Wonder if Stephen King's like us or like them..? ~ David Moody
Dog Blood quotes by David Moody
In the Spanish people there is a mixture of Gothic, Frankish and Moorish blood. One can speak of the Spaniard as one would speak of a brave anarchist. The Arabian epoch-the Arabs look down on the Turks as they do on dogs-was the most cultured, the most intellectual and in every way best and happiest epoch in Spanish history. It was followed by the period of the persecutions with its unceasing atrocities. ~ Adolf Hitler
Dog Blood quotes by Adolf Hitler
A 'possessed' dog in the neighborhood won't let me stop killing until he gets his fill of blood. ~ David Berkowitz
Dog Blood quotes by David Berkowitz
We are more than the sum of our biochemical functions. Even the tiniest flea is an incredibly complex living creature, with mouth-parts adapted to feeding on the blood of your cat or dog. ~ Robert Lanza
Dog Blood quotes by Robert Lanza
Yes, he's got all them different kinds of thoroughbred blood in him, and he's got other kinds you ain't mentioned and that you ain't slick enough to see. ~ Don Marquis
Dog Blood quotes by Don Marquis
Young blood must have its course, lad, and every dog its day. ~ Charles Kingsley
Dog Blood quotes by Charles Kingsley
I've always wanted to know what it was like to fuck a cult figure,' the Royal Porcupine said reflectively. He was lying on his mattress, watching me as I scrubbed the dog blood off my belly with a corner of his shirt, dipped in the toilet. He didn't have a sink. 'Well, ~ Margaret Atwood
Dog Blood quotes by Margaret Atwood
I would recommend to those persons who are inclined to stagnate, whose blood is beginning to thicken sluggishly in their veins, to try keeping four dogs, two of which are puppies. ~ Elizabeth Von Arnim
Dog Blood quotes by Elizabeth Von Arnim
Iceland is 50 percent Celtic blood, from the females that they stole from us, which is why our country has only got dogs left. It was a joke! I'll never be let back in Scotland again! ~ Gerard Butler
Dog Blood quotes by Gerard Butler
Lies written in ink cannot disguise facts written in blood. ~ Lu Xun
Dog Blood quotes by Lu Xun
Piper was maybe the most impressive. She fenced with the giantess Periboia, sword against sword. Despite the fact that her opponent was five times larger, Piper seemed to be holding her own. The goddess Aphrodite floated around them on a small white cloud, strewing rose petals in the giantess's eyes and calling encouragement to Piper. 'Lovely, my dear. Yes, good. Hit her again! ~ Rick Riordan
Dog Blood quotes by Rick Riordan
You get a dog on your mind, it seems to fill up the whole space. Everything you do reminds you of that dog. When ~ Phyllis Reynolds Naylor
Dog Blood quotes by Phyllis Reynolds Naylor
Does Hallmark make a "Sorry I tried to drink your blood and touched you in a vaguely inappropriate manner" card? I settled for "How much do you remember? ~ Molly Harper
Dog Blood quotes by Molly Harper
Blood was shed that you three might breathe the good air of life, and if that means you have to miss out on a Zibzy game, then so be it. Part of being a man is putting others' needs before your own. ~ Andrew Peterson
Dog Blood quotes by Andrew Peterson
Oh, that dog! Ever hear of a German Shepherd that bites its nails? Barks with a lisp? You say, "Attack!" And he has one. All he does is piddle. He's nothing but a fur-covered kidney that barks. ~ Phyllis Diller
Dog Blood quotes by Phyllis Diller
They looked at the paper and saw nothing in those curving lines, but they knew and understood everything, for their geography was in their blood and they felt biologically their picture of the world. ~ Ivo Andric
Dog Blood quotes by Ivo Andric
I am always inside you, Leonidas. My blood, my body, my mind. And that most certainly means something. Do not forget that. Leo ~ Ella Frank
Dog Blood quotes by Ella Frank
I bit her. I sunk my teeth into her lips so deep I could feel the blood spurt into my mouth. It was running down her neck when I carried her upstairs. ~ James M. Cain
Dog Blood quotes by James M. Cain
Say gray-beards what they please,
The heart of age is like an emptied wine-cup;
Its life lies in a heel-tap: how can age judge?
'Twere a waste of time to ask how they wasted theirs;
But while the blood is bright, breath sweet, skin smooth,
And limbs all made to minister delight;
Ere yet we have shed our locks, like trees their leaves,
And we stand staring bare into the air;
He is a fool who is not for love and beauty. ~ Philip James Bailey
Dog Blood quotes by Philip James Bailey
Now let's take up the minorities in our civilisation, shall we? Bigger the population, the more minorities. Don't step on the toes of the dog-lovers, the cat-lovers, doctors, lawyers, merchants, chiefs, Mormons, Baptists, Unitarians, second-generation Chinese, Swedes, Italians, Germans, Texans, Brooklynites, Irishmen, people from Oregon or Mexico. The people in this book, this play, this TV serial are not meant to represent any actual painters, cartographers, mechanics anywhere. The bigger your market, Montag, the less you handle controversy, remember that! ~ Ray Bradbury
Dog Blood quotes by Ray Bradbury
He who turns the other cheek is a cowardly dog
a Christian dog. ~ Ragnar Redbeard
Dog Blood quotes by Ragnar Redbeard
There's a psychologist called Mary & Diamond who at Brooklyn in California, in the 80s studied rats. And they took rats at different ages. Newborns, some of whom they deliberately brain damaged, adult, middle-aged, elderly rats. And they exposed these rats to different levels of environmental stimulation, better food, more playmates, toys to play with and so on.

They found out a couple of months later that the rats, at any age, including the brain-damaged rats, who had the better stimulation, they were smarter. But in the autopsy then they also found that in the front part of their brain they had larger nerve-cells with more connections with other nerve-cells and richer blood supply. In other words that environmental stimulation actually caused a change in the state of the brain, even in the older rats.

And that's called neuroplasticity. The capacity of the brain to develop new circuits. So whether it comes to ADHD, addiction, depression or other childhood disorders or any other issue with adults as well, if we recognize them not as ingrained, genetically-determined diseases, but as problems of development, then the question becomes very different. Then the question becomes not just "how do we treat the symptoms?" (and addiction itself is a symptom, depression is a symptom), but "how do we help people develop out of these conditions?"

In other words, it is not a medical question, purely, but a developmental question. And development always ~ Gabor Mate
Dog Blood quotes by Gabor Mate
Next day on returning I found him dead in the snow with his head on the sill of the door - the door of his puppyhood's days; my dog to the last in his heart of hearts - it was my help he sought, and vainly sought, in the hour of his bitter extremity. ~ Ernest Thompson Seton
Dog Blood quotes by Ernest Thompson Seton
Once blood is shed in a national quarrel reason and right are swept aside by the rage of angry men. ~ David Lloyd George
Dog Blood quotes by David Lloyd George
The blood never dies. The blood never forgets. ~ Somaiya Daud
Dog Blood quotes by Somaiya Daud
We learned sexual technique from our dog. He taught how to beg, and he taught my wife how to roll over and play dead. ~ Rodney Dangerfield
Dog Blood quotes by Rodney Dangerfield
Trouble follows me like a loyal dog. ~ Trel W. Sidoruk
Dog Blood quotes by Trel W. Sidoruk
Chemists employed by the police can do remarkable things with blood. They can weave it into a rope to hang a man. ~ Margery Allingham
Dog Blood quotes by Margery Allingham
If I found her floating in my pool, I'd punish my dog. ~ Joan Rivers
Dog Blood quotes by Joan Rivers
I'm nobody's lap dog. So, if you think I'm going to be out there chasing your ass all over D.C. tonight like some freaking, alpha control freak, think again. ~ Andrea Smith
Dog Blood quotes by Andrea Smith
The only vampires I've ever seen are the Goths trying to get a glimpse of Anne Rice's house, who drink strawberry sodas and tell each other it's blood. ~ Sherrilyn Kenyon
Dog Blood quotes by Sherrilyn Kenyon
Suddenly the blood tasted good, salty, the stuff of life. ~ Charlaine Harris
Dog Blood quotes by Charlaine Harris
An old Hasidic rabbi asked his pupils how they could tell when the night had ended and day begun, for daybreak is the time for certain holy prayers. "Is it," proposed one student, "when you can see an animal in the distance and tell whether it is a sheep or a dog?" "No," answered the rabbi. "Is it when you can clearly see the lines on your own palm?" "Is it when you can look at a tree in the distance and tell if it is a fig or a pear tree?" "No," answered the rabbi each time. "Then what is it?" the pupils demanded. "It is when you can look on the face of any man or woman and see that they are your sister or brother. Until then it is still night. ~ Jack Kornfield
Dog Blood quotes by Jack Kornfield
Console yourself not with the lie that your foe is weak, or stupid, or evil. Sometimes the enemy is worthy. Sometimes his cause is just. Sometimes both sides are right in their own ways-and in the hour that just causes collide, good men will rise up and leap into the fray, and the clash of their meeting will shake the heavens. And their blood will flow like rivers. ~ Holly Lisle
Dog Blood quotes by Holly Lisle
New Orleans could wreck your liver and poison your blood. It could destroy you financially. It could shun you or embrace you, teach you tricks of the heart you thought Tennessee Williams was just kidding about. And in August it could break your spirit. ~ Julie Smith
Dog Blood quotes by Julie Smith
Vampires, real vampires, didn't nibble on the necks of nubile young virgins. They tore people to pieces and sucked the blood out of the chunks. ~ David Wellington
Dog Blood quotes by David Wellington
Certain people have good, ordinary blood and others have an animated, lively sort of blood that comes to the face quickly. ~ Seneca.
Dog Blood quotes by Seneca.
Cats are like oysters, in that no one is neutral about them; everyone is, explicitly or implicitly, friendly or hostile to them. And they are like children in their power of discovering, by a rapid and sure instinct, who likes them and who does not. It is difficult to win their affection; and it is easy to forfeit what is hard to win. But when given, their love, although less demonstrative, is more delicate and beautiful than that of a dog. ~ Henry Parry Liddon
Dog Blood quotes by Henry Parry Liddon
I think that lesson was the most important: that none of us actually grow up. We get bigger, and older, but put of us always retains that small rabbit heart, trembling furiously, secretively, with wonder and fear. There's no irony in it. No semantics or subtext. Only red blood and green grass and silver stars ~ Leah Raeder
Dog Blood quotes by Leah Raeder
It is scarcely possible to doubt that the love of man has become instinctive in the dog. ~ Charles Darwin
Dog Blood quotes by Charles Darwin
Perched upon the stones of a bridge
The soldiers had the eyes of ravens
Their weapons hung black as talons
Their eyes gloried in the smoke of murder

To the shock of iron-heeled sticks
I drew closer in the cripple's bitter patience
And before them I finally tottered
Grasping to capture my elusive breath

With the cockerel and swift of their knowing
They watched and waited for me
'I have come,' said I, 'from this road's birth,
I have come,' said I, 'seeking the best in us.'

The sergeant among them had red in his beard
Glistening wet as he showed his teeth
'There are few roads on this earth,' said he,
'that will lead you to the best in us, old one.'

'But you have seen all the tracks of men,' said I
'And where the mothers and children have fled
Before your advance. Is there naught among them
That you might set an old man upon?'

The surgeon among this rook had bones
Under her vellum skin like a maker of limbs
'Old one,' said she, 'I have dwelt
In the heat of chests, among heart and lungs,

And slid like a serpent between muscles,
Swum the currents of slowing blood,
And all these roads lead into the darkness
Where the broken will at last rest.

'Dare say I,' she went on,'there is no
Place waiting inside where you might find
In slithering exploration of mysteries
All that you so boldly call t ~ Steven Erikson
Dog Blood quotes by Steven Erikson
Bobby conjured up something that scared him to death and he ran out of the house and never came back. Of course you're supposed to close those doors but they never did… I found these cards dating back to the Salem witch trials that were at a house in New York where we lived with Raven, and they were covered in human blood. They were horrifying. I took about ten of them and they almost destroyed my life…The toilets flushed black and there was infestation of flies. Objects were flying off the counters at us. The house smelled like Rosewater Lavender, which was an old cologne people used in the 1600's. We would tell the spirit to leave but it would go into another room. I was someone who didn't believe in any of this and in two weeks I had to become an expert or it would have killed me and my son. Finally I found out who it was, what it was and I had to return it to Salem. Since then it has been a process of getting rid of the residual effects. I had an exorcism done several times….I am a very religious person because of it today. I won't go into it any further but I will say that Cliff Burton of Metallica had the other half of the artifacts that I had and I really believe they killed him ~ Jon Wiederhorn
Dog Blood quotes by Jon Wiederhorn
Animals are good to think with. ~ Claude Levi-Strauss
Dog Blood quotes by Claude Levi-Strauss
I would like to sing someone to sleep,
to sit beside someone and be there.
I would like to rock you and sing softly
and go with you to and from sleep.
I would like to be the one in the house
who knew: The night was cold.
And I would like to listen in and listen out
into you, into the world, into the woods.
The clocks shout to one another striking,
and one sees to the bottom of time.
And down below one last, strange man walks by
and rouses a strange dog.
And after that comes silence.
I have laid my eyes upon you wide;
and they hold you gently and let you go
when something stirs in the dark. ~ Rainer Maria Rilke
Dog Blood quotes by Rainer Maria Rilke
The World card shows the fully balanced and integrated human as the Wiseone pictured in the Hermit card. Wiseones are those human beings who have married their Selves and become fully unified, living, flesh-and-blood manifestations of the Divine presence, described in the Qabalah as the Shekinah, derived from the Hebrew verb shakhan, "to dwell." Persons of this stature live on Earth, yet are validated by and depend upon the greater world (the universe) alone, shown by the fact that they are supported by and dance on air (another reference to the Fool and Spirit). They continually turn inward and upward to their God/dess Self and the Source, while turning outward and downward to the work of the everyday world at hand. Wiseones embody the concept "Trust in the universe and it will support you! ~ Joseph P. Nolen
Dog Blood quotes by Joseph P. Nolen
They were staggered to learn that a real tangible person, living in Minnesota, and married to their own flesh-and-blood relation, could apparently believe that divorce may not always be immoral; that illegitimate children do not bear any special and guaranteed form of curse; that there are ethical authorities outside of the Hebrew Bible; that men have drunk wine yet not died in the gutter; that the capitalistic system of distribution and the Baptist wedding-ceremony were not known in the Garden of Eden; that mushrooms are as edible as corn-beef hash; that the word "dude" is no longer frequently used; that there are Ministers of the Gospel who accept evolution; that some persons of apparent intelligence and business ability do not always vote the Republican ticket straight; that it is not a universal custom to wear scratchy flannels next the skin in winter; that a violin is not inherently more immoral than a chapel organ; that some poets do not have long hair; and that Jews are not always peddlers or pants-makers.

"Where does she get all them theories?" marveled Uncle Whittier Smail; while Aunt Bessie inquired, "Do you suppose there's many folks got notions like hers? My! If there are," and her tone settled the fact that there were not, "I just don't know what the world's coming to! ~ Sinclair Lewis
