Art is the queen of all sciences communicating knowledge to all the generations of the world. ~ Leonardo Da Vinci
Artists And Life quotes by Leonardo Da Vinci
Art is the only serious thing in the world. And the artist is the only person who is never serious. ~ Oscar Wilde
Artists And Life quotes by Oscar Wilde
As he stood in the darkness, his eyes glistened and that's when I knew my light found its traction. ~ Dominic Riccitello
Artists And Life quotes by Dominic Riccitello
It took several minutes before I was strong enough to say more than a few words of welcome to Aurelia. She returned my gratitude by saying, "You both are going to smell horrid, and now I'll smell too. Honestly, Nic, I'm beginning to wonder what your attraction is to sewage."

"It's not what attracts me down here as much as what repels me up there," I said. Despite being covered in filth I didn't even want to think about, I felt only happiness for being here now. This was the second time the Cloaca Maxima had saved my life. And much more than the second time that Aurelia had come to save me.

I stood and helped Livia to her feet. She was obviously disgusted by the smells around us, but hid her revulsion as well as anyone could. When she faced Aurelia, I made the introductions.

"Your brother has told me so much about you," Aurelia said with a polite bow to Livia.

Livia bowed back. "And the same for you. From Nic's descriptions, I feel as if I already know you."

"He described me?" Aurelia glanced my way with a broad grin. I felt myself blushing and hoped it wasn't visible in the torchlight.

"This is a terrible place for such silly talk," I said. "Let's go."

Aurelia and Livia began walking, with me trailing them. "What did Nic say about me?" Aurelia asked.

"That you're loud and you ask too many questions," I replied before Livia could speak.

Livia giggled. "No, that wasn't it."
< ~ Jennifer A. Nielsen
Artists And Life quotes by Jennifer A. Nielsen
Running for me is not an activity I work into my life or a pursuit with a set end point. Rather, it is an integral piece of who I am and hope to always be. ~ Hal Koerner
Artists And Life quotes by Hal Koerner
Albine now yielded to him, and Serge possessed her.
And the whole garden was engulfed together with the couple in one last cry of love's passion. The tree-trunks bent as under a powerful wind. The blades of grass emitted sobs of intoxication. The flowers, fainting, lips half-open, breathed out their souls. The sky itself, aflame with the setting of the great star, held its clouds motionless, faint with love, whence superhuman rapture fell. And it was the victory of all the wild creatures, all plants and all things natural, which willed the entry of these two children into the eternity of life. ~ Emile Zola
Artists And Life quotes by Emile Zola
Our country is the best country in the world. We are swimming in prosperity and our President is the best president in the world. We have larger apples and better cotton and faster and more beautiful machines. This makes us the greatest country in the world. Unemployment is a myth. Dissatisfaction is a fable. In preparatory school America is beautiful. It is the gem of the ocean and it is too bad. It is bad because people believe it all. Because they become indifferent. Because they marry and reproduce and vote and they know nothing. ~ John Cheever
Artists And Life quotes by John Cheever
You need to understand the inner flowing energy and the eternal truth, is revealed to you. This is the only mystery, cult, esoteric, elusive or magic of life exists in the universe. ~ Roshan Sharma
Artists And Life quotes by Roshan Sharma
Hatred is corrosive of a person's wisdom and conscience; the mentality of enmity can poison a nation's spirit, instigate brutal life and death struggles, destroy a society's tolerance and humanity, and block a nation's progress to freedom and democracy. ~ Liu Xiaobo
Artists And Life quotes by Liu Xiaobo
The simpler explanation,' Emerson with a distinct uvular component in his Sigh, 'may be that none of you people has ever known a moment of Transcendence in his life, nor would recognize one did it walk up and bit yese in the Arse, - and in the long sorry Silence, grows the suspicion that Jesuits are but the latest instance of a true Christian passion evaporated away, leaving no more than the usual hollow desires for Authority and mindless O-bedience. ~ Thomas Pynchon
Artists And Life quotes by Thomas Pynchon
I am convinced by the events of the last few weeks that nefarious forces of people
unidentified but no less real
are threatening life as we know it, and in fact, may be bent on unraveling the very fabric of our existence. ~ Christopher Moore
Artists And Life quotes by Christopher Moore
When life is this dull, you have to invent purpose. Collecting torn-up newspaper gives you a hobby, provides an anchoring intimacy with your surroundings, keeps the streets clean. Or so you think. Then one day you wake up and realise that it was all a con: what you had thought was an escape from madness was in fact the arrival. ~ Alexander Masters
Artists And Life quotes by Alexander Masters
Life is relationship, living is relationship. We cannot live if you and I have built a wall around ourselves and just peep over that wall occasionally. Unconsciously, deeply, under the wall, we are related. ~ Jiddu Krishnamurti
Artists And Life quotes by Jiddu Krishnamurti
I cannot pretend that I understood my mother at the end of her life. I was trying to follow the goals she had set me even though she had rejected them for herself. I took the following to be her death poem: Why do we suffer so in the world? Just regard life as the short bloom of the mountain cherry. Over the years, my opinion of this poem changed. At first I considered it another lament in the pessimistic mode she so often adopted. Then one day I realized it was actually joyous, and my entire understanding of her was transformed. In the end she had no more sorrow than does a cherry blossom at its falling. ~ Liza Dalby
Artists And Life quotes by Liza Dalby
My older brother's been my best friend since I can remember. I talk to him every day of my life, and anytime he's in town we're together. But I'm also very close with my parents. We all get along very, very well. We've never had fights or anything like that. ~ Mitchel Musso
Artists And Life quotes by Mitchel Musso
You were just in South Dakota a couple of weeks ago," he pointed out. "Why didn't you get it then?"
"It wasn't available then." She brushed back a tiny strand of loose hair. "Don't cross-examine me, okay? It's been a long day."
He ran a hand around the back of his neck, under his braid of hair, and stared at her own hair in the tight bun at her nape as she replaced the errant strand. "I thought you took it down at night."
"At bedtime," she corrected.
His eyes narrowed. "Lucky Colby," he said deliberately.
She wasn't going to give him any rope to hang her with. She just smiled.
He glared at her. "He won't change," he said flatly.
"I don't care," she said. "I appreciate all you've done for me, Tate, but my private life is my own business, not yours."
"That's a hell of a way to talk to me."
"That works both ways," she replied, eyes narrowing. "What gives you the right to ask questions about the men I date?"
Her words made him mad. His lips compressed until they made a straight line. He looked like his father when he was angry. He finished his coffee in a tense silence and got to his feet. He glanced at his watch. "I've got to go. I just wanted to see how you were."
"You just wanted to see if Colby was here," she corrected and smiled mirthlessly when he blinked.
"You know I don't approve of Colby," he told her.
"Like I care?" she said.
He took a step toward her. His black eyes glittered with conflicting emotion ~ Diana Palmer
Artists And Life quotes by Diana Palmer
I've always said, 'I didn't have a Plan B in life.' I was in pursuit of my dream from the very beginning. It's all about desire and passion. At all costs. ~ Mario Andretti
Artists And Life quotes by Mario Andretti
Happiness and sorrow are two sides of the same coin called life. Whatever befalls you, walk on unattached. ~ Sanchita Pandey
Artists And Life quotes by Sanchita Pandey
In consumer life we become what we consume-disposable junk to be used and thrown away. ~ Bryant McGill
Artists And Life quotes by Bryant McGill
It's been a thousand years since I became a poem I have been in your hear all along this journey. ~ Avijeet Das
Artists And Life quotes by Avijeet Das
I think all people's lives are controlled by their decisions. You look at people's lives - it's not their conditions, it's their decisions. So everybody has a choice and every moment in your life you're making decisions. ~ Tony Robbins
Artists And Life quotes by Tony Robbins
Shadows, with their hint that perhaps we, too, are shadows of some essence that will remain a mystery to us until we return to it, are one of the wonders of daily life that often go unnoticed. Only occasionally will someone peer into the shadow thrown by clouds or by a tree, or into his own shadow, and that moment will seem to hint at some revelation. ~ Goce Smilevski
Artists And Life quotes by Goce Smilevski
Have you ever been lost hope in what you believed so far in life as no meaning? And when started adapting to the life what you got and moving forward, suddenly something comes up and glitters a shine on the hope you lost belief. Your brain is never believed the glitter, but heart attracts to the stuff which you may get hurt. Why I am always been the victim of the life's crisis. Hope makes the life a life, in the meantime it is the source of all pains. ~ Vivek Thangaswamy
Artists And Life quotes by Vivek Thangaswamy
To seek Truth is automatically a calling for the innate dissident and the subversive; how
many are willing to give up safety and security for the perilous life of the spiritual revolutionary? How
many are willing to truly learn that their own cherished concepts are wrong? Striking provocative or
mysterious poses in the safety of Internet [social media] is far easier than taking the risks involved in
the hard work of genuine initiation. ~ Zeena Schreck
Artists And Life quotes by Zeena Schreck
We know that hockey is where we live, where we can best meet and overcome pain and wrong and death. Life is just a place where we spend time between games. ~ Fred Shero
Artists And Life quotes by Fred Shero
At that time, a number of myths were created by the young people of the smoking carriages and forests of hallucinogenic mushrooms, the hungry for the thirst of lysergic acid, who were too tired of the suffering they grew up in and needed to take refuge in dreams. In these children's universe there were unbelievable stories about places in the mountains that women sought to retreat to, places where people were united by music and love for a mutual spiritual growth. For Aunt Jeanine, who had grown up with the image of her father, an amputee due to the war, feeding on such stories was like a haven, one she would later try to turn into her home. And one of those stories, one particular one, stood in her memory until the last stage of her life, when she passed away at eighty-one, burned with fire. (...) At that time, kid, they said that if we searched enough, we would find a place where the world wouldn't end. Men would never know what hell of a place that was, totally unconquerable! A place where the dirty hands of men would never arrive. A place men would never know about . Don't you think I could find it? To have my body disappearing in the woods, as I saw happening to kids in Japan, in that forest that swallows them to its core. Flesh turned to powder, my essence disappearing in the middle of life. They said that, when you die at a place, you'll stay at that place forever. That was why everyone was afraid to go to war. They weren't afraid of dying, kid, they were afraid of dyi ~ Pat R
Artists And Life quotes by Pat R
Sammy is Upoopia!" my baby shouted and clapped his hands, instantly bringing all the furniture in the room to life. Couches and chairs upended their occupants and began to dance around the room recklessly.
"Outstanding," Satan yelled as he tangoed with a chaise. "My great nephew is tremendous". ~ Robyn Peterman
Artists And Life quotes by Robyn Peterman
Turn the pages of history and you will always find the morality of an age reflecting the life of its prince. ~ Erasmus
Artists And Life quotes by Erasmus
In the next few years the struggle will not be between utopia and reality, but between different utopias, each trying to impose itself on reality ... we can no longer hope to save everything, but ... we can at least try to save lives, so that some kind of future, if perhaps not the ideal one, will remain possible. ~ Albert Camus
Artists And Life quotes by Albert Camus
It was at a vividly bad time in Norman Mailer's life that I met him, and a sort of water-treading time in mine. He had stabbed his wife, and I was a copy boy at Time magazine. ~ Dick Cavett
Artists And Life quotes by Dick Cavett
When we start raising different inconsistent truths, life may tip into bewilderment and the brain may go haywire. The confrontation between what is, not is, and maybe is, might embed an enduring showdown, harboring an intense apprehension, and bring us sometimes unwittingly to our knees ("The hidden sides of his character" ) ~ Erik Pevernagie
Artists And Life quotes by Erik Pevernagie
However difficult life may seem, there is always something you can do and succeed at. ~ Stephen Hawking
Artists And Life quotes by Stephen Hawking
Family life is the normal context in which we can learn that a life filled with thinking about others instead of ourselves is the sure road to the most fulfilling joys and satisfactions. ~ Alan Keyes
Artists And Life quotes by Alan Keyes
Braden! How the hell are ya?!" said the guy with the teeth, grabbing Braden's hand and pumping it up and down almost frantically. He looked like a demented Ken doll.

"You're looking quite dashing tonight, Braden," said the cold-looking woman in an even colder voice. "Isn't he, Felicity?" she asked the sullen young woman. I had never seen a more inappropriately named person in my life. She would have made Wednesday Addams look like Doris Day. ~ N.M. Silber
