Suppose it was demonstrated that one out of twenty alcoholics could learn to become a moderate social drinker. The experienced clinician would answer, 'Even if true, act as if it were false, for you will never identify that one in twenty, and in the attempt five in twenty will be ruined.' Investors should forsake the search for such tiny needles in huge haystacks. ~ Paul Samuelson
Drinker quotes by Paul Samuelson
I'm a lager drinker. I'm quite a stupid lager drinker. I do like my lager and mashed potatoes. ~ Rhona Mitra
Drinker quotes by Rhona Mitra
It is a great, a pleasant thing to have a friend with whom to walk, untroubled, through the woods, by the stream, saying nothing, at peace
the heart all clean and quiet and empty, ready for the spirit that may choose to be its guest. ~ Catherine Drinker Bowen
Drinker quotes by Catherine Drinker Bowen
I never have been a big coffee drinker. ~ James Michael Tyler
Drinker quotes by James Michael Tyler
I'm not much of a beer drinker, you know what I drink? Peach wine coolers. ~ Joe Teti
Drinker quotes by Joe Teti
I usually keep a bottle of whiskey. I'm not a big drinker, but I feel like it's important to have. ~ Rebecca Ward
Drinker quotes by Rebecca Ward
You know, Volkov, your talents as a drinker are only partly utilised. With such a vast wealth of alcoholic experience, you could earn a handsome living by writing drinking songs and become illustriously prosperous. ~ Stanley Goldyn
Drinker quotes by Stanley Goldyn
Any drinker knows how the process works: the first day you get drunk is okay, the morning after means a big head but so you can kill that easy with a few more drinks and a meal, but if you pass up the meal and go on to another night's drunk, and wake up to keep the toot going, and continue on to the fourth day, there'll come one day when the drinks wont take effect because you're chemically overloaded and you'll have to sleep it off but cant sleep any more because it was alcohol itself that made you sleep those last five nights, so delirium sets in ― Sleeplessness, sweat, trembling, a groaning feeling of weakness where your arms are numb and useless, nightmares, (nightmares of death)... well, there's more of that up later. ~ Jack Kerouac
Drinker quotes by Jack Kerouac
She said further that this Geneva blood drinker was tragically in love with Lestat. ~ Anne Rice
Drinker quotes by Anne Rice
Whether the family goes on a spiritual basis or not, the alcoholic member has to if he would recover. The others must be convinced of his new status beyond the shadow of a doubt. Seeing is believing to most families who have lived with a drinker. ~ William Griffith Wilson
Drinker quotes by William Griffith Wilson
I'm not a big drinker and I've had enough secondhand smoke for this decade and the next, so ... "
Great. All she had to do was complain about the deafening volume of the music, and she might as well slap a sticker on her forehead saying old next to the one that already said nerd.
"Band's good, though," she added. "Country's not my thing, but the players are ... proficient." And great, now she sounded like a professor. Proficient. God.
But he was nodding. "Country's not my thing, either."
"But you have a cowboy hat," she said, and as soon as the words left her lips, she realized how stupid she sounded, no - not that she sounded, but that she was. ~ Suzanne Brockmann
Drinker quotes by Suzanne Brockmann
I feed Volnay, who eats in her unusual way, delicately removing one piece of kibble at a time from her bowl, placing it on the little rug that serves as her dining room, and then eating it before going back in for a second piece of kibble. It takes her the better part of thirty minutes to finish her bowl. I'm sure if she had thumbs, she'd be patting her chin with a linen napkin after every morsel. When she finishes, she hits the water bowl. Silently. No one can figure out how she drinks, she sort of purses her lips and sucks, none of that slurping and splashing that accompany most dogs' drinking. She is a stealth drinker. When she finishes, she heads to her little bed in the corner of the kitchen to groom her fur a bit. Lovely girl. ~ Stacey Ballis
Drinker quotes by Stacey Ballis
Writing, I think, is not apart from living. Writing is a kind of double living. The writer experiences everything twice. Once in reality and once in that mirror which waits always before or behind. ~ Catherine Drinker Bowen
Drinker quotes by Catherine Drinker Bowen
About me as a drinker: I wasn't much of one and had a short, bad history of doing it. The few times I'd tried drinking I either became too much like myself or not enough, but either way it was always calamity on top of calamity and I found myself saying way too much about too little and doing the wrong things in the wrong places. Once, at my boss's Christmas party, I passed out for a minute - passed out but still, like a zombie, remained fully ambulatory and mostly functional - and when I came to, I found myself in my boss's kitchen, the refrigerator door open and me next to it at the counter, spreading mayonnaise onto two slices of wheat bread and licking the knife after each pass before I stuck it back in the jar. I heard someone cough or gag, looked up, and saw the kitchen's population staring at me, all of their mouths open and slack, obviously wondering what I thought I was doing, exactly, and all I could think to say was, "Sandwich." Which is what I said. And then, to prove my point, whatever the point was, I ate it. The sandwich, that is. ~ Brock Clarke
Drinker quotes by Brock Clarke
An old earthen pipe like myself is dry and thirsty and so a most voracious drinker of life at its source; I'm no more to be split by the vital stream than if I were stone or steel. ~ Elinor Wylie
Drinker quotes by Elinor Wylie
Wine give strenght to weary men. and
And wine can of their wits the wise beguile.
Make the sage frolic, and the serious smile. and
Let those who drink not, but austerely dine,
Dry up in law; the muses smell of wine. and
No poem was ever written by a drinker of water. and
Bacchus opens the gate of the heart. and
Might to inspire new hopes and powerful
To drown the bitterness of cares. ~ Homer
Drinker quotes by Homer
For you born writer, nothing is so healing as the realization that he has come upon the right word"
- Catherine Drinker Bowen ~ Yvonne Finn
Drinker quotes by Yvonne Finn
I lit a cigarette and began puffing on it as I drank one quick beer after another. I was neither a drinker nor a smoker nor a fighter, but I had planned to be all three on this day. ~ Pat Conroy
Drinker quotes by Pat Conroy
Colonial America had looked upon (lawyers) as mere tradesmen who earned a questionable living by cleverness and chicanery. ~ Catherine Drinker Bowen
Drinker quotes by Catherine Drinker Bowen
I'm not a big drinker. I don't really drink at all. But my dad and his pals will want to have a good swally because their nerves will be in some state, man! ~ Charlie Flynn
Drinker quotes by Charlie Flynn
Cannabis sativa and its derivatives are strictly prohibited in Turkey, and the natural correlative of this proscription is that alcohol, far from being frowned upon as it is in other Moslem lands, is freely drunk; being a government monopoly it can be bought at any cigarette counter. This fact is no mere detail; it is of primary social importance, since the psychological effects of the two substances are diametrically opposed to each other. Alcohol blurs the personality by loosening inhibitions. The drinker feels, temporarily at least, a sense of participation. Kif abolishes no inhibitions; on the contrary it reinforces them, pushes the individual further back into the recesses of his own isolated personality, pledging him to contemplation and inaction. It is to be expected that there should be a close relationsip between the culture of a given society and the means used by its members to achieve release and euphoria. For Judaism and Christianity the means has always been alcohol; for Islam it has been hashish. The first is dynamic in its effects, the other static. If a nation wishes, however mistakenly, to Westernize itself, first let it give up hashish. The rest will follow, more or less as a manner of course. Conversely, in a Western country, if a whole segment of the population desires, for reasons of protest (as has happened in the United States), to isolate itself in a radical fashion from the society around it, the quickest and surest way is for it to replace alcohol b ~ Paul Bowles
Drinker quotes by Paul Bowles
One of the marks of true genius is a quality of abundance. A rich, rollicking abundance, enough to give indigestion to ordinary people. Great artists turn it out in rolls, in swatches. They cover whole ceilings with paintings, they chip out a mountainside in stone, they write not one novel but a shelf full. It follows that some of their work is better than other. As much as a third of it may be pretty bad. Shall we say this unevenness is the mark of their humanity - of their proud mortality as well as of their immortality? ~ Catherine Drinker Bowen
Drinker quotes by Catherine Drinker Bowen
There was nothing glorious about the life of a drinker or the life of a writer. ~ Charles Bukowski
Drinker quotes by Charles Bukowski
He who aspires to be a serious wine drinker must drink claret. ~ Samuel Johnson
Drinker quotes by Samuel Johnson
All the others arts are lonely. We paint alone
my picture, my interpretation of the sky. My poem, my novel. But in music
ensemble music, not soloism
we share. No altruism this, for we receive tenfold what we give. ~ Catherine Drinker Bowen
Drinker quotes by Catherine Drinker Bowen
I had a friend who was a heavy drinker. If somebody asked him if he'd been drunk the night before, he would always answer offhandedly, 'Oh, I imagine.' I've always liked that answer. It acknowledges life as a dream. ~ Kurt Vonnegut
Drinker quotes by Kurt Vonnegut
Writing is not apart from living. Writing is a kind of double living. ~ Catherine Drinker Bowen
Drinker quotes by Catherine Drinker Bowen
Stephen came on deck reflecting with satisfaction upon his sloth, now a parlour-boarder with the Irish Franciscans at Rio, and a secret drinker of the altar-wine. ~ Patrick O'Brian
Drinker quotes by Patrick O'Brian
There is only one absinthe drinker, and that's the man who painted this idiotic picture. ~ Thomas Couture
Drinker quotes by Thomas Couture
I've never been a drinker, I've never gotten into drugs ... You know, I think I have such a close family ... I think you know my sisters do enough drinking to kind of fill up the whole family. ~ Kim Kardashian
Drinker quotes by Kim Kardashian
I used to be a drinker but I found out how bad it was and I let it alone. ~ David Edwards
Drinker quotes by David Edwards
The first time I lay actual eyes on the real David Lynch on the set of his movie, he's peeing on a tree ... Mr. David Lynch, a prodigious coffee drinker, apparently pees hard and often. ~ David Foster Wallace
Drinker quotes by David Foster Wallace
Jammed together at lunch. Not a drinker, nevertheless I experience a distinct alteration of consciousness in the presence of others - socially, but even in the classroom or seminar - a heightening, livening, intensifying sensation - a kind of euphoria. (Would the drinkers attain the same heights, without drinking? But they never make the experiment.) The process is deceptive: one feels oneself fulfilled, with these shreds and bits of other people, but at the same time one is being drained. ~ Joyce Carol Oates
Drinker quotes by Joyce Carol Oates
From 18 to 29 I was a heavy smoker, heavy drinker, drug addict, terrible eater and philanderer. The past eight years, since I got sober, have honestly been about trying to peel back each of those habits, to get back to the 12-year-old kid inside who was tremendously excited about life. ~ Dax Shepard
Drinker quotes by Dax Shepard
I'm a Yogi and a tea drinker, and having a gun is the last thing that one would expect of me as a human being. ~ Brenda Strong
Drinker quotes by Brenda Strong
I don't like the word 'alcoholic'. I like to think of myself as an advanced drinker. ~ Chelsea Handler
Drinker quotes by Chelsea Handler
I wish I hadn't met you in the rain: it comes every winter.
I wish you hadn't told me your favorite wine: I've become a drinker.
I wish I never showed you my hidden birthmark:
It looks back at me at night asking where you are.
I wish I hadn't read you my journal, all the pages praising you,
It's corrupted now that I can't tell if I write for me or you.
I wish I hadn't told you my daily routine: it's not mine anymore.
I can't enjoy 11:11, my favorite song, a birthday cake, or a concert tour.
I'm not afraid of the future, it's the past that takes a while. ~ Karl Kristian Flores
Drinker quotes by Karl Kristian Flores
And finally
the glass that contains and spills this stuff continually
while the drinker hunches before it, while the bartender gathers
up empties, gives back the drinker's own face. Who knows what it looks like;
who cares whether or not it was young once, or ever lovely,
who gives a shit about some drunk rising to stagger toward
the bathroom, some man or woman or even lost
angel who recklessly threw it all over - heaven, the ether,
the celestial works - and said, Fuck it, I want to be human? ~ Kim Addonizio
Drinker quotes by Kim Addonizio
I'm not a drinker, my body won't tolerate ... eh ... spirits, really. I had two martinis New Years Eve and I tried to hi-jack an elevator and fly it to Cuba. ~ Woody Allen
Drinker quotes by Woody Allen
Child, your lesson for today is to drink wine."
"What ? But teacher, doesn't the Sun Knight have a low tolerance for drink ?"
"The Sun Knight always forgives others, but have you ever really forgiven someone ?"
"Nope."
"The Sun Knight always wears a smile, but how many times have you really smiled from the bottom of your heart ?"
"Only a few times..."
"The Sun Knight is a benevolent spokesperson, but are you really benevolent ?"
"..."
"Child, if you have a low tolerance for drink, then how are you going to make sure that after drinking, you'll still be able to maintain the image of the Sun Knight as someone who turns red on the first cup, has a headache with the second cup, and topples over unconscious after the third ? So you see, the idea that the Sun Knight has low tolerance for drink is actually founded on the premise that the Sun Knight cannot be defeated by drink."
This argument might sound really reasonable, but when I think about it carefully, it seems to be full of contradictions as well !
"Drink up, child. You have to drink wine every night for the next month, until you can drink wine like it's just water."
"..."

The year I turned twelve, I became someone who could drink wine as easily as water, an undefeatable drinker, all for the sake of the Sun Knight's image as a lightweight drinker. ~ Yu Wo
Drinker quotes by Yu Wo
I speak truth, not so much as I would, but as much as I dare; and I dare a little more, as I grown older. ~ Catherine Drinker Bowen
Drinker quotes by Catherine Drinker Bowen
She pushed the book toward them, and Harry and Ron read: The ancient study of alchemy is concerned with making the Sorcerer's Stone, a legendary substance with astonishing powers. The Stone will transform any metal into pure gold. It also produces the Elixir of Life, which will make the drinker immortal. There have been many reports of the Sorcerer's Stone over the centuries, but the only Stone currently in existence belongs to Mr. Nicolas Flamel, the noted alchemist and opera lover. Mr. Flamel, who celebrated his six hundred and sixty-fifth birthday last year, enjoys a quiet life in Devon with his wife, Perenelle (six hundred and fifty-eight). ~ J.K. Rowling
Drinker quotes by J.K. Rowling
What pioneer ever had chart and a lighthouse to steer by? ~ Catherine Drinker Bowen
Drinker quotes by Catherine Drinker Bowen
I'm not a heavy drinker, I can sometimes go for hours without touching a drop. ~ Noel Coward
Drinker quotes by Noel Coward
Two simple principles lie at the bottom of the whole matter, and they may be precipitated into two rules. The first is that, when there is a choice, the milder drink is always the better-not merely the safer but the better. The second is that no really enlightened drinker ever takes a drink at a time when he has any work to do. There is, of course, more to it than this; but these are sufficient for the beginner, and even the virtuoso never outgrows them. ~ H.L. Mencken
Drinker quotes by H.L. Mencken
I nursed a worthless, pint drinker for twelve years and when my lazy, life-sucking, daddy finally died, I swore to God with tears in my eyes I'd never marry one. And then I did. ~ Kathryn Stockett
Drinker quotes by Kathryn Stockett
I find the treatment of royalty distinctly peculiar. The royal family lives in palaces heavily screened from prying eyes by fences, grounds, gates, guards, all designed to ensure the family absolute privacy. And every newspaper in London carried headlines announcing PRINCESS ANNE HAS OVARIAN CYST REMOVED. I mean you're a young girl reared in heavily guarded seclusion and every beer drinker in every pub knows the precise state of your ovaries. ~ Helene Hanff
Drinker quotes by Helene Hanff
There are, broadly speaking, two types of drinkers. There is the man whom we all know, stupid, unimaginative, whose brain is bitten numbly by numb maggots; who walks generously with wide-spread, tentative legs, falls frequently in the gutter, and who sees, in the extremity of his ecstasy, blue mice and pink elephants ... The other type of drinker has imagination, vision. Even when most pleasantly jingled he walks straight and naturally, never staggers nor falls, and knows just where he is and what he is doing. It is not his body but his brain that is drunken. ~ Jack London
Drinker quotes by Jack London
The intoxication of the faro drinker only shows itself at first by an increase in noise which is only deafening, and finally by a silent deterioration of the mind. ~ Gerard De Nerval
Drinker quotes by Gerard De Nerval
It was a little like Into the Sands, with Claude Barron, which she'd seen a couple of weeks ago. In that picture Claude Barron enlists in the Foreign Legion because Rita Carrol marries another guy. The other guy turns out to be a cheater and drinker, and so Rita Carrol leaves him and travels out to the desert where Claude Barron if fighting the Arabs. By the time Rita Carrol gets there he's in the hospital, wounded, or not a hospital really but just a tent and she tells him she loves him and Claude Barron says, "I went into the desert to forget about you. But the sand was the color of your hair. The desert sky was the color of your eyes. There was nowhere I could go that wouldn't be you." And then he dies. Tessie cried buckets. Her mascara ran, staining the collar of her blouse something awful. ~ Jeffrey Eugenides
Drinker quotes by Jeffrey Eugenides
That the work of a drinker who had no intention of stopping drinking should become a major propaganda piece in the campaign for Prohibition is surely one of the ironies in the history of alcohol. ~ Jack London
Drinker quotes by Jack London
I like all paintings. I always look at the paintings, good or bad, in barbershops, furniture stores, provincial hotels. I'm like a drinker who needs wine. As long as it is wine, it doesn't matter which wine. ~ Pablo Picasso
Drinker quotes by Pablo Picasso
Because in one sense the drinker learns wisdom, in the words of Goethe or Blake or whichever it was The pathway to wisdom lies through excess ~ Jack Kerouac
Drinker quotes by Jack Kerouac
To a drinker the sensation is real and pure and akin to something spiritual: you seek; in the bottle, you find. ~ Caroline Knapp
Drinker quotes by Caroline Knapp
I don't drink anymore myself, I'm moving on. And that's not to say I won't drink again. I'm not making any promises, but I don't think I was a great drinker. Some folks are great drinkers; they drink and tell jokes and laugh their asses off, and they are funny as hell. We buried one of those last week. Life is just a big test, and if you try hard, you fail. If you don't try too hard and fail a little but have a good time, maybe that is success. ~ Neil Young
Drinker quotes by Neil Young
I aint a drinker Im a thinker, call it what you want ~ Kendrick Lamar
Drinker quotes by Kendrick Lamar
I've never done this before. I didn't go to human bars. Mudslides aside, I'm not much of a drinker. Club people are not my people. Now, book-club people - ~ Molly Harper
Drinker quotes by Molly Harper
I train twice a day and I make sure I eat right. I'm an avid tea drinker and I enjoy the benefits of drinking MateFit. It gives me energy, speeds up my metabolism and helps me shed excess water weight. I also do everything from MMA sparring to strength and conditioning. I make sure to do a combination of different things with my training. ~ Miesha Tate
Drinker quotes by Miesha Tate
If the wine drinker has a deep gentleness in him, he will show that when drunk. But if he has hidden anger and arrogance, those appear. ~ Rumi
Drinker quotes by Rumi
My dad had always been a big decaf coffee drinker. But my mom had always been more of a tea drinker. So I grew up around a lot of tea. And I also really love tea. But I'm not one of those people who has ever felt the need to choose between coffee and tea. I think that is a completely false dichotomy. ~ Chelsea Clinton
Drinker quotes by Chelsea Clinton
That image of the common drunk is a myth. There is a thing called a maintenance drinker which may very well be a mother of four, a welder or a distinguished business person. These people build up a tolerance and manage to still maintain their daily lifestyles while constantly struggling with this disease, because it is a recognized disease by the American Medical Association. ~ Lisa Anderson
Drinker quotes by Lisa Anderson
If someone has had a drink in the past month,
he or she is considered a current drinker. For current drinkers there are
also questions about the amount consumed. Those who report having
had five or more drinks on any one occasion during the past month are
termed binge drinkers. If someone has had five or more drinks on at
least five occasions in the past month, he or she is categorized as a heavy
drinker.
WHO ~ Jean Kinney
Drinker quotes by Jean Kinney
Never make a blood drinker of a greater age, said Eudoxia. For a greater mortal age can only lead to misery later on from habits learned in mortal life. ~ Anne Rice
Drinker quotes by Anne Rice
I'm not a fancy person. I love small spaces. I like tiny cars. I don't buy things, aside from music and books. I don't get loads of attention and maybe it's because I'm kind of boring. I don't think I'm boring, but I have different interests. I don't go out much, not because I'm hiding but because I'm not a big drinker. I go out and have a good time, I go to concerts and stuff. ~ Ellen Page
Drinker quotes by Ellen Page
No poem was ever written by a drinker of water. ~ Horace
Drinker quotes by Horace
With a remainder of that brotherly compassion which is never totally absent from the heart of a drinker, Phoebus rolled Jehan with his foot onto one of those poor man's pillows which Providence provides on all the street corners of Paris and which the rich disdainfully refer to as heaps of garbage. ~ Victor Hugo
Drinker quotes by Victor Hugo
Many a man who has known himself at ten forgets himself utterly between ten and thirty. ~ Catherine Drinker Bowen
Drinker quotes by Catherine Drinker Bowen
In writing biography, fact and fiction shouldn't be mixed. And if they are, the fictional points should be printed in red ink, the facts printed in black ink. ~ Catherine Drinker Bowen
Drinker quotes by Catherine Drinker Bowen
I suspect it may be like the difference between a drinker and an alcoholic; the one merely reads books, the other needs books to make it through the day.
(Interview with The Booklovers blog, September 2010) ~ Gail Carriger
Drinker quotes by Gail Carriger
If art has a purpose, it is to interpret life, reproduce it in fresh visions. ~ Catherine Drinker Bowen
Drinker quotes by Catherine Drinker Bowen
Gregor was a real drinker..he didn't drink because he was sad..(or) cheerful. He drank because he was a thorough man, who like to get to the bottom of things, of bottles as well as everything else. ~ Gunter Grass
Drinker quotes by Gunter Grass
One of the best descriptions of the type of writer I am was given by Tom Paulin, who described himself as a 'binge' writer - like a binge drinker. I go on binges. ~ Seamus Heaney
Drinker quotes by Seamus Heaney
One lies to seek a bit of relief from a ponderous, suffocating reality, but the liar, like the drinker, gradually comes to need larger and larger doses. The lies become blacker and more complex, and they mesh and rub together until in the end they shine with the luster of truth. ~ Osamu Dazai
Drinker quotes by Osamu Dazai
Unlike every other product that is now manufactured for the table, wine exists in as many varieties as there are people who produce it. Variations in technique, climate, grape, soil and culture ensure that wine is, to the ordinary drinker, the most unpredictable of drinks, and to the connoisseur the most intricately informative, responding to its origins like a game of chess to its opening move. ~ Roger Scruton
Drinker quotes by Roger Scruton
I have noted that, barring accidents, artists whose powers wear best and last longest are those who have trained themselves to work under adversity. Great artists treasure their time with a bitter and snarling miserliness. ~ Catherine Drinker Bowen
Drinker quotes by Catherine Drinker Bowen
I wasn't a social drinker. I used to say that I didn't want to go to bars because they were full of assholes like me. ~ Stephen King
Drinker quotes by Stephen King
Yesterday I stood at the temple door interrogating the passersby about the mystery and merit of Love.
And before me passed an old man with an emaciated and melancholy face, who sighed and said:
"Love is a natural weakness bestowed upon us by the first man."
But a virile youth retorted:
"Love joins our present with the past and the future."
Then a woman with a tragic face sighed and said:
"Love is a deadly poison injected by black vipers, that crawl from the caves of hell. The poison seems fresh as dew and the thirsty soul eagerly drinks it; but after the first intoxication the drinker sickens and dies a slow death."
Then a beautiful, rosy-cheeked damsel smilingly said:
"Love is a wine served by the brides of Dawn which strengthens strong souls and enables them to ascend to the stars."
After her a black-robed, bearded man, frowning, said:
"Love is a divine knowledge that enables men to see as much as the gods."
Then said a blind man, feeling his way with a cane:
"Love is a blinding mist that keeps the soul from discerning the secret of existence, so that the heart sees only trembling phantoms of desire among the hills, and hears only echoes of cries from voiceless valleys."
And a feeble ancient, dragging his feet like two rags, said, in quavering tones:
"Love is the rest of the body in the quiet of the grave, the tranquility of the soul in the depth of Eternity."
And a five-year-old child, after h ~ Kahlil Gibran
Drinker quotes by Kahlil Gibran
For your born writer, nothing is so healing as the realization that he has come upon the right word. ~ Catherine Drinker Bowen
Drinker quotes by Catherine Drinker Bowen
They're professionals at this in Russia, so no matter how many Jell-O shots or Jager shooters you might have downed at college mixers, no matter how good a drinker you might think you are, don't forget that the Russians - any Russian - can drink you under the table. ~ Anthony Bourdain
Drinker quotes by Anthony Bourdain
He'd never been much of a drinker. Never thought the during was much worth the after. ~ V.E Schwab
Drinker quotes by V.E Schwab
I am an American aquarium drinker ~ Jeff Tweedy
Drinker quotes by Jeff Tweedy
Kali is the goddess of destruction, the Clawed Hands, the Blood Drinker ... And that's one side of her, as it is for any god. If you knew her for thousands of years you'd know she could be all colors. The sky is black at night, but if your eyes were good enough, they could see the different lights of a million stars. Death is part of her because death is part of life. ~ Martin Cruz Smith
Drinker quotes by Martin Cruz Smith
Elliot Rawley was a drinker, Cy's mother had been right. And he was a poor drinker. One that let the demons of the bottle into his head when he tipped it back, demons that went about unloosing all the trouble they could find stashed in the catacombs of his mind. Every tragic thing that had ever happened, every self-doubt, every delusion, freed itself from bondage and revisited him when he drank. ~ Sarah Hall
Drinker quotes by Sarah Hall
I've started doing my Kathak, and I rehearse every day. Also, I'm eating right and keeping in shape. I'm a non-smoker and non-drinker and essentially a happy person. That's what counts the most. Your well-being is reflected in your personality. ~ Madhuri Dixit

Review of Bargain with the Devil
Author: Gloria Gravitt Moulder
My interest in the death of Margaret Mitchell was sparked as a young child growing up in Georgia. I was born in 1953, 4 years after her death. Older relatives, neighbors and friends would sit around discussing her death as I was growing up and with the inquisitive mind of a young child; I found what they were saying interesting enough to listen in. They talked about how the taxi cab driver, Hugh Gravitt, (some of which knew him as this was a small southern town where everyone knew everyone) was not a drinker because of his health and how the newspaper articles had written he was drunk and speeding when it wasn't true. I overheard many things about how the media was wrong regarding the circumstances of her death. Some speculated she committed suicide; others suspected her husband pushed her in front of the car Mr. Gravitt was driving. All commented that both Margaret and John were drunk and jaywalking across Peachtree Street.
I read the book (Gone with the Wind) when I was 13 and went to see the movie in 1969 at the Fox theatre with friends. I cannot relate how this impacted me. I became interested in all I heard as a child again and over the years have read many articles on the subject of Margaret Mitchell and John Marsh. I never believed the stories about Hugh Gravitt being at fault in her death as a result of all those conversations I had overheard by my elders as a child.
~ Gloria Gravitt Moulder
Drinker quotes by Gloria Gravitt Moulder
Attorney General John Ashcroft is in intensive care. He's suffering from a severe case of pancreatitis, which they can't really figure out because he's not really a drinker. They think he might have picked up some type of infection while wiping his ass with the Bill of Rights. ~ Bill Maher
Drinker quotes by Bill Maher
Under a bad cloak there is often a good drinker ~ Miguel De Cervantes
Drinker quotes by Miguel De Cervantes
Trying to describe the process of becoming an alcoholic is like trying to describe air. It's too big and mysterious and pervasive to be defined. Alcohol is everywhere in your life, omnipresent, and you're both aware and unaware of it almost all the time, all you know is you'd die without it, and there is no simple reason why this happens, no single moment, no physiological event that pushes a heavy drinker across a concrete line into alcoholism. It's a slow, gradual, insidious, elusive becoming. ~ Caroline Knapp
Drinker quotes by Caroline Knapp
I am an avid drinker with a serious bowling problem. ~ Uncle Kracker
Drinker quotes by Uncle Kracker
I have always taken care of my body; I'm not a drinker, I've never smoked. And I've always exercised. That's all you have to do. ~ Ralph Hall
Drinker quotes by Ralph Hall
When it comes to flying, I am a nervous passenger but a confident drinker and Valium-swallower. ~ Martin Amis
Drinker quotes by Martin Amis
Your concert-goer, though he feed upon symphony as a lamb upon milk, is no true lover if he play no instrument. Your true lover does more than admire the muse; he sweats a little in her service. ~ Catherine Drinker Bowen
Drinker quotes by Catherine Drinker Bowen
I was a weekend drinker ... I'd start on Saturday, end on Friday ... thought I was controlling it ... but I don't drink any more. ~ Bill Hicks
Drinker quotes by Bill Hicks
So somebody told me that if I wasn't a coffee drinker yet, by the end of college I'd have to be, because a math major is so tough I would have to stay up very late. I was going to need coffee to do that. Well, merely because they said that, I never drank coffee in college, never got addicted to it, never needed it. ~ Danica McKellar
Drinker quotes by Danica McKellar
Beer. There's nothing I don't like about it. I love the smell, the taste - even the sound of it. The cool thunk of the cap coming off the bottle, the silvery crack of the pop-top can. You need to sip a whiskey. And I was never a sipper. I was a guzzler. I loved the feeling of it: to open wide the mouth of the soul and pour a cold one down my throat, with my mind racing ever-forward toward the next. Beer was kind and faithful, like an old friend.
