Great sex is the key to the fountain of youth. ~ Tassa Desalada
Fountain Of Youth quotes by Tassa Desalada
The only true voyage, the only bath in the Fountain of Youth, would be not to visit strange lands but to possess other eyes, to see the universe through the eyes of another, of a hundred others, to see the hundred universes that each of them sees, that each of them is; and this we do [with great artists]; with artists like these we do really fly from star to star. ~ Marcel Proust
Fountain Of Youth quotes by Marcel Proust
It was the French of the Normans that, grafting itself onto the barbaric Saxon tongue, gave it its most magnificent blossoming. And, in these new countries, where both English and French are intertwined again, it is as if English were bathing itself in the fountain of its own youth, and as if French were remembering the buried treasures it had thought forgotten. ~ Jean-Christophe Valtat
Fountain Of Youth quotes by Jean-Christophe Valtat
My philosophy is fundamentally sad, but I'm not a sad man, and I don't believe I sadden anyone else. In other words, the fact that I don't put my philosophy into practice saves me from its evil spell, or, rather, my faith in the human race is stronger then my intellectual analysis of it; there lies the fountain of youth in which my heart is continually bathing. ~ Antonio Machado
Fountain Of Youth quotes by Antonio Machado
Hip-hop is the fountain of youth. You just don't grow up if you were there. My son's 20. I'm on the same channel he's on. We wear the same clothes, we feel the same thing. It's a weird, weird generation we're in right now. ~ Ice-T
Fountain Of Youth quotes by Ice-T
Sit down, have a nice cup of coffee read a book in another language - the fountain of youth! ~ Stephen D. Krashen
Fountain Of Youth quotes by Stephen D. Krashen
The heart is the real fountain of youth. ~ Mark Twain
Fountain Of Youth quotes by Mark Twain
The secret to the fountain of youth is to think youthful thoughts. ~ Josephine Baker
Fountain Of Youth quotes by Josephine Baker
Possibility-thinking is the long sought-after fountain of youth. ~ Robert H. Schuller
Fountain Of Youth quotes by Robert H. Schuller
I'm a writer; as soon as I imagine what would happen if I found the fountain of youth, it turns into a dystopia in my head. ~ Marie Brennan
Fountain Of Youth quotes by Marie Brennan
There is a fountain of youth: it is your mind, your talents, the creativity you bring to your life and the lives of people you love. When you learn to tap this source, you will truly have defeated age. ~ Sophia Loren
Fountain Of Youth quotes by Sophia Loren
What youth never understands is that the fountain of youth is not about age. It's about the mind and discipline. ~ Austin Dragon
Fountain Of Youth quotes by Austin Dragon
Selfless love, is the fountain of youth ... ~ Samer Chidiac
Fountain Of Youth quotes by Samer Chidiac
The only true voyage of discovery ... would be not to visit strange lands, but to possess other eyes, to behold the universe through the eyes of another, of a hundred others, to behold the hundred universes that each of them beholds, that each of them is. ~ Marcel Proust
Fountain Of Youth quotes by Marcel Proust
The fountain of youth with the youthful young musician is one meaning, and the fountain of youth with the youthful energy of the leader is another meaning. ~ Roy Haynes
Fountain Of Youth quotes by Roy Haynes
God is always messing everything up with rules. He gives us the fountain of youth, but makes it so we have to kill ourselves to get there. Very freaking clever. ~ Sarah Noffke
Fountain Of Youth quotes by Sarah Noffke
Gentle reader, the Fountain of Youth is radioactive, and those who imbibe its poisonous heavy waters will suffer the hideous fate of decaying metal. Yet almost without exception, the wretched idiot inhabitants of our benighted planet would gulp down this radioactive excrement if it were offered. ~ William S. Burroughs
Fountain Of Youth quotes by William S. Burroughs
You've got the fountain of youth hidden in your pants."
"What the fuck does that even mean?" Hook demanded, then held up a hand. "Never mind, I don't want to know."
"Means fucking keeps you young. ~ S.E. Jakes
Fountain Of Youth quotes by S.E. Jakes
The foundation of youth [for me] ... lots of water, lots of laughter, lots of sex. ~ Cameron Diaz
Fountain Of Youth quotes by Cameron Diaz

Fountain Of Youth quotes by David Copperfield
For joy alone,
Carries a fountain of youth.
Laughter's music,
Will wrinkle smooth.

- Poem Fountain of Youth ~ Kari L. Greenaway
Fountain Of Youth quotes by Kari L. Greenaway
The recipe says 'stir until the dough holds together'. You'll have a better chance of finding the fountain of youth than stirring this batter. ~ Kristen Ashley
Fountain Of Youth quotes by Kristen Ashley
One of the first books of travel, giving European readers some insight into the unfamiliar world of the Orient, was published in 1356-67 in Anglo-Norman French. Called simply Travels, it was said to be by Sir John Mandeville, but a French historian, Jean d'Outremeuse, may well have written the book. It is a highly entertaining guide for pilgrims to the Holy Land, but goes beyond, taking the reader as far as Tartary, Persia, India and Egypt, recounting more fantasy than fact, but containing geographical details to give the work credence.

Mandeville's book whetted the Western European reader's appetite for the travel book as a journal of marvels: dry scientific detail was not what these readers wanted. Rather it was imagination plus information. Thus, myths of 'the fountain of youth' and of gold-dust lying around 'like ant-hills' caught the Western imagination, and, when the voyagers of the late fifteenth and sixteenth centuries found 'new worlds' in the Americas, these myths were enlarged and expanded, as Eldorado joined the Golden Road to Samarkand in the imagination of readers concerning distant lands. ~ Ronald Carter
Fountain Of Youth quotes by Ronald Carter
It seems to me in a general sense we as a society are enamored with the mystical, mysterious, the unseen & unknown. We are looking for the hidden teaching, the secret scroll or fountain of youth, and of course heaven and hell. ~ Bryan Kest
Fountain Of Youth quotes by Bryan Kest
Appalachia is still, for American musicians, a kind of fountain of youth we always go back to, the old home place to a group of artists who represent the quintessence of American independence, fortitude, genius, and madness. ~ Paul Burch
Fountain Of Youth quotes by Paul Burch
But aren't all great quests folly? El Dorado and the Fountain of Youth and the search for intelligent life in the cosmos
we know what's out there. It's what isn't that truly compels us. Technology may have shrunk the epic journey to a couple of short car rides and regional jet lags
four states and twelve hundred miles traversed in an afternoon
but true quests aren't measured in time or distance anyway, so much as in hope. There are only two good outcomes for a quest like this, the hope of the serendipitous savant
sail for Asia and stumble on America
and the hope of scarecrows and tin men: that you find out you had the thing you sought all along. ~ Jess Walter
Fountain Of Youth quotes by Jess Walter
To find joy in work is to discover the fountain of youth. ~ Pearl S. Buck
Fountain Of Youth quotes by Pearl S. Buck
Helplessness was the one true fountain of youth. ~ Lydia Millet
Fountain Of Youth quotes by Lydia Millet
Writing for young readers is almost like dipping into a fountain of youth; for hours a day, I am a child again. ~ Iain Lawrence
Fountain Of Youth quotes by Iain Lawrence
Even at this altitude, the substitute pilot's bathed in sweat, sweat running down his chin and neck. Fear must be the fountain of youth, because the substitute pilot now looks younger than any of us, doughy and flushed with horror. ~ Karen Russell
Fountain Of Youth quotes by Karen Russell
The biggest surprise for me, without a doubt, was that the first black people who came to the United States weren't the 20 who arrived in Jamestown in 1619. All of us had been taught that. Well, guess what? The first African came to Florida in 1513. And the huge shock is we know his name, Juan Garrido, and that he wasn't a slave. He was free! This brother was a conquistador who came with Ponce de Leon. He was looking for the Fountain of Youth just like the white people were. ~ Henry Louis Gates
Fountain Of Youth quotes by Henry Louis Gates
The media, of course, loves to make claims about the fountain of youth. Don't believe it. No one has it. But we're getting close. ~ Michio Kaku
Fountain Of Youth quotes by Michio Kaku
The fountain of youth [for me], let's see ... I guess it's exercise, healthy diet, lots of water, lots of laughter, lots of sex - yes, sex, we need that as human beings. It's healthy, it's natural, it's what we are here to do! ~ Cameron Diaz
Fountain Of Youth quotes by Cameron Diaz
Exercise is roughly the only equivalent of a fountain of youth that exists today, and it's free to everyone. ~ S. Jay Olshansky
Fountain Of Youth quotes by S. Jay Olshansky
I think I feel my best - I really feel the fountain of youth is inside, not out - when I'm just surrounded with love, when I'm with my family and we're all having a wonderful time together. There's nothing greater than your family surrounding you. ~ Jaclyn Smith
Fountain Of Youth quotes by Jaclyn Smith
John Galt spent years looking for it. He crossed oceans, and he crossed deserts, and he went down into forgotten mines, miles under the earth. But he found it on the top of a mountain. It took him ten years to climb that mountain. It broke every bone in his body, it tore the skin off his hands, it made him lose his home, his name, his love. But he climbed it. He found the fountain of youth, which he wanted to bring down to men.Only he never came back. ~ Ayn Rand
Fountain Of Youth quotes by Ayn Rand
Forget the fountain of youth, pal of mine. You can live to be a thousand, and it won't matter. Mediocrities like you deserve immortality. ~ Gary Shteyngart
Fountain Of Youth quotes by Gary Shteyngart
The fountain of youth is like the monkey's paw in the W. W. Jacobs story. It never ends well. ~ Sarah Monette
Fountain Of Youth quotes by Sarah Monette
The fountain of youth resides in our memory. You will never outlive your shadow. ~ Lorin Morgan-Richards
Fountain Of Youth quotes by Lorin Morgan-Richards
Human tool-makers always make tools that will help us get what we want, and what we want hasn't changed for thousands of years because as far as we can tell the human template hasn't changed either. We still want the purse that will always be filled with gold, and the Fountain of Youth. We want the table that will cover itself with delicious food whenever we say the word, and that will be cleaned up afterwards by invisible servants. We want the Seven-League Boots so we can travel very quickly, and the Hat of Darkness so we can snoop on other people without being seen. We want the weapon that will never miss, and the castle that will keep us safe. We want excitement and adventure; we want routine and security. We want to have a large number of sexually attractive partners, and we also want those we love to love us in return, and be utterly faithful to us. We want cute, smart children who will treat us with the respect we deserve. We want to be surrounded by music, and by ravishing scents and attractive visual objects. We don't want to be too hot or too cold. We want to dance. We want to speak with the animals. We want to be envied. We want to be immortal. We want to be gods.
But in addition, we want wisdom and justice. We want hope. We want to be good. ~ Margaret Atwood
Fountain Of Youth quotes by Margaret Atwood
Self knowers always dwell in El Dorado; they drink from the fountain of youth, and at all times owners of all they wish to enjoy. ~ Claude M. Bristol
Fountain Of Youth quotes by Claude M. Bristol
Enthusiasm can keep the fountain of youth flowing. ~ Debasish Mridha
Fountain Of Youth quotes by Debasish Mridha
We both young what made you grow younger."
"The music?"
He nodded and whispered. "You don't have to go back to being old. We'll practice all the time. We'll record albums and we'll tour. ~ David Agranoff
Fountain Of Youth quotes by David Agranoff
A doctor to whom I occasionally talk suggest that I have made an inadequate adjustment to aging.
Wrong, I want to say.
In fact I have made no adjustment whatsoever to aging.
In fact I had lived my entire life to date without seriously believing that I would age. ~ Joan Didion
Fountain Of Youth quotes by Joan Didion
In the fountain of youth, love is the water and enthusiasm is the power. ~ Debasish Mridha
Fountain Of Youth quotes by Debasish Mridha
The Ramones own the fountain of youth. Experiencing us is like having the fountain of youth. ~ Joey Ramone
Fountain Of Youth quotes by Joey Ramone
Ponce de Leon, who said when he discovered the Fountain of Youth, Where the hell are the paper cups? Never got a dinner! ~ Red Buttons
Fountain Of Youth quotes by Red Buttons
To have children is a double living, the earthly fountain of youth, a continual fresh delight, a volcano as well as a fountain, and also a source of weariness beyond description ... ~ Josephine Winslow Johnson
Fountain Of Youth quotes by Josephine Winslow Johnson
The whole thrust of science and the medical profession is to try and prevent it from happening, to try to prolong life, to keep you from dying, to keep you from getting older, to rejuvenate you. I mean, that's everybody's wish. The fountain of youth is everybody's sought-after thing. ~ Woody Allen
Fountain Of Youth quotes by Woody Allen
Oh, yes! They, like the lotus flower, make your trouble forgotten. It smell so like the waters of Lethe, and of that fountain of youth that the Conquistadores sought for in the Floridas, and find him all too late. Whilst ~ Bram Stoker
Fountain Of Youth quotes by Bram Stoker
No man of sense in the whole world believes in devils any more than he does in mermaids, vampires, gorgons, hydras, naiads, dryads, nymphs, fairies, the Fountain of Youth, [or] the Philosopher's Stone ... ~ Robert Green Ingersoll
Fountain Of Youth quotes by Robert Green Ingersoll
...why not let nature show you a few things? Cutting grass and pulling weeds can be a way of life... Lilacs on a bush are better than orchids. And dandelions and devil grass are better! Why? Because they bend you over and turn you away from all the people and the town for a little while and sweat you and get you down where you remember you got a nose again. And when you're all to yourself that way, you're really yourself for a little while; you get to thinking things through, alone. Gardening is the handiest excuse for being a philosopher. Nobody guesses, nobody accuses, nobody knows, but there you are, Plato in the peonies, Socrates force-growing his own hemlock. A man toting a sack of blood manure across his lawn is kin to Atlas letting the world spin easy on his shoulder. As Samuel Spaudling, Esquire, once said, 'Dig in the earth, delve in the soul.' Spin those mower blades, Bill, and walk in the spray of the Fountain of Youth. ~ Ray Bradbury
Fountain Of Youth quotes by Ray Bradbury
Moreover, the very belief that Americans had somehow discovered the ultimate answer to mankind's eternal quandaries and were now poised to establish heaven on earth was a delusion that deserved to be ranked alongside the fables about the Holy Grail and the fountain of youth. "We may boast that we are one, the chosen people,: he (Adams) warned, " and we may even thank God that we are not like other men, but, after all, it would be but flattery, delusion, the self-deceit of the Pharisee. ~ Joseph J. Ellis
Fountain Of Youth quotes by Joseph J. Ellis
An inexhaustible imagination is the fountain of youth. ~ Richelle E. Goodrich
Fountain Of Youth quotes by Richelle E. Goodrich
The lesson is never learned - there will always be those who persist in seeking the Fountain of Youth, or at least delaying what is irrevocably ordained. ~ Sherwin B. Nuland
Fountain Of Youth quotes by Sherwin B. Nuland
In capital we trust. Capital is our savior, our holy grail, our fountain of youth, or at least health, for banks. ~ Bethany McLean
Fountain Of Youth quotes by Bethany McLean
I grow old, I grow old, the center will not fold. In youth I had hardening of the categories and looked for the father and the mother in every lover. Then I cracked. Then I fragmented. Then the old man in my soul found the god in herself, not in some Jungian fairy tale but in the flesh that fell from the bones and the words that came into my mouth when the look went out of their eyes. ~ Jennifer Stone
Fountain Of Youth quotes by Jennifer Stone
I am young now and can look upon my body and soul with pride. But it will be mangled soon, and later it will begin to disintegrate, and then I shall die, and die conclusively. How can we face such a fact, and not live in fear? ~ Jack Kerouac
Fountain Of Youth quotes by Jack Kerouac
I would like to tell you as the president of the republic, I am not embarrassed to listen to the Youth of my country and to respond to them. ~ Hosni Mubarak
Fountain Of Youth quotes by Hosni Mubarak
Let me speak frankly: separate but equal is a fraud. It is the language that tried to push Rosa Parks to the back of the bus. It is the motif that determined that black and white people could not possibly drink from the same water fountain, eat at the same table or use the same toilets. ~ David Lammy
Fountain Of Youth quotes by David Lammy
A handful of lion-hearts can wake the whole world up. ~ Abhijit Naskar
Fountain Of Youth quotes by Abhijit Naskar
One agonizing journey down the gauntlet of youth is enough for any man. ~ Zedd
Fountain Of Youth quotes by Zedd
The process of maturing is an art to be learned, an effort to be sustained ... ~ Marya Mannes
Fountain Of Youth quotes by Marya Mannes
The sexual map we acquire in youth includes body image, masturbatory guilt, sexual preferences and more. From what turns us on to what turns us off. From attitudes about menstruation to the right of women to wear certain clothing. But using this guilt- and shame-ridden map as a guide to sexuality is like using a map of an ancient city sewer system to locate the fiber optic network. What if the only map we had of a city was made 2,000 years ago? How useful would it be today? My city was an open prairie 2,000 years ago with no roads and maybe a few animal paths. A map of that reality would be of little use today. ~ Darrel Ray
Fountain Of Youth quotes by Darrel Ray
Sir Thomas More, son of Sir John More, a justice of the King's Bench, was born in 1478, in Milk Street, in the city of London. After his earlier education at St. Anthony's School, in Threadneedle Street, he was placed, as a boy, in the household of Cardinal John Morton, Archbishop of Canterbury and Lord Chancellor. It was not unusual for persons of wealth or influence and sons of good families to be so established together in a relation of patron and client. The youth wore his patron's livery, and added to his state. The patron used, afterwards, his wealth or influence in helping his young client forward in the world. Cardinal Morton had been in earlier days that Bishop of Ely whom Richard III. sent to the Tower; was busy afterwards in hostility to Richard; and was a chief adviser of Henry VII., who in 1486 made him Archbishop of Canterbury, and nine months afterwards Lord Chancellor. Cardinal Morton - of talk at whose table there are recollections in "Utopia" - delighted in the quick wit of young Thomas More. He once said, "Whoever shall live to try it, shall see this child here waiting at table prove a notable and rare man. ~ Thomas More
Fountain Of Youth quotes by Thomas More
Nor all your piety nor all your preaching, nor all your crusades nor all your threats can stop one girl from going on the turf, can stop one mugging, can keep one promising youth from becoming a drug addict, so long as the force that drives the owners of our civilization is away from those who own nothing at all. ~ Nelson Algren
Fountain Of Youth quotes by Nelson Algren
The education of youth belongs to the priests, yet they do not take so much care of instructing them in letters, as in forming their minds and manners aright; they use all possible methods to infuse, very early, into the tender and flexible minds of children, such opinions as are both good in themselves and will be useful to their country, for when deep impressions of these things are made at that age, they follow men through the whole course of their lives, and conduce much to preserve the peace of the government, which suffers by nothing more than by vices that rise out of ill opinions. ~ Thomas More
Fountain Of Youth quotes by Thomas More
My school-days! The silent gliding on of my existence - the unseen, unfelt progress of my life - from childhood up to youth! Let me think, as I look back upon that flowing water, now a dry channel overgrown with leaves, whether there are any marks along its course, by which I can remember how it ran. ~ Charles Dickens
Fountain Of Youth quotes by Charles Dickens
Yes, I have finally arrived to this Capital of the World! I now see all the dreams of my youth coming to life ... Only in Rome is it possible to understand Rome. ~ Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe
Fountain Of Youth quotes by Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe
But, oh, how sweet it was to love for once with the love of real life; for now he knew that nothing of what he had imagined to be love was real love, neither the turgid longing of the lonely youth, nor the passionate yearning of the dreamer, nor yet the nervous foreboding of the child. These were currents in the ocean of love, single reflections of its full light, fragments of love as the meteors rushing through space are splinters of a world--for that was love; a world complete in itself, fully rounded, vast, and orderly. It was no medley of confused sensations and moods rushing one upon another! Love was like nature, ever changing, ever renewing; no feeling died and no emotion withered without giving life to the seed of something still more perfect which was embedded in it. ~ Jens Peter Jacobsen
Fountain Of Youth quotes by Jens Peter Jacobsen
Roses have thorns, and silver fountains mud. ~ William Shakespeare
Fountain Of Youth quotes by William Shakespeare
He could not deny that the beauty, the youth, the gracefulness, of the countess had made some impression on him: but his nature was entirely averse to all empty gallantry, and his principles forbade any thought of more serious enterprises; so that his perplexity at this moment was in truth extreme. The fear of displeasing the countess, and that of pleasing her too well, were equally busy in his mind. ~ Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe
Fountain Of Youth quotes by Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe
To trace the history of a river ... is to trace the history of the soul, the history of the mind descending and arising in the body. ~ Gretel Ehrlich
Fountain Of Youth quotes by Gretel Ehrlich
I saw my first two Broadway shows when I was 4 years old, 'The Lion King' and 'Beauty and the Beast,' and after both of them I came home and reenacted the entirety of the shows on my living room table for my family and friends. I started doing that after every show I saw until I actually did my first youth production when I was 5. ~ Max Schneider
Fountain Of Youth quotes by Max Schneider
The self-esteem of western women is founded on physical being (body mass index, youth, beauty). This creates a tricky emphasis on image, but the internalized locus of self-worth saves lives. Western men are very different. In externalizing the source of their self-esteem, they surrender all emotional independence. (Conquest requires two parties, after all.) A man cannot feel like a man without a partner, corporation, team. Manhood is a game played on the terrain of opposites. It thus follows that male sense of self disintegrates when the Other is absent. ~ Antonella Gambotto-Burke
Fountain Of Youth quotes by Antonella Gambotto-Burke
Some critics will counter that poverty is a choice made by those that are lazy or who lack the desire to change their loves for the better. I agree that poverty is a choice. But that choice is not made by the people who live under its oppressive effects. Rather, the choice is ours. It's the choice of government that represents our priorities and allocates our investments. Its a choice reinforced by the companies we patronize and the organizations we support. ~ Wes Moore
Fountain Of Youth quotes by Wes Moore
As we got closer to Montauk, she seemed to grow younger, years of worry and work disappearing from her face. Her eyes turned the color of the sea. ~ Rick Riordan
Fountain Of Youth quotes by Rick Riordan
And my father!-oh, my father! evil is it with his daughter, when his grey hairs are not remembered because of the golden locks of youth! ~ Walter Scott
Fountain Of Youth quotes by Walter Scott
If in my youth I had realized that the sustaining splendour of beauty of with which I was in love would one day flood back into my heart, there to ignite a flame that would torture me without end, how gladly would I have put out the light in my eyes. ~ Michelangelo
Fountain Of Youth quotes by Michelangelo
Young people are in a condition like permanent intoxication, because life is sweet and they are growing. ~ Aristotle.
Fountain Of Youth quotes by Aristotle.
In early youth, as we contemplate our coming life, we are like children in a theatre before the curtain is raised, sitting there in high spirits and eagerly waiting for the play to begin. It is a blessing that we do not know what is really going to happen. Could we foresee it, there are times when children might seem like innocent prisoners, condemned, not to death, but to life, and as yet all unconscious of what their sentence means. Nevertheless, every man desires to reach old age; in other words, a state of life of which it may be said: "It is bad to-day, and it will be worse to-morrow; and so on till the worst of all." If ~ Arthur Schopenhauer
Fountain Of Youth quotes by Arthur Schopenhauer
The Old Woman asked, "Here you are, dear Youth, you are looking at the Garden and do not know that it is an evil Garden. Here you are waiting for the Beautiful Woman and do not know that her beauty is destructive. You have been living in my room for two years and never before have you become so engrossed as you have today. Apparently your turn has come too. Go away from the window before it is too late, do not breathe the evil fragrance of these deceitful flowers and do not wait for the Beautiful Woman to appear below your window and enchant you. She will come, she will enchant you, and you will follow her against your will.

Speaking thus, the Old Woman lit two candles on the table where some books were lying, banged the window shut and drew the curtain tightly across the window. The curtain rings scraped lightly along the bronze curtain rod, and the yellow linen of the curtain fluttered and once again lay motionless - and the room became cheerful, comfortable and peaceful. And it seemed that there was no longer any garden beyond the window, nor was there any sorcery in the world, and everything was simple, ordinary, and would remain so once and for all.

("The Poison Garden") ~ Valery Bryusov
Fountain Of Youth quotes by Valery Bryusov
Miss Sedley was almost as flurried at the act of defiance as Miss Jemima had been; for, consider, it was but one minute that she had left school, and the impressions of six years are not got over in that space of time. Nay, with some persons those awes and terrors of youth last for ever and ever. I know, for instance, an old gentleman of sixty-eight, who said to me one morning at breakfast, with a very agitated countenance, 'I dreamed last night that I was flogged by Dr Raine.' Fancy had carried him back five-and-fifty years in the course of that evening. Dr Raine and his rod were just as awful to him in his heart then, at sixty-eight, as they had been at thirteen. If the Doctor, with a large birch, had appeared bodily to him, even at the age of threescore and eight, and had said in awful voice, 'Boy, take down your pants ... ' Well, well ... ~ William Makepeace Thackeray
Fountain Of Youth quotes by William Makepeace Thackeray
Talk not of wasted affection; affection never was wasted. ~ Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
Fountain Of Youth quotes by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
This preoccupation with the classics was the happiest thing that could have befallen me. It gave me a standard of values. To live for a time close to great minds is the best kind of education. ... Faulty though my own practice has always been, I learned sound doctrine - the virtue of a clean, bare style, of simplicity, of a hard substance and an austere pattern. Above all the Calvinism of my boyhood was broadened, mellowed, and also confirmed. For if the classics widened my sense of the joy of life they also taught its littleness and transience; if they exalted the dignity of human nature they insisted upon its frailties and the aidos with which the temporal must regard the eternal. I lost then any chance of being a rebel, for I became profoundly conscious of the dominion of unalterable law. ... Indeed, I cannot imagine a more precious viaticum than the classics of Greece and Rome, or a happier fate than that one's youth should be intertwined with their world of clear, mellow lights, gracious images, and fruitful thoughts. They are especially valuable to those who believe that Time enshrines and does not destroy, and who do what I am attempting to do in these pages, and go back upon and interpret the past. No science or philosophy can give that colouring, for such provide a schematic, and not a living, breathing universe. And I do not think that the mastery of other literatures can give it in a like degree, for they do not furnish the same totality of life - a complete world ~ John Buchan
Fountain Of Youth quotes by John Buchan
That makes me think, my friend, as I have often done before, how natural it is that those who have spent a long time in the study of philosophy appear ridiculous when they enter the courts of law as speakers. Those who have knocked about in courts and the like from their youth up seem to me, when compared with those who have been brought up in philosophy and similar pursuits, to be as slaves in breeding compared with freemen. ~ Plato
Fountain Of Youth quotes by Plato
A kiss brings back the youth of a young child, as when a hug brings back the memories of a lover. ~ Jennifer Chen
Fountain Of Youth quotes by Jennifer Chen
The Bible is the fountain of truth. ~ Joseph Franklin Rutherford
Fountain Of Youth quotes by Joseph Franklin Rutherford
And let us, on this birthday of the year, renew each his personal and solemn dedication to God; supplicating forgiveness for the past, and invoking grace to help in every time of need for the future. The atoning blood of Jesus! How solemn and how precious is it at this moment! Bathed in it afresh, we will more supremely, unreservedly, and submissively yield ourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead. We will travel to the open fountain, wash, and be clean. Christ loves us to come as we are. ~ Octavius Winslow
Fountain Of Youth quotes by Octavius Winslow
Long ago, in youth, I was brash enough to think myself able to pronounce on "The Meaning of History." I now know that history's meaning is a matter to be discovered, not declared. It is a question we must attempt to answer as best we can in recognition that it will remain open to debate; that each generation will be judged by whether the greatest, most consequential issues of the human condition have been faced, and that decisions to meet these challenges must be taken by statesmen before it is possible to know what the outcome may be. ~ Henry Kissinger
Fountain Of Youth quotes by Henry Kissinger
It was a hideous discovery for the stranger to make - that a man at the end of his days was capable of inflicting pain as the rawest, loudest youth. With so little time left, the stranger added one more item to his long, long list of regrets. ~ Kurt Vonnegut Jr.
Fountain Of Youth quotes by Kurt Vonnegut Jr.
Nobody heard her tears; the heart is a fountain of weeping water which makes no noise in the world. ~ Edward Dahlberg
Fountain Of Youth quotes by Edward Dahlberg
Those who in the name of Faith embrace illusion,
kill and are killed.
Even the atheist gets God's blessings-
Does not boast of his religion;

With reverence he lights the lamp of Reason
And pays his homage not to scriptures,
But to the good in man.

The bigot insults his own religion
When he slays a man of another faith.
Conduct he judges not in the light of Reason;
In the temple he raises the blood-stained banner
And worships the devil in the name of God.

All that is shameful and barbarous through the Ages,
Has found a shelter in their temples-
Those they turn into prisons;
O, I hear the trumpet call of Destruction!
Time comes with her great broom
Sweeping all refuse away.

That which should make man free,
They turn into fetters;
That which should unite,
They turn into sword;
That which should bring love
From the fountain of the Eternal,
They turn into prison

And with its waves they flood the world.
They try to cross the river
In a bark riddled with holes;
And yet, in their anguish, whom do they blame?

O Lord, breaking false religion,
Save the blind!
Break! O break
The alter that is drowned in blood.

Let your thunder strike
Into the prison of false religion,

And bring to this unhappy land
The light of Knowledge. ~ Rabindranath Tagore
Fountain Of Youth quotes by Rabindranath Tagore
California has all the beauties of youth as well as its idiocies and vices ... ~ Gertrude Atherton
Fountain Of Youth quotes by Gertrude Atherton
I'm a Prince of Wales Trust ambassador, so I'm all about giving youth an education, a voice and a chance to not take the wrong road. ~ Benedict Cumberbatch
Fountain Of Youth quotes by Benedict Cumberbatch
O you youths, Western youths,
So impatient, full of action, full of manly pride and friendship,
Plain I see you Western youths, see you tramping with the foremost,
Pioneers! O pioneers! ~ Walt Whitman
Fountain Of Youth quotes by Walt Whitman
Their words faded into the darkness as if they were spoken and unspoken at the same time; as if they were important and yet not at all, as if they were two people talking or maybe just one.
Darkness, she understood later, easily confused the meaning of words, of skin touching skin. In their remaining summers together she tried to find that oneness again. When it was all over,
when youth ended and he chose Maisy, she understood the lesson from the dock that night: she could never again call her feelings of intimacy and oneness love. Nor would she be fooled again into believing that her love was returned, that a boy felt more for her than friendship. ~ Patti Callahan Henry

Fountain Of Youth quotes by Jan Koum
I do not regret the folly of my youth, but the timidity. ~ Mason Cooley
