If a woman cannot make her mistakes charming, she is only a female. ~ Oscar Wilde
Females People quotes by Oscar Wilde
Women differ like snowflakes. ~ Lara Biyuts
Females People quotes by Lara Biyuts
Few people on earth know Peter Drucker and his work better than Bruce Rosenstein. This is a welcome, unique and very personal addition to Drucker's incomparable legacy. ~ Bob Buford
Females People quotes by Bob Buford
You've got to open on a Sunday, but at the end of the day, you've just lost a lot of money by opening on the Sunday, so it's very, very difficult to make money when you're paying unskilled people $42 per hour. ~ Gerry Harvey
Females People quotes by Gerry Harvey
She found a deep sense of fitness in the fact that here, among people, they should be strangers; strangers and enemies. She thought, these people can think of many things he and I are to each other--except what we are. It made the moments she remembered greater, the moments not touched by the sight of others, by the words of others, not even by their knowledge. ~ Ayn Rand
Females People quotes by Ayn Rand
It's almost just a difference of mood as to whether I would describe myself one way or the other. I think I share that experience with most people. ~ Jasper Johns
Females People quotes by Jasper Johns
A Great Rabbi stands, teaching in the marketplace. It happens that a husband finds proof that morning of his wife's adultery, and a mob carries her to the marketplace to stone her to death.

There is a familiar version of this story, but a friend of mine - a Speaker for the Dead - has told me of two other Rabbis that faced the same situation. Those are the ones I'm going to tell you.

The Rabbi walks forward and stands beside the woman. Out of respect for him the mob forbears and waits with the stones heavy in their hands. 'Is there any man here,' he says to them, 'who has not desired another man's wife, another woman's husband?'
They murmur and say, 'We all know the desire, but Rabbi none of us has acted on it.'

The Rabbi says, 'Then kneel down and give thanks that God has made you strong.' He takes the woman by the hand and leads her out of the market. Just before he lets her go, he whispers to her, 'Tell the Lord Magistrate who saved his mistress, then he'll know I am his loyal servant.'

So the woman lives because the community is too corrupt to protect itself from disorder.

Another Rabbi. Another city. He goes to her and stops the mob as in the other story and says, 'Which of you is without sin? Let him cast the first stone.'

The people are abashed, and they forget their unity of purpose in the memory of their own individual sins. 'Someday,' they think, 'I may be like this woman. And I'll hope for forgiv ~ Orson Scott Card
Females People quotes by Orson Scott Card
The more we use words that in any way imply criticism, the more difficult it is for people to stay connected to the beauty within themselves. ~ Marshall B. Rosenberg
Females People quotes by Marshall B. Rosenberg
When you smile and project an aura of warmth, kindness, and friendliness, you will attract warms, kindness, and friendliness. Happy people will be drawn to you. ~ Joel Osteen
Females People quotes by Joel Osteen
There is a curious thing that happens with the passage of time: a calcification of character ... Change isn't always for the worst; the shell that forms around a piece of sand looks to some people like an irritation, and to others, like a pearl. ~ Jodi Picoult
Females People quotes by Jodi Picoult
Most people give substantial weight to anecdotal evidence, perhaps so much that it will cancel out positive recommendations found in consumer reports. People's tendency to give undue weight to some types of information is called the availability heuristic. A heuristic is a rule of thumb, a mental shortcut. Suppose someone asked you a question like what's more common in English, words that start with the letter to r words that have t as the third letter. You would have an easier time generating words that started with the letter t. Words starting with t would be more 'available'. ~ Barry Schwartz
Females People quotes by Barry Schwartz
How can you have in our country that is based upon liberality and liberation, be so anti-liberal. That's toxic waste to our consciousness. It's hard to be an American conservative because that's a contradiction in terms. Now if you take away freedom of speech, freedom of press, freedom of protest, and lock people out based upon their race, their language and their religion, that's conservative and fascist. America is a liberal idea. ~ Jesse Jackson
Females People quotes by Jesse Jackson
God, she'd never even been able to imagine this much cold before.
How could people live someplace that so obviously didn't want them? All that romance about snow and seasons ... You shouldn't have to make a special effort not to die every time you left your house. ~ Rainbow Rowell
Females People quotes by Rainbow Rowell
We're the roughest people in the way we play and live, and that is because Americans come from people who all got up one morning and went 5,000 miles, and that was a time in the 19th century when it wasn't so easy to do. ~ Alan Furst
Females People quotes by Alan Furst
As an actor, when you're doing comedies, you're around fantastic, funny people and you hopefully have a really good time doing it. ~ Ari Graynor
Females People quotes by Ari Graynor
He will grow up into one of those people who lean back to smile and jump so easily it looks like slow motion and steer cars with their knees and snitch roses from gardens to give to girls and write with their left hand and own two pairs of jeans and one jacket and fall in love from such a height and so hard and so completely that they never quite recover from the drop.
But at least he will have me to look out for him. ~ Hilary McKay
Females People quotes by Hilary McKay
I`m surrounded by people and feel alone. ~ Gayle Forman
Females People quotes by Gayle Forman
I'd also made the mistake of thinking love was a single identifiable emotion, something sharp like an arrowhead to the heart or some other romantic nonsense. It wasn't, not for most people. Love was an accumulation of things, of thoughts, feelings, desires and hopes. ~ Fabian Black
Females People quotes by Fabian Black
As for enlightenment, that's just for people who can't face reality. ~ Brad Warner
Females People quotes by Brad Warner
That's the trouble with having a "click" as Mary Wren might call it. When you define yourself by walls, who's in, who's out. The people on the other side of the wall become, not just them, but them. The outsiders. The opposition. The enemy. ~ Ruth Ware
Females People quotes by Ruth Ware
Mentorship is really important. I really like to talk to people who have been in the music industry much longer than me about artists' block, things I'm struggling with, or the music business. It's really important for artists to have a community. Sometimes you can feel quite isolated. ~ Bat For Lashes
Females People quotes by Bat For Lashes
If your prospect like your product, they'll tell 10 people. If they don't, they'll tell 1,000. ~ Timi Nadela
Females People quotes by Timi Nadela
After you are here, I will try not to become one of those parents who brag incessantly about their children, who force them to recite the alphabet backward or sing the Lord's Prayer in German to horrified dinner guests. One of those parents who tell people who aren't interested and haven't askd what their progeny's grade-point average is, what school they go to, how handsome and brilliant and psychic they are.
If something goes awry and I do become one of those parents, you have my permission to sneak into my bedroom while I am sleeping and pinch my nostrils shut. ~ Suzanne Finnamore
Females People quotes by Suzanne Finnamore
That's wrong," she declared. "Everyone must have one thing that they can excel at. It's just a matter of drawing it out, isn't it? But school doesn't know how to draw it out. It crushes the gift. It's no wonder most people never get to be what they want to be. They just get ground down. ~ Haruki Murakami
Females People quotes by Haruki Murakami
I care about people. In the end, I think they feel it. It comes across, regardless of the character I'm portraying. ~ Forest Whitaker
Females People quotes by Forest Whitaker
As much as it's hard to accept, there is hate deep rooted amongst some people using tribe or race as a means to a political end. What makes it dangerous is that politicians have mastered how to weaponise this issue mixing truths & propaganda & religiously defending it. ~ DON SANTO
Females People quotes by DON SANTO
Everybody says they want artists to make money and then when they do, everybody hates them for it. The word sellout is spit out by the bitterest, smallest parts of ourselves. Don't be one of those horrible fans who stops listening to your favorite band just because they have a hit single. Don't write off your friends because they've had a little bit of success. Don't be jealous when the people you like do well - celebrate their victory as if it's your own. ~ Austin Kleon
Females People quotes by Austin Kleon
I was always moved when mean people were suddenly nice to me. It was a weakness that would lead me into some bad relationships later in life. ~ Heather O'Neill
Females People quotes by Heather O'Neill
People seem to overlook an old man losing his mind if he occasionally made light of it. ~ Marissa Meyer
Females People quotes by Marissa Meyer
Where you can starve to death in safety," I mutter. Then I glance quickly over my shoulder. Even here, even in the middle of nowhere, you worry someone might overhear you. When I was younger, I scared my mother to death, the things I would blurt out about District 12, about the people who rule our country, Panem, from the far-off city called the Capitol. Eventually I understood this would only lead us to more trouble. So I learned to hold my tongue and to turn my features into an indifferent mask so that no one could ever read my thoughts. Do my work quietly in school. Make only polite small talk in the public market. Discuss little more than trades in the Hob, which is the black market where I make most of my money. Even at home, where I am less pleasant, I avoid discussing tricky topics. Like the reaping, or food ~ Suzanne Collins
Females People quotes by Suzanne Collins
I don't know how people pretend to be something they're not; it takes so much effort. That was always my problem, ever since I was your age. I didn't care about what people thought of me. I only wanted to be true to myself. ~ Louise O'Neill
Females People quotes by Louise O'Neill
I think I should be active politically. Because I look upon myself as a politician. That's not a dirty work you know. Some people think that there are something wrong with politicians. Of course, something wrong with some politicians. ~ Aung San Suu Kyi
Females People quotes by Aung San Suu Kyi
Arguments for preservation based on the beauty of wilderness are sometimes treated as if they were of little weight because they are "merely aesthetic". That is a mistake. We go to great lengths to preserve the artistic treasures of earlier human civilisations. It is difficult to imagine any economic gain that we would be prepared to accept as adequate compensation for, for instance, the destruction of the paintings in the Louvre. How should we compare the aesthetic value of wilderness with that of the paintings in the Louvre? Here, perhaps, judgment does become inescapably subjective; so I shall report my own experiences. I have looked at the paintings in the Louvre, and in many of the other great galleries of Europe and the United States. I think I have a reasonable sense of appreciation of the fine arts; yet I have not had, in any museum, experiences that have filled my aesthetic senses in the way that they are filled when I walk in a natural setting and pause to survey the view from a rocky peak overlooking a forested valley, or by a stream tumbling over moss-covered boulders set amongst tall tree-ferns, growing in the shade of the forest canopy, I do not think I am alone in this; for many people, wilderness is the source of the greatest feelings of aesthetic appreciation, rising to an almost mystical intensity. ~ Peter Singer
Females People quotes by Peter Singer
I learned that very often the most intolerant and narrow-minded people are the ones who congratulate themselves on their tolerance and open-mindedness. ~ Christopher Hitchens
