Constructive criticism is about finding something good and positive to soften the blow to the real critique of what really went on. ~ Paula Abdul
Constructive Criticism quotes by Paula Abdul
There is no such thing as constructive criticism. There is constructive advice, constructive guidance, constructive counsel, encouragement, suggestion, and instruction. Criticism, however, is not constructive but a destructive means of faultfinding that cripples all parties involved. Don't be fooled into thinking otherwise. ~ Richelle E. Goodrich
Constructive Criticism quotes by Richelle E. Goodrich
Is constructive criticism really constructive? Not really. You can't make a child better by pointing out what you think is wrong with him or her. Criticism either crushes spirit or elicits defensiveness. Constructive criticism is an interesting combination of words. "Construct" means "to build." "Criticism" means "to tear down" It creates defiance and anger as well. ~ H. Norman Wright
Constructive Criticism quotes by H. Norman Wright
Constructive criticism and self-criticism are extremely important for any revolutionary organization. Without them, people tend to drown in their mistakes, not learn from them. ~ Assata Shakur
Constructive Criticism quotes by Assata Shakur
In order to excel, you must be completely dedicated to your chosen sport. You must also be prepared to work hard and be willing to accept constructive criticism. Without one-hundred percent dedication, you won't be able to do this. ~ Willie Mays
Constructive Criticism quotes by Willie Mays
When people give one star ratings, they seem to be trying to make a point. In my opinion, one star ratings don't make a constructive point. They are just unfair put downs to creativity. ~ Deborah Johnson
Constructive Criticism quotes by Deborah Johnson
I have learned to watch myself and give myself constructive criticism. Although I have to cover my face and peek sometimes! ~ Dascha Polanco
Constructive Criticism quotes by Dascha Polanco
I don't judge people. I don't even judge people on 'The Voice.' I'm a coach. I'm there for constructive criticism and to aid and abet and discover new talent. ~ CeeLo Green
Constructive Criticism quotes by CeeLo Green
The emphasis and the reason for a pure humility is to result in love for others; not always necessarily the belittlement of self. When there is pride and self-righteousness and being pretentiously too far above, generally, one has a difficult time reaching the compassionate side of love for others, the side that understands (or at least attempts to understand): 'I am aware that I am not so far from falling in the same way.' Humility seeks to understand, and sometimes even relate; and in result, the love lovingly, properly, effectively wills the removal of the destructive sins of another as from oneself. ~ Criss Jami
Constructive Criticism quotes by Criss Jami
You take the constructive criticism, because without the fans you would have no show. ~ Reagan Gomez-Preston
Constructive Criticism quotes by Reagan Gomez-Preston
I'd never be where I am if more successful writers hadn't taken an interest in me and done me a good turn - be it chiming in with constructive criticism or giving me sound advice about my career plan. ~ Sara Sheridan
Constructive Criticism quotes by Sara Sheridan
Amber has a black belt in insensitivity, which she often mistakes for constructive criticism. ~ H.B. Gilmour
Constructive Criticism quotes by H.B. Gilmour
One way to make sure you test your intuition is to create and encourage a culture of dissent. By promoting strong people who will stand up to you and say no, you can create an environment in which your intuitions have to run the gauntlet of constructive criticism. For example, there was one veteran employee at the Haifa design center who was challenging me all the time. To be honest, I had extremely ambivalent feelings about this individual. It's no fun to be constantly challenged and criticized. Yet in the end I was glad he was there. He kept me on my toes. ~ Dov Frohman
Constructive Criticism quotes by Dov Frohman
Life will always knock you down. Learn to roll with the punches and get back up. Then go again."

"An author cannot grow without both constructive criticism and encouragement. ~ Catrina Barton
Constructive Criticism quotes by Catrina Barton
My fans are my critics, and I respect their feedback and constructive criticism, but they should not try to own me. Don't they experiment with their looks, too? If they are my real fans, then they will accept me how I am. ~ Sonu Nigam
Constructive Criticism quotes by Sonu Nigam
constructive criticism is "good notes." A good note says what is wrong, what is missing, what isn't clear, what makes no sense. ~ Ed Catmull
Constructive Criticism quotes by Ed Catmull
I believe passionately that games are an art form and that the power of our medium flows from our audience, who are deeply involved in how the story unfolds and who have the uncontested right to provide constructive criticism. At the same time, I also believe in and support the artistic choices made by the development team. ~ Ray Muzyka
Constructive Criticism quotes by Ray Muzyka
I take compliments and I take constructive criticism. Not everyone loves you. It's the way you react as a footballer. I use it all to make me play better. ~ Timothy F. Cahill
Constructive Criticism quotes by Timothy F. Cahill
To claim that one can never live a positive life with a negative mind is a very negative claim to make! ~ Criss Jami
Constructive Criticism quotes by Criss Jami
Being a critic is easy.
But if the critic tries to run the operation, he soon understands that nothing is as easy as his criticisms.
Criticism without a solution is merely an inflation of the critic's ego. ~ Haemin Sunim
Constructive Criticism quotes by Haemin Sunim
A true artist willingly removes their heart, allows constructive criticism to stomp it, then puts it back
bruised and aching
to continue improving due to the all-consuming obsessive love for their art. ~ H.G. Mewis
Constructive Criticism quotes by H.G. Mewis
I like constructive criticism from smart people. ~ Prince
Constructive Criticism quotes by Prince
To me, constructive criticism is when people take ownership of their ideas. That's why I don't listen to anything that's anonymous. But it's hard; when there's something hurtful out there, I still want to read it over and over and memorize it and explain my point of view to the person. ~ Brene Brown
Constructive Criticism quotes by Brene Brown
Taking constructive criticism from others is required to get to the next level. ~ Wendy Starland
Constructive Criticism quotes by Wendy Starland
I hope you can take some constructive criticism." "Sure." "It sounds like you are trying to make too many people happy." Court looked to the carpet a moment. "Welcome to my world. ~ Mark Greaney
Constructive Criticism quotes by Mark Greaney
I am not sure whether you could call this abuse, but when I was (long ago) abroad in the world of dry men, I saw parents, usually upscale and educated and talented and functional and white, patient and loving and supportive and concerned and involved in their children's lives, profilgate with compliments and diplomatic with constructive criticism, loquacious in their pronouncements of unconditional love for and approval of their children, conforming to every last jot-tittle in any conceivably definition of a good parent, I saw parent after unimpeachable parent who raised kids who were (a) emotionally retarded or (b) lethally self-indulgent or (c) chronically depressed or (d) borderline psychotic or (e) consumed with narcissistic self-loathing or (f) neurotically driven/addicted or (g) variously psychosomatically Disabled or (h) some conjunctive permutation of (a) … (g).

Why is this. Why do many parents who seem relentlessly bent on producing children who feel they are good persons deserving of love produce children who grow to feel they are hideous persons not deserving of love who just happen to have lucked into having parents so marvelous that the parents love them even though they are hideous?

Is it a sign of abuse if a mother produces a child who believes not that he is innately beautiful and lovable and deserving of magnificent maternal treatment but somehow that he is a hideous unlovable child who has somehow lucked in to having a really magnificen ~ David Foster Wallace
Constructive Criticism quotes by David Foster Wallace
In order to figure this artmaking stuff out, it's trial and error and experimentation, and takes some time and hard thinking. Putting work out in many forms and stages is an extension of how I see things. I feel the art process is best served when it invites comments and constructive criticism from people. ~ Jim Goldberg
Constructive Criticism quotes by Jim Goldberg
I would have assumed you understood, despite our vague suggestions otherwise, we do not welcome constructive criticism. ~ David Thorne
Constructive Criticism quotes by David Thorne
LEADING LESSONS
Criticism can be useful.

I've taken a beating from the DWTS judges on many occasions. Most of the time, because I'm always aware of the cameras in my face, I just suck it up and take it. Here's the thing: I realize that maybe they're seeing something I'm not. Sometimes you're too close to a situation, too connected to it, to be 100 percent honest with yourself. Or your ego gets in the way and won't let you improve, because that would mean changing course and admitting you were wrong. I tell my partners to listen carefully when Len, Carrie Ann, or Bruno has a constructive criticism for us. Yes, sometimes it boils down to taste and opinion (and I don't always agree), but often it's a valid point. They want us to succeed. The way I see it, you have lots of choices on how to handle it: the first is to lose your temper, get defensive, and spend the rest of the night beating yourself up about it. The second--a natural reaction for most people--is to mentally shut down when someone points out your flaws. Who wants to hear that? Let me just drown it out and ignore it. The third option is your best: keep your mind and your ears open. You can learn about your weaknesses and how you can improve them. A leader is never scared of criticism, but instead knows there is always room to grow and improve. So bring it on. ~ Derek Hough
Constructive Criticism quotes by Derek Hough
With no positivity, there is no hope; with no negativity, there is no improvement. ~ Criss Jami
Constructive Criticism quotes by Criss Jami
I suspect that most authors don't really want criticism, not even constructive criticism. They want straight-out, unabashed, unashamed, fulsome, informed, naked praise, arriving by the shipload every fifteen minutes or so. ~ Neil Gaiman
Constructive Criticism quotes by Neil Gaiman
I love constructive criticism. I love getting notes when I'm acting. I love them telling me what to do. I don't always agree with it, but I really need it. ~ Kumail Nanjiani
Constructive Criticism quotes by Kumail Nanjiani
Nobody wants constructive criticism. It's all we can do to put up with constructive praise. ~ Roland De Vaux
Constructive Criticism quotes by Roland De Vaux
Any government that has a sincere desire for reform and progress should understand the benefit of objective and constructive criticism. ~ Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa
Constructive Criticism quotes by Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa
A mood of constructive criticism being upon me, I propose forthwith that the method of choosing legislators now prevailing in the United States be abandoned and that the method used in choosing juries be substituted. That is to say, I propose that the men who make our laws be chosen by chance and against their will, instead of by fraud and against the will of all the rest of us, as now...

...that the names of all the men eligible in each assembly district be put into a hat (or, if no hat can be found that is large enough, into a bathtub), and that a blind moron, preferably of tender years, be delegated to draw out one...

The advantages that this system would offer are so vast and obvious that I hesitate to venture into the banality of rehearsing them. It would in the first place, save the commonwealth the present excessive cost of elections, and make political campaigns unnecessary. It would in the second place, get rid of all the heart-burnings that now flow out of every contest at the polls, and block the reprisals and charges of fraud that now issue from the heart-burnings. It would, in the third place, fill all the State Legislatures with men of a peculiar and unprecedented cast of mind – men actually convinced that public service is a public burden, and not merely a private snap. And it would, in the fourth and most important place, completely dispose of the present degrading knee-bending and trading in votes, for nine-tenths of the legislators, hav ~ H.L. Mencken
Constructive Criticism quotes by H.L. Mencken
Last week my boss told me to rewrite a twenty-page proposal on engagement benchmarking. I turned it in and he wrote a note on the cover that just said, "No, no. Not this." I had no idea what he wanted, so I just put it off, and then when he came in this morning and told me he needed the final draft in a half-hour I printed out the exact same one as before, but this time on prettier paper. This afternoon he brought the whole team together to tell everyone I was the perfect example of being able to listen to constructive criticism. ~ Jenny Lawson
Constructive Criticism quotes by Jenny Lawson
Even the greatest idea can become meaningless in the rush to judgement. To gauge an idea as feasible we must cut our ties to the status quo and find the balance between constructive criticism and judgment. Within that balance we will uncover crucial input for making our ideas a reality. ~ Shigeo Shingo
Constructive Criticism quotes by Shigeo Shingo
Patriotism threatens free speech with death. It is infuriated by thoughtful hesitation, constructive criticism of our leaders and pleas for peace. It despises people of foreign birth. It has specifically blamed homosexuals, feminists and the American Civil Liberties Union. In other words, the American flag stands for intimidation, censorship, violence, bigotry, sexism, homophobia and shoving the Constitution through a paper shredder. Whom are we calling terrorists here? ~ Barbara Kingsolver
Constructive Criticism quotes by Barbara Kingsolver
Only a man of knowledge is capable of giving constructive criticism. ~ Eraldo Banovac
Constructive Criticism quotes by Eraldo Banovac
Wise people prefer to benefit from constructive criticism rather than be ruined by false praise ~ Shiv Khera
Constructive Criticism quotes by Shiv Khera
Public service must be more than doing a job efficiently and honestly. It must be a complete dedication to the people and to the nation. ~ Margaret Chase Smith
Constructive Criticism quotes by Margaret Chase Smith
I'm very open to constructive criticism. ~ Bret Harrison
Constructive Criticism quotes by Bret Harrison
This helps explain why for many women, speaking honestly in a professional environment carries an additional set of fears: Fear of not being considered a team player. Fear of seeming negative or nagging. Fear that constructive criticism will come across as just plain old criticism. Fear that by speaking up, we will call attention to ourselves, which might open us up to attack (a fear brought to us by that same voice in the back of our heads that urges us not to sit at the table). ~ Sheryl Sandberg
Constructive Criticism quotes by Sheryl Sandberg
we adopt an inclusive identity, we are more likely to see how other groups can help us and are more willing to receive constructive criticism from them. ~ Christena Cleveland
Constructive Criticism quotes by Christena Cleveland
Working at Pixar you learn the really honest, hard way of making a great movie, which is to surround yourself with people who are much smarter than you, much more talented than you, and incite constructive criticism; you'll get a much better movie out of it. ~ Andrew Stanton
Constructive Criticism quotes by Andrew Stanton
Criticism is an indirect form of self-boasting. ~ Emmet Fox
Constructive Criticism quotes by Emmet Fox
To ensure that we are leading with our feet firmly planted on the soil of what is, we must live by the seven commandments of current reality:
Thou shalt not pretend.
Though shalt not turn a blind eye.
Thou shalt not exaggerate.
Thou shalt not shoot the bearer of bad news.
Thou shalt not hide behind the numbers.
Thou shalt not ignore constructive criticism.
Thou shalt not isolate thyself.
Attempting to lead while turning a blind eye to reality is like treading water: It can only go on for so long, eventually you will sink. As a next generation leader, be willing to face the truth regardless of how painful it might be. And if you don't like what you see, change it. ~ Andy Stanley
Constructive Criticism quotes by Andy Stanley
The truth is that the more responsible the media outlet, the more responsive they are to constructive criticism. ~ David Brock
Constructive Criticism quotes by David Brock
As noble (and often ignoble) creatures of the universe, the people of the world must acknowledge the nakedness of long held beliefs and be open to constructive criticism. Even if the criticism comes from within or without the structures held sacrosanct. ~ Leviak B. Kelly
Constructive Criticism quotes by Leviak B. Kelly
Boredom, after all, is a form of criticism. ~ Wendell Phillips
Constructive Criticism quotes by Wendell Phillips
A bitter critic is the sweetest corrector. ~ Michael Bassey Johnson
Constructive Criticism quotes by Michael Bassey Johnson
You have to lift a person up before you can really put them in their place. ~ Criss Jami
Constructive Criticism quotes by Criss Jami
It's hard to be all that you can be on carrot sticks and criticism. ~ Deb Caletti
Constructive Criticism quotes by Deb Caletti
Good criticism is very rare and always precious. ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
Constructive Criticism quotes by Ralph Waldo Emerson
The great majority of interpretations of Apocalypse assume that the End is pretty near. Consequently the historical allegory is always having to be revised; time discredits it. And this is important. Apocalypse can be disconfirmed without being discredited. This is part of its extraordinary resilience. It can also absorb changing interests, rival apocalypses, such as the Sibylline writings. It is patient of change and of historiographical sophistications. It allows itself to be diffused, blended with other varieties of fiction--tragedy, for example, myths of Empire and of Decadence--and yet it can survive in very naïve forms. Probably the most sophisticated of us is capable at times of naïve reactions to the End. ~ Frank Kermode
Constructive Criticism quotes by Frank Kermode
Hardy classified A Pair of Blue Eyes among 'Romances and Fantasies'. A favourite of Tennyson, its melancholy treatment of youth, love and death is expressive of late nineteenth-century susceptibilities. Not unnaturally in an early novel, Hardy draws freely on his own life. ~ Geoffrey Harvey
Constructive Criticism quotes by Geoffrey Harvey
There is some relationship between the hunger for truth and the search for the right words. This struggle may be ultimately indefinable and even undecidable, but one damn well knows it when one sees it. ~ Christopher Hitchens
Constructive Criticism quotes by Christopher Hitchens
Hem,' he said, and I knew he was a critic now, since, in conversation, they put your name at the beginning of a sentence rather than at the end. ~ Ernest Hemingway,
Constructive Criticism quotes by Ernest Hemingway,
But there is in everything a reasonable division of labour. I have written the book, and nothing on earth would induce me to read it. ~ G.K. Chesterton
Constructive Criticism quotes by G.K. Chesterton
I think it's become such a part of younger people's daily life to have the instant access to each other that it sometimes gets a little presumptuous. People feel like it's OK, for example, to email you with some weird personal criticism they have. ~ Ted Leo
Constructive Criticism quotes by Ted Leo
As a senator from the only true swing district in the Texas Senate, I've been targeted by the GOP for my outspoken criticism of their extremist attacks on public education and voting rights, to name just two examples. ~ Wendy Davis
Constructive Criticism quotes by Wendy Davis
He found his voice in the silences, where he could sing as loud and as long as he wanted with no one to complain of it. ~ Geraldine Brooks
Constructive Criticism quotes by Geraldine Brooks
I am ... for freedom of the press, and against all violations of the Constitution to silence by force and not by reason the complaints or criticisms, just or unjust, of our citizens against the conduct of their agents. ~ Thomas Jefferson
Constructive Criticism quotes by Thomas Jefferson
On Critique – Those who can, do. Those who can't, teach. Those who can't do or teach, criticize. ~ Marsha Hinds
Constructive Criticism quotes by Marsha Hinds
If you want to get positive results you have to refuse to think negative thoughts by substituting them with constructive ones. When you develop a positive attitude toward life, your life will start having a positive result. ~ Roy Bennett
Constructive Criticism quotes by Roy Bennett
The subconscious mind will translate into its physical equivalent a thought impulse of a negative or destructive nature, just as readily as it will act upon thought impulses of a positive or constructive nature. This accounts for the strange phenomenon which so many millions of people experience, referred to as "misfortune" or "bad luck." ~ Napoleon Hill
Constructive Criticism quotes by Napoleon Hill
Self-kindness: Being warm and understanding toward ourselves when we suffer, fail, or feel inadequate, rather than ignoring our pain or flagellating ourselves with self-criticism. Common humanity: Common humanity recognizes that suffering and feelings of personal inadequacy are part of the shared human experience - something we all go through rather than something that happens to "me" alone. Mindfulness: Taking a balanced approach to negative emotions so that feelings are neither suppressed nor exaggerated. We cannot ignore our pain and feel compassion for it at the same time. Mindfulness requires that we not "over-identify" with thoughts and feelings, so that we are caught up and swept away by negativity. ~ Brene Brown
Constructive Criticism quotes by Brene Brown
Smoking is just a habit. 'Tolstoy', she said, mentioning someone I hadn't met, 'says that just as much pleasure can be got from twirling the fingers'. My impulse was to tell her Tolstoy was off his onion, but I choked down the heated words. For all I know, the man might be a bosom pal of hers and she might resent criticism of him, however justified. ~ P.G. Wodehouse
Constructive Criticism quotes by P.G. Wodehouse
Jazz is really about the human experience. It's about the ability of human beings to take the worst of circumstances and struggles and turn it into something creative and constructive. That's something that's built into the fiber of every human being. And I think that's why people can respond to it. They feel the freedom in it. And the attributes of jazz are also admirable. It's about dialogue. It's about sharing. And teamwork. It's in the moment, and it's nonjudgmental. ~ Herbie Hancock
Constructive Criticism quotes by Herbie Hancock
The simplest kind of guidance (critique) comes every day, and many times a day in the form of discomfort. ~ Barbara Brennan
Constructive Criticism quotes by Barbara Brennan
Let every man make known what kind of government would command his respect, and that will be one step toward obtaining it. ~ Henry David Thoreau
Constructive Criticism quotes by Henry David Thoreau
Donna learned quickly that there's no point in beating yourself up when you screw up or fail to follow through. Guilt trips and self-criticism don't motivate you to make meaningful changes; they just keep you stuck, dwelling on the past. So after each relapse, Donna came back to the basic ACT formula: A = Accept your thoughts and feelings and be present. C = Connect with your values. T = Take effective action. ~ Russ Harris
Constructive Criticism quotes by Russ Harris
After I started getting criticism for doing 'Big Brother,' someone told me that Hugh Downs used to host 'Concentration' and Mike Wallace used to do 'The Big Surprise.' I thought, Huh, maybe that door isn't sealed shut if I want to do '60 Minutes' one day. ~ Julie Chen
Constructive Criticism quotes by Julie Chen
I was the first critic ever to win a Tony - for co-authoring 'Elaine Stritch at Liberty.' Criticism is a life without risk; the critic is risking his opinion, the maker is risking his life. It's a humbling thought but important for the critic to keep it in mind - a thought he can only know if he's made something himself. ~ John Lahr
Constructive Criticism quotes by John Lahr
science cannot be regarded as an entirely detached, disinterested enterprise. To undertake scientific inquiry itself reflects a certain kind of commitment and a certain judgment about what is worth doing. Deciding what kind of scientific inquiry to conduct and how to carry it out requires further evaluative deliberation. Whatever further roles contextual values might play, the securing of evidence and the susceptibility of conclusions to error-probing and transformative criticism demand that those roles be laid bare. For such an undertaking, a partnership of philosophers and scientists may prove fruitful, or even essential. ~ Kent W. Staley
Constructive Criticism quotes by Kent W. Staley
There are naive questions, tedious questions, ill-phrased questions, questions put after inadequate self-criticism. But every question is a cry to understand the world. There is no such thing as a dumb question. ~ Carl Sagan
Constructive Criticism quotes by Carl Sagan
Don't take criticism personally; take from it what's useful. Apply it and move on to something better. ~ Catherine Tate
Constructive Criticism quotes by Catherine Tate
A good book deserves an active reading. The activity of reading does not stop with the work of understanding what a book says. It must be completed by the work of criticism, the work of judging. The undemanding reader fails to satisfy this requirement, probably even more than he fails to analyze and interpret. He not only makes no effort to understand; he also dismisses a book simply by putting it aside and forgetting it. Worse than faintly praising it, he damns it by giving it no critical consideration whatever. ~ Mortimer J. Adler
Constructive Criticism quotes by Mortimer J. Adler
Mr Howard's problem is for so long he's been a climate change sceptic, how can he, therefore, put himself to the country as part of a climate change solution for the future. ~ Kevin Rudd
Constructive Criticism quotes by Kevin Rudd
Criticism alone can sever the root of materialism, fatalism, atheism, free-thinking, fanaticism, and superstition, which can be injurious universally; as well as of idealism and skepticism, which are dangerous chiefly to the Schools, and hardly allow of being handed on to the public. ~ Immanuel Kant
Constructive Criticism quotes by Immanuel Kant
Every author believes, when his first book is published, that those that acclaim it are his personal friends or impersonal peers, while its revilers can only be envious rogues and nonentities. ~ Vladimir Nabokov
Constructive Criticism quotes by Vladimir Nabokov
Mrs. Jones had invited a great and well-known violinist to entertain at her afternoon tea. When it was all over, everyone crowded around the musician. "I've got to be honest with you," one of the guests said, "I think your performance was absolutely terrible." Hearing his criticism, the hostess interposed: "Don't pay any attention to him. He doesn't know what he's talking about. He only repeats what he hears everyone else say." I'm ~ John C. Maxwell
Constructive Criticism quotes by John C. Maxwell
I'm not afraid of criticism or what somebody may think. ~ Don Mattingly
Constructive Criticism quotes by Don Mattingly
The weapon of criticism obviously cannot replace the criticism of
weapons. Material force must be overthrown by material force. But
theory also becomes a material force once it has gripped the masses. ~ Karl Marx
Constructive Criticism quotes by Karl Marx
I must also be criticised. I am not afraid if the criticism concerns what I do wrong, because then I know. Because if you say the king cannot be criticised, it means that the king is not human. ~ Bhumibol Adulyadej
Constructive Criticism quotes by Bhumibol Adulyadej
The criticism hurts sometimes and I worry about the effect on my family. ~ David Beckham
Constructive Criticism quotes by David Beckham
Do not mind when others started criticizing you for the sake of promoting themselves. The purpose you have is more important than criticism. Be laser-sharp focus on your purpose others would come to know about you. ~ Ebinezar Gnanasekaran
Constructive Criticism quotes by Ebinezar Gnanasekaran
Honesty requires that we each recognize the need to limit procreation, consumption, and waste, but equally we must radically reduce our expectations that machines will do our work for us or that therapists can make us learned or healthy. The only solution to the environmental crisis is the shared insight of people that they would be happier if they could work together and
care for each other. Such an inversion of the current world view requires intellectual courage for it exposes us to the unenlightened yet painful criticism of being not only anti-people and against economic progress, but equally against liberal education and scientific and technological advance. We must face the fact that the imbalance between man and the environment is just one of several mutually reinforcing stresses, each distorting the balance of life in a different dimension. In this view, overpopulation is the result of a distortion in the balance of learning, dependence on affluence is the result of a radical monopoly of institutional over personal values, and faulty technology is inexorably consequent upon a transformation of means into ends ~ Ivan Illich
Constructive Criticism quotes by Ivan Illich
Personally, I am a hedonistic reader; I have never read a book merely because it was ancient. I read books for the aesthetic emotions they offer me, and I ignore the commentaries and criticism. ~ Jorge Luis Borges
Constructive Criticism quotes by Jorge Luis Borges
Norman Rockwell saved my life. ~ Jane Allen Petrick
Constructive Criticism quotes by Jane Allen Petrick
Great critics do not explicate a text; they describe it and then report on what they have described, if the description itself is not the criticism. ~ Gore Vidal
Constructive Criticism quotes by Gore Vidal
Envy comes from people's ignorance of, or lack of belief, in their own gifts. ~ Jean Vanier
Constructive Criticism quotes by Jean Vanier
When you are free from self-doubt, you fail better. You accept criticism and listen. ~ Jennifer Lee
Constructive Criticism quotes by Jennifer Lee
