In short Donald Trump lies compulsively in large part because of who and what he is - a coward. This is why Mike Brzezinski said recently, "He brings nothing to the table. ~ Gizmo, The Puzzled Puppy
Compulsive Liars quotes by Gizmo, The Puzzled Puppy
When your lover is a liar, you and he have a lot in common, you're both lying to you! ~ Susan Forward
Compulsive Liars quotes by Susan Forward

Compulsive Liars quotes by Anthony Marais
They are compulsive liars. A tactic they use is to add a nugget of truth to the lies so make them more believable. ~ Tracy Malone
Compulsive Liars quotes by Tracy Malone
A lot of musicians are good cooks, and a lot of cooks are musicians, but I think that may just be a result of the creative impulse finding several means of expression. Probably an equivalent number are visual artists, woodworkers or compulsive liars. ~ Steve Albini
Compulsive Liars quotes by Steve Albini
Love is a verb, not a noun. It is active. Love is not just feelings of passion and romance. It is behavior. If a man lies to you, he is behaving badly and unlovingly toward you. He is disrespecting you and your relationship. The words "I love you" are not enough to make up for that. Don't kid yourself that they are. ~ Susan Forward
Compulsive Liars quotes by Susan Forward
People who don't see their own nature and imagine they can practice thoughtlessness all the time are liars and fools. ~ Bodhidharma
Compulsive Liars quotes by Bodhidharma
Mirrors are both truth-speakers and liars. ~ Jodi Meadows
Compulsive Liars quotes by Jodi Meadows
Don't depend on death to liberate you from your imperfections. You are exactly the same after death as you were before. Nothing changes; you only give up the body. If you are a thief or a liar or a cheater before death, you don't become an angel merely by dying. If such were possible, then let us all go and jump in the ocean now and become angels at once! Whatever you have made of yourself thus far, so will you be hereafter. And when you reincarnate, you will bring that same nature with you. To change, you have to make the effort. This world is the place to do it. ~ Paramahansa Yogananda
Compulsive Liars quotes by Paramahansa Yogananda
Mirror

I am silver and exact. I have no preconceptions.
Whatever I see I swallow immediately
Just as it is, unmisted by love or dislike.
I am not cruel, only truthful-
The eye of the little god, four cornered.
Most of the time I meditate on the opposite wall.
It is pink, with speckles. I have looked at it so long
I think it is a part of my heart. But it flickers.
Faces and darkness separate us over and over.
Now I am a lake. A woman bends over me,
Searching my reaches for what she really is.
Then she turns to those liars, the candles or the moon.
I see her back, and reflect it faithfully.
She rewards me with tears and an agitation of hands.
I am important to her. She comes and goes.
Each morning it is her face that replaces the darkness.
In me she has drowned a young girl, and in me an old woman
Rises toward her day after day, like a terrible fish.

--written 1960 ~ Sylvia Plath
Compulsive Liars quotes by Sylvia Plath
I believe fiction writers are the most honest of liars. They expose their innermost thoughts through deception. ~ Nicholas Adams
Compulsive Liars quotes by Nicholas Adams
I've have a number of violent tics. With Tourette syndrome, there's not just compulsive actions, but compulsive thoughts as well. That used to scare my mother a lot. ~ Dash Mihok
Compulsive Liars quotes by Dash Mihok
In the theatre, we're all charlatans and liars and scavengers and fly-by-nights. ~ Simon McBurney
Compulsive Liars quotes by Simon McBurney
Indeed, compulsive and rigid moralism arises in given persons precisely as the result of a lack of sense of being. Rigid moralism is a compensatory mechanism by which the individual persuades himself to take over the external sanctions because he has no fundamental assurance that his own choices have any sanction of their own ~ Rollo May
Compulsive Liars quotes by Rollo May
The country must be full of liars," she continued. "There must be liars around every corner. Liars hiding behind every bush. Liars just waiting to tell lies about something. Unrepentant liars. Old liars, young liars; perhaps even babies whose first word is a lie. Perhaps ~ Alexander McCall Smith
Compulsive Liars quotes by Alexander McCall Smith
A gun is a liar's weapon ~ Frank Miller
Compulsive Liars quotes by Frank Miller
If I was a serial killer? How I would kill somebody? I'm actually a very compulsive person ... I'd chainsaw people. ~ Brendon Urie
Compulsive Liars quotes by Brendon Urie
I feel a lot of sympathy for the young women I've written about, including Younger Janice. I think that all of them (me in Girlbomb, Samantha in Have You Found Her, and Elizabeth in I, Liar) had some early family trauma that contributed to their dysfunctional methods of dealing with the world, but I wouldn't call them/myself victims - survivors, maybe, but not victims. Nor do I think of them/myself as con artists. ~ Janice Erlbaum
Compulsive Liars quotes by Janice Erlbaum
This is for the record. History is written by the victor. History is filled with liars. If he lives, and we die, his truth becomes written - and ours is lost. Shepherd will be a hero, 'cause all you need to change the world is one good lie and a river of blood. He's about to complete the greatest trick a liar ever played on history. His truth will be the truth. But only if he lives, and we die. ~ Captain John Price
Compulsive Liars quotes by Captain John Price
Cleckley reported that psychopaths never experience grief, honesty, deep joy, or genuine despair. From my own experience, I would add to Cleckley's observations that the psychopath never ruminates on anything.

Rumination is a process that often contributes to depression and in extreme forms to obsessive-compulsive disorder.

The process of rumination is often associated with some anxiety or subjective feeling of concern or worry, and this can help precipitate change in the individual in order to reduce the anxiety.

The psychopath experiences none of this.

Indeed, if you ask a psychopath if he has ever worried about whether he left the house with the stove on (a common problem among those with obsessive-compulsive disorder), he will look at you like you are an alien, in stunned disbelief. ~ Kent A. Kiehl
Compulsive Liars quotes by Kent A. Kiehl
I may appear to suffer from some sort of compulsive repetition syndrome, but these rituals are important to me. I have many places where I sit and think, "I have been here before, I am here now, and I will be here again." Sometimes, lost in reverie, I remember myself approaching across the same green, or down the same footpath, in 1962 or 1983, or many other times. Sometimes Chaz comes along on my rituals, but just as often I go alone. Sometimes Chaz will say she's going shopping, or visiting a friend, or just staying in the room and reading in bed. "Why don't you go and touch your bases?" she'll ask me. I know she sympathizes. These secret visits are a way for me to measure the wheel of the years and my passage through life. Sometimes on this voyage through life we need to sit on the deck and regard the waves. ~ Roger Ebert
Compulsive Liars quotes by Roger Ebert
So what you've actually got is traumatized children. When children are traumatized that affects how they feel about themselves, which is deeply ashamed because a child always believe that it is about himself. So if I am being hurt like this, I got to be a terrible person. Or.. if I was sexually abused, why didn't I fight back, I must be a very weak person. So there's a deep sense of shame.

Then there's tremendous emotional pain that accrues from abuse and neglect. Tremendous emotional pain that is hardly possible for people to bear. Now they have to soothe their pain with substances or other compulsive behaviors.

Then the trauma itself, given that the human brain develops in interaction with the environment, shapes the brain circuitry in such a way that the person will be more likely to find relief from the drugs. So the very phisiology of the brain is affected by early trauma.

So then you take these traumatized people and you make their habit illegal... It is not illegal to drink yourself to death. It is not illegal to make yourself sick with emphyzema or lung cancer by means of cigarettes. But it is illegal to use other substances. So now you take these abused, traumatized people you place them outside the law, you put them in jails and you hound them all their lives, treating them like criminals and bad people and failures and rejects and less-than-human. And then we wonder how come they don't get better.

So.. it is a self-perpet ~ Gabor Mate
Compulsive Liars quotes by Gabor Mate
Neither a fake friend nor a liar can be trusted, with a secret. ~ Ellen J. Barrier
Compulsive Liars quotes by Ellen J. Barrier
For the Christian, every tragedy is ultimately a blessing, or God is a liar. ~ R.C. Sproul
Compulsive Liars quotes by R.C. Sproul
I'd be a liar if I said I had a normal family. ~ Edward Furlong
Compulsive Liars quotes by Edward Furlong
I'm wearing black leggings and a loose top festooned with a Menger sponge of empty pockets stitched out of smaller pockets and smaller still, almost down to the limits of visibility woven in freefall by hordes of tiny otaku spiders, I'm told, their genes programmed by an obsessive-compulsive sartorial topologist. ~ Charles Stross
Compulsive Liars quotes by Charles Stross
One of the great conditions of anger and hatred is, that you must tell and believe lies against the hated object, in order, as we said, to be consistent. ~ William Makepeace Thackeray
Compulsive Liars quotes by William Makepeace Thackeray
He seems to me to be headed for his ideal fate, which is compulsive psychosis dashed with a jigger of psychopathic irresponsibility and violence ~ Jack Kerouac
Compulsive Liars quotes by Jack Kerouac

Compulsive Liars quotes by Erik Naggum
Most liars can fool most people most of the time. ~ Paul Ekman
Compulsive Liars quotes by Paul Ekman
There's more to me, more to the universe, than I suspected. Room for all the dreams I ever had, and all the nightmares ... heroes in the gutters and in the mirror; saints in the frozen wasteland; fools and liars on the throne of wisdom, and hands reaching out in hunger that will never be filled. ~ Joan D. Vinge
Compulsive Liars quotes by Joan D. Vinge
Writing became an obsessive compulsive habit but I had almost no money so I thought about being an urban firefighter and having lots of free time in which to write or becoming an English teacher and thinking about books and writers on a daily basis. That swayed me. ~ David Guterson
Compulsive Liars quotes by David Guterson
Honest men make unconvincing liars,' I lied convincingly. ~ Charles Beaumont
Compulsive Liars quotes by Charles Beaumont
I didn't lie; nobody calls me a liar, I may have increased my age. ~ Frank Buckles
Compulsive Liars quotes by Frank Buckles
Adults could be barefaced liars too, of course, and about no subject so much as their own bodies. In Lib's experience, those who wouldn't cheat a shopkeeper by a farthing would lie about how much brandy they drank or whose room they'd entered and what they'd done there. Girls bursting out of their stays denied their condition till the pangs gripped them. Husbands swore blind that their wives' smashed faces were none of their doing. Everybody was a repository of secrets. ~ Emma Donoghue
Compulsive Liars quotes by Emma Donoghue
Thank you, horseradish, for being neither a radish nor a horse. What you are is a liar food. ~ Jimmy Fallon
Compulsive Liars quotes by Jimmy Fallon
As a result, amongst working-class Americans, government is now generally seen as being made up of two sorts of people: "politicians," who are blustering crooks and liars but can at least occasionally be voted out of office, and "bureaucrats," who are condescending elitists almost impossible to uproot. ~ David Graeber
Compulsive Liars quotes by David Graeber
I don't debate with liars. ~ Evo Morales
Compulsive Liars quotes by Evo Morales
People who boast of happy marriages are, I submit, usually self-deceivers, if not actually liars. ~ Iris Murdoch
