Davidji Meditation quotes by John Calvin
The unknown scares man, but those who confront it, will cease to fear it" (Rodolfo Rios Medina) ~ Rodolfo Rios Medina
Davidji Meditation quotes by Rodolfo Rios Medina
When one learns a different way of dealing with the situation, one no longer has to have a purpose. One is not on the way to somewhere. Or rather, one is on the way and one is also at the destination at the same time. That is really what meditation is for. ~ Chogyam Trungpa
Davidji Meditation quotes by Chogyam Trungpa
Learn to be quiet enough to hear the genuine within yourself so that you can hear it in others. ~ Marian Wright Edelman
Davidji Meditation quotes by Marian Wright Edelman
Of course there are dozens of meditation techniques, but it all comes down to this - just let it all be. Step over here where it is cool, out of the battle. Why not give it a try? ~ Ajahn Chah
Davidji Meditation quotes by Ajahn Chah
Daoist Ordination – Receiving a valid "Lu" 收录 Register
Since returning to the US, and living in Los Angeles, many (ie, truly many) people have come to visit my office and library, asking about Daoist "Lu" 录registers, and whether or not they can be purchased from self declared "Daoist Masters" in the United States. The Daoist Lu register and ordination ritual can only be transmitted in Chinese, after 10+ years of study with a master, learning how to chant Zhengyi or Quanzhen music and liturgy, including the Daoist drum, flute, stringed instruments, and mudra, mantra, and visualization of spirits, where they are stored in the body, how they are summoned forth, for which one must be able to use Tang dynasty pronunciation of classical Chinese texts, ie "Tang wen" 唐文, to be effective and truly transmitted. Daoist meditation and ritual 金录醮,黄录斋 must all be a part of one's daily practice before going to Mt Longhu Shan and passing the test, which qualifies a person for one of the 9 grades of ordination (九品) the lowest of which is 9, highest is 1; grades 6 and above are never taught at Longhu Shan, only recognized in a "test", and awarded an appropriate grade ie rank, or title.
Orthodox Longhu Shan Daoists may only pass on this knowledge to one offspring, and one chosen disciple, once in a lifetime, after which they must "pass on" (die) or be "wafted to heaven." Longmen Quanzhen Daoists, on the other hand, allow their knowledge to be transmitted and practiced, in classical C ~ Michael Saso

Meditation works in many layers. It works in our genes, in our DNA ~ Amit Ray
Davidji Meditation quotes by Amit Ray
Spiritual practice is not just sitting and meditation. Practice is looking, thinking, touching, drinking, eating and talking. Every act, every breath, and every step can be practice and can help us to become more ourselves. ~ Nhat Hanh
Davidji Meditation quotes by Nhat Hanh
My prayer tends very much toward what you call fana [annihilation in God]. There is in my heart this great thirst to recognize totally the nothingness of all that is not God. My prayer is then a kind of praise rising up out of the center of Nothing and Silence. If I am still present "myself," this I recognize as an obstacle about which I can do nothing unless He Himself removes the obstacle. If He wills, He can make the Nothingness into a total clarity. If He does not will, then the Nothingness seems itself to be an object and remains an obstacle. Such is my ordinary way of prayer, or meditation. It is not "thinking about" anything, but a direct seeking of the Face of the Invisible, who cannot be found unless we become lost in Him who is invisible.3 ~ Cynthia Bourgeault
Davidji Meditation quotes by Cynthia Bourgeault
Here is, in truth, the whole secret of Yoga, the science of the soul. The active turnings, the strident vibrations, of selfishness, lust and hate are to be stilled by meditation, by letting heart and mind dwell in spiritual life, by lifting up the heart to the strong, silent life above, which rests in the stillness of eternal love, and needs no harsh vibration to convince it of true being. ~ Patanjali
Davidji Meditation quotes by Patanjali
Ego is the greatest hurdle for your ascent. You see that ego is at a place where you have to just cross to go to Sahasrara, and to break Sahasrara is very easy otherwise. But if there is ego, you are already lost in that ego. ~ Nirmala Srivastava
Davidji Meditation quotes by Nirmala Srivastava
Vinayak chakra and the atharvha chakra are the two vital chakras for longevity and immunity. They strengthen the B cells of the immune system. ~ Amit Ray
Davidji Meditation quotes by Amit Ray
Whatever you focus on during meditation, you psychically travel to and touch. In meditation, when you think of somebody, you actually go into their aura. That is the issue. Keep your meditation pristine, unalloyed. ~ Frederick Lenz
Davidji Meditation quotes by Frederick Lenz
Relaxation is… a state between waking and sleeping, where the body is completely still and the mind is allowed to flow freely from one thought to another, or alternately, a state in which the mind becomes inadvertently calm. ~ Gudjon Bergmann
Davidji Meditation quotes by Gudjon Bergmann
Unless you open the wings of your heart. Unless you forgive all. You cannot move. You cannot fly in the land of light. ~ Amit Ray
Davidji Meditation quotes by Amit Ray
Sometimes people will think, I need to have pre-sanctioned spiritual joy. Getting joy from my contemplative meditation practice or getting joy from reading Thich Nhat Hahn books. Those things can be joyful but I think it's the small, simple joys of playing with dogs or having sex with someone you love or going for a walk outside, stuff that we tend to ignore. ~ Moby
Davidji Meditation quotes by Moby
Tantric scholars and Kundalini gurus often draw a distinction between the chakras as witnessed through Kundalini experiences and the Westernized model of the chakras as a "personal growth system." Some claim that this distinction is so great that there is no meaningful relationship between the two...yet I do not see these experiences as unrelated, but existing on a continuum.

I firmly believe that clearing the chakras through understanding their nature, practicing related exercises and using visualization and meditation, prepares the way for a spiritual opening that is apt to be less tumultuous than is so often the case for Kundalini awakenings. I believe this Westernization is an important step for speaking to the Western mind in a way that is harmonious with the circumstances in which we live, rather than antithetical to it. It gives us a context in which these experiences can occur.

Likewise, there are many who say that the chakras, as vortices in the subtle body, have nothing whatsoever to do with the physical body or the central nerve ganglia emanating from teh spinal column, and that a spiritual awakening is not a somatic experience. Because an experience is not *entirely* somatic does not mean that its somatic aspect is negated.... I believe this view is just more evidence of the divorce between spirit and body that I find to be the primary illusion from which we must awaken. ~ Anodea Judith
Davidji Meditation quotes by Anodea Judith
Meditation is listening to the divine within ~ Edgar Cayce
Davidji Meditation quotes by Edgar Cayce
In meditation, silently and serenely, all words are transcended.
In Illumination, all things appear as is.
Silence is the ceasing of ego-grasping. Illumination is the functioning of the wonder of wisdom.
The unity of these two is awakening to Buddha Nature. ~ Sheng Yen
Davidji Meditation quotes by Sheng Yen
"To be a spiritual teacher you need to develop the skills and the art to convey the truth to others. It is the most difficult art, because something has to be said about something that cannot be said in language, something has to be transmitted which is not transmitable.
To be a spiritual teacher needs a particular training, a particular training to convey, a particular training to help, a particular training to advice and counsel, a particular training to create new devices and methods, because every individual and age need something different. ~ Swami Dhyan Giten
Davidji Meditation quotes by Swami Dhyan Giten
The most difficult battle is peace. ~ Lorin Morgan-Richards
Davidji Meditation quotes by Lorin Morgan-Richards

Davidji Meditation quotes by Curtis Tyrone Jones
The simplicity of meditation means just experiencing the ape instinct of ego. ~ Chogyam Trungpa
Davidji Meditation quotes by Chogyam Trungpa
I hate having to do small talk. I'd rather talk about deep subjects. I'd rather talk about meditation, or the world, or the trees or animals, than small, inane, you know, banter. ~ Ellen DeGeneres
Davidji Meditation quotes by Ellen DeGeneres
The quiet of the morning offers a perfect time to do a meditation and yoga practice. It also allows time to be creative or to contemplate before the business of the day. ~ Kandyse McClure
Davidji Meditation quotes by Kandyse McClure
At the end of meditation period we always bow and we touch our head to the floor and say "Buddha's name be praised." ~ Frederick Lenz
Davidji Meditation quotes by Frederick Lenz
I think to say that meditation is helpful to artists is true and it's great, but it's also essentially helpful to any kind of process of, just, life. ~ Amanda Palmer
Davidji Meditation quotes by Amanda Palmer
I think meditation helps greatly with creativity. If it's a pure expression of yourself no matter what it is or what medium, it's going to shine. It's going to resonate. ~ Rainn Wilson
Davidji Meditation quotes by Rainn Wilson
Be true to yourself. Don't take no for an answer. And start your Transcendental Meditation. ~ David Lynch
Davidji Meditation quotes by David Lynch
Walk, but make walking a meditation; walk knowingly Breathe, but let your breathing become a constant meditation; breathe knowingly. The breath going in: watch it. The breath going out: watch it. Eat, but eat with full awareness. Take a bite, chew it, but go on watching. Let the watcher be there in every moment, whatsoever you are doing. ~ Rajneesh
Davidji Meditation quotes by Rajneesh
For better or worse, I tend to do a lot of thinking in my poems. But lately I've been trying to pay more attention to when and where I do that thinking, to be attentive to the settings in which meditation takes place. Sometimes the disconnect between the mind and the world is itself revealing, but in 'The Whole World Is Gone,' I think the setting deeply complements, indeed elicits and allows, a certain set of realizations to occur. ~ Jennifer Grotz
Davidji Meditation quotes by Jennifer Grotz
By meditating, we´re learning to disengage ourselves from habitual clinging and disperse the defilements and obscurations that hinder our capacity to serve others, such as illusory feelings of scarcity and fears of deprivation. We gradually learn to be more conscious and make better choices. We develop simplicity instead of comlexity, open-mindedness instead of narrow-mindedness, flexibility rather than rigidity. We feel ourselves to be more available to others and to give more generously of ourselves. ~ Surya Das
Davidji Meditation quotes by Surya Das
The wind plays its own music. ~ Bert McCoy
Davidji Meditation quotes by Bert McCoy
Helpers carry a heavy load, they listen, love, cry, and often go into the depths of others' pain. They sometimes enter darkness that no person should have to step into: the darkness of the abuse of a child, of mental health, of our cultural propensity to sit back and do nothing about it. They bear this each day. ~ Jenn Bruer
Davidji Meditation quotes by Jenn Bruer
A good traveller is one who knows how to travel with the mind. ~ Michael Bassey Johnson
Davidji Meditation quotes by Michael Bassey Johnson
I do pranayama breathing now as a meditation, and that's very helpful. Meditating changed my life. ~ John Feldmann
Davidji Meditation quotes by John Feldmann
Meditate, oft. Separate thyself for a season from the cares of the world. Get close to nature and learn from the lowliest of that which manifests in nature, in the earth; in the birds, in the trees, in the grass, in the flowers, in the bees; that the life of each is a manifesting, is a song of glory to its Maker. And do thou likewise! ~ Edgar Cayce
Davidji Meditation quotes by Edgar Cayce
You become someone else when you meditate. It isn't just a little technique. If you really pursue it, you change radically - you evolve. ~ Frederick Lenz
Davidji Meditation quotes by Frederick Lenz
Some Of The Greatest Rewards of Prayer And Meditation Is The Sense Of Feeling Loved And Of Being Blessed Enough To Know The Dire Need For Finding PEACE In Your Life. ~ Timothy Pina
Davidji Meditation quotes by Timothy Pina
Zen- Dojo Tozan was not in Sarnen or Thu but somewhere between the two, not in a village but in the tall grass and blue flowers. ~ Ann Patchett
Davidji Meditation quotes by Ann Patchett
Those who sit perfectly physically usually take more time to obtain the true way of Zen. ~ Shunryu Suzuki
Davidji Meditation quotes by Shunryu Suzuki
Meditation does not involve trying to change your thinking by thinking some more. It involves watching thought itself. The watching is the holding. By watching your thoughts without being drawn into them, you can learn something profoundly liberating about thinking itself, which may help you to be less of a prisoner of those thought patterns (….) ~ Jon Kabat-Zinn
Davidji Meditation quotes by Jon Kabat-Zinn
Concentration is the creation of the instrument; meditation is the right use of it; contemplation transcends it. ~ Christmas Humphreys
Davidji Meditation quotes by Christmas Humphreys
Learning to focus attention and concentration is very useful; meditation can help you do that. ~ Andrew Weil
Davidji Meditation quotes by Andrew Weil
Meditation provides a way of learning how to let go. As we sit, the self we've been trying to construct and make into a nice, neat package continues to unravel. ~ John Welwood
Davidji Meditation quotes by John Welwood
Being in ballet class, being on the stage, being surrounded by my peers at American Ballet Theater every day, keeps me so humble and grounded. Being in ballet class, I feel, is like this meditation for me every morning. ~ Misty Copeland
