Lady Gaga not a diva, and she's not crazy. She's just an incredibly nice, down-to-earth person who really cares about art and creativity. It's pretty amazing to be able to work with her. I'm pretty grateful for that. ~ Evan Peters
Art And Creativity quotes by Evan Peters
I must create a system, or be enslaved by another man's. I will not reason and compare: my business is to create. ~ William Blake
Art And Creativity quotes by William Blake
I serve with my art and creativity. That makes me most happy. ~ Misty Upham
Art And Creativity quotes by Misty Upham
I really feel that artists or musicians are controversial people. Controversy is part of the nature of art and creativity. If people are not doing that, they're not artists - they're artisans. ~ Yoko Ono
Art And Creativity quotes by Yoko Ono
In almost every part of life, the important moments are not the ones you'd think are the important ones. The really important moments are before the "big" moments. When you're writing, the moment you sit down at the keyboard isn't the magic moment; the magic moments are when you decide to see and hear and remember and taste everything in the whole world, choosing to believe that art and creativity are all around you, unfolding and beckoning you. And running is about sleep, water, getting a babysitter, not having that last glass or two of wine. By the time you've laced up your shoes and you're moving your feet, most of the hard choices have been made. ~ Shauna Niequist
Art And Creativity quotes by Shauna Niequist
Controversy is part of the nature of art and creativity. ~ Yoko Ono
Art And Creativity quotes by Yoko Ono
There seems to be art and creativity everywhere, whether it was in the galleries of Jaffa or along the streets of Jerusalem ... the creativity blows my mind because you can see that people want to live their lives to the fullest. ~ Guillermo Diaz
Art And Creativity quotes by Guillermo Diaz
Unfortunately, music devolved instead of evolved. The music business got into the hands of lawyers and accountants rather than the entrepreneurial creative people, and that's when the beginning of the end started. It's all based on money instead of art and creativity. ~ Gary Wright
Art And Creativity quotes by Gary Wright
Creativity is piercing the mundane to find the marvelous. ~ Bill Moyers
Art And Creativity quotes by Bill Moyers
When I think how art education is eliminated whenever we get a budget crunch in the schools, I have to stand up and say that even when there was dire poverty ten blocks away from Tiffany Studios in the Lower East Side of Manhattan, there was art and creativity within. ~ Susan Vreeland
Art And Creativity quotes by Susan Vreeland
All my work is created from personal experiences. My hope is always that others will see it as a gateway, develop their own message and feel a part of the art. ~ Sanford Biggers
Art And Creativity quotes by Sanford Biggers
[Art] acts as 'an instrument allowing us to see through the gaps of dominant ideologies, and the source from which new methods could be drawn in the struggle against the system(s)'. ~ Nicholas Gane
Art And Creativity quotes by Nicholas Gane
There's a love that I want to continue to offer people. And, I hope I can offer people that love through the art. ~ Grace Gealey
Art And Creativity quotes by Grace Gealey
He had thrilled to his own power only in the throes of sex, when he didn't have the presence of mind to know that pleasure wouldn't last forever, and in the flush of freedom, when he was too innocent to know he wasn't free.
Now he seized the power that came from that collision of sex with freedom called love. ~ Steve Erickson
Art And Creativity quotes by Steve Erickson
Embrace constraint. What you get in return is the art and craft of editing your own life, weeding out what is and isn't necessary. ~ Biz Stone
Art And Creativity quotes by Biz Stone
Creativity is not a solitary movement. That is its power. Whatever is touched by it, whoever hears it, sees it, senses it, knows it, it's fed. That is why beholding someone else's creative word, images, idea, fills us up, and inspires us to our own creative work. A single creative act has the potential to feed a continent. One creative act can cause a torrent to break through stone. ~ Clarissa Pinkola Estes
Art And Creativity quotes by Clarissa Pinkola Estes
You have gifts to share. When used well, creativity isn't just about you. It's about what you have to give. It's about leaving a mark, changing lives, and sparking a legacy that others can pass on. ~ Ed Cyzewski
Art And Creativity quotes by Ed Cyzewski
I was a jock, hardcore sports all the way down the line, but I heard that if you auditioned for this arts school, you got time off school, and that sounded good to me. ~ Jake Epstein
Art And Creativity quotes by Jake Epstein
Five mysteries hold the keys to the unseen: the act of love, and the birth of a baby, and the contemplation of great art, and being in the presence of death or disaster, and hearing the human voice lifted in song. These are the occasions when the bolts of the universe fly open and we are given a glimpse of what is hidden; an eff of the ineffable. ~ Salman Rushdie
Art And Creativity quotes by Salman Rushdie
Art is as heavy as sorrow, as light as a breeze, as bright as an idea, as pretty as a picture, as funny as money, and as fugitive as fraud! ~ Barbara Kruger
Art And Creativity quotes by Barbara Kruger
An entertainment is something which distracts us or diverts us from the routine of daily life. It makes us for the time being forget our cares and worries; it interrupts our conscious thoughts and habits, rests our nerves and minds, though it may incidentally exhaust our bodies. Art, on the other hand, though it may divert us from the normal routine of our existence, causes us in some way or other to become conscious of that existence. ~ Herbert Read
Art And Creativity quotes by Herbert Read
We all have weak moments, moments where we lose faith, but it's our flaws, our weaknesses that make us human. Science now performs miracles like the gods of old, creating life from blood cells or bacteria, or a spark of metal. But they're perfect creatures and in that way they couldn't be less human. There are things machines will never do, they cannot possess faith, they cannot commune with God. They cannot appreciate beauty, they cannot create art. If they ever learn these things, they won't have to destroy us, they'll be us. ~ Sarah Connor
Art And Creativity quotes by Sarah Connor
Are you kind enough, on your little planet, not to shut that rhythm down? Not to crush underfoot the singers of songs and tellers of tales and wearers of silk? Because it's monsters who do that. Who extinguish art. Who burn books. Who ban music. Who yell at anyone with ears to turn off that racket. Who cannot see outside themselves clearly enough to sing their truth to the heavens. Do you have enough goodness in your world to let the music play?

Do you have soul? ~ Catherynne M. Valente
Art And Creativity quotes by Catherynne M. Valente
Wherever there is degeneration and apathy, there also is sexual perversion, cold depravity, miscarriage, premature old age, grumbling youth, there is a decline in the arts, indifference to science, and injustice in all its forms. ~ Anton Chekhov
Art And Creativity quotes by Anton Chekhov
When you're doing martial arts, you feel like you can master certain skills and be so much more in control of who you are, so that really appealed to me. ~ Milla Jovovich
Art And Creativity quotes by Milla Jovovich
The stomach is the teacher of the arts and the dispenser of invention. ~ Aulus Persius Flaccus
Art And Creativity quotes by Aulus Persius Flaccus
Art, it seems to me, doesn't need freedom so much as it needs courage and love - some would call it 'soul' or 'Eros.' ~ Michael Leunig
Art And Creativity quotes by Michael Leunig
The foundation of empire is art and science. Remove them or degrade them, and the empire is no more. Empire follows art and not vice versa as Englishmen suppose. ~ William Blake
Art And Creativity quotes by William Blake
Only through art can we get outside of ourselves and know another's view of the universe which is not the same as ours and see landscapes which otherwise would remain unknown to us like the landscapes of the moon. Thanks to art, instead of seeing a single world, our own, we see it multiply until we have before us as many worlds as there are original artists. ~ Marcel Proust
Art And Creativity quotes by Marcel Proust
I wanted to define the vocabulary of a wedding both visually and intellectually. The book is about more than weddings or wedding dresses. It's a metaphor for women's lives, their creativity. ~ Vera Wang
Art And Creativity quotes by Vera Wang
Saturday evening, on a quiet lazy afternoon, I went to watch a bullfight in Las Ventas, one of Madrid's most famous bullrings. I went there out of curiosity. I had long been haunted by the image of the matador with its custom made torero suit, embroidered with golden threads, looking spectacular in his "suit of light" or traje de luces as they call it in Spain. I was curious to see the dance of death unfold in front of me, to test my humanity in the midst of blood and gold, and to see in which state my soul will come out of the arena, whether it will be shaken and stirred, furious and angry, or a little bit aware of the life embedded in every death. Being an avid fan of Hemingway, and a proponent of his famous sentence "About morals, I know only that what is moral is what you feel good after and what is immoral is what you feel bad after," I went there willingly to test myself. I had heard atrocities about bullfighting yet I had this immense desire to be part of what I partially had an inclination to call a bloody piece of cultural experience. As I sat there, in front of the empty arena, I felt a grandiose feeling of belonging to something bigger than anything I experienced during my stay in Spain. Few minutes and I'll be witnessing a painting being carefully drawn in front of me, few minutes and I will be part of an art form deeply entrenched in the Spanish cultural heritage: the art of defying death. But to sit there, and to watch the bull enter the arena… To watch one bull ~ Malak El Halabi
Art And Creativity quotes by Malak El Halabi
To me, cinema is not a movie or a TV screen, and it's not a seat in a building versus one in your living room. It's the art of motion pictures. ~ Ted Sarandos
Art And Creativity quotes by Ted Sarandos
The Golden Bough captured the imagination of many artists in the early twentieth century. Eliot, certainly, was immersed in it, discussing it familiarly in his graduate school papers and book reviews and constantly alluding to it in his art. The most straightforward advice he offers to readers of The Waste Land (given in the notes to the poem) is, in paraphrase, that any serious reader of the poem must take into consideration modern scholarship in myth and anthropology, especially Frazer Golden Bough and Jessie Weston From Ritual to Romance. The poet says that he is indebted to this scholarship for his title, his plan, his symbolism, and many of his references to ancient religion and society. His claim about the title, taken from the monomyth of Frazer and Weston, his claim about the symbolism, associated with the birth-death-rebirth cycles of the myths, and his claim about the miscellaneous undergirding references have been discussed by Grover Smith and other scholars. We wish to focus more on Eliot's claim about being indebted to Frazer for the plan of the poem. We believe it refers, at least in part, to Frazer's use of the comparative method and to his practice of assembling many perspectives and allowing these perspectives to make his point.

It must be noted at once that Eliot was quite selective in his admiration of Frazer. For example, he did not admire Frazer's positivism. Frazer put his faith in science and celebrated what he called the evolution from magic ~ Jewel Spears Brooker
Art And Creativity quotes by Jewel Spears Brooker
Art is one of the few places where talent and madness can actually go to squirrel away inside each other. ~ Pat Conroy
Art And Creativity quotes by Pat Conroy
There is a dialectic between common humanity and particular ways of being human. ~ Howard Morphy
Art And Creativity quotes by Howard Morphy
Everybody's beatable. Mixed martial arts, there's many ways to win, and that also means there are many ways to lose, as well. ~ Bas Rutten
Art And Creativity quotes by Bas Rutten
Often I'll go outside and just place my hands on the soil, even if there's no work to do on it. When I am filled with worries, I do that and I can feel the energy of the mountains and of the trees. ~ Andy Couturier
Art And Creativity quotes by Andy Couturier
Art and religion have the same origin. Art first, or religion first? Maybe consciousness first! Consciousness always comes with religious feeling and artistic identification. It's the same origin. ~ Hiroshi Sugimoto
Art And Creativity quotes by Hiroshi Sugimoto
Music, When Soft Voices Die

Music, when soft voices die,
Vibrates in the memory;
Odours, when sweet violets sicken,
Live within the sense they quicken.

Rose leaves, when the rose is dead,
Are heap'd for the belovèd's bed;
And so thy thoughts, when thou art gone,
Love itself shall slumber on. ~ Percy Bysshe Shelley
Art And Creativity quotes by Percy Bysshe Shelley
Well? You just gonna stand there?" She huffed out a breath. "How does she look, Lev?"
Mina looked up at me through lowered lashes, biting the inside of her lip. She wrung her fingers together, and I wondered how it would feel to have those fingers run through my hair.
How did she look?
"Like art," I responded sincerely. ~ Belle Aurora
Art And Creativity quotes by Belle Aurora
The reason companies work is because you're able to get a lot of people doing the work; it's not because of this visionary. Steve Jobs didn't make Apple; it was a bunch of people. The building of the right team is an art in and of its own right. ~ D.A. Wallach
Art And Creativity quotes by D.A. Wallach
If a work of art is rich and vital and complete, those who have artistic instincts will see its beauty, and those to whom ethics appeal more strongly than aesthetics will see its moral lesson. It will fill the cowardly with terror, and the unclean will see in it their own shame. ~ Oscar Wilde
Art And Creativity quotes by Oscar Wilde
It is not merely that I paint from him, draw from him, sketch from him. Of course I have done all that. But he is much more to me than a model or a sitter. I won't tell you that I am dissatisfied with what I have done of him, or that his beauty is such that Art cannot express it. There is nothing that Art cannot express, and I know that the work I have done, since I met Dorian Gray, is good work, is the best work of my life ~ Oscar Wilde
Art And Creativity quotes by Oscar Wilde
I find pop art really offensive because it's taking a piece of popular culture and putting it somewhere where people can't see it. ~ Rebecca Sugar
Art And Creativity quotes by Rebecca Sugar
The activity of art is ... as important as the activity of language itself, and as universal. ~ Leo Tolstoy
Art And Creativity quotes by Leo Tolstoy
Art is a human act, a generous contribution, something that might not work, and it is intended to change the recipient for the better, often causing a connection to happen. ~ Seth Godin
Art And Creativity quotes by Seth Godin
The object of art is not to make salable pictures. It is to save yourself.
The fools who write articles about me think that one morning I suddenly decided to write and began to produce masterpieces.
There is no special trick about writing or painting either. I wrote constantly for 15 years before I produced anything with any solidity to it.
The thing of course, is to make yourself alive. Most people remain all of their lives in a stupor.
The point of being an artist is that you may live.
You won't arrive. It is an endless search. ~ Sherwood Anderson
Art And Creativity quotes by Sherwood Anderson
The difference between art about death and actual death is that one's a celebration and the other's a dull fact. ~ Damien Hirst
Art And Creativity quotes by Damien Hirst
The more I drive myself into the depth of my inside, the more things come up to my vision, visibly or invisibly ... I even do not know if I am seeing them with my eye or with my mind. I just need to copy them on my canvases. But this mental process is always overwhelming. I often have hard time to deal with my emotion on this state. You could call this depression on surface? But actually, so many 're-birth' and 'reform' are going on on my thoughts, inspiration, philosophy ... etc in the underwater. I believe this struggle make my art real. My art always comes from my emotion. ~ Hiroko Sakai
Art And Creativity quotes by Hiroko Sakai
It baseball is an American institution and more lasting than some marriages, war, Supreme Court decisions and even major depressions ~ Art Rust, Jr.
Art And Creativity quotes by Art Rust, Jr.
I arise from dreams of thee
In the first sweet sleep of night,
When the winds are breathing low,
And the stars are shining bright.
I arise from dreams of thee,
And a spirit in my feet
Has led me -who knows how?
To thy chamber-window, Sweet!

The wandering airs they faint
On the dark, the silent stream -
The champak odours fail
Like sweet thoughts in a dream;
The nightingale's complaint,
It dies upon her heart,
As I must die on thine,
O beloved as thou art!

Oh lift me from the grass!
I die! I faint! I fail!
Let thy love in kisses rain
On my lips and eyelids pale.
My cheek is cold and white, alas!
My heart beats loud and fast;
Oh press it close to thine again,
Where it will break at last! ~ Percy Bysshe Shelley
Art And Creativity quotes by Percy Bysshe Shelley
In a very ugly and sensible age, the arts borrow, not from life, but from each other. ~ Oscar Wilde
Art And Creativity quotes by Oscar Wilde
For if my poems have always been about survival
and I believe they have been
then survival too keeps revealing itself as an art of the unexpected. ~ Jane Cooper
Art And Creativity quotes by Jane Cooper
Teachers matter. So instead of bashing them, or defending the status quo, let's offer schools a deal. Give them the resources to keep good teachers on the job, and reward the best ones. In return, grant schools flexibility: To teach with creativity and passion; to stop teaching to the test; and to replace teachers who just aren't helping kids learn. ~ Barack Obama
Art And Creativity quotes by Barack Obama
'The Lady's World' should be made the recognized organ for the expression of women's opinions on all subjects of literature, art and modern life, and yet it should be a magazine that men could read with pleasure. ~ Oscar Wilde
Art And Creativity quotes by Oscar Wilde
A clever general ... avoids an army when its spirit is keen, but attacks it when it is sluggish and inclined to return. This is the art of studying moods. Disciplined and calm, he awaits the appearance of disorder and hubbub among the enemy. This is the art of retaining self-possession. ~ Sun Tzu
Art And Creativity quotes by Sun Tzu
Real gifts don't demand reciprocation (at least not direct reciprocation), and the best kinds of gifts are gifts of art. ~ Seth Godin
