No," I hear myself say. "You're not supposed to be here."
She's sitting on my bed. She's leaning back on her elbows, legs outstretched in front of her, crossed at the ankles. And while some part of me understands I must be dreaming, there's another, overwhelmingly dominant part of me that refuses to accept this. Part of me wants to believe she's really here, inches away from me, wearing this short, tight black dress that keeps slipping up her thighs. But everything about her looks different, oddly vibrant; the colors are all wrong. Her lips are a richer, deeper shade of pink; her eyes seem wider, darker. She's wearing shoes I know she'd never wear. And strangest of all: she's smiling at me.
"Hi," she whispers.
It's just one word, but my heart is already racing. I'm inching away from her, stumbling back and nearly slamming my skull against the headboard, when I realize my shoulder is no longer wounded. I look down at myself. My arms are both fully functional. I'm wearing nothing but a white T-shirt and my underwear.
She shifts positions in an instant, propping herself up on her knees before crawling over to me. She climbs onto my lap. She's now straddling my waist. I'm suddenly breathing too fast.
Her lips are at my ear. Her words are so soft. "Kiss me," she says.
"Juliette - "
"I came all the way here." She's still smiling at me. It's a rare smile, the kind she's never honored me with. But somehow, right now, she's mine. She's mine and she's ~ Tahereh Mafi
Dream Juliette quotes by Tahereh Mafi
Who will you be, my Little Ones? Will you dance for the fires of your youth and run at midnight to water's edge, diving into summer's heat? Will you ride a wild mare to any thought or dream or love of your making? Will you seek the artistry of your own infatuations and explore ... ~ Carew Papritz
Dream Juliette quotes by Carew Papritz
I am not afraid to fail; to get lost, to dream, to be myself, to find. I am not afraid to live. ~ Kilian Jornet
Dream Juliette quotes by Kilian Jornet
In the dream of the planet it is normal for humans to suffer, to live in fear, and to create emotional dramas. The outside dream is not a pleasant dream; it is a dream of violence, a dream of fear, a dream of war, a dream of injustice. The personal dream of humans will vary, but globally it is mostly a nightmare. If we look at human society we see a place so difficult to live in because it is ruled by fear. Throughout the world we see human suffering, anger, revenge, addictions, violence in the street, and tremendous injustice. It may exist at different levels in different countries around the world, but fear is controlling the outside dream. ~ Miguel Ruiz
Dream Juliette quotes by Miguel Ruiz
Do I sleep, do I dream, or are these visions I see? ~ Cassandra Clare
Dream Juliette quotes by Cassandra Clare

- I am not a sinister! ~ Deyth Banger
Dream Juliette quotes by Deyth Banger
My music appeals in America. There is less of the purist criticism I get here. And to be a hit in the U.S ... what singer doesn't have that dream? ~ Katherine Jenkins
Dream Juliette quotes by Katherine Jenkins
If this book accomplishes anything it will be to have exposed a number of myths about the American dream, to have disabused readers of the notion that upward mobility is a function of the founders' ingenious plan, or that Jacksonian democracy was liberating, or that the Confederacy was about states' rights rather than preserving class and racial distinctions. ~ Nancy Isenberg
Dream Juliette quotes by Nancy Isenberg
It has been a week since Ami died and this morning I woke suddenly hours before dawn, indeed the same hour as when my mother died. It was not a dream that woke me, but a thought. And with that thought I could swear I heard Ami's voice.
But I am not frightened. I am joyous. Joyous with realization. For I cannot help but think what a lucky person I am. Imagine that in all the eons of time, in all the possible universes of which Dara speaks, of all the stars in the heavens, Ami and I came together for one brief and shining sliver of time.
I stop. I think.
Supposing in the grand infinity of this universe two particles of life, Ami and me, swirl endlessly like grains of sand in the oceans of the world
how much of a chance is there for these two particles, these two grains of sand, to collide, to rest briefly together ... at the same moment in time?
That is what happened with Ami and me ... this miracle of chance. ~ Kathryn Lasky
Dream Juliette quotes by Kathryn Lasky
Do you remember how the sun, set
On the occasion, we last conversed?

First, it hid behind some lousy clouds
As I was uttering my dying words

Then, out it came with a shiny glare
As I grasped the truth of your beauty

'Twas nothing but my own reflection
To my surprise and curiosity.

Now the sun's told our tale to this town
And I heard how it had made you smile

So if the thought of me drew a smile
Then, I have mastered true lover's guile ~ Zubair Ahsan
Dream Juliette quotes by Zubair Ahsan
When a man tells me God hath spoken in a dream, I know he dreamt that God spoke to him. ~ Thomas Hobbes
Dream Juliette quotes by Thomas Hobbes
The conference is geared to people who enjoy meaningful discussions and sometimes "move a conversation to a deeper level, only to find out we are the only ones there." . . . When it's my turn, I talk about how I've never been in a group environment in which I didn't feel obliged to present an unnaturally rah-rah version of myself. . . .

Scientists can easily report on the behavior of extroverts, who can often be found laughing, talking, or gesticulating. But "if a person is standing in the corner of a room, you can attribute about fifteen motivations to that person. But you don't really know what's going on inside." . . .

So what is the inner behavior of people whose most visible feature is that when you take them to a party they aren't very pleased about it? . . .

The highly sensitive tend to be philosophical or spiritual in their orientation, rather than materialistic or hedonistic. They dislike small talk. They often describe themselves as creative or intuitive . . . . They dream vividly, and can often recall their dreams the next day. They love music, nature, art, physical beauty. They feel exceptionally strong emotions--sometimes acute bouts of joy, but also sorrow, melancholy, and fear.

Highly sensitive people also process information about their environments--both physical and emotional--unusually deeply. They tend to notice subtleties that others miss--another person's shift in mood, say, or a lightbulb burning a touch too b ~ Susan Cain
Dream Juliette quotes by Susan Cain
Dreams can be like charades in which we act out words rather than see or speak them. ~ Jane Roberts
Dream Juliette quotes by Jane Roberts
God is a dream, a hope, a woman, an ironist, a father, a city, a house of many rooms, a watchmaker who left his prize chronometer in the desert, someone who loves you - even, perhaps, against all evidence, a celestial being whose only interest is to make sure your football team, army, business, or marriage thrives, prospers, and triumphs over all opposition. ~ Neil Gaiman
Dream Juliette quotes by Neil Gaiman
Your dream is real ~ Sunday Adelaja
Dream Juliette quotes by Sunday Adelaja
I'm your favorite nightmare and your worst dream all in one. I'm everything you shouldn't want. And you're everything I need. ~ Kenya Wright
Dream Juliette quotes by Kenya Wright
We can't talk about mass incarceration at this point without talking about women. ~ Dream Hampton
Dream Juliette quotes by Dream Hampton
It doesn't matter if you look different. You're still the same as everybody else because you have the same dream. ~ Natalie Du Toit
Dream Juliette quotes by Natalie Du Toit
The dream is a definite possibility. ~ Lailah Gifty Akita
Dream Juliette quotes by Lailah Gifty Akita
Two German kayakers arrive from the north at nightfall. They set up camp on the cape beach, about a third of a mile from the cabin, and come up to recharge their equipment on my solar batteries. We have to look at their photos, their films, exchange e-mail addresses. When you meet someone nowadays, right after the handshake and a quick glance you write down the website and blog information. Conversation has given way to a session in front of the screen. Afterwards, you won't remember faces or tones of voice, but you'll have cards with scribbled numbers. Human society's dream has come true: we rub our antennae together like ants. One day we'll just take a sniff. ~ Sylvain Tesson
Dream Juliette quotes by Sylvain Tesson
When the people stare at the sky and dream of blessedness, or when they quiver with fear for hell after death, their eyes get blinded so they can't see their own right of primogeniture. ~ Gerrard Winstanley
Dream Juliette quotes by Gerrard Winstanley
He sat beside her. "What sort of things did you dream of?"
"Oh, what most young girls do, I imagine. Fey tales. True love." She gave a small, self-conscious laugh. "You. ~ C.L. Wilson
Dream Juliette quotes by C.L. Wilson
I say it, and even speaking such a dream is to offer it up for taint. As long as it is secret, closed, full of blood, it is inviolable. Now I've presented it for piercing. Mitchell ~ Deborah Meyler
Dream Juliette quotes by Deborah Meyler
Dream and Ne-Yo understand what women go through, what we feel, what we talk about, what we're scared of, and I think that their records show that clearly as well. ~ Bridget Kelly
Dream Juliette quotes by Bridget Kelly
People get so focused on the big dream that they forget about the process. ~ Julia Cameron
Dream Juliette quotes by Julia Cameron
If the dreams of any so-called normal man were exposed ... there would be no more gravity and dignity left for mankind. ~ Vera Caspary
Dream Juliette quotes by Vera Caspary
Motivation enhances human worth and potential. ~ Lailah Gifty Akita
Dream Juliette quotes by Lailah Gifty Akita
I saw this was the way of the future, to leave the past behind as if it were a dream. ~ Alice Hoffman
Dream Juliette quotes by Alice Hoffman
I dream of instruments obedient to my thought and which with their contribution of a whole new world of unsuspected sounds, will lend themselves to the exigencies of my inner rhythm. ~ Edgard Varese
Dream Juliette quotes by Edgard Varese
Is there some meaning to this life?
What purpose lies behind the strife?
Whence do we come, where are we bound?
These cold questions echo and resound
through each day, each lonely night.
We long to find the splendid light
that will cast a revelatory beam
upon the meaning of the human dream.
Courage, love, friendship,
compassion, and empathy
lift us above the simple beasts
and define humanity. ~ Dean Koontz
Dream Juliette quotes by Dean Koontz
I remember how beautiful the Merrimac looked to me in childhood, the first true river I ever knew; it opened upon my sight and wound its way through my heart like a dream realized; its harebells, its rocks, and its rapids, are far more fixed in my memory than anything about the sea. ~ Lucy Larcom
Dream Juliette quotes by Lucy Larcom
This wasn't a practice anymore; it was a fight. Andrew was trying to cut Kevin off at the pass, and Kevin was daring Andrew to keep up somehow. Exy had been a raw point between them since they'd met. It was the critical part of their friendship Andrew refused to acknowledge and Kevin couldn't fix, a dream Andrew wouldn't believe in and Kevin couldn't give up on. This was a shootout years in the making, and Neil could barely breathe as he watched them struggle.
Neil was relegated to the sidelines still, but tonight he didn't mind as much. He saw his future in every shot fired and deflected, every point stolen and thwarted, and he could barely breathe through his excitement. ~ Nora Sakavic
Dream Juliette quotes by Nora Sakavic
...we can do some historical research to see how our ancestors lived. We will quickly discover that we are living in what to them would have been a dream world that we tend to take for granted things that our ancestors had to live without... ~ William B. Irvine
Dream Juliette quotes by William B. Irvine
It was another country. It was a country for the young, a country where you died before you got old. ~ Maggie Stiefvater
Dream Juliette quotes by Maggie Stiefvater
I value my privacy, and if sometimes my actions seem strange or arbitrary or capricious, I do not want them challenged. ~ George R R Martin
Dream Juliette quotes by George R R Martin
Strike on the tinder, ho!
Give me a taper! Call up all my people!
This accident is not unlike my dream:
Belief of it oppresses me already.
Light, I say, light! ~ William Shakespeare
Dream Juliette quotes by William Shakespeare
If Americans want to live the American dream, they should go to Denmark. ~ Richard G. Wilkinson
Dream Juliette quotes by Richard G. Wilkinson
The only dream I ever had was the dream of New York itself, and for me, from the minute I touched down in this city, that was enough. It became the best teacher I ever had. If your mother is anything like mine, after all, there are a lot of important things she probably didn't teach you: how to use a vibrator; how to go to a loan shark and pull a loan at 17 percent that's due in thirty days; how to hire your first divorce attorney; what to look for in a doula (a birth coach) should you find yourself alone and pregnant. My mother never taught me how to date three people at the same time or how to interview a nanny or what to wear in an ashram in India or how to meditate. She also failed to mention crotchless underwear, how to make my first down payment on an apartment, the benefits of renting verses owning, and the difference between a slant-6 engine and a V-8 (in case I wanted to get a muscle car), not to mention how to employ a team of people to help me with my life, from trainers to hair colorists to nutritionists to shrinks. (Luckily, New York became one of many other moms I am to have in my lifetime.) So many mothers say they want their daughters to be independent, but what they really hope is that they'll find a well-compensated banker or lawyer and settle down between the ages of twenty-five and twenty-eight in Greenwich, Darien, or That Town, USA, to raise babies, do the grocery shopping, and work out in relative comfort for the rest of their lives. I know this because ~ Kelly Cutrone
Dream Juliette quotes by Kelly Cutrone
I marvel that whereas the ambitious dreams of my self, Caesar, and Alexander should have vanished into thin air, a Judean peasant-Jesus-s hould be able to stretch His hands across the centuries and control the destinies of men and nations. ~ Napoleon Bonaparte
Dream Juliette quotes by Napoleon Bonaparte
It [freedom] rings bells to remind humanity that the most precious gifts in life––like children and love and time––must never be taken for granted. ~ Aberjhani
Dream Juliette quotes by Aberjhani
I grew up watching a lot of Italian and French movies, so I want to have that '70s look, in my dream movie. I want that thing that's not so much happening now, that's existentialist. ~ Ayelet Zurer
Dream Juliette quotes by Ayelet Zurer
The world is a divine dream, from which we may presently awake to the glories and certainties of day. ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
Dream Juliette quotes by Ralph Waldo Emerson
This is no dream
just my oily life
where the people are alibis
and the street is unfindable for an
entire lifetime. ~ Anne Sexton
Dream Juliette quotes by Anne Sexton
Some of us let our dreams die, but others nourish and protect them, nurse them through bad days 'till they bring them to sunshine and light. ~ Woodrow Wilson
Dream Juliette quotes by Woodrow Wilson
Paced Breathing

People who experience anxiety often breathe improperly. They take shallow breaths from their chests instead of deep breaths from their diaphragms. (The diaphragm is the muscle that separates your chest cavity from your abdominal cavity and that makes it possible for you to inhale and exhale.)
Breathing from the chest can cause you to hyperventilate, which has a negative effect on your body's chemistry. Hyperventilation does not only mean panting or gasping for air; it also includes yawning, holding your breath, and sighing. The symptoms of hyperventilation are similar to those associated with anxiety: shortness of breath, lightheadedness, faintness, tingling or numbness in your fingers and toes, and the feeling that you are walking around in a dream. If you deal with anxiety and begin to hyperventilate, it will make the situation even worse. ~ Heather Moehn
Dream Juliette quotes by Heather Moehn
I have been accused of a habit of changing my opinions. I am not myself in any degree ashamed of having changed my opinions. What physicist who was already active in 1900 would dream of boasting that his opinions had not changed during the last half century? In science men change their opinions when new knowledge becomes available; but philosophy in the minds of many is assimilated rather to theology than to science. The kind of philosophy that I value and have endeavoured to pursue is scientific, in the sense that there is some definite knowledge to be obtained and that new discoveries can make the admission of former error inevitable to any candid mind. For what I have said, whether early or late, I do not claim the kind of truth which theologians claim for their creeds. I claim only, at best, that the opinion expressed was a sensible one to hold at the time when it was expressed. I should be much surprised if subsequent research did not show that it needed to be modified. I hope, therefore, that whoever uses this dictionary will not suppose the remarks which it quotes to be intended as pontifical pronouncements, but only as the best I could do at the time towards the promotion of clear and accurate thinking. Clarity, above all, has been my aim. ~ Bertrand Russell
Dream Juliette quotes by Bertrand Russell
Being a first-rounder is a dream. You want to be mentioned as a first-rounder, the best of the best. ~ Rahim Moore
Dream Juliette quotes by Rahim Moore
No matter how hard the battle gets or no matter how many people DON'T believe in your dream,Never give up! ~ Eric Thomas
Dream Juliette quotes by Eric Thomas
Socrates is a shining example of a man who bravely lived up to his ideals, and, in the end, bravely died for them. Throughout his life, he never lost faith in the mind's ability to discern and decide, and so to apprehend and master reality. Nor did he ever betray truth and integrity for a pitiable life of self-deception and semi-consciousness. In seeking relentlessly to align mind with matter and thought with fact, he remained faithful both to himself and to the world, with the result that he is still alive in this sentence and millions of others that have been written about him. More than a great philosopher, Socrates was the living embodiment of the dream that philosophy might one day set us free. ~ Neel Burton
Dream Juliette quotes by Neel Burton
We need a dream-world in order to discover the features of the real world we think we inhabit. ~ Paul Karl Feyerabend
