Coaches quotes by Torii Hunter
It's the old story. You might be able to fool your coaches, or your teammates, or your opponents. But, you can never fool yourself in anything. I believe that the more critical you are of your own performance- the higher standards you have-the better you become at what you do. ~ Don Maynard
Coaches quotes by Don Maynard
Technology Coaches demonstrate professional knowledge, skills, and dispositions in content, pedagogical, and technological areas as well as adult learning and leadership and are continuously deepening their knowledge and expertise. ~ Jo Williamson
Coaches quotes by Jo Williamson
There is an open circle."
This mantra is what my high school coaches would say to me during wrestling practice when they knew that I was physically exhausted and was about to rest for a moment. There was an open circle on the wrestling mat, and if I was interested I could get out there and do more.
"There is an open circle."
Meaning there is still more that you could do. Don't rest now; this is where the difference is made. To work when you are mentally and physically exhausted gets you to the next level.
"There is an open circle. ~ JohnA Passaro
Coaches quotes by JohnA Passaro
As I look back now on my coaching career, I think of my family, I think of the days that we spent together. I say this to coaches everywhere: If you ever have a chance to take your kids with you, take them. Don't miss that opportunity. Because when it's all over and done with, when you look back, those are going to be your fondest memories. ~ John Madden
Coaches quotes by John Madden
Love and a cottage! Eh, Fanny! Ah, give me indifference and a coach and six! ~ George Colman The Elder
Coaches quotes by George Colman The Elder
People declare themselves experts, entrepreneurs, inventors, innovators, mavericks, and coaches without any real-life experience. And they do this not because they actually think they are greater than everybody else; they do it because they feel that they need to be great to be accepted in a world that broadcasts only the extraordinary. Our ~ Mark Manson
Coaches quotes by Mark Manson
A lot of guys go through their whole careers and don't win a championship, but are still great coaches. ~ Chuck Daly
Coaches quotes by Chuck Daly
The first great chess players, including the world champion, got by perfectly well without constant coaches. ~ Anatoly Karpov
Coaches quotes by Anatoly Karpov
A Coach must never forget that he is a leader and not merely a person with authority. ~ John Wooden
Coaches quotes by John Wooden
Most of us are not pure self-starters; most people need role models, they need coaches, they need exemplars, they maybe need some discipline or some rewards. We need to be motivated. ~ Tyler Cowen
Coaches quotes by Tyler Cowen
The corncob was the central object of my life. My father was a horse handler, first trotting and pacing horses, then coach horses, then work horses, finally saddle horses. I grew up around, on, and under horses, fed them, shoveled their manure, emptied the mangers of corncobs. ~ Paul Engle
Coaches quotes by Paul Engle
Faith is the most important thing in the world to me. It's the greatest strength I've had. It's helped me get through the hard times. You're not going to win every one of your football games. I've always said I'm not going to make football my god. A lot of coaches put so much into coaching football games that they have nothing left. ~ Bobby Bowden
Coaches quotes by Bobby Bowden
The thing that concerns me the most is when I hear that people are making a lot of money a lot of ways except for the athletes, whether it's on the bowl games, the TV contracts, the conferences, the schools, the coaches, however you want to say it. ~ Nick Saban
Coaches quotes by Nick Saban
In my school, people liked the gym teachers because they were the football or soccer coaches. But look, if they're cool, they get respect. ~ Danny McBride
Coaches quotes by Danny McBride
The problem is not the problem. The problem is how you think about the problem. ~ Ehab Atalla
Coaches quotes by Ehab Atalla
I'm a lot better coach when I have really good players ~ Chuck Daly
Coaches quotes by Chuck Daly
When the coach told me I was playing, I said: 'We're going to Brazil.' It doesn't matter how. If I'd had to score with my hand, the ball would have been in the back of the net. ~ Mamadou Sakho
Coaches quotes by Mamadou Sakho
I owe all of this to the guys I've played with and all the coaches that have helped me get to where I'm at right now. I'm honored to be here. ~ Allen Iverson
Coaches quotes by Allen Iverson
Now-what's our game plan?"
Coach Hedge belched. He'd already had three espressos and a plate of doughnuts, along with two napkins and another flower from the vase on the table. He would've eaten the silverware, except Piper had slapped his hand.
"Climb the mountain," Hedge said. "Kill everything except Piper's dad. Leave."
"Thank you General Eisenhower," Jason grumbles. ~ Rick Riordan
Coaches quotes by Rick Riordan
Tom said to himself that it was not such a hollow world, after all. He had discovered a great law of human action, without knowing it
namely, that in order to make a man or a boy covet a thing, it is only necessary to make the thing difficult to attain. If he had been a great and wise philosopher, like the writer of this book, he would now have comprehended that Work consists of whatever a body is obliged to do, and that Play consists of whatever a body is not obliged to do. And this would help him to understand why constructing artificial flowers or performing on a tread-mill is work, while rolling ten-pins or climbing Mont Blanc is only amusement. There are wealthy gentlemen in England who drive four-horse passenger-coaches twenty or thirty miles on a daily line, in the summer, because the privilege costs them considerable money; but if they were offered wages for the service, that would turn it into work and then they would resign. ~ Mark Twain
Coaches quotes by Mark Twain
When I work a game as an analyst, all I do is look at the game like a coach. ~ Lou Holtz
Coaches quotes by Lou Holtz
That's something that I just can't underestimate the importance of, the staff continuity. I really think that the players feed off the coaches. ~ Pete Lembo
Coaches quotes by Pete Lembo
My school was 17 years as a player and another 16 watching more games probably than any coach has - all over the world, all systems. I couldn't go to school and write it down for people who are far less experienced, telling me what to do and how to do it. ~ Andy Gray
Coaches quotes by Andy Gray
If I was renowned as as tough coach, I also wanted to be a caring one ~ Pat Summitt
Coaches quotes by Pat Summitt
Tom Brady says he wants to give the truck he was given as the Super Bowl MVP to the guy who won the Super Bowl for the Patriots. So Brady's giving his truck toSeahawks coach Pete Carroll. ~ Conan O'Brien
Coaches quotes by Conan O'Brien
You've got to be around people who encourage you, advice you and want to see you go even higher and higher than they themselves have attained! ~ Israelmore Ayivor
Coaches quotes by Israelmore Ayivor
Nobody gives a crap about hockey down here - nobody. I coach kids' hockey down here and you can start to see the disinterest in the game here with the kids. ~ Bobby Hull
Coaches quotes by Bobby Hull
A lot of coaches have come up to me and liked the way I played. ~ Richard Sherman
Coaches quotes by Richard Sherman
The relationships that I've built and the connections and the network that I have created playing on these multiple teams, playing for these multiple coaches and assistant coaches - I wouldn't give that back for anything, because I believe that's going to prepare me for my next step, whether that's going to be on the floor coaching or in an office doing some type of management work. ~ Drew Gooden
Coaches quotes by Drew Gooden
The trouble with most coaches is that they start with the assumption that everybody is a turd. And that ain't right. ~ Bum Phillips
Coaches quotes by Bum Phillips
Thank God, I have sort of a pan-European accent rather than Russian, which doesn't sound very pleasantly to Americans. For them, we speak with a rather rude pitch, and that might be our actors' problem there. Now I've begun working with language coaches in Los Angeles to get rid of the accent completely. ~ Yuliya Snigir
Coaches quotes by Yuliya Snigir
Some coaches spend their time trying to get an overview of all eleven defenders. I prefer to zero in on one guy at a time to get the right clue. ~ Sid Gillman
Coaches quotes by Sid Gillman
The dollar that's being paid the players has hurt the game. The players take advantage of coaches. The players' attitude is, "I make more than you, so don't tell me what to do." ~ Chick Hearn
Coaches quotes by Chick Hearn
Our sports [softball] is a game of failure already so my dad always says to parents who he is a pitching coach and he's been my pitching coach since I was 11 years old is if they can be the best kid on the team, let them experience that and then obviously the challenge has to come later on but you don't get that opportunity very often and confidence is such a huge part of this game and in life in general. ~ Jennie Finch
Coaches quotes by Jennie Finch
I believe it was Sartre who said, "Hell is other people," and I suspect he wrote that after spending an hour with overinvolved parents who won't stop yelling at coaches, instructors, or crying four-year-olds who really just want a snow cone. ~ Jenny Lawson
Coaches quotes by Jenny Lawson
Lady Esmeralda's background was no less interesting than herself; it was a colourful picture of luxury and squalor. Armies of servants thronged the great houses; coaches rumbled up to the doors. Huge meals were eaten at tables laden with silver and lit by candles; there was drinking and gambling and duelling. Highwaymen frequented lonely roads and footpads lurked in the streets. Thieves were hanged and crowds gathered to see the grisly entertainment. The picture of life in those far-off days became so real and clear that I felt as if I had lived in them myself. It was almost as if I remembered them. Sometimes I returned to them in my dreams (which was not always enjoyable) and occasionally I found myself ~ D.E. Stevenson
Coaches quotes by D.E. Stevenson
I truly believe that success is determined not on Friday nights during games but rather in practice away from the lights and glimmer where coaches and players only have each other, their sweat, their discipline and their loyalty to each other. It is at practice where the boys of America become men through hard work, dedication and perseverance. ~ George M. Gilbert
Coaches quotes by George M. Gilbert
Professional managers, coaches, and players have a right to question an umpire's decision if they do it in a professional manner. When they become personal, profane, or violent, they have crossed the line and must be dealt with accordingly. ~ Jim Evans
Coaches quotes by Jim Evans
As I've said, basketball has been, I think, a real cooperative venture. There have been a lot of people that have been involved in it: coaches, administrators - not recently - fans and nobody, nobody any more so than students over the years. ~ Bobby Knight
Coaches quotes by Bobby Knight
Tennis is not like other sports where the coach is hired by an independent entity, and that makes a huge difference in the dynamic. ~ Ivan Lendl
Coaches quotes by Ivan Lendl
But we had a fantastic coach, Simon Clifford, who runs a British football youth game which teaches Brazilian techniques - which is what we wanted to incorporate into the film. And some of those things we eventually got in. ~ Parminder Nagra
Coaches quotes by Parminder Nagra
No one has ever drowned in sweat. ~ Lou Holtz
Coaches quotes by Lou Holtz
It is more likely that coaches have players go down in games they are losing than games they are winning. ~ George M. Gilbert
Coaches quotes by George M. Gilbert
I am not a master-class director. I am not a teacher. I am a coach. I dont have a methodology. Each actor is different. And on the film set, you have to be next to them all. ~ Sam Mendes
Coaches quotes by Sam Mendes
He looks like a woman coach sometimes. I guess he's just trying to get into certain people's heads, but it won't work with me. Like a woman who coaches and cries all the time. He can't get in my head. He's a crybaby. ~ Shaquille O'Neal
Coaches quotes by Shaquille O'Neal
Education is fantastic. In my case I had to split my university course so it took a few more years. I really want to excel at everything I do, so I sat down and spoke with both my swimming coach and my tutor and we worked out a good plan to get the best out of both my swimming and my education. ~ Liam Tancock
Coaches quotes by Liam Tancock
The attitude in terms of how players work both on and off the field has a massive impact on us as coaches but also the performance and how the team does as well. ~ Warren Gatland
Coaches quotes by Warren Gatland
I'm not going to coach again. I've done my coaching, and I think I can put that aside. ~ Phil Jackson
Coaches quotes by Phil Jackson
I love football. I love the aesthetics of football. I love the athleticism of football. I love the movement of the players, the antics of the coaches. I love the dynamism of the fans. I love their passion for their badge and the colour of their team and their country. I love the noise and the buzz and the electricity in the stadium. I love the songs. I love the way the ball moves and then it flows and the way a teams fortune rises and falls through a game and through a season. But what I love about football is that it brings people together across religious divides, geographic divides, political divides. I love the fact that for ninety minutes in a rectangular piece of grass, people can forget hopefully, whatever might be going on in their life, and rejoice in this communal celebration of humanity. The biggest diverse, invasive or pervasive culture that human kinds knows is football and I love the fact that at the altar of football human kind can come worship and celebrate. ~ Andy Harper
Coaches quotes by Andy Harper
One of the great myths in America is that sports build character. They can and they should. Indeed, sports may be the perfect venue in which to build character. But sports don't build character unless a coach possesses character and intentionally teaches it. Sports can team with ethics and character and spirituality; virtuous coaching can integrate the body with the heart, the mind, and the soul. ~ Joe Ehrmann
Coaches quotes by Joe Ehrmann
Maybe one of the qualities of being a great coach is being [a jerk]. There are quite a few of them around. ~ Larry Robinson
Coaches quotes by Larry Robinson
I think training of better Youth Coaches is essential. ~ Arsene Wenger
Coaches quotes by Arsene Wenger
For me, it is just the total experience - from the time I first started as an assistant coach until I wound up at the University of Texas for 20 years. ~ Darrell Royal
Coaches quotes by Darrell Royal
Michael Horton gets at the heart of this: "The heart of most religions is good advice, good techniques, good programs, good ideas, and good support systems. . . . But the heart of Christianity is Good News. It comes not as a task for us to fulfill, a mission for us to accomplish, a game plan for us to follow with the help of life coaches, but as a report that someone else has already fulfilled, accomplished, followed, and achieved everything for us. Good advice may help us in daily direction; the Good News concerning Jesus Christ saves us from sin's guilt and tyranny over our lives and the fear of death. It's Good News because it does not depend on us. It is about God and his faithfulness to his own purposes and promises. ~ Matt Perman
Coaches quotes by Matt Perman
So at my old school," he said. "There was this kid on the baseball team. People thought, I don't know. They saw that he went to some website or something." ... "They made it impossible for him to play. Every day, the found another way to mess with him. Then one Friday after school, they locked him in the storage closet." He winced, as if remembering and I knew. I knew then. "All night long and the whole next day. A tiny, dark, disgusting airless space. His parents thought he was at the away game and someone told the coaches he was sick, so no one even looked for him. No one knew he was trapped in there." His chest was heaving and I was remembering how he told me he didn't used to have claustrophobia and now he did. "He was really good too, probably the best player on the team or could have been. And he didn't even do anything. The guy just went to these sites and someone saw. Do you get it? Do you get what it would mean for me? The assistant captain? I want to be captain next year so maybe I can graduate early. No scholarship. No nothing. These guys aren't" - he made finger quotes - "evolved. They're not from Northern California. They don't do all-day sits or draw pictures." The dagger went straight in. "It's brutal in a locker room. ~ Jandy Nelson
Coaches quotes by Jandy Nelson
I was supposed to take the ball out. I told coach there's no way I'm taking the ball out, unless I can shoot it over the backboard and it goes in. I told him, 'Have somebody else take the ball out, give me the ball, and everybody get out of the way.' ~ LeBron James
Coaches quotes by LeBron James
I'd rather be a football coach. That way you only lose eleven games a year. ~ Abe Lemons
Coaches quotes by Abe Lemons
Coaches are very important to players. They're people that are mentors, people that are advising them, people that should be their friends and somebody you can rely on on the tour. ~ Novak Djokovic
Coaches quotes by Novak Djokovic
Everyone gets surprised because neither one of my parents play golf. Like I said in my speech, my aunt and uncle really love golf, and we visited them, and she gave me two clubs. Like people think when they don't know who my dad is, they think he's my coach. ~ Lydia Ko
Coaches quotes by Lydia Ko
If they don't let me coach, they might as well take me to the Lexington cemetery. ~ Adolph Rupp
Coaches quotes by Adolph Rupp
The boss drives people; the leader coaches them. The boss depends on authority; the leader on good will. The boss inspires fear; the leader inspires enthusiasm. The boss says I; The leader says WE. The boss fixes the blame for the breakdown; the leader fixes the breakdown. The boss says, GO; the leader says Lets GO! ~ Harry Gordon Selfridge
Coaches quotes by Harry Gordon Selfridge
~Here's to kick-offs, goals, assists, shootouts, livin' on the road, the smell of wet grass, early mornings, breakaways, crossbar shots, countless hours of practice, Nike cleats, , shin pads, big passes, loud chanting, new equipment, sniping shots, corner kicks, coaches, passion in our numbers, living with your team mates, the girls you trust become your second family, pick up, fights, let downs, miracles. Some people say soccer's a matter of life or death, but it isn't, it's much more then that, and most of all – the best game in the world, our passion, our life, our future, our love, our game .. SOCCER.~ ~ Anonymise
Coaches quotes by Anonymise
The Coach does not play in the game, but the Coach helps the players identify areas to improve their game. ~ Lord Byron
Coaches quotes by Lord Byron
Ninety percent of the coaches in the NBA are guards, and there aren't very many big men people coaching, I happen to be one of them and when I coached, everybody on my team, including the guards, had a hook shot, so that it was their bail out shot. ~ Tom Heinsohn
Coaches quotes by Tom Heinsohn
If anybody would make me the greatest king that ever lived, with palaces, and gardens and fine dinners, and wine, and coaches, and beautiful clothes, and hundreds of servants, on condition that I would not read books, I would not be a king. ~ Thomas B. Macaulay
Coaches quotes by Thomas B. Macaulay
Coaches who scrimmage all the time don't know what to practice. ~ Paul Brown
Coaches quotes by Paul Brown
My former coach, Simen Agdestein, used to be the best player in Norway. ~ Magnus Carlsen
Coaches quotes by Magnus Carlsen
Dr. Birdsell, my dramatic coach in school, always said that I was the most melancholy Dane that he had ever directed. ~ Donald Freed
Coaches quotes by Donald Freed
Sports contained the truth, I decided, the unspoken truth (how quickly we damn ourselves when we start to talk, how small and inglorious we always sound), and it seemed hard to believe that I had never understood this before. They rewarded effortlessness and unself-consciousness; they confirmed that yes, there are rankings of skill and value and that everyone knows what they are (seeing those guys who were subbed with two seconds left before the end of a quarter, I'd think how girls' coaches were never that heartless); they showed that the best things in the world to be were young and strong and fast. To play a great game of high school basketball-it was something I myself had never done, but I could tell-made you know what it was to be alive. How much in an adult life can compare to that? Granted, there are margaritas, or there's no homework, but there are also puffy white bagels under neon lights in the conference room, there's waiting for the plumber, making small talk with your boring neighbor. ~ Curtis Sittenfeld
Coaches quotes by Curtis Sittenfeld
If I'm going to coach the players, I want some say on who they're going to be. ~ Red Auerbach
Coaches quotes by Red Auerbach
We should because when coaches get fired, the players have a lot to do with it. ~ Allen Iverson
Coaches quotes by Allen Iverson
I was gratified by the way our players had approached each game throughout the season. They had remained focused on the task at hand, playing hard and smart week after week. We didn't have any turmoil or distractions. We went about our business as usual. To do that in a setting that often was anything but usual is a testament to the character of our players and coaches. Our process worked; we simply picked a bad year to only be very good. ~ Tony Dungy
Coaches quotes by Tony Dungy
[Dean Martin] is an absolute, unqualified drunk. And if we ever develop an Olympic drinking team, he's gonna be the coach ... Dean Martin has been stoned more often than the United States embassies. ~ Frank Sinatra
Coaches quotes by Frank Sinatra
If Shane Warne were to become England spin bowling coach I think it would be fantastic for myself and all those learning to bowl spin in England. ~ Monty Panesar
Coaches quotes by Monty Panesar
The word coach comes from the old English word coach, which was a vehicle, a carriage that took royalty or very important people from where they were to where they wanted to go. That's really what a coach is. He or she tries to create a vehicle that will help you get where you're going, not where the coach wants you to go. ~ Timothy Gallwey
Coaches quotes by Timothy Gallwey
I think my history as a coach shows I like players who are gifted technically and have courage when it comes to being in possession of a football. That is a key quality for me. ~ Brendan Rodgers
Coaches quotes by Brendan Rodgers
The best coaches I've been around, even older guys, are continually learning new ways to do things and new ways to teach. ~ Brendan Daly
Coaches quotes by Brendan Daly
A piece of football history. A unique coach [Sir Alex Ferguson], among the greatest of all-time. ~ Roberto Mancini
Coaches quotes by Roberto Mancini
I'd like to coach the Liberty. That's my dream. But maybe I'd coach a college team. Either way, I'd like to stay involved in sports and to coach. ~ Sue Wicks
Coaches quotes by Sue Wicks
Guys like Larry Bird
he played so hard, he wants everybody else to play hard. That's not unreasonable. Any coach would want that and demand that. ~ Larry Bird
Coaches quotes by Larry Bird
There's a saying in my business that there are two kinds of coaches - those who have been fired and those who haven't been fired yet. That's kind of like prostate cancer. Every man will have it if he lives long enough. ~ Bobby Bowden
Coaches quotes by Bobby Bowden
Coaching is unlocking a person's potential to maximize their own performance. It is helping them to learn rather than teaching them. ~ Timothy Gallwey
Coaches quotes by Timothy Gallwey
It's not difficult to coach to just get 10 players right on your 18-yard box. ~ Brendan
Coaches quotes by Brendan
My coach told me I had to expect, you know, some long rallies and stuff. So, you know, I was ready for this. ~ Amelie Mauresmo
Coaches quotes by Amelie Mauresmo
I am being taken care of by a higher being than myself or my coaches or my training staff. ~ Rebecca Lobo
Coaches quotes by Rebecca Lobo
I adore the game, but wouldn't be interested in being the England coach in a million years. ~ Leo Beenhakker
Coaches quotes by Leo Beenhakker
I think the most important thing of all for any team is a winning attitude. The coaches must have it. The players must have it. The student body must have it. If you have dedicated players who believe in themselves, you don't need a lot of talent. ~ Bear Bryant
Coaches quotes by Bear Bryant
I'm fortunate now that I coach at Duke University and we've won a lot. I have some kids who haven't failed that much. But when they get to college, they're going to fail some time. That's a thing that I can help them the most with. ~ Mike Krzyzewski
Coaches quotes by Mike Krzyzewski
You can't make people smarter. You can expose them to information, but your responsibility stops there. ~ Mark Rippetoe
Coaches quotes by Mark Rippetoe
Alvin's the coach. We must be the Clippers. And I must be Olowokandi. Nooooo! ~ Shaquille O'Neal
Coaches quotes by Shaquille O'Neal
I suppose I might be a player-coach nowadays. I'm a great teacher, and I enjoy teaching. But I'm glad I got injured and ended up turning to cooking. It was an accident but the happiest one of my life. ~ Gordon Ramsay
Coaches quotes by Gordon Ramsay
I was fortunate to be around a couple of coaches who took me under their wing and taught me how to train, how to work and how to prepare myself for a game. They gave me so much, and I saw the passion they had for the game and for teaching it. What I learned from them led me to want to become a teacher and coach. ~ Kirk Ferentz
Coaches quotes by Kirk Ferentz
As a coach, your high standards of performance, attention to detail and - above all - how hard you work set the stage for how your players perform. ~ Don Shula
Coaches quotes by Don Shula
My numbers and my stats were exactly the same. I was doing what the coaches wanted me to do. And what I had been doing up to that point was enough to get me a very well-paying contract with the Vikings ... In my mind there was only one thing that had changed from the year before and the year I got cut: And that was I started speaking out in support of same-sex rights. ~ Chris Kluwe
Coaches quotes by Chris Kluwe
My coach is, 'Look at Novak. Look at him. They're so ripped.' I'm like, 'Yeah, well, I can't look like that.' ~ Ana Ivanovic

Anyone that coaches their son, you expect more out of your boy. I'm not talking about stats, but I expected him to be the hardest worker out there. ~ Paul Coffey
Coaches quotes by Paul Coffey

Coaches quotes by Flavor Flav
The most complete site of express buses and coaches in Singapore ~ Singapore
Coaches quotes by Singapore
War thoughts again. I think back to the business cards from that health shop earlier on. I think about miniature wars that individuals fight all the time. They fight against cellulite, or negative emotions, or addictions, or stress. I think about how we can now hire all different sorts of mercenaries to help us fight against ourselves…Therapists, manicurists, hairdressers, personal trainers, life coaches. But what's it all for? What do all these little wars achieve? Although it is a part of my life too, and I want to be thin and pretty and not laughed at in the street and not so stressed and mad that I start screaming on the tube, it suddenly seems a little bit ridiculous. All the time we do these things we are trying to enlist ourselves into a bigger war. We are trying to join up, constantly, with the enemy.

Hitler tried to impose his shiny, blonde, neat, sparkling world on us all and we resisted. So how is it that when McDonald's and Disney and The Gap and L'Oreal and all the others try to do the same thing we all just say, 'OK'? Hitler needed marketing, that's all. His propaganda was, of course, brilliant for its time, everyone knows that. What a great idea, to make people feel that they belong to something, that their identity makes them special. If Hilter had bee able to enlist a twenty-first-century marketing department, would he have been able to sell Nazism to everyone? Why not? You can just see a beautiful, thin woman with her long blonde hair moving sof ~ Scarlett Thomas
