I want to see the stats for how many crosses there have been; it's been incredulous ~ Bobby Gould
Firmino Stats quotes by Bobby Gould
I keep track of my blog stats, Facebook subs, my Amazon rank, Twitter followers, Facebook likes per posts, my chess ranking. I get stressed when they all don't go up. ~ James Altucher
Firmino Stats quotes by James Altucher
The stats win nothing. I'm still sexy. I'm still great. ~ Shaquille O'Neal
Firmino Stats quotes by Shaquille O'Neal
Stats are for losers. I like winning games. ~ Will Muschamp
Firmino Stats quotes by Will Muschamp
Let's get something straight, shall we? My name is Beth, and I'm going to tutor you in business stats. We are not going to be friends or fuck buddies or anything else you might think of. I'm not 'Kitty' or any other pet name. I'm here to get a degree, not a husband. ~ Jessica Scott
Firmino Stats quotes by Jessica Scott
Top Trumps appeared to be a game in which you got cards, and the cards had a picture (in this case, of a horse), and told you all kinds of stats for that horse, how fast it was, how big it was, etc. Whoever had the better horse won both the cards. You repeated this until someone had all the cards. So, basically it was exactly like high school, except it only took three minutes. Which was really a bit more humane, if you thought about it. ~ Maureen Johnson
Firmino Stats quotes by Maureen Johnson
That's why we have journalists, for stats. ~ Maria Sharapova
Firmino Stats quotes by Maria Sharapova
Suppose you were to total up all the wars over the past two hundred years that occurred between very large and very small countries. Let's say that one side has to be at least ten times larger in population and armed might than the other. How often do you think the bigger side wins? Most of us, I think, would put that number at close to 100 percent. A tenfold difference is a lot. But the actual answer may surprise you. When the political scientist Ivan Arreguin-Toft did the calculation a few years ago, what he came up with was 71.5 percent. Just under a third of the time, the weaker country wins.
Arreguin-Toft then asked the question slightly differently. What happens in wars between the strong and the weak when the weak side […] refuses to fight the way the bigger side wants to fight, using unconventional or guerilla tactics? The answer: in those cases, the weaker party's winning percentage climbs from 28.5 percent to 63.6 percent. To put that in perspective, the United Stats' population is ten times the size of Canada's. If the two countries went to war and Canada chose to fight unconventionally, history would suggest that you ought to put your money on Canada. ~ Malcolm Gladwell
Firmino Stats quotes by Malcolm Gladwell
When you're an expert in a subject, you can retain new factoids on your favorite topic easily. This only works for the subjects you're truly passionate about, though. Baseball fans can reel off stats for their favorite players, then space out on their own birthday. ~ Clive Thompson
Firmino Stats quotes by Clive Thompson
Still, he stats, thrashing his head around like he's arguing. His squeals sound contrary even to Galen's untrained ears. The poor creature doesn't realize how close to foot tapping Emma is, but Galen recognizes that stiff stance of impatience. It's the same one she directed at him when they first met on this very beach. The same one she directed at Toraf when she informed him that Rayna could live with her. The same one she directed at Rachel when she booked the honeymoon suite for the two of them. ~ Anna Banks
Firmino Stats quotes by Anna Banks
Stats don't measure an athlete's hunger. ~ Khang Kijarro Nguyen
Firmino Stats quotes by Khang Kijarro Nguyen
It's all about winning. Stats really don't matter, I mean, guys have great series and all that, and people take notice and take their place in history with those stats and all that stuff. But at the end of the day, it's all about winning and what you can do to help your team get to that point. ~ Stephen Curry
Firmino Stats quotes by Stephen Curry
If you want to know who was better, me or Willie Mays, you have to look at our career stats. And Willie's bottom line was better. ~ Mickey Mantle
Firmino Stats quotes by Mickey Mantle
Things happen in baseball, even if, in theory, it's something you don't do. Stats are a tool, but it doesn't mean that's how a game is being played at that moment. There's more than one way to win a game, or have a winning team. ~ Jon Miller
Firmino Stats quotes by Jon Miller
In those hours where he'd planned for the [possible future] demise of his family's fortune, he'd settled quickly on the easiest job he could step into: Mechanical Turk.
The Turks were an army of workers in gamespace. All you had to do was prove that you were a decent player - the game had the stats to know it - and sign up, and then log in whenever you wanted a shift. The game would ping you any time a player did something the game didn't know how to interpret - talked too intensely to a non-player character, stuck a sword where it didn't belong, climbed a tree that no one had bothered to add any details to - and you'd have to play spot referee. You'd play the non-player character, choose a behavior for the stabbed object, or make a decision from a menu of possible things you might find in a tree.
It didn't pay much, but it didn't take much time, either. Wei-Dong had calculated that if he played two computers - something he was sure he could keep up - and did a new job every twenty seconds each, he could make as much as the senior managers at his father's company. He'd have to do it for ten hours a day, but he'd spent plenty of weekends playing for twelve or even fourteen hours a day, so hell, it was practically money in the bank. ~ Cory Doctorow
Firmino Stats quotes by Cory Doctorow
But you can not compare Yao's stats to mine. You just can't compare it and I am playing everyone one-on-one. ~ Shaquille O'Neal
Firmino Stats quotes by Shaquille O'Neal
Except in expert hands, stats can get in the way of story; an array of data that might better be presented in a table instead clogs up sentences. ~ John Thorn
Firmino Stats quotes by John Thorn
The team always sold programs for a buck at the games. Inside were the stats on each Rattler. There was also a roster of the visiting team, but they didn't include their stats. I guess the general consensus was: Who cares? They're not our guys. Ragland was pretty loyal to its team. ~ Rachel Hawthorne
Firmino Stats quotes by Rachel Hawthorne
I've certainly seen stats that if you have a woman director or a woman screenwriter, the number of female characters goes way up. ~ Emma Donoghue
Firmino Stats quotes by Emma Donoghue
Never let anyone tell you sports doesn't matter. Never let them tell you it's all about the wins, the losses and the stats. Sports is so much more than that. ~ Rick Reilly
Firmino Stats quotes by Rick Reilly
Look you wanna know the truth? I don't really care about the
stats or the cup or the trophy or anything like that. In fact even the games aren't that important to me. What matters to me is the perfect throw, making the perfect catch, the perfect step and block. Perfection. That's what it's about. It's those moments. When you can feel the perfection of creation. The beauty the physics you know the wonder of mathematics. The elations of action and reaction and that is the kind of perfection that I want to be connected to. ~ Samuel Anders
Firmino Stats quotes by Samuel Anders
You probably don't call home and say, 'Hi, mom. I am facing Pete Schourek tonight.' Names and stats don't do it. You have to do it out on the field. ~ Carlos Delgado
Firmino Stats quotes by Carlos Delgado
There are a lot of stats and a strong correlation between dropout rates and crime as well as poverty. ~ Cedric Richmond
Firmino Stats quotes by Cedric Richmond
I just try to keep rebounding the ball as much as I can. I just go out there and do what needs to be done and don't worry about my stats. ~ Rajon Rondo
Firmino Stats quotes by Rajon Rondo
I average 25 with three guys on me and they are just looking at stats I guess. ~ Shaquille O'Neal
Firmino Stats quotes by Shaquille O'Neal
Japanese gamers aren't really into action games right now. They're into role-playing or strategy games with a lot of stats, but action titles are still really popular across the US and Europe. ~ Hideo Kojima
Firmino Stats quotes by Hideo Kojima
I take my vote as a salute to the little guy, the one who doesn't hit 500 home runs. I was one of the guys that did all they could to win. I'm proud of my stats, but I don't think I ever got on for. ~ Joe Morgan
Firmino Stats quotes by Joe Morgan
The best word to describe Albert Belle during the mid-1990s is "prolific." The man could flat hit. ~ Tucker Elliot
Firmino Stats quotes by Tucker Elliot
Vic Wertz once hit a ball rather famously that was later described as such: 'It would have been a home run in any other park - including Yellowstone.' Instead, he's remembered as the guy who got robbed by Willie Mays' spectacular catch during the 1954 World Series between the Indians and the Giants, a play that remains one of the game's all-time greatest defensive efforts. What people often forget about Wertz is that his greatest battle wasn't that one at bat, and that one out never defined his career. He was stricken with polio in 1955, and after 74 games his season was over and his career was hanging in the balance. 'The Catch' by Willie Mays couldn't keep him down, and neither could polio - he came back in 1956, and despite playing in only 136 games he belted 32 home runs with 106 RBIs. ~ Tucker Elliot
Firmino Stats quotes by Tucker Elliot
New Rule: Just because a country elects a smart president doesn't make it a smart country. A couple of weeks ago, I was asked on CNN if I thought Sarah Palin could get elected president, and I said I hope not, but I wouldn't put anything past this stupid country. Well, the station was flooded with emails, and the twits hit the fan. And you could tell that these people were really mad, because they wrote entirely in CAPITAL LETTERS!!! Worst of all, Bill O'Reilly refuted my contention that this is a stupid country by calling me a pinhead, which (a) proves my point, and (b) is really funny coming from a doody-face like him.

Now, before I go about demonstration how, sadly, easy it is to prove the dumbness that's dragging us down, let me just say that ignorance has life-and-death consequences. On the eve of the Iraq War, seventy percent of Americans thought Saddam Hussein was personally involved in 9/11. Six years later, thirty-four percent still do. Or look at the health-care debate: At a recent town hall meeting in South Carolina, a man stood up and told his congressman to "keep your government hands off my Medicare," which is kind of like driving cross-country to protest highways.

This country is like a college chick after two Long Island iced teas: We can be talked into anything, like wars, and we can be talked out of anything, like health care. We should forget the town halls, and replace them with study halls.

Listen to some of these stats: ~ Bill Maher
Firmino Stats quotes by Bill Maher
I'm not one of those guys that focuses much on individual stats because my main goal is to be at my best physically and mentally. ~ Giovani Bernard
Firmino Stats quotes by Giovani Bernard
Joe DiMaggio batted safely in 56 consecutive games in 1941, the same season Ted Williams batted .406 - but did you know that also in 1941, Jeff Heath, an outfielder who spent a decade playing for the Indians, became the first player in AL history to hit 20 doubles, 20 triples, and 20 home runs in the same season? It's true. ~ Tucker Elliot
Firmino Stats quotes by Tucker Elliot
When I speak at universities, in colleges, I share these statistics. I tell them that even as we are labeled criminal, we are actually the victims of crime. And I tell them there are no stats to track collateral deaths, the ones that unfold over months and years spent in mourning and grief: the depression that becomes addiction to alcohol that becomes cirrhosis; or else addiction to food that becomes diabetes that becomes a stroke . Slow deaths . Undocumented deaths. Deaths with a common root: the hatred that tells a person daily that their life and the life of those they love ain't worth shit, a truth made ever more real when the people who harm you are never held accountable. ~ Patrisse Khan-Cullors
Firmino Stats quotes by Patrisse Khan-Cullors
In any year, the stats in Iowa show we are in a relatively safe location, but that can change dramatically; a lot of it depends on what travels through our campus. ~ Chuck Green
Firmino Stats quotes by Chuck Green
In the past, TSR and now Wizards of the Coast have asked me to do game stats for my characters, and I'm never comfortable doing that. It's all relative after all. ~ R.A. Salvatore
Firmino Stats quotes by R.A. Salvatore
Imagine if you had baseball cards that showed all the performance stats for your people: batting averages, home runs, errors, ERAs, win/loss records. You could see what they did well and poorly and call on the right people to play the right positions in a very transparent way. ~ Ray Dalio
Firmino Stats quotes by Ray Dalio
Want to play baseball?'" she asked. Shane's eyes opened, and he stopped stroking her hair. "What?'" "First base,'" she said. "You're already there.'" "I'm not running the bases.'" "Well, you could at least steal second.'" "Jeez, Claire. I used to distract myself with sports stats at times like these, but now you've gone and ruined it. ~ Rachel Caine
Firmino Stats quotes by Rachel Caine
How long have you done it?"

"Since the second day of B and G. The first day was a bit of a blur. I've always meant to compile some stats. Sorry. Saying it aloud sounds insane."

"I wish I'd thought of doing it, if it makes you feel better. I'm equally insane."

"You cracked the shirt code pretty quick."

"Why do you even wear them in sequence?"

"I wanted to see if you noticed. And once you did notice, it pissed you off."

"I've always noticed."

"Yeah, I know." He smiles, and I smile too. ~ Sally Thorne
Firmino Stats quotes by Sally Thorne
Lok'tar ogar!" The daemon holding me pulled my head back, exposing my throat.
"Victory or death," I retorted at my captor hoarsely. "For the Horde. And for the record, shouting World of Warcraft battle
cries kind of kills the whole 'imminent death' expectation."

The daemon paused. "What server are you on?" he demanded.
"Blackhand."
"Righteous. Guild?"

I couldn't imagine what the hell that mattered at this point, but it was keeping me alive so that was a bonus. I'd gladly spit out
the rest of my Warcraft stats if it bought me a few more minutes.

"Yeah," I coughed. "ElfhunterBitches."

He blinked and then grinned, tapping himself on the chest. "No shit. I'm TartBarbie. Undead DeathKnight."
I stared at him. "TB? Seriously? I'm Baconator. Blelf Warlock. You did a hell of a job tanking on that raid the other night."

"Yeah, I am pretty awesome." He glanced over his shoulder, releasing me. "Look, if I'd known it was you, I'd never have
agreed to this. Go on." He nudged me with a leather boot. "I'll tell them you got away."

I didn't have to be told twice. "Thanks," I said softly. "I'll make it up to you, somehow."
"No worries." He winked. "See you next Thursday. ~ Allison Pang
