Emotional versatility is the art of making peace with the entire emotional spectrum by honing your capacity to channel various feelings along creative and constructive lines. It is not about controlling or condemning your feelings. It's about conducting your feelings in a self-edifying way. ~ T.K. Coleman
Emotional Freedom quotes by T.K. Coleman
The more we get attached to any relationship, the more we lose the grip on our emotional freedom. ~ Jacinta Mpalyenkana

People, like us
we feel... too deeply
consumed, in shadow
this game of chance.
Together, surviving
we unending dreamers.
People... like us. ~ Bev Flynn
Emotional Freedom quotes by Bev Flynn
Poems must, of course, be written in emotional freedom. Moreover, poems are not language but the content of the language. ~ Mary Oliver
Emotional Freedom quotes by Mary Oliver
Personal growth is not like the development of a skill. It does not take place in observable increments that can be measured and charted. Indeed, as we have seen, when we're growing in sensitivity, generosity, and compassion, we're not aware of it, because we're not focusing on ourselves. The recovery of emotional freedom simply does not have the quality, for most of us, of a controllable sequence of transformations. It's more a career of discovering futher and further weaknesses and shedding them in turn. ~ C. Terry Warner
Emotional Freedom quotes by C. Terry Warner
Developing intrinsic, emotional sustainability is the key to unlock the chains of emotional addictions... For this you must have tolerance, humility, and a desire to create happiness for yourself-independently... ~ Robin Phipps Woodall
Emotional Freedom quotes by Robin Phipps Woodall
How you react emotionally is a choice in any situation. ~ Judith Orloff
Emotional Freedom quotes by Judith Orloff
To experience emotional freedom, we must accept, surrender, and let go of our wounds. We must be willing to take responsibility for what we're holding on to, which is usually a hurt or pain from the past that leaves us feeling victimized. ~ Debbie Ford
Emotional Freedom quotes by Debbie Ford
Anything you want can come true if you cast it in the form of a "golden goal" and apply EFT-Matrix Reimprinting to get clear and activate it "in the matrix". ~ Caryl Westmore
Emotional Freedom quotes by Caryl Westmore
I crave the sweet surrender of sleep and my dreams' uncensored communication: no tiresome small talk, sucking up to impress, or tiptoeing around charged topics. Dreams are the naked truth; get ready for it. ~ Judith Orloff
Emotional Freedom quotes by Judith Orloff
If you focus on not having your SoulMate, you delay their manifestation. When you surrender and hold the spiritual belief of unity – that you are already deeply connected to your SoulMate – you speed their manifestation. ~ Annette Vaillancourt
Emotional Freedom quotes by Annette Vaillancourt
Shush – it's silent time again. ~ Carla H. Krueger
Emotional Freedom quotes by Carla H. Krueger
...the sweetness of grace and freedom comes hand in hand with the uncomfortable, bitter-rawness of honest emotions and grief. ~ Natalie Brenner
Emotional Freedom quotes by Natalie Brenner
As you heal, you see yourself more realistically. You accept that you are a person with strengths and weaknesses. You make the changes you can in your life and let go of the things that aren't in your power to change. You learn that every part of you is valuable. And you realize that all of your thoughts and feelings are important, even when they're painful or difficult. ~ Ellen Bass
Emotional Freedom quotes by Ellen Bass
By accepting life before it happens, and letting go of your inner resistance to all things you cannot change, you unlock true emotional freedom from all of your self-imposed emotional pain. ~ Hal Elrod
Emotional Freedom quotes by Hal Elrod
Family-centered parents do not have the emotional freedom, the power, to raise their children with their ultimate welfare truly in mind. If they derive their own security from the family, their need to be popular with their children may override the importance of a long-term investment in their children's growth and development. Or they may be focused on the proper and correct behavior of the moment. Any behavior that they consider improper threatens their security. They become upset, guided by the emotions of the moment, spontaneously reacting to the immediate concern rather than the long-term growth and development of the child. They may yell or scream. They may overreact and punish out of bad temper. They tend to love their children conditionally, making them emotionally dependent or counterdependent and rebellious. ~ Stephen R. Covey
Emotional Freedom quotes by Stephen R. Covey
The biology of emotional freedom depends on getting your endorphins flowing and turning off your stress hormones. How you achieve this? Laughter, exercise, meditation and doing anything that makes you loved. ~ Judith Orloff
Emotional Freedom quotes by Judith Orloff
Being in love is an emotional and obsessive experience. However, emotions change and obsessions fade. Research indicates that the average life span of the "in love" obsession is two years. For some it may last a bit longer; for some, a bit less. But the average is two years. Then we come down off the emotional high and those aspects of life that we disregarded in our euphoria begin to become important. Our differences begin to emerge and we often find ourselves arguing with the person whom we once though to be perfect. We have now discovered for ourselves that being in love is not the foundation for a happy marriage. ~ Gary Chapman
Emotional Freedom quotes by Gary Chapman
Mental and emotional freedom is not the denial of truth - it's the recognition that truth isn't something we need to run from or be afraid of. ~ T.K. Coleman
Emotional Freedom quotes by T.K. Coleman
I had finally made peace with God
and found the emotional freedom
to follow my dreams
in every aspect of my life. ~ Deborah King
Emotional Freedom quotes by Deborah King
All hurt is a consequence of focusing on what's dead. ~ Dr. Jacent Mpalyenkana, Ph.D. MBA
Emotional Freedom quotes by Dr. Jacent Mpalyenkana, Ph.D. MBA
Peace is something that comes from within. It is
created by your willingness to accept yourself. ~ Jason Nelson
Emotional Freedom quotes by Jason Nelson
Under the absolute sway of an individual despot the body was attacked in order to subdue the soul, and the soul escaped the blows which were directed against it and rose superior to the attempt; but such is not the course adopted by tyranny in democratic republics; there the body is left free, and the soul is enslaved. ~ Alexis De Tocqueville
Emotional Freedom quotes by Alexis De Tocqueville
Being heartbroken is like having this really horrible freedom. You can be selfish with your thoughts, which can lead to manic creativity, but at the same time you're just really miserable. ~ Florence Welch
Emotional Freedom quotes by Florence Welch
Liberty, taking the word in its concrete sense, consists in the ability to choose. ~ Simone Weil
Emotional Freedom quotes by Simone Weil
Vampirism: (n) 1. The condition of being a vampire, marked by the need to ingest blood and extreme vulnerability to sunlight. 2. The act of preying upon others for financial or emotional gain. 3. A gigantic pain in the butt. ~ Molly Harper
Emotional Freedom quotes by Molly Harper
Brute force, no matter how strongly applied, can never subdue the basic human desire for freedom. ~ Dalai Lama
Emotional Freedom quotes by Dalai Lama
All good writers inspire me as I have never thought I was any good. As far as a writer who made me think I could do it, it was Henry Miller. Not because I thought he was so simple that I reckoned I could pull it off as well, but it was his freedom and guts that really moved me to want to write all the time. ~ Henry Rollins
Emotional Freedom quotes by Henry Rollins
The things most people need to learn in therapy are related to attachment, abandonment, love, and fear. We are trying to access basic emotional processes that are organized in primitive and early-developing parts of the brain. The language of these emotions is also very basic; it is the language of childhood. The more complex the language and ideas you bring into therapy, the more likely you are to stimulate your clients' intellectualizing defenses. ~ Louis Cozolino
Emotional Freedom quotes by Louis Cozolino
The unveiled Algerian woman, who assumed an increasingly important place in revolutionary action, developed her personality, discovered the exalting realm of responsibility. The freedom of the Algerian people from then on became identified with woman's liberation, with her entry into history. This woman who, in the avenues of Algier or of Constantine, would carry the grenades or the submachine-gun chargers, this woman who tomorrow would be outraged, violated, tortured, could not put herself back into her former state of mind and relive her behaviour of the past; this woman who was writing the heroic pages of Algerian history was, in so doing, bursting the bounds of the narrow in which she had lived without responsibility, and was at the same time participating in the destruction of colonialism and in the birth of a new woman. ~ Frantz Fanon
Emotional Freedom quotes by Frantz Fanon
We still believe in the America that is a land of opportunity and a beacon of freedom. We believe in the America that challenges each of us to be better and bigger than ourselves. ~ Mitt Romney
Emotional Freedom quotes by Mitt Romney
I write the big scenes first, that is, the scenes that carry the meaning of the book, the emotional experience. ~ Joyce Cary
Emotional Freedom quotes by Joyce Cary
What I was utterly convinced of, and still am, is the idea that the only responsibility the free intellectual has is vis-a-vis himself. He is not responsible to either a political party or a ruler. ~ Tawfiq Al-Hakim
Emotional Freedom quotes by Tawfiq Al-Hakim
I wanted this new career to provide opportunity to integrate my rational, intuitive, and emotional parts in a cohesive way. ~ Matt Wolf
Emotional Freedom quotes by Matt Wolf
Sexual abuse is also a secret crime, one that usually has no witness. Shame and secrecy keep a child from talking to siblings about the abuse, even if all the children in a family are being sexually assaulted. In contrast, if a child is physically or emotionally abused, the abuse is likely to occur in front of the other children in the family, at least some of the time. The physical and emotional abuse becomes part of the family's explicit history. Sexual abuse does not. ~ Renee Fredrickson
Emotional Freedom quotes by Renee Fredrickson
I will to my dying day oppose, with all the powers and faculties God has given me, all such instruments of slavery on the one hand and villainy on the other, as this Writ of Assistance is. ~ James Otis
Emotional Freedom quotes by James Otis
We tend to think that refusing to exalt Christ is staying true to our self-will and personal freedom when really we are condemning ourselves. Sure, we can pretend to stay true to ourselves, but if you want to talk about reality, all of that is completely trivial if this life is an island and He's the only pilot with a plane and a flight plan. ~ Criss Jami
Emotional Freedom quotes by Criss Jami
If you shoot for the stars, you'll at least hit the moon ~ T. Harv Eker
Emotional Freedom quotes by T. Harv Eker
It is a common belief that we breathe with our lungs alone, but in point of fact, the work of breathing is done by the whole body. The lungs play a passive role in the respiratory process. Their expansion is produced by an enlargement, mostly downward, of the thoracic cavity and they collapse when that cavity is reduced. Proper breathing involves the muscles of the head, neck, thorax, and abdomen. It can be shown that chronic tension in any part of the body's musculature interferes with the natural respiratory movements.
Breathing is a rhythmic activity. Normally a person at rest makes approximately 16 to 17 respiratory incursions a minute. The rate is higher in infants and in states of excitation. It is lower in sleep and in depressed persons. The depth of the respiratory wave is another factor which varies with emotional states. Breathing becomes shallow when we are frightened or anxious. It deepens with relaxation, pleasure and sleep. But above all, it is the quality of the respiratory movements that determines whether breathing is pleasurable or not. With each breath a wave can be seen to ascend and descend through the body. The inspiratory wave begins deep in the abdomen with a backward movement of the pelvis. This allows the belly to expand outward. The wave then moves upward as the rest of the body expands. The head moves very slightly forward to suck in the air while the nostrils dilate or the mouth opens. The expiratory wave begins in the upper part of the body ~ Alexander Lowen
Emotional Freedom quotes by Alexander Lowen
The bondage we are born into is the bondage we cannot see. Verily, freedom is little more than the ignorance of tyranny. Live long enough, and you will see: Men resent not the whip so much as the hand that wields it. ~ R. Scott Bakker
Emotional Freedom quotes by R. Scott Bakker
I realize that the times I have known some sort of inner peace in my life, those have always been times when I focused on helping others more than myself ... babysitting, cooking dinner for my family, cleaning up the house, talking to a friend on the phone and just listening to them vent about something or other without offering an opinion or judging. Those have been the moments when I get to stop obsessing about myself and really feel a sense of liberation. 'Freedom from the bondage of self ... ~ Nic Sheff
Emotional Freedom quotes by Nic Sheff
He who has overcome his fears will truly be free. ~ Aristotle.
Emotional Freedom quotes by Aristotle.
Man is condemned to be free; ~ Jean-Paul Sartre
Emotional Freedom quotes by Jean-Paul Sartre
What it comes down to for me is that I'd rather us make bad decisions as a group, than to live in the absence of freedom. ~ Blake Crouch
Emotional Freedom quotes by Blake Crouch
Individual freedom and drug laws contradict each other. In a genuinely free society, people are free to ingest whatever they want to ingest, no matter how harmful or destructive. What people ingest is none of the government's business. If drug users or drug addicts wish to get help, a free society provides the means to do so. ~ Jacob G. Hornberger
Emotional Freedom quotes by Jacob G. Hornberger
The prophet proclaims that God cannot be identified with the status quo - however shiny, powerful, immortal, or divine that status quo may appear. The principalities and powers will always seek to capture and enslave God in an attempt to use the name of God to underwrite current power arrangements. To go against the status quo, declare the powers, is to go against God. Religion in this instance becomes another fear-based cudgel, wielded to protect the interests of the principalities and powers and those who currently benefit from business as usual, thus aiding in their success and survival. Consequently, before proclamation to human captives can be made - freedom to those being oppressed by current power arrangements - the prophet must dare to proclaim that God is not the spokesperson for the status quo, but rather stands outside the system - free - to speak a word of judgment. When the freedom of God is proclaimed, when God is outside the system and free to bring a word of indictment against us, the capacity is created to speak on behalf of the marginalized and the disfranchised in the name of God. Being free, God can now be for the weak and the least of these over against those at the top of current power arrangements. This was the real shock at the heart of Moses's prophetic utterance to Pharaoh - that God was on the side of the slaves and stood with them over against the divinely ordained power and authority of Egypt. ~ Richard Beck
Emotional Freedom quotes by Richard Beck
It is natural to believe in God when you're alone
quite alone, in the night, thinking about death. ~ Aldous Huxley
Emotional Freedom quotes by Aldous Huxley
Freedom without rules doesn't work. And communities do not work unless they are regulated by etiquette. ~ Judith Martin
Emotional Freedom quotes by Judith Martin
The fear of what might happen stops people but the trauma process is so beautiful and transformational.
There is nothing to fear in our emotions, they will not swallow you whole - they will speak to you in profound ways. ~ Adele Theron
Emotional Freedom quotes by Adele Theron
The thing that I enjoy about animation is the fact that it is unbridled, and there are no boundaries; when you are in the room, you don't have to focus on your clothing, make-up, hair, your choreography or your blocking; you really do have total freedom. ~ Jodi Benson
Emotional Freedom quotes by Jodi Benson
We should know and celebrate God with our whole person. While too many Christians neglect to serve God with the mind, others cultivate only their minds and neglect the emotional aspects of worship. ~ Craig S. Keener
Emotional Freedom quotes by Craig S. Keener
As a girl, I am this stupid, emotional, very loyal, sort of believe-in-values-and-principals sort of girl. ~ Priyanka Chopra
Emotional Freedom quotes by Priyanka Chopra
It is our duty to fight for our freedom.
It is our duty to win.
We must love each other and support each other.
We have nothing to lose but our chains. ~ Assata Shakur
Emotional Freedom quotes by Assata Shakur
In my heart, I am American, and I believe I have a free will and can take charge of my own destiny. ~ Ruth Ozeki
Emotional Freedom quotes by Ruth Ozeki
Whenever Monsieur Perdu looked at a book, he did not see it purely in terms of a story, retail price and an essential balm for the soul; he saw freedom on wings of paper. ~ Nina George
Emotional Freedom quotes by Nina George
Personally I have my own political views and being straight-edge I'm happy to talk about that, but the music that always meant the most to me, was more emotional. ~ Davey Havok
Emotional Freedom quotes by Davey Havok
I found that married life gave me the necessary freedom to follow an ambition which had been with me since childhood; and so I started to write in earnest. ~ Jean Plaidy
Emotional Freedom quotes by Jean Plaidy
THE MISCONCEPTION: You know why you like the things you like and feel the way you feel. THE TRUTH: The origin of certain emotional states is unavailable to you, and when pressed to explain them, you will just make something up. ~ David McRaney
Emotional Freedom quotes by David McRaney
[W]e should be mucking about all the time, because mucking about is enjoying life for its own sake, now, and not in preparation for an imaginary future. It's obvious that the mirth-filled man, the cheerful soul, the childish adult is the one who has least to fear from life. ~ Tom Hodgkinson
Emotional Freedom quotes by Tom Hodgkinson
There's a fine line between giving the sense of freedom and being too free. ~ Joe Satriani
Emotional Freedom quotes by Joe Satriani
Sometimes I would be very upset because my memories are very murky from my childhood, but there are certain emotional memories or emotional truths that are painful, and things that I know to be the case and I had to nail them down, and that was difficult. ~ Justin Torres
