If you don't get caught, you deserve everything you steal. ~ Daniel Nayeri
Christian Faust quotes by Daniel Nayeri
If you're not remarkable, you're invisible. ~ Simon Sinek
Christian Faust quotes by Simon Sinek
I'll never forget walking through airport security when I was flying to give a speech to a Christian men's group in Montana. The Department of Homeland Security screeners obviously didn't recognize me as "Jase the Duckman" from Duck Dynasty, and I felt like I was one wrong answer away from being led to an interrogation room in a pair of handcuffs! ~ Jase Robertson
Christian Faust quotes by Jase Robertson
'Community' is a comedy show, and one of the characters happens to be a Christian. I do think they have been very careful to make sure everyone is the butt of the joke for various reasons. ~ Yvette Nicole Brown
Christian Faust quotes by Yvette Nicole Brown
The Christians and Jews eat defiled pig meat and swill poisonous alcohol. Buddhist and Muslim Sri Lankans blamed the wine-oriented Christmas celebrations of 2004 for the immediately following tsunami. Catholics are dirty and have too many children. Muslims breed like rabbits and wipe their bottoms with the wrong hand. Jews have lice in their beards and seek the blood of Christian children to add flavor and zest to their Passover matzos. And ~ Christopher Hitchens
Christian Faust quotes by Christopher Hitchens
The unconditional love that God gives us when we are in relationship with him frees us and sustains us; we no longer feel the need to prove ourselves according to worldly standards, we are fine just the way we are. ~ Tim Crawshaw
Christian Faust quotes by Tim Crawshaw
The Saviour is the Lord Jesus Christ. ~ Lailah Gifty Akita
Christian Faust quotes by Lailah Gifty Akita
Obedience is necessary not only for monks, but for all people. Even the Lord was obedient. The proud and self-regarding do not allow grace to live in them, and therefore they never have spiritual peace, while in the obedient soul the grace of the Holy Spirit enters easily and gives joy and peace. Whoever bears even a little grace in himself joyfully submits himself to all direction. He knows that God directs even the heavens and the netherworld, and himself, and his business, and everything in the world, and therefore he is always at peace. ~ Silouan The Athonite
Christian Faust quotes by Silouan The Athonite
I desire to go through life knowing as little of evil in it as possible. To this end, I sometimes avoid looking too closely into the nature of things, studying them only so far as they seem to be good, and abandoning interest in them as soon as their darker feature begin to appear. The good only deserves a hearty interest. ~ Christian Nestell Bovee
Christian Faust quotes by Christian Nestell Bovee
I should contribute generously to the war chest of the Woman's Christian Temperance Union. But, I do not contribute at all. ~ Larry MacPhail
Christian Faust quotes by Larry MacPhail
President Hinckley's strong, continuing challenge to us is retention, which requires full cooperation between the missionary, the leaders and members. ~ James E. Faust
Christian Faust quotes by James E. Faust
The Christian narrative states that a maximally powerful, maximally good, all-knowing aseitic being consciously created everything, including man who short-circuited shortly after. This failure resulted in the immediate separation of all earthly things, including man, from the Creator: the Middle Eastern deity named, Yhwh. The objective of life, according to the Christian narrative, is to return to communion with Yhwh. Failure to do so in a finite space of time (a single lifetime of indeterminate duration and unequal resources) will result in Yhwh tossing the individual into an abyss he created for his finest and most beautiful creation, an angel named Lucifer (Ezekiel 28:12,13), who also short-circuited sometime earlier. This is considered by Christians to be the ultimate punishment: an eternal separation from the god, Yhwh.

This narrative is wholesale nonsense.

As a theology (and scaffolding for a tremendously flawed accompanying theodicy), it is an extravagant work of self-annihilating absurdity. As a maximally good, aseitic being, everything was once part of perfection. That's what aseity means. There was no-thing that was not already perfect. To argue otherwise is to concede Yhwh was not, in fact, perfect. Creation, therefore, destroyed this eternal harmony, this purity, and by this fact alone, the act of Creation can only be called maximally evil. Creation separated things from the perfect goodness. Creation expelled goodness and cast it into a sta ~ John Zande
Christian Faust quotes by John Zande
The decision we must make now is whether we will give our allegiance to outmoded and unjust customs or to the ethical demands of the universe. As Christians we owe our allegiance to God and His will, rather than to man and his folkways ~ Martin Luther King, Jr.
Christian Faust quotes by Martin Luther King, Jr.
Don't treat your husband the way he deserves, but as Christ expects. ~ Ngina Otiende
Christian Faust quotes by Ngina Otiende
There is nothing colder than a Christian who does not seek to save others. ~ Saint John Chrysostom
Christian Faust quotes by Saint John Chrysostom
Ask me if Christianity (my version of it, yours, the Pope's, whoever's) is orthodox, meaning true, and here's my honest answer: a little, but not yet. Assuming by Christianity you mean the Christian understanding of the world and God, Christian opinions on soul, text, and culture I'd have to say that we probably have a couple of things right, but a lot of things wrong, and even more spreads before us unseen and unimagined. But at least our eyes are open! To be a Christian in a generously orthodox way is not to claim to have the truth captured, stuffed, and mounted on the wall. ~ Brian D. McLaren
Christian Faust quotes by Brian D. McLaren
The greatest resource a worship leader has is his relationship with his wife. ~ Cliff Barrows
Christian Faust quotes by Cliff Barrows
Where is your Christian god now?" the turbaned assassin shouts. Lucine thinks it is a good question. Not one person answers him. Not Mairig and not the missionary. Perhaps they sense what Lucine already knows, that if God is indeed anywhere, he is not here. ~ Aline Ohanesian
Christian Faust quotes by Aline Ohanesian
The author of the hymn 'Amazing Grace', John Newton, who once was a slave ship captain, and who became a Christian preacher and an enemy of the slave trade, once said: 'I have reason to praise [God] for my trials, for, most probably, I should have been ruined without them.' The author of The Gulag Archipelago , Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn, who suffered for twenty years in the hellish prison camps he describes in that book, wrote: 'Bless you prison, bless you for being in my life. For there, lying upon the rotting prison straw, I came to realize that the object of life is not prosperity as we are made to believe, but the maturity of the human soul.' This does not mean that Newton would have chosen to go through his trials, or that Solzhenitsyn in any way enjoyed the terrible suffering of his imprisonment. But it means that in retrospect they can see that God used those difficulties to bless them in the long run. ~ Eric Metaxas
Christian Faust quotes by Eric Metaxas
The Law was given by Moses; the moral law, to discover the extent and abounding sin; the ceremonial law, to point out, by typical sacrifices and ablutions, the way in which forgiveness was to be sought and obtained. But grace, to relieve us from the condemnation of the one, and truth answerable to the types and shadows of the other, came by Jesus Christ. ~ John Newton
Christian Faust quotes by John Newton
All religions worthy of the name are now making great efforts to purify their doctrines and return to their original standpoint, - all except Christianity! You surely know that the nineteenth century Christianity is not the religion taught by Christ. Christ's religion has been changed and corrupted. But Christian clergymen are well aware that if they were to attempt to purify Christianity and bring it back to the religion of Christ, the result would be to reform it out of existence. Christianity stands to-day completely explained. Every step in its development is laid bare and shown to be due to purely natural causes, and it is easy to see how much Christianity adopted from other and older religions. ~ Virchand Gandhi
Christian Faust quotes by Virchand Gandhi
My focus is not on the flood that surrounds me. Rather, my focus is on the God Who surrounds the flood. ~ Craig D. Lounsbrough
Christian Faust quotes by Craig D. Lounsbrough
There are always exceptions to every generalization.
[A Christian Epilogue] ~ John B. Cobb Jr.
Christian Faust quotes by John B. Cobb Jr.
The task of the church is to make the invisible Kingdom visible through faithful Christian living and witness-bearing . ~ J.I. Packer
Christian Faust quotes by J.I. Packer
That feeling stayed with me for months. In fact, I had grown so accustomed to that floating feeling that I started to panic at the prospect of losing it. So I began to ask friends, theologians, historians, pastors I knew, nuns I liked, *What am I going to do when it's gone?* And they knew exactly what I meant because they had either felt it themselves or read about it in great works of Christian theology. St. Augustine called it "the sweetness." Thomas Aquinas called it something mystical like "the prophetic light." But all said yes, it will go. The feelings will go. The sense of God's presence will go. There will be no lasting proof that God exists. There will be no formula for how to get it back.
But they offered me this small bit of certainty, and I clung to it. When the feelings recede like the tides, they said, they will leave an imprint. I would somehow be marked by the presence of an unbidden God. ~ Kate Bowler
Christian Faust quotes by Kate Bowler
The main reason why serious historical studies of the Rosicrucian manifestos and their influence have hitherto been on the whole lacking is no doubt because the whole subject has been bedevilled by enthusiasts for secret societies. There is a vast literature on Rosicrucianism which assumes the existence of a secret society, founded by Christian Rosencreutz, and having a continuous existence up to modern times. In the vague and inaccurate world of so-called 'occultist' writing this assumption has produced a kind of literature which deservedly sinks below the notice of the serious historian. And when, as if often the case, the misty discussion of 'Rosicrucians' and their history becomes involved with the masonic myths, the enquirer feels that he is sinking helplessly into a bottomless bog. ~ Frances A. Yates
Christian Faust quotes by Frances A. Yates
The Smurf village was destroyed weeks ago and Bush has still not made an appearance. George Bush doesn't care about tiny blue people. ~ Christian Finnegan
Christian Faust quotes by Christian Finnegan
You have to be mentally prepared to handle any challenge. ~ Lailah Gifty Akita
Christian Faust quotes by Lailah Gifty Akita
The only way the corporate Body of Christ will fulfill the mission Christ has given it is for individual Christians to have a vision for fulfilling that mission personally. ~ David Jeremiah
Christian Faust quotes by David Jeremiah
What strikes me most of all in Christian culture, which is supposed to be concerned with the rights of the weakest, is the lack of regard toward animals. Maybe because they're thought to be soulless. ~ Dacia Maraini
Christian Faust quotes by Dacia Maraini
Measured by the standards of men of their time, [the Pilgrims] were the humble of the earth. Measured by later accomplishments, they were the mighty. In appearance weak and persecuted they came
rejected, despised
an insignificant band; in reality strong and independent, a mighty host of whom the world was not worthy destined to free mankind. ~ Calvin Coolidge
Christian Faust quotes by Calvin Coolidge
Most of the debates I've participated in have been on Christian college campuses or on secular campuses; so, largely before a student audience. ~ Dinesh D'Souza
Christian Faust quotes by Dinesh D'Souza
If there were no hereafter, I would still prefer to be a Christian, and the humblest Christian minister, to being a king or an emperor, for I am persuaded there are more delights in Christ, yea, more joy in one glimpse of His face than is to be found in all the praises of this harlot- world, ~ Charles Haddon Spurgeon
Christian Faust quotes by Charles Haddon Spurgeon
If we can keep the Christians thinking of themselves as sinners not sons and daughters, we can make them view their relationship to The Adversary as a negative-sum-game: They fall in a hole, He pulls them out, they fall back in, etc... That way they never get anywhere; they're always either standing next to a hole or down in it. ~ Geoffrey Wood
Christian Faust quotes by Geoffrey Wood
If you are what you've always been, you are not a Christian. A Christian is a new creation. ~ Vance Havner
Christian Faust quotes by Vance Havner
To the individual believer indwelt by the Holy Spirit there is granted the direct impression of the Spirit of God on the spirit of man, imparting the knowledge of His will in matters of the smallest and greatest importance. This has to be sought and waited for. ~ G. Campbell Morgan
Christian Faust quotes by G. Campbell Morgan
Anybody looking at the history even of the 20th century would not single out Islam as the bloodthirsty religion; it was Christian/Nazi/Communist Europe and Buddhist/Taoist/Hindu/atheist Asia that set records for mass slaughter. ~ Nicholas Kristof
Christian Faust quotes by Nicholas Kristof
