Everyone I know who used to be in the intelligence community is moving into the corporate world. ~ Tony Gilroy
Corporate World quotes by Tony Gilroy
The broadening of the economic order which came to be seated in the individual property owner ... dramatized by Jefferson's purchase of the Louisiana Territory ... The supremacy of corporate economic power ... consolidated by the Supreme Court decision of 1886 which declared that the Fourteenth Amendment protected the corporation ... [the New Deal, leading to], within the political arena, as well as in the corporate world itself, competing centers of power that challenged those of the corporate directors. ~ C. Wright Mills
Corporate World quotes by C. Wright Mills
I expect the notions of personal freedom and representative government would appear radical to a slave of the corporate world." "A ~ Anthony Ryan
Corporate World quotes by Anthony Ryan
Apple's approach to career development is yet another way it runs contrary to the norms at other companies. The prevalent attitude for workers in the corporate world is to consider their growth trajectory. What's my path up? How do I get to the next level? Companies, in turn, spend an inordinate amount of time and money grooming their people for new responsibilities. They labor to find just the right place for people. But what if it turns out all that thinking is wrong? What if companies encouraged employees to be satisfied where they are because they're good at what they do, not to mention because that might be what's best for shareholders?

Instead of employees fretting that they were stuck in terminal jobs, what if they exalted in having found their perfect jobs? A certain amount of office politics might evaporate in a corporate culture where career growth is not considered tantamount to professional fulfilment. Shareholders, after all, don't care about fiefdoms and egos. There are many professionals who would find it liberating to work at what they are good at, receive competitive killer compensation, and not have to worry about supervising others or jockeying for higher rungs on an org chart. ~ Adam Lashinsky
Corporate World quotes by Adam Lashinsky
Every year in consulting is like three years in the corporate world because you have multiple clients, multiple issues - you grow so much. ~ Indra Nooyi
Corporate World quotes by Indra Nooyi
I expected, as I approached the corporate world, to enter a brisk, logical, nonsense-free zone, almost like the military - or a disciplined, up-to-date military anyway - in its focus on concrete results. How else would companies survive fierce competition? But what I encountered was a culture riven with assumptions unrelated to those that underlie the fact- and logic-based worlds of, say science and journalism - a culture addicted to untested habits, paralyzed by conformity, and shot through with magical thinking. ~ Barbara Ehrenreich
Corporate World quotes by Barbara Ehrenreich
I vacillate well between the ghetto and the private sector, but only in small doses. I'm too much of a "keeping it real" kind of girl to survive in the corporate world. ~ L.V. Lewis
Corporate World quotes by L.V. Lewis
The corporate world is appallingly bad at capitalizing on the strengths of its people. ~ Marcus Buckingham
Corporate World quotes by Marcus Buckingham
Overcoming the blame tendency is a defining issue in the corporate world. Ben Dattner, a psychologist and organizational consultant, tells of an experience when he was working at the Republic National Bank of New York. He noticed a piece of paper that a co-worker had stapled to his cubicle wall. It read:

'The six phases of a project:
1. Enthusiasm
2. Disillusionment
3. Panic
4. Search for the guilty
5. Punishment of the innocent
6. Rewards for the uninvolved'

Dattner writes: 'I have yet to come across a more accurate description of how most dramas play out in our working lives. ~ Matthew Syed
Corporate World quotes by Matthew Syed
I'm always surprised when the corporate world does stupid things, because they're often not very stupid in hindsight. ~ Penn Jillette
Corporate World quotes by Penn Jillette
I remember how, in the corporate world, I always knew there was some higher position I could attain, which meant that, like Zeno's arrow, I was guaranteed never to arrive and always to remain dissatisfied. ~ Pico Iyer
Corporate World quotes by Pico Iyer
Many stock options in the corporate world have worked in exactly that fashion: they have gained in value simply because management retained earnings, not because it did well with the capital in its hands. ~ Warren Buffett
Corporate World quotes by Warren Buffett
That is indeed the best way to dumb down the masses: make them do the same thing over and over; let them have their fireworks every Bastille Day and let them gorge themselves every New Year's Eve. When the body repeats the same action, the mind adopts it and keeps the repetition going day and night, stopping all thought processes. ~ Maude Julien
Corporate World quotes by Maude Julien
You would be surprised at how many corporations "none of your business" applies to! ~ Steven Magee
Corporate World quotes by Steven Magee
That's not easy to find in a corporate world, somebody who cares about music. ~ Michael Penn
Corporate World quotes by Michael Penn
For all the talk about the need to be a likable "team player," many people work in a fairly cutthroat environment that would seem to be especially challenging to those who possess the recommended traits. Cheerfulness, upbeatness, and compliance: these are the qualities of subordinates
of servants rather than masters, women (traditionally, anyway) rather than men. After advising his readers to overcome the bitterness and negativity engendered by frequent job loss and to achieve a perpetually sunny outlook, management guru Harvey Mackay notes cryptically that "the nicest, most loyal, and most submissive employees are often the easiest people to fire." Given the turmoil in the corporate world, the prescriptions of niceness ring of lambs-to-the-slaughter. ~ Barbara Ehrenreich
Corporate World quotes by Barbara Ehrenreich
(H)er qualifications for the Supreme Court are non-existent. She is not a brilliant jurist, indeed, has never been a judge. She is not a scholar of the law. Researchers are hard-pressed to dig up an opinion. She has not had a brilliant career in politics, the academy, the corporate world or public forum. Were she not a friend of Bush, and female, she would never have even been considered. ~ Pat Buchanan
Corporate World quotes by Pat Buchanan
I used to think of work as a bad word. Back in the corporate world, work was something that prevented me from living, something that kept me from feeling satisfied or fulfilled or passionate. Even the word itself carried with it a negative connotation. Work - bluck! When I left the corporate world, I swore off the word altogether. Noun, verb, adjective - I avoided all of work's iterations. I no longer 'went to work,' so that was easy to remove from my vocabulary. In fact, I no longer 'worked' at all; instead I replaced the word with a more specific verb: I would 'write' or 'teach' or 'speak' or 'volunteer,' but I refused to 'work.' I no longer went to the gym to 'workout'; instead I 'exercised.' And I stopped wearing 'work clothes'; I chose instead to wear 'dress clothes.' And I avoided getting 'worked up,' preferring to call it 'stress' or 'anxiety.' And I didn't bring my car to the shop to get 'worked on,' deciding instead to have my vehicle 'repaired.' Hell, I even avoided 'handiwork' 92 and 'housework,' selecting their more banal alternatives. Suffice it to say, I wanted nothing to do with the word. I wanted it not only stricken from my lexicon, but from my memory, erasing every shred of the thing that kept me from pursuing my dream for over a decade. But after a year of that nonsense, I realized something: it wasn't the word that was bad; it was the meaning I gave to the word. It took removing the word from my everyday speech for a year to discover that it wasn't a bad w ~ Joshua Fields Millburn
Corporate World quotes by Joshua Fields Millburn
Maybe it's working because I'm an author, and maybe it's working because Karen works like life depends on this bookstore, or because we have a particularly brilliant staff, or because Nashville is a city that is particularly sympathetic to all things independent. Maybe we just got lucky. But my luck has made me believe that changing the course of the corporate world is possible. Amazon doesn't get to make all the decisions; the people can make them by how and where they spend their money. If what a bookstore offers matters to you, then shop at a bookstore. If you feel that the experience of reading a book is valuable, then read the book. This is how we change the world: we grab hold of it. We change ourselves. ~ Ann Patchett
Corporate World quotes by Ann Patchett
In fact the "mask" theme has come up several times in my background reading. Richard Sennett, for example, in "The Corrosion of Character: The Personal Consequences of Work in the New Capitalism", and Robert Jackall, in "Moral Mazes: The World of Corporate managers", refer repeatedly to the "masks" that corporate functionaries are required to wear, like actors in an ancient Greek drama. According to Jackall, corporate managers stress the need to exercise iron self-control and to mask all emotion and intention behind bland, smiling, and agreeable public faces.
Kimberly seems to have perfected the requisite phoniness and even as I dislike her, my whole aim is to be welcomed into the same corporate culture that she seems to have mastered, meaning that I need to "get in the face" of my revulsion and overcome it. But until I reach that transcendent point, I seem to be stuck in an emotional space left over from my midteen years: I hate you; please love me. ~ Barbara Ehrenreich
Corporate World quotes by Barbara Ehrenreich
I like to judge people and it was clear to me that Colin's life has been about as exciting as a cluster headache. You can tell this just from his humour tumour which runs through every conversation you have with him. I got the impression that Colin had arrived at his early fifties resenting the fact that he's spent his entire career worshiping at the altar of Dynasty PLC. But he is now so indoctrinated by the world of corporate banking that he's forgotten how to express the real him.

This is what a life working for large corporations does to people. The workplace is a place not to be you; it's a place to be the corporate you. The you that doesn't really exist. We all see this corporate you and pretend that it's a normal part of life. But we know that something isn't quite right. We know that the real you is slowly fading away like old wallpaper. The corporate you is a myth; just like Icarus. And yet we are powerless against it. All of us are powerless against the wrath of the corporate world. ~ Rupert Dreyfus
Corporate World quotes by Rupert Dreyfus
I've done reasonably well over the last 10 years because I took the strategy of language and politics and applied it to the corporate world, which has never been done before. ~ Frank Luntz
Corporate World quotes by Frank Luntz
Our bodies speak, if you would only listen. They speak another language: the mother tongue. It's half the puzzle, the missing pieces you have been searching for, the how and why behind the symptoms you fixate on, the whole behind the healing, which cannot be found at the bottom of a bottle of pills.
But you do not speak our language. My sick sisterhood, whose bodies have been felled by mysterious illnesses, bearing the arcane names of men long dead, to signify their suffering with no cure, no hope. The mothers who long for answers to the questions that their bodies are living, for soul-utions to the protest against this cold, hard world.
Into their dry hungry mouths are dropped pills not answers. Prescriptions and descriptions of symptoms – not cures or laws to halt the toxic corporate world that is allowed to carry on felling us like trees in the Amazon…
Each woman is an Amazon. But she does not know it. Instead she is treated. Separately. Her pile of notes, her bills, growing higher. Each one believes the sickness is hers alone. Each is sent home, ignored, tolerated.
Alone. In the darkness.
Until one day Medicine Woman arises within her.
And there in the centre of her pain she finds her outrage, her strength, her persistence as she searches for answers. She finds the will to die to this world and the right to live a different life where she is honoured for the value of her soul, not the sweat of her brow.
She begins to understand the messa ~ Lucy H. Pearce
Corporate World quotes by Lucy H. Pearce
The definition of hell in the legal system is: endless due process and no justice; (in the corporate world) it would be: endless due diligence and no horse sense. ~ Charlie Munger
Corporate World quotes by Charlie Munger
The silent workers get lost in the endless
darkness of the corporate world. Those
who work hard and constantly seek to
be visible to their superiors, those who
showcase their hard work, are the ones who
advance to positions of greater power and
responsibility. ~ Abhishek Ratna
Corporate World quotes by Abhishek Ratna
Profit maximization may be the 'end' but the means to achieve this end, is what matters, and that distinguishes a company in the corporate world and the market ~ Henrietta Newton Martin
Corporate World quotes by Henrietta Newton Martin
Once you understand the process of corporate globalization, you have to see that what happened in Argentina, the devastation of Argentina by the IMF, is part of the same machine that is destroying Iraq. Both are efforts to break open and to control markets. And so Argentina is destroyed by the chequebook, and Iraq is destroyed by the cruise missile. If the chequebook won't work, the cruise missile will. Hell hath no fury like a market scorned. ~ Arundhati Roy
Corporate World quotes by Arundhati Roy
Entrepreneurship is not a theory, it is an experiment. ~ Amit Kalantri
Corporate World quotes by Amit Kalantri
Ambivalence about family responsibilities has a long history in the corporate world. ~ Rosabeth Moss Kanter
Corporate World quotes by Rosabeth Moss Kanter
I believe that in order to tackle the big issues of the world today, like environmental issues, we need everybody's involvement. We need the resources of the corporate world. We need the cooperation of governments. We need the wisdom of indigenous people. ~ Michael Franti
Corporate World quotes by Michael Franti
I don't think of the ashram world as being any more spiritual than the corporate world. ~ Karan Bajaj
Corporate World quotes by Karan Bajaj
My father is a very successful man in the corporate world, and I am his only son. He had certain dreams for me. I was scared to tell him that I wanted to be an actor. ~ Ram Kapoor
Corporate World quotes by Ram Kapoor
I'm not a trained academic. Neither am I a veteran social worker. I was 26 years in the corporate world, trying to make organizations profitable. And then in 2003 I started Parikrma Humanity Foundation from my kitchen table. ~ Shukla Bose
Corporate World quotes by Shukla Bose
The cultural situation in America today (and indeed in all Western societies) is determined by the cultural earthquake of the nineteen-sixties, the consequences of which are very much in evidence. What began as a counter-culture only some thirty years ago has achieved dominance in elite culture and, from the bastions of the latter (in the educational system, the media, the higher reaches of the law, and key positions within government bureaucracy), has penetrated both popular culture and the corporate world. It is characterized by an amalgam of both sentiments and beliefs that cannot be easily catalogued, though terms like 'progressive,' 'emancipators or 'liberationist' serve to describe it. Intellectually, this new culture is legitimated by a number of loosely connected ideologies - leftover Marxism, feminism and other sexual identity doctrines, racial and ethnic separatism, various brands of therapeutic gospels and of environmentalism. An underlying theme is antagonism toward Western culture in general and American culture in particular. A prevailing spirit is one of intolerance and a grim orthodoxy, precisely caught in the phrase "political correctness. ~ Peter L. Berger
Corporate World quotes by Peter L. Berger
For success in corporate world, it is essential to identify and seek what you want. ~ Abhishek Ratna
Corporate World quotes by Abhishek Ratna
I've always maintained that if I wasn't studying psychopaths in prison, I'd do so at the stock exchange," he enthused. "Without doubt, there's a greater proportion of psychopathic big hitters in the corporate world than there is in the general population. You'll find them in any organization where your position and status afford you power and control over others, and the chance of material gain. ~ Kevin Dutton
Corporate World quotes by Kevin Dutton
Occupy is really the first sustained response to this. People have referred to the Tea Party as a response, but that is highly misleading. The Tea Party is relatively affluent, white. Its influence and power come from the fact that it has enormous corporate support and heavy finance. Parts of the corporate world simply see them as their shock troops, but it's not a movement in the serious sense that Occupy is. ~ Noam Chomsky
Corporate World quotes by Noam Chomsky
People are everything in education, just as in the corporate world. ~ Wendy Kopp
Corporate World quotes by Wendy Kopp
NGOs have a complicated space in neoliberal politics. They are supposed to mop up the anger. Even when they are doing good work, they are supposed to maintain the status quo. They are the missionaries of the corporate world. ~ Arundhati Roy
Corporate World quotes by Arundhati Roy
Audiences forget facts, but they remember stories. Once you get past the jargon, the corporate world is an endless source of fascinating stories. ~ Ian P. Griffin
Corporate World quotes by Ian P. Griffin
We unfortunately live in a corporate world where group decision making is made to avoid failure rather than to achieve success. ~ Bill Cahan
Corporate World quotes by Bill Cahan
All I know about 1970s New York City is that it's where I grew up, and you always have an umbilical connection to the time and place of your growing up. It was cheap, didn't have too many people in it, you could go to the movies or whatever on the spur of the moment, you could get by without working too much and especially without involving yourself in the corporate world. ~ Luc Sante
Corporate World quotes by Luc Sante
She represents something about the corporate world that repel me, some deep coldness masked as relentless cheerfulness. ~ Barbara Ehrenreich
Corporate World quotes by Barbara Ehrenreich
The speed of modern life is an oppressive thing, and the corporate world is quick to punish those with an honest heart. ~ Fennel Hudson
Corporate World quotes by Fennel Hudson
The religion of the corporate world is novelty. What is new is always right. ~ Corinne Maier
Corporate World quotes by Corinne Maier
And so I'm still giving some thought - I will transition hopefully into the corporate world. And I look forward to getting involved in several other areas that I have a great interest in. ~ Hugh Shelton
Corporate World quotes by Hugh Shelton
Spiritual leaders say that as a matter of course prosperity will come when you are pursuing the right things with your life. To feel truly prosperous, you may have to leave the corporate world for good simply because prosperity and freedom go hand in hand. For some people this means having to give up a substantial amount of their income, at least for a certain period of time. ~ Ernie J Zelinski
Corporate World quotes by Ernie J Zelinski
A survey of high-earning professionals in the corporate world found that 62 percent work more than fifty hours a week and 10 percent work more than eighty hours per week.18 Technology, while liberating us at times from the physical office, has also extended the workday. A 2012 survey of employed adults showed that 80 percent of the respondents continued to work after leaving the office, 38 percent checked e-mail at the dinner table, and 69 percent can't go to bed without checking their in-box.19 ~ Sheryl Sandberg
Corporate World quotes by Sheryl Sandberg
After my health suffered due to the stress of running my second company, I had to switch careers. But I still didn't want to go back to the corporate world. So I became an academic. ~ Vivek Wadhwa
Corporate World quotes by Vivek Wadhwa
Sometimes I wonder why the corporate world is seen as a god choice for those of us that will never rise above clerical work and general administration. ~ Rob Payne
Corporate World quotes by Rob Payne
All this security and prospects are different for different people. Somebody is happy playing music and with a less pay, somebody is secure in the corporate world with a high pay with headache. We have individual tastes, tastes are not universal. ~ Ravindra Shukla
Corporate World quotes by Ravindra Shukla
Since the beginning of time there have been people who see themselves as being above the law. To them the laws don't apply. These people often hold positions
in government and in the corporate world. Does a similar mentality exist within the casino world?
You betcha! ~ John-Talmage Mathis
Corporate World quotes by John-Talmage Mathis
Then why? Nobody does all this for nothing, so what is it that you're looking to get from all this? Huh? What is it that you want from me?"
Without hesitating, Vance leaned forward and pierced me with his stare. "I just want you to know that there are good guys out there. There are people in this world you can trust, that don't have ulterior motives. You just have to find them." He paused, allowing the candor behind his words to sink in. "The only thing I want, Rosie, is to see you happy. ~ Riley Jean
Corporate World quotes by Riley Jean
I'll tell you why I keep my scrapbooks. It's in case my real father shows up .I never met him, don't even know his name ... I've got this feeling he's out there searching for me. When he bursts through the door and tells me he's spent a fortune on detectives looking all over the world for me, I'm not going to sit there like a dumb cluck when he asks me what I've been doing. I'm going to yank out my eleven scrapbooks filled with my experiences and inner-most thoughts on life lived in three time zones in America. I was a Girl Scout for three months when we lived in Atlanta. I couldn't get those square knots down for anything, but I got the big concept. Be prepared. Addie always told me, It's more important to get the big concept than to be an expert in the small stuff. ~ Joan Bauer
Corporate World quotes by Joan Bauer
If you knew your potential to feel good, you would ask no one to be different so that you can feel good. You would free yourself of all of that cumbersome impossibility of needing to control the world, or control your mate, or control your child. You are the only one who creates your reality. For no one else can think for you, no one else can do it. It is only you, every bit of it you. ~ Esther Hicks
Corporate World quotes by Esther Hicks
I am inspired by those who dedicate their lives to bringing about positive social change throughout the world. ~ Ian Anthony Dale
Corporate World quotes by Ian Anthony Dale
To live and die on a planet where she'd never see the stars again – to raise a child surrounded by metal walls, no view of the beauty in space, no hope for a better world ahead… ~ Autumn Kalquist
Corporate World quotes by Autumn Kalquist
My botanical documents should contribute to restoring the link with nature. They should reawaken a sense of nature, point to its teeming richness of form, and prompt the viewer to observe for himself the surrounding plant world. ~ Karl Blossfeldt
Corporate World quotes by Karl Blossfeldt
The Internet contains everything in the whole wide world ever. I don't know about you, but I find everything in the whole wide world ever to be a bit distracting. ~ Dave Gorman
Corporate World quotes by Dave Gorman
A "Hybrid" mind with both creativity and analytics can better adapt to a hybrid world. ~ Pearl Zhu
Corporate World quotes by Pearl Zhu
But we must not forget that all things in the world are connected with one another and depend on one another, and that we ourselves and all our thoughts are also a part of nature. It is utterly beyond our power to measure the changes of things by time. Quite the contrary, time is an abstraction, at which we arrive by means of the change of things; made because we are not restricted to any one definite measure, all being interconnected. A motion is termed uniform in which equal increments of space described correspond to equal increments of space described by some motion with which we form a comparison, as the rotation of the earth. A motion may, with respect to another motion, be uniform. But the question whether a motion is in itself uniform, is senseless. With just as little justice, also, may we speak of an "absolute time" --- of a time independent of change. This absolute time can be measured by comparison with no motion; it has therefore neither a practical nor a scientific value; and no one is justified in saying that he knows aught about it. It is an idle metaphysical conception. ~ Ernst Mach
Corporate World quotes by Ernst Mach
It is time to end the western policy of malign neglect. It is in the interest of the whole world to help tackle the actual grievances in Palestine, Kashmir, and in central and southern Iraq, and to help the region out of its economic backwardness. ~ James Buchan
Corporate World quotes by James Buchan
Thou doubtest because thou lovest the truth. Some would willingly believe life but a phantasm, if only it might for ever afford them a world of pleasant dreams: thou art not of such! Be content for a while not to know surely. The hour will come, and that ere long, when, being true, thou shalt behold the very truth, and doubt will be for ever dead. Scarce, then, wilt thou be able to recall the features of the phantom. Thou wilt then know that which thou canst not now dream. Thou hast not yet looked the Truth in the face, hast as yet at best but seen him through a cloud. That which thou seest not, and never didst see save in a glass darkly - that which, indeed, never can be known save by its innate splendour shining straight into pure eyes - that thou canst not but doubt, and art blameless in doubting until thou seest it face to face, when thou wilt no longer be able to doubt it. ~ George MacDonald
Corporate World quotes by George MacDonald
While the behavior of the Russian government, Putin and Putin punks are abhorrent, nothing will be changed by boycotting the Sochi Winter Games. In fact, those who are appalled by the treatment of LGBT Russian citizens will lose an incredible opportunity for the world to show their disgust. ~ David Mixner
Corporate World quotes by David Mixner
I find that people in the food world are amazingly willing to talk about what they are doing, even when those things are quasi-legal or taboo. ~ Dana Goodyear
Corporate World quotes by Dana Goodyear
Lastly I would like to thank all of the assholes in the world, without which this book would not be possible. ~ Albert Vidal
Corporate World quotes by Albert Vidal
When all the world is old, lad, And all the trees are brown; And all the sport is stale, lad, And all the wheels run down, Creep home and take your place there, The spent and maimed among: God grant you find one face there You loved when all was young. ~ Susanna Kearsley
Corporate World quotes by Susanna Kearsley
The Muslim world is threatened by religious fanaticism. The Western world is threatened by secular fanaticism. ~ Dennis Prager
Corporate World quotes by Dennis Prager
There is, perhaps, no more dangerous man in the world than the man with the sensibilities of an artist but without creative talent. With luck such men make wonderful theatrical impresarios and interior decorators, or else they become mass murderers or critics. ~ Dame Edna Everage
Corporate World quotes by Dame Edna Everage
Obama was quite serious when he said he was going to change the world. And now he has a national crisis, a personal mandate, a pliant Congress, a desperate public
and, at his disposal, the greatest pot of money in galactic history. ~ Charles Krauthammer
Corporate World quotes by Charles Krauthammer
Jesus Christ was a patriot! His country was the world. His laws were the eternal principles of liberty, and his followers, in every age, have been the chosen champions of freedom! ~ Orson F. Whitney
Corporate World quotes by Orson F. Whitney
I am a musician, ya know; music is my world. ~ Stephen Marley
Corporate World quotes by Stephen Marley
Is it always to be a winners-losers world, or can we keep everyone in the game? Do we still have what it takes to find a better way? ~ Robert Fulghum
Corporate World quotes by Robert Fulghum
He is Jason and Hercules and Perseus
a figure so strong and beautiful and heroic that the blood of the gods must flow through him, because how else could a being so fine exist in this world? ~ J. Kenner
Corporate World quotes by J. Kenner
Part of this individualism is you feel this pressure that you alone have to conquer the world, and if you don't work all the hours God gives then you start feeling really guilty. If you can stop feeling guilty, then I think it's easier to start doing what you want to do. ~ Tom Hodgkinson
Corporate World quotes by Tom Hodgkinson
...do we realize that this cheap grace has turned back upon us like a boomerang? The price we are having to pay today in the shape of the collapse of the organized Church is only the inevitable consequence of our policy of making grace available to all at too low a cost. We gave away the word and sacraments wholesale, we baptized, confirmed, and absolved a whole nation unasked and without condition. Our humanitarian sentiment made us give that which was holy to the scornful and unbelieving. We poured forth unending streams of grace. But the call to follow Jesus in the narrow way was hardly ever heard. Where were those truths which impelled the early Church to institute the catechumenate, which enabled a strict watch to be kept over the frontier between the Church and the world, and afforded adequate protection for costly grace? What had happened to all those warnings of Luther's against preaching the gospel in such a manner as to make men rest secure in their ungodly living? Was there ever a more terrible or disastrous instance of the Christianizing of the world than this? What are those three thousand Saxons put to death by Charlemagne compared with the millions of spiritual corpses in our country today? With us it has been abundantly proved that the sins of the fathers are visited upon the children unto the third and fourth generations. Cheap grace has turned out to be utterly merciless to our Evangelical church. ~ Dietrich Bonhoeffer
Corporate World quotes by Dietrich Bonhoeffer
That instead of running directly back to your assigned world and your work – and your prince – you're staying in the Library for long enough to have coffee. And not just a cup, but a whole pot. Has it been a bad few days? ~ Genevieve Cogman
Corporate World quotes by Genevieve Cogman
I have always loved the competitive forces in this business. You know I certainly have meetings where I spur people on by saying, "Hey, we can do better than this. How come we are not out ahead on that?" Thats what keeps my job one of the most interesting in the world. ~ Bill Gates
Corporate World quotes by Bill Gates
I want my world to start and end with you. ~ E.L. James
Corporate World quotes by E.L. James
Sam stood in the middle of the store. With a spear of brilliant light in hand and wearing a suit of chain mail with a helmet over her green hijab, she looked drop-dead dangerous. If our religion didn't forbid it, I would have kissed her.
"Let him go." Sam's voice radiated Valkyrie power. "Amir belongs to me."
My heart swelled with pride. I felt like we could take on the whole world together, and -
"Not anymore," Stan snarled. "As long as he wears the nábrók, he is bound to me."
Oh. ~ Rick Riordan
Corporate World quotes by Rick Riordan
My father always told me that the real heroes in this world are the ones who do what's right when no one is looking, and when only Etra sees. ~ Sarah Addison-Fox
Corporate World quotes by Sarah Addison-Fox
Death is an inevitable cycle. But sickness before death is a symptom of resistance. Most people think they've got to get sick to die. But, you could be like the cat who chooses to get run over. Or, you could just lie down in your bed happily one night, so content and thoughtless, wanting nothing in this physical world; and just reemerge into Pure Positive Energy ... You can play it out any way you choose. ~ Esther Hicks
Corporate World quotes by Esther Hicks
The world values power, comfort, success, and recognition. Jesus frees us to value grief, sacrifice, weakness, and exclusion. ~ Timothy Keller
