given the chance to declare himself. George clapped a hand to his shoulder. "Well, cheer up, my friend. If his expression is any indication, he may propose tonight, and then you will no longer be plagued by indecisiveness, what with him removing all decision from your hands." "Indeed." Blast it. ~ Roseanna M. White
Hampton quotes by Roseanna M. White
Keep a minimum of 15 between coffee tables and sofas ~ Alexa Hampton
Hampton quotes by Alexa Hampton
We do not see things as they are. We see things as we are. Anais Nin ~ Debbie Hampton
Hampton quotes by Debbie Hampton
We had, I felt, bared small pieces of our symmetrical souls to each other, fast, as if playing one of those breathless card games, and I had pretended to be as moved as I had been the first time I uncovered it all myself, back in East Hampton. ~ Olivia Sudjic
Hampton quotes by Olivia Sudjic
All art is communication of the artists' ideas, sounds, thoughts; without that no one will support the artist. ~ Lionel Hampton
Hampton quotes by Lionel Hampton
Switching to 'Renewables' generates jobs, skills, purpose, power, wealth, future, resilience, autonomy, freedom, unity: Sustainable Society ~ Dave Hampton
Hampton quotes by Dave Hampton
The FBI's search for MLK's killer began, a manhunt that would become the largest in American history, ~ Hampton Sides
Hampton quotes by Hampton Sides
Each year over 2,500 commercial vessels enter the Port of Hampton Roads alone, so adequate funding for port security is a significant issue for those of us who live in Richmond and Hampton Roads. ~ Bobby Scott
Hampton quotes by Bobby Scott
Risk is relative. And relative to the imminent planetary 'game over' neon sign that's starting to flicker above our children's heads, just as they are preparing for a full life ahead ... now that's what you call risk! ~ Dave Hampton
Hampton quotes by Dave Hampton
But here's the thing: once you become a parent ... once you start feeling a little funny and you buy a pregnancy test ... once you see a pink plus sign ... once you know it's not just you anymore ... well, you automatically carry around, for the rest of your life, an increased likelihood of having your heart broken. And it's a constant fear that we struggle to put to rest. We can choose to be afraid or we can choose to live. And I choose to live. Because an increased likelihood of having your heart broken also carries with it an increased likelihood of finding yourself the happiest you've ever been in life. ~ Kelle Hampton
Hampton quotes by Kelle Hampton
A great number of the disappointments and mishaps of the troubled world are the direct result of literature and the allied arts. It is our belief that no human being who devotes his life and energy to the manufacture of fantasies can be anything but fundamentally inadequate. ~ Christopher Hampton
Hampton quotes by Christopher Hampton
The Vikings need to go down there and hit that town like Katrina. ~ Dan Hampton
Hampton quotes by Dan Hampton
We've got to face the fact that some people say you fight fire best with fire, but we say you put fire out best with water. We say you don't fight racism with racism. We're gonna fight racism with solidarity. ~ Fred Hampton
Hampton quotes by Fred Hampton
You're gonna have to keep on saying that - I am the proletariat, I am the people. I am not the pig. You've got to make a distinction. ~ Fred Hampton
Hampton quotes by Fred Hampton
I was always moved by all of the music. As a young man, Duke Ellington and Lionel Hampton, Count Basie and all these great musicians would come through our town of Memphis. There wasn't adequate hotels, so these musicians - the lady who ran the theater knew my mother, who had a large house, and many of them would stay with us. So that was another great blessing, so I'm always around these great geniuses, and to realize their humanity is such a touching thing. ~ Charles Lloyd
Hampton quotes by Charles Lloyd
Hell on earth: A crowded room with no books, no music and not a soul around that understands you. ~ Brooke Hampton
Hampton quotes by Brooke Hampton
Remember the power is not in the leader of the group, but in the Creator of the universe. ~ Teresa Hampton
Hampton quotes by Teresa Hampton
I don't know if I like communism, and I don't know if I like socialism. But I know that the Breakfast for Children Program feeds my kids. And if you put your hands on that Breakfast for Children Program ... ~ Fred Hampton
Hampton quotes by Fred Hampton
I don't want perfect, because I'm not. I want faith, balance, peace and understanding. ~ Christine J. Hampton
Hampton quotes by Christine J. Hampton
The amount of time it took me to get a show like 'Shameless' was definitely worth it because of the people and the material. I can appreciate it because I know what it's like when I didn't have a show. ~ Shanola Hampton
Hampton quotes by Shanola Hampton
From his legs like an untethered weight. In their thousands the parasites ~ Hampton Sides
Hampton quotes by Hampton Sides
I love comedy, but I actually do prefer drama because I am already animated as a human being. ~ Shanola Hampton
Hampton quotes by Shanola Hampton
The exodus of this whole people from the land of their fathers is a touching sight," Carleton wrote. "They have fought us gallantly for years on years; they have defended their mountains and their stupendous canyons with heroism; but at length, they found it was their destiny, too, to give way to the insatiable progress of our race. ~ Hampton Sides
Hampton quotes by Hampton Sides
I don't eat healthy because I'm trying to avoid death. Death does not scare me. I am, however, terrified of dying before I am dead. I have a strong desire to make the best of the time I have here.
Living foods straight from the Earth help my body thrive, my imagination soar and my mind stay clear. It's about quality of life for me. I feel the best when I eat a diet free of pesticides, chemicals, GMOs and refined sugars.
Growing herbs and making my own medicine helps me stay connected to the Earth; hence, helping me connect with my true purpose here.

I have work to do here! I choose to leave this planet more beautiful than I found it and eating magical foods gives me the energy and inspiration I need to do my work. ~ Brooke Hampton
Hampton quotes by Brooke Hampton
A creator used to create'

You got me young...
You told what to want;
you showed me in your movies and your shows.
And I faithfully did your work.
I created...
I willingly clipped my wings and built myself a golden cage and you smiled and said, "well done."
I let your fear tactics rule my actions until I could no longer hear my heart song.
I took your medication and I ate your poison until my body was too sick to fight back.
Ah, but I'm onto your game.
I see it now and my only regret is that I didn't see it sooner.
I made a life for myself only to realize it's never really what I wanted. My soul didn't want this hectic, materialistic life- your greed and your thirst for power wanted this.
I don't belong here, but you've always known that, haven't you?
You figured if you kept me caged long enough, kept me sick enough, kept me scared enough that I would eventually forget what I am.
You slipped up with this one.
So, hear me now.
You had your fun with me, but I've had about enough of your bullshit for one lifetime.
Watch me fly. ~ Brooke Hampton
Hampton quotes by Brooke Hampton
You know, through pain, you learn a lot about yourself
things you thought you never knew you wanted to learn. And it's kind of like those animals that regrow a part of their body
like a starfish. You might not feel it. You might not even want to grow, but you will. You'll grow that part that broke off, and that growing, that blooming
cannot happen without the pain. ~ Kelle Hampton
Hampton quotes by Kelle Hampton
I feel honored to have been a part of that dramatic change. ~ Lionel Hampton
Hampton quotes by Lionel Hampton
I always divide people into two groups. Those who live by what they know to be a lie, and those who live by what they believe, falsely, to be the truth. ~ Christopher Hampton
Hampton quotes by Christopher Hampton
There's a special place in hell for men who convince women their intuition is insecurity to protect their duplicity. ~ Dream Hampton
Hampton quotes by Dream Hampton
I watch every 'Real Housewives' franchise there is. ~ Shanola Hampton
Hampton quotes by Shanola Hampton
to plan for a return to the Arctic. One ~ Hampton Sides
Hampton quotes by Hampton Sides
What did he do?" he murmured.
"He said something about if his words didn't put me in my place, he would find something that would. And then he slapped me."
Bram abruptly regretted not making use of the knife he'd carried in his boot to the Hampton soiree. He could understand Cosgrove desiring her and wanting to control her. But to strike her... Bram was accustomed to being angry; he'd spent most of the past ten years in varying states of it. What he felt as he listened to Rosamund, though, to the shake of her words and the despair in her voice, was deeper and hotter than anything he'd ever experienced. Plainly and simply, it was fury. White-hot, blood-boiling fury.
"Hope that he enjoyed hitting you, Rosamund," he said in a low voice, "because he will never touch you again. ~ Suzanne Enoch
Hampton quotes by Suzanne Enoch
Dear Friend-- My partner, Will Geary, got to putting on airs and I shot him and he is dead. The potatoes is looking well. Yours truly, Snookum Jim. ~ Bruce Hampton
Hampton quotes by Bruce Hampton
I don't want to do the show anymore. I've had enough exposure. It was sort of fun the first season but then Boyd went and ruined everything. He completely humiliated me.
Boyd - as in Boydell Hampton - the preacher's son with the baby face and the mile-wide naughty streak. The kind of guy who talked poetically about being a missionary but who was really far more interested in exploring the missionary position. And every other position he could think of. ~ Tracy Brogan
Hampton quotes by Tracy Brogan
I don't know which hurt more: his rejection, his punch, or my own elder siblings laughing at my pain. ~ Dorothy Hampton Marcus
Hampton quotes by Dorothy Hampton Marcus
In the words of Yellowstone Park's wolf biologist Michael Phillips, wolf conservation has become "a dramatic expression of the goodness of the human spirit. It shows that we respect the rights of other life-forms, even when they may cause problems. It shows that we are capable and committed to correcting the mistakes of the past. Wolf restoration is a touchstone for measuring our reverence for what we have inherited and for the legacy we leave our children. ~ Bruce Hampton
Hampton quotes by Bruce Hampton
Through pain and growth, I have come to appreciate -no, more than that-I've come to love my fence, even though it may be different than the neighbors'. The concept of perfection is not flawless or ripped from a magazine. It's happiness. Happiness with all itsmessiness and not-quite-thereness. It's knowing that life is short, and the moments we choose to fill our cup wiht should be purposeful and rich. That we should be present for life, that we should drink deeply. And that's perfection. And my dad and my mom and my family-my past, present, and future with Nella, what the world may view as broken or damaged-have taught me what true beauty really is. ~ Kelle Hampton
Hampton quotes by Kelle Hampton
If a hug represented how much I loved you, I would hold you in my arms forever. ~ Mandy Hampton
Hampton quotes by Mandy Hampton
I worked hard learning harmony and theory when I was growing up in Chicago in the 1920s. ~ Lionel Hampton
Hampton quotes by Lionel Hampton
Never waste your time trying to explain who you are to people who are committed to misunderstanding you. ~ Dream Hampton
Hampton quotes by Dream Hampton
Women occupied many of the cubicles; they answered phones and sat in front of typewriters, but they also made hieroglyphic marks on transparent slides and conferred with my father and other men in the office on the stacks of documents that littered their desks. That so many of them were African American, many of them my grandmother's age, struck me as simply a part of the natural order of things: growing up in Hampton, the face of science was brown like mine. ~ Margot Lee Shetterly
Hampton quotes by Margot Lee Shetterly
Gratitude is when memory is stored in the heart and not in the mind. ~ Lionel Hampton
Hampton quotes by Lionel Hampton
I like people who get excited about the change of seasons, the sound of the ocean, watching a sunset, the smell of rain and starry nights. ~ Brooke Hampton
Hampton quotes by Brooke Hampton
It's okay. Don't feel bad. Stop beating yourself up. Nothing lasts forever. People come and people go. We cross paths, sometimes even travel together for a bit- to learn from each other. Stop trying to hold onto what is no longer meant to be. Yes, sometimes we need to stay even when it doesn't feel good because we still have something to learn, something to do there. But our souls will die if they stay in places they don't belong. You know the difference. Listen to your heart. If you stay when you've been told to go, you'll stop growing! Go! Give yourself permission to outgrow people and places.
It's okay. ~ Brooke Hampton
Hampton quotes by Brooke Hampton
So I always figured I'd still be playing at this age. ~ Lionel Hampton
Hampton quotes by Lionel Hampton
I find I have to give myself a day when I just shut myself off and do nothing but read. ~ Christopher Hampton
Hampton quotes by Christopher Hampton
Little Junior Hampton was called Little Junior Hampton because his father was Big Junior Hampton, and his grandfather was Old Junior Hampton. ~ Tracy Brogan
Hampton quotes by Tracy Brogan
I believe I'm going to die doing the things I was born to do. I believe I'm going to die high off the people. I believe I'm going to die a revolutionary in the international revolutionary proletarian struggle. ~ Fred Hampton
Hampton quotes by Fred Hampton
I think I love it more as I get older because I keep getting better on drums, vibes and piano. ~ Lionel Hampton
Hampton quotes by Lionel Hampton
The Tea Party has very close affinities with independent third-party movements like the George Wallace movement. The Tea Party is still inchoate, still trying to figure out what it's going to become. ~ Hampton Sides
Hampton quotes by Hampton Sides
For some people, the beginning is a time of complete chaos. You see bits and pieces of what is before you. You have a sense of what it is you must set out to do. But nothing will form yet. When you sit down to write or paint or form movement, it's like stepping over a cliff or into a dense fog. All you can do is trust that this impending masterpiece is going to somehow manifest itself as you work. But you do know that there is something specific ahead, and you feel the excitement of that. ~ Vinita Hampton Wright
Hampton quotes by Vinita Hampton Wright
Black and white players hadn't appeared together in public before Teddy Wilson and I began working with B.G. ~ Lionel Hampton
Hampton quotes by Lionel Hampton
Wolves, declared the document, like all other wildlife "have a right to exist in a wild state," one that "derives from the right of all living creatures to co-exist with man as part of natural ecosystems. ~ Bruce Hampton
Hampton quotes by Bruce Hampton
Benny Goodman, Louis Armstrong, Dizzy Gillespie, Billy Eckstine, Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Paul Whiteman, Tommy Dorsey and his Orchestra, Lionel Hampton, the Mills Brothers, Woody Herman, and Nat King Cole. "Mona Lisa, men have named you, ~ George Hodgman
Hampton quotes by George Hodgman
I felt as we floundered aimlessly about in the snow that it made little difference to me whether I lived or died. It seemed to me that the terrible journey would have no end. I was awake and aware of all that was transpiring around me, but had lost all feeling and power of speech, and existed like an animated dead man. ~ Hampton Sides
Hampton quotes by Hampton Sides
You always have more brain cells than you're currently using. ~ Vinita Hampton Wright
Hampton quotes by Vinita Hampton Wright
Don't be good, be great. Strive to be exceptional. Picture yourself making a great play. Don't let anyone stop you. ~ Dan Hampton
Hampton quotes by Dan Hampton
I will travel with my kids as much as possible and as far as possible.
And I don't mean traveling to Disney World or the Great Wolf Lodge, but travel deep into the heart of communities around the world.
I want my children to experience this world outside of the little box they were born in.
I choose to surround my kids with people who are different than them. People who see the world from a entirely new perspective than what they've been accustomed to. I want them to see a variety of different kinds of normal and learn to see that our differences as humans are not something to be afraid of.
I don't want them to grow up scared of new traditions and cultures, but rather, to embrace what they can learn from them. People often scold me saying, "your kids need roots, they need a religion and traditions of their own."
My response is this, "the world will be their roots and they will grow to see the beauty in all religions and traditions. Why must they pick one? Why not let ALL the colors of the world and all of our differences be part of who they are? ~ Brooke Hampton
Hampton quotes by Brooke Hampton
My incomparable beloved,
Seven months you have been gone, and I fear you will never return. I await your brief, infrequent letters like a boy, desperate for any small indication that you remember I exist, hoping for evidence that you tire of that foreign land where you now live. I read your missives a hundred times for the slightest intimation that you will be coming home. The part of my mind that does nothing but wait grows daily, and soon nothing will be left to attend to life's duties. One word, my love, just one; that is all I seek. One word to let me know that you will not stay away forever, and that I will at least have your presence and friendship in my life, even if I can never have your passion and your love.
Julian Hampton to Penelope, Countess of Glasbury ~ Madeline Hunter
Hampton quotes by Madeline Hunter
Teaching is so rewarding because when you see the look on student's faces when they get it, when you're able to excite them about what you're excited about; it's so rewarding, and it's so much fun. ~ Shanola Hampton
Hampton quotes by Shanola Hampton
America is an archipelago of tribes, a land where people form national families of kindred spirits. ~ Hampton Sides
Hampton quotes by Hampton Sides
Let's just enjoy what we have now and worry about tomorrow when tomorrow comes. ~ James Hampton
Hampton quotes by James Hampton
It's great to get out of the study and work with real living and breathing people. ~ Christopher Hampton
Hampton quotes by Christopher Hampton
If Mary had applied for a job as janitor, the doors to the school would swing wide open. As a professional engineer-in-training with a plan to occupy the building for the nefarious purpose of advancing her education, she needed to petition the city of Hampton for "special permission" to attend classes in the whites-only school. Mary ~ Margot Lee Shetterly
Hampton quotes by Margot Lee Shetterly
What drives people to public service is a sense of possibility. If you haven't sensed that possibility you don't get started in the same way, you don't feel you can have an impact. ~ Henry Hampton
Hampton quotes by Henry Hampton
We see through the inspired pages that Jesus often stopped His very important, very urgent work, the work He was sent to do, in order to commune with His Father. It appears prayer was as vital to the Son of God as breathing air. ~ Teresa Hampton
Hampton quotes by Teresa Hampton
My lord, I cannot thank you enough for what you've done for my daughters," he muttered. Lucien had paid Roland's debts, however it had cost her father his freedom to allow Lucien to do so. Their agreement ~ Denise Hampton
Hampton quotes by Denise Hampton
I think of America not so much as a single country but as a constellation of groups out there competing for air time, energetically expressing themselves and luxuriating in their right to govern themselves. Freedom is that great vaunted word that's always applied to our country - and rightly so. ~ Hampton Sides
Hampton quotes by Hampton Sides
Perhaps the rhinos and she-crocodiles whose gyrations between Mortimer's and East Hampton gives us our vision of social eminence today are content to entrust their faces to Andy Warhol's mingily cosmetic Polaroidising, but one would bet they would rather go to Sargent. ~ Robert Hughes
Hampton quotes by Robert Hughes
But Olson had learned that being a wolf advocate wasn't easy, for "the politics of wolf preservation and the science of studying wolves is more vicious and complicated than any wolf pack I've had the pleasure of studying. ~ Bruce Hampton
Hampton quotes by Bruce Hampton
Victory is the child of preparation and determination. ~ Sean Hampton
Hampton quotes by Sean Hampton
I love Memphis, I guess you could say, in the way that you love a brother even if he does sometimes puzzle and sadden and frustrate you. Say what you want about it, it's an authentic place. I was born and raised in Memphis, and no matter where I go, Memphis belongs to me, and I to it. ~ Hampton Sides
Hampton quotes by Hampton Sides
Admire other people's beauty and talent without questioning your own. Let people live their truth without it threatening yours. Be truly happy when others are blessed. Learn from everyone, but compare yourself to no-one. Stop striving to be better than others and just work toward being better than who you were yesterday. Don't waste time pointing out other people's flaws or you won't have enough time to focus on all of yours. ~ Brooke Hampton
Hampton quotes by Brooke Hampton
Despite its misrepresentations, Mowat's book shattered many myths and untruths that had hung about the wolf's neck for centuries. Mowat's wolves weren't savage brutes, but instead were playful and social creatures, good and protective parents --animals entirely ill-deserving of the treatment they had received. ~ Bruce Hampton
Hampton quotes by Bruce Hampton
The coolest gift I've ever gotten from a fan was from the Franklin Mint. It was a knife, and it had a picture of General Wade Hampton, who my oldest son is named after. It's a collector's item and came with a case and a stand and everything. ~ Josh Turner
Hampton quotes by Josh Turner
People seemed to hold that the one sole end of the entire establishment of public office was to elect one man like Sheriff Hampton big enough or at least with sense and character enough to run the county and then fill the rest of the jobs with cousins and inlaws who had failed to make a living at everything else they ever tried. ~ William Faulkner
Hampton quotes by William Faulkner
Leaders today would do well to model the heart of the second king of Israel, one who did not seek his own will, one who readily confessed sin and shortcomings, and one who allowed God to mold him into a powerful influence. David had a willing heart and willing hands, and he was willing to lead! ~ Teresa Hampton
Hampton quotes by Teresa Hampton
I am pieces of all the places I have been,
and the people I have loved. I've been stitched together by song lyrics, book quotes, adventure, late night conversations, moonlight, and the smell of coffee. ~ Brooke Hampton
Hampton quotes by Brooke Hampton
I find there's a thin, permeable membrane between journalism and history, and though some academic historians take a dim view of it, I gather a lot of strength and professional inspiration from passing back and forth across it. ~ Hampton Sides
Hampton quotes by Hampton Sides
Know the strength of the followers and tap into their energy. Get others involved. Trust them to do their best. Finally, don't forget to praise the workers. ~ Teresa Hampton
