Like looking through a telescope into the Milky Way and wondering if we're alone in the universe, it made me realize with the glaring clarity of desert light how scarce and delicate life is, how insignificant we are compared with the forces of nature and the dimensions of space. ~ Aron Ralston
Delicate Life quotes by Aron Ralston
The devil put before me that I could not endure the trials of the religious life, because of my delicate nurture. I defended myself against him by alleging the trials which Christ endured, and that it was not much for me to suffer something for His sake; besides, He would help me to bear it. ~ Saint Teresa Of Avila
Delicate Life quotes by Saint Teresa Of Avila
Although emotionally delicate and eminently bruisable, teenagers are short on empathy. That comes later in life, if it comes at all. ~ Stephen King
Delicate Life quotes by Stephen King
Though it is 2500 feet high, the glacier flowed over its ground as a river flows over a boulder; and since it emerged from the icy sea as from a sepulcher it has been sorely beaten with storms; but from all those deadly, crushing, bitter experiences comes this delicate life and beauty, to teach us that what we in our faithless ignorance and fear call destruction is creation. ~ John Muir
Delicate Life quotes by John Muir
When you considered this world
people winched up and lowered down into the earth in steel cages and speed-fed through the tunnels, with doors cracking everywhere, and arctic winds mingling with dusty gaps of fire from the planet's core
it was hard to believe how delicate life was, how breakable things were. ~ Martin Amis
Delicate Life quotes by Martin Amis
The melancholic breeze of another morning caressing senses tired of a brief life, yet longing for more. But my Lord, who knows the moments next, who sees the path ahead, who decides a life as delicate as a dew drop upon the tip of a grass that sways looking at the beauty of the skies? ~ Preeth Nambiar
Delicate Life quotes by Preeth Nambiar
How do you solve a delicate life problem? It depends. On what? On many variables.
The person who offers a straightforward solution to a delicate life problem is imprudent. There's no straightforward solution when it comes to choosing your career, to finding a good enough life partner, to discovering happiness or, let's say, peace of mind. ~ Vizi Andrei
Delicate Life quotes by Vizi Andrei
When you see how fragile and delicate life can be, all else fades into the background. ~ Jenna Morasca
Delicate Life quotes by Jenna Morasca
He was surprised at the way she answered. She had taken a long time to say that. She had nodded her head in a deep way too. Had she wished to affect him with some sort of premonition? He wondered unhappily. Or was it only that she would not help him, after all, by talking with him? For he was not strong enough to receive the impact of unfamiliar things without a little talk to break their fall. He had lived a month in which nothing had happened except in his head and his body - an almost inaudible life of heartbeats and dreams that came back, a life of fever and privacy, a delicate life which had left him weak to the point of - what? Of begging. The pulse in his palm leapt like a trout in a brook.

("Death of a Traveling Salesman") ~ Eudora Welty
Delicate Life quotes by Eudora Welty
We must imbue our children with principles of the higher-self, principles which see all people as true equals, and above all, which are sensitive to the delicate and fragile balance of life. ~ Bryant McGill
Delicate Life quotes by Bryant McGill
A life is a moment in season. A life is one snowfall. A life is one autumn day. A life is the delicate, rapid edge of a closing door's shadow. A life is a brief movement of arms and of legs. ~ Alan Lightman
Delicate Life quotes by Alan Lightman
I was out on a lonely road that stretched forever into the darkness. I wanted to run, to get away from him, but it was so dark, I was afraid of where I was going. ~ Christina Dodd
Delicate Life quotes by Christina Dodd
If you accomplish nothing in life... do not tell your friends... they expected it. If you accomplish success in life... find new friends,"... Redmond Herring ~ Redmond Herring
Delicate Life quotes by Redmond Herring
For some things there are no explanations - no reasons, and so, when these things happen, there is nothing to talk about really. And it is best not to dwell on said things for too long, because you will find that life has no real meaning if you do. ~ Matthew Quick
Delicate Life quotes by Matthew Quick
Why would anybody be intimidated by mere words? I mean, neither I nor any other athiest that I know ever threatens violence. We never threaten to fly planes into skyscrapers. We never threaten suicide bombs. We are very gentle people. All we do is use words to talk about things like the cosmos, the origin of the universe, evolution, the origin of life. What's there to be frightened of? It's just an opinion. ~ Richard Dawkins
Delicate Life quotes by Richard Dawkins
W. Bush's life is a case study in the insidious affirmative action for the rich. ~ Chris Hedges
Delicate Life quotes by Chris Hedges
To live, for me, Jane, is to stand on a crater-crust which may crack and spue fire any day. ~ Charlotte Bronte
Delicate Life quotes by Charlotte Bronte
The art of a sincere and heartfelt apology is one of the greatest skills you will ever learn. ~ Jeanette LeBlanc
Delicate Life quotes by Jeanette LeBlanc
Where death follows, there's life. When darkness surrounds you in a world of chaos, search and you'll eventually find the light. ~ Lee Argus
Delicate Life quotes by Lee Argus
When someone shows you their heart, their past, their wounds, they have entrusted you with the deepest part of themselves. It is the part of themselves that makes them uniquely beautiful. To be trusted in this way is a great honor. Guard that trust with your life. ~ Yasmin Mogahed
Delicate Life quotes by Yasmin Mogahed
Were you feeling all right?"
"No, not at all."
"Bellyache?"
"Yeah, a two-month bellyache called Vivian-itis. Symptoms include desperate longing and inability to do anything but feel like a douchebag. Patient can't do shit on the field but stand there like an ass, wondering what the fuck he's doing with his life. It's chronic. No known cure. ~ C.D. Reiss
Delicate Life quotes by C.D. Reiss
Early in life, I was visited by the bluebird of anxiety ~ Woody Allen
Delicate Life quotes by Woody Allen
Becoming emancipated at 14, my life wasn't normal. I didn't have to go to school, so I didn't. I was rebellious by nature. I spent my 20s focusing on my company, Flower Films, and producing movies. Now that I'm almost 30, I would like to try other things in lie. I'm crazy about photography, and I want to take an art history class. ~ Drew Barrymore
Delicate Life quotes by Drew Barrymore
It has been discovered that all the world is made of the same atoms, that the stars are of the same stuff as ourselves. It then becomes a question of where our stuff came from. Not just where did life come from, or where did the earth come from, but where did the stuff of life and of the earth come from? ~ Richard P. Feynman
Delicate Life quotes by Richard P. Feynman
A basic reality of life is that we all struggle. We hurt and have hurt other people. We all feel lost sometimes.
This isn't all we are, but it is a part of who we are. The only question I have when I'm with someone is, Can they admit it? And will they let me admit it too? ~ Anna White
Delicate Life quotes by Anna White
One life, One story. Make it a fairytale. ~ T.A
Delicate Life quotes by T.A
Men We Reaped is a fiercely felt meditation on the value of life that at once reminds us of its infinite worth and indicts us - as a society - for our selective, casual complicity in devaluing it. Ward's account of these losses is founded in a compelling emotional honesty, and graced with moments of stark poetry. ~ Peter Ho Davies
Delicate Life quotes by Peter Ho Davies
Meanwhile, someplace in the world, somebody is making love and another a poem. Elsewhere in the universe, a star manyfold the mass of our third-rate sun is living out its final moments in a wild spin before collapsing into a black hole, its exhale bending spacetime itself into a well of nothingness that can swallow every atom that ever touched us and every datum we ever produced, every poem and statue and symphony we've ever known - an entropic spectacle insentient to questions of blame and mercy, devoid of why.
"In four billion years, our own star will follow its fate, collapsing into a white dwarf. We exist only by chance, after all. The Voyager will still be sailing into the interstellar shorelessness on the wings of the "heavenly breezes" Kepler had once imagined, carrying Beethoven on a golden disc crafted by a symphonic civilization that long ago made love and war and mathematics on a distant blue dot.
But until that day comes, nothing once created ever fully leaves us. Seeds are planted and come abloom generations, centuries, civilizations later, migrating across coteries and countries and continents. Meanwhile, people live and people die - in peace as war rages on, in poverty and disrepute as latent fame awaits, with much that never meets its more, in shipwrecked love.
I will die.
You will die.
The atoms that huddled for a cosmic blink around the shadow of a self will return to the seas that made us.
What will survive of us are shoreless ~ Maria Popova
Delicate Life quotes by Maria Popova
Dispensing with the frivolity, he kissed her meaningfully. When at last he pulled away, her troubled expression alarmed him. "What?"
"Be careful, Hammond."
"No one will know I was here."
She shook her head. "Not that."
"Then what?"
"You may have to put me on trial for my life. Please be careful that you don't make me fall in love with you first. ~ Sandra Brown
Delicate Life quotes by Sandra Brown
You must understand that you do have the power to change your relationships and your life, but it is likely going to be frightening at first. The alternative is to live a fairly unhappy and unsatisfying life in which fear dictates your choices and their relationships. ~ Randi Kreger
Delicate Life quotes by Randi Kreger
Never favour those who flatter you most, but hold rather to those who risk your displeasure for your own good. Never neglect business for pleasure, organise your life so that there is time in it for relaxation and entertainment. Give the business of government your full attention. Inform yourself as much as you can before taking any decision. Make every effort to get to know men of distinction, so that you may call on them when you need them. Be courteous to all, speak hurtfully to no man. ~ E.H. Gombrich
Delicate Life quotes by E.H. Gombrich
Oh, dear Hazel." Aphrodite folded her fan. "Such optimism, yet you have heartrending days ahead of you. Of course war is coming. Love and war always go together. They are the peaks of human emotion! Evil and good, beauty and ugliness. ~ Rick Riordan
Delicate Life quotes by Rick Riordan
Demons find all kinds of people." Her eyes darkened. "Just because I don't share them doesn't mean they aren't running right alongside my life. ~ J.L. Drake
Delicate Life quotes by J.L. Drake
I hang on to the statement of scientists that there is no time. Therefore, join me in telling everyone you are thirty-two. This allows me to go after young men and plan grabbing husbands from my girlfriends. Choosing to live in the timeless, I am now at the easiest and happiest time of my life. ~ Beatrice Wood
Delicate Life quotes by Beatrice Wood
This is what happens when you live in dreams, he thought: you dream this and you dream that and you sleep right through your life. ~ Jess Walter
Delicate Life quotes by Jess Walter
I know for a fact, obviously, because my kids grew up watching the show, that there are some things they are introduced to from 'The Simpsons', and then later in life they see the thing we're parodying. My kids had not seen 'Casablanca,' and we'd done parodies of 'Casablanca.' ~ Matt Groening
Delicate Life quotes by Matt Groening
Raskin's memoir is oddly entertaining. Perhaps it is his earnestness and determination. So long as he believes Ando will guide and support him, who are we to spoil the illusion? Who are we to doubt?

Perhaps it is the way Raskin peculiarly juxtaposes love with food, history with pop culture, and his life in San Francisco with his travels through Asia. Perhaps it is his voice, confident yet humble, self-effacing and unassuming.

Or perhaps it is simply how he reminds us of the guys we knew in college, the ones who frequently faltered but genuinely meant well, who were inherently messed up but had significant potential, the ones who carried themselves a certain way, in short, the ones we couldn't help rooting for. ~ San Francisco Chronicle
Delicate Life quotes by San Francisco Chronicle
I acknowledge that such a debt [of service to my fellow-citizens] exists, that a tour of duty in whatever line he can be most useful to his country, is due from every individual. It is not easy perhaps to say of what length exactly that tour should be, but we may safely say of what length it should not be. Not of our whole life, for instance, for that would be to be born a slave-not even of a very large portion of it. ~ Thomas Jefferson
Delicate Life quotes by Thomas Jefferson
We cannot learn patience by reading a book or hearing a lecture. The only way we can learn patience is by going through the trials that God assigns to us. The trials of life are the tools God uses to mature us, to build our faith, and to get us to trust the Spirit and not the flesh. ~ Warren W. Wiersbe
Delicate Life quotes by Warren W. Wiersbe
You know, when you talked about good days and bad days, do you think right now counts as the good days?"
"It depends. How do you feel right now?"
Rania closed her eyes when she said, "I feel strange. I haven't felt like this for a long time."
Zaheed took a deep breath. "How so?"
She shrugged. "Perhaps, it's because I'm in a whole new place, where I haven't set my foot before; the air smelt different and I'm talking to a stranger. It made me feel like I've just had all my memories erased and replaced with new ones. ~ Diyar Harraz
Delicate Life quotes by Diyar Harraz
Every life must be given the chance to realize its full potential - that every life matters. ~ Barack Obama
Delicate Life quotes by Barack Obama
It makes it hard to get over a certain period of your life when you are constantly revisiting it every night. ~ Daniel Johns
Delicate Life quotes by Daniel Johns
I used to think that destiny was fluid, because isn't that the point of every Disney movie and Saturday-morning cartoon? You make your own choices. You decide how life goes. I always thought that your fate line would change if something happened, bam, something goes wrong and the line on your palm goes all wonky to reflect that. Nope. It still looks fine. ~ Amy Zhang
Delicate Life quotes by Amy Zhang
Today, I encourage you to consider your life, your values, and your relationships and consider who you are by the test of what you do. I invite you to re-affirm the values you hold dear and decide today to stand up for what you believe is right and good in the world. ~ Genevieve Gerard
Delicate Life quotes by Genevieve Gerard
And she realized, standing there, that in all her practical plans for marriage, she'd never thought about the simple pleasure of being loved. ~ Jude Watson
Delicate Life quotes by Jude Watson
Looking beyond life's imperfections allows one to be able to find happiness. Life is not perfect, ever. For me, remembering that life is flawed, people are flawed, and therefore relationships are flawed, allows me to look at the flaws and imperfections as part of life itself. A perfect life includes all of the flaws associated with what and who you surround yourself with. My life and my means of living it are no exception. I was, as all people are, flawed. I accepted myself as being flawed no differently than I accepted others as being so. ~ Scott Hildreth
Delicate Life quotes by Scott Hildreth
Life is where you're at. Whatever you're doing is enough. You don't need to do everything well all the time. When you live your life like that, it's a huge relief. ~ Cindy Crawford
Delicate Life quotes by Cindy Crawford
Life is a beautiful collection of temporary experiences. Treasure your unique collection, and enjoy sharing it with others. ~ Matthew Kahn
Delicate Life quotes by Matthew Kahn
Sometimes life is like a video game. When things get harder, and the obstacles get tougher, it just means you leveled up. ~ Lilah Pace
Delicate Life quotes by Lilah Pace
Ten years ago a book appeared in France called D'Une foi l'autre, les conversions a l'Islam en Occident. The authors, both career journalists, carried out extensive interviews with new Muslims in Europe and America. Their conclusions are clear. Almost all educated converts to Islam come in through the door of Islamic spirituality. In the middle ages, the Sufi tariqas were the only effective engine of Islamisation in Muslim minority areas like Central Asia, India, black Africa and Java; and that pattern is maintained today.

Why should this be the case? Well, any new Muslim can tell you the answer. Westerners are in the first instance seeking not a moral path, or a political ideology, or a sense of special identity - these being the three commodities on offer among the established Islamic movements. They lack one thing, and they know it - the spiritual life. Thus, handing the average educated Westerner a book by Sayyid Qutb, for instance, or Mawdudi, is likely to have no effect, and may even provoke a revulsion. But hand him or her a collection of Islamic spiritual poetry, and the reaction will be immediately more positive. It is an extraordinary fact that the best-selling religious poet in modern America is our very own Jalal al-Din Rumi. Despite the immeasurably different time and place of his origin, he outsells every Christian religious poet.

Islam and the New Millennium ~ Abdal Hakim Murad
Delicate Life quotes by Abdal Hakim Murad
Life must go on, even if it's no joke ... just pretend to believe in the future. ~ Louis Ferdinand Celine
Delicate Life quotes by Louis Ferdinand Celine
Everything in life had its phases, and if you were smart, you learned to appreciate them all.

What really mattered, though, were the people in those moments with you. Memories are what we have and what we keep, and I held mine close. The ones I knew well, like a night on the beach with a boy who would always live in my heart, and the ones yet to come with another. ~ Sarah Dessen
Delicate Life quotes by Sarah Dessen
Everything in life is possible, so better focus on your future so that at the end you can grant a better life for all ~ K.C Mathobela
Delicate Life quotes by K.C Mathobela
Each to their own reality ~ T. Donaldson
Delicate Life quotes by T. Donaldson
It is very remarkable, that in the book of life, we find some almost of all kinds of occupations, who notwithstanding served God in their respective generations, and shone as so many lights in the world. ~ George Whitefield
Delicate Life quotes by George Whitefield
Mrs. Lot was a sandwich-generation woman, not sure what life might hold for her-scared of going forward, frightened of going back. ~ Liz Curtis Higgs
Delicate Life quotes by Liz Curtis Higgs
I have always been attracted to difficult work. There really doesn't seem much point in looking for the easy life as an actor. I would simply get bored. ~ Robert Powell
Delicate Life quotes by Robert Powell
Promise yourself to make all your friends know there is something in them that is special and that you value. ~ John Wooden
Delicate Life quotes by John Wooden
Every person who is really an artist desires to create inside of himself another, deeper, more interesting life than the one that actually surrounds him. ~ Konstantin Stanislavski
Delicate Life quotes by Konstantin Stanislavski
The idea of hunting and gathering as the best way for life has become quite popular recently, much more populare in some circles than the idea of simple farming as the best way of life. Many of the new primitives regard the beginnings of agriculture as one of humanity's major steps in the wrong direction. Most of the people who are drawn to such ideas do their actual hunting and gathering in grocery stores, but the *feeling* is there; it takes the form of a religion ... expressed by particpating in American Indian rituals - or primitive-style rituals that are created anew. ~ Walter Truett Anderson
