When we stop believing the world can become a better place, when we stop caring about the lives and conditions of others, we lose a part of ourselves. ~ Erwin McManus
Caring World quotes by Erwin McManus
You might imagine how a hypnotherapist views history. If not, here is a short analogy: Imagine the developing consciousness of an individual as the group mind, or Zeitgeist, of civilizations - observing, learning, stumbling and developing over thousands of years. Just as the individual goes through phases and fads - the terrible twos, pubescence, the rebellious teens, the urge to merge and to have families, learn a trade, etc., - so do nations and civilizations grow, have fads and phases. The individual acts through notions, precepts and ideals, oftentimes passed on through family and tradition (suggestions, to use a hypnotic term). And so edicts, commands and laws dictate actions in very large groups. One then can look back on history and see that nations were perhaps doing the best they could, but were stymied and hindered by narrow-minded thinking, superstitions, patriarchal and out-moded beliefs, and lack of information, much of it unexamined hand me down ideas and beliefs. Some nations are immature, stubborn and self-righteous. Just as individuals thrive and blossom with love, understanding, education and inspiration, so can nations, societies and civilizations. The key to a fair, just and caring world is positive ideals/ suggestions, and that brings us to the importance of environment, community and education. ~ Stephen Poplin
Caring World quotes by Stephen Poplin
I don't care how little your country is, you got a right to run it like you want to. When the big nations quit meddling then the world will have peace. ~ Will Rogers
Caring World quotes by Will Rogers
Not teaching your kids about money is like not caring whether they eat. If they enter the world without financial knowledge, they will have a much harder go of it. ~ Donald Trump
Caring World quotes by Donald Trump
The power of love and caring can change the world. ~ James Autry
Caring World quotes by James Autry
Many of us dream of a better, safer, more caring world, without recognizing that it all begins with creating and maintaining a deeper love in our own home. The seeds of world peace should be planted in our own backyard. ~ Anthon St. Maarten
Caring World quotes by Anthon St. Maarten
It's about doing something larger than yourself. It's about serving this world, helping others. ~ Walter Isaacson
Caring World quotes by Walter Isaacson
Roland was so used to the pervasive sense of failure that he was unprepared for the blood-rush of success. He breathed differently. The dingy little room humped around in his vision briefly and settled at a different distance, an object of interest, not of choking confinement. He reread his letters. The world opened. [ ... ] How true it was that one needed to be seen by others to be sure of one's own existence. Nothing in what he had written had changed and everything had changed. ~ A.S. Byatt
Caring World quotes by A.S. Byatt
The role of art is to make a world which can be inhabited. ~ William, Saroyan
Caring World quotes by William, Saroyan
The world is populated in the main by people who should not exist ~ George Bernard Shaw
Caring World quotes by George Bernard Shaw
We need to focus our energies there, not these broad, blanket, kind of statements that will make it harder for us to deal with ISIS. We need to deal with ISIS in the caliphate. We need a strategy to destroy ISIS there. You can't do that without the cooperation of the Muslim world because they're as threatened as we are. ~ Jeb Bush
Caring World quotes by Jeb Bush
He knew that for all his admission of Chaos he would be better able to do what he wished in a world ordered by some degree of Law. The ~ Michael Moorcock
Caring World quotes by Michael Moorcock
What happened today was a terrible thing, but I believe with all my heart that the Good Lord is holdin' all of us in His arms. That man don't know who we are or where we live, and he ain't gonna find out. We all need to be careful in this world, but I promise you, for every bad person on this earth there's a hundred good ones. ~ Beth Hoffman
Caring World quotes by Beth Hoffman
Has it taught you to look at things different?' he asked.
i thought, How does he know about all that? But i didn't have to ask him, because he just nodded toward his house.
'I bounce around them four walls a lot, Victor. I write some letters, I keep in touch with people. Putting your thoughts on paper, it makes you stop and notice stuff. Kind of slows you down. ~ Peter Gould
Caring World quotes by Peter Gould
It seems to me like stealing, for men and women to live in the world and do nothing to make it better. ~ Sarah Orne Jewett
Caring World quotes by Sarah Orne Jewett
Seek goodness everywhere, and when it is found, bring it out of its hiding place and let it be free and unashamed. ~ William, Saroyan
Caring World quotes by William, Saroyan
Writing has such a power for expressionEven when you can't talk with no one else in the whole world you can talk to your paper. Your feelings whether good, bad or indifferent. We call it despojo in Spanish, which means to be able to get rid of all this agony, weight inside of you. It brings clarity. ~ Piri Thomas
Caring World quotes by Piri Thomas
What I liked about it is in the world of children, there are very, very different rules and a kind of naivete and innocence and sweetness that's been beautifully captured, I think, by this film as you can even see [gesturing toward the film's poster on display nearby] from this gorgeous artwork. ~ Russell Brand
Caring World quotes by Russell Brand
The most successful people in this world recognize that taking chances to get what they want is much more productive than sitting around being too scared to take a shot. ~ Steve Harvey
Caring World quotes by Steve Harvey
When a man is overcome by anger, he has a poisoned fever. He loses his strength, he loses his power over himself and over others. He throws away time in which he might have gained the end he desires. The is no time for anger in the world. - The Ancient One ~ Frances Hodgson Burnett
Caring World quotes by Frances Hodgson Burnett
We've created the best indoor winter facility in the world. Having set that benchmark, it could inspire a whole new generation throughout the world. ~ Phil Taylor
Caring World quotes by Phil Taylor
Each week the machine is spitting out a number for a new person or a new world within New York that you get to know. And the idea from the beginning was that some of the characters would stick around and become part of the lives of the show, and the world of the show itself will continue to grow. ~ Jonathan Nolan
Caring World quotes by Jonathan Nolan
In her book Alone Together, MIT social psychologist Sherry Turkle convincingly makes the case that younger people are so used to text-based communications, where they have time to gather their thoughts and precisely plan what they are going to say, that they are losing their ability to have spontaneous conversation. She argues that the muscles in our brain that help us with spontaneous conversation are getting less exercise in the text-filled world, so our skills are declining. ~ Aziz Ansari
Caring World quotes by Aziz Ansari
Ripened Fruit

Do you remember how you came into existence?
You may not remember
because you arrived a little drunk.
Let me give you a hint:
Let go off your mind and then be mindful.
Close your ears and listen!

It is difficult to speak to your unripeness.
You may still be in your springtime,
unaware that autumn exists.
This world is a tree to which we cling----
we, the half-ripe fruit upon it.

The immature fruit clings tightly to the branch
because, not yet ripe, it's unfit for the palace.
When fruits become ripe, sweet, and juicy,
then, biting their lips,
they loosen their hold.

When the mouth has been sweetened by felicity,
the kingdom of the world loses it's appeal.
To be tightly attached to the world is immaturity.
As long as you're an embryo,
all you think about is sipping blood.

There's more to be said,
but let the Holy Spirit tell it.
You may even tell it to your own ear.
Neither I, nor some other "I," needs to tell you,
you who are also I.

Just as when you fall asleep,
you leave the presence of yourself
to enter another presence of yourself.
You hear something from yourself
and imagine that someone else
has secretly spoken to you in a dream.
But you are not a single "you,"
my friend----you are the wide sky and the deep sea.
Your awesome "You," which is nine hund ~ Rumi
Caring World quotes by Rumi
As we joined the line of people getting off at the last stop before Sofia, I looked once more at the little boy, whom I felt I would never forget, though maybe it wasn't exactly him I would remember, I thought, but the use I would make of him. I had my notes, I knew I would write a poem about him, and then it would be the poem I remembered, which would be both true and false at once, the image I made replacing the real image. Making poems was a way of loving things, I had always thought, of preserving them, of living moments twice; or more than that, it was a way of living more fully, of bestowing on experience a richer meaning. But that wasn't what it felt like when I looked back at the boy, wanting a last glimpse of him; it felt like a loss. Whatever I could make of him would diminish him, and I wondered whether I wasn't really turning my back on things in making them into poems, whether instead of preserving the world I was taking refuge from it. ~ Garth Greenwell
Caring World quotes by Garth Greenwell
My identity is different because the world responds to my physical appearance differently. And their response inadvertently changes how I see myself. And that's kind of … crazy." "It is," I said. "But we redefine ourselves. We evolve. That's what people do. ~ Robinne Lee
Caring World quotes by Robinne Lee
What is this all about,' asked Sai, but her mouth couldn't address her ear in the tumult; her mind couldn't talk to her heart. 'Shame on myself,' she said ... Who was she ... she with her self-importance, her demand for happiness, yelling it at fate, at the deaf heavens, screaming for her joy to be brought forth..?
How dare ... How dare you not ...
Why shouldn't I have ... How dare ... I deserve ... Her small greedy soul ... Her tantrums and fits ... Her mean tears ... Her crying, enough for all the sadness in the world, was only for herself. Life wasn't single in its purpose ... or even its direction ... The simplicity of what she'd been taught wouldn't hold. Never again could she think there was but one narrative and that this narrative belonged only to herself, that she might create her own tiny happiness and live safely within it. ~ Kiran Desai
Caring World quotes by Kiran Desai
Because this law could mean so much or so little, it held potential for causing great mischief in the world of art and politics. We needed to reduce its uncertainty, and the best way to do that, I believed, was to force a court to interpret it, which would either void or narrow the law. To make it as broad a target as possible and to assure that someone would sue us, I reproduced the Helms amendment verbatim in the terms and conditions for grant recipients. It could not be ignored there, and if it was to be declared unconstitutional, it had to appear where the courts could not ignore it either. ~ John Frohnmayer
Caring World quotes by John Frohnmayer
It doesn't matter who you sleep with, it's how you treat other people in this world. ~ Amber Benson
Caring World quotes by Amber Benson
There was never one who came into the world with such loving compassion and who entered into all the needs of the people as did the Lord Jesus. And he declares to us, 'Verily, verily, I say unto you he that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do, because I go unto my father.' [Jn 14.12] God wants us all to have an audacity of faith that dares to believe for all that is set forth in the word. ~ Smith Wigglesworth
Caring World quotes by Smith Wigglesworth
-We live in Rome, he says, turning his face to the room again,
-Caligula's Rome, with a new circus of vulgar bestialized suffering in the newspapers every morning. The masses, the fetid masses, he says, bringing all his weight to his feet.-How can they even suspect a self who can do more, when they live under absolutely no obligation. There are so few beautiful things in the world ... ~ William Gaddis
Caring World quotes by William Gaddis
She lived and breathed the streets, and would lay her neck on the line to protect its occupants. But how did she tell an idealist that the world was not black and white? ~ Caroline Mitchell
Caring World quotes by Caroline Mitchell
In the '90s there were these great end of the world movies like 'Armageddon' and 'Deep Impact' ... I always liked the idea of what people on the ground are doing, not so much the people who are trying to stop the world from ending. ~ Lorene Scafaria
Caring World quotes by Lorene Scafaria
People have a right to surf the Web without Big Brother watching their every move and announcing it to the world. The Internet marketplace has matured - and it's time for consumers' protections to keep pace. ~ Jackie Speier
Caring World quotes by Jackie Speier
The poet, however, uses these two crude, primitive, archaic forms of thought (simile and metaphor) in the most uninhibited way, because his job is not to describe nature, but to show you a world completely absorbed and possessed by the human mind. ~ Northrop Frye
Caring World quotes by Northrop Frye
I sort of have a dog-minded single strategy but I am a little more open to stuff that's out there, now and looking at scripts in the world and seeing if something that already exists can spark my interest and my curiosity. ~ Todd Haynes
Caring World quotes by Todd Haynes
The Great Commission to go into all the world is not only geographical, but must include every field, profession, discipline, sport, etc. ~ Rick Joyner
Caring World quotes by Rick Joyner
Occupy is really the first sustained response to this. People have referred to the Tea Party as a response, but that is highly misleading. The Tea Party is relatively affluent, white. Its influence and power come from the fact that it has enormous corporate support and heavy finance. Parts of the corporate world simply see them as their shock troops, but it's not a movement in the serious sense that Occupy is. ~ Noam Chomsky
Caring World quotes by Noam Chomsky
I am of this place. Family is a place, and my family s located here, those who are living and those who have passed. I am am settled in the scent of sage, Mount Moran's reflection at Oxbow Bend is more than a mirror of memories; it is the joy found in river otters, a reminder that there are places in the world we can return for peace unchanged. ~ Terry Tempest Williams
Caring World quotes by Terry Tempest Williams
Our beliefs are based on our experience, which gives us a very incomplete picture of the world, and it's easy to jump to false conclusions. ~ Pedro Domingos
Caring World quotes by Pedro Domingos
Wow, a trifecta: Murder, Madness and Magic, the three things you hate most of anything in the world. ~ Chris Dee
Caring World quotes by Chris Dee
[Memory] ... is a system of near-infinite complexity, a system that seems designed for revision as much as for replication, and revision unquestionably occurs. Details from separate experiences weave together, so that the rememberer thinks of them as having happened together. The actual year or season or time of day shifts to a different one. Many details are lost, usually in ways that serve the self in its present situation, not the self of ten or twenty or forty years ago when the remembered event took place. And even the fresh memory, the 'original,' is not reliable in a documentary sense ... Memory, in short, is not a record of the past but an evolving myth of understanding the psyche spins from its engagement with the world. ~ John Daniel
Caring World quotes by John Daniel
I'm a mirror glass for the Muslims as well as the Western world, which looks at me in a slightly different way, but they are looking in the same mirror. ~ Cat Stevens
Caring World quotes by Cat Stevens
There is somebody in the world whom you have to bring to Christ. I do not know where he is, or who he is; but you had better look out for him. ~ Charles Spurgeon
Caring World quotes by Charles Spurgeon
Dawn was breaking, like the light from another world. ~ Alfred Jarry
Caring World quotes by Alfred Jarry
It was the hard work of our people, the freedom they enjoyed and their faith in God that built this country and made it the envy of the world. In all of our great cities and towns evidence of the faith of our people is found: houses of worship of every denomination are among the oldest structures. While never willing to bow to a tyrant, our forefathers were always willing to get to their knees before God. When catastrophe threatened, they turned to God for deliverance. When the harvest was bountiful the first thought was thanksgiving to God. ~ Ronald Reagan
Caring World quotes by Ronald Reagan
Fortunately or otherwise we live at a time when the average individual has to know several times as much in order to keep informed as he did only thirty or forty years ago. Being "educated" today requires not only more than a superficial knowledge of the arts and sciences, but a sense of inter-relationship such as is taught in few schools. Finally, being "educated" today, in terms of the larger needs, means preparation for world citizenship; in short, education for survival. ~ Norman Cousins
Caring World quotes by Norman Cousins
Having a big gay following, I get hate mail and threats. Some people are blind or ignorant, and you can't be that prejudiced and hateful and go through this world and still be happy. ~ Dolly Parton
Caring World quotes by Dolly Parton
The power of self-kindness can help us to heal our chronic shame and self-loathing. In a world that is often mean-spirited and cruel, a daily practice of kindness and warm-heartedness can make all the difference. ~ Christopher Dines
Caring World quotes by Christopher Dines
People have been on earth in our present form for only about 100,000 years, and in so many ways we're still ironing out our kinks. These turtles we've been traveling with, they outrank us in longevity, having earned three more zeros than we. They've got one hundred million years of success on their resume, and they've learned something about how to survive in the world. And this, I think, is part of it: they have settled upon peaceful career paths, with a stable rhythm. If humans could survive another one hundred million years, I expect we would no longer find ourselves riding bulls. It's not so much that I think animals have rights; it's more that I believe humans have hearts and minds- though I've yet to see consistent, convincing proof of either. Turtles may seem to lack sense, but they don't do senseless things. They're not terribly energetic, yet they do not waste energy… turtles cannot consider what might happen yet nothing turtles do threatens anyone's future. Turtles don't think about the next generation, but they risk and provide all they can to ensure that there will be one. Meanwhile, we profess to love our own offspring above all else, yet above all else it is they from whom we daily steal. We cannot learn to be more like turtles, but from turtles we could learn to be more human. That is the wisdom carried within one hundred million years of survival. What turtles could learn from us, I can't quite imagine. ~ Carl Safina
Caring World quotes by Carl Safina
Marriage is a plastic flower. Love is a real rose, but the real rose is beautiful in the morning; by the evening it is gone. Nobody can say when it will disappear, when the petals will start falling. Just a strong wind and it is no more, just a strong sun and it is no more. But the plastic flower will be there; come rain, come sun, come anything, the plastic flower will be there. In fact, plastic is the only permanent thing in the world. ~ Rajneesh
Caring World quotes by Rajneesh
Half a world away nations that once lived under oppression and tyranny are now budding democracies due in large part to America 's leadership and the sacrifices of our military. ~ Bob Riley
Caring World quotes by Bob Riley
A true prince. One of the finest, least dedicated men in the whole world. ~ Joseph Heller
Caring World quotes by Joseph Heller
The worst defect in the world would be to consider yourself free from faults. Being too greatly saddened by one's faults can come from having one's pride humiliated. ~ Rose Philippine Duchesne
