You don't have to be successful on a grand scale like winning a talent competition or writing a New York Times bestseller - if you have enough small things that you can be successful at then eventually they outshine all your failures. ~ Lindsey Rietzsch
Bestseller quotes by Lindsey Rietzsch
Paul Theroux on Blogging, Travel Writing, and Three Cups of Tea

Speaking of books that contain an element of travel, Greg Mortenson's bestseller about Central Asia was in the news recently. Were you surprised by the allegations that Three Cups of Tea contained fabrications?

No, I wasn't. One of the things The Tao of Travel shows is how unforthcoming most travel writers are, how most travelers are. They don't tell you who they were traveling with, and they're not very reliable about things that happened to them. For example, everyone loved John Steinbeck's book Travels With Charley. Turns out he didn't travel alone, his wife kept meeting him, yet she was never mentioned in the book. Steinbeck didn't go to all the places he mentioned, nor did he meet all the people he said he met. In other words, Travels With Charley is fiction, or at least half-fiction. As for Three Cups of Tea, I think that philanthropists and humanitarians are even less forthcoming about what they do. I guess this guy did build a couple of schools in Afghanistan, but a self-promoting humanitarian is not someone I have a great deal of trust or belief in. I lived for six years in Africa and I've been to Africa numerous times since then. People build schools for their own reasons - not to improve a country.

The people I've known who've done great things of that type - you know, building hospitals, running schools - are very humble people. They give their lives to the project. Mi ~ Paul Theroux
Bestseller quotes by Paul Theroux
I didn't make 'The New York Times' bestseller list until 'Charmed Thirds,' and then again for 'Fourth Comings.' It gave me a certain validation, and it certainly helps position me for future books, but it's not something I think about on a daily basis. ~ Megan McCafferty
Bestseller quotes by Megan McCafferty
Stumbling closer, I held up the manuscript, the pages flapping frantically in the wind. "I take it this is a murder mystery? You killed the ex-fiancée and thanked her in the dedication? Mighty dignified of you, I must say."

"Nah. It's a horror novel. But yeah, the bimbo dies in the end. Bob Hall says it's going to be a bestseller, so I figured I owed her some thanks for the inspiration." He edged a few feet closer, his smile spread from ear to ear. The glimmer in his eyes flickered toward the ocean, breaking our connection. He hung his head, licked his lips, then returned his eyes to mine, restoring the connection with an intense smolder. "Are you gonna get over here, or what?"

Letting out a soft chuckle, the tears began to blind me. "Make me. ~ Rachael Wade
Bestseller quotes by Rachael Wade
I just made it official. I'm a twenty-eight year old married woman with a twenty-two year old boyfriend who lives twenty minutes from a husband he doesn't know exists. That God I started believing in a few minutes ago is sending me straight to Hell. ~ Chrissy Anderson
Bestseller quotes by Chrissy Anderson
You meet dozens of people who tell you you can't do it. Surround yourself with the people who believe you will do it. Seek out and spend time with those rare people who tell you, no BS, why you haven't done it yet, what it takes to do it, and how they could help you do it. Note how this advice works whether 'it' is robbing a bank, opening a gallery, or writing a bestseller. "It" is up to you. But you can't do it alone. ~ Heather Grace Stewart
Bestseller quotes by Heather Grace Stewart
President Obama's friend and counselor Ta-Nehisi Coates, from his perch atop the bestseller lists and at the pinnacle of power in America, denounces the American Dream, in terms that echo Obama's previous spiritual guide, Pastor Wright in Chicago, as a genocidal weight of whiteness. ~ George Gilder
Bestseller quotes by George Gilder
B is for bestseller. ~ Mark Haddon
Bestseller quotes by Mark Haddon
My first book was called 'Buried Dreams,' about a serial-killer, which was probably about ten years ahead of the serial-killer curve. It was a national bestseller, but it was three years of living in the sewer of this guy's mind. ~ Tim Cahill
Bestseller quotes by Tim Cahill
I haven't hit the bestseller list, but I consider myself one of the luckiest writers in the world, and this is mainly because of Grub Street. ~ Christopher Castellani
Bestseller quotes by Christopher Castellani
Beyond the offer tables and online bestseller charts are many other narratives: books that take readers away from what they know, challenge the assumptions that underpin life elsewhere and present a strikingly different world ["How Books Get Lost In translation," Financial Times, January 15, 2015]. ~ Ann Morgan
Bestseller quotes by Ann Morgan
This week Sarah Palin's memoir became a bestseller. It's not even out yet. It's being translated into English. ~ Bill Maher
Bestseller quotes by Bill Maher
Most important of all, there is no right or wrong way to write - there's only what works for you. I was taught to write every day, but I know a writer (a bestseller at that!) who only writes on weekends. ~ Tamora Pierce
Bestseller quotes by Tamora Pierce
I've never tried to be famous or become a bestseller, just rich and remembered. The rest is a bonus. ~ Daniel Marques
Bestseller quotes by Daniel Marques
And it totally depresses me, but the ladies eat it up. They love my father's books and they love his cable-knit sweaters and they love his bleachy smile and orangey tan. And they have turned him into a bestseller and a total dick. ~ Stephanie Perkins
Bestseller quotes by Stephanie Perkins
I know the bestseller 'Gone Girl' doesn't need an ounce of support from me, but that book was as sharp and witty as they come. ~ Jami Attenberg
Bestseller quotes by Jami Attenberg
Anyway, several rewrites later, Del Rey Books did publish my first novel, and it did become the first work of fiction on the New York Times trade paperback bestseller list. ~ Terry Brooks
Bestseller quotes by Terry Brooks
My big dream was to write. I never thought about movie deals or book awards or bestseller lists. I still don't. All I've ever wanted from this gig is to sell enough books to allow me to keep writing more of them. ~ Alistair Cross
Bestseller quotes by Alistair Cross
Sierra felt full of hope and confidence in God. She knew who she was. And she knew Whose she was.
Whatever mysterious plan God had for her life, it would be an interesting one. As Christy had said earlier, God writes a different story for each person. Sierra decided hers might not be a bestseller or even a thriller. It certainly wasn't a romance. But it was turning into a fine mystery. And she could live with that. ~ Robin Jones Gunn
Bestseller quotes by Robin Jones Gunn
Every heart must have
its private
bestseller book. ~ Sanober Khan
Bestseller quotes by Sanober Khan
A bestseller is a book written by a rich person of Indian roots staying in Europe for more than a decade.. ~ Himmilicious
Bestseller quotes by Himmilicious
Psalm 37:4
4 Delight thyself also in the LORD: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. ~ LaNina King
Bestseller quotes by LaNina King
They used Akbar's principles to formulate a version of Islam that could peacefully co-exist with other religions (or so they claimed). An Emperor's Bequest to Islam, their joint 1,300-page doorstopper, spent twenty weeks on the New York Times bestseller list in hardcover alone. The fact that they remained practicing Muslims (albeit the liberal, wine-guzzling kind) put their message in high international demand. ~ Manil Suri
Bestseller quotes by Manil Suri
Great brands have wonderful things to convey compared to lousy brands. When lousy brands say "great service," it means something very different than when a great brand utters the same words. ~ David Brier
Bestseller quotes by David Brier
Every once in a bestseller list, you come across a truly exceptional craftsman, a wordsmith so adept at cutting, shaping, and honing strings of words that you find yourself holding your breath while those words pass from page to eye to brain. You know the feeling: you inhale, hold it, then slowly let it out, like one about to take down a bull moose with a Winchester .30-06. You force your mind to the task, scope out the area, take penetrating aim, and ... read.
But instead of dropping the quarry, you find you've become the hunted, the target. The projectile has somehow boomeranged and with its heat-sensing abilities (you have raised a sweat) darts straight towards you. Duck! And turn the page lest it drill between your eyes. ~ Chila Woychik
Bestseller quotes by Chila Woychik
Most people I meet are stupid. Now, nobody likes to be labeled as stupid because they don't want to know the truth about themselves, that they're more useful dead than alive. The vast majority of those that meet me for the first time don't believe that I've worked as a College Professor, or that I make a living as a writer. In fact, many have stopped talking to me because they believe I make a living doing something illegal, something criminal. It's easier for them to believe that I'm just a criminal, than to accept that I'm one of the most famous bestselling writers in the entire planet. The ones that reach the next level, will ask me if I belong to any secret organization, if I speak to demons or if I channel the dead, or even if I steal information from the internet and other authors. Now, what they can't see, is that the more they talk such things, the more they show me their real nature. They are very, really very, stupid. They can't see an elephant in front of their nose; they can't see an intelligent human being in front of their face; they are indeed very stupid and that's a fact, not an assumption. ~ Robin Sacredfire
Bestseller quotes by Robin Sacredfire
I never set out to do this - getting to No. 1 in the 'New York Times' bestseller list wasn't even a pipedream. ~ E.L. James
Bestseller quotes by E.L. James
Those who would like to become writers attend courses on writing poetry and prose and analyze their own work and that of other writers in development. Teachers teach them that talent is not required and that anyone, who wants to be a writer, can do it if they only master the technique of writing and master the formulas of the genre that they choose. With a little brain storming ideas written on cards, as well as designs and plans on the table, one can even write a novel in a month. There is no secret; the whole secret is in the technique, a little research, and the rest is solved by form, according to a formula, in which it is all nicely wrapped up and packaged.
And so, a bestseller is born. ~ Dejan Stojanovic
Bestseller quotes by Dejan Stojanovic
I thought to myself, 'why not write a bestseller?' In the first place, more people buy them and more people read them. You make more money and it doesn't take any more time to write a bestseller than it does to write a book nobody buys. ~ George Burns
Bestseller quotes by George Burns
There is nothing more amazing than being with the one you love. ~ Shilpi
Bestseller quotes by Shilpi
I understand that it's disheartening to pour effort and money into a work of art and find that others do not value it with the same intensity. I've been to this rodeo more than a few times, and yes, it's painful and hard on the soul. It is also the sort of thing that grown-ups do every day. Anyone deluded enough to think they are owed monetary success because they bled for their art is in for some hard, hard knocks and buckets full of tears. There will be many cries of "unfair" and much jealousy and hatred. And to be fair, all authors go through this every time they watch their books ride the waves of bestseller charts and the ego torture chamber known as Goodreads reviews. Even the most well-adjusted of us watch that horrible piece of shit book beat our baby to pieces and gnash our teeth and shout at our monitors demanding to know what brain-donors are shopping on amazon.com these days.

But holy Smart Bitch on a cracker, Batman, to write a post about how stupid readers are and worse to actually put it out there on the internet is so beyond the pale there's a special hell for that kind of idiocy. Let me repeat: authors exist at the pleasure of readers. Without the people who buy and read my books, I am just another dizzy broad writing shit down. Readers aren't just an author's audience; they are her lifeblood.
-- ~ Heidi Cullinan
Bestseller quotes by Heidi Cullinan
People who make snide comments to authors like "anyone can write a book" or "well, you did it, so obviously I can/it can't be that hard" or poke at a book because it's "romance" or "genre fiction" and act like that somehow makes it substandard because they don't read it ... well, ok, go ahead. Write a bestseller. Don't forget to go through the correct edit process. We'll wait. ~ Michelle M. Pillow
Bestseller quotes by Michelle M. Pillow
I feel successful when the writing goes well. This lasts five minutes. Once, when I was number one on the bestseller list, I also felt successful. That lasted three minutes. ~ Jacqueline Briskin
Bestseller quotes by Jacqueline Briskin
It would be fine, if only I knew how to turn the shower off." Guinzburg laughed. "Perhaps you should ask Miss Redwood to come to your rescue." "If she did, I'm not sure I'd know how to turn her off." "Ah, so she's already subjected you to her lecture on the importance of getting Nothing Ventured on to the bestseller list as quickly as possible. ~ Jeffrey Archer
Bestseller quotes by Jeffrey Archer
Your past has already been written and the words cannot be changed, but your future is waiting to be written; make it a bestseller. ~ Abigail Landsbrook
Bestseller quotes by Abigail Landsbrook
I was wondering how Ms. Hetley, who seemed to occupy just about every slot on the New York Times hardback, paperback, and e-book bestseller lists, had managed to wring eight five-hundred-page installments out of the concept of wars between rival gangs of vampires and wizards when it seemed obvious to me that all a wizard would have to do to kick a vampire's ass was pounce on it during the day while it was sleeping. How could anyone take this stuff seriously, I wondered. Hetley's graphic depictions of wizard-on-vampire sex, which was creating a bloodthirsty, mutant race of evil, soulless 'vampards', seemed absurd. ~ Adam Langer
Bestseller quotes by Adam Langer
Never allow carping critics to deter you from success. Instead, silence them with it. ~ Christian Baloga
Bestseller quotes by Christian Baloga
There's something more surprising than becoming a bestseller, and that's receiving messages of hate by other fellow authors. ~ Daniel Marques
Bestseller quotes by Daniel Marques
Let's face it. There are good people and bad people everywhere. Illiteracy, poor education, wars, greed , corruption and similar factors were responsible for the problems in both India and Pakistan. Religious fanatics benefited from these factors and developed formidable socio-political strongholds in both countries. ~ Vivek Pereira
Bestseller quotes by Vivek Pereira
I had a history for starting something and maybe getting halfway done. Then I'd see the same thing I was doing on the bestseller list! My ideas were right, but I hadn't done them fast enough. ~ Lori Greiner
Bestseller quotes by Lori Greiner
In his bestseller, The Shallows, Nicholas Carr argues that in the Internet age we are losing our capacity for deep thinking, reading, and conversation. ~ Michael S. Horton
Bestseller quotes by Michael S. Horton
For a moment, I wondered how different my life would have been had they been my parents, but I shook the thought away. I knew my father had done the best he could, and I had no regrets about the way I'd turned out. Regrets about the journey, maybe, but not the destination. Because however it had happened, I'd somehow ended up eating shrimp in a dingy downtown shack with a girl that I already knew I'd never forget. ~ Nicholas Sparks
Bestseller quotes by Nicholas Sparks
My first bestseller was a cookbook. That will make any novelist humble. ~ Dan Alatorre
Bestseller quotes by Dan Alatorre
When liberals' presidential nominees consistently fail to carry Kansas, liberals do not rush to read a book titled "What's the Matter With Liberals' Nominees?" No, the book they turned into a bestseller is titled "What's the Matter With Kansas?" Notice a pattern here? ~ George Will
Bestseller quotes by George Will
Take what fame or fortune comes your way. My first bestseller was a cookbook, so remember to be open to trying new things. From that experience I learned things about marketing a book that benefitted me greatly and, combined with my sales management experience with Fortune 500 companies, I was able to launch a string of bestsellers. ~ Dan Alatorre
Bestseller quotes by Dan Alatorre
When Lafayette met him in 1775, the first volume of Raynal's 1770 History of the Two Indies had already been banned, which is to say it was a popular success, the Catholic Church's Index of Forbidden Books being the unofficial bestseller list of the day. ~ Sarah Vowell
Bestseller quotes by Sarah Vowell
We all look different, but we all are the same. We are all just human beings trying to make a difference in a world branded by globalisation. ~ Haidji
Bestseller quotes by Haidji
You life is a book; make it a bestseller. ~ Shanon Grey
Bestseller quotes by Shanon Grey
Bestseller is not the one who sells a million.
Best Seller is the one who has no customers, only friends. ~ Vineet Raj Kapoor
Bestseller quotes by Vineet Raj Kapoor
Confinement is not a part of your destiny. Your life purpose is to take the totality of your negative experiences, roll them up into one, and use them positively to lay the foundation for your destiny. Confinement is not a part of your destiny. Your life purpose is to take the totality of your negative experiences, roll them up into one, and use them positively to lay the foundation for your destiny. ~ B.L. Brown
Bestseller quotes by B.L. Brown
Finally, power-law distributions have "thick tails," meaning that they have a nonnegligible number of extreme values. You will never meet a 20-foot man, or see a car driving down the freeway at 500 miles per hour. But you could conceivably come across a city of 14 million, or a book that was on the bestseller list for 10 years, or a moon crater big enough to see from the earth with the naked eye - or a war that killed 55 million people. ~ Steven Pinker
Bestseller quotes by Steven Pinker
Bookstore operators tell us that the books which head the bestseller list are books on peace and happiness. ~ Joseph B. Wirthlin
Bestseller quotes by Joseph B. Wirthlin
I don't write huge books any more. I used to write 1,000 printed pages, but now I write short books. I did one on Napoleon, 50,000 words - enjoyed doing that. He was a baddie. I did one on Churchill, which was a bestseller in New York, I'm glad to say. 50,000 words. He was a goodie. ~ Paul Johnson
Bestseller quotes by Paul Johnson
For me the really cool parts of being an author don't have anything to do with getting onto a bestseller list. ~ Patrick Rothfuss
Bestseller quotes by Patrick Rothfuss
I'd rather be an unknown book in the library of time, than a bestseller in the store of mankind. ~ Stephan Attia
Bestseller quotes by Stephan Attia
A best-seller was a book which somehow sold well because it was selling well. ~ Daniel J. Boorstin
Bestseller quotes by Daniel J. Boorstin
The thing is, if people were books, Ethan would be a bestseller. A sexy, intelligent page-turner you'd find hard to put down, even after it reduced you to a sobbing mess. ~ Leisa Rayven
Bestseller quotes by Leisa Rayven
When I was on the bestseller list with the first book, everyone who knows me knows that every week it continued to be on the list was a very dark week for me. Everyone knows that all I wanted was to be off that list. ~ Dave Eggers
Bestseller quotes by Dave Eggers
Some books sold because they are (said to be) great. Some are (said to be) great because they sold. ~ Mokokoma Mokhonoana
Bestseller quotes by Mokokoma Mokhonoana
When 'Twilight' hit the New York Times bestseller list at number 5, for me that was the pinnacle, that was the moment. I never thought I would be there. And I keep having moments like that where you just stop and say, wait a minute - how is this still going up? I'm waiting for the rug to be pulled out from under me. ~ Stephenie Meyer
Bestseller quotes by Stephenie Meyer
At least since the time of In Search of Excellence in 1980, its first blockbuster bestseller, management literature has rejected the model of a business organization as a machine and its people as robots. Managers are exhorted to stop managing and start leading, to empower people, and to master something called "change management." The volume of the volumes has become cacophonous. However, many managers remain rather confused, as there is little consensus about how empowerment is actually supposed to work. ~ Stephen Bungay
Bestseller quotes by Stephen Bungay
When a psychiatrist writes a bestseller, he is then urged to write a book of advice. But I think our culture's awash in advice. The problem is we don't know whether it applies to us or whether we're an exception. ~ Peter D. Kramer
Bestseller quotes by Peter D. Kramer
Jerry and I hoped that it would be a popular bestseller. ~ Tim LaHaye
Bestseller quotes by Tim LaHaye
If your not making much money doing what you hate, then break free, follow your dreams, and be a writer for the same rate. ~ Aaron Lauritsen
Bestseller quotes by Aaron Lauritsen
Your competitors have the same idea of how unique, special, vital, and relevant they are with everyone spending a lot of money using the same words, messages, and promises to convince prospects how unique they each are. ~ David Brier
Bestseller quotes by David Brier
They suffered with his death and she - she suffered with their reaction to it. ~ Haidji
Bestseller quotes by Haidji
Most people tend to excuse themselves with the opportunities they have in life, with how many years of school they have, with the people around them. And in doing so, they fail in realizing many other things, such as the fact that not many are lucky enough to give birth to a world bestseller on spirituality, wealth and success in life. Yes, your child may be a little reincarnation of an awesome buddhist monk, of an alchemist or a famous knight templar. Why most people can't see these things, and keep looking at the past for answers, is something that still puzzles me. ~ Robin Sacredfire
Bestseller quotes by Robin Sacredfire
I think this is an alarming trend, Bethany, this whole 'passionate' thing. I'm guessing it started about four years ago, and it's driving me nuts. Let's be practical: Earth was not built for six billion people all running around and being passionate about things. The world was built for about twenty million people foraging for roots and grubs. [...] My hunch is that there was some self-help bestseller a few years back that told people to follow their passion. What a sucky expression. I can usually tell when people have recently read that book because they're a bit distracted, and maybe they've done their hair a new way, and they're always trying to discuss the Big Picture of life and failing miserably. And then, when you bump into them again six months later, they appear haggard and bitter, the joy drained from them–and this means that the universe is back to normal and that they've given up searching for a passion they're doomed to never find. Want a chocolate? ~ Douglas Coupland
Bestseller quotes by Douglas Coupland
Girl, you look good while you stack them books up. You's a fine motherfucker while you stack them books up. Call me bestseller while you stack them books up. Girl, who is you playin' with, stack them books up. ~ Christina C. Jones
Bestseller quotes by Christina C. Jones
A quote from "Dead Men Don't Kill.

These were tears from heaven. They were second hand sadness. ~ Viveca Benoir
Bestseller quotes by Viveca Benoir
To be a bestseller is not necessarily a measure of quality, but it is a measure of communication. ~ Barbara Tuchman
Bestseller quotes by Barbara Tuchman
Readers have a loyalty that cannot be matched anywhere else in the creative arts, which explains why so many writers who have run out of gas can keep coasting anyway, propelled on to the bestseller lists by the magic words AUTHOR OF on the covers of their books. ~ Stephen King
Bestseller quotes by Stephen King
Success is not measured by bestseller lists. Certain types of great books sell very well; other types of great books don't sell a lot. But they're both great. ~ Po Bronson
Bestseller quotes by Po Bronson
The bestseller charts, a sure indicator of public taste, tell us with relentless frequency that Marian Keyes or Jeffrey Archer is a better author, by some dizzying six-figure sum, both in numbers of copies and money, than, say, J. M. Coetzee or Patrick White. Are they right? ~ Neel Mukherjee
Bestseller quotes by Neel Mukherjee
We come to the page with too many expectations. Each poor little story is like a trembling donkey upon which we heap tons of weight. We don't just want a good book, we want a bestseller. If it isn't perfect, we hate it. If it isn't 100% right, it's 1000% wrong. Problem: we care too damn much. It's all or nothing with us and that's the kind of dichotomy that shanks our happiness right in the kidneys. So: care less. Ease off the stress stick. Have more fun with what you're doing. When your kids and dogs play in the mud, you can either freak out that they're too dirty, or you can laugh and jump in the mud, too. So, fuck it: jump in the damn mud already. ~ Chuck Wendig
Bestseller quotes by Chuck Wendig
Even before the publication of her bestseller, [Sonia] Sotomayor was a different breed: approachable, human, like the people who came out to greet her. Her book brought her to another level of celebrity and public adulation. She wrote about her 'darker experiences' growing up. She wrote that she had a pudgy nose, a mop of hair, and that it would take most of her adult life to feel pulled together. She became an everywoman with everywoman doubts. ~ Joan Biskupic
Bestseller quotes by Joan Biskupic
Peter Breggin, an American psychiatrist, had been criticising SSRIs since the early 1990s. He wrote 'Talking Back to Prozac' (1995) to repudiate psychiatrist Peter Kramer's 'Listening to Prozac' (1993) - a bestseller which claimed that Prozac made patients 'better than well.' ~ John Cornwell
Bestseller quotes by John Cornwell
You can look at the New York Times Bestseller List and you can be pretty sure that the writers on that list don't know each other very well. ~ Anne Rice
Bestseller quotes by Anne Rice
When I wrote 'The Rozabal Line,' I had no preconceived notions of what a commercial bestseller should be. I have always viewed 'The Rozabal Line' as my first love and probably my best work. The fact, however, is that it is my least read work. ~ Ashwin Sanghi
Bestseller quotes by Ashwin Sanghi
PRINCIPLES ARE LIKE THE LIGHTHOUSES. THEY STAND STILL. SO WE DON'T LOSE OUR WAY. ~ Kenan Crnkic
Bestseller quotes by Kenan Crnkic
Well, at the end of our movie Fireproof, we released a book that my brother Stephen and I wrote called The Love Dare. It was for couples. That book had a much larger impact than we expected. As a matter of fact, if I could use the term "overwhelmed," we were. The book went on to become a New York Times bestseller and sold over five-million copies and is now in 28 different countries and languages. So, we were blessed and just surprised at how well that did. ~ Alex Kendrick
Bestseller quotes by Alex Kendrick
DSM-IV is the fabrication upon which psychiatry seeks acceptance by medicine in general. Insiders know it is more a political than scientific document ... DSM-IV has become a bible and a money making bestseller - its major failings notwithstanding. ~ Loren Mosher
Bestseller quotes by Loren Mosher
Usually the recipe for a bestseller is to give people what they want. My challenge is and was: Give them what they do not expect. Be severe with them. The world of media is full of easy answers, wash-and-wear philosophies, instant ecstacies, what-me-worry Epiphanies. Probably readers want a little more. ~ Umberto Eco
Bestseller quotes by Umberto Eco
If I could publish actual interviews with vampires - " "Sheesh, Susan. You're reading too much off the bestseller list. In ~ Jim Butcher
Bestseller quotes by Jim Butcher
These books can't possibly compete with centuries of established history, especially when that history is endorsed by the ultimate bestseller of all time."
Faukman's eyes went wide. "Don't tell me Harry Potter is actually about the Holy Grail."
"I was referring to the Bible."
Faukman cringed. "I knew that. ~ Dan Brown
Bestseller quotes by Dan Brown
Being a bestseller doesnt mean they wrote a great book. Just means they knew a lot of people who would buy it. ~ David A. Santos
Bestseller quotes by David A. Santos
Writing itself is a dream. There are days of self doubt and deadlines and wondering how you're going to pay the bills until you write that bestseller. But it's still the best job I've ever had. I've also been able to help a lot of people and even inspire a few and that feels great. ~ Graham Brown
Bestseller quotes by Graham Brown
If you write chick lit, and if you're a New Yorker, and if your book becomes the topic of pop-culture fascination, the paper might make dismissive and ignorant mention of your book. If you write romance, forget about it. You'll be lucky if they spell your name right on the bestseller list. ~ Jennifer Weiner
Bestseller quotes by Jennifer Weiner
You have to go into rehab after doing a David Walliams book. David is such an important man; publishers rate him very, very highly, His books usually go straight to the bestseller number one spot on the day of publication. He is a hugely important writer as far as HarperCollins, his publishers, are concerned. ~ Tony Ross
Bestseller quotes by Tony Ross
We partner with movies that stand for more than the latest bestseller. ~ David A.R. White
Bestseller quotes by David A.R. White
We all fight for money, some for power, but most of all for love. But me, I fight to become a champion. ~ Jonathan Anthony Burkett
Bestseller quotes by Jonathan Anthony Burkett
There's a little rack along the front of the counter bearing religious tracts, free for the taking, donation requested. Several slots on the rack are occupied by the Reverend Wayne's famous bestseller. How America Was Saved from Communism: ELVIS SHOT JFK. ~ Neal Stephenson
Bestseller quotes by Neal Stephenson
You do not know, and the readers cannot tell you, what they might like until they have it. It is one of those things that particularly if you want to be the next wave, well the next wave is not already on the bestseller lists. The next wave is in somebody's head. ~ Stephanie Laurens
Bestseller quotes by Stephanie Laurens
Writers need to be open to trying new things. My first bestseller was a cookbook, and from that experience I learned things about marketing a book that benefitted me greatly. ~ Dan Alatorre
Bestseller quotes by Dan Alatorre
It was around the time of the divorce that all traces of decency vanished, and his dream of being the next great Southern writer was replaced by his desire to be the next published writer. So he started writing these novels set in Small Town Georgia about folks with Good American Values who Fall in Love and then contract Life-Threatening Diseases and Die.
I'm serious.
And it totally depresses me, but the ladies eat it up. They love my father's books and they love his cable-knit sweaters and they love his bleachy smile and orangey tan. And they have turned him into a bestseller and a total dick.
Two of his books have been made into movies and three more are in production, which is where his real money comes from. Hollywood. And, somehow, this extra cash and pseudo-prestige have warped his brain into thinking that I should live in France. For a year.Alone.I don't understand why he couldn't send me to Australia or Ireland or anywhere else where English is the native language. The only French word I know is oui, which means "yes," and only recently did I learn it's spelled o-u-i and not w-e-e.
At least the people in my new school speak English. It was founded for pretentious Americans who don't like the company of their own children. I mean, really. Who sends their kid to boarding school? It's so Hogwarts. Only mine doesn't have cute boy wizards or magic candy or flying lessons.
Instead,I'm stuck with ninety-nine other students. There are twenty-five people ~ Stephanie Perkins
