I'm sure the holy refrigerator is packed solid with cartons of Blue Bell ice cream - times a million. All those amazing flavor combinations minus the calories and fat grams, of course. After all, we are talking about heaven here, amen? ~ Diane Moody
Diane Moody quotes by Diane Moody
To forgive is to set a prisoner free and discover that the prisoner was yourself. ~ Diane Moody
Diane Moody quotes by Diane Moody
I remember the analogy you gave, comparing worry to a rocking chair. 'It keeps you moving but doesn't get you anywhere. ~ Diane Moody
Diane Moody quotes by Diane Moody
Why would God give us a passion for something unless we could somehow use it for his glory? ~ Diane Moody
Diane Moody quotes by Diane Moody
El Shaddai. My all-sufficient God who is able to handle all my needs. Everything I will ever need I can find in Him. Think about that for a moment. Do you sense the power He offers us in those words? There is nothing, absolutely nothing in your life that He cannot handle. ~ Diane Moody
Diane Moody quotes by Diane Moody
My pastor, Pete Wilson, gave a message on prayer, specifically citing this idea many of us have that prayer is a kind of transaction. beside him on the platform, an object the size of a refrigerator stood cloaked beneath a black cover. He said, 'most of us have reduced prayer down to a transaction. A way to manipulate what we want. A vending machine.' At that point, he yanked off the cover revealing a large vending machine, loaded with all kinds of snacks. He inserted some coins and pushed the button for peanut M&Ms (smart man, my pastor). Nothing happened. He hit the machine a couple of times, tried to rock it. Nothing.
He continued. 'Most of the time when we go to God, it's because we want something. If we get what we want, we turn and walk off, satisfied. If we don't get what we want, we get frustrated; we kick the machine and blame God for not answering our request.'
This 'transaction' view of prayer will always disappoint us because at the root of it, we think it's all about us. but prayer is so much more than giving God a list of our wants and needs or, in some cases, our demands. Prayer is communication. It's talking and listening. ~ Diane Moody
Diane Moody quotes by Diane Moody
It's a reminder that God is always, always there. He's our rock, our strength, our refuge. And when we can't find even a minuscule trace of His handprint in what we're going through, He's reminding us that He's still there. And He always will be. No matter what. ~ Diane Moody
Diane Moody quotes by Diane Moody
The person who really wants to do something finds a way; the other person finds an excuse. - AUTHOR UNKNOWN ~ Diane Moody
Diane Moody quotes by Diane Moody
If I turn up the music of busyness, I will miss the whispers of God's call. ~ Diane Moody
Diane Moody quotes by Diane Moody
Keep on asking! Keep on seeking! Keep on knocking! Because God will answer your prayers. Every time? Always, always, always. ~ Diane Moody
Diane Moody quotes by Diane Moody
The good news is we don't have to suffer alone. We don't have to carry the burdens of our messy lives alone. God is there for us. He wants to be the Comforter in Chief for the worst that life on this earth may hand us. but we need to know Him - genuinely know Him - not just when tragedy strikes. We need to know Him every moment of every day we live. We need to quit leaving it to the professionals and make know Him the most important mission of our lives. ~ Diane Moody
Diane Moody quotes by Diane Moody
we all have gifts and talents and passions that are meant to meet the needs of others. What good does it do if we sit on those, never offering a helping hand where it's needed? Especially if we're able or have the resources to help. ~ Diane Moody
Diane Moody quotes by Diane Moody
We were created for Him. Each of us was given unique talents and interests and abilities, all for the purpose of glorifying God. ~ Diane Moody
Diane Moody quotes by Diane Moody
Move over, Emma Woodhouse. You have met your match. ~ Diane Moody
Diane Moody quotes by Diane Moody
What you are passionate about was created in you to make a splash in this life that no one else can make. Make it. Make it now. ~ Diane Moody
Diane Moody quotes by Diane Moody
Anything more important than God to you, is god to you. ~ Diane Moody
Diane Moody quotes by Diane Moody
John Bunyan once said, "In prayer it is better to have a heart without words than words without a heart." If ~ Diane Moody
Diane Moody quotes by Diane Moody
Oh Jesus, thank You. It's only through You that I can fathom such grace. To be redeemed to You through a mercy I can't even begin to understand. But I believe in You. I trust in You. And I'm clinging to Your promises as if they truly are life rafts in a dark and stormy sea. ~ Diane Moody
Diane Moody quotes by Diane Moody
Our own difficulties shouldn't blind us to the difficulties of others. ~ Diane Zahler
Diane Moody quotes by Diane Zahler
Choice is a signature of our species. ~ Diane Ackerman
Diane Moody quotes by Diane Ackerman
I noted too that I had on many occasions spoken on the subject of the pollution of the spirit (or so I told them), and how the spirit should not be polluted, and how I personally looked askance at, for instance, a latte. ~ Rick Moody
Diane Moody quotes by Rick Moody
As I go into a cemetery I like to think of the time when the dead shall rise from their graves ... Thank God, our friends are not buried; they are only sown! ~ Dwight L. Moody
Diane Moody quotes by Dwight L. Moody
With Betsy already famous for feelings, Nabby took pride in her independent spirit and level head. She declared that because love was founded in self-interest she would never be swept off her feet by a cad, and she shocked her friends by leaving a Harvard commencement party early. She shared her father's skepticism about human nature: in her opinion one was more likely to be good because one was happy than happy because one was good. "I believe our happiness is in great measure dependent upon external circumstances," Nabby wrote to Betsy, disagreeing with her cousin's view that we take an active role in our well-being. If success could be attained by effort or merit, why, she reasoned, should she be showered by "ten thousand sources of happiness" while others, who were equally devastating, were starved of the most basic needs? ~ Diane Jacobs
Diane Moody quotes by Diane Jacobs
No matter how offensive she's been to me, she continues to act as if she has some sort of God-given right to keep coming back for more favors. ~ Diane Capri
Diane Moody quotes by Diane Capri
Do they sense it, these dead writers, when their books are read? Does a pinprick of light appear in their darkness? Is their soul stirred by the feather touch of another mind reading theirs? I do hope so. ~ Diane Setterfield
Diane Moody quotes by Diane Setterfield
Everybody has a story. It's like families. You might not know who they are, might have lost them, but they exist all the same. You might drift apart or you might turn your back on them, but you can't say you haven't got them. Same goes for stories. ~ Diane Setterfield
Diane Moody quotes by Diane Setterfield
I tell you there is one thing that draws above everything else in this world, and that is love. ~ Dwight L. Moody
Diane Moody quotes by Dwight L. Moody
Pretty is a self-serving situation in which it's all about you. People who are pretty are superficial, but they are not beautiful. Beauty requires more depth. ~ Diane Keaton
Diane Moody quotes by Diane Keaton
We did exactly what everybody in the country did, watching it. You entered this state of sort of denials. You think, well, it must have been a tragic accident by an amateur pilot. And then you see the next plane coming. ~ Diane Sawyer
Diane Moody quotes by Diane Sawyer
The reason why so many Christians fail all through life is just this - they under-estimate the strength of the enemy. My dear friend; you and I have got a terrible enemy to contend with. Don't let Satan deceive you. Unless you are spiritually dead, it means warfare. Nearly everything around tends to draw us away from God. We do not step clear out of Egypt on to the throne of God. There is the wilderness journey, and there are enemies in the land. ~ D.L. Moody
Diane Moody quotes by D.L. Moody
Language spread its warm, absurd rays over all my adolescent thoughts, and I felt the way we all long to feel: moody, lonely, lovesick and explosive with the prospects of tomorrow. ~ Spencer Gordon
Diane Moody quotes by Spencer Gordon
Sometimes you can know things. Things about yourself. Things from before you can remember. ~ Diane Setterfield
Diane Moody quotes by Diane Setterfield
To be at peace in any endeavour, we must release our need to control the outcome. ~ Diane Dreher
Diane Moody quotes by Diane Dreher
Flight is nothing but an attitude in motion. ~ Diane Ackerman
Diane Moody quotes by Diane Ackerman
Is there any reason why you should not have faith in God? Has God ever broken one of His promises? I defy any infidel or unbeliever to place a finger on a single promise of God ever made and failed to fulfill. ~ Dwight L. Moody
Diane Moody quotes by Dwight L. Moody
What should we think of someone who never admits error, never entertains doubt but adheres unflinchingly to the same ideas all his life, regardless of new evidence? Doubt and skepticism are signs of rationality. When we are too certain of our opinions, we run the risk of ignoring any evidence that conflicts with our views. It is doubt that shows we are still thinking, still willing to reexamine hardened beliefs when confronted with new facts and new evidence. ~ Diane Ravitch
Diane Moody quotes by Diane Ravitch
Our skin is what stands between us and the world. ~ Diane Ackerman
Diane Moody quotes by Diane Ackerman
If you were in a burning house and there was a cat and a Rembrandt, what would you save? The cat ... you would save the cat, because the cat is alive. The art is dead. It's just paint on a canvas, ink on a page. To live for art is to deny life. It's just to destroy life. ~ Diane Frolov
Diane Moody quotes by Diane Frolov
Shaped a little like a loaf of French country bread, our brain is a crowded chemistry lab, bustling with nonstop neural conversations. Imagine the brain, that shiny mound of being, that mouse-gray parliament of cells, that dream factory, that petit tyrant inside a ball of bone, that huddle of neurons calling all the plays, that little everywhere, that fickle pleasuredome, that wrinkled wardrobe of selves stuffed into the skull like too many clothes into a gym bag. - Diane Ackerman ~ Ray Kurzweil
Diane Moody quotes by Ray Kurzweil
I read once, which I loved so much, that this great physicist who won a Nobel Prize said that every day when he got home, his dad asked him not what he learned in school but his dad said, 'Did you ask any great questions today?' And I always thought, what a beautiful way to educate kids that we're excited by their questions, not by our answers and whether they can repeat our answers. ~ Diane Sawyer
Diane Moody quotes by Diane Sawyer
I love getting up in the morning with nothing else to do except write. ~ Ron Moody
Diane Moody quotes by Ron Moody
The past was so past it hurt. ~ Rick Moody
Diane Moody quotes by Rick Moody
I'm as moody and complex and private as anyone I ever knew. ~ Ryan O'Neal
Diane Moody quotes by Ryan O'Neal
Life feels like a game of Snakes and Ladders, but without any ladders. ~ David Moody
Diane Moody quotes by David Moody
I don't lie. I would never stuff my bra because it's going to come off and the truth is going to be revealed. I don't like that padding. I try to be completely - if not brutally - honest. ~ Diane Lane
Diane Moody quotes by Diane Lane
I am now the site of an unmistakable sag ... With fancy holographic belt buckles do I attempt to restrain my stampeding softness. In vain ... My only virtues, as a physical specimen, are my sideburns, which are like the pelts of rare woodland animals. My sideburns are not to be ignored. ~ Rick Moody
Diane Moody quotes by Rick Moody
Character is what you do in the dark. ~ Dwight L. Moody
Diane Moody quotes by Dwight L. Moody
In the rain forest, no niche lies unused. No emptiness goes unfilled. No gasp of sunlight goes untrapped. In a million vest pockets, a million life-forms quietly tick. No other place on earth feels so lush. Sometimes we picture it as an echo of the original Garden of Eden - a realm ancient, serene, and fertile, where pythons slither and jaguars lope. But it is mainly a world of cunning and savage trees. Truant plants will not survive. The meek inherit nothing. Light is a thick yellow vitamin they would kill for, and they do. One of the first truths one learns in the rain forest is that there is nothing fainthearted or wimpy about plants. ~ Diane Ackerman
Diane Moody quotes by Diane Ackerman
Legal dialogue is awesome, but you can't ad lib. It's much more fun to be looser and say things like, 'Can I work in a Han Solo reference?' I'm a 'Star Wars' freak. ~ Diane Neal
Diane Moody quotes by Diane Neal
I see myself raising my children in Europe, probably in Paris. ~ Diane Kruger
Diane Moody quotes by Diane Kruger
Temperance is love in training. ~ Dwight L. Moody

It is our privilege to know that we are saved. ~ Dwight L. Moody
