Vader might very well be Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker, whom Tarkin had fought beside during the Clone Wars, and for whom he had developed a grudging appreciation. ~ James Luceno
Clone Wars quotes by James Luceno
In Star Wars, there was monetary confusion and competition. Despite being backed by metals, credits were refused by planets during periods of uncertainty, such as the Clone Wars. The credit was later known as the "Imperial Credit" and was used by Luke Skywalker to pay Han Solo for transport to the planet Alderaan. Yet smugglers avoided using state-sanctioned money and opted for precious metals like platinum. Those in the Ferengi Alliance traded gold-pressed latinum, a material that could not ~ Kabir Sehgal
Clone Wars quotes by Kabir Sehgal
We're all going to die sometime, so you might as well die pushing the odds for something that matters. ~ Karen Traviss
Clone Wars quotes by Karen Traviss
You don't mind that the war will go on and on?"
"Palpatine could have prevented it. Now it's up to people like you to end it."
Tarkin nodded. "And so we shall. ~ James Luceno
Clone Wars quotes by James Luceno
'Star Trek' is science fiction. 'Star Wars' is science fantasy. Based on the episodes I worked on, I think with 'Star Wars: Clone Wars,' we're starting to see a merging, though. It does deal, philosophically, with some of the issues of the time, which is always something 'Star Trek' was known for. ~ George Takei
Clone Wars quotes by George Takei
The boy is young, only twelve standard years, not old enough to fight. Not yet. He looks to his father with pleading eyes. Over the din he yells: "But the battle station was destroyed, Dad! The battle is over!" They just watched it only an hour before. The supposed end of the Empire. The start of something better. The confusion in the boy's shining eyes is clear: He doesn't understand what's happening. But Rorak does. He's heard tales of the Clone Wars - tales spoken by his own father. He knows how war goes. It's not many wars, but just one, drawn out again and again, cut up into slices so it seems more manageable. ~ Chuck Wendig
Clone Wars quotes by Chuck Wendig
During my first few months of Facebooking, I discovered that my page had fostered a collective nostalgia for specific cultural icons. These started, unsurprisingly, within the realm of science fiction and fantasy. They commonly included a pointy-eared Vulcan from a certain groundbreaking 1960s television show.

Just as often, though, I found myself sharing images of a diminutive, ancient, green and disarmingly wise Jedi Master who speaks in flip-side down English. Or, if feeling more sinister, I'd post pictures of his black-cloaked, dark-sided, heavy-breathing nemesis. As an aside, I initially received from Star Trek fans considerable "push-back," or at least many raised Spock brows, when I began sharing images of Yoda and Darth Vader. To the purists, this bordered on sacrilege.. But as I like to remind fans, I was the only actor to work within both franchises, having also voiced the part of Lok Durd from the animated show Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

It was the virality of these early posts, shared by thousands of fans without any prodding from me, that got me thinking. Why do we love Spock, Yoda and Darth Vader so much? And what is it about characters like these that causes fans to click "like" and "share" so readily?

One thing was clear: Cultural icons help people define who they are today because they shaped who they were as children. We all "like" Yoda because we all loved The Empire Strikes Back, probably watched it many times, and can reci ~ George Takei
Clone Wars quotes by George Takei
Say something, Jess. Say anything.
And just when I'm about to think of what I should say next, my mouth goes into whacked overdrive like I'm possessed. "The graphic art in Clone Wars is my favorite," I say. "I love how they drew the characters. You know - how everything looks so angular and - "
My words tangle and freeze when my brain finally arrives to shut it down.
Say something but NOT THAT, you psycho!
"Clone Wars. Love it, do I? Yesss." He's actually responded in a Yoda voice!
I blink.
His eyes are kind, sparkling with laughter and still, all too green. Yoda green! ~ Anne Eliot
Clone Wars quotes by Anne Eliot
And the maximum number extracted. You know what your bosses say about attachment, littl'un. Don't get too attached to me. ~ Karen Traviss
Clone Wars quotes by Karen Traviss
Everyone was supposed to love Emperor Palpatine. Everyone said he was the bravest, most intelligent person in the galaxy, that he was the one who had brought order after the chaos of the Clone Wars. ~ Claudia Gray
Clone Wars quotes by Claudia Gray
It's a high honor to be a part of the Star Wars universe and such a long running show. Our talented writers, animators and cast of voice actors have made The Clone Wars truly unique. And of course we wouldn't have hit 100 episodes had it not been for our incredibly dedicated fans who make this possible! ~ Matt Lanter
Clone Wars quotes by Matt Lanter
The milestone of 100 episodes is a reflection of the amazing work and dedication of the entire Clone Wars cast and crew. Being a part of this production has been an honor and privilege that has changed my life forever. ~ Ashley Eckstein
Clone Wars quotes by Ashley Eckstein
As far as Ahsoka Tano was concerned, the only thing worse than being up to her armpits in battle droids was waiting to find out just how long it would be before she was up to her armpits in battle droids. ~ Karen Miller
Clone Wars quotes by Karen Miller
In part, the deep-space mobile battle station was meant to put an end to harassments of any sort, whether driven by greed, political dissent, or revenge for acts committed during the Clone Wars or since. Once everyone in the galaxy grasped the weapon's capabilities, once the fear of Imperial reprisal took hold, discontent would cease to be a problem. ~ James Luceno
Clone Wars quotes by James Luceno
Star Wars - the movie I saw 12 times as a 17-year-old. The movie that began a cultural and creative universe that now spans generations. For me to be a part of this in The Clone Wars is a dream come true. ~ Clancy Brown
Clone Wars quotes by Clancy Brown
Wars are to be undertaken in order that it may be possible to live in peace without molestation. ~ Marcus Tullius Cicero
Clone Wars quotes by Marcus Tullius Cicero
Wars aren't stopped by fighting wars, any more than you can fight fire with fire. You fight fire with water. You fight violence with nonviolence. ~ Colman McCarthy
Clone Wars quotes by Colman McCarthy
Robert A. Heinlein has been an idol to me for more than 20 years. He can do no wrong, no matter how much he loves wars and hates pacifists. ~ Robert Anton Wilson
Clone Wars quotes by Robert Anton Wilson
No novel is a clone of any preceding one, though with a background cast of characters and things that has grown to thousands, there are many familiar aspects. ~ Piers Anthony
Clone Wars quotes by Piers Anthony
Some Western demographers have posited, due to the female shortage created by the one-child policy, that China will be forced to field a vast force - as in tens of millions strong - of wifeless men who'll gladly wage wars around the planet to burn off all those unrequited hormones. ~ Thomas P.M. Barnett
Clone Wars quotes by Thomas P.M. Barnett
If women ran the world we wouldn't have wars, just intense negotiations every 28 days. ~ Robin Williams
Clone Wars quotes by Robin Williams
This is a story of a period between two World Wars - an interim in which insanity cut loose. Liberty took a nose dive, and humanity was kicked around somewhat. ~ Charlie Chaplin
Clone Wars quotes by Charlie Chaplin
To be brutally honest, I am a little bit of a Clint Eastwood nerd. Clint Eastwood who was the man who drew me into movies. When everybody else was watching Star Wars, I was watching Fistful of Dollars. ~ James Purefoy
Clone Wars quotes by James Purefoy
I guess because I'm so young, I m not sure of what lies ahead for me. I'm more into going the route of producing and directing. I just made a little short film. I'm more excited about going the route of doing a Drew Barrymore or ... what's the one from 'Star Wars?' ~ Heather Morris
Clone Wars quotes by Heather Morris
It goes without saying that when survival is threatened, struggles erupt between peoples, and unfortunate wars between nations result. ~ Hideki Tojo
Clone Wars quotes by Hideki Tojo
Some day, when you are old and wrinkled and ugly, when thought has seared your forehead with its lines, and passion branded your lips with its hideous fires, you will feel it, you will feel it terribly. Time is jealous of you, and wars against your lilies and your roses. You will become sallow, and hollow–cheeked, and dull–eyed. You will suffer horribly… Ah! realise your youth while you have it. Don't squander the gold of your days, listening to the tedious, trying to improve the hopeless failure, or giving away your life to the ignorant, the common, and the vulgar. These are the sickly aims, the false ideals, of our age. Live! Live the wonderful life that is in you! Let nothing be lost upon you. Be always searching for new sensations. Be afraid of nothing… A new Hedonism - that is what our century wants. ~ Oscar Wilde
Clone Wars quotes by Oscar Wilde
There is a relentless war between good and evil which has to be fought whether one likes it or not. ~ Radhika Mundra
Clone Wars quotes by Radhika Mundra
Desire lies at the heart of who God made us to be, who we are at our core. Desire is both our greatest frailty and the mark of our highest beauty. Our desire completes us as we become One with our Lover, and it separates us from Him and brings death as it wars against His will. ~ Dan B. Allender
Clone Wars quotes by Dan B. Allender
61 lynchings occurred in 1920 alone. In 1921, 62, some of the victims, soldiers returning from the Great War who after fighting and winning significant victories - just as they had fought in the Revolutionary and Civil wars and the wars again the Indians - thought that America would repay them for the generosity of putting their lives on the line, for aiding in salvaging their hides from the Kaiser who had been tagged "enemy" this time. Instead, a Protestant country ignorant even of Western mysteries executes soldiers after a manner of punishments dealt to witches in the "Middle Ages." Europe and the Catholic Church are horrified but not surprised at this "tough guy" across the waters whose horrendous murders in Salem led Europe to reform its "witch laws. ~ Ishmael Reed
Clone Wars quotes by Ishmael Reed
Not one of our political spokespeople - the same is true of the Arabs since Abdel Nasser's time - ever speaks with self-respect and dignity of what we are, what we want, what we have done, and where we want to go. In the 1956 Suez War, the French colonial war against Algeria, the Israeli wars of occupation and dispossession, and the campaign against Iraq, a war whose stated purpose was to topple a specific regime but whose real goal was the devastation of the most powerful Arab country. And just as the French, British, Israeli, and American campaign against Gamal Abdel Nasser was designed to bring down a force that openly stated as its ambition the unification of the Arabs into a very powerful independent political force. ~ Edward W. Said
Clone Wars quotes by Edward W. Said
Honestly, I'd rather be anywhere else. Even home, where my dad begins almost every conversation with, "You should lose the black clothes and wear something with color." Puh-lease. Like I want to look like every Barbie clone in Hell High, a.k.a. Oklahoma's insignificant Haloway High School. Ironically, Dad doesn't appreciate the bright blue streaks in my originally blond/now-dyed-black hair. Go figure. That's color, right? ~ Gena Showalter
Clone Wars quotes by Gena Showalter
What kind of victory is it when someone is left defeated? What difference does it make to the dead, the orphans, and the homeless, whether the mad destruction is wrought under the name of totalitarianism or the holy name of liberty and democracy. What is a war criminal? Was not war itself a crime against God and humanity, and, therefore, were not all those who sanctioned, engineered and conducted wars, war criminals? The weak can never forgive. Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong. Non-cooperation with evil is a sacred duty. ~ Mahatma Gandhi
Clone Wars quotes by Mahatma Gandhi
All conflicts can be resolved. Wars and conflicts are not inevitable. They are caused by human beings. There are always interests that are furthered by war. Therefore those who have power and influence can also stop them. Peace is a question of will. ~ Martti Ahtisaari
Clone Wars quotes by Martti Ahtisaari
It is one of the many graveyards which are the Great War's chief heritage. The chronicle of its battles provides the dreariest literature in military history; no brave trumpets sound in memory for the drab millions who plodded to death on the featureless plains of Picardy and Poland; no litanies are sung for the leaders who coaxed them to slaughter. ~ John Keegan
Clone Wars quotes by John Keegan
Strip away the community bond and the seduction business interests that united us, and what was left? Six guys chasing after a limited subset of available women. Wars have been fought, world leaders shot, and tragedies wrought by males claiming territorial rights over the opposite sex. Perhaps we'd just been too blind to see that Project Hollywood was doomed from the start by the very pursuit that had brought it together. After ~ Neil Strauss
Clone Wars quotes by Neil Strauss
Armaments do not, generally speaking, cause wars. This notion, the logical crux of all arguments in favor of disarmament, turns the causal relationship upside down. Actually, it is wars, or conflicts threatening war, that cause armaments, not the reverse. ~ James Burnham
Clone Wars quotes by James Burnham
I shrivel up every time someone mentions Star Wars to me. ~ Alec Guinness
Clone Wars quotes by Alec Guinness
I liked 'Star Wars,' but I wasn't an uberfan like many people are. ~ Daisy Ridley
Clone Wars quotes by Daisy Ridley
She(Joan of Arc) put her dreams and her sentiment into her aims, where they ought to be; she put her practicality into her practice. Ine modern Imperial wars, the case is reversed. Our dreams, our aims are always, we insist, quite practical. It is our practice that is dreamy. ~ G.K. Chesterton
Clone Wars quotes by G.K. Chesterton
Monstrous wars that had killed tens of thousands of innocent people weren't enough to inspire enlightened self-interest. Tiny loans, on the other hand, were. Money has no religion. ~ Bob Harris
Clone Wars quotes by Bob Harris
Of all the things to worry about; the Wookie has no pants. ~ Mark Hamill
Clone Wars quotes by Mark Hamill
Perhaps wars weren't won anymore. Maybe they went on forever. Maybe it was another Hundred Years' War. ~ Ernest Hemingway,
Clone Wars quotes by Ernest Hemingway,
Yeah, after making Pablo Honey, we started experimenting with cloning myself in order to double the band's creative energy. However, the experiment was a failure, and the defective Thom Yorke clone escaped. And formed a band called Muse. ~ Thom Yorke
Clone Wars quotes by Thom Yorke
The library is the temple of learning, and learning has liberated more people than all the wars in history ~ Carl T. Rowan
Clone Wars quotes by Carl T. Rowan
Consider the stars. Among them are no passions, no wars. They know neither love nor hatred. Did man but emulate the stars, would not his soul become clear and radiant as they are? But man's spirit draws him like a moth to the ephemera of this world, and in their heat he is consumed entire. ~ Sarah Monette
Clone Wars quotes by Sarah Monette
Out of all the guys she could love, I am two of them. But she chose my clone over me and that hurts. And it feels good. ~ Jarod Kintz
Clone Wars quotes by Jarod Kintz
One of my recent acquisitions. It is called a medicine bag, from one of the native tribes of North America. A fascinating people, highly skilled in the use of plants' power. They too understand nature's essence as divine. So much so that they do not think it is man's place to own the land at all. Imagine that - think of all the wars we would have missed! ~ Maryrose Wood
Clone Wars quotes by Maryrose Wood
I suggest that the real objective of Socialism is not happiness. Happiness hitherto has been a by-product, and for all we know it may always remain so. The real objective of Socialism is human brotherhood. This is widely felt to be the case, though it is not usually said, or not said loudly enough. Men use up their lives in heart-breaking political struggles, or get themselves killed in civil wars, or tortured in the secret prisons of the Gestapo, not in order to establish some central-heated, air-conditioned, strip-lighted Paradise, but because they want a world in which human beings love one another instead of swindling and murdering one another. And they want that world as a first step. Where they go from there is not so certain, and the attempt to foresee it in detail merely confuses the issue. ~ George Orwell
Clone Wars quotes by George Orwell
It was like the face of some ancient archangel, judging justly after heroic wars. There was laughter in the eyes, and in the mouth honour and sorrow. There was the same white hair, the same great, grey-clad shoulders that I had seen from behind. But when I saw him from behind I was certain he was an animal, and when I saw him in front I knew he was a god. ~ G.K. Chesterton
Clone Wars quotes by G.K. Chesterton
With practice, INTJs become skilled at nodding and making responsive noises at appropriate times,
while internally wondering whether dolphins have language or thinking about how Star Wars breaks
the laws of physics. ~ Anna Moss
Clone Wars quotes by Anna Moss
Iraq had forced massive changes to the Army's equipment, training, and strategy. But the most important legacy of the war had been cultural. The war had upended most of the service's basic assumption about how it should fight, undermining the Powell Doctrine with its emphasis on short, intense wars not replacing it with anything nearly so straightforward. Chiarelli wasn't sure he could predict what the next war would look like. But he knew what kind of officers would be needed. He wanted an officer corps that argued, debated, and took intellectual risks. Even that laudable goal was far from accepted within the Army. ~ David Cloud
Clone Wars quotes by David Cloud
There are a growing number of conservatives and Republicans who, while they support the president and support the war in Iraq, wonder how many of these nation-building wars we're going to engage in and what the parameters of that are. ~ Lamar Alexander
Clone Wars quotes by Lamar Alexander
How do you know you are who you are? How do you know you're not simply a clone of who you think you are? ~ Jarod Kintz
Clone Wars quotes by Jarod Kintz
Wars stopped slavery in America and liberated Europe and put an end to Japanese imperialism and killed Hitler and Mussolini and Pol Pot and Che Guevara and Abu Musab al-Zarqawi. That's why we have them. ~ David NMI Stone
Clone Wars quotes by David NMI Stone
My Dearest Breena,

They will remember us. Long after these wars have been mourned and then forgotten long after Summer and Winter fairies lay aside their rancor for one another and forget that they have ever tasted hatred they will remember – Summer fairies and Winter too – of a fairy king who loved his queen. - Prince Kian ~ Kailin Gow
Clone Wars quotes by Kailin Gow
Machiavelli observed that 'wars begin when you will, but do not end when you please'. ~ Max Hastings
