Forgetting: that, too, was the heart's slow way of healing, but it could only be done alone. Love and loss turns us into the most solitary of creatures, their mysteries can never entirely be shared. ~ Eric Gamalinda
Forgetting The Pain quotes by Eric Gamalinda
Life became colourful and wild as Ada danced through night and day. She danced so fiercely that she forgot what day it was or even her own name. ~ Meara O'Hara
Forgetting The Pain quotes by Meara O'Hara
Memory repression thrives in shame, secrecy, and shock. The shame and degradation experienced during sexual assault is profound, especially for children who have no concept of what is happening to them or why. Sexual abuse is so bizarre and horrible that the frightened child feels compelled to bury the event deep inside his or her mind. ~ Renee Fredrickson
Forgetting The Pain quotes by Renee Fredrickson
Forgetting is not forgetting
Forgetting is 'Letting things pass'

When Existence opens up to Essence
And rises above and beyond
The path of Transcendence opens

Love goes beyond Death
The body disappears
The person lives
In Love

And in this Love
Remembrance is born
(Page 91) ~ Neena Verma
Forgetting The Pain quotes by Neena Verma
Here have been many times in my life when I have felt helpless. It is perhaps the most acute pain a person can know, founded in frustration and ventless rage. ~ R.A. Salvatore
Forgetting The Pain quotes by R.A. Salvatore
In the stillness of the night I have walked in your streets, and my spirit has entered your houses,
And your heart-beats were in my heart, and your breath was upon my face, and I knew you all.
Aye, I knew your joy and your pain, and in your sleep your dreams were my dreams.
And oftentimes I was among you a lake among the mountains.
I mirrored the summits in you and the bending slopes, and even the passing flocks of your thoughts and your desires.
And to my silence came the laughter of your children in streams, and the longing of your youths in rivers. ~ Kahlil Gibran
Forgetting The Pain quotes by Kahlil Gibran
HEADACHE: THE MOST USEFUL PAIN IN THE WORLD ~ Woods Hutchinson
Forgetting The Pain quotes by Woods Hutchinson
Because Rhy didn't need his protection, not anymore, and he'd only told a partial truth when he said they both needed this.
The whole truth was, Rhy needed it more.
Because Kell had given him a gift he did not want, could never repay.
He'd always envied his brother 's strength.
And now, in a horrible way, it was his.
He was immortal.
And he hated it.
And he hated that he hated it. Hated that he'd become the thing he never wanted to be, a burden to his brother, a source of pain and suffering, a prison. Hated that if he'd had a choice, he would have said no. Hated that he was grateful he hadn't had a choice, because he wanted to live, even if he didn't deserve to.
But most of all, Rhy hated the way his living changed how Kell lived, the way his brother moved through life as if it were suddenly fragile. The black stone, and whatever lived inside it, and for a time in Kell, had changed his brother, woken something restless, something reckless. Rhy wanted to shout, to shake Kell and tell him not to shy away from danger on his account, but charge toward it, even if it meant getting hurt.
Because Rhy deserved that pain.
He could see his brother suffocating beneath the weight of it. Of him.
And he hated it.
And this gesture - this foolish, mad, dangerous gesture - was the best he could do.
The most he could do. ~ V.E. Schwab
Forgetting The Pain quotes by V.E. Schwab
He wears his pain on his sleeves, and hides his joys in his heart, because he's so damn terrified of losing them. And maybe that's why you clash sometimes, because you're the opposite, Becca. You only share your joy, while you hide your pain. And, maybe, if you can both find a way to balance that, you'll find the coast. ~ Jay McLean
Forgetting The Pain quotes by Jay McLean
Hey, aren't we forgetting something? (Savitar)
Your dignity? (Takeshi)
No, you have me confused with you again. Aren't you supposed to be training him? (Savitar)
So you admit my superiority by deflecting my attention to the neophyte. (Takeshi) ~ Sherrilyn Kenyon
Forgetting The Pain quotes by Sherrilyn Kenyon
Before I knew what I was doing, I was out of my seat and rushing up toward the railing that divided the seats from the field. I had to make sure he was okay. I couldn't just sit here and watch him lie there in pain.
I heard my name called, but I ignored it as I flung my leg over the top railing and prepared to hoist myself over.
One of the guys working security happened to see me and he rushed over and ordered me to stop.
"I can't. That's my…" My voice broke. I couldn't force the word boyfriend between my lips. It just wasn't enough. It just didn't describe how desperate I was to get to him.
"He's my everything," I finished.
The security guard gave me a grim look. "You can't come on the field."
A lone tear tracked its way down my cheek, and I craned my neck. Frustrated, I glanced up at the big screen to see if it was showing a different angle.
But they weren't playing Romeo. They were focused on me.
I blinked at the site of me half straddling the railing and the security guard standing there with a grim look on his face as he stared me down. My cheeks were red, behind my glasses, my eyes wild.
I turned away from the screen, irritated that they weren't focused on Romeo.
I glanced at the guard. "I'm coming over."
He crossed his arms over his chest as if to say, I dare you.
I flung my other leg over so I was balanced on the bottom rung.
"This is your last warning," the guard shouted.
The crowd st ~ Cambria Hebert
Forgetting The Pain quotes by Cambria Hebert
Illusions are certainly expensive amusements; but the destruction of illusions is still more expensive, if looked upon as an amusement, as it undoubtedly is by some people. ~ Friedrich Nietzsche
Forgetting The Pain quotes by Friedrich Nietzsche
I once heard some idiot on the radio saying that all great art has suffering as its dominant theme, and that the greatest artists are only able to create because they suffer immensely in their own lives. What a bunch of bullshit. Look at Van Gogh's paintings: there's as much joy in them as there is pain. Suffering is only a single color, and by itself it's boring. ~ Bart Yates
Forgetting The Pain quotes by Bart Yates
Grief was for the others; sorrow and pain were for the others; some terrible mistake had been made. ~ John Cheever
Forgetting The Pain quotes by John Cheever
We're living in world, stars and dust Between heaven 'n all that surrounds us We're travellers here, spirits passing through And the love we give, is all that will endure Just like a rose after the rain Something beautiful remains Tears will leave no stains Time will ease the pain For every life that fades Something beautiful remains ~ Tina Turner
Forgetting The Pain quotes by Tina Turner
As a physician I have sympathy for patients suffering from pain and other medical conditions. Although I understand many believe marijuana is the most effective drug in combating their medical ailments, I would caution against this assumption due to the lack of consistent, repeatable scientific data available to prove marijuana's benefits. Based on current evidence, I believe that marijuana is a dangerous drug and that there are less dangerous medicines offering the same relief from pain and other medical symptoms. ~ Bill Frist
Forgetting The Pain quotes by Bill Frist
People forget the ladder which raised them and remember the pillar which hold them ~ 'SON Of GOD' P.S.Jagadeesh Kumar
Forgetting The Pain quotes by 'SON Of GOD' P.S.Jagadeesh Kumar
Grief is like any other kind of pain. No matter how intense or how constant it is, time takes the edge from it. It may not fade, but it loses its sharpness. It becomes the new normal, and eventually steps aside and makes room in the mind for other things. ~ Joseph R. Lallo
Forgetting The Pain quotes by Joseph R. Lallo
And when he'd hurried out as soon as Jane had been taken from the room, Louisa had mumbled something derogatory about the entire male sex.He hadn't taken offense. How could he?
Molly was screaming her blasted head off and enduring hours and hours of pain, all to bring forth a child without her husband. At that moment, he had the utmost respect for women and nothing but contempt for himself and his kind. ~ Sabrina Jeffries
Forgetting The Pain quotes by Sabrina Jeffries
People fear death even more than they fear pain. It's strange that they fear death. Life hurts more than death. At the point of death, the pain is over. ~ Jim Morrison
Forgetting The Pain quotes by Jim Morrison
Growing ever smaller in the distance. Carrying that pain and sadness back with her to the lair where it, and she, lived. ~ James Sallis
Forgetting The Pain quotes by James Sallis
It was in the darkest of my days when you took my sorrow and you took my pain ~ Brandi Carlile
Forgetting The Pain quotes by Brandi Carlile
And then I wondered if, when it poured, would it wash everything away? Even the pain I was feeling? ~ Jayen San Diego
Forgetting The Pain quotes by Jayen San Diego
You will have a growing knack for gravitating toward wilder, wetter, more interesting problems. More and more, you will be drawn to the kind of gain that doesn't requite pain. You'll be so alive and awake that you'll cheerfully push yourself out of your comfort zone in the direction of your personal frontier well before you're forced to do so by divine kicks in the ass. ~ Rob Brezsny
Forgetting The Pain quotes by Rob Brezsny
Welcome, welcome joy, welcome sorrow, welcome pleasure, welcome pain. You are all the ingredients of life -- and with you all, life is an inestimable blessing. ~ Frederick Douglass
Forgetting The Pain quotes by Frederick Douglass
Full Catastrophe Living: Using the Wisdom of Your Body and Mind to Face Stress, Pain, and Illness ~ Lene Andersen
Forgetting The Pain quotes by Lene Andersen
Sibyl Vane to love me! I want to make Romeo jealous. I want the dead lovers of the world to hear our laughter and grow sad. I want a breath of our passion to stir their dust into consciousness, to wake their ashes into pain. My God, Harry, how I worship her!" He was walking up and down the room as he spoke. Hectic spots of red burned on his cheeks. He was terribly excited. ~ Oscar Wilde
Forgetting The Pain quotes by Oscar Wilde
When writing gateway software of any kind, take pains to disturb the data stream as little as possible - and never throw away information unless the recipient forces you to! ~ Eric S. Raymond
Forgetting The Pain quotes by Eric S. Raymond
So it looks like I'll be stuck hugging a photograph."
"I'm sorry," Emma said. "No, that's not true. I'm glad. I want you to miss me desperately."
"I think you'll get your wish," Jimmy said. "When will you come back?"
"Next summer, definitely, whether Dad wants me to come or not. I'll be an independent girl with a college degree. Maybe some paper like the Miami Herald or the LA Times will offer me a job. In the meantime, we have the National Geographic piece to pull together. We can still be a team."
"Be warned that I may come after you."
"If you do, there's something I want you to bring me."
"Sure. Anything," Jimmy said, "as long as it's not some kind of exotic pet. What?"
"This." Emma took Jimmy's face in her hands and looked straight in his eyes. She then placed her lips on his and gave him a kiss. It was a kiss that erased the pain and eradicated the bad memories, a kiss that left nothing but joy and a promise for things to come. ~ Victoria Griffith
Forgetting The Pain quotes by Victoria Griffith
God famously doesn't afflict Job because of anything Job has done, but because he wants to prove a point to Satan. Twenty years later, I am sympathetic with my first assessment; to me, in spite of the soft radiant beauty of many of its passages, the Bible still has a mechanical quality, a refusal to brook complexity that feels brutal and violent. There has been a change, however. When I look at Revelation now, it still seems frightening and impenetrable, and it still suggests an inexorable, ridiculous order that is unknowable by us, in which our earthly concerns matter very little. However, it not longer reads to me like a chronicle of arbitrarily inflicted cruelty. It reads like a terrible abstract of how we violate ourselves and others and thus bring down endless suffering on earth. When I read And they blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pain and their sores, and did not repent of their deeds, I think of myself and others I've known or know who blaspheme life itself by failing to have the courage to be honest and kind - and how then we rage around and lash out because we hurt. When I read the word fornication, I don't read it as a description of sex outside legal marriage: I read it as sex done in a state of psychic disintegration, with no awareness of one's self or one's partner, let alone any sense of honor or even real playfulness. I still don't know what to make of much of it, but I'm inclined to read it as a writer's primitive attempt to give form to his mor ~ Mary Gaitskill
Forgetting The Pain quotes by Mary Gaitskill
Suicide is not the way out of bondage of pain. It is the threshold of eternal pain. Satan hisses lies wanting you to believe suicide is better than to serve the Lord. ~ Sue Raymond
Forgetting The Pain quotes by Sue Raymond
The dog was cold and in pain. But being only a dog it did not occur to him to trot off home to the comfort of the library fire and leave his master to fend for himself. ~ Albert Payson Terhune
Forgetting The Pain quotes by Albert Payson Terhune
She's leaving me!"
"Leaving? She's been waiting for you to get your shit together."
I step into him. "That Hunter bastard is offering her the world! What do I got to give? Nothing. I've got nothing."
Isaiah slams his finger into my biceps. "She looks at you like you're the whole universe! I'd kill to have a sliver with Beth of what you have with Echo. Wake the f*ck up!"
I pound my hand to my chest, mimicking the pain slicing it. "Echo's leaving me."
"No, man. You're the one leaving her," he seethes. "Get it together or she will walk. ~ Katie McGarry
Forgetting The Pain quotes by Katie McGarry
All that lives is striving for happiness; yet a thousand and one pains and fears attend upon every pleasure which man seeks through the ignorance of exclusiveness. ~ Meher Baba
Forgetting The Pain quotes by Meher Baba
It lies here deep in the heart, the small chest of pain
Sharp words like daggers placed it here
To fill with hurt
In filling it grew heavy and drug me down
For to not feel is not to live
Until I rest at last in dirt
The worst of you got the best of me ... ~ Neil Leckman
Forgetting The Pain quotes by Neil Leckman
So many of us are causing pain and suffering to ourselves on daily basis, because we do not know the value of life. ~ Sunday Adelaja
Forgetting The Pain quotes by Sunday Adelaja
So you shun me? - you shut yourself up and grieve alone! I would rather you had come and upbraided me with vehemence. You are passionate: I expected a scene of some kind. I was prepared for the hot rain of tears; only I wanted them to be shed on my breast: now a senseless floor has received them, or your drenched handkerchief. But I err: you have not wept at all! I see a white cheek and faded eye, but no trace of tears. I suppose, then, that your heart has been weeping blood? ~ Charlotte Bronte
Forgetting The Pain quotes by Charlotte Bronte
Bear the pain of longing silently, my heart
for this is the cure.
The ultimate sacrifice is to curb your desires
and surrender the ego. ~ Rumi
Forgetting The Pain quotes by Rumi
Somehow, she trusted. With all that was going wrong, she still had the faith to stay strong. She caught Levi's eye, and the pain in her gaze was tempered with a hope so bright it filled his heart with its light. ~ Victoria Lynn
Forgetting The Pain quotes by Victoria Lynn
He loves me so he hurts me
To try and make me good.
It doesn't work. I'm just too bad
And don't do what I should.

My memory has so many different sections and, like all survivors, there are so many compartments with so many triggers. I'll remember a smell which reminds me of a man which reminds me of a place which reminds me of another man who I think was with a woman who had a certain smell - and I'm back to square one. This is the case for most survivors, I believe. When we try to put together our pasts, the triggers are many and varied, the memories are disjointed - and why wouldn't they be? We were children. Even someone with an idyllic childhood who is only trying to remember the lovely things which happened to them will scratch their head and wonder who gave them that doll and was it for Christmas or their third birthday? Did they have a party when they were four or five? When did they go on a plane for the first time? You see, even happy memories are hard to piece together - so imagine how hard it is to collate all of the trauma, to pull together all of the things I've been trying to push away for so many years. ~ Laurie Matthew
Forgetting The Pain quotes by Laurie Matthew
Junie says that the worst thing about shame is the way it chains you down. The way it holds your mind hostage and won't let you go, gnawing from the inside out, feeding on you like a parasite. ~ Rasmenia Massoud
Forgetting The Pain quotes by Rasmenia Massoud
Life has its pains and evils-its bitter disappointments; but like a good novel and in healthful length of days, there is infinite joy in seeing the World, the most interesting of continued stories, unfold ... ~ W.E.B. Du Bois
Forgetting The Pain quotes by W.E.B. Du Bois
In this world He's apt to repay service with pain while those who do evil ride over the roads in Cadillac cars. ~ Stephen King
Forgetting The Pain quotes by Stephen King
The pain of childbirth is not remembered. It's the child that's remembered. ~ Freeman Dyson
Forgetting The Pain quotes by Freeman Dyson
Yet I still, he said, believe in love. Love restores almost everything, and where it can't restore, it takes away the pain. ~ Rachel Cusk
Forgetting The Pain quotes by Rachel Cusk
There is too little idea of personal responsibility; too much of "the world owes me a living," forgetting that if the world does owe you a living, you must be your own collector. ~ Theodore Newton Vail
Forgetting The Pain quotes by Theodore Newton Vail
He that would seriously set upon the search of truth, ought in the first place to prepare his mind with a love of it. For he that loves it not, will not take much pains to get it; nor be much concerned when he misses it. ~ John Locke
