You know what pisses me off about time? It only lets us experience it once, yet it lasts forever. ~ Dean Blake
Generation End quotes by Dean Blake
Start the good job today by your self and let the generation end it tomorrow by them selves. ~ Issah Awal
Generation End quotes by Issah Awal
On my US tour maybe three out of 30 shows there was an Elvis impersonator in the crowd but that's it. I usually get younger fans, and those that come that are of an older generation end up walking out because it's too loud. ~ Lisa Marie Presley
Generation End quotes by Lisa Marie Presley
I wait for relief to come, but instead I feel worse. That's because doing the right thing is like medicine. It may taste awful, but you know it's good for you and that in the end you'll be better off. ~ Kathy McCullough
Generation End quotes by Kathy McCullough
Sometimes silences are pregnant and sometimes not. It is hard to know what to make of the silence of much of the New Testament about the Lord's Supper. Perhaps it is simply an accident of time and circumstance. There was not a felt need to address the matter. What we should not likely conclude is that it was not seen as an important matter in the latter part of the first century A.D. What we can observe is that the Lord's Supper continued to be an in-home ceremony taken in the context of a fellowship meal. We also now know it was important in both Gentile and Jewish contexts in the church in the second half of the first century, and beyond. We see no evidence anywhere in this material that clerics of any kind are in charge of the meal and its distribution. Even in the Didache, prophets, who were mouthpieces for God, are only allowed to say the thanksgiving prayer as often as they like. The low ecclesiology, coupled with the ever-present eschatology, suggest that the Didache does indeed go back to the end of the first century A.D. But one precedent in the Didache does stand out: the Lord's Supper is for baptized Christians, and in particular for those who repent of their sins. We are on the way to the church of the Middle Ages in some respects, but we have not begun to localize or confine grace to the elements of the Lord's Supper itself and then have it controlled by clerics. ~ Ben Witherington III
Generation End quotes by Ben Witherington III
The time is not there for us to act any more, the time we waited for is here right now for us to act brightly and create a bright future, for the future coming generations. ~ Auliq Ice
Generation End quotes by Auliq Ice
today my heart was ripped in two
one half for me, one half for you
take a half and keep it near
i have mine and will always be here
crossing paths before the end
once a lover, forever a friend ~ Connor Franta
Generation End quotes by Connor Franta
when your soul-mate dies, you are cursed to live apart for as long as you live. Yet your love with him/her will last forever, until the end of all. ~ Katlyn13
Generation End quotes by Katlyn13
I am big believer in breastfeeding. My oldest was breastfed for 9 months, my second for 6 months and I will try to nurse Kayla for 6 months. At the end of the day, it's a big sacrifice but you have healthier kids. ~ Deborah Cox
Generation End quotes by Deborah Cox
England was alive, throbbing through all her estuaries, crying for joy through the mouths of all her gulls, and the north wind, with contrary motion, blew stronger against her rising seas. What did it mean? For what end are her fair complexities, her changes of soil, her sinuous coast? Does she belong to those who have moulded her and made her feared by other lands, or to those who have added nothing to her power, but have somehow seen her, seen the whole island at once, lying as a jewel in a silver sea, sailing as a ship of souls, with all the brave world's fleet accompanying her towards eternity? ~ E. M. Forster
Generation End quotes by E. M. Forster
We've got something," I said, starting down the stairs again. "We've got a killer at large in this goddamned building. As for Madison Tyler, we've got another dead end. ~ James Patterson
Generation End quotes by James Patterson
I want a life that sizzles and pops and makes me laugh out loud. And I don't want to get to the end, or to tomorrow, even, and realize that my life is a collection of meetings and pop cans and errands and receipts and dirty dishes. I want to eat cold tangerines and sing out loud in the car with the windows open and wear pink shoes and stay up all night laughing and paint my walls the exact color of the sky right now. I want to sleep hard on clean white sheets and throw parties and eat ripe tomatoes and read books so good they make me jump up and down, and I want my everyday to make God belly laugh, glad that he gave life to someone who loves the gift. ~ Shauna Niequist
Generation End quotes by Shauna Niequist
He knew a broken cat when he saw one; this was the end of Bluestar's leadership, even if he hadn't managed to take her last lives. ~ Erin Hunter
Generation End quotes by Erin Hunter
As long as you end up with the opportunities and credit you need. You ~ Kate White
Generation End quotes by Kate White
An ordinary mistake is one that leads to a dead end, while a profound mistake is one that leads to progress. Anyone can make an ordinary mistake, but it takes a genius to make a profound mistake. ~ Frank Wilczek
Generation End quotes by Frank Wilczek
O' beautiful for spacious skies
But now those skies are threatening
They're beating plowshares into swords
For this tired old man that we elected king
Armchair warriors often fail
And we've been poisoned by these fairy tales
The lawyers clean up all details
Since daddy had to lie
But I know a place where we can go
And wash away this sin
We'll sit and watch the clouds roll by
And the tall grass wave in the wind
Just lay your head back on the ground
And let your hair spill all around me
Offer up your best defence
But this is the end
This is the end of the innocence ~ Don Henley
Generation End quotes by Don Henley
We all have experiences in our lives that change us, and we all learn from people, like my dad, but at the end of the day, it's only us. And we're only responsible to make ourselves happy. ~ Tom Brady
Generation End quotes by Tom Brady
I valued that half-dream state of being lost in a book so much that I limited the number of pages I let myself read each day in order to put off the inevitable end, my banishment from that world ~ Allison Hoover Bartlett
Generation End quotes by Allison Hoover Bartlett
I did not want to raise a genetically compromised child. I did not want my children to have to contend with the massive diversion of parental attention, and the consequences of being compelled to care for their brother after I died. I wanted a genetically perfect baby, and because that was something I could control, I chose to end his life. ~ Ayelet Waldman
Generation End quotes by Ayelet Waldman
Shortness of life was a primary force in the permanence of institutions, strange though it is to say it. But it is so much easier to hold onto whatever short-term survival scheme you have, rather than risking it all on a new plan that might not work - no matter how destructive your short-term plan might be for the following generations. Let them deal with it, you know. And really, to give them their due, by the time people learned the system they were old and dying, and for the next generation it was all there, massive and entrenched and having to be learned all over again. ~ Kim Stanley Robinson
Generation End quotes by Kim Stanley Robinson
Things don't go away. They become you. There is no end, as T.S. Eliot somewhere says, but addition: the trailing consequence of further days and hours. No freedom from the past, or from the future.
But we keep making our way, as we have to. We're all pretty much able to deal even with the worst that life can fire at us, if we simply admit that it is very difficult. I think that's the whole of the answer. We make our way, and effort and time give us cushion and dignity. And as we age, we're riding higher in the saddle, seeing more terrain. ~ Darin Strauss
Generation End quotes by Darin Strauss
In the great cities we see so little of the world, we drift into our minority. In the little towns and villages there are no minorities ; people are not numerous enough. You must see the world there, perforce. Every man is himself a class; every hour carries its new challenge. When you pass the inn at the end of the village you leave your favourite whimsy behind you; for you will meet no one who can share it. We listen to eloquent speaking, read books and write them, settle all the affairs of the universe. The dumb village multitudes pass on unchanging; the feel of the spade in the hand is no different for all our talk: good seasons and bad follow each other as of old. The dumb multitudes are no more concerned with us than is the old horse peering through the rusty gate of the village pound. The ancient map-makers wrote across unexplored regions, 'Here are lions.' Across the villages of fishermen and turners of the earth, so different are these from us, we can write but one line that is certain, 'Here are ghosts. ~ W.B. Yeats
Generation End quotes by W.B. Yeats
Stop that Stuart," Patty said as Stuart struggled with the suitcases, which were too heavy for him, she thought. (Almost everything was way too heavy for Stuart.)" Just put those down. Besides," Patty said, "where will you go? You don't have anyplace to go." But Stuart took her hand and held it for a moment against his closed eyes, and despite the many occasions when Patty had wanted him to go, and the several occasions when she had tried to make him go, despite the fact that he was at his most enragingly pathetic, for once she could think of nothing, nothing at all that he could be trying to shame her into or shame her out of, and so it occurred to her that this he would really leave---that he was simply saying good-bye. All along, Patty had been unaware that time is as adhesive as love, and that the more time you spend with someone the greater the likelihood of finding yourself with a permanent sort of thing to deal with that people casually refer to as "friendship," as if that were the end of the matter, when the truth is that even if "your friend" does something annoying, or if you and "your friend" decided that you hate each other, or if "your friend" moves away and you lose each other's address, you still have a friendship, and although it can change shape, look different in different lights, become an embarrassment or an encumbrance or a sorrow, it can't simply cease to have existed, no matter how far into the past it sinks, so attempts to disavow or destroy it will not ~ Deborah Eisenberg
Generation End quotes by Deborah Eisenberg
At heart, this perfect storm involves the collision of an older generation of American engineers and scientists who are retiring at the same time that a younger generation is not stepping into their shoes in sufficient numbers - and at the same time that the foreigners who used to make up the difference are either staying home or being kept out of America for security reasons. ~ Thomas L. Friedman
Generation End quotes by Thomas L. Friedman
Life is full of luck, like getting dealt a good hand, or simply by being in the right place at the right time. Some people get luck handed to them, a second chance, a save. It can happen heroically, or by a simple coincidence , but there are those who don't get luck on a shiny platter, who end up in the wrong place at the wrong time, who don't get saved. ~ Jessica Sorensen
Generation End quotes by Jessica Sorensen
We have only to keep the end in view, and have our hearts thoroughly engaged in the pursuit of it, and means will not be very difficult. ~ William Carey
Generation End quotes by William Carey
End? You don't mean like, dead end? ~ Paul Dini
Generation End quotes by Paul Dini
Let no feeling of discouragement prey
upon you, and in the end you
are sure to succeed. ~ Abraham Lincoln
Generation End quotes by Abraham Lincoln
You need to be naive enough to do things differently. No big publishing house would have allowed us to co-create a fully designed, four color business book in landscape format - because it was contrary to the publishing industry logic. However, we thought of Business Model Generation as a product, not just a book - similar to Apple products. ~ Alexander Osterwalder
Generation End quotes by Alexander Osterwalder
There's one other interesting thing about Western democracy. It didn't arrive at the end point that Karl Marx thought it would that wealth would become more and more concentrated in the hands of the few, that eventually the few would be killed by the many who were deprived, and that a different kind of government would then develop. What happened in Western democracy is that we began to understand that a democratic system can't work if half of the people are starving and the other half are dieting. ~ John Shelby Spong
Generation End quotes by John Shelby Spong
To fly into Moscow was a joy. I was trying to understand what people were thinking and how to earn money. In the end, I stayed. ~ Suleyman Kerimov
Generation End quotes by Suleyman Kerimov
At night it felt as if we were walking with the moon. It followed us under thick clouds and waited for us at the other end of dark forest paths. It would disappear with sunrise but return again, hovering on our path. Some nights the sky wept stars that quickly floated and disappeared into the darkness before our wishes could meet them. Under these stars I used to hear stories, but now it seemed as if it was the sky that was telling us a story as its stars fell, violently colliding with each other. The moon hid behind clouds to avoid seeing what was happening. ~ Ishmael Beah
Generation End quotes by Ishmael Beah
Risks are a measure of people. People who won't take them are trying to preserve what they have. People who do take them often end up having more.
Some risks have a future, and some people call them wrong. But being right may be like walking backwards proving where you've been.
Being wrong isn't in the future, or in the past.
Being wrong isn't anywhere but being here.
Best place to be, eh? ~ Paul Arden
Generation End quotes by Paul Arden
I decided at school that the only sensible way to make a living by arranging words in a pleasing order was by working on newspapers, because you got paid at the end of the week or the end of the month. ~ Terry Pratchett
Generation End quotes by Terry Pratchett
Getting up at 4 in the morning, I slave away all day until by the evening I'm exhausted, and I end by forgetting all my responsibilities, thinking only of the work I've set out to do. ~ Claude Monet
Generation End quotes by Claude Monet
You lived like a fool and you have come to a fool's end. ~ Mario Puzo
Generation End quotes by Mario Puzo
You definitely have to be focused at certain times in your life and in your career, but at the end of the day, there's only so much you can do. Then you just have to chock it up to fate. ~ Skylar Astin
Generation End quotes by Skylar Astin
America is a mere bully, from one end to the other, and the Bostonians by far the greatest bullies. ~ Thomas Gage
Generation End quotes by Thomas Gage
May I speak each word as if my last word, and walk each step as my final one. If my life should end today, let this be my best day. ~ Anonymous
Generation End quotes by Anonymous
At first, I was able to use a Bunsen burner attached to my mother's gas stove, but the use of the kitchen as a laboratory came to an abrupt end when a minor explosion involving hydrogen sulphide spattered the newly painted decor and changed the colour from blue to dirty green! ~ John Vane
Generation End quotes by John Vane
He hadn't loved me well in the end, but he'd loved me well when it mattered. ~ Cheryl Strayed
